Baaaaabe 😫
Ive been sick for the last couple days, and as always, that first day was horrible. Ive had my brain legit decide it wants to inflate bigger than my skull capacity (long story short, pregnancy 🫡) and i got to re-experience that feeling for the first 12 hours 💀
BUT i came back and i was sooo excited for your updates!! They were soo good (please tell me theres a part 2 to that angst....pls 🥺) And i love our discussions in the comments 🫶
I do have another request though if you have the time love. Another possessive!wolfstar buuuttt..... make reader Jamie's sister (twins?)!! Its troublesome enough for James to keep Sirius' hands to himself, but full moon Rem?? He's a brick wall. Like somethings happening between the 2 and Jamie is chasing reader, then she spots Rem and hides behind him. James tries to reach for her and Rem is just kinda like "???? Excuse me, thats mine. Dont touch. James Fleamont Potter. DONT. TOUCH." without even knowing whats going on. James is incredulous (because thats HIS sister) and Siri is chuckling but it looks like Rem might actually bite Jamie's hand off so he moves between them to seperate them but Rem is also like "ExCuSe YOU??? Also mine. *to siri* dont touch him. *to James* dont touch them or you might not have all your fingers when you wake up!!"
And just the repercussions of this where James isnt allowed alone with either until a couple days passed the 🌕
Hope youre looking after yourself darling 🩵
I love James' sister trope - something about it screams fluff and perhaps a little angst but just in all the best ways. I would imagine his sister to be so much like him: mischievous, funny, and full of love. Thanks for requesting!!!
poly!wolfstar x potter sister!reader
There were quite a few perks that came along with being James Potter's twin sister. One said perk was having a built-in best friend from the moment you came into the world. Another was that whilst you were attending school, you had the benefit of no one being willing to mess with you on account of the company you kept - namely, your brother and his infamous friends who called themselves The Marauders.
What being James Potter's twin sister couldn't protect you from? James Potter.
What could protect you from being James Potter's twin sister? Being the girlfriend of Sirius Black and Remus Lupin.
You and James were leaving Care of Magical Creatures together, heading to meet up with Remus and Sirius near the Greenhouses when one Lily Evans walked by - graciously bestowing James the time of day for quite possibly the first time ever - when you decided that this was the perfect pranking opportunity.
You really couldn't be blamed for what happened next: it truly was a gift bestowed upon you by the great pranking gods, and who were you to deny it?
"Hello, Potter." Lily said, causing James to gasp dramatically.
"Hello, Lily! Beautiful day out today, innit?"
Lily couldn't help but snicker at the sickeningly wide grin that took over James' face.
"Oi, Jamie. I forgot to tell you: mum sent that rash cream you were asking for. She said to remind you it's only safe to put around your anus, not in it." You proclaimed loudly, pretending to read from a 'letter' your mother had sent.
The courtyard became incredibly quiet before what you recognized to be Barty Crouch Junior's laugh echoed the space, triggering the snickering of all those present.
"You are so dead!" James sneered and you didn't hesitate to take off in a sprint - knowing your brother was a mere few paces behind you.
"You slithering little snake! She finally starts coming around - are you kidding me!?" He shouted as you swerved between bodies standing in your way whilst he just barrelled right through them.
Suddenly, you saw salvation in the form of one Remus John Lupin.
Now, granted, Remus didn't always protect you from your squabbles with James. Part of the reason for that was because half of the time you sort of deserved it (much like today), and the other part was that he claimed he didn't know what proper protocol was in sibling relationships on account of him being an only child. Sirius, a brother himself, had no such qualms and always took your side.
However, you knew that the full moon was in a mere two more sleeps, meaning Remus was at his most protective (read: possessive) which did not distinguish James Potter as friend, sibling, nor pack.
Right now: James Potter was only a threat.
And, let's be honest, being James Potter's twin sister, and a girlfriend to Remus Lupin and Sirius black also meant you were mischievous as hell. So you had no trouble using this to your utmost advantage.
You squeaked in terror as you slid behind Remus' lanky frame a moment before James - the bastard - slammed into his form and all but bounced off of Remus. James was admittedly more muscular than Remus, but Remus' height and werewolf strength left him towering above James as the dumb sod picked himself up off the ground.
"What in the buggering hell is going on?" He spat at James as one of his arms wrapped behind him, shielding you from your fuming brother.
"That sneaky little witch just embarrassed me in front of Lily!" James barked, looking like he was still trying to figure out how to get around Remus in order to strangle you.
"Please," Sirius drawled as he walked over casually, "like you need any help in that department Prongs."
You tried to hide your snicker, but from Remus' glance at you through the corner of his eye, you knew he caught it.
"She told the entire courtyard I needed cream for a rash on my anus!"
Sirius doubled over in laughter and you preened when you noticed Remus let out a soft chuckle himself.
"It's not sodding funny you wanker! Lily spoke to me first today! I'm going to kill you!" James snarled, moving his attention from Sirius to you.
As James stepped forward menacingly, Remus grabbed the collar of his shirt. "Prongs, enough." He barked.
Sirius was still laughing when he moved to stand between Remus and James, releasing James' shirt from Remus' fist.
"Okay, down boy." Sirius snarked, patting James' shoulder consolingly.
"Oh, sod off." James muttered, elbowing Sirius as he moved to step away.
You let out a breath you didn't realize you were holding and tried to even out your breathing; lungs still burning from your run.
"You okay, dove?" Remus asked you so gently as he bent down to make eye contact with you. His face screamed love, attentiveness, and care, making you feel slightly guilty for having shoved him in the middle of your tomfoolery.
"I'm fine, Moons. Sorry for causing trouble." You answered solemnly.
His face picked up slightly at your words as he pressed a kiss to your forehead. "You wouldn't be you if you weren't causing trouble, love."
Your tender moment was interrupted by a yelp, causing the two of you to turn only to notice James and Sirius wrestling. James seemed to have gotten Sirius into a headlock, and the sod wasn't willing to tap out - still kicking and clawing at James in anyway he could.
"Oi!" Remus shouted as he plucked Sirius out of James' grasp and shoved him in the direction of the castle. James used his momentary distraction as an opportunity to set his sights back on you as he lunged, tackling you to the ground.
"Fuckin' hell Jamie! You weight a tonne!" You shouted, kneeing him in the gut. James doubled over and rolled onto his side in the fetal position.
You didn't even get a chance to right yourself before you were thrown over Remus' shoulder who was still shouting at Sirius to "get back to the dorm. The both of you are staying within my sights for the next foreseeable future" as you all left James with the wind knocked out of him, keeled over on the castle grounds.

🤷🏾‍♀️ write-y mood again because I'm not in a great mood rn.
"What the hell is this?" Buck wasn't expecting a brand new locker or anything, but he at least was hopeful that the locker assigned to him at the 118 was cleared out.
Chimeny, the guy Bobby said was a paramedic, rolled his eyes at him. "It's a hoodie, probie."
Buck knew the nickname was coming, he was half annoyed but pleased to hear it. He open the hoodie, it was well worn for sure- with the LAFD and 118 logo fading but it looked clean. He thought for half a second he could wear it but Chimney let out a "Huh, guess Tommy forgot it or something."
"Who?" Buck asked, sniffing the hoodie and impressed by the cologne the guy used. "Smells like black tea and leather."
He wasn't paying much attention to Chimney’s reaction when he pulled the hoodie on. He groaned in slight annoyance when he noticed the hoodie was a size larger than him. He looked at his reflection in the small mirror attached to his locker. "Not bad, right?"
Chimney snapped his gum, a brow raised suspiciously as Buck turned around with his arms up as if modeling the used hoodie. "Whatever you say Kinnard."
Buck pointed a finger at Chimney, a smug smirk on his lips as he explained "Hey, possession is 9/10 of the law." He stuffed his backpack and toiletries into the locker.
"And you don't think he would want his hoodie back?"
"Who?"
Chimney rolled his eyes as he led Buck back to the bay. "Tommy." Chimney answered gruffly, "Pretty sure the guy wouldn't appreciate a probie jacking his stuff."
Buck shrugged, "Well, if the guy misses it, I'll return it to him besides its not like this is his only hoodie. I'm sure I'll get plenty with my name on it."
Chimney said nothing, opting instead to grab two clip boards, "Whatever you say probie. C’mon, time to show you the best part of being a firefighter." He slapped one of the clip boards against Buck's chest, "Cleaning the toilets."
-
Buck was apparently too slow to react, Tommy looked down right amused and confused as he held up a familiar hoodie.
"Evan?"
Buck froze.
Okay.
Okay...
So Buck didn't put two and two together when he and Tommy had first started dating.
He had kept the hoodie.
Because it was a hoodie that was in good condition (and hey, it smelled good at the start).
(Buck was all too familiar with that scent now, it was Noir 29. One of Tommy's favorite colognes)
So Buck wore the hoodie occasionally, mostly at home or when he needed to run errands. It was his everyday hoodie.
He wasn't really thinking about the chances of Tommy ever finding out that Buck wore his clothes looong before they had ever met.
But...
Buck had come back to Tommy's after a rough shift and Tommy was doing their laundry since Buck's clothing had accumulated a lot since he was staying over at Tommy's more and more now.
He wasn't thinking of it. He had completely forgotten that he had worn the hoodie from work and tossed it in the hamper before going to bed.
So now Buck was enjoying a late breakfast cooked up by his boyfriend as said boyfriend pulled a rumpled and worn hoodie from their shared hamper. Buck nearly toppled over the chair as he tried to rush over, planning to grab the hoodie before Tommy could ask any questions. But it was too late.
"What's this?" Tommy looked at the hoodie with an amused and confused expression. Kinard was still on the back of the hoodie, and so was the 118 and LAFD logo.
"Evan?"
Buck froze.
His tongue felt glued to the roof of his mouth as he wanted to curse his younger self for having the audacity to steal the damn hoodie years ago.
"Evan?" Tommy's voice was soft and fond sounding as he waved the hoodie, his smile teasing as he asked, "Care to explain why you have my hoodie from when I was at the 118?"
Buck was ready to lie but Tommy stopped him with a gleeful and knowing look, "And before you try to convince me that I must have given it to you, I only had one hoodie from my time with the 118, I thought I lost it or something." He opened the hoodie and gave it a little shake, "I didn't think my boyfriend would have it though." He held his hands (still clutching the hoodie) behind his back as he took a slow and sauntering step towards Buck. "Since I know that I didn't give it to you, my question is how did you get it?"
Buck felt a shiver down his spine as Tommy looked him up and down, he felt his face heating up as he tried to come up with anything that could be seen as reasonable.
But nothing was coming to mind.
"Wanna know what I think?" Tommy asked, his voice husky and eyes dark as he stepped closer to Buck.
Buck wordlessly nodded.
"I think based on how worn this hoodie is that you had it for a while." Tommy smiled, waving the hoodie, "And since it now smells like." He took a whiff and chuckled, "Absolutely like you, like your body wash and detergent, I would say that it's worn a lot."
"Tommy," Buck could feel his heart stutter as Tommy came closer to him. "I can explain."
Tommy's eyes glinted with allure and mirth, his fingers toyed with the hem of Buck's shirt (also Tommy's). "Please do."
Buck swallowed, feeling flushed as he explained finding the hoodie in his locker when he first joined the station and how he had kept it because it was warm and it smelled nice (that had Tommy snicker and pull Buck closer to him) and that the hoodie just became a staple in his wardrobe. That he had never given it much thought about who had the hoodie before and it never occurred to him he would and was dating the original owner.
"Evan," Tommy wrapped his arms around Buck's waist, the hoodie over his shoulder now, "I don't care that you took the hoodie." He admitted.
"You-you dont?" Buck asked, nearly panting in relief.
Tommy shook his head now, "Sort of think it's sweet that you ended up wearing my clothes before we even dated. Plus," He pulled Buck by the chin and kissed him, feeling the tension in Buck’s body leave as he deepened the kiss. He pulled back, resting his forehead against Buck's, "I like that you were wearing my name before we even met." Tommy admitted, smug and assured as his hands went back to Buck's waist. He was pleased to see Buck look flushed for an entire different reason, his fingers dipped under the shirt, resting his hands against Buck's warm skin.
"I- uh when you put it that way." Buck laughed, his awe shucks smile had Tommy grinning as well. Buck pulled Tommy in for a kiss, smiling as they pulled away not long after.
Tommy set the hoodie against Buck's chest, the Kinard side on the display as Tommy looked at Buck appreciatively. "Hmm, Evan Kinard does have a nice ring to it."
Evan could feel his ears burn, his heart stammered against his ribs as he choked out. "Really?"
"Really.

Y'all were so insistent that I keep going with the Eddie Fixes It By Making It Worse post breakup fic.
This is officially a three-parter. Sorry. Or you're welcome.
You can read part one here
We have to make out in front of Tommy.
Buck's in the ice cream aisle, reminding himself that he has given himself three more days of moping and ignoring his diet before he gets his ass in gear and starts to live a life again. The Halo Top is mocking him, jeering and heckling as he goes for the Blue Ribbon. Mint chocolate, because Buck always loved it and he can almost forget the mock fight he'd had with Tommy three months in when he told Buck he refused to allow toothpaste flavored treats into his home, and how they'd barely gotten back to his place without a public indecency citation.
He stares at the text until his eyes cross.
What, he sends back, and slowly, cautiously, returns the pint of ice cream to its spot in the cooler. Maybe he should lay off the sugar. He's had enough.
Trust me
It comes in almost immediately and Buck tries to rewind, tries to figure out what any of this means, what the context is, why he's getting an actual Trust Me Bro from his best friend.
You've already met your last and it's not me comes crashing back to the forefront of his mind. He's had a full 36 hours to forget it, and he had been nearly there, nearly ready to chalk it up to Tommy trying to make him angry. Which he's been doing a really fucking excellent job of, lately. Almost like he knows all the buttons to push. Like Buck had given him the owners manual.
Tommy had meant Eddie? How could Eddie have possibly come to that conclusion? What the hell was he doing sending Buck half across town to the market for snacks when -
Buck judges the distance from this market to Eddie's. Then to Tommy's.
"Oh you mother -."
A woman squeaks by with her kid in the cart seat and glares.
---
Are you at Tommy's right now
No question marks. This is an accusation. Buck's thankful there are no perishables in his cart as he abandons it in the lane and hikes it towards the door. It's a dick move, and Buck feels, a little spitefully, like if anyone remembers him they'll remember him from the times he and Tommy giggled and play-fought down the aisles, so they'll think of Tommy when they think of the cart left behind. Resent him for it, maybe.
Not like Tommy isn't particularly good at just leaving things behind.
Yeah. Join me.
Buck breaks through the doors and feels a little woozy. This might be a panic attack. His chest fucking hurts.
🖕just get my stuff and meet me at yours. tell Tommy we burned all his shit
Eddie is an asshole. I'm not gonna LIE to the man. Also he definitely doesn't have an Evan box ready to go, so take what you will from that
Buck's still in that vicious cycle where he goes from angry to upset to sad in record time, no barriers in between, where every bruise feels like it's healing too fast so he keeps pressing in just to watch the color muddle. He hates this.
It'd be a Buck box, Buck texts back, just to release some of the pressure behind his temples, and he pulls in a few deep breaths before he jogs for the Jeep. He's gonna go home. Throw on the DVD copy of Sleepless In Seattle Tommy left behind and then maybe once that's done he'll throw the damn thing in a blender.
Are you coming or not?
Buck turns the ignition and peels out in a direction that won't lead to his own home, or the things Buck has been too much of a mopey bastard to pack up and return to their owner. At a red light two miles down the road, he shares his location.
Eddie sends back an ominous Hope you brushed your teeth today.
---
Eddie gets the door and it sucks just as much as if Tommy had. They barely ever spent time at Tommy's, and Buck can see it now for the boundary it was. When they had, though, their time had been split pretty evenly between Buck picking him up for a date, and Eddie wanting to leave the quiet echo of his own house to hang with them - a car on a lift and beers shared between them, Buck watching the pull of muscle beneath Tommy's shorts as he took Eddie down to the mat, Tommy's fingers drifting through the short curls at the back of Bucks head while Eddie yelled about triple-doubles and chatted with Tommy about how impossible coverage was for some guy named Joker.
Buck has never actually figured out who that guy was. Eddie hated the Mavericks and he hated the Lakers but Eddie also complained about the guy so much he definitely wasn't a Clipper.
Eddie gets him by the forearm when Buck shows clear signs of regretting this. Drags him through the front door before Buck can fully execute his spin and stomp back to the Jeep.
Tommy's next door neighbor had waved at him from her yard where she was doing something new with her display of bird sculptures, and Buck hadn't had the heart to do anything but raise his hand back.
It's less than ten seconds before Eddie is steering him down the hall, into the living room. It's cozy in here. Lived in. Mismatched furniture that somehow fits, a blanket thrown over the side of the couch, dark wood tables and light wood flooring and lamps that look like they came from an estate sale up in the Hills. A huge ass TV set above the mantle of a gas fireplace that Buck never even had the opportunity to see working before... Before.
Tommy is a shadow coming out of the kitchen, and Buck can't help but be a little pleased that he looks as crappy as Buck feels.
---
Eddie claps his hands together before either of them can get a word in. "Okay. Here's the thing. You're both dumbasses and there's a lot of shit that you guys gotta figure out on your own. But apparently you," he points at Tommy with the lip of a beer bottle. Corona. Tommy hates the stuff, and Buck is reminded once again how dearly Eddie loves him, "need empirical evidence that there's no deeply repressed sexual tension between Buck and I. So."
"You're insane," Tommy says, and Buck feels like snapping at him. He's probably right. This is an insane thing to do. Eddie ambushed his ex and then ambushed Buck in the frozen treats aisle and now he wants to kiss Buck to prove a point? What??
Eddie ignores it. Turns to Buck. "How do you wanna do this?"
And now would be the time, actually. Now would be the time to cut the thread, make it clean, break it for good. Only despite his protest, Tommy is staring between them and his expression looks almost... hungry. Frightened, at the same time. Oh. Oh.
He really had thought...?
Eddie's a fucking idiot. Buck doesn't want to kiss him. He's squared with the fact that he definitely had a crush when they first met and he's definitely been attracted to Eddie and just not realized it but he doesn't want Eddie. He doesn't want a life with Eddie, not like that. He doesn't- He isn't -
He loves Eddie more than almost every other person on the planet, but he's not in love with him.
Buck squares his shoulders. Nods. "Yeah, okay," and then he's taking three strides to meet Eddie at the coffee table.
---
"Oh come on, are you serious?"
Buck ignores the exclamation from the peanut gallery. Tries to figure out where to put his hands. He's never really noticed the height difference before. It's barely anything - a couple inches at most - but it feels like he's looming, this close. Which is stupid. He's been this close to Eddie a million times.
Eddie bends his knees to set the beer down. Darts his gaze back up to Buck.
Buck's seen him pull this move before, and has to bite down the urge to cackle because those big brown cow eyes have charmed women up and down California and probably plenty of Texas too but the only time Buck's ever seen them look genuine was when he was looking at Shannon.
He's got a good face. Angular in all the right places, expressive in a way a lot of men try to hide. Good eyelashes, clear skin.
Eddie gets a thumb in one of Buck's belt loops and tugs.
It's a good move. It's a move that has inspired Buck to sink to his knees on more than one occasion with the right men. Man. Just the one man.
He desperately bites back a giggle when the front of their thighs brush and Buck feels nothing more than the heat coming off Eddie.
Eddie's flushed, just a little, like he's well aware how ridiculous this all is, but he's got his I'm So Fucking Serious face on and there is a part of Buck, something fucked up and broken and wrong, that wonders how Tommy would feel to see it. To know that Buck is out there in the world kissing people who aren't Tommy. It's not like he'd ended things because he didn't care for Buck, because he wasn't attracted to him. It's gotta sting, right?
Buck gets a hand on Eddie's waist, just above his hip bone. He's never actually paid attention to how much more slim Eddie is, before, how big Buck's hands feel against him.
The night Tommy had first kissed him, Buck had spent an indeterminate length of time replaying every second of the interaction. The lead up, the frank honesty, the way Buck's entire body had followed the flow of Tommy's. Heart racing, body thrumming: when Tommy had ducked his head, when he'd laughed, when he'd opened up his body language and dropped a tiny morsel of his heart, Buck had felt himself drawn in.
The lips that had caught his had set him alight.
Eddie shifts his weight and blinks up at him and for half a second Buck wants this to be a good kiss - earth shattering, life changing. He wants to feel it. Wants it to be better than every kiss he and Tommy ever shared.
The pointer and middle finger he uses to tilt Eddie's chin up are petty as hell.

All I'm saying is that the show has stated that:
Vegas is flyable by helicopter.
Vegas is known for its elopements.
Buck has a hot pilot boyfriend.
Buck is also very spontaneous.
And it would be rude if they didn't utilise that.
Oh, I love this. And I completely agree, it would be rude if they didn't utilize that.
The Elopement
"Evan."
Tommy was there.
Always there for him.
Buck had one of the most boring, mundane days at work. It was all cats in trees and toys in noses and a few calls that seemed to solve themselves.
It hadn't been a hard day. Not the worst day nor the best day. It had been the most average day Buck had ever had as a firefighter.
Yet it was still a relief to see Tommy.
A breath of fresh air.
It was everything and more to see Tommy in pajamas leaning on Buck's kitchen island counter as he waited for what looked to be a casserole to cook in the oven.
Hair a curly mess.
Yawning despite it being maybe only eight at night.
Some fuzz on his face.
And the way he had turned to Buck.
To Evan.
The way his eyes lit up. The way he smiled so handsomely, the one where his nose scrunched.
And the words fell from Buck's mouth before he knew what he was saying.
"Marry me."
And.
Tommy gave Buck that look - that Evan look. And he walked up to Buck curiously as he asked, "What?"
And he sounded amused.
He sounded surprised.
He looked as if he could watch Buck speak for the rest of their lives and never tire of it. And Buck was sort of asking the man to do just that.
"This is what I want," said Buck as his arms snaked around Tommy; as his hands found themselves in the back pockets of the sweatpants Tommy currently had on, "This is every. Well. Maybe not everything. I kind of want more. So much more. But this is what I want still. To come home to you. Every. Single. Day of my life. To know that I am here for you and you are here for me. That we're inextricably tied to one another. To be with you for the rest of my life. To make that promise. I want that."
Tommy laughed.
"Evan, we - we've only been dating a few months," Tommy said, but it didn't sound like he was fighting the idea; it sounded as if he thought he was trying to talk himself out of it, "We - we don't even know if we want the same things in the long run."
"Okay. Easy fix. What do you want? Marriage? Family? Kids?" said Evan, "I can tell you mine. Because - I want to be married to you. I want to make a family with you. I - I want to have the last name Kinard. Which I never thought was a possibility. I never thought about taking another person's name, but I want you etched into me. I want your name on the back of my turnouts. I want to confuse everyone about why my nickname is Buck."
Tommy laughed at that.
"Oh? Is that the real pull here? Confusion?" asked Tommy.
But Buck, while he loved that, wouldn't be derailed.
"I want kids with you. I see you with Jee, with Denny, with Mara, with Chris - and I see the father you could be. The fathers we could be. And I think you might be the first person I've dated where I see that."
Tommy.
Gazed at Buck.
Mesmerized and confounded and there, Buck could see the immensity of their love already in Tommy's eyes.
"You really think that?" asked Tommy, as if unsure of himself.
Because somehow a man so confident seemed to have so little understanding of what he was capable of sometimes.
"Yeah," said Buck honestly.
Tommy swallowed hard.
"I - I want that too," said Tommy, like asking for his own wants was new to him; like he wasn't used to this sort of introspection, "I like the idea of us connected like that. I liked the idea of rings. I like the idea of having a shared last name, whatever it is. I - I like the idea of kids. God, could you imagine a tiny you? Who in the wouldn't want a tiny you? Or - or adoption is good too. I don't know. All I know is that ever since I met you at Harbor Station, all I wanted was to be around you. Maybe - maybe experience everything I can with you. And if you want that too, I'm just the happiest man in the world."
And this was a whirlwind.
This was so fast.
But Buck couldn't help but kiss that smile on Tommy's face until Tommy was practically jello in Buck's arms.
"Vegas," Buck announced.
"What?" laughed Tommy.
"Book us a helicopter. We're going to Vegas. We're getting married."
Buck couldn't help but smile at Tommy. At the way Tommy gazed at him; like Tommy would never take his eyes off Buck if he had any say in it.
"Are you really sure?" asked Tommy softly.
And Buck loved the man for that. He really did.
"With you? Always."
"I do know a good wedding Elvis," said Tommy as he pulled out his phone.
And.
And they were doing this.
They were actually doing this.
"Hey. Don't look at me like that," said Tommy as he put the phone to his ear, "I'm not going to be able to book the helicopter if you start making out with me."
"Book the helicopter faster so I can start, then," said Buck, unable to look away from Tommy's lips.

We get so much JealousBuck, but I'd like a little JealousTommy. I feel like Tommy would be more threatened by women flirting with Buck, maybe make him question if Buck might not go back to exclusively dating women because it's "easier" and more socially acceptable.
I'm not gonna lie to you - I made myself cry with this one. Thank you for the prompt, I really enjoyed writing this. 🩶
*****
"We can't keep having this same conversation, Tommy." Buck said, exasperated. "Men and women flirt with you all the damn time and I don't freak out about it."
"That's different." Tommy argued.
"Why, because you've always known who you were and I didn't?" Buck argued back.
"No. Yes. I.." Tommy didn't know how to answer that. It was, admittedly, partly because of Bucks' lack of experience with men. He was so quick to date a man he could, conceivably, be quick to go back to dating a woman. It would be the easier choice. Certainly, the most familiar to him. But it wasn't just that - Tommy was falling for Evan, and it scared the shit out of him. There was only a tiny sliver of his heart left to open up, and when it did, there would be no going back. "You've said it yourself how impulsive you can be - how do you know that you won't meet another woman and jump into that like you did with me?"
Buck looked at him dumbfounded. How could Tommy even say that to him? Bucks argumentative voice softened.
"How could you even think that?" He asked, his big blue emotion filled eyes looking back at Tommy. A vine of guilt was slithering its tendril around Tommys stomach and squeezing tightly. "I don't know how many times I have to tell you that I am with you and want to be with you, before you believe me."
"I do believe you." Tommy insisted. "I believe that you believe it. But you don't know how you'll feel in a month. Six months, a year from now."
"Yes I do." Buck said firmly.
"How? How could you possibly know that?"
"Because I trust me. I trust myself. I guess you need to decide if you trust me too." Buck told him. He slowly walked out of Tommy's kitchen and out the front door. Tommy slumped into a seat at the island and put his head in his hands.
***
Tommy parked the car at the station and tentatively walked inside. Chim was the first person to see him.
"Hey, Tommy. What are you doing here?"
"Is Evan here?" He asked looking around.
"Uh, no. I thought you were supposed to be going out tonight."
"Is Eddie here?"
"Upstairs. Is everything al-" Tommy didn't wait for Chim to finish his sentence and immediately made his way upstairs.
"Tommy. You here with Buck? I thought you had a date night?" Eddie asked as Tommy walked into the kitchen. Clearly, Buck hadn't told him about their fight. Good.
"Can we talk?" He gestured with his head to the sofas at the other end of the living area.
"Uh, sure. Everything okay?" He asked as they sat down.
"Evan and I had a fight." He told him.
"Okay. Uh, I feel like I need to remind you that I'm his best friend. I mean, you can talk to me, obviously, but I'm not sure how he would feel about that."
"I know you're his best friend, Eddie, which is why I've come to you. I figured if I'm the asshole here, you'd be the person who told me."
"Fair point. So what happened?" Eddie asked. Tommy explained everything about the women flirting with Buck at the bar they were at and the fight they had afterwards. Eddie was quiet for a moment as he absorbed all the information.
"Well, I think it's quite simple." He explained. "The question you need to ask yourself isn't 'will Buck go back to dating women?', it's 'do you trust him when he tells you you're the one he wants to be with?'. Because if the answer is no, from my perspective.. Buck isn't the problem. The call seems to be coming from inside the house, Bud."
Tommy thought about Eddie's words for a moment before sighing and letting his body fall back into the couch. He was right. Tommy needed to decide if he trusted Evan enough to know what he wanted.
***
He sat in his car outside Evans, building for almost an hour before finally going inside. As he approached Evans door, he still had no clue what he was going to say. He just hoped that seeing him in front of him would help him figure that out. He took out the key that Evan had given him a few weeks ago as they hit six months together and unlocked the door. Evan was leaning against the island facing the door. Tommy wondered if he'd been waiting there for the last few hours for him to walk in.
"Hey." He said quietly and closed the door behind him. "Evan i-"
"Stop." He held up his hand and took a few steps forward, stopping a few feet in front of Tommy. "I need to say something be-before I lose the courage." He took a deep breath. Tommy nodded, giving him the go-ahead.
"I know that us dating was a big leap of faith. For both of us. You've been hurt by guys who couldn't, or wouldn't, come out of the closet, and obviously, I've never dated a guy before. It was a risk. For both of us. And i know I walked into this not really knowing what I was ready for. But-but i took that risk because i wanted to. And-and there has not been a moment, not a single second, that I have regretted that decision. I will take that risk every day to be with you because.. because I love you, Tommy. And I know it sounds stupid, but, I think.. I feel like.. like a part of me loved you before I even knew you existed."
It was the single, most beautiful thing Tommy had ever heard. A giant, thick surge of emotion shot from his heart and lodged itself in his throat, catching his breath on the way. Water filled up his eyes, and he swallowed, trying to still himself.
"You are not the first guy on a list of guys I'm going to date, Tommy. You.. you're it for me. And yeah, I know, everyone will probably say that I'm just being the same old Buck, all reckless and impulsive, and it'll probably blow up in my face, but I don't care. I would risk that happening every day for the rest of my life if it meant I got to spend one more moment with you."
Never, in his 40 years on earth, had anybody ever made Tommy feel the way he was feeling right now. Every fear he had about this relationship, every insecurity melted away. Evans face - his gorgeous and open and earnest face - looking at him was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen. He had walked into Evans's apartment, not knowing how he felt or what he wanted to say. But now he did. Now, his feelings were crystal clear. And nothing in the world was going to stop the next words from coming out of his mouth.
"Marry me."
Bucks eyes open wide in unison with his mouth.
"T-tommy.. I wasn't..  that's.. " Buck was stumbling over his words more than he ever usually did. Tommy stepped forward, taking his hands in his.
"Evan, I know this seems like I'm being.. Well, being all 'Buck'.. but.." He took a breath "..and I'm not saying we should get married anytime soon - I'd wait 10 years if it's what you wanted. It's not about when we do it, it's about just how much I fucking love you, and how it would make me so God damn happy to know that you want to be my husband." Evans eyes were beginning to fill up now. His hands were shaking in Tommy's, who held them tighter.
"I was an idiot, and I am so, so sorry, Evan. What I was thinking and feeling before was entirely because of my own fear. My own stupid insecurities. I never in a million years thought I would ever find someone like you. Someone who is so beautiful inside and out, someone who makes me feel like I'm worth something. That I'm something precious that you have and -" The tears he was trying so hard to hold on finally fell down his cheeks. "-and I want to spend every second of the rest of my life making you feel as precious as you make me feel."
"I... you're right -" Evan said after composing himself. "You are being all 'me'. Proposing after barely being together for 6 months is definitely impulsive and reckless." He said, wiping the tears from his cheeks. "Would it also be impulsive and reckless if I said yes?"
Tommy felt like someone had lit fireworks in the centre of his chest. Those illegal ones that are far too big and dangerous. The ones you know could blow up, taking your limbs with them, but you buy them anyway because they're so beautiful they're worth the risk.
"Really?" He held Evans face in his hands. Tears were still caressing Tommys cheeks, but he didn't care to wipe them away. He'd happily look at Evan through wet lashes forever.
"Yes." Evan replied. Tommy pulled him forward, hard, crashing their lips together. They both whimpered at the force. Tommy wrapped his arms around Evans neck and held him as tight as he could, as though if he let go, Evan would somehow disappear like smoke into thin air. Evan pushed his face into Tommy's neck and sighed with such contentment he thought he'd float away. They stayed like that, in the middle of his kitchen, for a while.
"Evan Kinard. I like the sound of that." He spoke into Tommy's neck.
"Me too."

It's absolutely against the rules.
There's a strict no fraternisation policy in place in every firehouse. It's there for a reason, after all. The city can't have all of its firefighters totally distracted because they're in love with each other.
Buck has never been one to follow the rules.
The minute he saw you, he knew he was in trouble. You cruised into the 118 with your sun kissed skin and gentle eyes and he knew there was no turning back. You flashed that million dollar smile in his direction and he could have sworn his heart skipped a beat. Yeah, he was screwed.
Little did he know, the feelings were very mutual. The first time he laughed at one of your jokes, your knees almost gave way. He looks at you like you're the only girl in the world. You feel like it, when you're with him.
At the 118, they call you Hazard. No one knows the meaning of the nickname besides Buck. Your little secret.
It came about one Friday morning shift. You weren't supposed to be working that day, but Hen called in sick, so Bobby asked you to cover. You were actually planning on going to the farmer's market, but you diverted your journey and made your way to the firehouse.
You weren't exactly dressed for work. You were wearing a pale yellow floral sundress that fell mid thigh, paired with sneakers and sunglasses. Buck took one look at you and almost passed out.
"Thank you so much for coming at such short notice. You're the best," Bobby says as you walk across the floor.
"It's no problem," you smile, making your way upstairs to grab some water.
Everyone goes back to their tasks, but Buck's eyes are glued to you. You look at him through your lashes, and he abandons cleaning the truck to run after you.
"Hey, you," he grins.
"Hey! You're in a good mood today," you wink.
"Well a pretty girl just walked into the room, so."
"Really? Where?"
You look around while laughing, and he shoves you playfully.
"You're an idiot," he chuckles.
You look at each other for a moment, before you realise what you're wearing.
"Well, I guess I better change," you tell him, turning to leave.
"Wait!"
Buck grabs your wrist and spins you back around, pulling you into him.
"Can you just give me one more minute to admire you in this dress?"
You look down at your feet, slightly taken aback by his boldness. Buck is not one to ever hold back, but he seems to with you. If only you knew it's because he's worried he'll accidentally tell you how he feels - or worse.
He uses his thumb to tilt your chin up so you're looking at him.
"You're so beautiful," he whispers, aware of the other people on the level below. "Most beautiful girl in the world."
"In the entire world?" you tease.
"Are you kidding?" he asks sincerely. "I would choose you over anyone."
He leans in without hesitation and presses a kiss to your lips. It's sweet and chaste and a promise of so much more. When he pulls away, you're both grinning like idiots.
"I've been waiting to do that since the first day I met you," he confesses.
"Well I've been waiting for you to do that since the first day you met me," you giggle.
He kisses you again quickly, before grabbing a hold of your hand.
"Wear this dress again tomorrow night."
"Tomorrow night?"
"When I take you out on a real date."
You aim a beaming smile at him, and his heart skips a beat.
"Fine, since you asked so nicely," you wink. "I can't wait."
You lean up to kiss him softly. You both can't get enough.
"If I knew that this dress is all it would take for you to ask me out, I would have worn it months ago," you laugh.
"You walked in and I thought I was gonna burst into flames. You're a fire hazard, woman."
You shove at his arm jokingly, smiling as you do it.
"Well it's a good job I'm a firefighter, huh?" you tease.
No one needs to know how you got your nickname. It's your little secret.

Fuck-It Friday Coda
Tagged by the amazing @hippolotamus @jesuisici33 @wikiangela and @tizniz (who dropped a whole new fic!) Thank you so much! Hope you all are just as hyped for bi-buck as I am!!!!!!! Not much to say than what's being said everywhere for 7x04. Here is my coda this historic episode and it can be read on ao3 as well. Enjoy!
It’s never really a surprise anymore whenever Buck runs into Tommy at the 118’s favorite hook and ladder bar. Hell, before they broke up, Tommy took him to this bar on a couple dates. Awkward dates but dates all the same.
Buck is waiting for the latest rounds of drinks at the bar when a familiar hand lands on his shoulder, “Hey Evan.”
He whirls around and comes face to face with the very man that opened Buck up to whole new world. “H-h-hey Tommy.” He greets nervously, gaze flickering over to where his team, Maddie, Athena, and some friends from dispatch sat.
Tommy catches it and smirks, “Here with the entire crew huh? What’s the cause for this meet up? Didn’t see or hear about any big Buckley heroics over the radio waves.”
Buck finally catches Eddie attention, and his partner stiffens slightly at the sight of Tommy. They were all still friends, mostly, but after the pilot ended things with Buck, sides were taken… in more ways than one.
“You lied back then. In your loft, before I kissed you.” Tommy stated, staring out the hanger doors, hands shoved deep into his flight suit’s pockets.
Wretchedness gripped Buck’s throat tightly. He knew where this was headed, and for just the briefest moment he wanted to fight it. Fight for what he and Tommy had. “I didn’t lie. I wanted to get to know you, I thought-I still think you are cool, and I just wanted you see that.” His voice was high and tight with the brittle lie.
Tommy shook his head and Buck caught his grimacing smile, “Buck you need to stop lying to yourself and open your damn eyes. I have and you want to know what I saw?” His voice cracked with anguish.
Buck’s lower lip trembled, and he could feel the prickle of tears. He didn’t want to know. He didn’t want to face it. Because if he opened his eyes to what Tommy is seeing, the despair would be 10 times worse than what he’s facing at the time.
Always the bravest of two of them, Tommy scoffed at Buck’s silence and pushed on, “You weren’t vying for my attention. You never have. Evan you never did any sort of chasing in this relationship, I did. I so was blinded by how endearing and open you were about your best friend, that I failed to see you misplacing you’re confused emotions onto the nearest person showing you affection. Me.”
The tears began to flow when Buck shook his head, “No Tommy. I liked you; I just didn’t know about that part of myself until you showed it to me.”  He tried defending.
His boyfriend snorted, “Liked. Past. Not present.”
And Buck’s heart dropped into his gut.
Finally, Tommy looked at him and everything in his stomach becomes rancid at the utter heartbreak on the older man’s face, “I’m glad I could help you embrace your bisexuality. Truly I am. I know how freeing it can be.  But Evan, those feelings you’ve have for men, for that one special man have always been there and instead of facing them, you took the easy way out with me. And fuck man, it hurts. It really does.”
“Tommy…” Buck started, but Tommy’s hand gripping his wrist silenced him.
“Evan-Buck. Its-well it’s not entirely okay, but you didn’t know or see and neither did I. At least not until you came back from Chim’s bachelor party. You two couldn’t even look each other in the eye and you’ve been off since.”
That’s because he and Eddie got into the biggest fight of their lives during Chimney’s bachelor weekend.  Because Eddie had been acting off since Buck came out, even though he promised nothing would change. Because Buck once again became enviously green when Eddie kept his attention on the private bar tender. Because Eddie looked Buck in the eye and asked, ‘Why does he get that part of you?’ in the middle of their screaming match that Buck still has no idea how it started but ended there. Because they both walked away, too scared to confront any of those feelings. Because Buck knew deep down, he wanted to give everything he was giving to Tommy, to Eddie and so much more.
“You are such a wonderful man Buck and I know it was never your intention to hurt anyone. But us being together, it’s destroying me and you and...” Tommy sucked in a sharp breath, “And Eddie.”
And there it was. Everything that Buck has been denying since Tommy confronted him in his loft.  The person who was really behind Buck’s complex and confused emotions those few months ago. It was time Buck accepted it. It was time to open his eyes. It was time to let Tommy go.
Buck let out a sob and tugged Tommy into a tight embrace, “I’m sorry, I really am.”
Tommy sniffled, “You have nothing to apologize for Evan.” He pulled back and put Buck at arm’s length, giving him a wet smile, “I was more than honored to be your queer awakening and guru.”
Buck barked out a soggy laugh, “You turned my entire world on its axis man, but in the best way possible.”
“You’re a special one Evan and Eddie… god what you two have and what it can be.” Tommy shook his head chuckling, “I can’t stand in the way of that anymore.”
The younger firefighter stuttered out a breath, “I think that’s more on me than you.” And gets a hum of agreement from his now ex-boyfriend. He stuck a hand out, “Friends?”
Tommy didn’t even hesitate and slapped his own hand into Buck’s, squeezing tight, “Absolutely. Just give me some time, and yourself as well.”
Buck took two days after the break-up to mourn what had been his best relationship to date, to wallow in his unknown carelessness, and to confront those mixed emotions that drew him to Tommy in the first place. Then he packed his duffle and went to work.
Chimney was the first to confront him since Tommy turned down a night out at the karaoke bar and explained that he and Buck broke up. Hen followed because those two paramedics tell each other everything. Bobby reminded Buck that he was willing to listen before giving his shoulder a squeeze. Ravi seemed, relieved, but sympathetic. And Eddie pulled him into the tightest embrace asking, “Why?”
Buck didn’t give him the entire answer. Simply stated, “It wasn’t working.”
Months later Buck gave him the entire truth by taking a page out Tommy’s book and kissing Eddie senseless with a firm grip on his chin.  Eddie, who was babbling away in his kitchen about not seeing what was in front of him and desperate to know if Buck is willing to give Eddie every part of himself, kissed Buck back with ferocity. When they pulled apart Buck finally told him why Tommy ended things, “He saw what we were all too scared to look at.”
That was almost a month ago and Buck is deliriously happy with his life, with his boyfriend, with Eddie. He doesn’t need to be weird or nervous around the man that helped lead him here.  So, he winks at Eddie, telling him it’s all good, and gives his attention to Tommy. “No big newsworthy rescues. Though Chimney did rescue his 100th cat.”
Tommy shakes his head laughing, “An almost impossible feat.”
“Very much so.” Buck comments, “We’re here to celebrate Maddie’s promotion at dispatch. Officially a supervisor.”
“Hey good for her!” Tommy exclaims, “Honestly surprised it took this long. Her voice seems to be on all the major calls lately.”
Buck nods, “Yea. Would have been a different ending for all of us after the bridge collapse last year if it weren’t for my sister.”
“Man, you Buckley’s and your heroism.”
Buck blushes, Tommy Kinnard always the charmer. The other man smirks, knowing the effect he has on him still. “You look good Buck. Happy. Wouldn’t have anything to do with a certain firefighter that’s all over your Instagram lately? Hm?”
As if summoned by Tommy’s mere mention of him, a red Henley covered arm snakes its away around Buck’s waist and warmth lines up along his back. “Hey Tommy, good to see yuh man.” Eddie greets smoothly before nuzzling close to Buck’s ear, “Get that drink order in yet babe?” He asks just loud enough to be overheard by certain people close by.
The pilot’s smirk broadens, but gives a friendly slap to Eddie’s back, “Good to see yuh too Diaz. Been a minute.”
Eddie nods and his nose moves along Buck’s jaw at the movement, making him tremble, “It has. Maybe we can meet up to spar sometime.”
Before his bisexual awakening and the admittance of his true feelings, hearing his boyfriend make plans with another man would have sent him on a downward spiral. Now, thanks in part to Tommy, Eddie, his sister, and the entirety of the 118, but mostly himself, Buck is secure and at peace with his place in their lives, in Eddie’s life.
But that still doesn’t stop his big hearted, ever thoughtful boyfriend from asking, “I know I’ve only taught you the basics, but you could join Evan.”
Buck leans back into Eddie’s embrace and brushes his lips against his partner’s cheek, “Hmm. I’d rather go for the title on more equal grounds, and I really want to save myself the embarrassment of Tommy seeing my ass get kicked.”
His ex snorts out a laugh, while Eddie’s cheeks pinken at Buck’s innuendo of the actual kind of sweaty, half naked situation they want to be in. “Still shameless as ever huh Evan?” Tommy comments.
Buck shrugs, “Nothing to be ashamed of. My boyfriend is hot and I prefer to have my ass handed to me in more intimate ways. But you two can kick, spin, and punch your little hearts out. I’ll enjoy some time with Christopher, maybe even take him to a field and play the much superior sport, football.”
“God you really do not like basketball huh?” Tommy retorts with a shake of his head, probably remembering the first and last time they played, ending with Buck almost breaking Eddie’s ankle in a confused jealous rage.
“I won’t let him near anything orange and spherical.” Eddie jokes giving Buck a tight squeeze. “But if you are up to it, I would love to come over and go a few rounds. You do have a pretty sweet set up.”
The LAFD piolet grins, “Bring the Chevelle too, we can give it a once over.”
Buck makes a mental reminder to give the back seat of said car a good cleaning because the last time he and Eddie drove it out, Buck took Eddie apart in back seat and a t-shirt wipe down definitely did not suffice as ‘clean up’.
Eddie clears his throat, and his blush deepens. Yea, he’s thinking the same. “Sounds good. I’ll shoot you text and set up a time.”
Knowing the conversation is coming to an end, Buck flags down the bar tender before looking over at Tommy, “You should join us. Drinks are on,” He pauses trying to remember who lost the credit card roulette and laughs when it comes to him, “Drinks are on Josh.”
Tommy softens at the invitation, “Drinks with the 118, haven’t done that in a while. I’m in. Miller lite to start.”
Buck laughs, “Yea I know. Go join the others, Eddie and I got this.”
“Yea, I know you do. BuckandEddie, the dream team. Happy for you both, truly.” Tommy kindly states, then gives a shoulder pat to the two of them before strolling away to join the 118 and dispatchers. They faintly hear loud cheers and greetings when he gets close, their friends and family always happy to see the man who put his life and career on the line for them.
Buck places their drink order and when the bar tender slides away, Eddie pulls him back into his chest and growls into his ear, “You may not be green with envy anymore, but I sort of am.”
A shiver runs down Buck’s spine at his boyfriend’s possessive tone and knew all too well that their time at the bar was going to be short lived…unless.
“It’s no Chevelle, but the jeep is parked pretty close.” Buck breathlessly tells him.
Eddie gives him a wicked grin, “You want to take me in the jeep?”
“Wanna go for another title?”

@jegulus-microfic // january 22 // prompt: cry // words: 1184 // cw: explicit sexual content
James Potter is loud. Unbearably so. He’s also talkative, which makes for a particularly frustrating combination. He’s always blabbering on about one thing or the other. His professors or the reading materials or the RA of his dorm, whose name is Frank Longbottom, by the way. This is something Regulus knows because James is —say it with me— loud.
James is either louder than usual today, or Regulus’ fuse is shorter than usual, but it is bordering on unbearable. Regulus is trying his best to focus on the economics of inequality, really, he is. But James Potter’s aggravating voice is cutting through his concentration at an alarming rate.
With a sharp exhale he slams the palms of his hands against the table and shoves his chair backward, causing Evan and Barty to look up. At the sight of Regulus fuming, they simply raise an eyebrow at each other and turn back to their assignments.
Regulus rolls his shoulders and steels himself for what is undoubtedly going to be a frustrating interaction.
He weaves his way through the library, surprised that no one else seems as bothered as he is about the noise, because it is fairly packed. Exam week is coming up and Hogwarts University is known for its rigorous program and harsh grading. This may or may not be the cause for Regulus’ short fuse today — he really needs to pass the econ exam if he wants to take an elective next semester.
Before he knows it, he is standing in front of James Potter’s table. Regulus clears his throat once to get James’ attention, but he seems so captivated by his own story that he doesn’t notice Regulus, standing there with a frown on his face.
It isn’t until James’ friend, Peter? Preston? Patrick? No, Peter sounds right, nudges him under the table that James looks up.
Regulus is met with a blinding smile. “Hi, Reg! What can I do for you?”
“Shut up.”
“Excuse me?” James asks, affronted. “You came and talked to me.”
“No, I mean what you can do for me is shutting up. You’re being loud and I can’t focus.”
The confused expression on James’ face morphs into a smug one almost instantaneously. “So what I’m hearing is that you find me distracting?” He asks with a wag of his eyebrows. Peter snorts out a laugh, but Regulus ignores him.
He rolls his eyes. God, this man is infuriating. “That’s absolutely not what I said. I simply can’t hear myself think over the sound of your voice.”
“Shame,” James tells him. “Although, I must admit I’m rather interested to hear what you’re thinking. Maybe you could tell me on Friday? Over dinner?”
“I’m sorry, what?”
“Dinner. Friday,” James repeats. Then he gestures between the two of them. “You and me.”
Regulus feels like a fish out of water, gaping stupidly at James Potter in the middle of the library.
Regulus is about to say something cutting and devastating like In your wildest dreams or Is this a prank or Absolutely the fuck not, but what comes out of his mouth is a hesitant, “Sure.”
James’ beaming smile is back. “Alright. I best get back to studying, then. Apparently I have plans on Friday, so I gotta clear my schedule.”
Regulus makes his way back to his table in a daze. Barty and Evan are waiting, gazes expectant.
“Well?” Evan prompts when Regulus doesn’t say anything. “How’d you get him to shut up?”
“By agreeing to go on a date with him,” Regulus says, still somewhat confused. He isn’t entirely convinced it wasn’t a prank and he also isn’t entirely convinced he’s awake right now. The interaction was so absurd, he's sure he dreamed it.
“What the fuck?” Barty asks. Yeah, that’s what Regulus is also thinking.
————————————————————————
“C’mon, James,” Regulus murmurs, “let me hear you.” He reaches up to tug James’ bottom lip out from between his teeth. With a particularly harsh thrust, he pushes James up the mattress a couple of inches, slamming the headboard against the wall.
James moans —loudly— and Regulus relishes in the sound. He chases it, covering James’ mouth with his own and licking into it as if he could taste the sound, somehow. He pulls back and attaches his lips to James’ neck, sucking a bruise into the flushed skin.
James moans again, and again, and again. The sound bursts out of him in breathy gasps every time Regulus pushes in.
“Love it when you get loud for me,” Regulus tells him.
“Used to—” James starts, but he is interrupted by yet another moan, “used to hate it.”
“That was before I knew better,” Regulus acquiesces, slightly breathless. “Now it’s my favorite thing in the world.”
The sound of the headboard hitting the wall fills the room, interspersed with the sound of James moaning. It doesn’t take long for James’ moans to rise in pitch, signaling that he’s close.
“Reg, Reg, I’m—” James tries to warn, but he cuts himself off with a cry of pleasure.
“I know, James,” Regulus replies. He furrows his brow in concentration, his fist tight around James' cock as he pushes him toward his release. “It’s okay, come for me.”
James spills all over Regulus’ hand and his own stomach with a particularly loud moan and Regulus follows close behind, tumbling into pleasure headfirst until he comes back down to earth.
He pulls out of James gently, discards the condom, and moves to grab a cloth. He wipes down James’ stomach and reaches between his legs to get rid of the excess lube. Regulus is just about to get comfortable again when there is a sharp knock on the door. With a sigh, he tosses James a pair of underwear and tugs on his own.
“What,” Regulus says sharply when he yanks the door open. James pads up to him and places a hand on his shoulder.
“Hi, Frank,” James says somewhat sheepishly.
“Hi, James. Regulus,” Frank says. His eyes get stuck on the blooming hickey Regulus left on James’ neck a few minutes ago. Regulus coughs pointedly, snapping Frank out of his daze. “Got another noise complaint. Would it kill you guys to be quiet?”
Frank definitely looks like he doesn’t want to be here. Regulus agrees. He would much rather be back in bed with James.
“Sorry, we’ll try to keep it down,” James says. The hand that is not resting on Regulus’ shoulder goes to his hair, running through it self-consciously. Even if they hadn’t gotten a noise complaint it would have been obvious what they were doing. The hickeys, the hair, the distinct lack of clothes.
“Anything else?” Regulus asks when no one speaks.
“Uh, no, that’s all. Thank—” but Regulus has already closed the door before Frank can even finish his sentence.
“Regulus,” James says, exasperated, “this is the third time we’ve gotten a noise complaint. They’re gonna kick me out, I swear.”
“Don’t worry,” Regulus tells him. “You can get up to five complaints before they consider eviction.”
With a loud laugh, James tackles him to the bed.

Congrats on 1k love!!! Im so happy for you, you deserve all the love 🩶
Could i request a ravenclaw!reader who's a little volatile (i suppose like dark acadameia) that the slytherins have kind of adopted (because shes volatile not violent and they think its cute). But shes been in a relationship with Remus on the down low and they realise at a halloween party?
I imagine Remus as an angel while reader is a devil and the slytherins were already concerned by the costume but then they notice you and Remus and just loose their marbles. Barty's having a meltdown, evans im shock and Sirius is cackling because Regulus is trying to stand tall but Remus is so much bigger than him its just impossible.
Anyway, tysm for your wonderful self and feel free to twist this however fits you, love!!
Hi lovely, thank you so much! I'm assuming you meant this to be for the Fade Into You part of the celebration since it's a specific reader, and also I don't know the Slytherin boys very well so I feel like my characterization could be wayyyyy off but I hope this is alright!
join the party
Remus Lupin x Ravenclaw!reader ♡ 930 words
You’re dancing with your friends when your drink is plucked suddenly from your hand.
“Hey!” You spin around to find the thief, and then your tone changes completely. “Hey, Remus, you came!” You crash into him, reaching up to wrap your arms around his neck. Remus hugs you back the best he’s able, a drink in each hand. “And you wore your costume!” You grin as you pull away, resting a hand on either side of his face to admire how soft and sweet he looks in seraphim white. “Is that glitter on your cheeks?”
Said cheeks grow warm under your hands. “That’s Sirius’ touch.”
“You look very pretty.” He grins, and you stand on tiptoe to whisper sweetly in his ear, “Now give me back my drink, pretty boy.”
Remus’ smile doesn’t waver, but he becomes a tad more serious about the eyes. “How many have you had?”
“Oh, don’t be such a drag, Lupin,” Barty pipes up, coming up behind you to sling an arm around your shoulder. “She’s fine, and not that it’s any business of yours, but we won’t let anything happen to her.”
“She just seems like maybe she’s had enough,” Remus replies, and his tone is far from unkind, but there’s an edge of admonishment to it that has Barty bristling noticeably. He turns back to you, voice softening. “What do you say, lovely, want to go sit down for a little while?”
You look at Barty, who raises an eyebrow at you. Behind him, Reggie stands with his arms crossed, looking bored with the whole thing.
“I won’t be gone long,” you say in apology, and Barty scoffs disgustedly, but releases you.
“Fine, go play with your costume buddy,” he says. “We’ll be here when you get sick of him.”
You take Remus’ hand in one of yours, flipping Barty off with the other.
“Are we really going to sit down?” you whisper hopefully, and Remus chuckles.
“Yeah, we are. Sorry, sweetheart, but you’re not exactly walking in a straight line right now.”
You grin, tugging at his hand playfully. “That’s just ‘cause I’m a rebel. The boys would never let me hang out with them if I walked the straight and narrow.”
“That so?” Remus hums, pulling you down onto a couch beside him. “Have I mentioned how nice you look yet? You really do.”
“I’m not supposed to look nice.” You roll your eyes, shuffling closer to him. “I’m a devil, Rem. I’m supposed to look hot and salacious.”
Remus graces you with a smile, brushing a piece of hair from in front of your eye. “You do look hot, but you look nice too. I don’t think you can help that one, dovey.”
“Yeah?” You bat your eyelashes, moving into his lap. Remus’ eyebrow quirks up slightly, cheeks glittering with the movement, but he doesn’t stop you. “Is it just that I radiate sweetness?” You kiss his jaw. “And patience?” Remus’ cheek is faintly pink where you press your lips. “Innocence, certainly,” you tease, breath hot on his ear, “but what else?”
“Dove,” he whispers, “I think your friends are watching.”
“Hm?” You look up, and sure enough, Regulus, Barty, and Evan are standing just a few feet away by the punch bowl, expressions ranging from bewilderment to abject horror. “Oh. Oops.”
“I—I can’t,” Barty sputters. “I can’t be seeing this. Are you plastered? Get off him.”
You don’t, but Remus does it for you, standing and setting you on your feet as Regulus stalks forward. He stops with his arms crossed in front of the two of you.
“Is this who you’ve been ditching us for lately?” he asks you.
You start to reply, but Barty talks over you. “No.” He shakes his head. “No, there’s no way. There’s no way.”
Others have started migrating toward you to watch the show, among them Remus’ friends. Normally you wouldn't care, but Remus is beginning to squirm, so you try to calm things down for his benefit.
“You guys are overreacting,” you say, as peaceably as you’re capable of. “As if it really matters what house my boyfriend is in.”
“Boyfriend?” Barty despairs, and you should have known better than to think anything could quell his dramatics once they’ve begun. “God, as if the costumes weren’t bad enough, you have to throw lovey-dovey terms like boyfriend around.”
A peal of laughter sounds from somewhere nearby, and you look around to find Sirius, eyes already wet with mirth as he watches his younger brother. “Reggie,” he manages between giggles, “are you trying to look taller than him?”
Reg raises an unimpressed brow, and anyone who didn’t know him well might not notice the flicker of embarrassment in his gaze. “Don’t be stupid,” he says, but his posture is better than you’ve ever seen it, his neck elongated in an attempt to look Remus in the eyes without having to tilt his head.
“Reg.” Sirius swipes under his eyes. “You may be taller than me, but you’re never gonna get all the way up there.”
“Alright,” you say decisively, taking Remus’ hand and proceeding to push past Regulus’ stiff form. You shoot Evan a half-apologetic look as you go by, still standing frozen like he’s been stupefied, and Barty follows your movement with eyes blown wide. “Just for that, we’re going back to you guys’ dorm, Black. And we’re going to fuck, loudly, all night.” You shoot your most winning smile in his direction, even as Remus’ face takes on a fiery hue beneath the white glitter. “I wouldn’t recommend coming home. Goodnight!”

“can you keep your location on this time?” her boyfriend asks, seeing her getting ready in the mirror.
“i’m just going to work, thomas,” y/n chuckles, thinking it was harmless, but she was his eyes roll almost to the back of his head.
“i’m just asking you one thing, y/n,” he groans.
“i just think you could trust me, i have a long shift today,” she brushes her hair back into an elastic, getting her belongings before grabbing her phone. she always tells herself that she’ll stand up for herself, but she falls into his traps anyway. she presses the small button hesitantly, showing him her location.
“hi, buck!” she greeted, as he walks in the door. he jogs right up to her, kissing the side of her cheek as she giggles into his touch. “i’m going out with some friends tonight, but i’ll be back before you know it so we can spend time together!”
“don’t rush, baby,” he laughs. “take your time with your friends, have a fun night.” he goes to love his stuff onto his counter, but she follows up behind him.
“oh, here, i’ll send you the link to find my friends,” she looks down at her phone, so she doesn’t see the confusion written all over his face.
“the link to what?”
“i’m just gonna send you my location, so you don’t have to ask.”
“honey, i don’t need your location,” he smiles lightly, giving her reassurance and it’s her turn to be confused.
“a-are you sure?” her nose crinkles along with her brows.
“of course, i trust you, always,” he tells her, letting the weight on her shoulders drop. she was hoping he wasn’t mad, but he would never, ever get mad at her for something as silly as that.
“oh!” she says, shocked but still appreciating him. “okay, thank you, i’ll be back in a bit.”
“don’t thank me, just be safe,” he pecks her lips again, watching her skip happily out the door.
y/n looked back in the long mirror again, slipping on a pair of heels to compliment the adorable dress she was wearing. they went along perfectly, and now she finally had an occasion to wear them. she was thrilled to show thomas her outfit, feeling pretty in her own skin and twirling the dress out in the mirror. she turned around, expecting a bright smirk on his face, but she was met with a flat expression.
“what’s wrong?” she asked, concern written in her words.
“nothing,” he grumbles, moving over to adjust his sleeves and grab something from the nightstand.
“no, somethings wrong. i can tell in your voice.”
“y/n, leave it,” he sighs, looking over at y/n who’s still waiting for a response. “are you sure you want to wear that?”
“what do you mean?”
“i mean, its a bit too much, don’t you think?” y/n looked back at the dress, not seeing anything wrong with it. maybe it was the design, her body, but clearly something was wrong with it. maybe she just couldn’t see the way he does. “we’re not going to the club, are we?”
“no, but i wanted to look nice.”
“maybe you should keep looking,” he tried to disguise his heartbreaking words with a light grin, but y/n saw right through it. he loves her, he just wants what’s best for her and she knows he knows best. so, she hung the dress back up and put the heels back in their box. she ran into the bathroom to change again, practicing happy smiles and tried to fight back the stinging tears in her eyes. he doesn’t want her to ruin her makeup.
buck and y/n’s schedules had aligned again, letting her finally be able to meet his real work family. she was so happy she could finally enter this part of his life, and only wanted to support all of his team at the 118.
y/n had been in the bathroom for a while, a little too long for buck to not have any concern. she was examining her outfit, the same dress she wore when thomas told her to take it off. she still felt beautiful in it, but not as much as she did. she never realized how easily someone could take away her confidence. she figured she’d at least leave a pair of new heels out, thinking buck would appreciate the simple sandal.
“y/n?” he knocks, lightly. “you doing alright, honey?”
“yeah!” she answers, suddenly getting that nervous feeling in her stomach. she hesitated on opening the door, but she clicked the lock and pulled it open. she felt more vulnerable than ever standing in front of him. she knew his reaction and that he’d want it off, but she was only met with complete admiration.
“woah,” he exhales, looking at her gorgeous dress and wonderful figure underneath.
“i can change if you don’t want me to wear this, i have a few more options in the bathro-“
“are you kidding? you have to wear this, you look so beautiful in this, y/n!”
“i do?” she asks, looking into his genuine eyes.
“of course you do, what makes you say that?”
“it’s just that, you know, it’s nothing,” she tried to walk back over to the shoe rack, looking for her sandals but his hand stops her.
“hey, talk to me,” buck requests, softly but also wanting her to be able to open up.
“my ex didn’t like this dress, he didn’t think i was good enough for a piece of fabric,” she laughs sarcastically, but buck can tell it hurts her still.
“well, he’s a dumbass, a dumbass who lost you,” he replies. “i’ve never seen someone more gorgeous than you, i don’t care what anyone says. i’ll spend every day proving it to you.”
“how do you do that?”
“do what?”
“just make everything so much better without trying?”
“oh, you know,” buck jokes, putting his arm around her shoulder. “im a natural, that’s all.” she slaps his shoulder, laughing at him before going off to see his family.
y/n stood in the corner of the room in an outfit she never wanted to wear today. she watched everyone converse in a friendly way, only few people stopping by to say hello. even if they did, it lasted a few minutes. she quickly became a decoration to thomas, just being there for silent support before he ditched her for more rich businesspeople. she sipped lightly at her small glass of champagne, wishing she had the whole bottle with her.
he didn’t see any potential in her, not even caring to introduce her until someone asked who she was. she never had felt more out of place, but it became a regular thing. he’d venture off to talk to other people, leaving y/n in the dark. she felt like she was just swept under the rug, something to deal with later.
“bobby, come over here!” buck shouted across the room, waving his hand for bobby to come over. when he did, he had a welcoming smile on his face and shook y/n’s hand. “this is my girlfriend, y/n.”
“it’s nice to finally meet you, y/n,” he says. “we’ve heard a lot about you, like a lot.”
“thank you for having me today,” she replies gracefully, looking at buck who’s glancing back at her with pride in his face.
“it’s our pleasure, really, you’re a delight, y/n.” athena walks in, wrapping her arm around bobby’s waist and offering y/n a drink. buck guides her over to chim and hen who sat together on one of the benches in the grants backyard.
“y/n, this is henrietta, or hen, and then chimney,” buck smiles, his hand still connected with hers and letting her say hello to everyone.
“my real names howard, by the way, not sure if that one bothered to mention that,” chimney pokes fun at buck, who pretends to be offended for a moment but just lets it be.
“i’m glad we can put this lovely face to the name,” hen beams, looking at y/n and feeling the positivity radiating from her. “maybe you can rub off on that one.”
“my names not ‘that one’ by the way, and i’m right here!” buck fake complains, but knowing they all have a good heart. “i’m about to leave and take her with me.”
everyone groans in complaint, making y/n laugh and buck leading her to sit next to everyone. she makes her rounds saying hello to athena’s kids and eddie, everyone finding her to be so graceful. the acceptance from everyone was fully unexpected on y/n’s part, barely being able to comprehend how buck could be so in love with her. she had stepped out for a moment after assisting athena and bobby in the kitchen, buck following right after her.
y/n never got this treatment from thomas, always feeling like she had to beg for it but it was so easy for buck. it made her years of insecurity and questioning vanish, only to be replaced with the security from her loving man.
“you alright?” he asks, meeting her by the steps of the home.
“yeah, i’m perfect!” she tells him. “i just didn’t expect this.”
“they all love you, what’s not to love?” he replies softly, looking her up and down. “you’re smart, you’re the sweetest person i’ve ever met, you’re wonderful in every way, y/n.”
“i remember when thomas took me to work events, and i was just in the corner with a drink. no one really noticed i was there, so it just came as a surprise to see you so affectionate.”
“i’ll always show you off, you’re the best woman i’ve ever met. i want the whole world to know that i managed to get you, and also,” he kisses her lips, bringing her thoughts back down to earth to ease her worries. “i love you, a lot.”
in that moment, y/n knew buck was everything that her ex could never be.

@jilytoberfest 31 Prompts: Day 10 || 543 Words || Read on Ao3 —
3 July 1977
03 July 1977 1:06pm
Lily: I need to tell you something but you have to promise not to do anything stupid about it.
Cross-legged on her childhood bed, Lily chews on the end of her pen as her eyes stay trained to the little scrap of charmed parchment that sits in front of her. Light pours in through the open window, bathing her in its summer glow and her stomach churns, unsure if he’ll have the ability to reply immediately, though she desperately needs it.
James: …that’s a hell of a way to start.
Lily: You have to promise.
James: I don’t even know what it is I’d be doing something stupid about. I’d like to have the rest of the information first, if you don’t mind.
Bugger. She supposes it’s not that unjust of a request.
Lily: It’s my mum.
Lily: She’s gone and set me up on a date with a friend’s son.
James: I see. And you were expecting me to…what? Come crash the date? Show up like some jilted lover angry to find his girl with another?
Lily: I cannot emphasize how much I don’t want to go, but I told her I wasn’t seeing anyone and I’ve fallen into her trap.
Lily: I just wanted to let you know it’s happening, and it’s not my choice, and I am not happy about it, so please don’t make an already mortifying situation any worse.
James: You haven’t even told me where the date is going to be. Virtually impossible to show up unannounced that way.
James: Unless…
James: Evans, do you want me to crash your date?
Lily: Of course not!
James: You sly thing. You want me to ruin your date so you don’t have to hurt this poor bloke’s feelings all on your own, don’t you?
Lily: Now you’re just being ridiculous.
James: Me? Lil, there is a whole other way this conversation could’ve gone. “I told my mum I wasn’t seeing anyone so she’s set me up with a friend from her knitting group’s son (ugly mug, I’m told, poor thing). It doesn’t mean a thing but I have to go to fulfill some sort of blood oath between knitting club members. Please know my heart beats only for you.”
Lily: Quite the poet, you are.
Lily: And Gerald’s not got an ugly mug!
James: Oh it’s Gerald now, is it?
Lily: Just a quick bite for dinner tonight and we part ways as friends. I promise.
James: Lil, I’m just teasing you. I trust you, of course. I know we’re keeping this under wraps for now…I won’t pretend that I expected something like this to happen, but it’s fine.
Lily: …You’re really great, do you know that?
James: Of course I do. You might want to tell Lily of 1976 that though.
Lily: Poor thing would never believe me.
James: She’d think it was some elaborate ruse on my end.
Lily: Oh, absolutely.
Lily: If you promise not to make a scene…I’ll let you know where I’m meeting Gerald for dinner. If you’re not busy, maybe we could get some ice cream after?
James: I’ll be on my best behavior. Watching in dutiful silence from the other side of the diner.
Lily: Oh, don’t you dare.

OCTOBER PROMPTS 🦇 — 11. Evan “Buck” Buckley
Tumblr media
A/N: my man, my man, my man!! Hopefully we get to see you soon and I can actually get the nerve to finish season six—I only have maybe 4 episodes left? Then I’ll dive into 9-1-1 lone star while we wait. Regardless I thought this would be funny and a little creepy to write so here we are! Enjoy 😉
Synopsis: Buck loves the new house you live in together and although you’re not crazy about it…you decide to pull a prank on your boyfriend to liven up the place that perhaps leads to you opening doors for a uninvited guest?
PROMPTS ARE FROM HERE & HERE & I’m using: A buys a crappy sound machine and plants it in the house. While it plays ghost noises and spooky sounds, A hopes they can convince B that the place is haunted. + “Come on, if there was ever a time for me to be superstitious it’s definitely now.”
*GIF BELONGS TO: @911edit

“BABE!” Buck yelled into your ear after pulling the headphone away.
You flinch as you stand up straight from the kitchen island and away from your overnight oats, “Yes?” You press with raised brows.
Buck waves his hands around, “you don’t hear that?”
“Hear what?” You question, pausing the podcast and resting your headphones to lay around your neck, “I didn’t even know you were home.”
Buck immediately frowns, “don’t tell me that. That means anybody could be hiding in here and you wouldn’t even know because of those stupid things.”
“You bought them for me.”
“Yeah to use at the gym and keep those meathead douchebags away while I’m not around.” Buck explained which made you smirk with a roll of your eyes.
“Listen,” Buck said again as you moved around the modern kitchen (that you hated) to place the now empty bowl and spoon into the sink.
Placing a hand on your hip you glance around the new open floor plan home that you and Buck moved into together. The modern contemporary home was such a contrast from the outside to the inside with its exterior being too boxy for your liking but you enjoyed the black exterior and the courtyard and pool. The inside was much lighter, from white to cream walls, along with the high ceilings which made the home feel bigger and instantly sold Buck who believed this would be your forever home.
You on the other hand were not convinced but nobody could ever say you weren’t open to trying new experiences. It’s only been four months settling in and there were still some things you wanted to change like: mainly the wall colors but Buck was convinced furniture and decor could replace that urge.
Sighing you say, “I don’t hear anything Ev,” you tap the sink on, “maybe you should lay down? Was it a rough day?”
“No, it was a breeze.” Buck fanned his hand along before resting them both flat against the White Island counter, “…maybe it’s a bird or something?”
“Well what exactly did it sound like?”
“Like scratching. Kinda like Pearla when she tries to sneak into our room at night,” Buck answers before glancing around, “matter of fact, where is she?”
“At the groomers. She won’t be ready until after four,” you inform Buck of the whereabouts of your old English sheepdog.
Buck dips his head, looking at his watch, “it’s 3:42.”
“Shoot! time does really get away from me,” you widen your eyes as you quickly finish washing the dishes before spinning around to shove it into the dishwasher.
Buck nods his head, “I’ll drive.”
“You sure?”
“Yeah,” Buck shrugs his shoulders, “it’s a nice crisp day and…I don’t want you having any accidents considering your hearing isn’t the best right now.” He playfully lifts the headphones from your neck to place down while you roll your eyes again.
You lean towards him smug, “ah, I see what this is…you’re scared to stay here by yourself because of this imaginary noise you’re hearing.”
“I’m not! And i don’t think it’s in my head.” Buck defended while you went over to the couch to shove your hoodie back over your gym attire.
“Uh huh,” you say as Buck scoffs ready to plead his case as you lock up the home behind you.
The next time Buck hears the noise is around 3am when you’re both tucked away at the back of the home in bed. It’s not a pleasant sound as his eyes snap open to the darkness of the room, the moaning and creaking almost sounds like a mixture of a whale and the cracking of a ship that meets the bottom of the ocean. Buck knows he should stop clicking on random things on YouTube before bed that leads him down a deep dive but this isn’t the first time he’s hearing that groaning sound.
It was brief before on his day off while you were at work and he was lounging on the couch watching some twisted documentary about Russ McKamey. Buck tried to brush it off as something that was on screen since it stopped when he paused the television but he couldn’t hear it while watching again. Was this truly in his head? He started to think but here he was— technically—the third time hearing the noise for much longer.
When he peaks over at you with your back to him, he lightly grips your shoulder and leans over to see that you’re still fast asleep and sits up in bed. By the edge of the bed, he spots Pearla on the floor with her fluffy ears perked up and Buck nods his head.
“You hear it too, girl? I know I’m not going crazy!” Buck whisper-yells to the dog who’s definitely more alert than you are.
Buck’s crawling out of bed with Pearla at his ankles, taking a deep inhale he opens the bedroom door to peak down the left of the hallway towards the front of the new home and only sees darkness. Pausing for a moment he listens for the noise again but the home is eerily quiet.
Buck stands there for at least two minutes before he considers closing the door but the creaking starts up again, sending Pearla flying out of the room barking as she tries to locate the noise first.
“Pearla!” Buck yells for the dog who disappears down the hallway and out of sight.
He blows a whistle with his fingers to get her attention, stepping into the hallway now but Pearla is nowhere to be seen. When he glances over his shoulder back in your direction, you’re still in fact sound asleep. Usually you’re the light sleeper out of the pair but somehow in this early morning, you’re having a grand time in dreamland.
Reaching for the doorknob, Buck slowly pulls the door closed with a soft click and begins taking the path to the main areas of the home. Pass the three bedrooms and the half bath on the left, Buck scans the dining room, kitchen, and living room to find it all empty. Confusion is written all over Buck’s face as he stands in the center of the home, hands on his hips as he’s searching but…for what?
The groaning picks up again just as a touch goes to his hips. Buck yelps, whipping around to face you who’s actually holding their composure. Buck holds onto his chest ready to let out a exhale but the look you cast behind your shoulder then back to meet Buck’s island water eyes you say, “the house is haunted.”
“What?” Buck let’s out a full exhale, trying to calm his heart rate.
You swallow, hands still holding onto Buck’s hips, “I hear it too.”
He tightens his jaw, ears picking up on the noise but now it’s the loudest it’s ever been, making you grip your very sensitive ears.
“Wait here,” Buck suggests, hands flexing as he picks up a fire poker that was left leaning against the industrial bookcase from his old apartment, “it sounds like it’s coming from the laundry room.”
You huff, feet slapping against the floor as you latch right onto the back of his shirt, “hell no! You’re not leaving me behind in this sketchy house.”
“Ohhh,” Buck sing songs, “now it’s sketchy but when I said it’s been weird lately you tell me I need a nap.”
You hiss, “be quiet, we’re supposed to be stealthy when sneaking up on a ghost.”
“I wasn’t aware that you had experience with the paranormal.” Buck looks back at you with a frown before slowly leading the way back towards the bedrooms.
“I’ve seen ghost whisperer you know?”
“…am i supposed to know what that is?”
“It’s a show Maddie and I are currently binge watching, now ssh!” Your attempt to silence the man was met but Buck used this silence to steady his heartbeat.
If this house was truly haunted then it was going to be hard to explain this to the insurance company when he’s done tearing up the place.
And we all know Buck’s not afraid of some action. His arm goes out to shield you as you both slide up against the wall opposite of the door that leads into the small laundry room. Buck couldn’t hear Pearla’s barking anymore and she did go in the opposite direction so he hoped whatever this is, didn’t harm your beloved dog.
“On my count,” Buck signals peering at you shortly to make sure you understood where he was going with this, “three…two…”
Of course he didn’t say “one” as he pushed the door back, revealing the very normal looking laundry room. Everything appeared in tack as Buck stepped into the room, hand reaching out to shove some clothes on the rack aside and then checking the cabinets above the washer and dryer.
“Huh,” Buck hummed before pulling the appliances open to find them both empty, “nothing.”
When he turns to face you, you’re hugging yourself but your brows are still furrowed in disbelief. He reaches to flick the light off and steps towards you to exit the room but a screeching noise picks up yet again. Instead of it sounding like it’s in the laundry room, it’s appears as if it’s coming from back towards the front of the home.
“No freaking way!” Buck yells, bringing the fire poker up like a bat as he runs down the hallway.
You scream at his back, “stop running towards danger you idiot!”
Buck ignores you, following the sound right to the pantry door, which is closed shut. He wastes no time, pulling the door back to reveal a gray and white Pearla fleeing from the room with a whine. Buck almost recoils at how loud the sound is coming from the pantry but steps in anyway, looking around the spacious storage room until the door shuts right behind him.
He tries the knob but to no avail, he turns back to the dark room, dropping down into a push up motion to check underneath the shelves. The thirty year old was just waiting to see something further unusual but got back to his feet just to be shoved towards the shelves.
Buck steadies his hands out in front of himself, catching himself against the shelves but not without the goods crashing onto the floor. He spins back around as the cracking noise picks up, almost making his teeth ache at the sound but that doesn’t stop him from swinging the fire poker wildly in the air. He’s not sure when the poker breaks one of the shelves but he spots a flash of red way at the top behind a acrylic container.
Panting Buck begins latching and crawling up on the shelves and swipes a hand across the top shelf, knocking the contents onto the floor to spot some sort of machine that suddenly shoots a weak steam of fog his way, followed by the creaking sound. Buck presses on top of it which sends out that screeching sound that makes Buck slip at the upsetting noise.
He’s shouting your name once he aims his footing right, landing back on it but not without the machine slipping right towards his face and knocking Buck off balance.
“I’m just glad it’s not broken,” you say for what felt like the thirteenth time as you hold the door open; ten am later that morning, leading your boyfriend back into your shared home that Buck secretly didn’t want to come back to.
The bandage on his bruised and cut up nose was prominent but Buck still sported a small smile on his face. “See what happens when you try to prank me. Now you have to tell everyone that I did in fact fight a ghost.”
The pantry door was jammed by the time you got to Buck, hearing him calling your name and Pearla barking for your attention. It wasn’t something it commonly did but you just deemed it as your anxiety getting the best of you, struggling to get it open. You were in on a bet with Chimney and Hen since Eddie (surprisingly) and Bobby didn’t want to participate—that you could convince Buck that your new home was haunted.
However you weren’t expecting for him to go investigating and get smacked in the face with the crap ghost machine you purchased off eBay. You were just happy that you weren’t the cause of Buck almost breaking his nose (you didn’t intend for the machine to slide off the shelf) but everything else you’ll take responsibility for.
“Sit,” you ordered Buck by his arms who laughed at you going into your nurturing role, “you know they’ll never believe that right?”
Buck kicks his feet up along the couch with a sigh, “but it could be a plot twist x2 with there actually being some haunted vibes going on. I mean…you did set me up.”
You pout as stood in the kitchen, “it was supposed to be all in good fun but then you had to go Rambo—being Buck. Did I mention how sorry I am?”
Buck laughs, “it’s just a scratch,” as Pearla jumps up beside him to rest her head in his lap, “it’ll heal and I can take a joke but just know…you did start a prank war for the rest of this fall season. You have no idea what you just unleashed.”
You didn’t like how Buck was rubbing his hands together in wicked joy but you’ll learn to deal with it.
“Yeah that’s what Maddie said,” you mumbled as you pulled open the fridge, “so before you come up with those ideas…I can make you your favorite breakfast.”
Buck grins, “that’ll be nice but I’d prefer a cuddle first.”
“Is your head hurting?”
Buck lolls his head, “I told you babe, I feel fine. Now get over here.”
You make a cross motion as you cautiously step over to Buck who shakes his head at you with a grin. Once you’re close enough, he reaches for your sweatshirt to yank you to his other side since Pearla made her claim on his left.
“Now that I know I’m not going crazy anymore, I can really enjoy this house with my two favorite people.” Buck curls a arm around you and rests the other along the back of the couch after patting Pearla’s head.
Resting your head against Buck’s chest you sink into the comfort each other. However that doesn’t last long with the sound of glass shattering from the mirror that once hung on the wall above the wooden chest that contained the record player on top of it.
The silence is almost deafening now as the both of you watch the pieces of the mirror decorate the floor.
Buck says, “Come on, if there was ever a time to be superstitious it’s definitely now.”
You knew a broken mirror was not a good sign and Buck started to feel like it wasn’t really all in his head as the flashes of what happened earlier this morning played back in his head. It couldn’t just be the trash machine you bought whenever and Buck really wasn’t that clumsy to trip over his feet so what gives?
Spookiness can be fun but Buck could always sense when things didn’t exactly feel right anymore? He believed in the full moon, mercury in retrograde and he strongly believed in when things weren’t just a good scare.
“So you agree, we should go house hunting?”
Again? Buck hated the process when he was on his own but with you it felt nice, like there was a definite future to look forward to.
“Yeah,” Buck states, “I think I’m done ghost hunting for awhile.”
“Hell yeah you are.” You respond, keeping your eyes towards the area just in case you saw something else that didn’t sit right with you; while reaching for your phone.
The both of you didn’t bother to debate over where you would be escaping to for the night as you searched your contacts for your realtor and fast.

---
The sun hung low over the Hogwarts grounds, casting long shadows of the towering castle onto the emerald lawns. Y/N stood at the edge of the Quidditch pitch, her heart racing as she watched James Potter soar through the air, his laughter ringing out like music. The Marauders were at their usual practice, and she couldn’t help but feel a pang of longing for the boy who had once been her world.
"Y/N! Come join us!" Sirius Black called out, a broad grin plastered across his face. He waved his broomstick in the air, beckoning her over.
She shook her head, feeling the weight of her unspoken feelings settle heavily in her chest. "I’m fine here, thanks!" she shouted back, her voice barely masking the sorrow that had become so familiar.
James, spotting her from above, waved enthusiastically. “You’re missing out! This new move is epic!”
“Yeah, sure! Epic!” Y/N forced a smile, but inside, she felt the ache of a friendship that had splintered. Once, they had been inseparable, sharing secrets and dreams beneath the stars. Now, James had his friends—the Marauders—and Lily Evans, the girl who had stolen his heart.
As the practice continued, Y/N turned away, her gaze falling on the Forbidden Forest in the distance. Memories flooded back—bittersweet moments of laughter and joy, now tainted by the reality of their growing distance.
“Hey!” A voice broke through her reverie. It was Remus Lupin, his warm brown eyes sparkling with concern. “You alright?”
“Yeah, just… watching,” Y/N replied, forcing her gaze to stay on the ground. The last thing she wanted was for Remus to see the sadness in her eyes.
“James has really taken to Quidditch, hasn’t he?” Remus asked, glancing at the pitch. “He’s got talent.”
“Yeah,” she said softly, her throat tightening. “He’s amazing.”
“Want to talk about it?” Remus probed gently.
“No. I mean, yes! I mean—” Y/N took a deep breath, her frustration bubbling to the surface. “Can’t we just enjoy the moment? I don’t want to ruin it for anyone."
Remus nodded, his expression understanding. “Alright. Just know I’m here if you need to vent.”
“Thanks, Remus,” she muttered, grateful for his kindness. The Marauders were undeniably entertaining, but being around them felt like a constant reminder of what she had lost.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the practice ended. James landed with a flourish, his face flushed with exhilaration. “Did you see that? I almost had the snitch!”
Sirius clapped him on the back, his laugh booming. “You’re a legend, mate! Lily won’t be able to resist you now!”
Y/N’s heart sank further at the mention of Lily. She turned to leave, but a voice stopped her.
“Y/N! Wait!” James called, jogging over, his hair tousled and carefree.
“What?” she asked, trying to sound casual but failing miserably.
“Are you joining us to the feast tonight?” He grinned, a flash of hope in his eyes.
“Uh…” She hesitated, glancing back at the pitch where the others were gathering. “I might… have plans.”
“Plans? With who?” James’s brow furrowed, a hint of concern creeping into his voice.
“Just promised… some friends to join them,” she replied, avoiding his gaze.
“Oh. Right. Friends.” He seemed disappointed but quickly masked it with a smile. “Well, it’s gonna be a great time. You should come!”
“Maybe,” she said, her heart twisting. “I’ll think about it.”
As she walked away, Y/N felt the familiar sting of loneliness. It was a feeling she had grown accustomed to, but it never got easier. The laughter of the Marauders faded behind her, replaced by the silence of her own thoughts.
The Great Hall buzzed with excitement that evening, the enchanted ceiling reflecting the starry night. Y/N sat at a table with her new friends, a group that had welcomed her after the rift with James widened. They laughed and chatted, but her mind was elsewhere.
“Y/N, earth to Y/N!” One of her friends, Maria , waved a hand in front of her face.
“Huh?” Y/N blinked, shaking herself from her thoughts.
“Where were you?” Maria asked, raising an eyebrow. “You’ve been staring at the marauders table for ages.”
“Just… thinking,” Y/N replied, forcing a smile.
“About what? That Potter kid?” Maria teased, nudging her playfully.
“Of course not,” Y/N snapped, then softened. “I mean, maybe a little. It’s hard to ignore him.”
“Why don’t you just tell him how you feel?” Maria suggested, her tone earnest.
“Because it doesn’t matter anymore,” Y/N said, bitterness creeping into her voice. “He’s with Lily now. He barely even knows I exist since he met her and his new friens .”
“No, that’s not true!” Maria insisted. “He waved at you earlier!”
“Yeah, like I’m some sort of ghost,” Y/N muttered, her heart heavy.
“Alright, enough with the pity party!” Maria exclaimed, her voice loud. “Let’s enjoy the feast!”
Y/N forced herself to join in, laughing at Maria’s antics. But every time she glanced at James, who was animatedly talking to Lily, her heart cracked a little more.
Days turned into weeks, and the distance between Y/N and James only grew. The Marauders had become a tight-knit group, while Y/N found solace in her new friends. But something felt incomplete—a piece of her heart remained tethered to a boy who had once been her best friend.
One afternoon, as the leaves turned golden and the air grew crisp, Y/N sat under a tree, sketching in her notebook. The vibrant colors of autumn surrounded her, yet she felt trapped in shades of gray.
“Hey there!” a voice interrupted her solitude. It was Peter, his round face beaming. “What are you up to?”
“Just doodling,” Y/N replied, glancing up at him. “What about you?”
“Nothing much, just trying to avoid the chaos of the Marauders,” he chuckled. “You know how they can be.”
“Yeah, I do,” she said, a wistful smile touching her lips.
“Want to join us? We’re going to the lake for a bit,” Peter offered.
“Sure, why not?” Y/N closed her notebook and stood up. As she walked with Peter toward the lake, she felt a sense of camaraderie that had been missing for so long.
When they arrived, the Marauders were already there, laughing and splashing water at each other. James, with his tousled hair and carefree smile, stood at the edge, tossing stones into the water.
“Y/N!” he called, his face lighting up. “Come join us!”
“Uh, maybe later, when i'll make sure that the giant squid won't drown me” she said, her heart racing. She felt exposed, like her feelings were laid bare for everyone to see.
“Don’t be a coward!” Sirius yelled, splashing water in her direction. “Get in here!”
Against her better judgment, she found herself laughing as she stepped closer. The warmth of friendship enveloped her, but every time she caught James’s eye, she felt that familiar ache.
“Let’s play a game!” Remus suggested, his voice cutting through the noise. “How about a round of water tag?”
“Yeah! I’m in!” James shouted, diving into the lake, laughter trailing behind him.
Y/N hesitated, but the thrill of the moment pulled her in. She joined the fray, splashing and running. Laughter echoed around her, but the moment James tagged Lily, pulling her into a playful embrace, Y/N felt her heart drop.
“Nice move, Prongs!” Sirius hollered, his eyes twinkling. “You’ve got her!”
“Thanks, Pads! I’m unstoppable!” James replied, his laughter ringing out like a triumphant bell.
Y/N stepped back, feeling the laughter fade as she watched them. She could never compete with that, she thought, turning away to hide the tears that threatened to spill.
“Y/N, wait!” Remus’s voice cut through her thoughts. He had noticed her retreat. “Where are you going?”
“I just need some air,” she said, her voice shaky. “I’m not feeling well.”
“Are you sure?” he asked, concern etched on his face. “You don’t have to leave.”
“I’ll be fine,” she insisted, forcing a smile that didn’t reach her eyes. “Just give me a moment.”
As she walked away, the laughter from the lake faded into the background. She sat on a bench near the castle, staring at the ground, trying to push away the storm of emotions inside her.
Weeks turned into months, and the rift between Y/N and James only deepened. The Marauders seemed to grow closer, while Y/N drifted further away, lost in her own world. The holidays approached, and with them, a sense of finality hung in the air.
One evening, as snow began to blanket the grounds, Y/N found herself wandering through the castle's corridors, lost in thought. She paused in front of a window, watching the snowflakes dance outside.
“Hey, Y/N!” a voice called, pulling her from her reverie.
It was James, striding toward her with an easy smile. She felt her heart flutter, but she quickly buried it.
“Hi,” she said, trying to sound casual.
“Nice night, huh?” he gestured to the snow, his breath visible in the cold air.
“Yeah, it is,” Y/N replied, her voice barely above a whisper.
“I haven’t seen you around much,” James continued, his tone more serious. “Is everything okay?”
Y/N’s heart ached at his concern, but she forced a smile. “I’ve just been busy, you know? Studying, hanging out with friends…”
“I miss you,” James said suddenly, his voice softening. “Things aren’t the same without you.”
She looked at him, her emotions threatening to overwhelm her. “I miss you too, James, but… things have changed. You’ve got your friends, your life, and I don’t want to be in the way.”
“You’re never in the way,” he insisted, stepping closer. “You’re my best friend, Y/N. That hasn’t changed.”
“But it has,” she whispered, tears welling in her eyes. “You’ve got Lily now and your new friends, and I’m… I’m just me.”
“Lily’s great, and the marauders too, but that doesn’t mean I don’t care about you,” James said, his eyes searching hers.
Y/N shook her head, the tears finally spilling over. “It’s just… too hard, James. I care about you so much, but I don’t think I can keep pretending it doesn’t hurt to see you with her.”
“Y/N…” James’s voice broke, his face etched with guilt and sadness.
“I need to move on, James,” she said, her voice trembling. “I need to find my own happiness, even if it means letting go of our friendship.”
James opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out. Instead, he reached out, pulling her into a tight embrace. Y/N felt her resolve crumble as she clung to him, tears soaking his sweater.
“Promise me you’ll still be my friend,” he whispered, his voice thick with emotion.
“I promise,” she replied, her voice barely audible.
They stood there for what felt like an eternity, the snow outside falling silently, as if the world itself was holding its breath. When they finally pulled apart, Y/N felt a strange sense of peace, as if the weight on her heart had finally lifted.
“Take care of yourself, James Potter,” she said, her voice steady now.
“You take of your self, Y/N,” he replied,
As she walked away, Y/N felt a mixture of relief and sorrow. The bond between them had been fractured, but perhaps, in time, it would heal. For now, she needed to find her own path, even if it meant walking it alone.
The snow continued to fall, blanketing the castle in a soft, silent embrace, as Y/N disappeared into the night, ready to face whatever the future held.
---
The dim lights of the Muggle bar cast a warm glow over the wooden tables and the soft hum of conversations filled the air. Y/N sat at the bar, nursing a drink as she stared into the amber liquid. It had been years since she’d seen any of her old school friends, years since she’d felt that familiar mix of camaraderie and nostalgia that had defined her youth.
“Hey, Y/N!” a voice called out, breaking through her thoughts. She turned to see Sirius Black striding toward her, his trademark grin lighting up his face. “What are you doing here, all alone? Thought you might’ve turned into a statue.”
“Very funny, Sirius.” Y/N forced a smile, though her eyes betrayed her. “Just… reminiscing.”
“About what? The time James nearly got us all kicked out for trying to charm the jukebox?” Sirius chuckled, his laughter cutting through the bar's background noise.
Y/N’s heart twisted at the mention of James. He had always been the life of the party, the one with the infectious smile and mischievous glint in his eyes. But over the years, that image had become blurred, overshadowed by his friendships and his infatuation with Lily Evans. Now, James was nothing more than a bittersweet memory.
“Something like that,” she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.
Sirius studied her for a moment, his expression shifting from amusement to concern. “You okay? I know things were… complicated back in the day.”
“Yeah, complicated.” She laughed softly, the sound tinged with sadness. “I guess we all drifted apart. I found my own way, made some new friends, you know?”
“Right, right.” Sirius scratched the back of his neck, a hint of awkwardness creeping into his demeanor. “But you’re back now. That’s something, right?”
“Yeah.” She glanced around the bar, watching the flickering candles on the tables. “It feels different, though. Like everything’s changed.”
“Maybe we can change that,” he suggested, his voice brightening. “How about a little reunion? Just us, like old times?”
A lump formed in her throat. “I don’t know, Sirius. It’s been ages. What if—”
“What ifs don’t matter. Come on, it’ll be fun! I’ll even buy the first round.”
“Fine,” she relented, a small smile creeping onto her face. “But only if you promise not to get us thrown out.”
“Deal!” he laughed, and for a moment, the weight on her heart lightened.
The night of the reunion arrived, and the bar was more lively than usual. The usual background chatter was replaced by the sounds of laughter and clinking glasses. Y/N stood at the entrance, her heart racing as she spotted familiar faces around a table in the back.
“Look who finally decided to show up!” Peter exclaimed, waving her over.
“Glad to see you, Y/N!” Remus added, a kind smile on his face.
“Hey, everyone!” she replied, forcing enthusiasm into her voice. As she moved closer, her eyes caught on James. He looked older, more mature, but that same playful sparkle remained in his eyes.
“Y/N!” he called out, breaking into a grin that sent her heart fluttering. “You made it!”
“Of course,” she replied, her voice steadier than she felt. “Wouldn’t miss it.”
“Grab a drink!” Sirius nudged her toward the bar, and she complied, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness.
As they settled into conversation, Y/N found herself laughing and sharing stories, each moment pushing the past further behind her. Yet, every time her gaze drifted to James, the ache of lost time returned.
“Hey, you want to step outside for a bit?” James asked, interrupting her thoughts. “It’s getting a bit loud in here.”
“Sure,” she replied, her heart racing as they stepped out into the cool night air.
Once outside, the sounds of the bar faded, leaving them in the stillness of the night. Y/N glanced up at the stars, avoiding his gaze.
“So… how have you been?” he asked, his voice breaking the silence.
“Busy with work. You know how it is,” she replied, trying to keep her tone light. “And you? Still with Lily?”
James sighed, his shoulders slumping slightly. “Not anymore. We… we broke up.”
“Oh.” The word slipped from her lips before she could stop it. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s fine.” He ran a hand through his hair, frustration etched on his face. “It was my fault, really. I couldn’t give her what she wanted. I thought… I thought I loved her, but I was just lost.”
“Lost?”
“Yeah.” He took a deep breath, his blue eyes searching hers. “I thought I needed to be with her to prove something. But I realized I was just pushing away the people who actually mattered to me—like you.”
A heavy silence fell again, and Y/N felt a whirlwind of emotions. “I moved on, James. I had to.”
“I know.” He shifted, looking pained. “But I missed you. We all did. I thought I could handle everything—our friendships, my relationship with Lily—but it just made me feel more alone.”
“We already had this conversation, about our friendship, we agreed on moving on James, it was mutual” she asked, her voice trembling slightly.
"I know, but I didnt want this " He stepped closer, his expression earnest. “I thought you were fine without me.”
“I was trying to be,” she admitted, her heart racing. “But I missed you too.”
The tension crackled between them, and Y/N felt a pull, like gravity drawing her closer to him. “James…”
“Y/N, I—” he started, but she interrupted.
“You were busy with your life. I didn’t want to be the one left behind.”
“Lily left me because she felt I didn’t love her,” he said, his voice low and heavy. “But I did. I just didn’t know how to show it. I’ve spent too long pretending.”
“Pretending?” she echoed.
“Pretending to be someone I thought everyone wanted me to be. But I’ve changed. I want to be honest, especially with you.”
The sincerity in his voice made her stomach flip. “What are you saying?”
“I’m saying that I still care about you, Y/N. More than I thought possible. And I realize now that I’ve always loved you.”
Her breath caught in her throat. “James, I—”
“Please, let me finish.” He took a step closer, his gaze unwavering. “I don’t want to lose you again. I’ve spent so long regretting that fallout between us. I don’t want to pretend anymore, I love you Y/n”
Tears pricked at her eyes as she processed his words. “You mean it?”
“Every word,” he said, his voice steady. “I want to make this right.”
“I…love you too, and I want that too.” Her heart raced, a mix of hope and fear coursing through her. “But what if we just end up hurting each other again?”
“Then we’ll figure it out together,” he replied, determination in his voice. “I want to try. You mean too much to me.”
With a shaky breath, Y/N took a step toward him, closing the distance. “I’ve missed you, James. I thought I’d moved on, but I never really did.”
He reached for her hand, entwining their fingers. “Then let’s not waste any more time. We can start over.”
As they stood there, the world around them seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of them under the vast expanse of stars. The past had shaped them, but it wouldn’t define their future.
“Together?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
“Together,” he confirmed, his smile lighting up the night.
Months passed, and the impromptu reunion had ignited a spark that neither had anticipated. Y/N and James navigated their new relationship with care, each moment filled with laughter and discovery. They spent evenings exploring new places, sharing stories of old friends and lost dreams, rebuilding the bond that had once felt irreparably broken.
“I can’t believe we let so much time slip away,” James said one evening as they walked down a quiet street after dinner.
“Yeah, but maybe it was all part of the journey.” Y/N leaned against him, the warmth of his presence comforting. “We’re here now.”
“Right. And I won’t let you go again.” He wrapped an arm around her, pulling her closer.
As they walked together under the streetlights, Y/N smiled, feeling a sense of belonging that had eluded her for so long. The echoes of their past intertwined with the promise of a brighter future, and for the first time in years, she felt whole.

Dear god in heaven I loathe these people. Go away! Also I desperately, desperately need that phone call thing to be canon. But I love both scenarios. They feel true to both characters.
Q. I need you to be so serious. The conversation that needs to take place that you all and the show don't want to acknowledge is that Tommy made Evan. Before he started dating Tommy he was a spoiled, immature, narcissistic brat. In other words he was Buck. Tommy made him more compassionate. More thoughtful. More mature and confident in his own skills and abilities. Buck was an insignificant little boy. Evan is an accomplished capable man. The show is trying to revert him back into Buck. You all should be disgusted.
Q. If you could write it, how would you write Buck and Eddie each having their recognition moment? Do you think they'll both have their moment at the same time or separately?
A. To the first anon, what the actual fuck? Tell me you haven't watched a single second of this show that didn't include your walking piece of shit without telling me you haven't bothered to watch any part of the actual show. At some point being this stupid has to be painful. I mean it cannot be possible to be this fucking stupid without some kind of physical pain. Is this Lou's latest take? Are these his new marching orders since the pathetic hashtag stunt went completely ignored? I'm not going to waste my time explaining all the ways you're wrong about Buck. But I will be happy to tell you that the only thing Tommy did was introduce him to dick. That's it. That was Tommy's purpose. To make Buck aware that he is also attracted to men. But do you really want to know who helped Buck grow up a bit? It was meeting Eddie and Christopher. Becoming a part of their lives, and having a relationship with Christopher that involves some level of parenting. Abby, Eddie, Christopher and the family Buck made at the 118. Those are the people that helped shape Buck into the man he is today. Tommy had nothing to do with making Buck the person he is. Being bisexual is not why Buck is the person he is. Your sexuality is not what makes you a good or bad person. Tommy introduced Buck to his attraction to men. And while that is significant in its own way it has nothing whatsoever to do with who Buck is as a person. Tommy is gay and a prick. But he's not a prick because he's gay. He's a prick because he scolded a grown man for having the audacity to be nervous while on his first date with a man. He's a prick for making a closet joke in front of that nervous man's best friend. He's a prick for leaving that same confused man alone on a curb. He's a prick for calling his boyfriend Evan, even though everyone knows he doesn't like to be associated with that name. He's a prick for not knowing after 6 months that his boyfriend doesn't like basketball. He's a prick because he's racist and sexist. He's a prick because he led a woman on for years and when he dumped her and broke her heart he made fun of the way she tried to help herself heal. None of that is because he's gay. It's because he's just not a good guy. He and Lou seem to have that in common. Great taste you've got there.
To the second anon, thank you for the ask and the opportunity to hijack the first anons ask to talk about Buddie. I actually really like that question and I know we all kind of wanted this big dramatic near death feelings realization, and while we still may get that in some way, it's looking more likely that it won't be quite that dramatic. I do think Eddie is the one we actually need to see have some kind of moment in the mid season finale though. If it's not going to be a nde then I like the idea of the episode ending with Eddie and Buck at Eddie's house. Maybe they had several close calls throughout the episode and Eddie has decided to go get Christopher so he and Buck are just relaxing and hanging out before Eddie leaves. They are clearly choosing to frame whatever realization Eddie needs to come to around him allowing himself joy and finding joy for himself so I think that would carry over into any kind of Buck feelings. I also don't think they will have him say he's gay. I think they will frame it as a Buck thing. So if he's decided to go get Christopher he's feeling hopeful and a little nervous in that moment. Maybe Buck is still feeling a little down and a little in his own head. I like the idea of another voice over at the end of the episode about choosing your people and the universe bringing you your person even if you aren't quite ready for them yet. Maybe in an effort to try to cheer Buck up Eddie says something along the lines of 'it really does help' and Buck kind of smiles and says something like 'you promise'? And we see them look at each other and Eddie turns music on and we see them get up and just dance around Eddie's living room. We see them carefree and laughing and just simply enjoying the company of one another. For Eddie it can be as simple as that. He can stop and ask Buck to come with him to get Christopher. Buck would ask him if he's sure and Eddie could simply say something like 'yeah I'm choosing my joy'. It doesn't have to be any kind of verbal declaration. It can be something that soft and just for them but the audience would know. That's all it would take.
Now if I was writing it for Buck I would still have them at Eddie's house at the end of the episode and I would still have Eddie decide to go get Christopher. They would still have had the close calls of the day so maybe Buck is just hyper aware of himself in that moment and he and Eddie are sitting close on the couch and Buck can comment on how much lighter Eddie looks than he has the last several months. And we see a flicker of something pass across Buck's face. I still want a voice over but maybe this one would be about choosing to get off the familiar path and deciding to take the path that is unknown but holds the possibility of something greater. I would want the camera to pan to Buck's phone and the audience to see that Tommy is calling him. I would want the voice over to say something like the familiar path is tempting because there are no unknowns that way. We know what happens on the familiar path that's why we usually take it. Then I want Buck to see that Tommy is calling him and the voice over to say something like so do we take the path we know or do we make the brave choice. Do we take the unknown path the path that can hurt us in unimaginable ways but the path that also holds the most amazing potential. And Eddie can ask him 'who is it'? And we see Buck take a deep breath, smile to himself, dismiss the call and say 'just a wrong number'. Again that tells the audience everything we need to know. Buck removing himself from the hamster wheel and choosing the new path. I love the idea of the wrong number analogy for Buck's realization.
Both ways are simple and fitting for them and would tell the audience exactly where the story is going. Their history has done all the groundwork for them. Their realizations don't have to be any bigger than that for the audience to know what's coming. 💗
Thank you Nonny!
For the sake of my sanity and patience I have decided to only focus on the second question and answer. I can't cope with these people and their delusional thinking anymore. I'm trying to ignore as much as a I can of their drivel.
So I'll go right to my positive place and tell you all that I have already mentally started manisfesting Ali's wonderful Buddie speculations two days ago when she shared one of them. I figured I would get a head start and then it actually might come true.
After all, it worked with the BT breakup. 😋
IMPORTANT! Please don't repost this ask and/or a link that leads straight to my Tumblr account on Twitter or any other social media. Thank you!
