We need to talk about the end of Empress of Mars in season 10. Because FUCK dude. FUCK. It's such a small scene but the implications are huge.

Missy leaves the Vault. She leaves, but she does not escape. She goes with Nardole to rescue the Doctor, knowing that he would force her back to the Vault. She had the opportunity to escape, but chose not to, because the Doctor needed her help.

When he sees her, the first thing he's worried about is making sure she knows that she'll have to go back, and she just agrees. Willingly. And she doesn't even care, she more concerned with asking if he's okay. She was worried about him. One of the first things she says is asking if he's okay.

She walks up to him, eyes him up and down, and asks if he's okay. He doesn't respond, and the episode ends.

She asked if he was okay.

Rewatching TFA, for the hundredth time in a row, and I've got to say. I used to think Sari was, kind of annoying, during my first initial watch and sometimes. The things she does makes me go wide-eyed and gripping at the screen going, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?"

But then now, as I'm rewatching it hundreds of times over. I have to physically remind myself that she is a child.

And not only that, but she was a child that was BARELY raised properly. She didn't have other children to socialize around, she had a robot teacher, a robot dog companion, and her occasionally in her life father who was busy manufacturing robots, entertaining the ideas of tours and etcetera.

So maybe, yes. I can definitely understand why she does rash things, and act the way she does. I understand why she's seen as a social outcast amongst other groups of kids (like in the show, ON HER BIRTHDAY).

And I'm not as mad as her, as anybody should be for a child who was raised/taught the wrong things or having not been taught at all.

However...

While he was repressed then, he wasn't as of Charlie's Home Alone, so I think it's clear to claim that a part of his "homosexual awakening" was connected to the fact that he was gradually getting more and more into the idea of being punished (gone sexual) for his sins, to a point where he was just genuinely jerking off to the "evils of homosexuality"

I do wanna continue here though and say Season 15 is pretty interesting because we see Mac battle between being Catholic and proudly gay. He seemingly has no issue bragging to a Priest in the middle of a church that he's into triple penetration, but it is his sex life that is the driving "reasoning" for why he thinks he should become a Catholic Priest:

He's been "S-ing&F-ing" his way though life for too long and now he thinks God has taken away one of his identities (Irish) as a result. Mac's idea of being punished by/for God continues, but it's now through the form of revocation (as opposed to shame or flagellation). I think there's a clear "connect the dots" idea that depriving himself of sex (via becoming a Priest) is an "evolved" form of allowing God to punish him for being gay.

Obviously Mac learns he was lied to, as he actually is Irish, so his "journey" here is a bit of a wash, but the fact that his rationale jumped to God punishing him for having gay sex still stands. As he grows to accept himself, he's still looking for ways to feel shame (which, as we've seen, gets him off)...

But is the constant seeking for some form of punishment still there? We didn't see much of his Catholicism in Season 16 (I think the only mention of God from Mac was in The Gang Gets Cursed), but we did continue to see his sex life and—well, that was pretty heavy on Mac, openly gay dating, somehow managing to be neglected and deprived of actual gay sex, wasn't it?

honestly, i am so impressed with how much is actually packed into each episode of we are. with essentially sixteen hours of screentime, things could have been dragged out unnaturally, scenes could have gone on forever, but no. they are so dynamic on their own and next to one another - they are exactly right.

i was just remembering yesterday that we still had the aquarium trip left (because phuwin has wanted to take pond for ages and it finally happened thanks to filming) and a get-together where they are dressed in matching dotted shirts (as we have seen pics of them filming it months ago). i was sure the latter would happen in the finale because we already have the former, the rest of the chiang mai trip with some scenes for at least three couples (including phumpeem's first time), a return to bangkok, and phum's birthday. but no, looking at the still shots for this episode, the get-together is also happening today, plus there is one more phumpeem scene outside of all that based on what they are wearing.

and it's honestly so funny to me that some people complained nothing is happening in the series, because it's actually such a perfect slice of life that never forgets its characters, their relationships, their development, it never leaves questions hanging for too long (or forever, like certain series do), never dismisses previously established ideas that are important to the viewer and the characters, never considers something that was central to the plot at some point suddenly unimportant. and all of that is packed into scenes that never feel out of place, never seem too short or too long, too slow or too fast, never feel unearned or like they are there just to fill screen time. and these scenes are all perfectly woven together to make a beautiful tapestry that is the world of we are.

Nick himself said that his knowledge is confined to the leaks prior to s4, the s4 scripts from his verified source (likely within a source) and basic knowledge most fans paying attention have been able to formulate about s5 based on what has been released officially/unofficially, trends from Netflix and common sense.

He is saying based on all that, he doesn’t think byler is happening. 

And if we think back to what the Duffers themselves shared in the 4x09 script, it literally implies Mike’s monologue worked, and that it was entirely genuine. This tells me that the script the Duffers released for Emmy consideration, is not that far off from what Nick saw for himself. 

I think it’s likely Nick got something that the average below the line worker might manage to get their hands on if they tried hard enough. A copy they know they have to water-down to prevent these very situations from happening.

Unfortunately for the Duffers, it just so happens that they didn’t scrub their watered down copy hard enough.

Unfortunately for Nick, he admitted that it’s possible and even likely that the production will release things that aren’t exactly accurate with the sole purpose to lead fans sleuthing astray, without realizing it may have ironically already happened to him.
