If S3 gets cancelled you know Michael and David will get dressed up, hair dyed, contacts and bow tie in place, and tell Georgia to grab the phone. Remember, they both know how it ends.

Read Right to Left (Manga Format)
I have returned to watching demon slayer after a year and it came up while I was having a serious late night talk with my big sister. I was talking about the relationship between Michikatsu/Kokushibo and Yoriichi and it turns out we both see each other in Yoriichi's shoes and ourselves in Michikatsu's place. Definitely surprising, but really relieving to know that we both worry too much and we are not so far apart in skill as we believe.
This is technically the first piece of fanart I've ever made for the characters in Demon Slayer, I have made OCs before but I never drew an actual character from the story. For context this is mostly just a fun "what if" scenario with them meeting in the afterlife. I like to think Yoriichi's love would reawaken Michikatsu's humanity.

Spy x Family would have been so fucking bleak and depressing if it weren't for the comedy angle. It could have easily been a story highly focused on how war impacts people even years after it ends, being constantly pessimistic and dark and focusing on the monstrous things people are capable of. It could easily show just the hopeless side of it.
Instead, while it's very realistic on how the characters have been affected by the war, it chooses to put that face-to-face with natural, everyday humanity. Twilight's reluctance to accept his feelings for his family is treated with a touch of humor because it's compared to the innocent way Anya and Yor offer their love - and that's what being human is.
We're meant to live with each other. We're meant to love each other, it's literally in our fucking DNA to create bonds and depend on others for emotional support. Our very first instinct upon being born is to cry because our DNA tells us we will be brought into a world that will hear our cry and help us. It's how people find hope in each other, in small acts of everyday kindness because we're meant to live like that, to support and help and connect with each other.
And the characters' bleak past is contrasted with humanity's innate everyday kindness to the point of making it humorous because war is such a deviation from how humans are meant to live that a man who spends his entire life affected by it looks almost comical in contrast with a little girl who, based on her basic human instincts, believes that she can find a family to love her and can help achieve world peace, with someone right in the middle being one who has seen war but had had a constant reminder of how humanity is about connection and love (Yor, with Yuri being her reminder).
And I just find it so very fitting and also very based of Endo to choose to add that angle in the story. Humanity is not bleak. Even if we deviate from our path we can still find our way and we're naturally inclined to that way. We just have to see the good in each other, to believe that we will not be left alone, to share and know that if we're ever in need, someone will offer their hand to share with us.

Fatigue was common after a long day at work, and after today's shift especially so. You were worn out, exhausted, beat- the commute home was a blur to your exhausted self, and you wanted nothing more than to go home and sink deep into your soft bed for a post-work nap.
Unlocking the door to your home you stagger inside, kicking off your shoes and closing the door behind you. Finally, you can put the day behind you and rest...your bed upstairs was too far away, so you tiredly made your way to the couch to flop down. And flop you did, with your couch being so warm and inviting....and...grumbly?
Ah. This was your partner.
"Welcome home, love~" They purred, however upon seeing your fatigued state they frown. "Bad day, huh…? Let me fix that."
Before you could muster the energy to respond or even open your eyes, you felt yourself being grabbed and dragged forward. Your head was quickly enveloped by humid warmth, and you picked up on what was happening right away. Thick gulps worked hard to pull you deep inside their throat, and you noted they weren't taking their time to taste you- they must want to get you situated as soon as possible. The warmth of their body seeped into you as each swallow pulled you down, and you felt yourself finally starting to relax.
It didn't take long for your body to spill out into their stomach, with the walls shifting to cradle you. A pleased burble and a quiet burp from above told you that they were as content as you were, and you could feel their hand gently rubbing at you from the outside to make you comfortable.
"Welcome to your real home, my dear…you just settle in and make yourself comfortable, okay?" Their voice reverberated around you soothingly. "I'll take care of dinner tonight. Just let me know when you're ready to come up."
