Izzy Hands: The Moon.

Re-imagined from the traditional Rider-Waite-Smith tarot, this version of the Moon shows Izzy taking the shape of a lone Lover, longing for what he cannot reach.

Longer exploration of the card's symbolism under the cut.

Symbolism of the card

I initially meant this card to be specifically Izzy's, but he is once again unseparable from Ed. Though the moon itself is depicted as Ed, it is through Izzy that I interpret the journey of the card. Feel free to invent your own interpretation as well!

In the original version of the Moon we see a dog, a wolf, and a crayfish. Izzy takes the place of the wolf, marking him as wild and untameable. He is accompanied by a dog, symbolizing his loyalty. The crayfish has retreated, and we can see a monster lurking in the depths of the water, reminding us of the beasts that lie within.

Rachel Pollack (2011) writes: "The Moon signifies the dangerous time between the end of one world structure and the beginning of another. On the emotional level it can indicate the strange state when something powerful has ended and you find yourself thrown back on your instincts."

In the card Izzy already has his wooden leg. He his stepping into his role as the Unicorn, marking a shift in his loyalty and his place in the world. His reign as Blackbeard's first mate is ending, and a whole new world order is being imagined.

Ed is also seen in a new light. With his short beard, he is at the end of his captaincy, possibly even at the end of his piracy. He as the Moon is illuminated by the light of the Sun, personified by Stede in another card, The Sun.

Izzy bears witness to their combined light, unreachable to him on the ground. He teeters at the edge of the water illuminated by that very light, and is faced with a choice. Will he turn, follow the path and try to reach the unreachable? Or will he explore the unknown waters in front of him?

In tarot, water symbolizes emotions, intuition and subconscious. Pollack writes: "Here in the unknown territory our animal selves take over. We cannot suppress the wild emotions but only travel through them." The message of the Moon beckons Izzy to step into the water and face his emotions.

However, there are also dangers in the murky waters of the subconscious. Pollack continues: "The Moon card calls forth powerful dreams, visions, and the power of the feminine." In tarot water is a feminine element. Izzy, a beacon of masculinity, has in the past confused the feminine with the monstrous. He is now dared to invite the feminine within him to the surface. His posture already mirrors that of the feminine lover from the Lovers-card. It also calls back to the Fool, to someone at the beginning of their self-discovery.

Tl;dr: Izzy, the Fool and the Lover, is on a journey from one world to another. Will he follow the path and try to reach the unreachable, or will he find the courage to plunge into unknown waters?

Guys while hallucinating on my new meds, I came to the realization that Mihawk was out on the open seas as swordsman since he was a teenager maybe even younger…. Did he ever finish a normal education?

Scratch that did he even have a normal education? Does he know math? Can my guy tell me the quadratic formula? Like I think we all forget as individuals how much school taught us yes the school system is broken blah blah but guys we understand germ theory and how birds fly and chemistry and biology that people just 60 years ago wouldn’t have known and would have killed to know, like I’m sure he can write and I’m pretty sure he can read but does he know how the moon pulls the tide? Did he know the earth wasn’t flat until he saw a globe for the first time?

Have we as individuals been bamboozled by the stoic gothic refinement of luxury that Mihawk projects we completely overlooked they fact the guy probably doesn’t know salt is a rock? Like wanna bet he saw how cool the over the top refined gay goth was and just like tailored that too his vibe but he’s never actually read a classic in his life?

What I’m trying to get at is Shanks who grew up around some of the smartest people in the world who spoke multiple languages, one was a doctor and you know Rayliegh who definitely doubled as a quartermaster might have a higher education then Mihawk.

Like I think it would be funny if Shanks was the guy who read books on Philosophy and artistic historical movements throughout the world (cough to impress Mihawk cough) and Mihawk doesn’t know how fish breathe underwater and has never read anything higher the a YA novel. (Which are awesome books but talk about reading a book by its cover! Lol… I’ll see myself out.)

I want to meet the woman who had not one but TWO kids with Hermes. Two kids so close in age and are so alike people just assume that they're twins, two kids who are chaos personified, who singlehandedly run the camp shop, who are in charge of the biggest cabin at camp and look after their equally chaotic gremlin siblings plus every unclaimed kid at camp like Lou Ellen a daughter of Hecate and another being of chaos who learnt it all from them, and who take every opportunity to fuck shit up, to prank their camp mates or to steal shit. Their last name, which they get from their mama? Stoll by the way. Neither child notices the pun.

I want to meet Mama Stoll, who saw the chaos, who saw the bullshit Hermes brought into her life the first go around and said tonight's the night let's do it again. She is either the world's greatest cat burglar who enticed the god of Thieves or the messenger god was enchanted by the best god dam delivery woman on the planet. There's no in-between. It was just a bonus that her surname was the perfect pun. Her and Hermes laugh about it. In my head, it's all canon. Regardless, she unleashed two agents of unlimited chaos onto an unsuspecting world, and I love her for it. I take my hat off to her, I kneel before her.

Oh, and the oldest kid, Travis? He's dating a girl called Katie, who is the daughter of Demeter. Her last name? Gardner. Fucking Gardner. She has a sister called Miranda Gardiner, by the way. Mama Stoll finds it hilarious. Her sons still don't get the pun, but at least she gets on with her future daughter in law like a house on fire.

The Rain That Keeps Me Awake (OG Wiggles & Captain)

"Hey, Captain Feathersword you okay?" Greg asked as he watched the pirate pace back and forth across the wiggles house floors.

"No no no no no oh barrels this isn't good at all," Captain muttered to himself.

"I'm sure your pirate ship will be fine. It's been through a lot worse storms than this one." Greg tried reassuring the Captain.

"I know it has been through a WHOLE LOT worse matie..." Captain replied with a small smile.

"Then why are you pacing back and forth Captain?" Anthony asked as he was sitting on a chair.

"Thinkin'"

"About your ship?" Jeff chimed in.

"Well yeah... Do you think I could go back to my ship?" Captain looked to the wiggles with deep hope in his eyes.

"By the looks of things outside I don't think you'll be getting back anytime soon I'm afraid," Murry said looking out the window at the storm going on. Captain sighed quietly as the hope in his eyes died away.

"Hey, you could have a sleepover with us!" Jeff sprung up excitedly as the idea came to mind. The other wiggles perked up at this.

"Mhm, you could Captain Feathersword I mean you can't really go anywhere anyway." Greg nodded.

"Oh uh-"

"Come on Captain it'll be fun! We promise." Anthony swung an arm over Captain's shoulders.

"It's just that-"

"What? what's wrong?" Jeff asked. 

"Don't worry about it."

The Wiggles did just that and shrugged it off (literally shrugging).

The Story - Current Wiggle Gen

"...The seas were as rough as a dog destroying a chew toy, and the waves were as curly and swirly as a curly wurly treat..." Captain Feathersword told the crowd of Wiggles with an adventurous tone.

.... LATER ON

"Now I must be off. I've got some things to go do."

"Can we give you a hand, Captain?" One of the wiggles asked.

"Unfortunately, no, it's only for pirates to do."

Wags goes up to Captain and woofs wanting to come along with him.

"Sorry, Wags Matey, it's only for the captain to deal with."

Wags was disappointed, and he whimpered. Captain gave him a pat and a scratch behind his ear.

The others looked at one another, each as confused as the person they looked at.

"That sounds mighty important, Captain. May I ask what it is that you have to do?" Tsehay asked

"Sorry Tsehay, it can't be spoken about." Captain said, crossing his arms and lightly shaking his head with a sorry expression.

"Crikey super duper important," Simon noted eyebrows raised in surprise.

Emotions Are Everywhere - Third Gen Wiggles (Emma, Simon, Anthony, & Lachy)

Captain is an emotional soul

He truly is.

He can overreact.

The truth is he can't always help it. Sure there are times when he does it on purpose. To be dramatic. But there are also times when it's not on purpose and it's his raw emotions.
