me personally i find designs that are like. well we all know the tumblr sexyman style. annoying. however i do also find designs that feel like their whole basis of inspiration is spiting the tumblr sexyman style also deeply annoying. because i think neither of these really try to like. design a character. one of them is about well here's what is conventionally attractive/cool/etc. and the other also doesn't design the character it's just someone throwing rocks at the first design, not taking the character into account but just trying to win the most smugness points possible in disavowing the stereotypicality of the initial approach. is anyone out there

on a more serious note i know ad astra as a whole isnt over but i still want to thank daybreaker for their fics. what friends are for was the very first md fic i ever stumbled upon when trying out ao3 for the first time, and prior to joining the server i was checking it near daily for uploads. god knows if i'd be as deep in ao3 as i am now if it werent for this story and convenient timing. Of course I had to introduce him as such #Im pretty sure its not JZX who kicks him the first time but birthday boy on birthday boy violence is too funny to pass up #Madam yu being mosskin-like but distinctly not from the same clan was pretty important to me when designing her. But I was at such a loss!#By *chance* I saw The Hunter's design and thought 'YEAH THATS THE ONE'. so im making an AU that like, changes canon QUITEEE A BITTT and its gonna be a bit more disturbing i guess. Bare bones of it is basically everybody survived after Giorno defeated the boss (Fugo still doesn't join them) Abbachio and Bruno moved to France to start over while the rest stay in Italy. Fugo kept contact through emails and texts with the gang but he grows further away from them. yet he seems to like Narancia more with the lack of contact and gains a newly born obsession.

I guess you never know what you had until you lost it.

#sorry i just saw that poll that was going around. what do you mean theres people saying no ....#im not gonna elabroate too much rn because i dont feel like writing a whole essay on it but #the sonic franchise absolutely has its moments of mistreating its female cast and its wild to me that people can just. not notice ?#like yeah theres a lot of great and loveable female characters but that doesnt mean theyre never portrayed in a misognyistic way #or dont fall into a pattern of misogynistic writing choices even if the character is fine on her own #do you never pay attention to the amount of screentime or plot relevance a lot of them tend to get ?#or what storylines and roles theyre given?#what types of personalities and designs theyre allowed to have and how much variation they get compared to the boys ?#if theyre ever allowed to interact with other girls onscreen?#i think things Have gotten a bit better in more recent years but thats mostly because idw sonic is doing a lot of the heavy lifting here #and obviously im not saying any of this out of hatred for sonic. you can like something and admit that it has issues in certain areas

i wish i was able to enjoy robins new look for what it represents (her journey of healing from two decades of trauma and a call back to who she was a child before the buster call) instead of being tired of people acting as if she’s been “gone” just because they didn’t like her design (which was also part of her journey of healing her trauma) because it didn’t match what they thought she be

#i really do love what her going back to her bangs symbolizes but i have to stay out of the tags #bc i really don’t care for people who trash on the post ts design and it is basically just full of people celebrating a ‘win’ that #really shouldn’t be a ‘win’ because there was nothing wrong with robins post ts design in the first place #it just sucks i feel like a lot of ppl clung onto who she was when she wasn’t healing and was still traumatized and not letting ppl in #and don’t understand that that wasn’t HER you can’t go back to that because going back to that represents her character reverting #anyways. i think im gonna try to let it go and stop posting so much about it and i appreciate everyone being patient with me as i #our mr salt #one piece spoilers #op spoilers
