Really funny (and great!!) to see people getting into Guy because of the movie. First off, I am not at all complaining. I love Guy, glad he’s getting more attention. But I will admit it’s funny to look at posts and see what people do or don’t know from the comics. Like I’ve seen a few people question why a bowl cut and there is a reason!! Unfortunately it’s linked to child abuse (specifically having agency while within an abusive household, more or less). So. Not very happy and usually makes me think twice before making fun of it (though it is a silly hair cut, I’m not making any moral judgements). I’ve also seen some mention like, a hypothetical s/o for Guy being more impressed by Superman and thats canon <3 her name is Tora Olafsdotter and she and Guy dated in JLI. Also within that comic arc, she had a framed picture of Superman on her bedside that Guy was not a fan of.

Look Ik hot weather is terrible, but holy hell I love the summer

And oh my god, beaches, don’t even get me started on beaches- I love you white-sand covered, crowded SoCal beaches. I love you palm trees and peachy sunsets. I love you Long Beach and Redondo, I love you Santa Monica Pier. I love you rocky Pacific Northwest coastlines, I love you Seaside, I love you Astoria, I love you San Juan Islands, I love you Port Angeles. And Northern California- oh sure Santa Cruz is gentrified to hell and back, but Lordy the boardwalk still looks amazing as ever, with the neon lights and rides and raging waters. I love you surfing and surf shops with shitty mood necklaces and stoner cashiers. I love the way the light reflects off of those sparkly suncatchers in the windows of glass blowing studios. I love you statues of mermaids and candy striped retro diners. I love you ships-in-bottles, I love you spyglasses and anchors. I love you sailor tattoos and square-rigged knots. I love you fishing lures with big silly eyes. I love wandering through the remains of one of those sandcastle competitions. I love shipwrecks in the sand. I love boardwalks and fishing piers and the smell of fish and salt. I love the awful briney taste my mouth gets from hours in the water. I love you seagulls. I love you fishermen in yellow raincoats. hm..... pomni taking peoples hand as a repeating image in the show..... happens in ep 1, with ragatha, its kinda evoked with her reaching for the final exit door, ep 2 is pretty blatant with it i dont need to say anything else on that, and in episode 3 the scene with kinger..... episode 4 doesnt have anything with this i dont think (i COULD technically say her raising her hand at the beginning of the ep but that is a MASSIVE stretch and doesnt fit with what the other instances seem to be representing. her waving at gummigoo MAYBE but the image just really isnt present in the episode, looking at it realistically) but im thinking about this...... cus i feel like its probably notable in the dream sequence in ep 2 that its her arm that gets all fucked up

Seen a lot of stuff lately of people just berating others for having takes on characters that they don’t agree with or that don’t align with their take, like girl it’s a fictional character they’re not real, and especially if it’s a fictional character who’s backstory/lore is quite vague, let people believe what they want it’s not that serious, I’ve got certain views on characters that don’t line up with how other people see them and vice versa, that doesn’t mean anybody’s right or wrong, even if it’s less canon-compliant, literally who cares. It’s a silly little made up person with a silly little made up backstory and we’re just making silly little headcanons, like bro it’s not that deep, and I’m tired of people getting so pissy with others about “issues” like this.

Yay Fairy Tail ask :3 honestly I don't know if I'm going to ramble a lot

I looooved Freed Justine so much he was my hyperfixation for around seven years! It was a love from first sight (well, initially I couldn't understand if he was a guy or a girl but I'm almost always mistaken about my favorite characters at first). I like characters on the opposite side that question what they are doing, that are noble and follow the rules. Well, when he betrayed his guild to follow Laxus he wasn't very noble and he couldn't follow all rules, which also makes him interesting in this conflict. His internal struggle (which wasn't shown in Evergreen or Bickslow) had me wondering what he was going to do next. Not to mention his dark magic connected to languages. The principle is so unique and I wish we saw more of it! It's probably a coincidence that I'm majoring in languages and he's dark ecriture mage but it makes it even better. I must say, there was a moment where I thought I would never forgive him: him tormenting Elfman. It felt unnecessary and cruel, especially taking into account Mirajane's trauma. But somehow I forgave Freed after his defeat and his words that he didn't want to do that. I can't say he really redeemed himself but considering how Laxus was expelled and Freed kinda helped Canna and Lucy in the trial of becoming S wizard at least he tried. Plus, in my opinion his character was severely downgraded after around Tenrou island ark. He was fangirling over Laxus (at least for me it felt like that and nothing more), he was beaten by enemies and... that's it... Yes, he had a major role in defeating Acnologia because he wrote enchantments with Levi; he also helped defending Magnolia from Zeref's army earlier. But it felt as if his character lost its depth. Kind of as karma decided to take away his depth because of his wrongdoings earlier. Although I guess it's to be expected from secondary (or even less important) character.

There is another character quite important to me: Mirajane. I loved her from the first sight because of her calm demeanor and kindness. Well, not always calm considering it's Fairy Tail. But when she tried to sacrifice herself pretending to be Lucy, when she was viewed as weak because she couldn't use her powers as before, I loved her. I really like characters that are underdogs. But then it happened. Battle of Fairytail, where her brother, the only sibling left, almost died. She asked, she begged, she was ignored. And so she snapped. She became Satan, something that felt the opposite of her personality. Mercilessly and swiftly she attacked Freed, who had no chances of winning. She was clearly superior, worthy of her title. Finally, her enemy was lying on the ground, one hit would finish the job... One hit that was never delivered. She could not take a life when her sister's death was hurting so much. I was impressed so much how she not only spared Freed, she offered a helping hand. Looking back, she had right to kill him but she refused and it was so much more impactful. This battle remains my favorite from all anime. Also, this might be a hot take but I'm glad Lissana is alive. I don't know if it takes away Mirajane's and Elfman's development, but they deserve their happiness. Fairy Tail in general is quite merciful, so I don't see a problem. Aaand I love her name because Mir means peace. So fitting for her

Well, as for the power I think that I'd love to have something connected with mind or even language like Levy's or Freed's magic. Or Rufus has memory magic, that was awesome! It would be wonderful to be able to sing while environment adapts to the song. The poetry/song mage sounds epic. And I'd like to be able to fly, my childhood dream

Finally, guild! I think that Fairy Tail is the best guild option because of their camaraderie. They would protect their members with their lives. When I was younger I was opposed to their destructiveness but in general I think I'd like to be part of this guild. They are so silly and there would be so many adventures! And, to be honest, no other guild really attracts me as much as Fairy Tail

and i think the crux of it is that jax' model is very much a prey animal, something that contradicts his general tendency for reckless, mean bullshit. there could be something there about him having front-facing eyes too. and iirc gooseworx said the farm was a lie which i do take into account but also i think it helps w his generally very 'natural' or real-world-nature design components and ideas being evoked. he has clothes and these clothes are very minimal and hes a real animal fairly closely associated with farming or hunting and is very humanlike and his pocket just Has Mulch in it. even if the farm isnt real theres definitely something his design is evoking here

that and an idea ive thought of is that rabbits are VERY much animals that operate on instinct. they do a lot of things based on an immediate need, typically for survival, at least in the wild. and i dont know if id describe jax as fearful (some could argue he is in his own way, which i dont disagree with, but i think the implications can be a bit loaded- but theres many ways a person can be fearful) but he definitely operates on what he immediately wants. he wants to have fun. so he DOES. it doesnt matter what that entails. he wants control, so he takes it out on the others. it doesnt matter what that entails. etc etc. hes also running from something and i think the image of a rabbit fits that well

i think its deliberate that jax is the only design that actually revolves around an animal that we see. theres dobby and that worm on a string in the back but of the main cast its ALL humans or items, jax is the only one whos an animal (and probably still intended to be toy-like, but none of the others have distinct animals theyre meant to be). and it feels purposeful in a way i genuinely think about a lot. i cant place what its implying for certain because i genuinely dont think we have enough information on jax to fully understand his thought processes, but it does make him very connected to the real world, but in a distant way
