hi. I got maybe 5 hours of sleep last night, have been up too long, spent two hours outside at a gardening event and 2 hours sewing tiny decorations for the boots (I’ll show that tomorrow it isn’t done yet) + was busy with video gaming today but I can’t get into the bathroom to brush, so it’s time for peak gay hours.
fictional women in tightly tailored coats are the best. Military style coats are my top tier, Furina’s Ouji coat is another top pick. Can’t go wrong with a (White/black) button up, with either pants or a skirt, but the key to a skirt is the shirt then should be plain, too frilly and it looses it and tips into blouse, hit the balance right though and it’s yummy. The most hot women look at “men’s fashion” and yoink it. Peak fashion, I want to be them and I want them.
my top choices for this exact idea in no particular order:
furina. My girl prince. Talulah. Legally only like her you ger design counts but that dress she wears has enough of the energy . She counts
arlecchino: I love her design so much, think it could have used a little bit more black. No she doesn’t need it in context of game and motion but in still I think she could use it. Thank you for giving her oants
morag ladair: Ok so I’m starting to think having a hat is a bonus to peak design. Please if you don’t know her look her up. She weilds dual fire whip swords. Her formal attire outfit is actually probably even better than her default. She’s also got some gay tension with the woman who is her fire whip swords (xenoblade 2 was weird).
Ange prinvess principal: peak design, not hot, might be because I recognize she is so gay for charlotte I can’t get in there. Her Wesley Fosbery Automatic revolver is the only gun I have ever wanted to own and unfortunately it’s so rare.
Lena from 86: objectively not the point of the series and I didn’t finish the anime (made the mistake of trying to watch it weekly and failing and just stopped watching)
every revue starlight revue outfit.
Mashiro Kurata Bandori: she had too much cute energy for me to ever have a crush on her but like actually all of Morfonica’s original outfit slay (except their stupid gloves. You are playing STRING INSTRUMENTS). I was so right to cosplay her (plus making hats is so fun and she taught me that.)
honorable mentions:
Kafka had doesn’t count because her shirt has no buttons but she ticks off so many of my other boxes (she’s like. The only character to tick off one of them.) she gets an honorable mention
me. I look good in button ups. Can do pants and suspenders to go lesbian or get a gender moment by suspenders plus skirt. Like my favorite button up (and my binder and shorts under) is my key to wearing to wearing my skirt/dress that makes me happy without feeling yucky from the gender and/or the weirdness of not having enough fabric between my legs.
this has been nonsensical gay rambliny

Total Drama Movies- Episode 1- “Lights, Camera, Chaos!”
Chris: Hello and welcome to the largest Total Drama season ever! We have 28 brand new contestants that will stir up more drama that any cast has before! These contestants will get into teams, and by the end of the episode, whichever team has lost the challenge, will be up for elimination! The team will vote someone out every episode, and this process will repeat till everyone but one is left, and they will win ONE. MILLION. DOLLARS! This competition will take place in a crummy old movie studio north of Toronto, and all of the challenges will be themed with their own genre! Well, we should probably move on and meet these 28 contestants! This is.. TOTAL! DRAMA! MOVIES!
*Cuts to ferry sailing to the movie studio*
Eliza: *Sewing dress* Hey, do you know when we will arrive? I need about 15 more minutes to finish my broadway dress!
Maxim: *Looks up from book he’s reading* Uh… I don’t think you’re gonna need a broadway dress… It’s a film lot, not a theatre.
Eliza: Eh, whatever…
Bailey: Did you know I made the first ever dress?!! I also went to Mars and met aliens, and I hold world record for eating the most cellphones-
Eliza & Maxim: We don’t care!
*Pauline notices Wyatt with Nintendo Switch*
Pauline: Oh, you play video games too?
Wyatt: Yea😎😎😎😎 im kinda epic lolz😎😤😂💪💪 im soooo MLG 😂😂👌🔥
Pauline: Oh..!
*Camera pans to more contestants*
William: Hey! What’s happening?
*Awkward Silence*
Cece: I don’t want, nor care enough to talk to you.. Lemme just get this straight, if you haven’t been on atleast 10 Disney Cruises and ridden in a Lamborghini, I do NOT want to talk to you, kay?
Ines: *Amused* Heh, classic rich girl..
Jamil: Yep. Hey, if we’re on same teams, you wanna become an alliance?
Ines:  Yeah sure! We’re both pretty strong! Were you in the military?
Jamil: Not yet, still in training, but I’m almost ready!
*Camera pans again*
Dwaeji: Ohayo..!! ^o^ Im so sugoiii! Nya >w<!!
Andres: No way 💀💀
Dwaeji: Konnichiwa!! Onionhaseyo 🥺🥺!! U support RCTA??
Andres: No.. get out of here!
Eddy: Erm.. ya.. according to my calculations, “Dwaeji” means pig in Korean.. It’s clear you didn’t do you’re research.. ☝️🤓
Rajiv: Hahah, you’re name is “pig”? Nice. *High fives Eddy*
Dwaeji: Ok fine Eddy-san and Rajiv-kun.. my real name is Emily.. but don’t tell anyone, you bakas.. 😔😔 UnU
Dennis: *sighs* This trip is taking forever..
Tamia: I know, right? It’s nice to have someone like you on the ride.
Dennis: Yeah, I guess you’re right. 2 pessimists are better than one.
Dominique: *Excitedly* Oh come on, it’s not that bad! *shouts* Hey everyone! How are you guys!
Francesca: *Happily* Good, I guess.
Boris: Meh, I’m bored.
Kenny: *Staring at Dominique*
Dominique: What?
Kenny: Hey.. you wanna maybe.. uh.. go out some time? 😏
Dominique: *Concerned* Uh… *awkward laugh* How are YOU guys!
Fredrick: Um.. I have to address YOU first. 🍷🗿 NOBODY talks up to the sigma. 🍷🍷🗿🗿🗿🗿 Where’s the buffet?
Dominique: um.. Why is everyone here so wierd..
Leopold: *Picking nose* I know, right?
*Camera moves on once again*
Francesca: Okay! I think I’m ready for this! I got this!
Fangxiu: Girl yes 🥰 Get ready to slay this competition away 😍
Francesca: Um, okay?
Charlotte: Don’t worry, darling, half these contestants look like they can’t count past 5.
Taniyah: Girl, they don’t look that dumb..
Pietro: HEY! That’s not true! One! Two! Three! Four! uh.. Five! uh… um.. ah, crap..
Roman: Hah! Bro, you’re stupid, I could count to six!
Pierro: Oh yeah? Prove it.
Roman: You’re on bro!
Taniyah: *Looks at Charlotte* Alright, guess I was too nice.
Sigita: Hey, you guys ready to lose for me?
*Everyone stops*
Dominique: Oh my god, you’re so pretty!! How do you get your hair that silky?!
Sigita: I don’t know, I might just be effortlessly beautiful.
Grace: Hey! I’m better though! Look at how preppy I am!
*Everyone ignores*
Grace: HEY! LOOK AT MY PREPPYNESS!! 😡
*The boat starts rocking a lot*
Boris: Hey, uh.. Is it just me or did this boat get faster?
*Cuts to captain’s headquarters, an intern is driving the ferry*
Intern: Heh, time to give them a small surprise!
*Ferry crashes into rocks, and the boat shakes*
Dominique: What was that?!
Fredrick: Crap, that was me. But I won’t say sorry since I’m sigma and saying sorry is such a beta move 🍷🗿
Eliza: *Sniffs* Oh god!
*Water enters the room the contestants are in*
Rajiv: Aww man!
Pietro: THE SHIPS SINKING!!
*Everyone jumps off the ferry before its goes underwater*
Dennis: *Quietly* Oh no.. We’re soaked..
Chris: *through megaphone* HEY CONTESTANTS! SWIM TO THE STUDIO NOW! THEN WE WILL HAVE THE FIRST CHALLENGE!
Roman: *Annoyed* Dude.. Really? Right Now!
*Up on dock where Chris is*
Jamil & Ines: We’re first!
Chris: Jamil! Ines! How’s it going?
Ines: This was lightwork!
Jamil! Yeah, swimming was basic training!
Chris: Haha, I wonder if you’ll call the CHALLENGES “lightwork”.
*Boris swims up next*
Chris: Next up is our strongman, Boris!
Boris: Hey, Chris. Is this the place.? Hoping it would be nicer..
Chris: Up next.. The track star, Leopold!
Leopold: Hey chris.

Fredrick: Uh.. I d-did that on p-purpose?? Heheh..?🍷🗿
Jamil: That was sad..
Chris: Anyway, it’s time for you’re first challenge!

Eddy: Erm.. I think I have a bit of a crush on Sigita..
Dominique: Well, why not join teams with her? I can come along with you if you want!
Eddy: Um, ok! Hey Sigita, you wanna be teammates with me and Dominique?
Sigita: Alright, sure I guess..

Fangxiu: CAN I CVME TOO 😍💅
Charlotte: Alright..
Maxim: Hey Eliza, you wanna become teammates?
Eliza: Sure!
Bailey: I’m classified the best teammate ever by 37 of the top 50 universities in the country so I’m joining you two!
Ines: Anyone else wanna join me and Jamil?
Grace: I’ll make this team 200% more preppy!
William: Uh.. I’ll join I guess?
Jamil: Ah, I think we just made the team worse. Eh, Wanna join up with Bailey, Eliza, and Maxim so we have a full team of 7? Eliza and Maxim seem smart, we might need some smarts to balance out Grace and William.
Ines: Keh, sure.
Chris: And the first of four teams are created!
Boris: Hey, Pietro & Roman, you 2 guys seem pretty strong, wanna join me?
Pietro: Sure Dude!!
Roman: Alright Nicee!!
Andres: Yo can I join?
Boris: Sure, you seem competitive! Let’s join Pauline, Dennis and Tamia so we have a full team.
Charlotte: Hmm.. the last ten people look rather horrible.
Taniyah: Now hold on, Leopold is a track runner so hes fast, and Cece is a snobby white girl but she finna be an even bigger pain if she’s on another team, so we can take in those two!
Leopold: Alright!
Cece: Fine, whatever.
Kenny: Hey, Rajiv dude, you wanna join Dominique?
Rajiv: Sure!!
Dominique: Alright, the last 3, Wyatt, Sigma, and Koreaboo. Let’s get Wyatt since he is good with strategy since he’s gamer and.. uh..
Wyatt: Lesgo!!
Leopold: We gotta get one last person for full team!
Taniyah: He’s Right, we gotta get one of the worst two..
Leopold: Uh.. Fredrick!
Cece: *extremely mad* UGH.. WHY?!
Leopold: At least he isn’t as bad as koreaboo Dwaeji!!
Cece: You know what, he just might be..
Chris: Alright! That means Dwaeji will join the losing team! Here are the four teams…
Ines & Jamil’s Team: Bailey, Eliza, Grace, Ines, Jamil, Maxim and William.
Boris’s Team: Andres, Boris, Dennis, Pauline, Pietro, Roman and Tamia.
Charlotte’s Team: Cece, Charlotte, Fangxiu, Francesca, Fredrick, Leopold and Taniyah.
Eddy’s Team: Dominique, Dwaeji, Eddy, Kenny, Rajiv, Sigita, and Wyatt.
Chris: Now, what will these four teams be named?
Andres: the Dead Bodies!!
Grace: Preppy Squad!!! >o<
Fangxiu: the Haunted Poosay-😍😍
Chris: THAT IS ENOUGH! I’ll give you team names!
Andres, Boris, Dennis, Pauline, Pietro, Roman and Tamia, you will be the Mighty Wizards!
*Cheering and Yelling from Team*
Bailey, Eliza, Grace, Ines, Jamil, Maxim and William, you will be the Ferocious Monsters!
*Cheering and Yelling from Team*
Cece, Charlotte, Fangxiu, Francesca, Fredrick, Leopold and Taniyah, you will be the Fearless Warriors!
*Cheering and Yelling from Team*

Chris: Alright, I’ll see you tonight at the arena of losers! In the mean time, I’ll tell you where you guys will sleep!
*The group walks over to 4 run-down campers*
Andres: Eugh.. is this where we are sleeping?!
Grace: Soooo not preppy.. >:(
Chris: Hahah, yep. Don’t worry, the guys and girls get their own rooms, however the campers weren’t originally meant to be split into 2 rooms, so It will be REALLY cramped!
Eddy: Erm.. actually if they were split in half but still stay the same size-
Chris: I DON’T CARE. Anyway, Get some rest before the elimination ceremony tonight, 4th Thing!
Sigita: God, I can’t believe we’re named that..

——————————————————————————————————
Hey everyone! This was the first part to my Total Drama fanseason. It’s definitely interesting.? I’m thinking that if this project get enough support, I’ll let the viewers vote in comments instead of the contestants. If you want that to happen, you could follow, comment, or even just like! I’m not asking for much either, just a few supporting and consistent commenters, I’ll start viewer voting! Anyway, I’ll see you tomorrow for the next episode!

Bbrae Week 21 Day 6 Fantasy
The sky had turned twilight orange and blue and the air was cool and crisp. The brave knight known only as Mavis the Formidable had just taken off her armor after a long battle with the dreaded 3 headed tiger, Cereberus. The knight needed rest for tomorrow was another day of full of many battles to be fought and only she was strong enough to keep her kingdom safe-
“Mavis!” the girl’s emerald-skinned older sister had popped her head into her room, “Mom says she wants you to…. What are you doing?”
The purple-haired 4 year old was balanced precariously on the top of her headboard facing the window. A blue towel was tied around her shoulders and her fists were confidently placed at her hips.
Mavis narrowed her eyes at her older sister, “I’m playing knights,Phoenix. Duh!” she said, sticking her tongue out at her.
The 10 year old nodded her head at her sister’s antics “Right...anyway mom wanted me to come get you to see--”
Mavis jumped off the bed and ran towards her sister, arms waving in excitement as she interrupted her, “Wait, wait, you can be the wizard who helps me fight Cereberus the 3 headed Tiger! Come on, put this on,'' She shouted running to grab one of her mother’s old cloaks she let her use to play pretend.
“OK, A, I’m telling mom you’re fighting the cat again.”
“NNNOOOo!” Mavis whined.
“And B, why would I be the wizard when you’re the one with psychic powers?”
“BeCAUSE, Phoenix! I have the magical sword!” Mavis spit, pulling a stick she found from the backyard behind her back. In a flash, Phoenix’s hand whipped out towards the stick and snatched it from her younger sister. “Now ya don’t,”  she teased, morphing into a puppy and running down the stairs with the stick in her mouth.
Mavis screeched and launched herself down the stairs after her sister. “Giveitbackgiveitbackgiveitback!”
When Phoenix reached the bottom of the stairs, a tall green man snatched up the green puppy from the ground mid-run and ripped the stick from her mouth. The guilty changeling morphed back into a 10 year old in her father's arms and gave him a look that would melt anyone else’s heart on contact. Garfield rolled his eyes at his daughter.
“You can’t get me with the puppy dog eyes, Phoenix. I invented them.”
At that moment, Mavis had arrived at the bottom of the stairs where her father stood holding her older sister by the waist in one arm and the stick in his left hand. The impatient girl started jumping up and down at the stick just slightly out of her reach.
“Dad! Dad! My Sword!”
Gar looked at this hand and then at his child and a slow smile crept over his face.
“Ah Mavis the Formidable, I believe this belongs to you,” he said, handing her the stick.
“Thank you, kind sir,” turning to stick her tongue out at Phoenix.
Just then, the girls’ mother came up from the stairs to the basement with a sour look on her face as she approached her children.
“Mavis, would you like to explain why I just had to untie the cat from the radiator in the basement?”
She turned to Phoenix, “Or would you like to explain why I asked you to see if your sister wanted to go to the tower with you and Dad, and I instead hear her screaming at the top of her lungs? Should I even mention the fact that I specifically told you no morphing in the house, and you, no sticks longer than your arm in the house.” She scolded both of her children with equal intensity.
Gar looked at his wife, “You told her no sticks?”
“Only her arm’s length-long, after what happened this morning.” Raven said, pulling her hair up to show her husband the welt on the back of her neck. Mavis had been practicing wielding her “Sword” while Raven was trying to fold laundry that morning.
“Well that’s an easy fix” he said, pulling the stick back out of Mavis’s hand and snapping it in half, making it an arms length.
“MY SWORD!” the girl wailed.
Gar stared at Mavis in the eyes and warned, “You could have no sword at all. Now the both of you need to apologize to your mother!”
Both girls sighed, and rolled their eyes, “Sorry Mom,” they said in unison.
Raven sighed and recollected herself. Other than poor Cerberus getting tortured, most of what they were doing was not a big deal, but Raven would have to have ANOTHER talk with Mavis about including live animals into her pretend games.
Raven looked at her girls. Phoenix who was green and lanky like her father but otherwise had her mother’s face. She had thick green hair that was always pulled into a ponytail with a heavy bang that covered the matching chakra she shared with her mother. While Mavis had her pale skin and wild purple hair that stuck out all over the place complete with her father’s smile and ears. They were going to be the absolute death of her.
Raven pinched the bridge of her nose and looked at her younger daughter. “Phoenix is going to the tower to train with Dad. Do you want to come with them or stay at home?”
Mavis wrinkled her nose in thought, “Will Mar’i be at the tower?”
“ I don’t know, I can find out and if not we can see about going to Aunt Kori’s if you don’t want to go to the tower.”
“OK! I just want to play with Mar’i”
Raven went to make the phone call, while Gar rushed Phoenix upstairs to get dressed for training exercises. Mavis the Formidable, however, had decided it was time to visit the Witches' Den. It was time to make potions.
Mavis the Formidable had visited the Witches’ Den many a time to create potions to take on her amazing quests, but everytime she had gotten found herself caught and placed onto the chair of eternity. The witch in charge of the den had warned Mavis that the items in this room were not to be trifled with, but Mavis knew she was a strong warrior and wise enough to correctly use any potion within these ancient walls all on her own. Mavis reached up to grab a glass bottle with pink sand and--
“If you touch that, you can forget about going to see Aunt Kori and Mar’i.”
Mavis wilted as her mother approached her. She never let her play in the meditation room and everything in there looked so cool!
“But MOM, I need to make potions or I can’t fight the dragons!”
Raven sighed but then smirked at her daughter's active imagination.
“Oh well why didn’t you just say so, Mavis the Formidable.”
Raven grabbed an empty orb shaped bottle and poured a clear liquid from another bottle inside, the pink sand Mavis had originally reached for, three small black stones and a powder that made it shimmer when it was shaken.
“There, one dragon slaying potion. Don’t drop it”  she said with a wink.
“Thank you, kind witch” she said, giving her mom a hug.
Raven narrowed her eyes at her daughter, “You’re pushing it.”
Mavis quickly corrected herself, “Thank you, Mommy.”
“Mmhhmm, you wanna go to Aunt Kori’s then?”
“Can we teleport there?” Mavis begged.
“Mavis, the last time we teleported anywhere you wouldn’t stop crying for half an hour and wouldn’t sleep in your own bed for a week.”
Mavis crossed her arms and began pouting “Well you wouldn’t turn on the light inside the portal”
“Mavis, for the last time, there is no light inside mommy’s magic, it’s all--I’m not having this argument again. If you want to go, get your shoes on, we’re driving there.”
Mavis pouted for a moment and then looked up at her mother through her eyelashes.
“Can I wear my rain boots?”
“If you dress yourself, you are welcome to wear whatever you want.”
“OK!” Mavis shouted, bolting up the stairs, dragon potion in hand.
Upon arriving at Kori’s, Mavis impatiently unbuckled herself from the carseat and began whining as her mother was taking too long to help her out of the seat.
“Hold on, Mavis, let me get my bearings,” she said as she helped the girl out of the car.
Kori was standing by the front door waving them in when Mavis went racing past her into the house, “HiAuntKoribyeAuntKori!” she shouted behind her.
Kori chuckled at the sight while Raven rolled her eyes in exasperation.
“Awesome manners, kid. You’d think nobody taught you them.” She deadpanned in the direction her child ran.
Kori shook her head in bemusement, “How do you keep up with that one?”
Raven scoffed, “You think I keep up with her?”
Mavis tore through the house looking for her friend, finally she spotted Mar’i through the sliding glass door to the backyard, swinging on a rope swing. Mavis attempted to move the door but it was locked. She pushed and pulled and scrambled up hanging on the handle, but it wouldn’t budge. Slowly, Raven came walking behind her child and quietly unlocked the door while Mavis was still hanging onto the handle. At the first sign of her new found freedom, Mavis threw open the glass door and raced across the patio to her friend.
Upon seeing Mavis, Mar’i jumped off the swing and ran to meet her. They two girls embraced each other tightly until Mar’i tackled them both to the ground, causing both girls to start giggling.
Raven and Kori walked out to the patio to halfway supervise the girls but mostly to catch up and chat.
Before the girls could get up and start playing, Raven called out a warning, “If you get hurt doing something stupid or something you’re not supposed to do, I’m not using any healing powers on either of you.”
Mavis rolled her eyes at her mother while Mar’i simply nodded in agreement. “OK!”
Mavis turned to Mar’i excitement coloring her face, “Mar’i guess what I have?” she asked, holding the bottle her mother gave her behind her back.
“What? What is it?”
Mavis proudly showed off the potion her mother made, “It’s dragon slaying poison, do you wanna fight the dragon with me?”
Mar’i looked into the bottle's contents and swirled it around. “Are you sure, this is dragon poison? It looks like water and pink sand.”
“Of course it’s dragon poison! My mom made it and my mom makes all kinds of stuff like this!”
Mar’i shrugged her shoulders, “OK, can I be the princess this time?”
“Sure!” Mavis shrugged back and went to find a new sword stick.
After finding a stick much longer than her arm, getting scolded by her mother, and then finding a much smaller stick, the heroes set off on their adventure.
The two adventurers had set off on a most gruesome task. A great dragon had taken over the nearby village and stolen all their resources. The village's only hope was now Mavis the Formidable and Princess Mar’i. Mavis only armed with her sword and her dragon slaying potion, and Mar’i with her flight and starbo--
“Hey wait a minute, why do you get to use your powers?! Mom, why does Mar’i get to use her powers?” She shouted running towards her mother.
“Mar’i’s powers work differently than yours do, she can use hers without hurting anyone, which is something you can’t quite do yet.”
Mavis stomped her foot and tears formed in her eyes,”That’s not fair, I want these off.” She shoved the silver cuffs that contained her power in Raven’s face.
Raven put a calm hand to her daughter’s hands and lowered them away from her face, “Your sister had to wear them until she was 6, and even then she only had them off for a few hours at a time. I’m sorry Mavis, but they’re there to keep you and everyone else safe.” This was a very rehearsed and familiar conversation Raven had practiced from years of dealing with the subject with Phoenix, who beforehand would turn into any animal she thought of with no control over it at all.
It was very clear to everyone that Mavis was about to have a meltdown before Mar’i interrupted, “That’s ok! I just won’t use my powers!”
Mavis sniffed, “Really?”
“Yeah of course! I might fly on accident though, cause when I’m really happy, I fly.”
Mavis rubbed her eyes, “That’s OK, you can fly us to the dragon!” Mavis was already picking the game back up where they had left off.
“Oooh Yeah!” Mar’i agreed, floating a few feet in the air and reaching for Mavis’s hands.
Raven stiffened, and Kori gave a warning, “No higher than the bottom of the tree branches, Mar’i and don’t drop her.” Mar’i nodded in agreement and Raven relaxed a little, since Mavis could definitely survive that fall if Mar’i did drop her.
As the two young warriors flew off on their great quest, they came to a great mountain, complete with a rickety bridge that led to a separate deeply sloping mountain. Mavis the Formidable, was first to climb the great mountain with ease as she held within her tiny body the strength of a thousand suns, but as Mar’i attempted to climb the mountain she had lost her footing and the warrior princess began to slip. “Mavis!” She yelled to the knight in front of her. Mavis had reached the top of the mountain and turned to her companion. “Mar’i!” the brave warrior shouted from several miles above her.
“I’m slipping, I can’t hold on!”
“Don’t worry, I’ll save you!” Mavis yelled from the top of the mountain throwing the princess a long rope to help her climb to the top.
Mavis’s blue towel that was previously wrapped around her shoulders smacked Mar’i in the face and she fell backwards off the playset. Mar’i lay flat on the ground looking up at Mavis with rage in her eyes, “Ow! Mavis!”
Mavis started waving her arms around excitedly, “I'm so sorry, are you ok?”
Just then Kori and Raven ran over to see if Mar’i was ok. After a quick but thorough inspection, it was deemed that Mar’i was ok, just irritated. Raven shot Mavis an irritated look, “Mavis what possessed you throw the towel on Mar’i’s face?”
“No, mom, listen, I didn’t throw it at her, she was slipping off the mountain and I was trying to save her!”
Raven smacked a hand to her face, she was getting really sick of the knights game. “Ok new rule, you’re not climbing anything together!”
Mavis and Mar’i sighed knowing this part of their game was now over. The two mothers walked away leaving the girls to play together once again.
Mavis approached Mar’i but the other girl pouted and crossed her arms at her friend.
Mavis pleaded at her raven haired friend, “I really didn’t mean to, I promise!”
“Hmpf!” Mar’i huffed and turned away from the mini empath, “I don’t want to play with you anymore!”
Mavis’s eyes started to well up with tears at the rejection of her best friend until suddenly inspiration struck her.
“WAIT!” she shouted, taking the towel off her shoulders, “You can have my cape if you’ll be my best friend again.”
Mar’i straightened up in shock, “Really?”
“Uh-huh! Will you still be my friend?” Mavis implored her friend.
“Of course!” Mar’i said, standing up and putting the towel over her own shoulders.
Mavis breathed a sigh of relief as she stood with her friend and continued their game.
Beneath the mountain where the heroes had fallen they discovered a vast cave ripe for exploring. The cave was cold and dark, they had made an attempt at a fire to warm themselves up, but the cold winds within the cave kept blowing it out like a birthday candle. Mavis could make out ancient runes inscribed in the cave’s walls that quickly lead the two to the innermost part of the cave.
It wasn’t too long until the adventurers heard heavy breathing in the darkness that didn’t belong to either of the pair. As their eyes adjusted to the darkness, the girls screeched in terror.
Looking at them were several jackalopes, with their teeth bared and ready to attack the young girls. Mar’i attempted to run to the safety of the queen but Mavis the Formidable, knew exactly what to…
Kori looked up from the conversation she was having with Raven when she heard Mavis scream what could only be described as a warrior cry. “Raven...I don’t mean to alarm you but, your daughter is running and screaming manically with 3 baby bunnies in her arms.”
Raven took a deep shaky breath and closed her eyes, trying to find a state of calm. After several attempts to find a meditative state, a nearby bird's nest exploded as Raven finally lost her patience, “MAVIS ANGELA LOGAN! DROP THE BUNNIES!”
Mavis, the formidable once again found herself caught within the grasp of the evil witch and her chair of eternity. Days stretched into years and years stretched into decades as the adventurer found herself bound to the evil throne.
No amount of pleading and bargaining with the cruel witch would change her mind as the warrior was only met with hushes and dark glares that she learned in witch language meant “shut up”. Just when Mavis thought she would be left to perish cold and alone in the chair of eternity a glorious sound parted the clouds and rang through the heavens.
Beep, Beep, Beep. The timer on Raven’s phone went off signaling to Mavis that her timeout was over. Mavis eagerly lept from the chair but Raven stopped her before she could run back into the backyard. “Uh-uh, you’re not getting away that easily!”
Mavis wilted and shuffled back over to her mother to get a talking to. Just as Raven was about to start scolding Mavis, the sliding glass door opened and out stepped Phoenix, Garfield and Dick.
Garfield knew his youngest daughter like the back of his hand and knew what the look on her face meant. “Oh no, what did you do this time?” he asked Mavis casually.
Raven narrowed her eyes at Mavis while speaking to her husband, “Your daughter is trying to catch wild animals to play with them again.”
“How come she’s always my daughter when she’s in trouble?” The changeling asked.
“Because Phoenix is my daughter when she’s in trouble, this was our agreement, I get the mean one and you get the feral one.”
“Right, I forgot about that. You want me to handle this one?”
“I would love nothing more.”
With that, Raven turned to her older daughter to get the details of how her training went, while Garfield crouched down to his youngest daughter.
“Are you out here driving your mother crazy?”
Mavis cracked a small smile.
“It’s not funny, Mavis,” he warned.
“Well I was just trying to play with Mari and we were playing knights and we wanted to go on a quest to find the dragon but mom won’t let me use my powers or a sword or chase jackalopes and then I accidently hurt Mar’i with a towel but I was just trying to save her from falling off a mountain and-”
Gar threw up his hand to silence his child’s rambling. “What’s this about a dragon?”
Raven side eyed her husband and smirked knowing where he was going with this by the tone of his voice.
Mavis continued on, “There’s a dragon, and it’s attacking the whole village and-”
Gar cut her off again and began inching towards Raven. “I see, Mavis, does the dragon look anything like this?” he questioned as he threw his wife over his shoulder, morphed into a pterodactyl and flew several feet in the air with Raven on his back.
Raven no longer found her husband's antics amusing as she desperately clung to his neck to avoid a sudden drop. “GARFIELD MARK LOGAN YOU BETTER NOT DROP ME I SWEAR TO GOD!”
Mavis the Formidable was finally face to face with her enemy the dragon and he had captured the witch. Normally this would’ve been something to celebrate, but the witch was sometimes nice. She was the best at reading bedtime stories and always had really good snacks, so Mavis couldn’t let her get eaten by the dragon yet.
Mavis wielded her arm-sized sword and began to swing at the dreaded dragon. The dragon flew close to the ground but continued to dodge Mavis’s attacks with ease. All seemed hopeless until Mavis remembered the dragon slaying potion the witch had made for her. Mavis pulled the bottle out of her back pocket, popped the cork, tilted her head back and chugged the potion.
Raven’s eyes went wide as she watched her child attempt to chug what was essentially salt water and fall to her hands and knees, gagging. Raven stifled a chuckle until she burst out into a fit of giggles.
“You’re not supposed to drink it you dork, you’re supposed to throw it at the dragon!” she said through fits of laughter.
Gar quickly morphed back into his human form also laughing and let Raven get down off of his back.
“Are you going to be ok?” he asked, trying to stifle his own laughter.
“That was so yucky” she managed to cough out and dramatically pretended to die.
By this point, she had everyone in the backyard laughing including herself. Gar went over to pick the child up, when suddenly her eyes shot open and she shoved the stick between his arm and chest. Gar immediately went along with the game. “AAHHHHH YOU KILLED ME” He screamed, falling to the ground next to Mavis.
Raven walked over to the two impressed, “That was pretty clever Mavis the Formidable. You wanna go get some water to wash out that potion taste?”
“And a snack?”
“Sure Mavis, and a snack”
THE END.

Slow Burn: Act I - Part 5
The Lip Sync Battle
Pairing: Chris Evans x Famous!Reader
Summary: Growing tensions between you and Chris overflow in the most musical of battles.
Warnings: Profanity, drunken silliness
Notes: Oh my fucking gosh, I fucking finished it! This part was a BEAST to write! It’s hella long so it’ll be in two posts. Before you dive in, set the mood with the moodboard + music specially curated to go with this part! Read the previous part here.
“How about this one?”
“No, not neon enough!”
“Ok…” you hold up another top option, “this one?”
“Nuh-uh.”
“Alright. This?“
“Uh—”
“Uggggghhhhh!!!” It’s been 45 minutes of trying to decide on an outfit and your patience is running thin. “I’m this close,” you put up a microscopic amount of space between your pointer finger and thumb, “THIS CLOSE to leaving in my pajamas. Don’t think I won’t do it!”
Your older sister, Lynn, laughs at your dramatics from her spot on the end of your bed in her guestroom. “Oooo won’t the paps love that! I just want to make sure you slay tonight! You never know what Hottie McDotties might be in there…”
You scoff, “I’m trying to be low key tonight and not draw any attention to myself. Tonight is not about me.” You look over to your sister who is distractedly sorting through the pile of clothes that’s accumulated on the bed. “Do you hear me?”
“I hear what you're saying… I just don’t care. Now c’mon, let’s find you something sexy! I know we’re close!” You and Lynn turn back to your almost empty closet one last time. “What about that furry, hot pink thing?”
“Oh, you mean the jacket I impulse bought with the birthday boy?” You laugh thinking back to that day. It was the day you first met Scott before filming. We were only supposed to go out for lunch, and damn near bought out the whole plaza!
“Yeah, that one! That could be cute.”
“With my black, skin tight leather pants…”
“Your black, sheer and lacy corset top…”
“And the black knee highs to top it off!” You two say simultaneously making you giggle like school girls. You settle into a comfortable silence as you pull out the pieces of your outfit.
“I missed this— these moments with you, big sis. Laughing, being silly— “
“Talking about boys,” she finishes for you. You roll your eyes, but smile in agreement as Lynn continues. “Me too… god, why’d we both have to be successful?” she says mockingly, making you both laugh again.
“Honestly, the real question is why'd you have to move to Boston?” You asked a lot less like an inquiring adult and more like a pouting toddler.
It’s Lynn’s turn to roll her eyes as she sighs deeply. “You sound like dad.”
“You’ve got some nerve,” she starts in a playful tone. “You’re literally the one who is never in one city for more than a day. You being here for these months is unprecedented.” It’s true; your touring schedule made it where you’d been any- and everywhere, except with family as of late.
“Now who sounds like dad.”
“Sorry, but you opened yourself up for it!”
You huff out a sigh, “Yeah, I guess so.”
Lynn hopped up from the bed and headed for the door, “Uh-huh. I’m gonna warm up the car. Be down in 20.”
“Sure, I can do that.”
“I wasn’t asking. I was instructing.”
“And I oop— she said she’s being a big sister tonight!” you laughed out as you turned around to start getting dressed, hair and makeup already done. Lynn began to leave the room, rolling her eyes at you not taking her seriously.
Suddenly, you were met with a pillow to the back of your head. “What the hell!” The sound of your sister running down the hall and laughing maniacally fill the house. “Hey! Not the curls!” you yelled after her, closing the door.
Just then your phone vibrated with a FaceTime call. You went over to it on the dresser and tapped the screen to answer, the view fixed on the ceiling. The screen filled with a visibly excited Scott, his face a little red from excitement, face a little sweaty from dancing. There was music and loud chatter on his end. Shit! He’s already there! I’m late! “Heeelllooooo? Anybody there?”
“Yeah, sorry,” you peek one eye into the frame, “I’m getting dressed. What’s up?”
“What’s up is that everybody is here, and you are not,” he tapped his camera for emphasis.
“I’ll be there soon. Beauty takes time, ya know!” Each sarcastic word accented with a huff and jump to get in your tight pants. “Whew!”
“What the hell are you doing?” Scott’s eyes peered with genuine curiosity as he sipped a fruity drink.
“I already told you I’m getting dressed.”
“It takes all of that?”
“Listen, as the great philosopher Beyoncé once said, ‘if you don't jump to put jeans on, baby, you don't feel my pain!’ Ok?”
Scott laughed, “OK, yes ma’am!”
“So… who all is there?” Scott knows just what you're asking; if Chris is there.
Chosing to play dumb and not give you defenitive answer, Scott asks. “Is there anybody in particular you’re looking forward to seeing?”
“More like who I’m not looking forward to seeing…” you mumbled.
“What was that?”
“Nothing!” You said for a quick cover, Scott giving you a knowing look. “You know I’m looking forward to seeing your ‘Ma’; I love that y’all call her that. It’s so New England!”
Scott chuckles, “She’s looking forward to seeing you too. She calls you her ‘lovely lunch buddy’.” Being close with Scott on set meant that you’d gotten to meet his mom. She’d taken a liking to you after joining you and Scott for lunch one day, and started joining you as often as she could.
“Awwww, she’s too sweet! I’m gonna let you go now; I gotta finish getting cute for her.”
“Only her?” Scott said with a smirk. Please… Chris could kiss my a—
“Only her. I’ll see you later Scott, and happy birthday for the gazillionth time!”
“Thanks love, see you later!”
With one last fluff of your fro, pop of your lipstick, and once over in the mirror, and you felt ready. Collecting your phone and bag, you headed out for the night.
——————————————————————————
“Sooo....” Lynn turned the down the music as she drove. “How do you feel about possibly seeing you-know-who tonight?” The eyeroll and groan that escaped you were almost involuntary. “What?! It wouldn’t be far fetched; it IS his brother’s birthday.”
“I know, but… do we have to talk about him? I just wanna have a good time tonight,” you whined, throwing your head back on your seat.
“You already know the answer to that.” You let out a long sigh. You hadn’t seen Chris since your game night tell-off a few weeks back, and as much as you tried to forget about him and how you lost your cool, not talking about it was starting to gnaw at you, especially knowing it was only a matter of time before you saw him again. “So, how are we feeling?”
“I…” you took a breath, “I can’t help but feel annoyed! Like, sure I ignored his apology attempts, but he’s the one that passed unfounded judgments on ME. How the hell does that make me a diva? God I hate that word! You know how that word just triggers me,” Lynn nods in response, letting you continue. “And you know what's the most annoying part of it all?”
‘What?”
“Mackie and Scott talk about him incessantly. How smart he is, how caring he is, how fun he is. I mean, I saw it, when we met in New York. But I haven't seen it since. We’re their friends, so I get what they're trying to do, but at some point, like, give it up. It’s obviously not working, nor will it ever.” You let out a sound of frustration, “I don’t know what to do. Do I keep it to myself for the sake of our mutual friendships, or—”
“Be the diva he thinks you are?” You know Lynn is joking, but that’s not a bad idea… I mean, he already thinks it of me, might as well have some fun with it…  Lynn looks over to see you mischievously smiling into the Boston night and she begins to fear for the idea she’s just given you. “Oh God,” she mutters.
You look at her with a goofy grin and shrug. “What?” you try to say innocently.
“C’mon! Don’t actually consider that! Look, you weren’t expecting to see him last time, and that’s probably why it didn’t go so well. But now that you are, you can show up as the composed, level-headed woman I know is somewhere in that thick, thick skull of yours.” You give her no indication that you’ll heed her advice and she can tell. “Fine, just don’t say I didn’t warn you,” she half laughs out.
The car comes to a stop in front of the venue and you check the time. 30 minutes after the invitation time, not TOO bad. You arrived at Majesty’s, a unique, swanky lounge in a trendy area of Boston you’ve never been before. I’ll have to come back and explore sometime. You lean over to give your sister a quick hug, thanking her for dropping you off, then briskly make for the curbside entrance, needing to escape the nippy Boston air.
Once inside, you’re warmed by neon lights that illuminate the otherwise dim room. To your right is a full-service bar with a plethora of drink options on the wall behind it. Tables staggered up the middle of the room lead to a medium sized dancefloor just before a stage. Velvet curtains hang at the back wall behind a neon sign of the venue's logo. The place is packed. It is Saturday night after all. Music and conversation buzz around you as you scan the room looking for your friends.
“Hi there!” a cheery hostess approaches, her face beat to the gods, making you wish you’d opted for more makeup yourself. “Here with Scott Evans’ party?”
“Yeah! How’d you know?” She gives you a weird look, as if to say, ‘you're joking, right?’. It dawns on you that she knows who you are, hence why she knows who you’re here to see.
“Right…” It’ll be awhile before I get used to people recognizing me.
“HeeeEEeey!! There she is!” You hear Mackie’s voice but aren’t sure where it’s coming from. The hostess points up to a balcony where Mackie is hanging over the railing, flailing his arms to get your attention.
The hostess escorts you to your party, leading you through the tables on the main floor. The walk there is spent with her talking about how “tonight is like the Oscars” because she’s “never seen so many big stars in one place” but she assures you she “isn’t a creepy fan” and that there’s a no recording policy for guests’ privacy. You smile and nod politely, but you’re not fully listening to her. You’re too in your head wondering if one of those “big stars” is Chris. You’re led up a staircase near the dancefloor that takes you to a roped off VIP balcony area where you can overlook the entire venue.
You give hello’s to the people in the section; some you know from set, but most are Scott’s longtime friends you’ve never met. Feeling a bit shy, you look for a familiar face when Mackie pulls you into a bear hug. “How ya doing, Kid? I’m glad you came out tonight!” You could be reading too far into it, but it feels like he means ‘glad you came despite the possibility Chris will be here.’ You suppress your urge to give a look of disdain and just smile and avert your gaze around the section. You notice that Chris isn’t there, or at least not yet, and you’re not sure if that makes you uneasy or not. Relax girl.
You still haven’t decided on what your disposition towards Chris will be tonight, but needed to choose quickly to get in the right headspace. Before you could process what was happening, you were whisked up into a hug by Lisa. Shit. I can’t be salty to him with his mother here. She’s so sweet. Ugh, guess it’s decided.
“How’s my lovely lunch buddy doing?” she asks with a genuine smile and kind eyes.
You chuckle at the title she’s given you. “I’m doing great! How are you?”
“Better now that you’re here! Now we can get this party started!” She does a “raise the roof” motion with her hands as she bobs her head causing you to raise your brows. It would be a sure way to embarrass her children, but just makes you laugh. “I should stop before the birthday boy kicks me out,” she laughs out.
“Where is Scott by the way?”
“Oh, he should be around here somewhere...” she scans the section, squinting her eyes with her index finger tapping her upper lip. “There he is!” she points to a corner on the other side. You follow her finger to see a glittery Scott, adorned in a birthday hat and sash. He’s in conversation with a brown-haired woman, the pair laughing and slapping their knees.
As you approach, you notice someone else on the velvet cushion with them, but not at all in the conversation. Sat next to them is Chris, eyes fixed on you, expression blank. It was a matter of time. You tense up, clenching your jaw and holding his gaze.
When you reach them, you embrace Scott. “You look great!” he compliments your outfit and you give a couple poses to show it off.
“Thanks, it’s just a lil somethin’, somethin’ I threw together! Remember this jacket?”
“Yeah! You blew, what? Like, eight hun—”
“Shhh…” you stop him before he could blow up your spot, “Let’s not talk about it. Not the best show of my judgement.” Everyone laughs, except Chris who just scoffs and shakes his head unamused, making your laughter dissipate.
“We all have those moments of weakness. Hi, I’m Shanna,” she greets with a handshake.
“Yes, she is my youngest, and this is my other son Chris. Chris honey, this is—“
“We’ve met, Ma,” he offers a fake but polite smile, one you just know he wouldn’t have if his mother wasn’t right there.
“Oh, really? When?” There’s a beat of silence that’s only uncomfortable for you and Chris as you both go through your brief, sordid history silently.
“At an industry thing not too long ago,” you offer, not meeting Chris’ eyes.
“Of course, I often forget that that world is even smaller than the real world,” Lisa chuckles. “I hope he was on his best behavior!” Chris looks up at you in panic, a look that says you wouldn’t rat me out to my mom, would you? You know she’s only joking, but the opportunity is too good to pass up on.
“Well, actually,’ you turn to Lisa as she looks at you quizzically, “He’s quite the rascal on the dancefloor; get a couple of Stella’s in him, could out dance the Rockettes!” the group laughs heartily, clearly knowing the truth of your words. Chris laughs nervously but is slightly relieved you didn’t reveal the truth of his behavior towards you since you two met. “But he’s been nothing but a perfect gentleman,” you say, looking at Chris with a facetious smile. He’s clenching his teeth into a pained smile himself.
“Really?” Scott says, ready to call you on your BS, “‘cos game night was kinda… intense. Or am I remembering it wrong?”
“Well, a little trash talk never hurt anybody,” Chris states while sipping his drink. And just like that, a silent pact was made between the two of you; to be cordial for the sake of all involved. Maybe there’s no need for the diva disposition after all…
“Right…” Scott is unconvinced, but is too in party mode to press on. Turning to you now, Scott asks, “How’s the soundtrack stuff coming along?”
“So great! I actually just got the final mix for the song I did with Miguel in New York, and I gotta say, it smells like a hit!”
“Oooo! And I bet it is! You’re literally a hit machine, am I right?” Shanna hits Chris’ arm seeking endorsement from him. He just raises his brows and shrugs as if to say, ‘yeah, sure, whatever’.
Scott isn’t amused by his brother’s disinterest. “Oh, don’t act so unimpressed! She’s literally an award-winning artist! Just the other day, you were literally—”
“Ok, Scott, that’s.... sheesh,” Chris interrupts what sounds like would’ve been a great story. “It’s not that, just that I don’t believe in creating to get awards; I believe you should create for the love of it.”
“I agree,” you chime in. “Even though I put my art out into the world for consumption, it doesn’t make or break me if others applaud it or not. What’s most important is that I do.”
“But you gotta admit it feels good,” Shanna taunts with a grin.
“Sure... but, I don't know… I love what I do so much, I'd do it even  if no one gave a damn. Hell, I have for years! Only recently the recognition started rolling in. And, not to sound self-loathing or anything, but it’s been… a challenge dealing with it all. I kinda miss the days when nobody knew my name.”
Lisa nudges Chris with her elbow, “She sounds like you.” He was thinking the same thing. “How’s filming going? You guys are on Harvard campus, right?”
“Mostly, yeah. It’s kinda funny being back at a college. I kinda forgot what it was like, but memories of those years have just been flooding back.”
“All those fond memories of studying coming back to ya, huh?” Chris digs. Walked into that one.
Before you could form a petty rebuttal, Mackie called Chris over. Soon after, Shanna and Lisa excuse themselves, leaving you and Scott in the corner.
Scott checked his phone for the time, “Ooo it’s almost time for my performance!”
“Performance?”
“Yeah there’s lip syncing!”
“Lip syncing? Not karaoke?”
“I asked that too. Apparently the owner was tired of hearing drunk people screech and butcher songs.”
“Understandable. What are you gonna perform?”
“I’m thinking ‘Birthday’ by Selena Gomez, but then there’s also ‘Birthday’ by Katy Perry, so I’m torn.”
“Both great choices! And I’m fully prepared to join you for either, do a little back up, whatever you need.”
“Uh-uh, nope.”
“Whaa— why not?” you put your hands on your hips.
“Because you’re a professional performer. You will get up there and literally intimidate anyone else from giving it a try and having some fun.” A pout was all you could muster as a response. “Oh don’t look at me like that! You know it’s true. Take a backseat tonight, ok?”
“Fine, whatever.” It wasn’t fine, but you did want to keep a low profile tonight. Performing would be the exact opposite of that.
“Thanks, love!” Scott gave you a hug, which you didn’t reciprocate out of feigned annoyance. “So, what the hell was that? With you and Chris?”
“I don’t know what you mean,” you say, hoping he’d drop it.
“Well, I know that you two had some... words, and you’re not super fond of him even though you won’t say it out loud, and—” he paused to collect his confusion. “You know what? Doesn’t matter. Tonight isn’t about you two acting hella weird towards each other. Tonight is about my favorite people coming together and enjoying being around each other. Even if they’re faking it.”
“Yes, exactly!” relieved you don’t have to talk about it any further.
“Wanna know something?” You slightly raise your brows. “The other day, I caught Chris not just listening, but dancing to your music. I mean full on rocking out to it!” Scott laughs.
Your face heats up at the thought, but you play it off like you don’t care. “So?”
“So, you’ve obviously been on his mind. And if I know my brother, I think he wants to make things right but doesn’t know how. He may just be nervous.” You just sigh and look over to Chris and Mackie across the way, roughhousing one another and laughing. If he was nervous, it’s not like you made it any easier with your actions toward him. “He’s a good man. Silly, and sometimes stupid, but good nonetheless.” Maybe we did just get off on the wrong foot…
Some of Scott’s other friends pull him into conversation, and you make your way to the bar to get some libations to sort out your thoughts.
——————————————————————————
“And that’s when I said ‘Sis, what are you doing?’” The group crowded around drinks laughed at Jaden’s story from set, something about how you got stuck under some bleachers or something. Chris wasn’t listening. He’d long tuned out the cringey storyteller. Instead, his attention was with where you were with his mother across the way, deep in conversation.
You sat with your legs crossed, hands moving around animatedly. Chris looks you up from the heels of your knee highs, to your shiny leather clad thighs, your lacy corset that leaves just enough to the imagination and shows off your collar bone, any man’s subconscious weakness. Goddamn.
“Careful of those wandering eyes,” Chris turned to see Mackie handing him one of the two beers in his hands.
“I don’t remember asking for this.”
“It’s to quench your obvious thirst.” Mackie motions his head in the direction Chris had been staring for the past 15 minutes; in your direction.
Chris rolls his eyes. “I’m not ‘thirsting’ over her,” he takes a sip of the drink, “and I think you’ve been hanging out with those kids on set a little too much.”
“Maybe,” Mackie chuckles, taking a sip himself, “but you know I’m not wrong.”
“She’s not even my type.”
“‘Your type?’ Since when do you have a type?”
“I have a type,” Chris tries to defend himself. “Kind, humorous, humble…”
“She’s literally all of those things!” Chris just offers him a side-eye in response. “Look, I don’t know what happened between New York and now—”
“Cos nothing really happened! So what, we had a good time when we hung out once. Means nothing. Not to me, and obviously not to her.”
“You couldn’t be further from the truth my man.” Chris looks from Mackie to you. “She’ll surprise you if you let her.” I hoped she would.
——————————————————————————
“Ladies and gentleman!” A loud voice, booms from the PA system, commanding everyone’s attention. You, Lisa, and everyone in your section approach the railing to look down to the stage where a spotlight had been cast on the speaker. “Here at Majesty’s, we don’t karaoke. We don’t want to hear you drunk motherfuckers screech!” The crowd erupts in laughter, but you look over to Lisa to see if the language offended her. She doesn’t seem to mind as she’s laughing along with ever else.
“At Majesty’s,” the speaker walks around dramatically motioning their hands like a magician's assistant, “We perform, we put on a show, we lip sync like you’ve never seen before!” There’s a chorus of claps, cheers, and ‘yass queen’s.
“We have a special birthday performance by the birthday boy himself! Everybody give it up for Scott Evans!!!” Your section filled with Scott’s friends and family go crazy cheering him on. I wonder what song he decided on.
Come and put cha name on it, put cha name on it
Come and put cha name on it, ya name
Don't chu wanna put ya name on it, put cha name on it
Come and put cha name on it, bay-bay-bay-bay-uh
“Oh my goodness! He would!” Scott surprised everyone with ‘Birthday Cake’ by Rihanna, and you have to say, he did it justice. Ansel and Jaden are his back up, twerking and being silly hype men. You look around to see everyone in hysterics and cheering, enjoying the clownery and having a good time.
In your scan of the section, you notice Chris standing beside you. You admire his profile; the way his eyes scrunch up when he smiles genuinely, the lucious length of his lashes, the sharp angle of his nose, the slack of his jaw when he brings his beer to his plump lips. Before he poured the liquid in his mouth, he looked at you from the corner of his eye, the corner of his mouth quirking up around the neck of the bottle. You whip your head back to the stage below, kicking yourself for getting caught. You can’t bring yourself to look at him, but his cheeks take on a slight rosy hue.
When Scott’s performance is over, everyone cheers and claps for the guest of honor, who takes his center stage bow and makes his way back to the section.
You and Chris look at one another, both of you mid smile, gazing at each other. Your smiles fade and you clear your throat, readying yourself to speak, although unsure of what to say.
“That was...”
“Yeah, it was…”
“Cool…”
“Entertaining even…”
“Uh huh.”
“Yep.”
You both stand there awkwardly. You’re looking everywhere but at Chris, while Chris is rocking back and forth on his heels, swinging his hands in front then behind himself.
“What a riveting conversation we’re having,” you joke, hoping to loosen up the tension.
It seems to work because Chris breathes out a light laugh before testing some humor himself. “Going better than our last conversation, that’s for sure.” He peeks at your expression tentatively to see if the joke landed, and it seems so by the small smile you offer him.
“Yeah… yeah, you’re right,” is all you could think to say. A lull enters your exchange again, but this time it feels a little less rigid, but still not comfortable or cozy. You both have the same idea to interrupt the quiet with a start of a sentence, then share a laugh for simultaneously speaking.
“Ladies first,” he says.
“No, you can. I don’t even know what I was gonna say.”
“Well, if we were thinking the same thing, you were probably gonna start with ‘I’m sorry…’,” he punctuated with a smile.
You, however, are not smiling. Your face is contorted in complete confusion. “What exactly should I be apologizing for?”
Now Chris is confused. Your face and your tone say that you are serious. He’s searching your face for any sign of humor, and when he doesn’t find any, says, “Oh, I don’t know, maybe for acting all high and mighty like you’re too good for a peace offering?”
“There wouldn’t need to be a peace offering if you weren’t judgemental in the first place!”
“Maybe, but my judgments weren’t wrong. You parade around like you’re queen of everything!” You glare at him as he continues his tangent.  “‘OOooooOoO look at me, I’ve won a bunch of statues for my poppy-pop songs and spend my money on fufu jackets, but also don’t look at me cos I’m kinda awkward and might turn to putty at any given second.’” He mocks you in a high pitched, “woman” voice.
You scoff at his foolery and to feel enraged by his stupidly silly drunken display. “First of all, I do not talk like that!”
“Yeah, ok.”
“And secondly, I’m not about to apologize for being proud of my accomplishments that I worked really fucking hard to achieve. I’m not afraid to clap for my damn self. We can’t all be overly-humble and self deprecating and blessed with the ability to be great with everybody. I refuse to shrink myself for anyone any longer!”
‘Any longer’? What’s she mean by that? Chris’ expression softens, as does yours. You’ve realized that you've once again been brought out your box, by a practical stranger no less. The two of you share similar expressions; anger tinged with a bit of hurt. Before either of you could say anything else, not that either of you wanted to, a commotion coming toward the two of you takes your attention away from the heated moment.
Scott is making his rounds through the section, receiving celebratory high fives, kisses, and smacks on the ass. “That was incredible dear!” Lisa punctuated with kisses all over her his face, causing you to laugh at the affection she showed her grown son.
“Ok, ok, thanks Ma!” Scott said, removing his mother’s hands from either side of her face. As he proceeded to wipe off the lipstick from his face, he turned to Chris. “Bro, are you gonna go up there?”
“Nah, just gonna hang back tonight,” Chris says, sounding defeated.
“What? Why? You love karaoke!”
“This isn’t karaoke. Besides, I’m not really feeling it tonight.” That sounds a lot like what you told him as an excuse to leave the game night. You felt like he was baiting you. To bite or not to bite? That is the question. After some intense and uncomfortable pouting from Scott, Chris caved. “Maybe, and that’s a hard maybe!” Chris slurred and gesticulated as he said so.
Satisfied and then distracted, Scott wandered off to his other party guests, his mother following closely behind him. You, however, feeling particularly petty, were not satisfied with his answer. “Too cool for this, are you?” You instigate.
Chris scoffs and swigs his beer, eyes fixed ahead. “Why don’t you go up there? You’re supposedly a big shot rockstar,” you roll your eyes at the title, “and I’ve yet to see what you can do.” A lie, but only he knows that.
You narrow your eyes at him. “I would, but I’ve been told I can’t because I’m a ‘professional’ and will ‘intimidate’ others from having fun, so, whatever…” you say, mocking Scott’s request.
“Yep… sounds about right.”
“The fuck is that supposed to mean?” The liquor made you bold, but Chris barely bats an eye at your brutish behavior. He only winks and walks away. You find yourself trying to manage the butterflies that arise at his slight act, the fluttering cutting through your irritation. What the hell body! We’re not supposed to feel this way towards him!
As you watch Chris disappear down the stairs, there’s a hand on your shoulder that you harshly shrug out of. You turn around to face the offender, but soften at the confused face you meet. “Oh, Lisa. I’m sorry, I didn’t know it was you.”
“Well, I wouldn’t expect you to. Not unless you’ve got eyes in the back of your head,” she chuckles. “Are you ok, darling? You look… pissed.”
You lightly laugh, “Yeah… no… I mean yes, I’m fine.”
Lisa looks at you with an eyebrow raised, unconvinced. “Uh huh… I won’t push only because it’s a party, but I want you to know you can tell me anything that troubles you.” Even if it’s your son? You nod, knowing she’s sincere. “So, Scott said that you all are free on Monday.”
“Yep, first full free day in a while!”
“Great! Well, I wanted to invite you to the art museum with me on Monday. There’s a new exhibit opening up and seniors and friends get a special viewing. What do ya say?”
“Aw, I’d love to, Lisa! What’s the—“
“Guys, gals, and non-binary pals! May I have your attention again!” Everyone returns to the railing to look at the host on the stage downstairs. “Our next performer is somewhat unsuspecting, however, a Boston boy through and through. Says he’s a huge fan of the Patriots,” there’s some “woops” for the home team, “and a big fan of singing some Billy Joel…”
“No, he’s not!” you look at Lisa confusedly, as she covers her mouth.
“Who’s not?”
“…and goes by the name of ‘Sassy Cevans’…” the host continues.
“Oh yes he is!” Scott says from your left, inexplicably giddy.
“WHO IS?!” Your question has yet to be answered as the song's guitar riff ripples through the venue. The performer explodes onto the stage, back to the crowd, air strumming along. They turn around as the first lyrics come in and your question is answered, but now you have so, so many more. What in the hell??

Digimon Kizuna thoughts
All spoilers will be under the cut!
Fresh off of Tri when Kizuna was announced, I wrote up some hopes I had for this movie. Without looking back at that list, I'm pretty sure this movie managed to not hit any of the things I wanted off of that list - but I'm still walking away completely satisfied. The characters, the story, the setting all feel like completely natural progression from how I remember them, it manages to tell a compelling story in a fairly short movie, the animation and designs are drop dead gorgeous. It's clearly a labor or love and I'm thankful for everyone who worked on it. In some ways it leaves me wanting more - I'd love one more entry with the 02 group as a focus, and I think there would be a lot of value in an entry that focuses more on Digimon intigrated with the human world rather than yet another story about kids discovering Digimon. But if this is the last time we see these twelve in this form, what a way to go.
This is absolutely stream of consciousness writing while I’m on my second watch through of the day (In lieu of livetweeting - I’ll spare my followers that much lol). Is it rambling? Absolutely. It may or may not be of interest, but I thought it would be something fun to do regardless. If you decide to read, I hope you enjoy!
----
Tom Fahn’s Agumon is noticeably a bit lower pitched even compared to Tri, weather he can’t take his voice up as much or if it’s a different portrayal I’m not sure but it still fits him really well - Tentomon’s voice feel slightly different too. Funny enough Gabumon is somehow lighter and more childish than his original portrayal, but it also fits him well.
Both Tri and Kizuna have such a weird process to their casting - They got back actors that as far as I can tell haven’t done much if anything since their days on Digimon, they’ve gotten back actors for side characters with bit parts. They’ve hired new actors that seem to take the original voice into account and take their own spin on them, and then they hire actors with absolutely no regard for how the original sounded to the point that it just plain conflicts with the established character. It’s all over the place and it’s weird.
Johnny Yong Bosch's portrayal seems slightly different from Tri, maybe he's playing him slightly older, maybe it's the slightly different personality, maybe I'm imagining it. Something about it reminds me of Doug Erholtz's portrayal, which is an added bonus when JYB was already one of the best of the recasts. Minutes in and I'm completely sold on Nicholas Roye's Matt as well, it sounds like a natural progression from his Adventure voice.
In a vacuum Griffin Burns is a decent Davis, but he's one of the recasts that immersion breaking because not only does he sound nothing like Brian Donovan, but his take on Davis is higher pitch than Donovan's so it's impossible to hear him as older. The fact that Donovan was supposed to reprise his role is just salt on the wound. With the insane amount of delays that this dub got, they surely could have brought him back onboard... It's a  shame that 2 our of 3 roles I've heard of Burns have been a replacement of another actor, hope he can get more roles where he can shine more. On the other hand, Bryce Papenbrook as Cody is brilliant casting coming from his 02 voice for what little we get to hear of him.
Yolei didn't sound to great in her video message, but by the time we see her in person her VA has gotten into the role and captures her really well. Hawkmon sounds fine enough, but I'm way more upset than I should be about Armadillomon's voice considering he doesn't have many lines. A recast was mandatory here, and 'medium-deep southern accent' should honestly be pretty easy to replicate but what we got was horrific. What casting director knew enough about the characters to know that Hawkmon had a British accent but not enough to know what an armadillo sounds like??
Mimi is just straight up Sakura now! I actually thought Kate Higgens would have made a great Yolei, kinda funny to see her here as Mimi now.
Not only did Agumon's "Polly want a cracker?" line slay me, but there's something about Tom Fahn's portrayal that really hits me, even though he's not even my favorite Digimon. It hasn't even been a long time since I've heard it - Tri wasn't that long ago, and I just rewatched Adventure/02 within the past few weeks, but hearing him made me a bit emotional, ha. Same thing happened with his first appearance in Tri, and that was after having seen it in Japanese and knowing what was going to happen!
The opening battle is like a complete screw-you to Tai's arc in Tri with Greymon smashing into buildings and Tai completely unfazed. I'm here for it, lol.
The remastered Digivolution sequences are nice but in true nostalgia fashion I kinda prefer the originals, haha.
Izzy's computer is counting down a 'time rimit'.
Agumon says something to the effect of “Aren’t I always hungry?“ and I don't feel like it’s a reference/jab at Tri, but it got a chuckle out of me anyway.
Tai's classmate is blatantly voiced by JYB too, ha.
Matt gives his location as 'inside the restaurant' when calling an ambulance which seems... not helpful. Love that Tai's reaction to a girl collapsing is a confused "Is she drunk?"
An article on Tai's phone is written in perfect English and he gets message from the name Izzy specifically so I'd assume this is a change for the US release. Subtitles would have been perfectly fine but it's a nice effort to keep immersion.
"The ol' Izz-master" I’m so, so glad they got Jeff Nimoy to write this script, bless Toei.
Only 4 of the Digidestined participating in the battle against the Digidestined is kinda disappointing until I realized that it was a throwback to Our War Game - TK and Izzy get to participate more this time around! As per usual Tentomon (Kabuterimon) manages to sneak in a hilarious line here.
'Lime Magazine' just doesn't have the same ring to it...
TAI'S MAGAZINES...
Tai calling Agumon 'little buddy' is the second scene to hit me right in the feels.
Matt is the only one to reach out to the 02 kids during the movie, I wonder if he felt guilty about what went down in Tri and kept in touch with them a bit more since.
Seeing Kari and TK tied up in a dark room like that is actually one of the more shocking scenes in the movie. That could have ended very differently if this was a different movie...
Meiko shows up for literally one scene with Meicoomon which has... interesting implications. This movie retroactively makes her more tragic as well, as even if she didn't sacrifice Meicoomon there's a chance their partnership would have dissolved anyway - almost a complete lose-lose, there was no way for them to be happy together.
Himekawa is also retroactively more tragic as it's possible she would have been able to see Tapirmon again here - one shows up in the crowd shot!
Honestly this is the movie Himekawa deserved - she was a really interesting character that got wasted and underused in Tri, and while Menoa parallels her in a lot of ways her stoicism just isn't as interesting and Hime's decent into madness was.
L'il Joe has black hair now?
I'm pretty sure Menoa doesn't say "Oh shit" but honestly I'm gonna pretend she does.
I mentioned on Twitter how Leomon doesn't die in this one because he never showed up, but there's one fighting an Eosmon in what I think is Osaka and he doesn't die, and GOOD ON HIM, HE BROKE THE CYCLE!
Omnimon having limbs sliced off got an audible gasp from me.
Matt ACTUALLY got to curse in this movie, character development!!
"Just one thing: Meow" I had to pause the movie, I lost it
Story wise, theme wise, character wise I get it, but mad Sora got screwed over in this movie. Would have been nice if 'To Sora' was included inside of the movie at least.
I still don't like Agu and Gabu's new evolutions, but they did feel really earned and a natural extension of the plot. What better way to spark an evolution than such a huge sacrifice? Izzy's perfectly timed 'prodigious' was the icing on the cake, coming at such a fitting emotional moment and possibly being the last time we'll hear it from Izzy.
When the Eosmon start disappearing all over the world there's a shot of an exhausted lone Numemon who had clearly held off the Eosmon with all the poop that is strewn about. THAT is the next story I want to see.
Unfortunately this movie is in the Tri School of Only Using Champion Level. It's actually pretty inexcusable that we we don't see WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon one more time, but even the other characters should have gone up to Ultimate if not Mega for one final sendoff. I wish we could have seen them truely fight as a team once more, even just for fanservice.
My strongest complaint with the movie itself is that it just kinda... ends. The ending is super emotional, but it just skips ahead afterwards and says 'things are going to be ok!' and ends. I would have liked to see the rest of the kids once more, seeing how they handle the fallout or how they might support Tai and Matt - or maybe a little about what Tai and Matt have taken away from this whole things. Just felt like we needed an extra couple of minutes.
Will we see these particular versions of these characters again? From what I can tell this movie did well in Japan and it’s trending pretty well on Amazon, so who knows. I hope if we do, it’s because the writers come up with an idea they really believe in and not just for the sake of a sequel. But if not, I’m definately greatful for what we have.

Oh my godddddd I just wrote like 3 chem tests today 😒 but I did good on them so that’s an upper !
Lmaoo yesss Brigid has claimed “fuck you, little bitch” I’m more of a f-ing shit type of gal hehe.
Okkk you are official my swim instructor for me and the boys, get ready to be annoyed. Haha I can see you punching their shoulders if they called you that.I myself don’t like cutsie nicknames either. Yesss you and Dylan would dominate, I give you the win . Honestly whenever I play games I just burst out laughing and lose concentration. I kinda see you winning and then Dylan falling backwards lol. Water pics slay!
Yessss jet skiing is so fun! We could be a team, or you and dylan 😏😏 holding onto each other hehe. Ok, I like chirping people so that why I think all of our personality’s would get along ?.
Ya I still have some time before I apply, or get recruited soooo . But those seem like great choices !!
Ooo me too! I have the same sorta skin complexion like she does and I always get told that I look like her when I put my hair up lol. Haha no worries, I would laugh as well. I know it’s wrong of me but I laugh when people have small accidents like tripping, getting hit.
I would be laughing along side with you ! It’s to funny. I barely scream, so I would swear lol!. Like imagine going down and everyone just yelling “fuckkkkkk” hehe. I could not tell you why I didn’t show up lol . And yes I am making you and Dylan sit next to each other because it would be hot and really cute! #matchmaking. I’ll be busy holding onto Jamie or Jack hehe.
Haha pls send some over lol. I’m lacking !! Haha the hoodie is comfy I’m not gonna lie. I’ll send you a hockey hoodie as well. Do u wanna a hockey canada hoodie or a team themed one?.
I’m not really a dress or skirt girl either! I enjoy a good jean or pant type of look. I love your style ! I enjoy a fancy shirt! Or a cute graphic tee. I’ve been into cropped ish blouses, and wearing lots of necklaces 😍 haha yess if I see a cute skirt I’ll cave as well.
Yess the partners are great ! I would honestly dance w everybody ! But I think me and Ryan would have the craziest dances lol . I’m a bit of a crazy dancer hehe. I reserve a slow dance for u with either dyl or Jamie??. Haha yes, i gotta get quinner a bit drunk to teach him stuff lol . Haha that’s fun!.
I barely drink as well but I kinda got drunk on my bday lol . Apparently I laugh a lot, and am super crazy And loud 😜. Not gonna lie beer is really gross after the one sip that I had hehe. I’ve tried a white claw before it wasn’t bad:)) . One time my brother pranked me and gave me coke to drink and I was super thirsty so I drank it and after I drank it he was like that was a vodka-coke . Had some fun times there hehe. He also pranked my mom with that and she never drinks lol.
How can ppl hate chipotle it’s amazing! If I could trade any fast food we have in Canada for chipotle I would . We literally have no good fast food lol .
oh gosh i’m so sorry, i fucking hate chem. my teacher doesn’t even teach and then gives us ap level worksheets and it sucks
hahha yes i’ll be your swim instructor, i’ll only get annoyed if people ask me to teach them fly tho bc it’s so hard to teach. and yes i would definitely punch them in the shoulder if they try to call me any cutsie nicknames. yes me and dylan as a team will destroy, but then as soon as we win he’d try and dunk me lol
ok if i’m jet skiing with dylan, who are you going with? also yes we would literally all be chirping each other the whole time, but i think we could all take it too so that’s why we’d get along really well
yeah i still have time too, but my recruiting coach told me i need to start the recruiting process early so that’s why i already have a lot of schools picked out. and as much as i would love to go to umich i don’t think i’ll end up there bc their swim team is insanely fast so i probably couldn’t swim there
hahha yeah i don’t really think i look like her, i think it’s just the long hair that looks similar. and i always laugh when people get injured and it’s kind of a problem lol
lol yes everyone would be swearing and all the parents would be glaring at us lol. except i usually don’t swear or scream on any rides or anything, so my friends are convinced i’m not scared of anything. also kind of off-topic, but for my summer job we have to do inspections before the park opens in the mornings and the tallest tower is 12 stories high, so one of the hosts who worked there last summer told me if i did top rappel on the first day she would give me $100 and i was like ok easy money. also yes you can be the matchmaker for me and dylan, but then i’ll make you sit by quinner or jamie hehe
haha just tell me which one of my 20 hoodies you want and i’ll send it to you. and then you can send me a team themed hockey hoodie bc as much as i love the canada boys, i could never bring myself to wear a hockey canada hoodie lol
yessss pants girls unite. and cropped blouses are super cute too! i also love how wearing lots of necklaces look, but i just never wear jewelry except my chain with my saint brigid’s cross bc i always have to take it off for sports
lol i would love to see you and ryan dance together, you guys would be so chaotic but so good. aww you playing matchmaker again to get me to dance with dyl or jamie 🥰 also i feel like you’re right, once quinner is drunk it would be way easier to teach him stuff lol
hahha i’ve never gotten drunk, maybe a little tipsy tho. but i have to be super careful bc if my parents pick me up from somewhere and they smell any alcohol on me they would kill me. but i’m getting my license this year, so then i can just sleep over at my friends house after and then drive home the next morning and i won’t have that problem anymore. i actually like beer, what i can’t stand is wine lol. and yeah white claw is pretty good as long as you have the right flavors. my favorite is black cherry. omg that’s so funny that your brother did that, my mom would get so mad at my brother if he ever tried that lol

The Big Day Part 2
Tumblr media
Pairing: Joe Anaoi X Reader (Roman Reigns X Reader)
Warnings: None. Nice and fluffy for you.
Now that the ceremony, the eating and the show was over, we all sat around 2 bonfires, Joe sitting on a log, and me seated in between his feet on the sand.
What surprised me the most was that barely anyone left. Where I was from, everyone came to a family reunion at the beginning, and after the food was served, older members and those with young kids trickled out, but that obviously not the case at a Samoan Independence Day celebration. Babies slept in the arms of parents and family members, older members were seated in comfortable chairs, some with thick blankets over them to keep them warm, and everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) helped keep the young and the old happy and comfortable. This was the Fa’a I’d read about. The Samoan way of revering your elders and working as a family instead of individuals. Truly it was beautiful.
Dwayne had procured a guitar, and sat strumming the instrument, occasionally adding some lyrics, a little Elvis here, a little Moana there. “Ok. Ok. Who is ready to name that tune?” I was a bit confused, but everyone else knew what was going on. I watched and learned. Dwayne would play a few notes, and the first person who could guess the song, had to sing a bit of it; no matter how bad of a singer they were. Obviously, the more tone-deaf singers were cut off early, and a new song started.
I knew the next song by the 4th note but didn’t answer. I waited for someone to start singing. This was an easy one. I waited as Dwayne vamped the 8 notes that should have been easy to recognize. “Awe, C’mon guys. This one’s a classic.” He played the 8 notes again.
I leaned over to Vanessa and Joe and whispered, “Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen.”
I must not have been quiet enough, because the next thing I heard was Dwayne say, “Y/N has it.” He vamped the 8 notes again, looking at me expectantly. “You have to sing it now. It’s tradition!”
I resisted the urge to roll my eyes and sigh out loud. I looked at Joe in a panic. He leaned in close to me. “Baby, it doesn’t matter what anyone said in your past. We are your new family, and we will love and support you even if you can’t sing.” His words were sweet but ignoring that voice in my head that told me I am never enough was impossible.
Seeing that I was anxious, Dwayne said, “I’ll sing it with you.”
They didn’t understand. They didn’t know. It wasn’t that I couldn’t sing. It’s that my singing had been tainted when I was younger. It was never good enough. I was never good enough, and so, I’d locked that part of me up tight and didn’t want to revisit it, but I didn’t have a choice now.
I tried to keep my voice low so Dwayne’s would cover it. “They say there was a secret cord.” Yeah, Dwayne was covering up my voice. “That David played, and it pleased the Lord. But you don’t,” Dwayne stopped singing, so I did too.
Dwayne looked from Joe to me. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I didn’t know.” Joe said.
I looked at Joe who looked awestruck. “Joe, don’t…”
“Now you HAVE to sing it. It’s family tradition.” Dwayne prodded, vamping the introduction again. Now the people around us joined in, trying to encourage me to sing.
I looked at Joe. He wrapped his arms around me until his mouth was next to my ear. “Baby,” His voice was low and sexy, and I got wet just hearing it. “What I just heard was beautiful. It doesn’t matter what happened in your past. We are your family now, and we want to hear you sing. I promise nothing bad will happen. It’s time to replace those old memories with new, happy ones.” I turned to look at him, and I saw complete love. I eyed the others around the fire, and I saw complete acceptance, but still…..
I nodded at Dwayne; a bit surer of myself now. He started the song over, ready to sing along if necessary, but I sang on my own. “I heard there was a secret cord.”
Dwayne smiled big and encouraged me, “Louder. You sound great.”
“That David played, and it pleased the Lord.” I sang it a little bit louder.
Joe whispered in my ear again, “Please baby, Keep going. I want to hear.”
Louder, “But you don’t really care for music, do you?”
“Belt it out Y/N,” Dwayne urged.
My voice quivered as I started the next line, but honestly, I hadn’t sung in so long, and it felt so right to just lose myself in the song, so I looked up at Joe and continued. “It goes like this, the fourth the fifth. The minor fall and the major lift.”
“Let go baby. Let go for me.” Joe whispered to me, and I did.
“The baffled king composing Hallelujah.”
Dwayne stopped suddenly, looking at me. “I’ll make a deal with you.” I was intrigued. “If you really sing the song, like put all of your power behind it, I’ll buy you and Joe an hour-long massage tomorrow.” That was tempting.
“Two!” I challenged.
Dwayne laughed, “Two massages?”
“No. Two hours.” Everyone laughed now.
“It’s a deal kid, but you have to really belt it out. Pretend you’re giving a concert in front of your most adoring fans. Got it?” He challenged me this time.
I just smiled, knowing I was about to blow him away. “Deal.” I said as I rose from the ground to get more lung capacity. I sat next to Joe.
Dwayne began to play the intro, and I let go. I sang like I would only sing for myself alone in the shower.
“I heard there was a secret chord that David played, and it pleased the Lord, but you don’t really care for music, do ya?” Joe ran his hand over my back, smiling at me, and I could feel his pride. “It goes like this, the fourth the fifth. The minor fall and the major lift.” I really put emphasis on the last line, “The baffled King composes Halleluiah.”
Trinity yelled out, “Wooo! Get it Y/N.” Her rowdy cheer spurred me on. I looked to see both Fatu families smiling at me. There was complete acceptance and awe in the eyes of everyone around the fire, and as I started the second verse, people wandered over from the second fire, wanting to hear me sing.
“Your faith was strong, but you needed proof. You saw her bathing on the roof. Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you.” The next line should be stronger, but I normally tried to hide my voice. Feeling encouraged, I did it the way it should be sung. “She tied you to her kitchen chair.” Trinity wooted again. “She broke your throne and she cut your hair.”The song built.
Jimmy yelled, “Get it sister Uce!
“And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah.”
I expected Dwayne to stop now, but he nodded at me as he played on. “Let’s hear it. Slay this verse!” I sang the chorus, lost in the music. Lost in the vibrations in my chest and my abs. “Halleluuuuuuuuujah.”
Joe beamed with pride at the crowd around us, which was growing considerably with each note. I noticed Jimmy had his phone out. I wasn’t sure if he was filming or if he was face timing our friends again, but I knew I was making Joe proud, so I ignored it.
“Well, maybe there's a God above, but all I've ever learned from love, Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew ya. And it's not a cry that you hear at night. It's not somebody who's seen the light.” This was the big moment. I tried desperately to ignore everyone around me but Joe and I belted it out, strong and beautiful. “It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah.” The crowd around the fire erupted in cheers and applause.
I stopped, figuring that was enough, but Dwayne keep playing, prompting me to sing more. “Go on baby,” Joe whispered in my ear.
“Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah” I brought the song to a close.
I thought the cheers before were loud. When the song ended, everyone went wild with cheers, applause….. it was insane, and as pride washed over me, I began to feel guilty for enjoying the attention. “That was amazing!” Dwayne said as Joe pulled me closer into his side and kissed my temple.
“That’s my girl.” He said half to me and half to the crowd. He leaned close to my ear now. “Baby, that was beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.” I looked to find him smiling at me, soft and gentle and full of pride.
“Do another one!” Trinity yelled, and the crowd started chanting “Another one. Another one.”
Dwayne laughed and looked at me. “What do you say?”
“Let someone else play,” I tried to generously cede everyone’s attention.
Someone yelled “Noooo!” loudly.
Dwayne laughed. “I think we found our winner. Game is over.” He gestured toward the crowd. “Your audience wants another one.” He poised his hands over the guitar.
My mind frantically scanned my memory to pick another song. It would have to be well known so Dwayne would know it. “Ummmm…. Somewhere Over The Rainbow?” I asked, and he answered by starting the song.

Here I go (oh boy, sorry for the terrible English, I’m actually Brazilian so this is hard) (i was about to be like holaaaaaaaa otro latino but then i remembred yall speak porch of geese fml. anyway hi. mod mangles on the case)
Name: Dolly the Dog
Species: Dog
Gender: Female
Job: The narrator of the shows/babysitter
Purpose: To help with the narration during the shows and to take care of the lost children in the establishment. Children are instructed to, if they ever lose sight of their parents, stay close to the stage and play with her; the parents are instructed to look there first. If the parents don’t come back to take their child, one of the employees has to discover where the child lives and take the poor kid home. If the kid is not comfortable with the employee, they can take their favorite animatronic to accompany them (this was only permitted after one incident, in which a girl made a scandal because she didn’t wanted to go with the day guard to her house). while i think the concept of a kid showing up to someone’s house with like a 6 ft furry robot is funny, i don’t see this really panning out in practice. as iffy as i am about it, i think the “babysitter/lost child center” thing can stay as is, but i think employees would defer to calling parents first (if the child is old enough to have memorized a phone number/have a phone), local authorities, or CPS.
Creator: Sarah Brown (another OC), the owner of the establishment and the creator of all the animatronics.
Location: The Showtime Funland, a restaurant for all the family (but specially for their children). It’s a vibrant, cheery and colorful place, where there are seven animatronics: Ollie the Owl, Billy the Bird, Fany the Fish, Charlie the Cat, Dolly the Dog, Happy and Lucky. Happy and Lucky are the only human-ish animatronics, and both of them are out of order during the game, and the others are the main actors of the stage, where they tell stories with musicals during the meals on the restaurant or just stay on the playground with the kids; the only one who can’t go to the playground during the day is Dolly, who’s programmed to stay and take care of the children waiting for their parents.
Where: On the stage; she sits on the front of the stage, on the right, and narrates the story that’s being performed.
Age: She’s the oldest animatronic: seven years of functioning. Her character is older than that, because of her old version, but since it was malfunctioning in a way which wasn’t even possible to take lightly, she was replaced by her new version. Her character is 14 years old. this is a little unclear to me…has she been in service for 14 years, or is the character supposed to be like a 14 year old child? i don’t think animatronics really need ages tbh but i dont see any issue with this either, so you can scrap this detail if you feel unsure about it.
Haunted/not: She is not haunted, but her program is malfunctioning; her AI is not recognizing the faces of the employees during the night for “unknown reasons”, and she attacks them as if they are “threats to the establishment”, in a way that she wasn’t programmed to do; she was supposed to call the police if any intruder came, but she becomes aggressive during the night because of someone meddling with her system.
During the game: The first thing the game shows is a cutscene, where the night guard is guided through the whole building by the day guard (called “Steve Hughes” by Annie, but it’s not known if this is the same day guard or not), and is introduced to the animatronics and told a bit of the story behind the establishment. It was created by Sarah Brown, a famous inventor, and was a well known establishment since its opening during the 80’s. During its history in business, there where countless robbers and stupid teenagers trying to get in and mess around with the things inside Funland, so the night guard was supposed to deal with these problems; but the animatronics, after a terrible incident in which the night guard was attacked by a robber, received a new AI capable of recognizing the faces of the employees and to give the night guard an alert if there was any intruder. The night guard is left alone to watch the cameras while listening to “Annie”’s recordings, since she was the last night guard, and discover about the malfunctioning of the AIs. In the third night, Annie quits, leaving the player with her guide about how to avoid the animatronics and with some recordings of how to flee if there’s something happening during the night (like a fire, for example) without getting caught. First, only Ollie and Fany are threats, but through night two and three Billy and Charlie too start to malfunction; in the end of night three, Dolly starts to do so as well. In the fifth night, Happy and Lucky also leave the deposit where they are hidden to attack the player. On the sixth bonus night, Annie left an odd recording of her and Sarah talking about the AIs of the animatronics, and Sarah implies that she knows of someone who would “do anything to make his business bigger than mine again, and wouldn’t hesitate to sabotage my creations”, as if she knows about the malfunctioning.
During the nights (3-5 (and bonus night)): She is the most predictable and organized of the animatronics, always making this specific path: first she leaves the stage, where she normally is, then goes through the playground (and stays there for a while), passes by the kitchen, through the deposit (where the audio doesn’t work, but the camera does), and then to the left corridor to the night guard’s office. She never changes her path, but as the game progresses she begins to become more and more fast and, since the other animatronics are more unpredictable, it’s harder to pay attention to her movements. Annie says, on her second recording, that she’s afraid of all the animatronics besides Dolly, since she is “the less threatening”; but, on her guide to escape on night four, she seems to have changed her mind (or it was a previous recording, before she labeled Dolly as “predictable and almost harmless”), it doesn’t chronologically make sense to have this be a previous recording, unless you intend to imply that annie went back and remade recordings for nights 1-3 right before she quit in addition to the night 4 guide. saying that “it would be best if you pay attention to her, since she’s fast and difficult to see without the flashlights”.
Skill: She tries to kill the player, first at the end of night three until night five (and the sixth bonus night). Dolly has a very advanced AI and is equipped with a recognition system, at least a hundred plays and stories on her memory, a voice system that helps her to change her voice when needed, the ability to sing, dance and interact with humans properly, and a system that can regulate her body heat. i was gonna say a hundred seems a bit much but idk how many stories the storyteller-esque animatronics are programmed to have tbh. if youre aiming to make the restaurant one of those cheaper places, id recommend scaling this number down.
Personality: During the day, Dolly is incredible cocky and arrogant when it comes to her role as the narrator, and she proclaims herself the “star of the show”, something her old version had but was even worse, coming to the extreme of pushing another animatronic off the stage and destroying it completely after getting annoyed by the poor robot. She’s kind with the children and the adults alike, but acts more politely with the elder and more sisterly with the younger audience; she says, during the game, that it’s horrible to never be able to go to the playground, but that she loves to take care of the lost children. During the night, she becomes a very aggressive but organized animatronic, something that her personality has during daytime as well; she is often annoyed by the others, since they sometimes go against the script for comic relief. Dolly is the most talkative of the animatronics during their attempts to kill the player, often bragging about her role as the narrator and star of the Showtime Funland and threatening to “end the show” of the night guard.
Appearance: A black and white dog (white on her mouth, chin, hands and belly), with big, glowing brown-yellowish eyes. Her ears are long and fall by the sides of her head, and she has paws instead of feet, but still has hands. She wears a magician hat with a blue bow on it, and sometimes during her show takes it off, just to reveal something inside of it that can help during the play (for example, a sword so that the protagonist can slay the dragon or a pie to the little protagonist give as a gift to a friend); she also wears a blue bowtie that matches her hat’s bow.
ok, final thoughts:
i was going to comment on how high-quality these animatronics seem to be, but given that you go out of your way to describe Sarah Brown as a very competent mechanic(? is that the right term idk), i think ill let it go. this seems like one of those higher end fancy-ish restaurants so most of this can slide, unlike if you were to make the location be some sort of cheap or dirty diner.
no notes on the story, i think it works well. the game seems to have kind of a steep difficulty spike towards the latter half with nights 3, 4, and 5, but thats not really an issue i think because you deal with more shit on fnaf 2 anyway. there were some iffy bits here and there, but nothing too bad that was worth pointing out or changing, so overall this is a solid character! good job :D

Shattered Lives Ch 23 Pt 2
He let her sleep in, knowing that tomorrow she’d have to be up at five and rushing around. With the kids ready and lunches made he watched her sleep, etching that picture in his mind. He sat on the edge of the bed and toyed with her hair, content as it fell through his fingers. She didn’t stir which told him she’d slept heavy and well, which was what he was after. He kissed the nape of her neck and she breathed in sharply, head wobbling up off the pillow as she got her bearings.
“Cases to slay my lovely lawyer.” He murmured, kissing her temple as her head flopped back on the pillow.
“I was hoping time had stopped so you’d still be snuggled with me.” She chuckled.
“The sooner I go the sooner I’ll be back.”
She rolled and looked at him. Crisp white shirt and jeans. Was the guy TRYING to kill her. She hooked a finger into the V and pulled him to her for a kiss, sinful and slow.
“You can’t kiss me like that before you have to go to work.” He growled.
“Well you shouldn’t have worn that shirt.” She shot back and grinned against his mouth. “You know what that does to me.”
“Maybe it’s all part of my plan.” His eyebrows wiggled and she laughed, he was such a goofball. “There’s always the parking garage.” He grinned and she playfully slapped him.
“You’re never gonna let me live that down are you?” She said sitting up and kissing him before climbing out of bed.
“Not a chance, besides...” He caught her around the waist with a chuckle and pulled her to him, naked and already aroused. “I like playing this game with you.” His growl sent a shot of heat to her core.
“You might get lucky at lunch. You still coming?” She asked softly.
“I’ll be there, but you’ll be the one coming love.” He kissed her, devoured that mouth until she whimpered. “Get in the shower.” He said softly. “You can’t be late.”
“Tease.” She quipped playfully.
“Pancakes?”
“Sure.” He walked her to the bathroom door before prying her hands from around his neck kissing them both.
“This weekend can’t come soon enough.” He murmured and kissed her sweetly.
“As long as you bring this shirt with you.” She grinned.
“Oh it’s already a done deal.” He chuckled and let her get in the shower.
She made his head spin and his world light up, so did the four kids at the table. Lily squealed for him with a dad dad and he cleaned her up before pulling her out of the high chair.
“Do you have to go?” Finn asked quietly.
“Only for a little bit. I’ll be back Wednesday morning.” He hugged the kid close sensing that the separation for him would be worse this time around. “It’s just work buddy and if I could, I’d take you all with me but you have school, I have work, and I need someone here to make sure Ama is ok.”
“We’ll make sure she eats.” Brendan said quietly as he watched her bedroom door, the kid knew what Gustaf was asking.
“It’s getting her to stop work and sleep that concerns me.” He chuckled. “But yes, please make sure she eats. And I have a special job for you Finn, if you’re up for it?” The kid nodded. “I need you to give Ama a big hug from me before you go to bed, when you get up, and when you get home from school ok?”
“I can do that.” His grin spread wide.”
“I knew I could count on you.” He said as he ruffled the kids hair.
She would be the death of him walking in dressed as she was. Dark brown suit, gold shirt that shimmered with burgundy, and that damn black lace he could just glimpse under it, the sky high heels that put them eye to eye, and her hair neatly coiled up in that fucking clip. His goddess, sexy as fuck.
He stood at the counter and watched as she hugged the kids and made her way over to him. With a cheeky smirk across her dark burgundy tinted lips she stopped in front of him and let her fingers sneak into the V of his open shirt. Her kiss was smoldering, that slow deep kiss that set his brain on fire.
“Good morning love.” Her purr only added to his predicament, to fuck her now quickly or make her wait. She kissed him sinfully, pouring herself into him. “Cat got your tongue?” She asked when she let him breathe again, those ocean blue eyes finding hers as she gazed at him from under her lashes.
His hand seductively trailed her hip and fanned out over her lower back before he pulled her in close. He ghosted her lips and jaw before kissing her cheek and lingering. Damn she smelled delicious.
“No, but a sex kitten might have more than my tongue.” He growled, nipping the shell of her ear gently. “You might find yourself in a predicament at lunch time.” He kissed her tenderly. “Is your office private, does it have a lock?”
“Yes.” She chuckled. “But we can’t, not there I’ll get fired if we’re caught.” She said seriously and although it would be thrilling to have him fuck her there she couldn’t risk it, shouldn’t risk it.
“There’s always the parking garage.” He quipped and her laugh had him grinning. “Either way love, I’m having you before I leave today, and we won’t get caught. I’ll make sure of it. Eat, fuel up. You’re gonna need it.” He kissed her and reluctantly let her go.
“Can you get out for lunch earlier?” He asked as he placed a plate of pancakes in front of her a little while later.
“I’ll certainly try.”
With the kids fed and clothed, lunches packed, Sildie stood on her threshold and looked at him. Her gorgeous man in a white button down and slim fitting jeans, life couldn’t be more perfect than right now she thought. That smile on his lips, only for her.
“I’ll text you when I’m on my way.” He murmured.
“You in court this morning?” He asked.
“No it’s an office day today.” She kissed him and lingered, fuck he smelled so good she wanted to bury her face in his neck and nibble.
“Good to know.” He grinned. Cupping a hand behind her neck he held her a breath away and let his eyes drift over her before he kissed her so her toes curled and her mind blanked.
“I’ll see you later.” She sighed as she stepped away and into the elevator.
He heard the devilish chuckle as she bit her lip, doors almost closed. Damn if she didn’t make him hard and wanting.
One day love.
Came his text as she got in the car and she couldn’t help the small whimper at what he’d done to her that day. He was right, every time she did it she thought about how he’d immobilized her and fucked her senseless.
He tidied up her apartment from breakfast and went home to pack, not that he’d need much. He sat with a fresh pot of tea and took care of some last minute emails and by eleven he was heading out the door for a cab. He texted her on the way and grinned, damn he wanted her, like a randy fucking teenager.
He took the short walk to her office and was surprised when the receptionist walked him straight back, she’d told them he was coming. He thanked the receptionist and was sure his smile made the girl sigh. Her office wasn’t what he’d imagined as he glanced around. Dark wood, old time male Executive. He wondered now if the light and bright office they’d made for her would be a good fit. He could always change it if she hated it.
She was standing with her boss as he entered and after the usual pleasantries were observed they were finally alone. He placed their lunch on the coffee table and let her say goodbye to her boss. She closed the door quietly and he pressed her against it gently. His kiss was tender but seductive, that erotic taste flooding her system.
“I want you.” He murmured, flicking the lock on her door quietly.
“Gustaf I’ll lose my job if we get caught.” She said honestly but her pussy clenched at the thought of him taking her here.
“Then we’ll make sure we don’t get caught.” He growled and kissed that treacherous spot below her ear. Her low moan made his cock twitch in response. “Lets eat.” He said softly. Her grin against his lips before he kissed her made him laugh. “Done by one right?”
“Yeah, I have a one o’clock with Lucas.” She smirked and felt his gaze as his hands tightened.
“Well, you’d better eat so I can see you’re properly satisfied before then.” He grinned.
They talked over their meal, plans for Christmas Eve, for Christmas Day, and skirted her birthday. He wouldn’t push that today, he wanted to be home if she was going to be mad at him or fall apart or maybe both. It was his idea, the kids just jumped on board, he’d take the heat if it came to that.
“This office doesn’t really suit you.” He said quietly. “Too dark.”
Her peal of laughter made him smile. It had been a while since he’d heard that laugh.
“To tell you the truth, I fucking hate it. It’s too dark, too much wood, too much male executive ego, if I’m being honest.” She said as she cleaned up their containers and dumped it in the trash.
“The one good thing though.” He said stepping to her and pulling her sharply into him so her spine rested against his chest. “Is it has a lock on the door.” He growled.
“We can’t. It will be my ass in a sling.”
“Do you trust me?” He murmured, and kissed her neck where her blouse had opened.
“Yes.” She sighed as he chipped away at her control.
“We won’t get caught.” He turned her in his arms and kissed her, that slow burn that made her moan softly. “You’ll have to be quiet love.” He purred as he took her by the hand and led her to her desk.
He sat in her chair and spread his legs wide so she could stand between them. Those talented hands drifted up her thighs and disappeared under the hem of her skirt slowly, bunching it up around her waist. He kissed her as a finger stroked over her g string and he groaned into her mouth.
“You’re soaked for me already love.” His arousal surged at the thought of sinking his cock into that wet heat.
He devoured her mouth as his fingers ripped her g string down and held it as she stepped out of it. Those fingers tormented her thighs on the way back up before they destroyed her pussy. He had her teetering on the edge in minutes. He spun her quickly and continued to keep her hovering on that edge as he unzipped his jeans.
Damn him and those fingers she thought as she tried desperately to hold off until he was inside her. The sound of his zipper made a soft whimper escape and she swallowed it. They’d be so fucking dead if they were caught, she’d be fired, on the spot fired. It was reckless but she found she couldn’t resist him.
“Hands on the desk.” He growled and nipped her ear.
No sooner had her palms hit the timber he stroked his head over her labia and thrust in hard. She gasped his name as he started to move, urgent powerful strokes that filled her deep. She rocked back to meet his thrusts and that was the end of them both.
He pistoned his hips, hard, fast, brutally urgent. His fingers tormented her sensitive bud and he felt her tremble.
“Go over, don’t hold back.” He growled and pounded into her, fingers furiously circling her clit.
She came hard, almost cracking her teeth she clenched them so tightly so she didn’t scream his name how she wanted to. As her pussy clamped around his cock tightly he thrust faster until his release crashed through him. He leaned forward and kissed the back of her neck before pulling out and zipping up.
With a shit eating grin he sat in her chair, cleaned her up with the scrap of lace before pocketing it, and tugged the hem of her skirt down while she stood there trembling and panting. He pulled her into his lap and kissed her tenderly.
“You’re evil.” She said pointing a finger at him, that sly smirk twitching her lips.
“Didn’t get caught though.” He grinned.
“It can’t become a regular thing.” She said sternly. “I just find it really hard to resist you when you touch me like that.”
“Thank you.” He said softly and trailed a finger down her jaw. “For indulging me.” He kissed her, that love he held onto so tightly pouring out of him.
“Don’t make it a habit ok?”
“I won’t.”
They sat there for the remaining ten minutes in each other’s arms, stolen kisses that spoke volumes.
She knew all eyes were on them as they walked out. She’d have to get used to it when they went out in public together. She didn’t like it but that was part of his deal, the celebrity he was.
“Looks like you turned my admin into a puddle of goo, what did you say to her?” She chuckled when they were waiting for the elevator.
“Hello.” He said simply. “She was a little stunned when I told her I was here for you.”
“I don’t think she believed me when I said you would be joining me for lunch.” She said and as soon as the elevator doors opened his mouth found hers destroying every thought in her brain. He left her dizzy.
“I’ll call you when I land.” There was no way in hell he was going to fuck this up again.
“See that you do love.” She kissed him tenderly. “You’re my everything Gustaf, remember that when it gets rough ok?”
“I’ll text you or call you if it gets bad. I promise.” That was a promise he had every intention on keeping from here on out. “Bye love.” He kissed her again and couldn’t help notice the lawyer sitting in the waiting room watching them as he drew back. It was her opposing counsel. He grinned and kissed her like it was with his last dying breath. Mine it said, hands and eyes off.
“Bye. Be safe please.” She said, her voice quavering.
“Always.” As the doors closed she let the steadying breath out. His last kiss left her lightheaded and swimming in arousal.
She straightened herself and walked back to the office as if nothing had just transpired. She saw the look her admin gave her and chuckled. Gustaf has ruined her, poor kid.
“Hi Lucas, come on back.” She said cheerfully, there was no stopping the smile.
Lucas waited until they were in the conference room alone before asking.
“So you’re dating a Skarsgård?” He asked quietly.
“I am, however that’s not up for discussion, even an off the record discussion.” She said firmly.
“You know his history?” Lucas asked, he was concerned and he was also painfully in love with her. What did the junkie have that he didn’t he wondered.
“Lucas, I appreciate your concern, but yes, I do know his history, and I’ll say it again, it’s not up for discussion.” She glared at him. He knew that glare. “My private life and who I choose to date is none of anyone’s business, including yours. Drop. It.”
He put his hands up in an I surrender. “I just want to see you happy Sil. The kids...”
“Are fine.” She snapped cutting him off and glared at him over her glasses. “And I am happy.” She said with a smile and a finality he knew all to well. “Deliriously. Now, let’s talk depositions.” She opened the file he’d placed on the table and pushed her anger down. “Also, don’t call me Sil, you know I fucking hate it.” She glared at him and he knew he’d crossed a line.
She walked Lucas out and closed the door to her office for a brief moment breathing out a shaky sigh. Where the fuck did he get off she thought, the anger bubbling up? She got the whole looking out for her thing but where the fuck did he get off? She was a grown ass woman, raising her brothers four kids, in love with a man that had given her more in the past few months than anyone had ever done throughout her entire life, with the exception of her brother. It irritated her when people stuck their nose into her business, her private life.
She was responsible for the safety of those kids not Lucas. And in what fucking universe did he think it was ok to call her Sil, only her brother got to call her that? Her inner fury was interrupted by Gustaf’s tone and she smiled, he’d landed.
“Hi lovely lady.” He murmured, she could hear the smile in his voice.
“Hi.” She breathed out relieved, and tried to contain the anger in her voice.
“You ok?” He asked. Fuck she thought the man picked up on that anger and frustration from one word, damn it he knew her too well.
“Yeah, just shit, I’ll be ok, can we talk about it when you get home?” She asked quickly.
“Of course. Unless you want me to phone in later tonight and we can chat? Get it off your chest so it’s not eating at you?” Please, he thought, please let me in love, he pleaded silently.
“Yeah ok. I’m sorry.” She didn’t want to tell him about Lucas because, well, all males got possessive and pissy when another male either showed interest or upset their woman. She knew Gustaf would be no different and with the Ana stuff still hanging over them she didn’t want to spark something while not face to face.
“It’s fine love, together remember?” He had no idea what had upset her but he wouldn’t have it destroying her over the next few days while he was away.
“Ok.” She breathed out, feeling somewhat better that he would be there to listen.
“Whatever it is love we’ll tackle it together. Breathe.” He said softly, and smiled when she let the stressed out breath she was holding whoosh out. “I have a dinner meeting tonight. I’ll call after, around ten or so?”
“I’ll be up.” She scoffed. “Reading as usual.”
“I had no doubt.” He chuckled. “I miss you Sildie.” He said softly.
“I miss you too, so ridiculously.” She chuckled. “I have to go my four o’clock is here.” She said as her next client walked in the door.
“I’ll call you tonight love.”
“Ok, Bye.” She hung up, squared her shoulders, and got back to business. She couldn’t let this minor hiccup derail her or the progress her and Gustaf had made in the past week.
Gustaf tapped his phone in his hand thinking while they drove to the hotel. His thoughts ran to the worst case scenario that someone had heard them fooling around in her office and she had been fired, but she was still at work so maybe that wasn’t it. It wasn’t grief either, he knew that sound in her voice and this was more annoyance and irritation than grief. He’d give her the time this afternoon to chew on it before prying it from her, it was how her brain worked. She needed time to process it before she dealt with it.
The remainder of her day went by quickly and without fuss, just how she liked it. The kids were a little down as they came home knowing Gustaf wouldn’t be there tonight. However their faces lit up when he squeezed a quick five minute call in before his dinner meeting to talk to them.
She stayed in the kitchen while they had their time with Gustaf. Her heart lightened hearing the laughs and jokes fly between them, Lily perched on Brendan’s lap squealing a dad dad at him. His laugh was relaxed, unrestrained. Sildie grinned, he was moving past it all, finding that peace he craved, he deserved.
Dinner was happier, the call with Gustaf being just what they needed. Reassureance, that connection with him, that they were important, that he cared. Finn came out to her well after she’d tucked them in and wrapped his arms around her tightly.
“You ok kiddo?” She said ripping her glasses off. She was a little concerned as he’d gone to bed without fuss.
“Yep, I just promised Gustaf I’d give you big hugs from him before bed because you’d miss him hugging you.” He said and hugged her again. “I forgot to do that before bed.”
Her heart got stuck in her throat. “You give the best hugs.” She said softly and hugged him tightly.
“Do you miss him?”
“Gustaf?” She asked and the kid nodded. “Very much. But he has work to do, just like me, and just like you have school. It’ll get easier.” She hoped, fuck she hoped it did because today seemed harder than the ones before it.
“Night Ama, love you.”
“Love you too. Back to bed now, straight to sleep.” She watched him go and smiled, Gustaf had tried to ease them into this separation and her heart swelled.
She was deeply in lawyer land when he called.
“There’s my beautiful lawyer.” He said as his face popped up on the screen. Damn she missed him, that smile, those crows feet she desperately wanted to rub her thumb over. “Sorry it’s so late love, I got tied up.” He said as she looked at the clock, it was just after eleven.
“It’s ok I’m still reading.” She smiled and put her work to the side. She picked up the laptop and moved it to the kitchen counter so she could make tea. “Everything go ok for you?”
“It was fine, those meetings are always laid back.”
“Thank you for calling earlier, the kids were miserable on the way home knowing you weren’t going to be here tonight.” She said gently. “I miss you.” Her voice was quiet.
“I miss you too love.” He could see it, the sadness that they were miles apart. “I figured they would be feeling a little down. They doing better now?”
“Yes, they’re good. We had another long talk about you being away for work. It’ll be fine, with time it’ll get easier.” She sighed. “I hope.”
“I’m sorry love.” He knew it was tougher on the kids, which by default made it harder on Sildie.
“Don’t be. You’re doing what you love. Never apologize for that.” She looked at him and he nodded. She wouldn’t be that person, she wouldn’t be Ana.
“So what got under your skin and irritated you love?” He asked carefully.
“Fuck where do I start!” She huffed as the kettle boiled.
“Start with what happened after I left that put that anger in those beautiful eyes.” He said gently. He would listen, he wouldn’t get upset, he had to be her rock just as she was his when he was feeling the same way.
“I was irritated when someone poked their nose into my private life. It’s none of their fucking business who I date and even if it was they don’t get to tell me to be careful because of your past history. And they certainly don’t get to try to throw the kids in the conversation.” She felt the fury bubble up. Ok maybe she was angrier about it than she first thought.
“I’m assuming the mention of my history was prior to my sobriety?” He asked carefully. It wasn’t a secret he’d been a party animal along with the drugs and alcohol and women.
“I didn’t ask for them to elaborate. It’s none of their fucking business, or mine for that matter.” She grumbled.
“I’m an open book with you Sildie, if you want to know something you only have to ask.” He looked at her and saw her shoulders relax.
“I know.” She breathed out. “I know you’ll answer anything I ask about that side of your life but to be honest I don’t need to know. That was then, this is now, and you’re sober. That’s all that matters.”
“Look at me love.” He said gently as his heart swelled to bursting at her trust in him. He continued when she did. “Most people, look for the bad in everything, in everyone. It’s worse for those of us in the limelight. I don’t give a shit what they say about me Sildie, because I know the truth and I know what I am now. I’ve moved on from that part of my life. I’m sober and that allows me to be with you. I know what happens if I slip up and I have absolutely no intention of allowing that to happen.” His tone was low and soft, not a hint of anger and it soothed her. “Ever.”
“But what right does he have to fucking stick his nose into our business, your past?”
“Absolutely none, and I’m assuming you told him as much.” He was struggling to stay calm when he wanted to know who the guy was and rip him apart for making her feel this way. He had his suspicions who it was but couldn’t be sure.
“I did.” She breathed out and scrubbed a hand over her face. “Rather abruptly.” She poured her tea and took the laptop back to the table to sit. “Even though he was one of Quinn’s best friends it doesn’t give him the right to ask those questions and pry.” She spat half heartedly.
“No it doesn’t.” He let the anger dissipate, he had to tread carefully here. The fact it tied back to her brother was a recipe for potential disaster. “Can I ask you something?”
“Anything.” She shrugged and sipped her tea.
“Are you talking about opposing counsel?” He asked, keeping the irritation out of his voice. Willed his body to stay relaxed and neutral even though it was as taught as a bow string. Jealousy was an ugly emotion and he knew deep down he had no need to be feeling it.
“Opposing counsel?” She looked puzzled until the penny dropped. The only opposing counsel he would know was Lucas from the Meyertech case. “Yes, Lucas. Sorry, it took me a bit to put two and two together, you haven’t officially met him yet.” She said quietly.
“Not yet.” He growled, and it wasn’t that seductive growl that made her wet either. This was primal and exactly why she was hesitant in mentioning him. “You know he’s sweet on you.” He said half joking, half wanting to beat the guy bloody.
“I know.” She said watching him carefully.
His eyebrow shot up. “You know?” He huffed out trying desperately to keep that jealousy he felt well and truly out of it and under control.
“Yes. Lucas and I went to university together with Quinn.” She told him. “Are you jealous?” She asked seriously the lawyer surfacing. She wasn’t about to let this get out of hand and she knew, just knew, this went back to Ana.
“I don’t know. Do I need to be?” He said honestly. “The look he gave you as he walked away said enough of what he’d like to have happen between you two.”
“I know exactly what he wants to happen between us Gustaf. I’m not completely oblivious.” She said sternly, she wouldn’t let this get out of hand while they were miles apart. “He’s always has a thing for me. He asked while we were at university, before I left for the US, every time I came back for a visit, and he asked when I first came home to Sweden for the kids, it will be the same answer now as it was then, no.” She watched him carefully. “An unequivocal no.” She didn’t want to have this conversation over the phone but it looked as though they were having it regardless. “I don’t want him Gustaf, I’ve never wanted him.” She looked at the man she adored, the vulnerability in those dusty blue eyes making her heart sink.
“I’m just being stupid aren’t I?” He huffed, a little disgusted at himself for ever doubting her, for ever feeling that jealousy.
“Not stupid, honest, and I appreciate it. Just, please don’t punch him or anything. He’s a good guy, great lawyer, and was one of my brothers best friends.” She said and he nodded.
“I won’t. Unless he steps over a line.” He looked at her, the promise heavy in his words.
“Then he’ll get a fist in the mouth from me first and he fucking knows it.” The slight smirk on his face making her feel slightly better.
“It’s just, the way he looked at you sent me from I’m fine to jealous madman in a blink.” He felt ashamed that he’d even thought those ugly thoughts. “It’s a guy thing.” He huffed.
“I just want you love. I know this is what Ana did to you, isn’t it?” She asked gently already knowing his answer. “The games she’d play?”
“Yes.” He choked it back, that bitter taste of betrayal in his mouth.
“If I wanted to be with Lucas I would be, but I don’t. I just want you love, that hasn’t changed.” She watched him carefully.
“I know.” He said softly.
“We good?”
“The best. Let it be done now ok?” Done until he came face to face with Lucas. “Thank you.” He said gently.
“What for?” She huffed.
“For protecting me, my private life.” He said gently and her eyes snapped to his. “Not many have, outside of my immediate family.”
“I... of course.” His slight smile made her belly uncoil. The stress of the conversation lessening.
“Please don’t let it bother you love.” He said gently. “Unfortunately there’ll be more of it once word gets out that we’re dating.”
“I figured, I just got so mad when he made assumptions that he had no right to make and no information to back any of it up.” She breathed out letting the last of it out. “Anyway, thanks for hearing me out.”
“Anytime love.”
“And thanks for not getting all male over it.”
His laugh made her smile. “Getting all male?”
“Yes.” She giggled. “Like the beating of chests and dick measuring.” She grinned.
“The only dick measuring we’ll be doing love is me thrusting inside you and fitting snugly.” He growled.
“You know my office still smells like sex.” She quipped with a grin.
“Good.” He winked. “You’re beautiful Sildie.”
“Only to you.”
“You should get to bed, you have to be up early love.” He said gently, he was hoping she would rest now.
“Yeah I’m beat. I miss you. It sounds corny and it’s only for tonight and tomorrow night but...” She shrugged. “I’m not going to sleep well either without you here.”
“I miss you too love and I know I won’t sleep well either. Well, maybe better because I have this.” He held up her g string from today.
“So that’s where it went, I should’ve known.” She smirked. “I looked for that damn thing for nearly an hour freaking out that someone would find it.”
“It smells just like you love.” His tone low and silky. “I can’t wait for this weekend.” He growled.
“Me either. I have plans.” She winked.
“Oh do you now?”
“Mmm hmm, plans and moves.” She purred.
“Well then, the weekend better hurry it’s ass up.”
“You better go sleep then.” He quipped.
“Yeah, you too love. I’ll try and call in the morning for the kids.”
“Ok.” She yawned. “If you can’t it’s ok.”
“I’ll try. Go sleep love.”
“You too.”
Hanging up was always the hardest. He closed the laptop and breathed out. Their conversation went better than he’d hoped. He wouldn’t punch Lucas but if he crossed her again they would be having words. He wouldn’t see someone use his past, his history, to fuck with her or the kids, even if the intention was looking out for their best interests.
He showered and climbed into bed, her g string wrapped around his hand. Damn he missed her, that warm lush body against him, the smell of her hair. He fell into sleep a little while later with thoughts of their weekend and how he would say those words she deserved to hear.
Sildie crawled into bed at one. She hadn’t gone straight to bed because she knew it would be cold and he wasn’t there to snuggle into. She’d hidden his white dress shirt he’d worn last week, the one that she’d fucked him in. It still smelled like him and she breathed deeply as she settled. Sleep and exhaustion took her in moments.

OTP list, 40 "I want a baby," but if that's not your cuppa, 35 "I wouldn't want to fight you, you're pretty feisty," for who else? Cullrian. :3
Angst Prompts or OTP Prompts
ok....... normally u right. babies aren’t my thing. but I like to think i’m pretty capable of twisting something to suit me. xD have both prompts! dorian: how old are babies anyway? 9? 10?
35. “I wouldn’t want to fight you, you’re pretty feisty.” + 40. “I want a baby.”
--
When the practice ring in the courtyard wasn’t filled with soldiers and mages, it was full of children playing at it. Dorian found it distasteful at best, if for no other reason than because there were hardly ever any actual magelings invited to join in, but mainly because he thought it sent the wrong message to continue to allow a game whose premise seemed to be ‘capturing’ or ‘slaying’ the children begrudgingly accepting their role as mage.
It did have his benefits, as every so often Dorian got to watch a snotty child trip over their own too-big stick they were using as a sword. Or today, after having his attention drawn over by some particularly colorful language that should never have come out of a boy no more than seven’s mouth, Dorian got to see one of them get a healthy zap from a little girl, a little mage, who was tired of playing along. When she was met with a chorus of unfair’s, she only turned up her nose and claimed that she was only making their game more realistic.
It made a smug smirk spread on Dorian’s lips, but when one of the children refused to move on and more sparks started flickering at the girl’s fingertips, he decided that the responsible adult thing to do was to step in. “Is everyone… playing nice?”
It was the little girl who squared up in front of Dorian, arms folded across her chest. “Everyone is fine.” A scowl formed on her face. “Unless you’re looking to learn the same lesson he did, old man.” She hooked a thumb over her shoulder toward the child who was still pouting over being shocked.
Dorian’s eyebrows shot up, his hand going to his chest, but the amused smile returned to his face. “No, no... by all means, I wouldn’t want to fight you, you’re a feisty one.” That seemed to please her, even more so when he backed off after that, letting them get back to it, but when he lingered, it was with renewed interest in the outcome of their game.
That’s how Cullen found him. He came up alongside Dorian and placed a hand at the small of his back as he leaned in to ask, “Who’s your coin on this time?” before brushing a kiss to Dorian’s cheek.
Dorian tolled his eyes and they continued to watch in silence until he declared, “I think I want one.” When only met with a confused expression he added, “A baby. One of those.” He nodded back toward the group of children.
Cullen let out a laugh that was cut short when he couldn’t determine how serious Dorian was. “Those are, by all means, not babies, love.”
“I want a little mageling just like that one,” he continued on, gesturing to where the little girl was demonstrating that she didn’t need magic to make make one of the other kids eat dirt. “Do you know she called me old?”
“I’m not quite sure I can provide what you’re after,” Cullen said with another laugh. “Would you settle for an apprentice?”
“I suppose I could find that agreeable,” Dorian decided. And then after a moment of thought, “But do you think tonight we could at least say we tried?” One corner of his mouth curled up into a smile and when he peeked over at Cullen he saw it mirrored.
“I suppose I could find that agreeable.”

Cooking Shenanigans
A fic for @aerinmelina whose birthday was a few days ago.
Everyone at Fablehaven knew what Friday nights entailed. Friday nights were the nights they all gathered together and played games until everyone either passed out or decided on a movie. It also seemed to be the only night of the week they could get everyone in one place at the same time nowadays. Between missions, trips to the fairy realm, duties around Fablehaven and everyone's separate living arrangements all of them truly spending time together  had become a rarity. The clock in the hall could be heard chiming through the halls informing anyone awake to the early hour. Kendra, Seth, Warren, Bracken, and Vanessa sat in a circle trying to quiet their laughter as they were the only ones still awake.
“Kendra, truth or dare.” Seth asked a mischievous glint in his brown eyes. Kendra groaned quietly before replying,
“ Truth.”
“You’re no fun.” Seth grumbled scrowling playfully, “ umm, name the worst dressed person in this room.”
“ Says the boy who wore Iron Man pajamas until he was 16.” Kendra replied, smirking.
“ Yeah and you wore unicorn pajamas until you got married.” Seth retorted a slight blush dusting his cheeks.
“ Bold of you to assume she doesn’t still wear them,” Bracken said, earning a smack on the arm from his wife.
. “Bracken, you traitor!” Kendra exclaimed, blushing as everyone dissolved into a fit of laughter. “Van, Truth or Dare?” she asked once everyone had settled back down.
“Hmm, Truth.” she replied, earning an eye roll from Seth.
“You guys are so boring.” he said sighing in exasperation.
“It is way too late for me to do whatever it is you would have me do.” Vanessa replied before looking at Kendra expectedly.
“ If you could change one thing about these Friday get-togethers what would you change?” Kendra replied after a minute causing Seth to groan
“ I mean I guess I wouldn’t mind not having to cook every Friday.” Vanessa replied jokingly and Kendra nodded in agreement.
“Yeah well we’ll go hungry otherwise.” Kendra replied with a smile.
“Hey, wait just a second, are you saying we can’t cook? .” Warren asked , causing Kendra and Vanessa to muffle their laughter.
“Fablehaven would end up in shambles with the three of you in the kitchen.” Kendra laughed
“ Is that a challenge?” Warren asked, narrowing his eyes. “ I bet we could do just as good as you could.” He replied gesturing to Seth and Bracken.
“Ok, it’s a bet.” Vanessa replied, narrowing her eyes at Warren “Next Friday you boys plan and cook the meal and snacks for the night, loser owes the winner a favor.
†††††
"Come on, guys, we have slayed demons, cooking can't be that much more difficult." Warren sighed as the brainstorming session  thirty minutes with nothing to show. Normally the lack of answers wouldn't bother him, but he refused to let Vanessa win again. The next Friday seemed to roll around quicker than usual, leaving the three boys standing in the kitchen completely unprepared for the big job that lay ahead of them.
“I can cook a pretty decent entrée from the Fairy realm.” Bracken offered when Warren's request for ideas received no reply. “ I’d just have to make a quick ingredient run.”
Great, maybe we’ll get extra points because it’s exotic.” Warren replied, turning to look at Seth,” Seth you’re on desert duty, it can’t be that hard to mess up a pan of brownies. And I'll cover the snacks, sound good?” and with that the three boys split up Warren to the cabinets, Seth in search of a brownie recipe, and Bracken out to get ingredients.
“Why are there no individual microwavable popcorn bags in here?” Warren asked after about  ten minutes of searching the cabinets and coming up with only a giant bag of popcorn kernels.
“ Because we live in a family that believes everything is better homemade. Which is amazing, until you’re the one making it.” Seth replied, not looking up from his phone as he continued to search for homemade brownie recipes that weren’t overly complicated.
“True but what do you expect me to do now? I have a feeling you can’t stick these in the microwave and call it done.” Warren asked.
“I don’t know. At least not knee deep in brownie recipes. I didn't know there were so many ways to fix brownies.” Seth replied, rolling his eyes.
“Oh come on, it can’t be that bad.” Warren said peering over Seth’s shoulder at the recipe he was currently looking at.
“Seriously, I've started to read these like I read science fiction, I get to the end and think well that's not going to happen.”
“ Seth you live in a world where dragons are real and your sister is married to a unicorn, I don’t think science fiction should surprise you anymore.” Warren replied through his laughter.
“Dude, That's fantasy.” Seth said, smiling and finally seeming to settle on a recipe as he headed to the fridge for ingredients.
“Whatever. That still doesn’t fix the problem of this popcorn though,” he pointed out, gesturing to the bag of kernel still in his arms. "pretty sure the girls aren't going to let us squeeze by without it. It's like the go to snack. Right after chips and dip."
“You need one of the popper things.” Bracken replied, walking into the kitchen with an armload of ingredients most of which were completely foreign to anyone but him. “It’s kind of circular with a clear top. I've seen Kendra use them before. ” He continued when his comment was met with blank stares. Shrugging his shoulders Warren began to once again search the cabinets, this time in search of a device that matched Bracken's description. Bracken set his ingredients on the counter closest to the stove and Seth claimed the one opposite to begin working. The two men worked in silence until Warren returned with popcorn popper and set it next to Seth triumphantly.
"Hey! I'm working here." Seth said, pulling an impressive new York accent. "Find your own counter."
"Make me, Sorenson." Warren joked regretting it when Seth's eyes flashed with mischievousness and his smirk turned lethal. Before he even had time to react, he felt the slimy cracking sensation of an egg cracking in his hair. "Oh, it is so on." He said, grabbing a fist full of flour and tossing it in his direction. Seth ducked instinctively causing Bracken, who had moved from his post by the stove, to receive a cloud of flour in the face. 'Yeah, this is going to take a while' Warren thought as Bracken stalked toward them with the spoon previously found in the brownie batter.
†††††
“ So, what kind of pizza are we ordering?” Vanessa asked when she and Kendra wandered into the kitchen later that evening.
“ Oh, now we are doing this. We’ve got dinner, desert and snacks, so get ready.” Warren replied, gesturing to the oven and a pan of what appeared to be brownie batter beside a tray of assorted snacks on the counter.
“ Wow, I’m impressed!” Kendra said happily, choosing to ignore the brownie batter on Bracken's face, the egg in Warren's hair, and the flour that covered most of the kitchen. As well as the many popcorn kernels that were sprinkled across the floor and counter. Evidence that someone had forgotten to put the lid on before popping it.
“ Wonderful, now as you’ve told me so many times, get out of the kitchen, go bother someone else.” Seth said, placing one hand on his hip and raising his voice in a horrible impression of Kendra  while waving a nearby spoon threateningly in their direction. Warren and Bracken dissolved into laughter while Kendra rolled her eyes and smiled at her little brother's antics before leaving with Vanessa in tow.
"Tell everyone that we are about ready to start" Bracken called after her while pulling the finished meal out of the oven and replacing it with the brownies. " Well, that's about it." Bracken declared with a smile, receiving nods from Warren and Seth.
"Yeah, all that's left to do is clean up." Warren replied before looking around and the chaos that surrounded them. Well, maybe they shouldn't have celebrated just yet.
†††††
Behold from chaos, order, from ugliness, beauty, from basic ingredients and an oven, brownies.” Seth announced proudly emerging from the kitchen a few minutes after everyone had finished eating. The brownies were lopsided and they looked a little underdone in the middle, but the thought still made Kendra smile. She had to admit the boys really had outdone themselves. The main course melted in your mouth, delicious despite its appearance. And they had even miraculously been able to clean the kitchen by the time it was time to eat, though she was pretty sure that Bracken played a major part in that. Kendra watched as Seth beamed at the compliments he got for his brownies. She couldn’t deny that they tasted incredible. Just gooey enough to melt in your mouth without becoming too overwhelming and the scoop of ice cream he served it with only served to make it better. The bright smiles and empty plates seemed to prove that everyone else agreed with her.
“So did we win?" Bracken whispered once their group had finished eating and retired to the living room to watch, or rather argue over, a movie.
“Yes, yes you did.” Kendra said, thinking back to the delicious meal and obvious fun the three men had shared.
"This means you now owe me a favor, princess." He mumbled mischievously.  Kendra hummed quietly content to snuggle closer to his side as a movie was finally decided on and the lights were turned off.

Soleil
Summary:
God of death with a gaze of woe, spoke to me and he told me so: "Fast, before I will lose control, please, have mercy and save my soul."
If you were to ask Soul, Maka was the sun and Soul was the moon, and Maka deserved the world.
Warnings:
Major Character Death | Brief Description of a Dead Body
AN:
This is based off the song Soleil by Toraboruta-P and I used the English translyrics by JoyDreamer. You can find her cover here. I personally really like Lizz's cover. I just think Lizz's softer voice goes with the tone of the song a bit more.
It’s like midnight for me at the moment so I apologise if there’s any mistakes or if it’s just generally trash, but like it’s too late now.

God of death with a gaze of woe, spoke to me and he told me so:
"Fast, before I will lose control, please, have mercy and save my soul."
Maka looks upon the being that used to resemble her dearest friend. If she looks closely she can still almost see ribbons of pink hair bursting out of the darkness. The ribbons are fast decreasing and she knows it won’t be long until they’re fully lost.
Soul pushes Maka back, brandishing a scythe to protect them from the blades. “Maka. Pay attention.” He thrusts the scythe forward and leaps back, reaching out to pull Maka with him.
“But Soul…” She breaths, hand ghosting her mouth. “Can’t you hear?” It’s evident in the way Soul doesn’t hesitate to defend the two of them that he can’t, but it’s all she can hear.
“Save me.” The being cries. “Help.” They continue. And the voice is so familiar that Maka fails to suppress a shudder.
“Chrona.” She whispers and that catches Soul’s attention. He puts more distance between them and the being. They retreat into the trees, knowing the being will have a harder time manoeuvering the terrain.
“What do you mean?” He leans against a tree, catching his breath.
“It’s Chrona.” She collapses to her knees. Her hands dig into the dirt as the tears run down her face. “It’s Chrona.”
All the pain you feel, I am sure you didn't wish for that
And the looks that you bear are so grim, those you wear
Maka can remember a simpler time when the three of them were kids. Chrona’s wings had always been slightly darker than her’s and Soul’s, but Maka passed it off as a trick of the light. They hadn’t shared much of their childhood with Soul and Maka, but the flashes Chrona gave away suggested it wasn’t pleasant. They had that in common with Soul.
The most common occurrence in these flashes had been the name ‘Medusa’. Maka had quickly decided she wasn’t a fan of Medusa, but she thought that Chrona was free as long as they were with her and Soul. She’d been wrong.
One day, Chrona had been there, the next, they were gone. Maka had dragged Soul along to search for them and on the way they had encountered many different people. Maka spares a thought for those people whom she knows are waiting in the village for Soul to slay the being. It’s his final trial on his way to adulthood and he bought Maka along. She knows he regrets bringing her, but she can’t remember the last time they’d been separated. Still, with the knowledge that this is Chrona, she can’t bring herself to simply let Soul kill them. There has to be another way.
Maka’s mind flicks back to the woman’s body she’d found on the floor of Medusa’s house. The body had been tainted blue with blisters forming along the arms and face. Dried blood and rotting meat had flooded her senses. A large cut straight through the body’s chest was the last thing she remembers of that day. She couldn’t tell you how she got out. She assumes Soul had something to do with it, always better at biting back his emotions.
She can’t bear the thought of Chrona looking like that woman had. She has to do something now and it has to be fast.
Shining bright, she is like the sun, waiting there for her fate to come
Holding out her hand with the flow, smiling as she then told you so:
Chrona breaks through the last of the trees and Soul rises to protect Maka. Maka rises too. She walks past Soul and pushes his weapon down. She reaches out her arms towards Chrona, allowing a soft smile to take residence upon her face.
She remembers the first time she met Chrona. They’d attempted to steal food from her and Soul. Soul had ended up with a gash from that encounter, but soon after, they’d met again. That time, Maka had offered up some food to Chrona with a careful smile. Chrona had broken down to her not long after that and she’d held their hand through it all. Chrona’s tiny wings had been so fragile back then.
Now, Chrona’s jet black wings cast shadows over Maka’s small frame. She ignores this, extending her arms closer to Chrona.
"It is quite alright, I shall take the darkness that you hold
And I will change your shape, as a bird you can escape
“I’m so sorry, Chrona.” Maka begins, taking another step towards Chrona. “I should have been there for you, but it’s alright now.” She wraps her arms around Chrona, avoiding the blades threatening to dig into her skin. “Yes, it is quite alright.”
The darkness inside Chrona is infectious and the memories they carry with them stream into Maka. The times they all spent together seem so far away with the way Medusa seems to slither into every inch of them. All Maka can see is the harsh words and bitter manipulation Medusa instilled inside of Chrona.
She forces herself to look past that. She thinks of the games they all played together under the shining sun. “I can feel it all. I’m so sorry, but it’s ok now. I shall take it all away.” She bites her lip. “I don’t think we can return to how things were before, but it’s not too late.” She hugs Chrona tighter. “Yes, I think a bird would be perfect for you.”
You can fly to place far away, in the sky you are free everyday
If you don't have a goal or a prey, then it's fine 'cause with me you can stay"
Soul watches as Chrona begins to morph. For a moment, he catches a glimpse of the old Chrona. He sees the lilac hair and lanky stature that they always carried. It fades as more of the darkness seeps away. He watches the darkness make it’s bed in Maka’s arms, soaking them in ashen tones. He tells himself it’s ok. Maka is strong.
Maka continues her speech. “As a bird, you’ll be free to go wherever. Medusa will never find you.” She hesitates. “But, if you have nowhere to go, you’re always welcome to stay with me, Chrona.” She leans her head against Chrona. “Always.”
Maka is forced to release them as they shift even further. She shudders, a permanent chill settling into her spine. Soul comes up beside her and wraps her in a side hug. She leans into it, drowning herself in the scent of his sweat. Anything other than blood.
White as told, wings unfold, here it stays, following always
The black in Chrona’s wings bleeds out, replaced with a blinding white. They’re far whiter than Soul’s wings have ever been and he worries Maka has overdone it. Chrona shrinks down, seemingly into ash, until all that remains are their wings. Out from the ash a white dove appears and Soul can tell Chrona remembers everything now.
The bird flies out of the ashes, high into the air and the sunlight reflects off their wings. Maka faces Soul shooting him a reassured smile, but Soul can only watch Chrona. He’s enchanted by the way Maka washed away all of Chrona’s darkness with such ease. Chrona returns to the two of them, fluttering about at eye level.
Soul’s eyes are drawn behind Chrona to the dark cloud approaching from the village.
Many more are wanting now her to save them all somehow
And the girl was reaching out saving them without a doubt
It’s to be expected that everyone flocks to Maka wanting them to purge the darkness from them as well. The greed only increases the darkness and people are becoming tainted faster than before. They wave off their sins, knowing Maka will be there to save them at the moment they lose themselves. Soul can only watch from the side as her wings begin to taint.
The first boy she helps is one she’s met before. He’d introduced himself as Kid back then. He’d been tainted by his obsession with symmetry. It had driven him to the point of wanting to reduce everything to zero to create a ‘perfect’ world. However, the first step for a perfect world involved eliminating humans as they are the biggest wrongs in the world. Maka takes that obsession with nothing less than a smile. She squashes it down when it threatens to overtake her. She thinks of the beauty that the imperfections of the world holds.
The next boy she helps is an obnoxious one. His desire to be the strongest had set him down the path of the demon and he’d thrown himself into the darkness full throttle. The girl that accompanies him, introduces him as Black Star. Soul knows the girl will soon follow Black Star into darkness and can only hope that she doesn’t come to Maka when that happens.
Maka steals the desire to be the strongest away and reminds him that power that risks harming those he loves isn’t worth it. Later when Soul asks how she dealt with the darkness Black Star held, she’ll laugh and state that she has so desire to get stronger unless she’s getting stronger alongside Soul. Soul’s heart begins to break at the notion.
The girl finds her way back to them soon after, the darkness absorbing her. Her wings tainted by the lies she’d drowned herself in to keep others happy. Soul finds this one the most pitiful. Her lies made to keep others happy had only brought them misery.
“Tsubaki,” Soul laughs, “Truly a pitiful flower.” He decides the name suits her. However, the laugh fails when he notices the lies that begin to slip past Maka’s tongue with more ease than they used to.
Two siblings appear next. They remind him of Chrona. A life full of misery, only the sibling turned that misery into weapons. Liz and Patty, the demon sisters, a name that the siblings don’t seem to appreciate. Maka struggles to take the darkness from these two. They’ve been holding onto their anger for so long that there’s barely anything left to save, but Maka, ‘perfect angelic’ Maka, does it anyway.
Slowly as all the birds were to fly, she was in there among in the sky
'Cause the birds were all covered in white, she had turned just as dark as the night
Soul finds it harder to be around Maka these days. She snaps over the smallest thing and he spends most of his time walking on eggshells. He can never bring himself to blame her though. He knows that there’s no stopping her and he also knows he could never bring himself to leave her.
More people come and she saves all of them without hesitation. They hardly speak to each other now and Soul longs for the days of their childhood where Maka would smile with all the light in the world.
The day comes when there’s no more light she can give. At that time, the sky is filled with beautiful white birds, but Soul doesn’t care for them. He only has eyes for Maka. He squints through the blinding light rays and finds her in the centre of it all. Her skin no longer glows and her eyes hold no light.
She's consumed by the darkness they bore, she will never wake up anymore
'Cause she used all the strength she would hold, now her body is finally cold
It’s Soul’s turn to remember the body they found all that time ago. He didn’t allow himself to react at the time, too concerned for Maka, but now she’s in the same situation and it’s all he can think about. But, instead of the body, all he can see is Maka led like that. It bubbles up inside him, until he can barely breathe.
He can’t imagine a world without Maka. She’s all he’s had for so long. He can’t remember what his parents look like and it’s been a long time since he heard from Wes. Chrona never stayed for him. Even now, he can spot Chrona circling Maka’s body. He wishes Maka had never saved Chrona. He wishes he had the courage to kill Chrona in the first place. But most importantly, he wishes he’d never brought Maka with him to the edge of the forest to face Chrona in the first place. He’s a coward and it’s cost him his light.
Grieving bird, gave his word, took the pain, darkness and all vain
Maka doesn’t deserve to be cold and empty. She should be full of life and warmth. He curls his hands into fists as he resolves himself. Maka managed to take all that darkness so why couldn’t he? What was stopping him from saving her? Nothing.
His wings had been small for so long, but he focuses all his energy into them, willing them bigger. He needs to be able to fly so he can reach her. He screams as the wings rip out of him, stretching out. Feathers fall off him, but he doesn’t care. The wings remind him of Chrona’s and he reassures himself that his wings remain white for the moment.
Through the clouds up he would fly, birds in black where all over the sky
Now you shine like the gold on the sea, all because you are Soleil
Hesitantly, he beats his wings. Once. Then twice. His whole body shakes under the force and he stumbles forward. He steels himself before running forward towards the edge of the cliff. He jumps up and beats his wings. Up he goes, past the sea of white and into the realm of darkness.
Black birds circle Maka and Chrona, still hoping she’ll save them. They charge him as he passes, trying to pass the darkness onto him. His wings are tearing and he fears he won’t make it. He reaches out his hand and it brushes against Maka’s back. He pushes up and lifts her higher. He keeps flying, carrying Maka with him. Chrona follows and Soul knows they’re encouraging him.
He breaks through the clouds and the light washes over Maka. The darkness floods into Soul, but Soul just watches the way the light warms Maka. His hair dyes white and his eyes flash red. His body shifts and changes, but he’s content to watch the light bounce off Maka’s eyes. She’s finally in her rightful place, under the sun. Her light brown hair glows with the sun.
His wings give one last flap before breaking off. Soul wraps his arms around Maka and allows the darkness to finally take him. He falls, using his body as a cushion for Maka.
It’s a lost cause, but he doesn’t know that.
For just a moment, Soul’s eyes open and he swears he sees the three of them, him, Maka and Chrona, sitting under a tree together as children once more.
