"Winter Coat"
People like Mira don't have an upper limit for hair growth. Pretty impractical most of the time, except when you're traveling in the cold, provided you don't mind the mess.
Last painting of 2023. This was intended to be a quick winter piece, but I couldn't help myself and it ended up becoming a lot more. It's also been a while since I painted snow, so that was a nice change of pace from my usual.

Day 1: Elves
Not sure if Oropher actually became part of the marshes or not (I need to reread everything this year) but it was a really fun idea to draw.

Spent some time working on this. Got inspired by @thewarmblanket snow clan post and watching informational videos on Greenland lol. I love learning. And this snow na’vi is based off Inuit culture. Including the traditional tattoos called Tunniit. Did I mention this is a free draw with my non dominant hand? 🤗
“The process and method of making Tunniit is called kakiorneq in West Greenland and kagierneq in the east (both can be translated as "sewn with a needle").
The tradition of making and wearing Tunniit has mainly been passed on by Inuit women, as a sign of their spiritual responsibility and sewing skills. The kakiorneq and kagierneq techniques traditionally involve the use of a needle and sinew thread (thread made from the muscle of the reindeer's hind legs) dipped in a mixture of soot, oil and urine to create a line under the top layer of the skin. An alternative method involves the use of a sharp tool to make a small hole in the skin, followed by the application of a sooty substance to create a distinctive dot.”

The sigils glimmered like gold paint on his skin by the time he had finished, swirling gaelic symbols glimmering whenever a flash of lightning gave them something to reflect. Lights, motes of shimmering magical energy, rose around him and swayed in the breeze. They illuminated the pages with warm, golden light, and his metal fingers dug into the supple deerskin they were bound in.
He could feel damp on his skin from the humidity of the storm, and hear the peppering spray of sea foam and rainfall. He could smell salt and petrichor, and it settled in his bones.
His jaw set, tearing eyes locked on those stone spires, and magic poured from his mouth.
Some painting practice of a scene from a drabble I wrote. I was told it looked a little better without my boy there, but I decided to leave him in this version! ;;

If I had a nickel for every time I’ve seen a duo consisting of:
confident, strong, somewhat abrasive guy with long black hair who is always down to fight and has an affiliation for cats, voiced by Lucien Dodge,
and his abnormally strong blond childhood friend in a leadership position who is warm and kind on the surface, but has grief-born mental illness from the annihilation of his family, and uncontrollable violent urges the other guy witnessed first-hand at a young age, that progressively consume him as they get older,
I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it’s happened twice

Just been up my brothers room, he's left so much up there you'd think when you're moving out you'd take more of your own stuff with you (including toiletries, completely new untouched shoes and his own fucking clothes)
