now that i really think about it the mint color really clashes with the blue of javier's coat in a,,, not so great way tbh. either the coat should've been a smidge more green tinted or the hair had to be a little more blue. so,,, yeah.

March was a busy month! For one thing, I sat down and came up with my fursona. Keep in mind it is not at all based on any real species, this is pure 'I wanna swipe all the bat shapes that I think are fun'.

Being an artist and having audhd is so cool because I'm like "oh I have an idea for this piece! I must now dedicate my life to studying post mortem examinations to truly understand how to paint this one painting" (this decision will overwhelm me with information and stress me too much to never complete the painting.)(I will guilt myself over it because I bought ALL those books about one specific thing and now they just sit in my closet)

every time i hear anything art-related on tiktok, i immediately get really like... upset? annoyed? idk. unpleasant feeling because it's literally always "we're making fun of this child/beginner for their anatomy or how they color" or whatever else or pretending that an artists deserve to be treated like a piece of corporate media.

i know tiktok is literally the devil and hell incarnate, but i don't think any artist deserves to be targets of mass harassment especially not people who are just starting out (and even more especially not children).

if tiktok was a thing when i was younger and i was posting my art on there, i would never fucking draw ever again. my art career would've ended after a few months of drawing "seriously," and i really do mean it lol. call me sensitive or whatever, but a 13-15 year old does not need to hear whatever criticism you think they need to hear i promise.

Here’s another thought I had (a bit nsfw but whatever)

Humans got to where we are because of our evolutionary advantages (the ability to grab, our perception of color, our ability to walk upright, etc)

Every feature on us had a purpose at some point, even if modern humans don’t really need it anymore, like the appendix with our ancestor’s more plant-based diet

Ok so if that’s true

Then why the fuck

Do human testicles have taste receptors

In what universe would that be a necessary feature

Especially considering the fact that testicles are inside a further casing (did a bit of research, it is the testicles that have the tastebuds, not the scrotum)

So did men just cut open their ballsacks and dip them into wine glasses back in ye olden caveman times

It's strange how I kind of went from consistently disliking my art, to like, disliking individual pieces, but when I look at my overall work I just get filled with so much joy and pride

It's not like I'm doing anything groundbreaking or utterly amazing, but I guess it's the thing of like, seeing myself as an ordinary human capable of creating things? I just see so much beauty in humanity's capacity of creating things, and I guess I had to teach myself to see that beauty in my own capabilities as well, no matter how mediocre they are

It's hard to say I like things I create because I fear people will think I'm full of myself, but I just have so much pride in my work. If I start looking too closely at my art, I start seeing all the mistakes and everything I hate about it, but if I step back and take in the bigger picture of all I've done and how far I've come? I don't know, it's a strange feeling to describe

It's best described as this sentiment of fulfilment that makes me realize that there's nothing else I'd rather be doing with my life other than creating art I love and sharing with people
