OKAY so i got my brother into infested and his theory was the blood showed infected state and both shadow and sonic are in kinda the "hivemind space". Sonic is completely covered in blood, so he's more "infested", while Shadow is new blood so his right arm is only bloodied. We both are under the impression that Rouge and Tails are fine. I'm more 100% about Rouge, because Shadows RIGHT hand is bloodied (assuming its not a hallucination). This implies that the buggo was not using Shadows full strength and may have attacked wildly once activated. Rouge, while a bit distracted at the time, was in the middle of GUN HQ with Omega presumably doors away. I think she may have been wounded, but she should be fine. idk wtf is going on with sonic. But, tails is one of my blorbos and hes smart so he should be fiine. If we wanna look into it, due to earlier concept arts we can see Tails looking at Sonic in concern, so he was already aware that something was wrong. Again working under the assumption that hes wounded, but will eventually bounce back. my brothers final theory is that the plot is gonna advance to where sonic and shadow face off, because Sonic is more "in the hivemind" and has to be saved. My theory is that Shadow is probably too inundated to hurt sonic, so he probably can't face him, but I do think he will be the one to destroy the hivemind at the end. He's one of the strongest Mobians alive, and technically should survive being struck aggressively by lightning and/or whatever is needed to kill buggo. I dont know if Sonic can be saved tho (L bozo).
Interesting stuff, and happy to welcome your brother aboard!
Fr that's pretty creative and insightful though. I wish I could say more, but I really can't. All I can do is share your ask and be like "woaw!" about it.
So, y'know, woaw!

lol, forgot this show was a thing for a whole month. um, there's more nomus, there's smart nomus I think, endeavor fucking died except he didn't, anyway now it's movie time so probably nothing relevant to the current plot will happen and also nothing in this movie will become relevant to the plot even if it should. (bnha movie 2, heroes rising)
cg cars I think? ohey it's Lizardman from Every Villain Is Lemons. and some buckethead rando who looks like they wandered in from Dark Souls. and that… dude… the lock guy, forget his name. -- did yall fucking kidnap actual literal vegeta from dragonball
yooo it's fukken happening, Dancing Boy's fighting Frowny Man, I didn't think that was til next season
so they were actually just transporting solid snake?
(intro spiel) ♪ and then one sunny afternoon, All Might came to say... ♪
beach episode stuffs ig, no notes cept why did they have to intro mineta first
...tokoyami can fly? in broad daylight? is that, like... is that legit, or just movie-show inconsistency?
("you took an hour to find a lost kid? I'm gonna leave a bad review") should've scolded that kid back for making a fake call and wasting time that could've been spent responding to an emergency
bakugo: "I'm reserve, that means I can lie around and do fuckall unless a villain shows up" -- "cool, thanks for volunteering for guard duty" 'XD got his ass

"wh-what is this?" …so wait, you both did detroit smash and opened the clouds and shit and some lady started singing the star spangled banner or wevertf and you DIDN'T EVEN HIT THE BAD GUY WITH IT -- YOU BOTH HAVE FUCKING PURPLE ARMS AND YOU DID NOT EVEN HIT THE BAD GUY WITH IT??? HE'S STANDING RIGHT THERE TAUNTING AND POWERING UP WTF YOU JUST WASTED SO MUCH
this is some good-ass animation that they've decided to mute and set to America's football halftime showtune (it's just all slow and loud and showy so it makes me think of that, I have no idea what the actual song is but I think most of it's in English)
I'll say this about the last quarter, I like the bad guy's purple energy butterfly wings
"sayonara, one for all, I leave you in the most abusive, self-centered person I know's homicidal hands" -- "the predecessors gave them a miracle…" okay so maybe all might doesn't know better, but the previous avatars do and rejected vegeta, thank fuck
"good night, Nine. good work." but he didn't do anything here. also can handface eat people's quirks too?
"vegeta doesn't remember anything about the transfer of one for all…" again, thank fuck. I guess they knew he'd be impossible to write from there without officially making him an antagonist. hell, how often does a movie have to specify one character not remembering the events from it? (I know, from the writer's perspective it's just that he would talk about it, but really, they're way too generous to his personality in general)
the kid's only got a healing quirk, stop telling him he'll be a hero, he'll think he's a front-liner when he can do no good there. the back line is just as important.
eh. end part was a little annoying, but was good movie overall. Pretty much everybody got to do cool shit, and the action bits were cool.

Going off the deleted sequences that Freddy already knew Larry's name from his report- it's one of their first casual hookups so they don't know names yet and are using Orange/White (though that idea on its own is so hot), but Freddy gets real into it (as he does), and accidentally slips up and moans "Larry" and then has to clean that mess up real quick lmao
damn this one was hard and took 4ever, I really liked the idea tho
Mr White had taken a shine to Freddy straight away, which was great for the job, having someone so close to Joe eager to mentor Freddy, and he was surprisingly easy to talk to, friendly, good sense of humour, (hot for an old guy, silver fox, shut up newandyke, play it cool), made Freddy feel relaxed and comfortable (“dont ever, ever let your guard down, especially around this Dimmick guy” Holdaway had told him, “you know what’s he’s done, you know what he’s probably done. This motherfucker is dangerous, cunning too, enough to not get caught”). In a way it fucked Freddy up, made him terrified about his cover when he needed to be calm, was hard for him to imagine Lawrence Dimmick in the mugshots was the same guy eating burgers with him and chuckling together over lame jokes, once Freddy was going to mention something about White’s prison stay but shut up quickly, forgot whether White had mentioned that himself or whether he’d read it from his rapsheet.
One hot day after they’d gone over the escape route for the third time, White said “gotta stop in at my place” he didn’t mention dropping Freddy off so Freddy didn’t ask. (You’re a weed dealer, you hang with other dealers and stoners, you come into stranger’s places all the time, he’s starting to trust you, might be able to gleam something interesting you can report back with.)
It was a small motel room, a living room and kitchen in one, an open door with a small shower and toilet in the room, and a closed door which freddy guessed had the bed. “You want a beer Orange?” White asked, “yeah, sure” freddy said and then gave a shrug which came off more awkward than cool.
White tossed him a can then opened the tab of his own (DAMN this guy had good arms), Freddy didnt realise he was staring til he glanced up n White was smirking at him, had caught Freddy checking him out. Freddy blushed deep, oh shit, he should probably leave, supercool Mr Orange was starting to crack and all that would be left would be nerdy faggy Freddy Newandyke.
Before he could move White stepped forward towards him, put his arm out, and cupped Freddy’s face in his palm. It was unexpected but for some reason Freddy didnt jump, instead nuzzled his face into the hand, He felt white’s thumb on his lip, opened his mouth slightly, and white slipped it in, Freddy sucking obediently. “mmmm” white said appreciatively, his grin getting bigger, cheshire cat who got the cream.
Fuck it, White obviously wanted this and Freddy did too. Freddy let go off White’s thumb and sunk to his knees. He drew his breath in staring at White’s crotch, could see the outline of his hardening dick through the pants. “wanna suck you” he said, flicking his eyes up. White’s hand cupped his head again, this time along his hair, “oh you are eager huh buddy boy?” and Freddy nodded. Suddenly white grabbed the shoulder of his shirt and lifted him up, “I wanna kiss you first” and pressed his mouth on Freddys, arms going around Freddys waist, pulling him in. He kissed Freddy hungrily, like he was savouring him, White broke away for a few seconds to take a breath then started up again. The kiss ended reluctantly, both slightly panting.
White didn’t lead him to the bedroom, and for some reason Freddy was grateful, would’ve made it seem too official, too much like they were actually having sex and not just getting each other off. He sunk to his knees again and this time Larry (WHITE you have to think of him as White, he could still end your life) started undoing his own belt, unzipping his pants while Freddy knelt there expectantly, took his dick out, Freddy’s eyes widened, White’s cock was large, thicker than Freddy had ever seen, White chuckled, must have had this reaction before, ran his hand gently through Freddy’s hair as he got started. Freddy wanted to make this good, wanted to impress White, so he took the whole thing deep as he could, choking a bit, a bit of saliva dripping out as he took it out then tried to get it deep in his throat again.
He choked again on white’s dick, letting it fall from his mouth when white tugged his hair, making Freddy look up at him, “hey, hey, hey baby, you don’t gotta take it all. Just take what you can and use your hand for the rest, ok?” Freddy nodded, then started up at a reasonable pace, feeling both embarrassed and grateful that white had corrected his technique. Now it was more fun though, could close his eyes and really get into it, jacking White’s dick while sucking down on the head, making more noise than white did, moaning around his dick, which White seemed to enjoy, “mmmm that’s good baby, you’re good at that” White encouraging him, the hand in his hair a comfort, Freddy shouldn’t trust this guy with a lighter but somehow trusted him not to push Freddys head down on his dick.
White gave another tug on his hair, “gonna cum” he said, but Freddy stayed there, keep his mouth around white’s cock, swallowed, and white pulled him up again. Another breathless kiss, other guys freddy had been with wouldn’t kiss him after he blew them, didnt want traces of their own cum in their mouths, but white didnt give a fuck, kissed freddy deep, probably had been a pickpocket at some point because freddys belt was undone and his jeans unzipped when he felt white palm his dick over his boxers.
white turned him around so freddys back was against his chest, put his head on freddy shoulder, “love the noises you make baby, don’t hold out on me” he said, taking freddy’s dick out of his boxers and jerking it slowly, and freddy obeyed him, whimpers n groans n incoherent words leaving his mouth, any thoughts of keeping cool and in control gone, white knew how to handle a dick as well as he could kiss, pressing kisses onto freddys neck “that’s it orange, that’s it”
“oh man, oh god, fuck larry, larry that feels so good”
White stopped all of a sudden, freddy was so out of it he didnt even realise his mistake til white said “how’d you know my name?”
(shit shit shit, you fucked up bad, this is it, they’re gonna tell new undercovers the story about the guy who died with his dick in the crooks hand)
“i-i knew who you were, i’d heard of you before” he was coming up with an excuse on the spot, didn’t know how he was going to finish his sentence when he started it.
“oh? And what did you hear?” freddy couldnt see white face, the guy was still behind him, but he didnt sound angry
“larry dimmick, two guns dimmick, friend of joe cabot, when i saw you in the bar i thought it might be you, when i saw you had two guns in your belt …” freddy was trying to keep cool, maybe, just maybe, he might get outta this alive
larry chuckled “jeez, I didnt think I was that well known, huh?”
he picked up where he left off, hand started wanking freddy’s cock again, maybe harder this time, pleased that he’d gotten the unexpected ego stroking. his other hand, left hand, slipped under freddys shirt and found his nipple, lightly brushing it, making freddy shiver, couldn’t help rolling his head back with his eyes closed, his arousal coming back full force after the scare.
“you know, i got the name two guns dimmick, but it should be two hands dimmick, dont cha think? Coz the hands control the guns” freddy couldnt reply, could only moan as larry began playing with his nipple, rolling and pinching it gently then circling it with his thumb, doing a different rhythm on freddys cock, “coz as you can see, i’m real good with my hands. Friend asked me to be in his band once about a decade ago, be a drummer, ya gotta have good control over both your hands for that”. Quick as lightning he switched, left hand now on freddy’s dick and right hand attacking freddys other nipple. Freddy was close now, leaning back on white to hold him up, letting his head loll back onto white’s shoulder, white was nipping his earlobe then whispered into his ear “want you to say my name when you come baby, wanna hear it”
And freddy did.

S1 ep13
made it through a whole season of this cw acting but the plot at least is interesting
I just wanna give Michael a hug 🥺 and as I was typing this he gets stabbed in the neck instead 🧍🏻♀️
I can’t believe Maria also went through this whole season without being told about the whole alien situation when it seemed like everyone and their mother’s found out about them
I LOVE FADE INTO YOU BY MAZZY STAR OMG
Ik Alex already has such a complicated relationship w his father and a survivor of abuse but it seems with every passing day he learns more things about his father that make us hate him more
“I have him in my freezer” 😭😭
Isobel, Max, and Michael are responsible for any acetone shortages in Roswell I swear
Liz started the season w a gun shot wound and ends it w a stab wound we love a full circle moment
Lowkey Noah is right about the whole cowboy thing tho and twisting intestines is kinda creative
Liz is an empath
I don’t like how Max is this supposed savior I want it to be Isobel or Michael smh but that might just be bc I don’t like the actor who plays Max/how his character is portrayed
okay but Max is giving Thor in this scene pop off the lightning also lowkey reminds me of Harry Potter
Isobel subtly taking off her wedding ring at the beginning of her monologue
“Take care of her” is he implying Isobel is pregnant??????
Not the jab at the lack of gun restrictions 🧍🏻♀️kyle’s change in character is like a mental breakdown
Not max on this savior kick and adrenaline rush and fixing Michael’s hand????? hello he’s had that scar for 10 years and I feel like it connected him to Alex (and even tho it’s a painful scar) it still meant something to Alex and now that that’s gone, it’s kinda like Alex and Michael will be erased and after Michael’s whole confession that he loves him but it hurts???
Okay I lied “take care of her” meant Rosa in a pod😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Kyle having on Kevlar and sedatives???? my man was prepped and ready omfg he was paranoid and for good reason it seems
Okay but like Rosa can’t just come back after a whole town knew she passed and even vandalized her grave and even for the sake of Liz and Maria and Arturo????? It’s already been a decade like idk what I would want but atp I wouldn’t want the burden of that decision
WHY IS MICHAEL JUST PLAYING THE GUITAR HELP???? 😭😭
The teasing of isobel expanding her powers???? yes pls my fav character but lowkey what she went through could easily be the start of her villain origin story bc it’d be mine frfr
If I saw my sister who was announced dead for a decade walking around the middle of the desert????? I’d be yelling and thinking it was a ghost hello???????
Lose the love of your life or your sister?? Liz can’t catch a break 😭
so much happened 🧍🏻♀️ but I enjoyed it and it’s definitely a break from my every day life so

a list of things about Star Wars: The Last Jedi
TLJ felt like watching two completely separate movies. .. . one i deliriously LOVED and one i spit upon and shake its profane dust off my sandals
THE GOOD
“ive got an urgent message for General Hux” “YOUR REBELLION IS DOOMED” “yeah... im holding for General Hux”
it straight up took me a minute and a half of this scene to figure out this was actually the start of the movie. it felt like one of those pre-movie skits where it seems like a movie but then anthropomorphic M&Ms tell you to turn your cell phone off. was it just me or were there a LOT more comic moments in TLJ compared to almost every other star wars movie? anyway i loved it even tho it gave the movie a slight someone-made-this-while-high-on-LSD feel
Leia USING THE FORCE AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
R2 playing Luke the “you’re my only hope” recording of Leia, i almost died
FORCE SHENANIGANS. we saw more powerful, dramatic, and varied uses of the Force in TLJ than we have ever before seen in a live action media and i was L I V I N G
“you’ve closed yourself off from the Force”
Rey and Kylo’s foRCE BOND TALKING like this.. . . is so interesting .. . and it wasn’t only Snoke doing it because they did it again after he’s dead...
Rey lifting 30 giant fricken boulders without even breaking a sweat after having one (1) single “training” session
Kylo remotely activating Anakins lightsaber
projecting himself........ across the entire galaxy. . ..
Yoda. in the former EU the Force ghosts had a non-negotiable expiration date a certain time after their deaths. Obi-Wan couldnt just come back and visit Luke forever, he faded away at some point. is this no longer true??? DOES THIS MEAN ANYONE CAN COME BACK IF THEY WANT??? why was yoda so physical even as a ghost that he could whack luke on the head
summoning lightning like alright this is a new Jedi power im adding to my arsenal
Leia’s mary poppins action
Luke vaulting across the cliff to stab fish
POE'S CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT he turned from a kamikaze into a leader who's able to see the big picture and walk away, im so proud
everyone..... messing with Hux...... i loved this
Snoke smacking him into the floor
Kylo smacking him into the wall
Kylo force choking him
slowly taking gun out. . . . . HES AWAKE ABORT ABORT... slowly putting gun back . . . Hux is going spend every waking moment wishing he took that shot
Finn's character arc, like what an awesome Slytherin. the contrast between him and the codebreaker 👌👌👌👌 & where he makes the choice REBEL scum 👌👌👌
LET'S GO, CHROME DOME
i cant believe Phasma died again lol. her backstory novel was SO DRAMATIC and she just dies over and over
when Kylo does that little skid out into the hallway to look for Rey
Chewy breaking down Luke's door
when Luke kisses Leia on the forehead . . . .
kylo KILLING SNOKE I AM LITERALLY SO HAPPY. I AM SO HAPPY. IM SO
this had to happen, it was so obvious but i didnt think they would actually do it, Snoke was so boring and useless, i am SO GLAD they didnt drag him out..... I AM SO HAPPY HES DEAD
it was truly awesome... i couldnt stop grinning it seeing it the 2nd time... "I CANNOT BE BETRAYED, I CANNOT BE BEATEN, I CAN SEE HIS MIND" & then he narrates the entire process of Kylo killing him i was LIVING. everyone theorized for so loooooong and so hard about what form Snoke's control over Kylo took and how it would be possible for him to break it,, , , and then he just DOES IT JUST LIKE THAT by SHEER MISDIRECTION FOLKS I AM SO ALIVE
THE TEAM UP FIGHT
i love lightsaber fights so much i would very nearly give up my critical integrity for a single awesome duel and this was,,, so awesome
when Rey drops her lightsaber to catch it again and cut that guys knees out from under him
when Snoke is cut in half and then the lightsaber rockets towards Kylo and Rey's hand SHOOTS INTO THE FRAME to catch it 👌👌👌
when Kylo takes on FOUR OF THEM AT ONCE
"THE SUPREME LEADER IS DEAD" "long live. . . the supreme leader .. "
not gonna lie, i am such a huge fan of supreme leader!Kylo. CAN HE EVEN LEAD ANYONE??? DOES HE HAVE THE CAPABILITY?? HONESTLY WHAT DOES HE WANT TO DO? WHAT WILL HIS SELF-DIRECTED MISSION BE? VADER NEVER GOT TO BE ANYTHING BUT AN ATTACK DOG, WHAT ON EARTH IS GOING TO HAPPEN
I HONESTLY HAVE NO IDEA BUT IM SO HYPE TO FIND OUT
THIS IS BRAND NEW
"finn! rose! you're not dead! where's my droid"
the little slave kids from Canto Bight. did the kid at the end use the Force to pull his broom!??!
"that library did not contain anything the girl Rey does not already possess" Yoda thinks hes so funny. REY STOLE THE LIBRARY LMAO... thanks Rey... im glad someone around here has a brain...
the Falcon swooping in to draw off the TIEs on Crait
"OH, THEY HATE THAT SHIP"
Vice Admiral Holdo's lightspeed kamikaze. . . aside from the drama of the moment & making Hux look stupid, just visually it was awesome
absolutely every single thing said by either Hux or Kylo in Kylo's command shuttle above Crait
"i want every gun we have to fire on that man"
"blow that PIECE OF JUNK oUT OF THE SKY"
when kylo's like "concentrate all fire on the speeders" and then Hux immediately shrieks "CONCENTRATE ALL FIRE ON THE SPEEDERS" and Kylo looks at him like 🤔
"do you think you got him?"
when Luke faces Kylo
WHEN LUKE FACES KYLO
this scene makes the movie for me honestly. as of now im in a state of uneasy ceasefire with TLJ and the sequel trilogy as a whole. if the scene of Luke facing Kylo did not exist, TLJ would probably be dead to me
"did you come to SAVE MY SOUL" "no."
absolutely everything about Luke was so completely epic in this scene. even though he barely said anything, even the way he stood was epic. im not sure how Hamill did this but it was everything i ever wanted
"i failed you, Ben. I'm sorry." "i'm sURE YOU ARE"
the contrast between Kylo's fighting stance and Luke's
when Luke steps out from the massive cloud and duSTS OFF HIS SHOULDER
this fills me with so much pure glee i could literally ascend
"if you strike me down in anger, i'll always be with you. like your father."
the slow, dawning horror when Kylo starts realizing Luke's not actually there
"see you around, kid"
"SEE YOU AROUND, KID"
"SEE YOU AROUND, KID"
my favorite line in the WHOLE THING i could Scream
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
AHHHHHHHHHH AHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHH
"SEE YOU AROUND, KID"
when Rey slams the door in Kylo's face
THE BAD
Luke should have LIFTED HIS X WING OUT OF THE WATER WITH THE FORCE AT SOME POINT GOSH DARN. i knew from the moment we saw the submerged x wing that this moment was meant to happen.... but then it DIDN’T. like PLEASE. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN SO GOOD I NEED TO SEE THIS
the casino subplot. . . it was awesome for Finns character development but couldn’t he have developed character over an actually materially relevant story arc.. . .
BB-8 didn’t fight Dark BB-8 like what the hell honestly
for what earthly reason does Kylo need to wear his pants up to his armpits. is he TRYING to look like a doofus
why wasn't Lando the master codebreaker. like quite frankly, give me one good reason. why. no. there are no good reasons. when is Lando going to come into it you cowards
honestly....... what the FRICK was that horrible backstory behind what caused Kylo to turn
WHAT THE FRICK
im trying to keep my cool but this is a huge, enormous, and vital problem i have with this movie and whoever came up with that should be shot
Luke, in a brief moment of insanity, ignited his lightsaber over his sleeping nephew's bed to assassinate him because of a vision
LUKE SKYWALKER the guy who wouldnt believe that DARTH VADER, ENSLAVER OF WORLDS, SLAUGHTERER OF CHILDREN, MASS MURDERER OF THOUSANDS, was a lost cause and who refused to kill him, TRIED TO KILL HIS APPRENTICE IN HIS SLEEP
like... do you see my problem?
character assassination. it is ludicrously greater-than-Anakin Skywalker levels of overreaction to a Force premonition that Luke would see a vision of darkness and instantly move to slice his sleeping, defenseless nephew in half, and even in Luke's version of the story Luke is legitimatly the bad guy. he brought about the future he was afraid of, just like Anakin
because of this background, every interpretation is blown wide open to reasonably see Kylo as the victim and Luke's actions as those of a villain. of course he had to defend himself? it's legitimately possible to construe the subsequent killing of the other students as self-defense as well. if they wake up to find Ben having "killed" Luke? anything could have happened, Kylo could honestly have done barely anything bad up to this point and have been driven to the dark side on that one night
it's going to take.... so much work.... to walk this back. obviously Kylo's a villain now, because of what he's chosen to do since then, but for Luke to come out of this not looking like trash, they would have to provide SO MUCH more backstory including the "dark" things Kylo had done to make Luke suspect him, and have him probably be actively seeking darkness while under Luke's tutelage. and then Luke still seems like a fool and a betrayor
maybe they WANT Luke to come off as a legitimately bad person? i've seen some interpretations of TLJ as tearing down "legends" by showing everyone as flawed people, teaching the lesson of not deifying people to Rey AND the audience as well. if thats true and they actually want me to believe Luke is not worth believing in, i'm sorry but i reject that
luke skywalker is not a bad person
rey said "you didnt fail Kylo, Kylo failed you" WHICH... its true that Kylo failed in all his actions after this. but if this is the unmitigated truth about what happened that day, Luke definitely failed Kylo, thats not really arguable
i spit this backstory out of my mouth and stomp on it
bye felicia
"the legacy of the jedi is failure and hypocrisy. at the height of their power they allowed darth sidious to come to power and wipe them out" ok true. "it was a jedi master who was responsible for the training and creation of darth vader" YOU TAKE THAT BACK
a related point..... Luke is a coward.
i'm not saying that the only kind of Luke i would accept is HEROIC LEGEND LUKE WHO BURSTS FORTH FROM HIS ISOLATION AND SINGLE HANDEDLY DEVASTATES THE FIRST ORDER. but at the same time, his isolation is NOT in any way comparable to Obi-Wan's. "i came here to die" ok buddy.
dying is all well and good, hiding from your failures, being broken for a while after taking a hit like that
what i am NOT able to forgive is how he abandoned Leia
???? the frick???
"so many losses, i can't take any more" "sure you can" STORY OF LEIA'S LIFE
"im from the resistance, your sister Leia sent me" boy when she says jump you better say "how high?" honestly YOU OWE IT AT LEAST TO YOUR GUILT TO DO THAT FOR HER
HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE? SHE'S ON HER OWN DEALING WITH EVERY PROBLEM IN THE WHOLE GALAXY AND HE'S DOING WHAT? YOU'RE TELLING ME LUKE WOULD HAVE ABANDONED HIS SISTER LIKE THAT??? AND WHEN SHE SPECIFICALLY ASKS FOR HIM HE SAYS "no frick u" ?!?!?
if that's Luke Skywalker then Luke Skywalker is a useless coward
that is not Luke Skywalker
honestly everything Rey said was spot on "Leia sent me here with hope. if she's wrong then she deserves to know why. we all do"
the overall thesis of the sequel trilogy seems to be "there's no point to any of this"
a powerful student turns to the dark side and destroys the Jedi Order. an authoritarian regime destroys the republic and takes over. a small band of resistance fighters rallies against great odds. a Force sensitive from a desert planet teaches herself the Force from old Jedi books after her teacher evaporates into the Force after teaching like 1 lesson. everyone Leia loves dies
guys... i'm tired
it's just exhausting. what is the point? in the sequel trilogy we've seen the republic destroyed, the resistance decimated and harried from place to place until theyre down to 12 people on the millennium falcom. there's only one movie left. they're going to come back from nothing and destroy the first order and then smile at each other in the ashes?
why?>??? what are they going to do? build a republic again? is rey going to build a new jedi order? we've seen how that worked out
there's nothing to believe in here. HOPE is such a strong theme in the sequel trilogy. "as long as there's light we've got a chance" "leia sent me here with hope" "the galaxy has lost its hope, the spark is out." "hope is like the sun, if you only believe in it when you can see it you'll never make it through the night." like good grief. constantly hammering on the need to have hope, but WHY?
what's the point of defeating the imperials, spending your life trying to build something good in the galaxy, trying to build a family, when you're only going to have to do it all again in your old age, when everyone you love is dead?
i cant see any hope if this is the ending for the OT characters, so i powerfully struggle to care about and cheer for Rey, Poe, and Finn. what's the point in anything they're doing? what's the point in the sacrifices they're making? it might turn out just exactly like it did for Luke, Leia, and Han, spending their old age in loneliness, sorrow, and violence
if this is the way history repeats itself, you probably should just make out like the stuttering codebreaker. "dont join"
#grace for ts#the last jedi#lists of things with grace#star wars#here they are the extremely belated bullet points#this is long as heck#AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH#TLJ#tlj spoilers#the last jedi spoilers#i both enjoyed it immensely and left with a bad taste in my mouth hhhhhh

CHANYEOL
Death becomes him, he thinks. It suits him in a way that feels as though it were tailored just for him, follows in his shadows and never really leaves the soil beneath his fingernails because it wears him. It wears him like armor and never has he found it within himself to grieve or mourn this reality. Death belongs to him, is born from him, and allows him to feel free.
Death is his armor but never his suitor, and only now, in the wake of Hero’s wide eyes and vicious tongue, is he starting to feel his control over death slip from his grasp.
Standing on the armory roof, arms crossed and mind reeling, Chanyeol feigns an expression of reticence as he accepts the fact that death is shrouding him, for the first time, without his consent. Staring straight ahead, he wills his attention to be focused on the blanket of stars above his head or the soft glow of the streets below, but all he can see is Hero. For days he has been haunted by her, haunted by her smell and taste in the air, but now he is haunted by everything she comes to represent. Her presence means weakness. Her presence means the certain, complete erasure and shutting down of covens as all wasted souls are burned by her command.
Her presence means cataclysm.
From the moment he saw her, turning in the trunk to greet his eyes with a scowl, deep in the catacombs of his black heart he knew she was an omen. Speaking to her felt like releasing the latch of a bomb. Touching her felt like holding a flood between his hands. Standing next to her felt like being burned alive and reborn within the same moment, like standing next to the sun. All the times he pressed his back into his bed to cower away from the sound of her rushing blood, all the times he gagged himself on a shirt to avoid the taste of her sweat permeating the bunker, the delectable taste was not of vulnerable humanity, it was of war and now he knows why he tried to run from it.
Everything about her is a pull and lure, designed to tempt him to the edge of his existence. Everything about her spells his weakness, because she is persuasion personified, and no man could ever avoid his fate.
But more than existing as his weakness, she is the unavoidable, unequivocal reality of war.
When Jinsoo invited him into his coven, sat him at a table, and handed him a fountain pen sharpened to a fine point, Chanyeol knew that war was slithering beneath their feet like a political undercurrent. When he slid the pen across his wrist, took his blood as ink, and signed his name, he could smell it oozing off the parchment. When the deal soured, he could smell it on the tire tracks. But now, with Hero and the bonfire of her will to survive, he knows that war, battle, and torn limbs are unavoidable. There is no amount of negotiation or threatening to put an end to this, no scale for the amount of blood that will be spilled because it is limitless.
War began on the day of her birth and will only end after all the blood of the losing side has been spilled.
He’s felt it before, the white hot burn of his gun against his back and the twitch in his fingers to pull the trigger, the nerves of his body preparing for the smell of blood before his mind accepts the toll. Usually, he relishes the sensation. Usually, he finds it both satisfying and happenstance, amounting to nothing more than a passing thrill or a necessary par for the course. He’s built a kingdom of slit throats and pulsing veins, necks tilting as if he were their axis, but now with a Reader, he’s less keen to tear flesh and break jaws. Before his eyes, the precipice of eradication had come to rest at his feet and, as he looks out over the city, he begins to see every landscape and every alternative become little more than scorched earth.
This time, the death he senses has every possibility to be his own.
Perhaps most disturbing to him, most upsetting of all, is not so much the knowledge of these things, the sureness of them, it is the paradoxical fact that when he is near her, he feels invincible. To call her a weapon is an understatement, she is nothing short of a nuclear reactor beneath his skin. It takes all of his self-control not to become reckless in her presence because she is there and it is easy to assume she is his.
The reality is that she belongs to no man. She is an island of power unto herself, and yet he is pulled to her shores like a lonely moon. The danger in her, the sheer violence of her mood and will, is the kindling to his flame, and he feels a pull to her unlike any other. This is the true horror of her nature, this is her true power. The ability to pull even the strongest men into her hold, the ability to tempt only with the possibility of victory, sex, and power.
At every turn, she surprises him, defies him, moves in a concentric circle of perpetual disobedience and he finds that he is glad for it, glad that she exercises her will at every turn. This is how he knows he change is already starting, knows that she has already begun to fill her purpose. She chooses to disobey his wishes and he finds that he is lenient. She fights him at every turn and he bends to her will.
At every turn, he will choose to protect her.
His thoughts are disrupted by the sound of the latch being pushed on the emergency exit door, though he doesn’t bother turning to greet the intruder.
‘Sire, we need you to review CCTV footage in the security room,’ Jongdae announces, a hint of urgency laced through the words.
Chanyeol can hear the tension in his voice, can hear the pressing need for action, but does not move. Tonight, he thinks urgency has no place. Tonight, he’d rather take his time for these may be the last expendable moments he has. Moving to hold his hands loosely behind his back, he speaks out and over the city in a calm, pensive tone.
‘Are you ready to die for this coven?’
Even with his back turned, he can sense Jongdae bristling at the question. Caught off guard, he prepares an answer in an even, respectful voice that masks his surprise.
‘You know my oath,’ is his plain reply.
Chanyeol smiles, releasing a soft laugh. It is a good and true answer, a very Jongdae answer, even though it is not the answer he wanted.
‘That was not the question,’ he states, though it comes out gentle and almost placid.
Jongdae approaches his right side, hands digging into the pockets of his trousers. He stands to view the city with the same air of concern and apprehension as Chanyeol and, for a moment, he thinks Jongdae has been reading his mind even though it is not his gift.
‘I was ready to die for the brotherhood the moment I agreed to turn,’ he explains, releasing a heavy sigh. ‘I believed you when you told me this was the only way we could fight.’
Chanyeol regards his second for a moment, studying the way he watches the clouds as though they are his children. As always, the affinity between them resonates, both their souls and spirits sky born and desperate to fly. As always, they watch the stars together with longing.
‘History may be repeating itself,’ Chanyeol announces, airily.
Jongdae merely nods.
‘Then the question of death has come to face us once more, and you should already know my answer.’
Chanyeol nods briefly with him, only to stop and frown. ‘The day is approaching.’
‘You can sense it?’ Eyes still fixed on the sky, Chanyeol can almost hear Jongdae’s brown furrowing. He is trying to wade his way through Chanyeol’s meaning, sort through the words and come up with answers based on what he knows of their life together, though nothing could prepare him for the truth.
There’s no simple way for Chanyeol to tell him, no possible way to ease him into the news. What he says now will hurt Jongdae, hurt him deeply and force old wounds to bleed once more because there are some scars even time cannot heal. There is no easy way for him to say it, so he does the best he can with a kindness he’s not used to handling.
‘What I am going to tell you will influence the way you view the continuation of your life,’ he begins, his voice little more than a tepid pool of caution. ‘Our futures will be defined by this and we will need to hold a council meeting.’
He adds the last sentence in the hopes of keeping Jongdae focused, keep him from reacting in a way that would influence the weather. All he really succeeds is doing is forcing lines of worry to appear along his forehead, causing him to turn and face his sire with a look of unease.
‘It’s been three centuries since we’ve had to do that,’ he says, warily.
Chanyeol nods, not fully inclined to meet Jongdae’s eyes. Not yet. Not when he’s starting to feel like a boy. Not when the words he needs to say feel like a secret that will ruin his childhood friend. Again.
‘I didn’t think we’d have to do it again so soon,’ he concedes with a shaking breath.
He decides then to just say it, to release it into the world without care.
‘Our human captive is a Reader.’
Beside him, light cracks of electricity begin to burst. They don’t touch him or burn him, they merely make the hairs on his arm stand to attention. Glancing to his side he can see green sparks dance between Jongdae’s fingers, jumping from one knuckle to the next, until many tiny sparks combine to form three long embers of lightning. He’s holding them in his hands, looking more like a god or Zeus than any maker or Sire he’s seen, and Chanyeol knows he is holding himself back. The way his arms twitch and fingers shake, the way his jaw clenches and unclenches, and his chest hardly moves as he holds his breath to keep his fangs in check. This is true rage and control, a beast living and dying without a single word being spoken.
And as quickly as it started, Jongdae pulls himself back under control and turns back to face the sky. Distantly, a crack of thunder rolls and echoes with no rain to follow.
‘So the end is near,’ he eventually declares, voice dry.
‘One end is approaching,’ Chanyeol clarifies, turning back to study the moon. ‘It is up to her to decide which it is.’
A long, shuddering breath emerges from Jongdae’s chest, like he’s run for miles to get to Chanyeol. Perhaps, in his mind, that’s exactly what he’s doing. ‘So the change has started, then?’
Grateful for the change in subject, the move away from the fact she is a reader to what it means for Chanyeol, he finds himself relaxing into the topic with a crack of his neck. ‘From the moment I saw her, yes.’
‘Is that why you’ve been...indulgent?’ he asks, smoothly.
Chanyeol scoffs at the word. ‘She doesn’t see it as such.’
‘Of course she wouldn’t,’ Jongdae agrees with a snort, ‘though it was for her protection.’
Chanyeol cocks his eyebrow and turns to face Jongdae. ‘Would you like to reason with her?’ he taunts.
‘No, thank you.’
‘Yes,’ he sighs, turning back to the sky. ‘I imagine it must have been hard for her to feel static electricity on her skin for no reason.’
The memory of Hero’s face as she regarded all the coven generals at the ceremony floats through his mind, her eyes wide and confused as each member bewildered her more than the last. At the time, he thought it was just reckless indignation that made her squirm in discomfort, but now, with the realization that she is a Reader, he almost feels sympathetic towards the onslaught of sensations that must have wracked her body. In particular, he almost wants to apologize for having her look at Baekhyun without any sort of preparation. She must have been blinded.
‘I guess you could say I’m shocking.’
Jongdae’s joke filters through the night air, forced and out of place. It’s uncomfortable in its cadence, strained and almost bashful in its attempt to carry on and evade the reality that he is crumbling. But in its wake, Chanyeol finds himself smiling. For the first time in centuries, Jongdae stands before him as his childhood best friend and as a human.
‘Goodness, Jongdae, a pun?’ he mutters in teasing surprise. ‘Keeping Junmyeon at your side too long?’
‘Perhaps, though it could be the idea of death approaching making me feel light hearted.’ The clenching in Jongdae’s throat and the tightness in his voice gives him away, and Chanyeol is too happy to gloss over it in the pretense of keeping the conversation light.
‘Jongdae, we are the same age. You make it sound as though we are as old as the sun.’
‘It feels that way, from time to time.’
‘Jesus, you have been spending too much time with Junmyeon,’ Chanyeol laughs in disbelief. ‘Spend three days with Sehun, old man. Learn to smile again.’
With a disgruntled sort of chuckle, Jongdae turns to Chanyeol and fixes his face into one of professional impassiveness. ‘As wondrous as this conversation is, we do need you downstairs.’
‘Spoil sport,’ he concedes, straightening his back and preparing to let time move again.
‘Trust me you will want to see it.’
In unison, they turn from the roof and head towards the door. He allows Jongdae to lead the way, turning back once more as he passes to regard the night sky. Catching up with the present makes him feel like he’s moving away from the man he was and sometimes thinks he’d like to be again. Catching up with the present makes his chest burn and his fingers instinctively twitch for a trigger, and it always takes him a moment to get used to the sensation of being at odds with himself.
‘Jongin is on security?’ he asks, building his voice back to its normal cadence of authority.
‘Yes, until sunrise.’
They move through the hallway in silence, the footsteps of their leather boots echoing off the walls in soft, rhythmic patterns. It is rare that CCTV footage needs to be reviewed. Chanyeol thinks he can count the number of times they’ve had to watch a tape back on one hand, most intrusions clearly a halfling or an animal scurrying through the night. Whatever Jongin found must surely have alarmed the young vampire.
‘What’s happened?’ Chanyeol asks as soon as he steps through the door of the security room. He comes to stand behind Jongin, eyes immediately raising the the twelve screens connected to the wall in a square. Each screen shows a different angle of the coven perimeter, all in crisp black and white night vision.
Jongin types a series of codes into the DOS log box on camera 9, and the screen flashes twice before reverting back. The scenery looks the same, unchanged and uninteresting, with the only clue of a change being the time stamp dictating the screen is in the past.
‘This footage is from 02:00 hours, around the left perimeter bank,’ Jongin explains hurriedly. ‘I watched it back three times before alerting Jongdae.’
Chanyeol frowns, glancing from the screen to Jongin and back again. ‘A perimeter breach? Why didn’t the alarm sound?’
‘Well,’ Jongin begins, but hesitates. ‘Just look. You’ll see why.’
He taps the keyboard and the screen begins to play. For a moment there is nothing, no movement on the screen to raise any sort of alarm. But then, from the bottom right corner, a long line of static moves across the screen to the left perimeter wall. Blurred as though the tape itself were warped and torn, it doesn’t hesitate when it approaches the wall and merely moves through it at as though it wasn’t there at all.
Children are told stories from a young age that vampires have no reflections or are unable to be viewed through photographs and videos, their lack of a soul dictating there is nothing to be given back within the frame. While some myths of their kind are true, many are not, and no vampire is immune to the video capture of a military grade camera. And so it is clear this diversion was done on purpose, the necessity of movement under stealth planned and willingly enacted in a blatant move of disobedience and betrayal.
‘Well that’s one way to get out,’ Chanyeol mutters under his breath. ‘Wall phasing?’
‘It moves in the direction of Jinsoo’s coven,’ Jongin explains, pointing to the screen with his pen. ‘Look at the trajectory. It comes from the training hangar and out to the left flank. A figure waits along the banks, though I can’t make out who it is. It appears they were waiting for this arrival.’
He pauses the footage and zooms in on a dark, hooded figure lingering half inside the frame just beyond the barrier. It’s clothed, so not a halfling, though the image is not clear enough to discern who or what it could be.
‘Keep an eye on this side of a perimeter for a halfling,’ Chanyeol demands. ‘This could be who is making them. Possibly a team, of sorts.’
‘We have a mole,’ Jongdae announces, voicing Chanyeol’s concerns. ‘Who knows how long he’s been inside.’
Since the arrival of the Reader, Chanyeol had been moving and placing his chess pieces in preparation of defense. Every action he had taken had been in the guise of proving the deal had been tarnished before it had been signed, though he had no true discernible proof beyond gut instinct. But now, he supposes, the proof he has found is much worse than all his fantasies.
Until Sehun’s initiation, the last time a new member had been brought to the coven was over seventy years ago. While he was unable to place a name to the mole, their visage hidden away and kept secret by the nature of their power, it was certain they had been planted years before the deal had even been concocted. There was no telling how much information had been filtered over to Jinsoo throughout the past century, at least.
And it makes sense now, he thinks, for a Reader to fall so inelegantly into his lap. The winds of change and war have been blowing so long, he’s almost surprised she didn’t arrive sooner.
‘Do we notify the brotherhood?’ Jongin asks, though his tone does little to mask his anxiety.
Young, though having lived through and survived two coven wars, Jongin always approaches battle with the cautious eyes of a boy. Chanyeol appreciates it, finds that, after so long of willingly tears jaws apart, the softness in Jongin’s voice grounds him and forces him to consider loss of life before loss of bullets.
‘We cannot alert the coven of the betrayal, not until we know who it is,’ Chanyeol says, curtly. ‘For now, we act normally and lay low to prevent suspicion. We need to remain a unified front.’
‘Sire, there’s still the chance of an attack from within,’ Jongdae says with a scowl, eyes trained back on the screen.
For a moment, Chanyeol considers this. He runs through all his options and finds that he is glad Sehun was initiated before this discovery. He’s glad Sehun spent so long toiling in the armory.
‘We notify our suppliers. Start with blood and weapons,’ he orders. ‘This will be Sehun’s first operation. Tell him to prepare.’
‘We should change the locks on each supply door. Only you and I keep the keys,’ Jongdae claims, rolling immediately along with the thoughts in Chanyeol’s head.
‘Yes, but we should give keys to Minseok,’ he affirms. ‘Junmyeon remains at your side often enough, and Minseok leads our security banks. We can’t leave him unprepared.’
At this, Jongdae nods and leaves the room, heading in the direction of Minseok’s bunker.
Chanyeol turns his eyes back to the screen before him and studies the shape of the blur, studies the dark figure at the side of the frame, and begins to imagine every action he decides to take as a domino.
‘There will be a council meeting before dawn,’ he murmurs to Jongin. ‘Please prepare.’
He doesn’t have to look at Jongin to know that a myriad of thoughts and emotions are passing over his face.
‘Sire, it’s been -’
‘Yes, I know,’ he says cooly, cutting the him off. ‘I regret that it has to be so soon for another.’
Council meetings are never to be taken lightly, only taking place when Chanyeol feels he needs the voices of all his generals to guide him through turmoil.
Council meetings are always the start of war, the first round table of action to reaction; conversations preceding the loss of blood.
The last time a council meeting occurred with a Reader in existence, at least in Chanyeol’s lifetime, was the week before he died.
History, he thinks, seems to be repeating itself.

Voltron Cast vs. Personality types
Feel free to add & correct
Lance
Very Clearly ESxx. He’s practically “Extrovert problems” incarnate, poor boi, just wants to be liked & accepted.
I’d say he has some Fe there but the degree of inappropriate jokes vs value judgements/policing suggests tertiary rather than dominant. ESTP then.
Pretty much that common Fi PolR/ Fe tert problem of not realizing your own inclinations & opinions of yourself “count” & therefore looking for external validation a lot. Adding to that is his crazy aim & knack for planning sneaky strategies on the fly, also he once mentioned he has a hard time sleeping if he gets all pumped off, having so much energy it needs to be burned off is a common Se dom issue, as is his concern with looks, status & “finer pleasures” & his competitive streak.
He’s an inert subtype, and enneagram wise he’s such an obvious 3w2 someone who never saw the show could tell just from me reblogging posts about him. He keeps making up roles for himself to play (”cool ninja sharpshooter”) & hoping they catch on with the others, though there’s also an angle of wanting to contribute & be needed.
imma venture soc/sx but im not adamant on this. Sanguine classic.
Also very obvious oldham Inventive with sprinklings of Devoted and Dramatic. He’s also a dead-ringer Mercury-Venus. Also probably Thunderbird.
Gryffindor or Hufflepuff tho? There would probaby be hatstall, but ultimately I feel he would be a “grow into it” Gryffindor.
The Red Lion only takes them Gryffindors BTW. Come on. Bravery? honor? No self-preservation? Likewise, the green Lion only takes Ravenclaws and the Yellow one only takes hufflepuffs. The recipe is probably more complicated with the other two tho.
Hunk
The most obvious ISFJ to ever SiFe.
He’s cautious & prefers the familiar, a good judge of character & may need to see things with their own eyes to grasp their full scope, but also has a big heart cares a lot. Hasthat “inferior Ne panic reaction” too.
You kinda also see the “dexterous/practical” side of Si with his being a mechanic. The makers have described the contrast between him and pidge as the “figure it out & think it up” side of engineering vs the “buid it & make it work” side of it which is basically N vs. S in a nutshell.
Inert Subtype. Pudwudkie Hufflepuff. Nuff said. A 9w1, probably, though with a notable 6w5 fix. sp/soc. Phlegmatic. Venus. Clearly has some Sensitive style in him but he’s not all that shy & fluttery so there’s probably some stabilizing influence there. Not wholly sure if it’s some Leisurely or something else
Allura
Preddy much ESTJ. Brave, dutiful, action-oriented, bossy, fortright, yells a lot, can be rigid sometimes, we know the drill.
Contact subtype. Mars-Jupiter af. srly that’s just a holistic sumup of her character. Choleric. (ChlorSan prolly) 2w1 soc/sp? I do think soc is right & she does have that “politcian-y” quality.
She’s ever the altrustic helper ready to put her life in danger, insists they answer every distress call, and has this ‘diplomatic important organization leader’ thing going on that social 2s do.The w1 also manifests as back & white or oversimple thinking at times.
Oldham wise it’s hard, something of a pronounced mixed/intereference pattern with both Self-Sacrifcing and Aggressive in the mix.
Wampus. I see why someone might say Slytherin but I’m sticking with Gryffindor for now.
Pidge
This one is kinda easy.
INTP 5w6. Ravenclaw. Horned Serpent. Lunar. sp/soc. IDK bout vertical subtype but she rambles/blurts more than she snarks/criticises so I’m saying contact.
Less sure ‘bout oldham though there’s probably some Vigilant, though not, like, sharp excess.
Imma run with melancholic b/c she’s definitely not pure Phlegmatic or Supine. MelPhleg perhaps.
Shiro
Apparently there has been a case of “the fan-favorite is always INFJ” (TF?) but I think most of us will agree that he has Te - he’s goot at handing out tasks, managing people, coming up with courses of action...
He rocks that tert Fi too in that he’s a good listener & tries to further the other’s personal developement.
We often think of natural leaders as extroverts but ISTJ is prolly the introvert most likely to become head-of-state. He just fits the overall patterns of ISTJ: Dilligent, put-together (when he can help it), great integrity, perceptive with details & able to use comparision with past experiences to kick butt in the present (Like when he timed the Sentry Drones’ rounds), though he does’t have the elbowy agression/striving of other TJ-types, and he’s a morning person too.
He’s probably a contact subtype. Temperament wise he’d be one of those few where I’d be tempted to call ‘balanced/Leukine’, but if I didn’t I’d say ChlorPhleg comes the closest. 1w9 af, prolly sp/soc with a degree of both personalperfectionism & mentoring others present, and also feeling overly responsible for everything.
Oldham wise an obvious conscientious type.
While he’d sure have some gryffindor potential, his firm belief in teamwork & humility would probaby land him in Hufflepuff.- Think Cedric Diggory who was also a sort of prodigy. Though he is probably also very much a Wampus.
Also, he’s a classic, archetypical pure Saturn type. Actually, I believe at least partially saturnyne personalities are the Black Lion’s thing. Still not sure how Blue’s could be quantified, apart from possibly favoring extroverts, but that’s probably by design.
Keith
Mai Spicy Boi! .
I’m just gonna flat out say that he cannot be anything other than a contact subtype Se auxillary. Just look at all that Se! That’s about as much of the stuff as you can possibly cram into an introvert.
He’s got sharp senses & reflexes, often reacts to opportunities, observations and impressions in the moment (and very often it’s a deliberate risk that works out - he’s not just “hotheaded” or “not thinking”, but he’s thinking about things to do or investigate, not so much what happens next. ) & improvised, didn’t really have longterm plans after flunking out, He also very much has the ‘decisive’ and agressive side of Se though I wouldn’t call him dominant.
And I’m saying ISTP over ISFP b/c the Se itself seems a sufficient explanation for his reactive nature, and then there’s general lack of people skills, solitary mode of operation & difficulty with group work (not a shred of Te not even inferior)
Also, when he’s actually thinking rather than just waltzing in guns blazing, he very much has task-oriented, detached impersonal reasoning “But can we afford to save the princess? It’s not about the glory. The cause is bigger than any of us.” He’s also very much the cynic of the group or the one most inclined to see things in shades of grey rather than black & whites.
I doublechecked this to make sure I’m not just assuming him to be a Ti dom b/c he’s my fav character, but ‘ISTP’ really seem to summarize his character & much of the metas written about him very well.
Soo... is he a cp 6? a sp4? An 8? Probably all of those, they don’t call that the “tripple reactive” tritype for nothing but coretype wise I’d put him very much in the action triad as a 8w7, that’s not even all that uncommon for ISTPs. He’s also very distinctly soc blind,(which may explain why he doesn’t really manifest the dominant part of the 8, but he’s very much got the every-man-for-himself, rely-on-no-one rebel part of it, as well as the characteristic problem with backing down/shelving arguments though the other fixes, again, don’t help. ) not sure if sx/sp or sp/sx, on the one hand he’s...tempestuous, on the other he spent a year as a desert hermit and found itpleasantly calm, at least in part, so if pressed I’d go with sp/sx, also because of his tedency to hold himself apart from the group somewhat without much indication that it’s a conscious choice.
Oldham wise he’s got some adventurous & some vigilant but also some sort of more emotionally juicy counterpoint to that without which he’d have a lot more hostile unconcern. He’s not clingy enough for Mercurial tho so I’m vaguely at a loss.
He’s got some more maturity to acquire there but I do think there’s very much a Saturn-Mars underneath it all. Certainly NOT as thought-through as a pure saturn and with no shortage on the action but he does have momentzs of somberness and nuanced understanding. Very much fits both the archetype of the ‘rugged doer’ and the ‘powerful, cause-oriented person’. though he still has some work to do on the ‘inspiring others’ part.
Gryffindor, no 2 ways about it. (Some have suggested Slytherin because he’s the “edgy” one but honestly I don’t see that at all. He has zero interest in personal glory or the ‘in-group’ & doesn’t seem to think of himself as special though he would very much have the grounds to do so.)
The real question is: Wampus or Thunderbird tho?
Coran
Clearly has both Ne (wackyness and quirkyness) and Si (storytime! “Proper” Traditionalist), and too much for either to be the inferior.
Since he doesn’t seem like a Ne auxillary, that leaves us with ESFJ by principle of exclusion, like he kinda has the chattynes & is always helping with everything & taking all the duties. Probably a contact subtype.
Hufflepuff for similar reasons. IDK bout Ilvermony but he does have an adventurous side that did shenanigans with the previous paladins, so probably Thunderbird.
Out of the enneagram types that commonly occur in ExSJ, 9 seems the likeliest, he’s nor dramatic enough for a core type in the emotional triad. I’d say he also has a 7w6 fix somewhere. Also he’s probably soc-first... and in hindsight actualy acts alot like a textbook social 9, working a lot to support the community while not taking the spotlight himself.
Oldham wise I’d postulate a Dramatic-Devoted mix.
Essence type made me think for a bit i had several inconclusive kneejerk reactions but imma stick with Jupiter for now.
Zarkon
Well, another ESTJ, prolly an inert subtype tho.
Pretty much your standard evil overlord/ Te dom villain, though he’s more an enforcer than someone who does a lot of lecturing like when he does it’s usually to-the-point, plus he was sorta repressed in his youth & seemingly a strict traditionalist.
Also a very obvious Aggressive type (complete with the comon constellation where the spouse can deal with & accept that that but the kid’s can’t & regular teenage rebellion ends in dramatic estrangement), like, he would not be questioned even by his best friend even long before he went nuts enough to randomly murder ppl for talking back to him.
You could deem him an 8w9 and a Saturn for similar reasons though he evidently incorporates the more negative aspects of that... though he did have a “protective-responsible” side before things got too sour.
Ovsly Slytherin (& wampus), methinks the whole imperial family would be one those dynastic Slytherin families for all their differences.
Haggar
I found her hard to get a read on for the first two seasons, but with the backstory reveal I think I can conclude INTx, see the whole lightning speech & the whole “Think of the Potential!” attitude, also her being a misanthropic cat lady & sassing Alfor to his face (”customary gesture”) way before things went all sour.
I am less sure here, but out of the two options INTP is more likely because I think I see more indications for SiFe than for FiSe. Her present day self is markedly more cautious than she was in her younger days. She minimally toys with her victims for effect (Poor Shiro) and has this pretty honest devotion & concern for Zarkon, though she seems content subordinating herself to him, though she has this dourish Si-Ti bubble-popping, “Yeah sure but be cautious” attitude especially in interaction with Lotor & Zarkon.
Beyond that, i’d say that she is a very clearly an inert subtype, a Serious-primary and probably some fashion of 5w6 (by principle of exclusion). Slytherin & Horned Serpent. What else would a mad science shadow empress space witch possbly be? Might be Lunar but don’t really have a good read there
Lotor
Some kind of NF, ENFJ if I had to guess. Not his father indeed, though still quite ExxJ. He has the charme, he has a planning, analytic quality underneath, but while he had ambition the more fundamental motivation seems to be to enarn recognition to prove himself.
sx/soc 7, glorious, extra with lots of plumage, certainly very self-interested when it comes down but you could totally picture him just chilling with his henchladies & preferring a ‘personal’ environment/inner circle though he can totally work crowds like clay.
Self-Confident with a tinge of Exuberant perhaps.
Slytherin Thunderbird.
Perhaps what an antagonistic Solar Type looks like. He’s got charme, he’s got loftiness and big goals he works hard to accomplish and little hesitation to put his own person out on the field but he’s sorta the very opposite of naive, very much a planner and going all road runner on poor Keith. Come to think of it,one could make a good case for him as a Solar-Saturn.
As for the Generals/henchladies we’ve only seen bits & pieces of them so far all we can really tell is that Narti and Acxa are introverts while Zethrid and Ezor are extroverts, but Imma risk a guess based on rough vibes/ intuition:
Ezor: ESFP Narti: ISTP Acxa: ISTJ Zethrid: ESTJ

Hannah Watches LOSH - Lightning Storm
Lightning Storm
The opening to this episode is the Legion on a mission to rescue several ships from a Space Squid. It is… not going well.
Everyone except Bouncy – who is on the cruiser – gets caught by the squid. Although we do get more Triplicate Girl, and our first mission-appearance of Colossal Boy.
Oh, about that Superman… someone just joined the party, so they probably did watch for a bit.
Their leader tells Wave to distract it and Esper to ready a mind blast. As soon as Esper does her part, the others go in, making the squid let the ships and other captives go.
When Superman tries to help, he nearly gets hit by one of the weapons used by one of the other team.
But when Lightning Lad manages to help, he’s thanked.
Esper delivers another psychic attack, and when the Legion goes to attack, this happens.
That is disgusting. RIP Space Squid.
Aww, Sparky doesn’t want his nerd teammate to embarrass him in front of the cool kids.
Still Superman goes over to thank them.
The leader says that they can clean up the mess. To which Superman goes “Oh! Right!” Gosh what a boy scout.
Later, we see that Colossal Boy has departed the rest of the team, and Superman thanks him for helping earlier. Although Lightning Lad comments they looked like dumb kids during the mission. What a sour puss.
However Bouncy questions who the others were.
However, Lightning Lad’s thoughts clearly contrast Triplicate Girls’ thoughts.
I love how the girls are all gathered together. It’s like they started a poly-relationship.
Actually, can the whole legion be poly-romantic? That takes a lot of trouble out of shipping.
Of course, Lightning Lad goes straight into Tsudere denial mode.
When Saturn Girl says they’ll see soon on Lightning Lad’s fan-crush on the other group, he angrily asks if she’s now clairvoyant. She answers she just has good eyes, as she noticed their ship at the Dinner the Legion was just heading to.
My observant queen.
How are Jupiter burgers different from other burgers? TELL MEEEE
While the rest of the group is enjoying the meal, Lightning Lad is is clearly pining to talk to the other team. Saturn Girl tells him in a slightly annoyed tone to just go over an talk.
Superman is adorable when eating his burger. Look at how happy he is. He deserves to be happy.
Now the beginning of this next scene is actually capable of giving me second hand embarrassment. I dunno why, it just does. Maybe the expectation Lighting Lad is about to goof this up somehow?
While it seems like at first the other group has no interest in him at all, the leader does talk to him just as he’s getting ready to go, telling him he did a good job earlier. He then introduces himself as Tyr, and the others besides Wave and Esper are Hunter and RonKar, and says they are the Light Speed Vanguard.
WHAT A DORK
He’s so star-struck he has to be reminded to introduce himself.
And then Hunter comments he seems a little old for the other Legionnaires.
Bouncy I love u.
But a moment for Lighting Lad’s face at this.
OMG WHAT A LOSER
Regardless, the LSV give him their card.
What a happy fanboy.
But then returning to HQ, we see that the place is filled with people who don’t seem to be regulars at the place. Making Lighting Lad ask Brainy on what’s going on.
Who answers that a recent memo said Bouncing Boy is holding seminars for people who will be auditioning soon.
Aww my nerd son attempted a joke. Too bad it wasn’t received very well.
But turns out Lightning Lad has his own fanboy! Peter aka Porcupine Pete!
He attempts to demonstrate his powers, but it doesn’t go smoothly.
Da booty tho.
Peter apologizes, but Lighting Lad still walks off.
Rude, you go back and spend time with your fanboy.
Afterwards, Lightning Lad is seen alone and the card given to hip appears to be able to make a portal. Which he walks into with no questions.
Wow what if that turned out to be a death trap?
But the design of the place he walks into is pretty cool to look at.
But I think there’s something even better to look at.
THAT’S RIGHT
HE’S BACK
OUR TRASH LORD
OKAY THE FACT THAT HE’S THERE IS PLENTY OF REASON TO SUSPECT SOMETHING IS WRONG.
Nice call back to Champions, and a nice reminder Lighting Lad does not have many positive feelings towards Mekt right now.
Honey, it was a bit more than just a mistake.
When he claims to have moved on to better things, Lighting Lad’s brain clicks and he asks if he’s really with the LSV. Again, another bad sign.
Lightning Lad, he has been constantly on a more positive side of a relationship than you. This really isn’t that surprising.
But aww, sweet older brother. Saying he’s perfect
When Lighting Lad says he’s already in the Legion, Mekt says the Legion is for kids.
Back on the trash baby list.
However, Tyr tells Lightning Lad to hang for a while before making any decisions. And then Lightning Lad calls up the Legion.
Bouncy seems horrified Lightning Lad might be leaving, especially since he helped start the Legion.
That’s one reason?
When Lightning Lad hangs up, Saturn Girl tells the others that she has a bad feeling about the LSV, admitting that she tried to read their minds. However she held back on telling the others earlier because of feeling guilty, since she tries to reads minds only when she is given permission (or if the situation is very serious). But she couldn’t get through because Esper was shielding them.
PUPPY WANTS TO STAKE OUT.
Also, when I first saw this episode, I thought he said “steak out”, which made no sense to me but I found kinda funny since he’s part-carnivor.
Switching back to the LSV, Mekt is talking to Lightning Lad, saying it’s just like old times, which Lightning Lad agrees to.
And then Esper goes ahead and reads Lightning Lad’s mind. Major red flag.
OH **** YOU AGAIN
TINY CHILDREN
... and backgrounds with details but are too dark...
AAAAAAAH
When Esper finishes, Tyr tells her to give LL privacy. When he realizes she was just reading his mind, Sparky is not happy.
Outside the LSV’s ship, Timber Wolf and Superman are staking them out, with the cruiser cloaked. No sign of takeout though. Probably haven’t been waiting that long.
However, I guess either checkers is either a lost game in the 31st century, or Timber Wolf has never really played any games. Given he questions Superman on what checkers is when waiting.
And then questions what Kansas is. Which is a bit more on an alarming side.
However, they don’t have to kill time as LSV gets a move on, heading to a transport that’s being attacked by Sand Raiders.
And the LSV seem to have a good handle on the situation.
Dat eyeliner.
However, the raiders start to pull out… to get the big guns out.
Tyr suggests Lighting Lad to take care of it by himself, and he goes off to do so. Oh trash baby.
He gets knocked down, but then Superman and Timber Wolf intervene. Lightning Lad is not happy about it.
What a loser.
Big brother behavior~
And we get some glorious interaction between Superman and Mekt
Mm, the Superman we had in the first episode would be a little more inclined to believing people can change.
When the LSV start walking off, Lightning Lad asks what Superman and TimberWolf are doing in the same place. Although Superman is 100% honest, Lighting Lad still tells them to leave. Prick.
Superman then leaves, commenting that Mekt was right on people changing.
Oof. Not a good thing to get salt from Superman.
However, before the LSV leaves, they bill the guys they just saved. Who are taking decontamination stuff to a colony, and it sounds urgent.
This puts the LSV in a new light for Lightning Lad.
Especially when Tyr tells him “Whoever said we were heroes? This is business.”
Oof. Not what the trash baby needs.
When Lightning Lad tries to get the LSV to go help out at several places, Mekt turns him down, saying there’s no credit.
But all I could focus on is Dem Legs.
UNF
Also, bonus points for having him examine his nails. He might be considering gloves like his brother now.
However the brothers are interrupted by Tyr, saying the captain of the transport is refusing to pay. And says it’s time to collect.
Finally returning to the Legion HQ, Bouncy is talking to the try-outies, getting them ready. I love him.
However, when demonstrating with one of the applicants, Breath Boy – who can hold his breath for an extended period of time – Superman calls him because they got a distress call.
Upon arriving to the transport with the decontamination units, the Legion sees the LSV ship.
But Saturn Girl quickly finds out what’s going on.
Inside, the LSV are taking the decontamination units. Wow. What pricks.
But dem legs tho. And the way he’s sitting is proof of Mekt being a cat.
Tyr tells Lightning Lad to take care of the captain, but Sparky’s conscious wins out.
Mekt tries to get Lightning Lad to calm down, but Lightning Lad is having none of it.
Triplicate Girl outside comments she can’t believe Lightning Lad got mixed up with hijackers, just when Lightning Lad is knocked out of the transport.
Superman goes out to catch him, holding him bridal style.
Good thing Brainy wasn’t there.
Wow he can admit that.
So, judging from what Lightning Lad said, there was still some hope holding out that his brother CAN do something good, and a long time ago, did look up to him. Oof. This hurts me.
AND WE GET A CONFIRMATION ON WHERE THE POWERS CAME FROM
While the brothers have a go at each other, Hunter throws flares at Superman and Saturn Girl, who are both saved by our beloved Puppy, who then lunges at Hunter. While Superman takes Tyr on and Saturn Girl fights Esper, after being attacked by a mind blast.
Back with the brothers.
I don’t think that face implies anything good.
At what point are we talking about? Recently? Past? AAAAA
Like the touch of Bouncy watching the fight before switching channels and seeing the LSV ship coming head on.
While Wave and Ron Karr fire a few shots at the cruiser, turns out Bouncy has a lot of tricks up his sleeves.
Aww, poor white TG
Meanwhile, SG tries helping TW but gets ambushed by Esper. However, she manages to catch esper off guard and knocks her out.
Timber Wolf starts to get cornered by Hunter, but Saturn Girl manages to turn the table with making Hunter see Glorgs, which I assume are the equivalent of Furbies.
What a pure friendship.
Superman and Tyr seem pretty even in strength, and when both are starting to wear down. However, when Tyr takes out a gun-like weapon (it does not look 100% like a gun, so im refraining from calling it that) Superman uses his heat vision to blow it up, causing a smoke screen and then proceeds to beat him.
With the Ships’ fight, the Legion manages to sneak up on the LSV.
But back to the brothers.
Oof. They were really going for it.
But a moment to appreciate one of the frames of Mekt.
Edited to show the best part better.
ASS
Okay, how heavy was that metal thing?
As soon as Mekt is gone, Superman comes to help Lightning Lad get the metal thing off, saying they have a delivery to make.
Take this out of context and it looks like two boyfriends getting back together.
After seeing the rest of the LSV tied up, we go to the ship, where Triplicate Girl is gushing about Bouncy during the fight, to which Superman says they make a good team.
Giving us the first hint at BB/TG
Awwwww~
However, Lightning Lad isn’t doing to well and Saturn Girl goes to talk to him, giving us a good moment between them.
After that incredibly touching moment, we see there’s still one applicant in the HQ, even after closing hours. Then we exit out the episode.
So final thoughts on the episode overall and the character
Well, obviously I love it because of my Trash Lord. But don’t worry, I’ll gush on him towards the end of this section.
This episode does have its plus and minuses, both of which I will discuss.
In terms of world building, we now know some places are still being colonized in Space, given the guy who is delivering the decontamination units mentions colonies. Honestly, knowing there are still places left unexplored is pretty cool for me as it invites multiple possibilities with different places and beings.
We get far more character development than last episode. In terms of discussing the characters, I’m saving the brothers for last because it’s that good.
Superman is once again not the central character of this episode. But we see that he does have doubts about some people doing good.
Let’s go over a list of people he trusted in the show.
Dr. Londo. Who turned out to be abusive and manipulative.
Alexis. Who tried to kill his friends.
Zyx. Who proved to be very dangerous.
But when Mekt says he’s with the LSV, he is immediately suspicious. Now there is the fact Saturn Girl said that they were up to something, but given everything that has happened, this is a big sign of change in his trust in others. And that he needs a vacation.
And he makes a jab at Lighting Lad as well when it seems Lightning Lad has switched sides. But, he easily goes out to save him when he gets blasted. Showing he still trust Lighting Lad to do what’s right.
We finally get more development with Saturn Girl in this episode. We see once again she’s incredibly observant of people, and doesn’t need to read minds to figure out what people feel or think a fair amount of the time, but does teases Lightning Lad when he’s being tsundere as hell. We also see she knows there are lines not to cross regarding privacy of others’ thoughts. But she can still cave to the temptation of reading others minds without permission, and she held back information because she felt bad about doing it. Yes, give her flaws. Make her more realistic.
But we also see more of the comforting side of her again that she had shown Superman and Timberwolf, but this time to Lightning Lad. Nice to see.
Bouncing Boy is an absolute JOY. He’s so nice to the hopeful applicants for the auditions, even though everyone else seems to have doubts about most of them.
While at the diner, we see a love of food , and I I can relate. Immediately. I am on the heavy side, and was much heavier when younger. And he’s not constantly eating, unlike some other portrayals of fat people I have seen. Heck, we’ve only seen him eat three times before. The fair, at Clark’s home, and the popcorn while watching a movie. He does get food in Q12, but he doesn’t eat that because eyeballs. He is more than just his love of food.
A fat person being portrayed positively is something I enjoy to see. Hence one reason why I love Steven Universe, which has several fat/heavy characters. Plus seeing him goof around is fun to watch as well
And we see he’s very good at maneuvering the ship, most of it being improvisation.
Which makes something in episode 2 make more sense. Him taking offense on B5 insisting on him to use a system to help fly it. He is very good at piloting, so with Brainy trying to make him use a console, it does seem like an insult to his skills.
Timber Wolf returns, but unlike Phantoms, he seems to be coping much better with being with the Legion. The people in this episode he seems to automatically trust are Saturn Girl – unquestionable because she was the one who helped him first, and Superman. And we see that his relationship with Saturn Girl has developed from the second episode, but not in a romantic sense, which is rare to see, outside brother and sister relationships. It’s platonic. Which is so good.
But then there’s the “What’s Checkers?” moment and “What’s Kansas?”. Now this seemed funny to me as a kid, but now, it’s worrisome as hell. We still don’t know if Timber Wolf spent his entire childhood with his father. If he did, then those two questions imply a lack of education on certain things. Things that can be considered trivial in the 31st century. Which further implies his father isolating him from the outside world.
But it is possible that Kansas and Checkers are things that are just not common knowledge to most people in the 31st century. We’ll get more insight into Timber Wolf’s past next episode and in the second season, but still, things to worry about.
And we FINALLY get development with Triplicate Girl. Which the lack of in the last episode she was in was a major let down. And the three parts of her aren’t all the same, the vary in their behaviors, as evident when White throws up from motion sickness. And the fact they don’t go back into one being after the fight means she’s comfortable being split up.
She’s like a reverse Garnet.
She is the all-together version of the three duplicates of her, but the whole version is the original version. While Garnet is the sum of two people, Sapphire and Ruby who were their own persons before fusing. But Triplicate Girl is comfortable with splitting her three personas up, and equally as comfortable with becoming one again. Garnet always wants to be fused. Ruby and Sapphire love each other so much. And both choices are perfectly fine. As long as they are comfortable about it and do so in a healthy manner, anyway.
They immediately saw the LSV as stuck-ups, which is not too far from their true nature. And their expressions the three of her when Saturn Girl began teasing Lightning Lad? They were ready to join in on the teasing. Plus we see her as the copilot(s) of the Legion Cruiser, and going on how amazing Bouncing Boy was with his maneuvers. Perhaps Bouncy can teach her a few things?
Wished that we could have seen more varying behavior between the three personas, but thankfully, the comic the show got did.
We saw Brainy, but he didn’t do much this episode, and we don’t even see him that long. Now in the original airing order of this episodes, this wouldn’t stand out. But knowing what happens in the next episode in the production order, it gives us a different picture. Which we will discuss in the next episode review to avoid spoiling.
But we see that now he’s attempting to make jokes, although he’s not that great at it. Just keep practicing, baby.
We also get our first non-regular legionnaire appearance on a mission. I really wished we had more like this. I love having many characters that vary. The guest character we got was Colossal Boy. Like Brainy, nothing much to say on him. Sadly.
But then we have Porcupine Pete, aka Peter. He has an appearance shorter than both of the two characters I just mentioned, but the writers managed to give him personality in that short amount of time. We see he looks up to Lightning Lad and is a huge fanboy, possibly rivaling Brainy’s own crush. And he can confront the object of his affections. But Pete messes up on his attempt to impress him. Real bad. And you can’t help but feel sorry for him.
Lightning Lad doesn’t deserve him.
And for our villains. The LSV makes far more interesting villains than the F5. The LSV manages to have more than one girl on the team, but we don’t see much interaction between them, unlike the Legion.
The least developed of the LSV is sadly Wave, one of the two women on the team. She never speaks in this episode. We see her laughing with the others at the diner, but that’s it in verbal communication, and we can’t tell if it’s her own laughter being heard. But we do see her motioning to Ron Karr with her hair when they were about to attack the Legion Cruiser. This does leave room for the people watching to speculate.
Maybe she can’t talk at all. If so, then the staff could have taken advantage of this. How? Let’s look at Sandman from ROTG.
Sandy can’t talk, but he uses his sands to do charades. Wave could have done something similar with her hair. That would have been amazing to watch.
Hunter has an accent, which I think is based off an Australian one, but I’m not reliable in distinguishing accents. He also seems to be the oldest, and has experienced with using different weapons. He also has experience fighting fauna from different places in space, as we hear him talking about fighting another space squid elsewhere. Putting the fight with Timber Wolf in an interesting perspective. Nothing else to add.
Then we have Ron Karr, who shares the same voice actor as Timber Wolf, Shawn Harrison. His power in the comics was originally flattening his body, however in the show he is a shapeshifter. I guess the original source’s power can be considered shape shifting to an extent, but I can see how this change can bother the comic fans.
Another power change of a comic character that comes to mind is Negasonic Teenage Warhead, also known as Ellie Phimister.
Originally, her power is telepathy and precognition. However, in the Deadpool movie, her powers have been massively changed to better suit her name. In the deleted scene, when she teases Deadpool, we do get a slight nod to her original power as she tells him she can predict the future.
I thought that the film handled her very well, including the power change. But that’s just my opinion.
I’m not sure why the staffdecided to change Ron Karr’s power. Unless they already were planning season 2, where he plays a more prominent role. Or they just wanted to do more with him, because flattening himself doesn’t let them do much.
Talking about his powers aside, he also pilots the LSV ship, but still gets owned by Bouncy’s skills. I can’t tell what age he is, although for the longest time I figured he was the youngest. Now I’m not sure.
Moving on, there is Esper, the second female member of the LSV.
It is clear she is the foil to Saturn Girl. Esper does not have any respect for privacy. Which is very alarming. She just went ahead and read Lightning Lad’s mind. And didn’t feel guilt afterwards. It’s unlikely she draws the line on when not to use her powers on others without permission. Esper does not think about another person’s consent. That makes her a very dangerous person. Even if she is supposed to be on the same team. And she does not offer the same comfort Saturn Girl does.
One thing I need to get off my chest however with her is her outfit. It is very obviously Egyptian-based. And she does not seem Egyptian. As I mentioned last time, I’m not Egyptian-descent, but this still bothers me. Much more than last time given that it’s far more obvious than the Head of the Council of Zerok (I found out that’s the proper spelling from the story boards).
… And as I’m writing this, the reboot of The Mummy is coming out in theaters.
*painfully heaves in the corner*
But most of the character designers of this episode are not white people (after doing a lot of searching on the names in credits). And Triplicate Girl herself was intended to have darker skin, but her skin was lightened in the final products, sadly. So, could Esper have had a less-white appearance in early product, and only her outfit was spared in post-production? Perhaps.
We won’t know what went down unless someone asks one of the people who was involved with development for this show.
Oh, and if you are looking for an alternative movie to “The Mummy” reboot film, or you saw it and you need treatment to recover from that, I have the perfect solution/treatment.
1999′s The Mummy.
Now to talk about Tyr.
He’s a smooth talker. Very good at convincing Lightning Lad to come and stay. Which is not easy, given his ego, and dislike for his brother. He seems like a natural leader. And I like his design too.
But my favorite thing about him is his voice actor.
Not sure on who he is? Here’s a little hint.
youtube
THAT’S RIGHT. HIS VOICE ACTOR IS KHARY PAYTON, THE SAME PERSON WHO DID CYBORG FROM TEEN TITANS.
KHARY’S CYBORG IS ONE OF THE MOST ENJOYABLE CHARACTERS OF ALL TIME. SO KNOWING THAT HE WORKED ON THIS SHOW EVEN A LITTLE BIT BRINGS A LOT OF JOY TO ME.
However, the ultimate downside is that Tyr is nowhere near as expressive as Cyborg, voice acting included. They are different characters, but one of the things that made Khary’s Cyborg enjoyable is the ablility to flex between joyful Boo-Yahs and very serious dialogue. We know he has the talent. But it’s not used to its full extent.
With that said, this does remind me one of the show’s biggest weakness. The ultimate comparison to Teen Titans’ original run.
Teen Titans had more development with its characters, more expressive animation, and a longer run that Legion of SuperHeroes. When Teen Titans finished season 5, many people were looking for a substitute. And given that LOSH is another DC comics, the comparison was going to happen. That’s something that the staff had to be aware of during production.
Good news is that now, we can say that LOSH is better than the current Teen Titans Go.
And now, our favorite brothers in this show.
If you want an image to sum up their fight in simple terms, here.
But to delve into more detail, we’ll first look at Lightning Lad.
So this is the first time we see him having idols to look up at, and does seem embarrassed by the Legion’s far more childish approaches to things. Even though he can also be childish at times. And we see his more aggressive/jerk side again, more than usual, matching the first episode’s personality again. The best examples are when he’s with Porcupine Pete – walking off is not a good way to console a fan, and when he tells Superman and Timber Wolf to leave him alone.
Does that mean he’s regressed in character development? No. His jerk personality was never fully addressed in other episodes. His ego was in Champions though. Which is something else entirely.
He does apologize to Saturn Girl for his behavior towards his teammates at the end though, and did seem to be expecting consequences of some sort for being with the LSV and how he told Superman to go.
He was very lucky Superman and Saturn Girl were ready to forgive him. However, I won’t be surprised if the others make him do some sort of re-initiation thing as punishment.
We also see he tends to have ideals on what heroes are like, neither of which the Legion or LSV live up to, for different reasons. But sees the LSV as far worse.
But we finally see part of the event that gave him his powers, and got a mention of it from Mekt.
The Lightning Beast attack. Which was him, his sister Ayla – who we finally see, and Mekt, being attacked by a creature far bigger than them, and was not friendly.
It was traumatic enough to turn Mekt’s hair white.
First thing to discuss is how deep that trauma affected him, regarding the previous episode.
Zyx messing with a large monster with powers, and was established previously that they are dangerous and will attack people. Sounds immediately familiar to Lightning Lad’s own story, doesn’t it?
And after they put Comet and Cupid back in their exhibit, Lighting Lad gets really mad. It wasn’t going to help the current situation then, but now that we know he’s seen that situation before, we can deduct something else.
He’s mad because it could have been a repeat of whatever happened back then. Making his reaction much more understandable.
At this point, we don’t know the full story of what happened though. Around this episode’s original air date, when I first watched it, I had looked Lighting Lad up on Wikipedia, and read more on the Lightning Beast attack, which gave all three siblings their powers. And found out that Lightning Lad’s sister, Ayla, who was also a legionnaire in the comics.
Which now begs the question – where is she in the show?
When I first watched this and did research, I figured she was simply not shown yet, or probably had not yet joined the legion, and was still living at home.
But now, it seems a bit more obvious that wasn’t simply the case. Neither brothers mention her at any point in this episode or Champions. Implying whatever situation she’s in, it wasn’t easy for them to talk about.
Back to Lightning Lad.
Regarding the relationship with his brother… it takes an unfortunate turn for the worse.
He clearly doesn’t trust Mekt when he first sees him in this episode, regarding the incident in Champions. And doesn’t see him as a very generous person. It doesn’t stop him from staying with the LSV though. And we see during the fight with the sand raiders, he still cares enough to help Mekt. And does admit he held out some hope that he would do something right, but that hope has ceased.
But during the final fight, it seems like whatever positive feelings has been cast aside. And expects Mekt to take advantage and deliver the final blow. But his expression when Mekt leaves suggest he’s saddened by the turn the relationship has gone.
Oof.
And now for our favorite piece of trash.
First thing. Get rid of the purple pants, Mekt. They don’t look good on you. Everything else of his costume is good though. And eyeliner is on point, and Dem Legs are as fine as ever.
And I like the touch of detail in parts of the episode where his lightning was a slightly different color from Lightning Lad’s. Sadly this detail is not kept consistent in the episode.
And now his role as a villain. Perfect. I completely can see him as a villain in this episode. And I certainly did when I first watched this. Hence making me dislike him.
In the original comics, Mekt was the leader of the LSV, called Lightning Lord, but no one calls him that, and Tyr seems to be the leader. Not sure why the change, but maybe it has something to do with the self-esteem issues we saw in Champions?
We see his selfish side shine through as he’s part of the LSV for financial reasons. But he’s not portrayed as a typical greedy villain, thank god. He also shows his powers in use in this episode, which we did not see last time, implying he has figured out how to use them effectively against people.
Once again, he’s the more positive person of the brothers’ relationship, but even that seems to change at the end of this episode.
He’s the one who wants Lightning Lad to join the team the most. Even calls him perfect for it. And when they are on the ship together, Mekt calls it like old times, and when we get a closer look at them, right when Esper is about to read Lightning Lad’s mind, he’s smiling.
He didn’t offer Lightning Lad a spot for any manipulative reasons. He genuinely wants his brother there just to spend time together.
When Lightning Lad refuses to help steal the decontamination units, Mekt tries to talk to him. Although it doesn’t work. Mekt gets mad and charges up to zap him, but then lowers his fist for a bit.
He zaps him a few moments later though.
During the fight, he comments he got more power from the Lightning Beast. How does he know that? I WANT DETAILS!
But I want to discuss a moment during the fight that stood out to me. When Lightning Lad is starting to corner him and seemed ready to deliver some serious blows, Mekt says something that I’m really curious about.
“Wait! I saved your life! Isn’t that worth something?”
At what point of time is he talking about? The Lightning Beast attack? He is shown trying to beat it with a stick to give Ayla and Garth time to run. But that happened so long ago, it wouldn’t make sense to bring it up at this point.
He doesn’t do anything in Champions to save him. And nothing in the fight against the sand raiders.
That leaves us with one other option.
Remember that when Lightning Lad turns on the LSV, he doesn’t zap Mekt, giving him no reason to zap his brother.
Except Lightning Lad zapped Tyr, who immediately tells him “You’re gonna wish you hadn’t done that.” So… shouldn’t Tyr been the one to hit him instead of Mekt?
Putting Mekt’s statement and the situation together paints us a new image.
Tyr has no emotional connections to Lightning Lad. He’s chill with having him on board, but isn’t desperate to keep him.
Tyr was possibly going to do something to Lightning Lad that would have been fatal, but Mekt intervened. Yeah, Lightning Lad got blasted out of the transport, but relatively speaking, he was unharmed.
This serves as more evidence Mekt does legitimately care for his brother.
But Lightning Lad states he doesn’t owe him for that. This is also a good point. Just because a person does something good, it doesn’t mean you automatically owe them.
But at the end of the fight, he’s overpowering Garth. All on his own ability.
Calling back to Champions now, remember he resorted to making a deal with the F5 in disguise to get first place. He bested Lightning Lad via cheating then.
But now, he’s not pulling any dirty tricks, and he still comes out on top. He’s coming in first, all on his own.
That is probably like getting high for him.
AND HE LOVES IT.
Which is toxic for their relationship, decreasing the positivity he had for it.
His remark towards Lightning Lad when asked what he’s waiting for when his brother is vulnerable is that he likes it better when he owes him, but warns him if he gets in his way again.
I know Lightning Lad at this point won’t hesitate if he must do something fatal to Mekt, even if somewhere deep in his heart he still wants to love him, and expects Mekt to be the same in regards of a fight. But it’s not as clear on Mekt’s end. He leaves a threat hanging over Lightning Lad’s head, but he had the chance to kill him.
So while hes not as positive on the relationship in the end as he was in the beginning, he’s still the more positive one than Lightning Lad.
That’s all for now, but for the next episode, I fully intend to stream it on my twitch channel. Haven’t decided on exact date or time yet. Will let you guys know eventually
In the meantime, I’m just going to be curled up in a ball while I cry about these two brothers.

Kevin Cage of @spotlightsaga reviews... Chicago PD (S04E20) Gasping for Salvation Airdate: April 26, 2017 @nbctv @nbcchicagopd Ratings: 6.270 Million :: 1.18 18-49 Demo Share Score: 3.75/10 TVTime/FB/IG/Tumblr/Path: @SpotlightSaga **********SPOILERS BELOW********* If one thing stands out in any episode of 'Chicago PD', it's any character (long or short term) coming through and threatening Hank Voight (Jason Beghe). Simply put, it is NOT a good idea! Whenever it happens, which isn't too often, I expect fireworks or some kind of eruption coming from Hank's general direction. Maybe his eyes will pop out like a cartoon character and flames & steam will rise from the top of his head. When any resistance or backtalk towards Voight is met with pure silence, the perpetrator may just be in more danger than if Hank Voight slammed them up against the intake wall or gave them a good piece of his mind... Something so intense that it's hard to wish on the scummiest of bad guys. Whatever it is, they should probably wish for a quick punch in the face over a cool, calm, collected, and secretly enraged Hank Voight. In Chicago PD 4x20, 'Gasping for Salvation', it's a fellow police officer, Denny Woods (Mykelti Williamson)... A cop from way back in Hank's past that makes this fatal mistake. You'd think someone who's been around Hank Voight and is aware of his reputation as long as Woods has been would know better, but there's always somebody putting ol' Hank to the test. Woods is Voight's superior, so maybe that had something to do with Woods' cocky behavior... That and the fact that Woods was involved in a cover-up that helped send an innocent man to prison for 17 years, so there is some desperation mixed in there as well that accounts for some of that ballsy attitude towards one of Chicago's most menacing and fearless Intelligence Officers. Something about the whole dynamic between the two men feels empty, the normal fireworks aren't there. It's not the issue in the story being told, but how it's being told. As we've mentioned many a time since NBC and everyone who works within the 'One Chicago' realm took on the third spinoff and 4th Chicago Franchise television series, Chicago Justice, there has been a noticeable drop-off in the quality of writing within not only these episodes but the story arcs that are the foundation and backbone of the seasons at hand. I had originally started with PD, then went back and fervently caught up on Chicago Fire so that I could watch the series and episode order the way they were meant to be watched. Then came Chicago Med... Then Chicago Justice. Suddenly the main emphasis fell on the big crossovers, the arcs that jumped from Chicago Series to Series, which in turn puts a strain on the individual series as a whole. For instance... Just who the hell is Denny Woods? Well, we're told facts about who he is within this singular, standalone episode and we're given a quick rundown as to the history between Woods and Voight. We are told what connects the two, besides sharing a job in the past, is the fact there is this sloppy arrest that put an innocent man away for such a large amount of time that Netflix could have easily picked up the story for a docuseries like 'Making a Murderer' if it had all actually happened in real life. If these writers and creators of One Chicago and particularly Chicago PD had the best interest of PD in mind, Woods would have been introduced many episodes ago... Maybe even several seasons, who knows... Whatever it took to build a proper compelling storyline that would have given this Voight vs Woods face off a much more epic feel, and made it actually mean something more than a 'one-and-done' throwaway ending, culminating to a moment where a door is being rightfully slammed in Vought's face. Of course, these people don't want anything to do with Voight. I personally wouldn't want to even see the man groveling at my feet for a genuine apology because, hello, you were part of a crew that took 17 years of my life away! That's 17 years of freedom, 17 years without a family, 17 years without being touched in a truly loving and meaningful way. No amount of money that could be awarded from the state for wrongful imprisonment would make up for those 17 hellacious years... That's near 2 freaking decades! And if the man had brushed up on his Netflix, he'd know to stay far away from any more police or strangers that came knocking around the door because as soon as that check hit he may be charged again and throwing all that money right back into the system! Good thing he had the common sense to anyway! Now just for a minute take all that background between Woods and Voight away. We're still left with a shaky foundation of a storyline that just so happens to involve a gun that supposedly matched a murder weapon from a case that was solved and closed ages & ages ago. They mean to tell me that because this man, Mark Scalise (Dana Ashbrook), the father of the murdererous son of this current case, Eric Scalise (Nickolas Loquercio), was a heroin addict and therefore kept the gun he used to murder someone and get away with it all those years ago? WHAT?! Writer Tiller Russell must be extremely tired or simply just not give a damn, because that is just straight lazy. Are we really supposed be shaking our heads and nodding in agreement to this asinine connection... 'Like father, like son!' Puh-lease!!! I simply cannot buy it. I simply will not buy it... Because I've seen this simple, straight forward Big 4 Network Procedural knock me down with some heavy hitting episodes, some of which were written by Tiller Russell himself! For me, that's just proof that everyone over at NBC working within this One Chicago Universe is tired, out of ideas, and simply over it. Can you blame them? There are literally 3 episodes of S4 left at this point, the writers should be making heavy strides towards creating a gripping story arc that captivates CPD's faithful audience to the end of the series, leaving them salivating for the series to return. I've been there with Chicago Fire and Chicago PD, I know it's possible. It's officially way past time to kick this tv series into overdrive. Sure, at its core CPD is an episodic procedural, but in the past 2-3 seasons we've seen the show take on serial elements that really connect each episode in a way that keeps the show fresh and engaging as possible. Unfortunately, all the show's across the board plainly feel like they've lost their mojo, their magic... It might be true that Chicago Med has always struggled to capture that magic, tho it has dramatically caught lightning in s bottle from time to time and walked away with some emotionally triumphant pieces... And it might be true that Chicago Justice never proved it had even an ounce of what it took to keep its claws in its audience, but this is no longer our show. Hopefully the cancellation of Justice will reinvigorate the franchise and NBC & Dick Wolf will have learned a valuable lesson... Don't beat your cash cow, nurture it, cradle it, and tuck it in at night. You don't want to end up with a full deck of faded out playing cards and massive waves of lost audience members, especially when it's the cornerstone of your network's median ratings.

12 MONKEYS SEASON 3 TRAILER
So…Syfy’s posted a new trailer for season 3 of 12 MONKEYS. Usually, I would do my best to dodge promos before a show or movie is actually released. I like to get hit w/the text with minimal hints and no spoilers, as little pre-text as possible. But, given the paradigm-shifting “linear-binge” release of this season—leave it to 12 MONKEYS to Splinter an entire season (encompassing centuries =) into a single weekend, with all 10 episodes beamed in order over May 19, 20, and 21—I’m thinking I’ll need to get my wheels-spinning crazy talk wherever I can. And thusly, I tumbl…
I posted a version without screenshots here. Along with the stills, this v.2 is slightly wordier (can you believe it?), including some edits and additions to the first post’s text/crazy talk.
The first new shot of Cole, from the front and then from behind, has him holding a tech-festooned staff. The design calls to mind a computerized tuning fork, *just* the thing for time/dimension/reality-hopping, or tuning/dialing. Perhaps one of its components is a tank of red tea, reloadable via Keurig-like cartridges? With a regulated IV feed or retractable needles in the handle? Maybe this device enhances or adapts Cole’s mental time travel abilities, allowing him to view specific points in time or even what-if?s. Could it be a way to enable him to physically travel? A staff version of the vests? =)
Titan appears as a complex/city in the distance with a sea with rocks or wreckage or maybe ice floes in the foreground. Does Titan only move in Time and not space (relative to the Earth)? Is it always in Colorado? Climate change is real, people!
We see someone with great posture ascend the steps within Titan to meet w/Tall Man, or perhaps his father, both surrounded by robed figures. RE: that posture…It reminds me of Ethan Seki, but knowing that he’s in this season, I’m thinking Gaius Baltar.
Someone sits at the center of a spiral of glyphs drawn in white on a dark floor. My funnest thought about these is that they might be a new form of math, notation, and/or language, developed specifically to describe and understand Time. Unfamiliar to most humans, but somehow native and natural to Time. These characters represent values, constants, operators, functions, ripples, and paradoxes and describe relationships between them that we wouldn’t understand, but someone whose mind is steeped in Time would. The Witness…maybe Primaries…maybe maybe some human geniuses or those with an intuitive knack and understanding of Time…
That first shot of the four hat-and-coated figures, silhouetted in the fog or smoke in the dark…The three lights on each of their vests powering on…Gorgeous! Evokes DARK CITY for me (a good thing =), and some kind of clockwork men. I want the tech to be embedded in these people, but a later shot shows us that this is likely tech mounted on a vest. Portable Splinter/Titan units, a la Doctor Who’s Vortex Manipulators? In a future world (like, the future of the future, post-2044) of 12 MONKEYS, that’s where my head immediately goes. Although, honestly, that seems very unfair, no?
Still, if that IS what they are, I'd associate them with some very interesting story/logic that necessitates their not being usable before some year. After all, if the Witness's forces *ever* had this tech, they could have used it in the times Team Splinter has visited, right? Maybe the use of these vests shreds spacetime, and jumping back beyond a certain point would undo their invention in the first place? Or, y'know, something like that. =)
I’m *really* hoping that these figures are Something Else, tho. At the bottom of the season 3 poster, we see them standing in front of a console with the Witness’s/Titan symbol, and so, we want to associate them, right? But what if that’s just a couple of these…Time Shadows entering the Titan city limits? What if these guys are representatives of another player in the war across/for time? Perhaps descendants of the Witness and the Titanians, who know more than W does…Or are using W as their agent in their relative past?
Or maybe they serve a Time Variance Authority. Some organization—who knows under what authority/morality?—that watches over and polices Time and History, countering and punishing anyone who seeks to change too much. Maybe to preserve their own existence, Time’s existence (assuming damage is done by reckless splintering), or their own ideal mission outcome.
Cuz, how great would it be to have everyone we know, set up as enemies and rivals in so many permutations, ultimately be on the same side versus some (apparently) greater Time fascist?
Or greater threat to Time itself? If we take the Red Forest being an End-of-Time paradise as a feint, constructed to get all the splinter chess pieces into the right places to bring about the birth of the Witness, then the Witness was never really about that, right? Maybe he didn’t come up w/that threat himself, tho. What if he adapted it from a greater threat to Time? So…Casserole & Son (*and* Jones, Jennifer, Ramse & Son, Olivia, the Daughters, the X-Monkeys, & Agent Gale, Primaries, Monkeys, Druze et al) are destined to fight someone who truly does want to destroy all of Time and replace it with… Well, nothingness seems like a good ultimate goal, let’s go with that for now.
What if the super-future is amazing, but in a universe in which time travel is ever invented, history must be choreographed in order for it to be realized and persist? So, this paradise future has a black ops arm that manipulates events in the past to keep it safe. The paradise is a wonderful destiny for humanity, but it robs humans in the past and present of free will. Which side would you fight for in that scenario?
Hrm…Looking a little harder at the season 3 poster again…Are there four Time Shadows (that works, right?) holding, like, an Ark of the Witness between them? I thought it was some kind of console/control panel, but now I’m seeing it differently. Interrrresting…
A funeral for Time? For the Witness?
A Time bomb?
If the vests aren’t vortex manipulator-y, maybe their portable splinter device?
A Witness trap or cage?
Time picnic dinner?
The Word of the Witness is shown preserved in plastic or lucite, hanging in a candelabra-lit room, a red-vine patterned banner (or glass pane?) behind it. Its Ramse-torn corner is still absent. Does Ramse still have that swatch tucked in a coat pocket somewhere?
COLE: The man behind the apocalypse is my son?
Seems like Cassie’s breaking the news to him there. What if this is soon after the pointing-the-gun-at-wee-Witness scene? What if he draws on L’il W, hesitates, and Cassie finds him, stops him, and explains the horr-ironic truth?
Meet Johnny (Night Room), Jr. =)
A clip of some creepy Edgar Allen Poe-y Masque(rade) of the Red Death…EYES WIDE SHUT Cole and Cassie apparently in attendance. Hrm…Red Death…I had a theory back in season 1 that the Army might be an influence throughout history responsible for all major epidemics/plagues, as a way to thin the herd, perhaps disable or control meddling Primaries, and keep a population manageable via their resources and manipulations.
Cross fade to Cass and Cole going Nicholas Nickleby/Christmas Carol on some cobblestoned street…
KATARINA: It's been about them…
That's Jones apparently referring to Cass and Cole.
<aside> What would Cassandra name her child? I’m guessing, sadly, that Cole won’t be present for the birth. Assuming it’s a boy, maybe she’d go with her father, whom we haven’t met yet. Has Cassie mentioned him by name on the show? If not that grandpa, then how about Cole’s father, Matthew? (I don’t think we have confirmation that he’s James’s bio dad, but we never saw anyone question it.) Or—How about someone important to *both* of them? The person responsible for bringing them together? Katarina Werner Jones! Boy, *that’s* gotta sit well with Katarina, eh? (see/watch above line of dialogue =)
So, how about Jones? Like the space cat in ALIEN! Or Jonas? Jonas Cole. Jonas Railly? Or…Werner? Not so cute, but somehow fitting for a Witness-to-be, eh? Werner Cole, The Witness. Yeah. That’ll look good on his business card.
I’m hoping for Morris. =) </aside>
RAMSE: About time we set things straight…
If that is actual dialogue between Jones and Ramse, it signifies the formation of an alliance, between Ramse (and Olivia and her X-Mon/Orphans of Time) and Jones and Project Splinter. Their goal? To undo and/or destroy the Witness, which would likely pit them against one or both of his parentals. Ramse *does* like to boast about how he eats blondes for breakfast…~
Next we see an eyes-burning return to the Emerson Hotel, sometime in the mid to late 80s.
Will we ever see the lightning storm/strike that freezes the lobby’s clock? =)
Cole is dressed as Marty McFly. O, man! Are we gonna get an in-universe origin/inspiration encounter for BACK TO THE FUTURE? Whoa…
So, how about this? Agent Gale’s granddaughter, Roberta, has somehow inherited his dossier on his wacky misadventures with Cole & the Gang, and is staking out the Emerson in the 80s, perhaps at her grandpa’s direction, but maybe on her own. She meets them, maybe joins them in splintering, if the tech allows (Deacon as Time…ummm…Peter? Paul? Judas doesn’t seem right, right? =) helps them out, but of course, is sworn to secrecy—who’d believe her, anyway?—but hey, disinformation as a 3-movie franchise wasn’t disallowed, right? Story credit: Bob Gale. =)
CASS: Help me save him.
It’s just a pronoun, people. "Him" could be anyone…Junior/Witness, Cole, Deacon, Nessie the Time Puppy… =)
Christopher Lloyd, wearing the Titan pendant, apparently standing in an event-y tent illuminated by standing and hanging lamps…a remote location? An excavation site? A wedding reception? A pop-up portrait studio?
The pendant and wardrobe sells the Tall Man's father identity pretty hard. As far as we know, he wouldn’t have any Messenger blood. So, if he’s not enhancedly long-lived, what era/s would he have been operating in? Given the garb, perhaps from within the clergy? Maybe late 19th century into the first half of the 20th, to find/meet Vivian in the 40s. There’s gotta be a story there about why/how Vivian returns to the Army after rejecting the Witness. I still would really love for Tall Man to be playing a long con within the Army, a sleeper agent of revenge upon the Witness for doing his mother wrong.
Maybe Christopher Lloyd's playing TM’s *adopted* father or Army mentor? Cuz I still *really* want his biodad to be Agent Gale! =)
Oh! What if he’s a missionary to the Druze?! Oooooo…I *like* that. That’s how/why he acquires the Titan pendant. In this scenario, he might not even be part of the Army! Although, if not, then he’s definitely an unwitting pawn or asset of theirs. Yeah, I definitely like that.
COLE: If there's something wrong with him, he got it from me…
We see some drawings of gun-pointing Cole, surrounded by arcane, rune-ish characters… There’s also a shot somewhere earlier in the teaser, looking down on a figure in the center of a spiral of similar marks on a floor, suggesting that the figure has drawn them. Jennifer? Young W?
What if these aren’t all different drawings of the same moment, but of two? One in which James reconsiders killing the Witness, and a second in which he follows through?
What if what if—relative to James’s personal timeline—the first time is when W is an adult and the second time is when he’s a child? OOooooooo~ That would be a history-rewriting temporal nukular option! =)
The drawings are followed by a matching image of Cole pointing the gun in reality, the exact some POV. If this were season 2, I’d say the drawings were done by a Primary who’d been targeted by Cole. His mission would have been to kill the Primary before a Messenger could paradox him or her. Could that strategy still be in play by the Witness or another party?
Or are these drawings by the Witness, who has seen that Cole would come for him as a child? Does Cole know at this gun-pointing time that W is actually Jimmy, Jr.? I’m guessing not. Hrm…
As determined as Cole might be to do in baby Witler, pointing his gun at any child should give him pause, especially with his own child no doubt foremost in his thoughts, separated by centuries.
We see Katarina approaching the mothballed/covered up Splinter device. A beautiful moment I think. When is this? In history and in her personal timeline? Could this be a flashback to when she first arrives at Raritan National Labs from Spearhead? Or a visit that calendar-year predates that (maybe in Kat’s past, maybe her future), after the Army shut down Mr. Dr. Jones when Cole and Ramse went off-Word. Or her return to the lab, in a future (splintered-forward?) visit, post-2044.
OLIVIA: …the very edge of time…an inch from falling over…
I *think* that’s what she says. Is there an End of Time? Following thru on the idea that Time is a living thing, given life by Humanity, the End of Time would be coincident with the end of Humanity. Maybe Titan’s “home” setting is that era? If only Titanians live then, then they (and their one or few Primaries) basically ARE Time, no? Whoever lives then, would essentially *be* Time.
We see someone bathed in the *golden* light of the Beast. This splinter event does not look optimal. Hopefully the splinterer survives…. Remember that the splinter beam goes to yellow/gold when zapping forward in time, and blue when zapping backward. I believe red is shutdown-slash-fail.
Hrm…Those splinter colors do seem to match those of the lights on the Time Vests…Time Packs?
We see Cass approach a pedestal with a Witness plague doctor mask mounted on it…The mask is lit from above, but the space is lit by candles. This may be the same space in which the WotW is hanging.
JENN: Stop talking like a super villain.
Jennifer continues to rock! Olivia and Jennifer seem to be speaking to each other through a chain link fence. Olivia’s lucky there’s something separating them, cuz *that* is going to be an interesting reunion. I wonder how close the nearest stabby item is when that happens. =)
THE COMPLETE NEW SEASON
KATARINA (or the new girl?): Don't make me put you down…
As Jones pushes thru double doors (at Project Splinter?)…Daughters behind her?
JENN: They're coming—they're coming!
This may be Jennifer the Titan-zapped girl-out-of-time dropped into WW1 (or later, 2?), exercising her Primary abilities to warn her unwitting captors or guards of imminent Monkeys Army meddling.
DEACON: Go!
This looks like a shot from the season 2 finale, caught between a rock and robed-and-masked place, facing Witness acolytes in Titan, holding the pass so that Jennifer can escape get coin-tossed into Time. Maybe just cuz that footage is available, but maybe cuz we’ll see it again when we learn how he survived.
Ramse, leading with a gun and firing…Nothing new there, right? Actually, when I saw this, something in the shot, maybe the building interior, got me thinking this might be from Berlin.
IN ONE WEEKEND EVENT
CASS: He's mine…
Cut to Cass apparently giving birth…a new age-y red leaf infused water birth?
Tall Man looking true-believer-ecstatically pleased…Maybe a shot we’ve already seen?
EVIL ANNIE LENNOX: You can't have him…
She's sporting a 3-lights vest vortex manipulator over her MIB/Stranger/Observer/Chosen One/Time Shadow coat…
Jenn and Cole stomping thru a complex (looks like Project Splinter), Cole loading his gun, Jenn following…
A chapel or small-ish cathedral (I don’t know what determines the difference), the sanctuary heavily candlelit…Are the walls decorated with gilded red vines? A figure before a table before the altar with his back to the pews…It seems the voice we hear should belong to that figure…
W: Mother…Father…After all this time…
Two people walk down the aisle, approaching the figure at the front of the chapel… Seems like Cass on the left, Cole on the right, guns in hand, possibly in those black coats—in disguise?—maybe wearing Time Vests.
Did Cass and Cole ever officially get hitched? Maybe their ordained son can marry them here? =)
Looking harder at this still, I’m seeing that the Witness is standing facing a casket! Is this then a very poorly attended funeral service? Who died? Tall Pops, perhaps? Or is the casket empty? A funeral for Time? Or is it not a box for a body, but an item, a device or a trap? Is this the “Ark” that the four Time Shadows carry in the season 3 poster? Pallbearers of Time?
A Time capsule! Some artifact in this past era that needs to be preserved for use in a future one. Could this be the origin—or a stopover?—for the Annapurna Remains?
Cut to a figure raising a mask to reveal his face during "After all this time…"
Knowing that James “Gaius Baltar” Callis is in this season, I think it's him and his Brit-ish/aristocratic accented voice. Not sure that the unmasking happens in that same chapel space or as part of that same scene.
Based on W’s choice of words, seems like Cass will be separated from her son at some point in his infancy. Sad. =(
Then again, if that’s the case, who’s to say that this person confronting them *is* actually Jimmy, Jr., huh? =)
12 MONKEYS NEW SEASON MAY 19
It’s later than you think =)
Keep on keepin’ on~

12 MONKEYS SEASON 3 TRAILER
* UPDATE *
I’ve posted a v.2 of this, now with screenshot visual aids *and* more rambling! I know—how’s *that* possible, right?
So…Syfy’s posted a new trailer for season 3 of 12 MONKEYS. Usually, I would do my best to dodge promos before a show or movie is actually released.
What if the super-future is amazing, but in a universe in which time travel is ever invented, history must be choreographed in order for it to be realized and persist.
The Word of the Witness is shown preserved in plastic panes or lucite, hanging in a candelabra-lit room, a red-vine patterned banner (or glass pane?) behind it. Its Ramse-torn corner is still absent. Does Ramse still have that swatch tucked in a coat pocket somewhere?
COLE: The man behind the apocalypse is my son?
A clip of some creepy Edgar Allen Poe-y Masque(rade) of the Red Death…Cole and Cassie apparently in attendance.
"Him" could be anyone…Junior/Witness, Cole, Deacon, Witness the Time Puppy… =)
Maybe Christopher Lloyd's playing TM’s adopted father or Army mentor? Cuz I still *really* want his biodad to be Agent Gale! =)
Jennifer? Young W?
The drawings are followed by a matching image of Cole pointing the gun in reality, the exact some POV. If this were season 2, I’d say the drawings were done by a Primary who’d been targeted by Cole. His mission would have been to kill the Primary before a Messenger could paradox him or her. Could that strategy still be in play by the Witness or another party?
Or are these drawings by the Witness, who has seen that Cole would come for him as a child? Does Cole know at this gun-pointing time that W is actually Jimmy, Jr.? I’m guessing not. Hrm…
We see Katarina approaching the mothballed/covered up Splinter device.
A chapel or small-ish cathedral(?), the sanctuary heavily candlelit…Are the walls decorated with gilded red vines? A figure before a table before the altar with his back to the pews…It seems the voice we hear should belong to that figure…
W: Mother…Father…After all this time…
Two people walk down the aisle, approaching the figure at the front of the chapel… Seems like Cass on the left, Cole on the right, possibly in those black coats—in disguise?—maybe wearing Time Vests.
