what’s cheren’s battling style like? does he plan everything out beforehand or go with his gut? does he take risks or always use the safest move? etc etc
Hi, thank you for the ask!
Cheren’s battling style is very tactical. There’s very little going with his gut and instead analyzes every little situation. Trying to find weakness and utilize it to his best ability. Even exploiting his opponents weaknesses. He has a strategy for almost ever scenario and finds himself never taking risks if he can help it.
He treats battles like it’s chess almost, and I would almost call him cunning with how he exploits what he can.
He does everything he can to be the best. Taking advantage of every bit of knowledge and strategy he can think of. From basic trainer knowledge like type matchups and held items, to taking cheap shots.
Tumblr media
His team is switched up from canon too. Which he picked out to cover any possible weaknesses he may have with his own.
In general I’d say it’d be: overwhelming, sometimes underhanded strategy. Show no weakness.

Y'all wanted the Pokemon Au y'all getting the Pokemon au, explanations for the Pokemon and more Au info under the cut. Feel free to put questions about the Au in my Ask box
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Au is focused on Pirate captains being Pokemon trainers and their crew their Pokemon, with exceptions like non pirate characters who have Pokemon based on their personalitys.
The world is a mix out of the op world and Pokemon universe, so instead of canon Pokemon regions the regions are based of the op islands, as an example, Luffy is from the Goa Region and travels to other Regions like the Alabasta region or Wano region, in order to beat the strongest trainers in each place he visits in order to become world champion.
Luffys team
Zoro as Chine-Pao: Zoro is often associated with tigers (big cats) and obviously his swords. Luffy also meets him for the first time while he is tied up, wich can parallel how you optain a Chien-Pao wich is locked away
Nami as Liepard: Luffy would meet Nami as a Purloin, wich are known for tricking and stealing from people, her title is also “Cat burgler”
Usopp as Inteleon: Luffy would meet Usopp as a Wobble, since he's such a coward at the start of the series. He would evolve into Drizzile during Water 7 and latter into Inteleon. Inteleon was kind of a no brainer since it's the only sniper Pokemon.
Sanji as Cinderac: Cinderace's Signature move is a Flame kick of sorts. Luffy would meet him as a Raboot, and evolves intomCinderace during Enies Lobby. (British opla sanji…)
Chopper as Sawsbuck: Reindeer, Cheery blossoms.
Robin as Runerigus: Robin is an archaeologists who specifies in finding all of the poneglyphs so her Pokemon being made out off rune tablets makes a lot of sense. Plus the ghost typing can be a hint to her title of “Devil child”
Franky as Blastoise: Franky is basically a weapon himself so making him the literal Tank turtle makes sense to me, also remember the Squirtle with the sunglasses? yeah.
Brook as Houndstone: There aren't a lot of skeleton Pokemon so there was little choice. Houndstones is part of the Ghost gym leaders team, who is a Musician.
Jinbei as Empoleon: Jinbei used to be one of the seven warlords of the sea and is a very honorable person wich works with the personality of Empoleons. He's also shown using a Trident as a weapon.
Kobys team
Milotic: Both of them start of as ugly little loser boys but have one hell of a glow up /affectionate + Milotic would be a great swimming buddy.
Lycanroc: (dog boy koby is so real to me) Dog Pokemon, though more commonly Arcanine, are used as police Pokemon, most likely given to him by Garp.
Gallade: The Fighting type fits Kobys swinging hand approach well and the Psychic type his Observation haki plus being quite the noble Pokemon.
Togekiss: A flying type to reference his Moonwalk ability and generally seeming like a Pokemon would put the effort into raising.
Lucario: dog.. Again, Another Pokemon I feel like Koby would put the effort into raising, fighting type, and the Aura gimmick just matches the vibe as well yk.
Blissey: A healer Pokemon that would assist both hurt trainers and Pokemon, god knows it's good to have one on you when you travel with Luffy.

So that PokĂŠmon au, what you thinking for Natlan?
☆ mavuika (fire • dragon) personally trains young and upcoming trainers. natlan actually does use some pokemon inspiration... i'm thinking something very similar to unova. every tribe is a gym, and their strongest member is the gym leader
- kinich (grass • dark), signature: decidueye. ajaw is a snivy.
- mualani (water • flying), signature: primarina. she's involved in shenanigans with keldeo. she and her smeargle paint graffiti on the gym walls.
- xilonen (rock • steel). she forges pokeballs, and is responsible for new varieties and technologies of capture devices, as well as the developer of the pc storage system, which she worked on alongside kinich. signature: gigalith. she's also an elite four member, so...
- the current rising star is kachina! (normal • ground). she's closest to her pachirisu and herdier. as the first gym leader she's beaten very easily and feels disheartened, but is quickly livened up when mualani and kinich invite her to go pokedex-hunting again. signature: excadrill.
- chasca (flying • dark), signature: braviary. she carries out a lot of her aerial patrol on her druddigon. grew up with a liepard.
- ororon (dark • electric), signature: noivern. he didn't initially think he could be a gym leader, but citlali requested him to, since she preferred isolation. he's mostly seen talking to his beheeyem, who helps him grow vegetables in his free time.
- iansan (electric • fairy), member of elite four. signature: eelektross and zebstrika. if you see a unique looking emolga, it belongs to her.
- mavuika is most known for her haxorus. her closest companion is victini. reshiram is a guardian to her, and she also owns a pyroar.
☆ citlali (psychic • ice) is the professor of the region, never seen without her musharna, reuniclus or gothitelle. the one closest to her heart though, is her cinccino. she's secretly an elite four member. she employed the help of kinich, kachina and mualani to fill up the current pokedex model - which was manufactured by the scions of the canopy. so just like the unova pokedex, the natlan pokedex is extremely efficient and advanced. look closely, and you'll see that citlali carries a personalized version of the pokedex, colored pink. kinich, mualani and kachina also have personalized versions. finally, the night kingdom is the equivalent of the entralink, which citlali studies with the help of her musharna.
☆ il capitano (dark • ghost • dragon) seeks to awaken the power of kyurem, and personally commands zekrom. he and mavuika eventually come to own kyurem jointly, after quelling its anger with the help of reshiram and zekrom together. they famously own the white and black stones respectively. kyurem's dna splicers are kept with the masters of the night wind. capitano also owns a hydreigon and zoroark.
☆ the lord of the night is a talking sigilyph. archen and archeops surround her, as well as golett and golurk. the latter two serve as the token ancient mechanism enemies. and also the klingklang line.
☆ cobalion is often seen haunting the flower feather clan, virizion along the scions of the canopy, and terrakion the children of the echoes. mualani, chasca, kinich and kachina all find themselves in a pickle to make the legendary keldeo appear. keldeo responds to mualani's wishes.
☆ kachina and xilonen have an arc with diancie where many others get involved.

As promised, RotE characters signature Pokemon part 2. Link to the OP
Nighteyes-Lucario
I know he’s an animal but he still gets a Pokémon. I think he would like Lucario; a fellow canine who can read peoples minds. It’s kind of a niche category so meeting another one is always an experience.
Tumblr media
Hap-Yamper
I adore Yamper because he just seems so friendly and happy. Big Hap energy; he is the only one of Fitz’s kids who grew up to be cheerful and it’s honestly legit amazing given who raised him.
Tumblr media
Regal-Serperior
Serperior is how Regal is careful to present himself. Flashy, covered in symbols of royalty, arrogant. It’s a snake too which is a nice touch given how underhanded Regal is.
Tumblr media
Shine-Liepard
Liepard really has the perfect “I think I’m better than you but it’s very important to me that you think so as well” vibe. I’m afraid her brother Lant doesn’t get one though because he doesn’t have much of a discernible personality for me to base my selection on.
Tumblr media
Ilistore-Froslass
Just perfect. A PokĂŠmon who traps men in blizzards and kills them? Ice/Ghost type? All female? This is the Ilistore PokĂŠmon. She would totally live in the ice palace.
Tumblr media
Verity-Arcanine
I wish I could say why I picked this but I can’t. It’s totally ineffable but also intuitive to me? I was just like “Verity is Arcanine” without a second thought.
Tumblr media
Molly-Tsareena
This is the one I found the toughest. I went through a lot of PokĂŠmon, but I finally settled on Tsareena because she looks like she had Mollys inner fire and take no shit attitude.
Tumblr media
Spark/Ash-Litleo
I thought about this, and I chose Litleo because it has a gender variant evolution (Pyroar) and I thought that fit Spark/Ashes gender fluidity. It’s so cute too!
Tumblr media
Thick-Impidimp.
When he was making Fitz trip and hit his head with the Skill because he was mad about having to ride in the boat, that had major Impidimp energy.
Tumblr media
Starling-Screamtail
This is just funny. Vanilla Jigglypuff with its cut singing would not suffice to capture her essence. The Howling Bitch can only be sufficiently represented by prehistoric monster Jigglypuff.

Here is the Wah trio's pokemon team
Wapeach
Iron Valiant- Wapeach was created by Camelot, Camelot is associated with King Arthur and he is known for his knights, a knightly pokemon is Gallade. Wapeach is a character that only exist in the drafts of one man, only brought to life by the internent so she's in a state of existence and non existence kind of like a Paradox and Iron Valiant is a paradox that is associated with Gallade a knightly pokemon
Delcatty- The only other purple cat pokemon is Liepard but Delcatty feels like it fits better
Axew/Haxorus- Based on Wapeach's axe and the fact she is depicted by artist as either a small gremlin or adult gremlin
Muk- Given that she is Peach's rival, I feel like she'd try to compete with her in the field of cooking but sucks
Shroomish/Breloom- personal head cannon, she is or at least was the ruler of the goombas before giving that power to Bowser's father king Rex Koopa
Granbull- In some fan art she is depicted with a chain chomp and Granbull looks likes an imposing pokemon
Waluigi
Carnivine- At some point Waluigi was associated with piranha plants
Excadrill- Its the closest I could think of for Waluigi's signature vehicle in Mario Kart ds the gold Mantis
Roserade- Waluigi signature flower
Gallade- The same reason as Wapeach's Iron Valiant based on Camelot
Electrode- His volitile nature and tennis abilites
Metagross- In smash bros Waluigi is able to bury people so I gave him the pokemon that can also do that
Wario
Revavroom- Obviously based on his car
Miraidon- I normally don't give people legendaries because I'm not a chump but I feel like Wario wouldn't settle for A cylizar for a motorcycle
Conkeldurr- Its a strong pokemon with a goofy look basically how you would describe Wario
Gholdengo- As a treasure hunter Wario would totally go after gimmighouls to get a Gholdengo
Ditto- this is a stretch but its based on Wario reactionary abilities and master of disguise power ups

10, 11, 19, 21, 35 for the dnd meme, mostly because I like those questions for my own PC, lol
I'm gonna roll a d12 for which PC to answer each of these for, since I so conveniently have 12 characters I've played in campaigns!
10. How does your PC fidget?
Whist doesn't fidget much or get impatient easily, thanks to a lifetime of hunting, stealth and forestcraft. They tend to stand completely immobile and stare at people instead, which is vastly more unsettling. I think they often care for their weapons in quiet moments though -- fiddling with the fletching on their arrows, sharpening arrowheads, whatever. They also occasionally touch and handle their longbow, which belonged to their mother, as a source of comfort. That's magical, however, and therefore doesn't require as much physical upkeep.
11. How does your PC show affection?
Okay Qree is an aarokocra, let me google some bird facts real quick...
Well! At a glance, several sources suggest birds of prey don't really express affection, but they do show trust by carrying out their own business as usual when you're nearby. So I'm picturing Qree, who grew up in an aarokocra community, just spending quality time with people and assuming they understand that means he likes them. Maybe bring back treats/small gifts while out flying, after realizing other people might not recognize his usual behavior as affection? Or just telling them in simple language that he cares about them.
19. What is your PC’s Pokemon Gym Leader type and Signature Pokemon?
Oof, that's kind of hard. Lei's theme is white light and cold silver fire, so I'm actually tempted to say Ice. And probably Alolan Ninetales, for the theme of "looks like fire but will actually freeze you to death."
Or maybe Dark type, with all those Pokemon that look sleek and sexy right before fucking you up-- Absol, Liepard, Umbreon, etc.
21. What tarot would your PC be?
I only played Ned for a few sessions, but she was supposed to be the Sun -- warm-hearted, optimistic and energetic. I don't have a lot of characters whose default state is a good mood.
35. If your PC was a dating option in a farming simulator (a la harvest moon or stardew valley), what kind of items would they like?
I rolled Haven this time! She's very easy to please. Books, paper and pens are the obvious choices, and will endear you to her forever. Her loved ones have also been known to bring her snacks and things because she forgets to feed herself -- Klaus sometimes brings her mangoes, which she makes an enormous mess eating but enjoys very much. Of course, if you're actually trying for romance, you'll have to be more forward than that, because she's very oblivious. It took all three of the other party members to get her now-fiancee a first date with her.

Here are some incoherent Pokemon/Silmarillion AU thoughts
*~Feanorian Edition~*
- Pokemon from Valinor have Elvish lifespans, but they still die like mortals do. When the Elves came to Beleriand they were horrified to find out the pokemon they caught on these shores had much shorter lifespans then they were used to.
- Feanor and all his sons have an Eeveelution, he gifts them an eevee egg when they are children and it just so happens that each evolved into a different type. Feanor has a Flareon, Maedhros has a Slyveon, Maglor has Vaporeon, Celegorm has Leafeon, Caranthir has an Umbreon, Curufin has an Espeon (and hes so bitter about it he wanted it to be a Flareon like his dad), and Ambarussa have a Jolteon and a Glaceon. Celebrimbor had an Eevee, it never evolved, he was too afraid of what it might turn into.
- Feanors Flareon dies with him, Slyveon died in the Battle of Unnumbered Tears, Beren accidentally killed Leafeon, Umbreon was killed defending Haleths people during the Battle of Sudden Flames, Jolteon was killed in Sirion, Glaceon was on one of the Swan Ships and Umbarto was burned badly trying to go save him. Vaporeon is still by Maglor’s side, Espeon left with Celebrimbor but ended up dying when Eregion was sacked in the SA.
- Besides Slyveon, Maedhros' signature pokemon is a Zoroark. It became a Hisuian Zoroark after it was killed in the battle where Maedhros was captured by Melkor. It helped him guard the East on Himring and was feared by both enemy and ally both for its looks and deadly temper- even if that temper was never turned on one it protected. Many used Zoroark as proof that Maedhros did die and was brought back to life, or is one of Sauron's ghostly thralls. Elrond eventually inherited him and by the SA it calmed down a lot even if its tortured appearance still frightened everyone, especially the Sindar and those who survived Doriath or Sirion. During the TA the Zoroark mostly just hangs around the woods around Rivendell with Absol not causing problems and doing border patrol.
- Miriel has a shiny Absol that stayed in Lorien after she died, but one day it heard Maglor singing and decided to follow him home since he sounded like her old partner. The Absol later decided to follow Elrond and spent most of the SA and TA helping calm Zoroark and was an invaluable partner for Elrond
- While all Elves can send feelings, wants, or vague images though osanwe to their pokemon to converse, Celegorm is the only one that can actually speak to all pokemon. He uses this ability for evil as hell gossip right in front of your face with your pokemon about you. Finrod for some reason can only speak to bird pokemon.
- Celegorm is the only one to have a full 6 Team. Besides Leafeon, he has an Entei named Huan and a Ninetails. He also has a Houndoom, Mightyena, and a Midnight form Lycanroc- everyone calls the last three The Pack since they're always together and mostly used for hunting. Ninetails is a beautiful spiteful, grudge-holding terror, but is a cold slow type of anger than Celegorms firey temper. She never forgave Beren for killing Leafeon, and blames him Luthien for Huan's death, so she burnt down most of Doriath herself before her, Celegorm, and the Pack were taken out by arrows.
- Caranthir asked Umbreon to protect Haleth and her kin on their jounrey west. It ended up staying with her until she died of old age and Caranthir let him stay with her people after. He never regretted that decision.
- Caranthir also had a Persian and a Liepard and he spoiled his pokemon the worst out of all the Sons of Feanor. Erestor (who i headcannon as Caranthirs son with Haleth) inherited both pokemon and the help him with duties in Rivendell
- While they were never "his" pokemon, after the Second Kinslaying Maedhros came out of Doriath's woods with two little Phantumps. They followed him everywhere he went and Maedhros always said they were his responsibility even if he didn't claim them. After Maedhros' death, Maglor looked for them but he never found them. He hopes they moved on.
- Back in Valinor, the first weapon that Feanor ever made became possessed by a Honedge. It was a Aegislash by the time Maedhros was born and it was the sword that Feanor waved at Nolofinwe. After Feanor's death Maedhros inherited it, and even after he gave up his crown it refused to follow Nolofinwe causing more stife as many believed that Aegislash only followed the rightful High King of the Noldor. When Maedhros was captured Aegislash stayed behind with Maglor but it never listened to him, always looking out towards Thangorodrim. Maedhros used Aegislash to defend the East and to burn down cities and it never failed him. At the end of the FA, Aegislash allowed himself to be gifted to Elros and be passed down through his descendants to only be partnered with the true Kings of Numenor. He was shattered in the SA by Sauron, and while his blade was broken the spirit inside was dormant until the blade was reforged at the end of the TA and he was wielded by Aragorn when he led the charge against the Black Gate.

Danganronpa Gym Leaders-Part Three
Content under the cut!
Tumblr media
Teruteru Hanamura, Fire Type Gym Leader
Teruteru’s gym would be a restaurant, and you’d have to help serve the patrons, battling them if you gave them the wrong order, before you could fight him. Teruteru would award the player the Chef Badge upon his defeat, and his signature Pokemon is Pyroar.
Tumblr media
Mahiru Koizumi, Bug Type Gym Leader
Mahiru’s gym would be a photo studio, and you’d have to make sure all the models and such were in the right spot for Mahiru’s photos, battling the more stubborn models. Mahiru would award the player the Photo Badge upon her defeat, and her signature Pokemon is Vivillon.
Tumblr media
Peko Pekoyama, Fighting Type Gym Leader
Peko’s gym would be a fencing dojo or something, where you’d have to battle the more experienced swordsmen/women in order to challenge Peko. Peko would award the player the Devotion Badge upon her defeat, and her signature Pokemon is Gallade.
Tumblr media
Ibuki Mioda, Psychic Type Gym Leader
Ibuki’s gym would be basically the same as Roxie’s in B2W2, maybe with more trainers to fight. Ibuki would award the player the Music Badge upon her defeat, and her signature Pokemon is Swoobat.
Tumblr media
Hiyoko Saionji, Grass Type Gym Leader
Hiyoko’s gym would be a dance studio, where you’d have to fight dancers in order to reach her. Hiyoko would award the player the Tradition Badge upon her defeat, and her signature Pokemon is Bellossom.
Tumblr media
Mikan Tsumiki, Poison Type Gym Leader
Mikan’s gym would be a hospital, where you’d have to bring doctors and nurses the correct medicine in order to help their patients. If you got the medicine wrong, you’d have to battle someone who was on standby while the doctor/nurse treated the patient. Mikan would award the player the Health Badge upon her defeat, and her signature Pokemon would be Galarian Weezing.
Tumblr media
Nekomaru Nidai, Flying Type Gym Leader
Nekomaru’s gym would be... a gym. Think Brawly’s gym from ORAS, it’s practically identical to that. Nekomaru would award the player the Teamwork Badge upon his defeat, and his signature Pokemon is Toucannon.
Tumblr media
Gundham Tanaka, Dark Type Gym Leader
Gundham’s gym would be very occultish, but the trainers would all be breeders instead of something more fitting to the theme. Said breeders would, however, speak in a very over-dramatic tone, similar to Gundham himself. Gundham would award the player the Mortality Badge upon his defeat, and his signature Pokemon is Liepard.

what would Ton's pokemon team be?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first character who actually probably played pokemon and probably competitive at that. Ton would use my lanturns, sceptile, and grumpig in doubles but I don't know much about competitive team building so this is more of the vibes, minus the liepard which he would use no matter what cause he decided arbitrarily its his signature pokemon.
Basically he doesn't play to win he plays to make the angry 12 year old with a team of legendaries scream their little head off.

She-Ra/PokĂŠmon AU
Note: While I started this right after season 3, it is VERY incomplete and I'd be super happy about help/suggestions!
PokĂŠmon and She-Ra are my two favorite things ever so of course I had to make a crossover! I wouldn't be me if I hadn't.
In this AU, basically, humans/humanoids just don't exist. They aren't a thing. Everyone on Etheria is a Pokemon, this entire planet only has Pokemon that just evolved to the point where they do the same things humans would do with the only difference being that they are still Pokemon. Maybe it doesn't make too much sense, but we're not here for logic, we're here because Pokemon are great and so is She-Ra.
So without further ado, let me give you the basics:
• All the princesses are eeveelutions. This is because that way they can all be connected, yet separate; also elemental powers are a thing.
▪Adora: Shiny Eevee. She didn't know she was a princess, or that she was special, because nobody ever told her that's not what Eevees look like. It was only when she met Glimmer and Bow, and when she evolved, that she realized.
▪She-Ra is probably some "mash" of all types? I haven't fully figured this one out yet (ideas??) but I've been thinking either Adora evolves into a powerful being, or she evolves into some base-thing like a normal type or sth and can "mega-evolve" by choice into the actual She-Ra. I'm not quite sure on what they should look like though.
▪Glimmer: Espeon, psychic type
▪Perfuma: Leafeon, grass type
▪Mermista: Vaporeon, water type
▪Frosta: Glaceon, ice type
I think these are easy to understand and don't require further explanation, so moving on we have:
▪Spinerella: flying type eeveelution. None of the canon ones fit her, so I figured I'd bend the rules and add some fakemon here. For the sake of this AU we shall pretend that there is an evolution path for every type.
▪Netossa: Jolteon. Hear me out - I know electricity is not her thing, but Electroweb is a move that exists, and it is, in fact, a net. So she's a Jolteon with Electroweb as her signature move! (My friend pointed out that Jolteon might also fit Scorpia since she did acquire electric powers, but I made this AU after season 3 so I had no idea that would happen)
▪Entrapta: Sylveon. While the fairy type might not match her perfectly, I like to imagine her using those ribbons like she uses her hair in the human form! Also an adorable fairy type is a perfect match for Hordak lmao
Which brings us to:
▪Hordak: Mewtwo
Mewtwo is a clone of Mew, created to be the most powerful Pokemon in existence. I'm toying with the idea of having Hordak be unable to use psychic type moves, rendering him practically useless despite being created to be powerful (to represent his defect). I'll see how the defect is handled in the next season, whether it's just Prime's opinion or an actual thing that's wrong with him.
▪Horde Prime: Shiny Mewtwo
My original idea for him, before he was revealed, was Mew, because Mew is what Mewtwo was cloned from. But then we got to see him, and shiny Mewtwo is green, so now oh boy do I have an explanation for this!
Mewtwo was created by humans as a clone of Mew, but improved. It was intended to become the most powerful creature on earth - and they succeeded: Mewtwo was more powerful than they ever dreamed.
But, knowing it was stronger and smarter than any human, it destroyed the lab it was created in, and killed the scientists. That much happens in the canon anime, but let's take it further!
Mewtwo - Horde Prime - figured out how to use the clone machine he was created in, and started cloning himself. Creating an army of clones, until they had enough numbers to wipe out humanity and take over earth for themselves.
And once they were done with that, they moved on to other planets.
Remember how I mentioned humans are just not a thing on Pokemon-Etheria? Hordak is still an alien. He's from earth.
OTHERS
▪Catra: Maybe a Purrloin/Liepard? Looking at all feline Pokemon (she definitely has to be feline), that one fits her most imo. Well, maybe a fluffy Liepard, but still. Then again, please imagine Catra as a Galarian Meowth. You're welcome.
▪Double Trouble: Zoroark! I know Ditto would be funny but Zoroark just fits their personality much better. It's the illusion Pokemon, which is close enough to shapeshifting to work.
▪Since Scorpia is a princess too and I've dug my own grave with the eeveelutions thing, I can't make her a Drapion, even though that's the scorpion Pokemon and would make sense. Jolteon is taken, and I was thinking she might be a normal type? That would explain why she always thought she wasn't special (she's the only one whose type didn't change upon evolution). Of course if I do that, I can't make Adora a normal type. Perhaps Umbreon bc Horde = bad and dark = bad? (I love dark types but it's a common stereotype)
▪As for Bow, I'm undecided as well, although I've been considering Dartrix or Decidueye? Decidueye's signature move uses bow and arrow, also the "wise owl" stereotype would fit nicely with his parents' expectations. I mean, owls are usually used as librarians, right? I'd just prefer Dartrix because of his age.
▪Someone suggested Angella = Cresselia and I really like that!

Blind Shield Nuzlocke Notes 9
-After feeding him an ungodly amount of curry, Snowball evolved into a Frosmoth, boing HV the Toxtricity, Freight the Coalossal, Riot the Falinks, Echo the Obstagoon, and Nosferatu the Dreadnaw on my League team
-Side note, while I was grinding Snowball up to level fifty I swapped my main team for the backups so they wouldn’t get over leveled. Loraine evolves into a Centiscortch and Lord Tophat evolved into a Weezing
-Second side note, I just realized I accidentally used the letter L twice, ruining my naming convention
-On to Wyndon, which is based of one of the largest cities in Europe (the biggest?) and is so big it has a monorail to get around
-Oh god, there’s a guy offering a trade for a duraldon in return for Snowball. I am tempted, but no
-“Prepare to see all the forms of rotom” where’s fridge and fan you liar
-Idea: make a ground type bike rotom catchable next gen
-So an Alcremie almost one shorted Snowball but he held on because he has high affection. Thank god for curry
-“How many companies does Chairman Rose own?” He’s so obviously evil
-Screw What I said about Chirchester, THIS is a fancy hotel
-Ah man, no monorail animation?
-I gotta say, Windon is a bit of a disappointment. It looks amazing, but there isn’t a lot to do, especially when compared to Lumiose or Castelia. I can’t even ride the London Eye!
-“I feel like Challenger Blinkin has a balanced team, but he doesn’t have any way to decisively win” say that to my face bitch
-Hop and Marnie are at the stadium, bet I’ll face them and Bede in the championship
Team going in to the challengers cup, all level 55:
-Freight the Coalossal, caught in Galar Mine. Holding the rocky helmet. Knows Rock Slide, Heat Crash, Bulldoze, and Tar Shot
-Riot the Falinks, caught on South Route 8. Holding the Muscle Band. Knows Brick Break, First Impression, Close Combat, and No Retreat
-Nosferatu the Dreadnaw, caught in Giant’s Cap. Holds the Assault Vest. Knows Liquidation, Rock Slide, Crunch, and Ice Fang
-Echo the Obstagoon, caught on Route 3. Holds the leftovers. Knows Night Slash, Obstruct, Take Down, and Brick Break
-High Voltage the Toxtricity. Gifted on Route 5. Holds the Chiice Scarf. Knows Overdrive, Poison Jab, Boomburst, and Toxic
-Snowball the Frosmoth. Caught on North Route 8. Holds the Shell Bell. Knows Bug Buzz, Aurora Beam, Blizzard, and Quiver Dance
-Only four trainers competed the gym challenge. How interesting considering I have three rivals
-Wait, that means I won’t fight one
-Leading with Snowball because I have a feeling Marnie or Bede will be the first opponent
-And it’s Marnie, not surprising. I assume Hop will be next
-I just got quiver dance literally a minute before this battle (rare candies) and its perfect to take out Marnies dark team
-Also no healing or switch mode I’m deciding
Marnie
-First up is Liepard, predicting a fake out and going for quiver dance
-It used Torment. Gg, Marnie
-Next up is scrafty, dynamaxing to make sure aurora beam takes it out
-Marnie sent out Toxicroak, I did the same thing. should be able to take out all of the troublesome PokĂŠmon before dm runs out
-Out goes her signature, more people, who goes down in one hit
-Marnie sent out grimsnarl as my dm ran out, going for another bug buzz
-And she gyantamaxed and almost killed me with snooze. But I lived
-Full sweep by the new guy
Hop
-And Hop is my opponent in the final. Am I the only competent trainer is this country?
-Predicting Corviknight as his lead, so HV is mine
-I honestly want to lose someone, just because Hop deserves a win
-Oh, he started with Dubwool
-Overdrive, cotton guard, full restore overdrive, overdrive, dubwool dead
-Hop switched to Snorlax. Riot would be better, but I’ll stick with the overdrive strat
-Oh shit almost killed me with high horsepower Riot it is
-And a brick break takes it out
-I think I’m a bit over leveled
-Hop sent out Corviknight, switched to freight, tanked a scary face
-Dynamaxed, took it out with heat crash after tanking a steal wing
-Pincuring barely survived a bulldoze. I took it out afterward, but I won’t have dynamax to take on Rillaboom
-Big monkey used mass quake, it almost killed freight, and somehow took no damage from heat crash
-Switching to Echo to stall the dynamax with obstruct
-Oh dynamax bypasses protect that’s fair
-Whatever, we’re on an even playing field now. Time to use double edge I learned from Beating Marnie
-Used obstruct to get a bit of hp because I was below half, took it out with two night slashed
-Well, he didn’t kill anyone, but he got close, so he should feel proud
-Now to take on Leon
-Or we can get takeout that’s cool too
-The apocalypse is going to happen before I fight Leon, isn’t it
-Fuck off paparazzi
-“Beating Hop was just luck” HAHAHAHAHA
-“Hop was just the rival a knew he was” a bad one
-“Think you can win the finals” Yes I’m the main character
-How does this work, plot wise, if you lose?
-Oh, Leon’s missing. Of course he is
-Leon’s at badguy’s base I was right apocalypse time
-Also, I don’t recall being able to go to rose tower. This implies windon is larger than I thought
-Piers doesn’t want the finals delayed...perhaps because the leaders are fought in the finals!
-That’s How we fight Bede because he’s balloon tower defense’s leader now
-TEAM SKULL ARE MY MINIONS NOW!
-The monorail goes through the Ferris wheel that isn’t safe
-Oh look Oleana is interfering because she’s evil
-Let’s go find the douchebag wearing sunglasses at night so we can mug him
-Okay, this dumb motherfucker decided to hide his sunglasses not by taking them off, but by staring at a goddamn wall
-God I’m over leveled
-Team skull helps me out!
-It took me 20 minutes to find the man in the phone booth
-Piers took our enemies with rock music!
-This tower is hella evil
-Murder elevator tower
-So I started this tower with Snowball out front and they only use steel types so I have to keep switching to Freight
-Also Hop starts with a dubwool the shit man
-Take a chill pill Ole
-Wait, you want to stop me so Leon can’t fight me so he’ll be sad and manipulable? Seriously?
-Frosslass, Salazzle, Milotic? So beauty/feminine pokemon
-Oh shit leg onion almost killed Snowball with acrobatics
-HER FINAL POKÉMON IS A GARBADOR YES!
-And I used my dm on Snowball so I’m taking this thing out with a non dmed HV
-It has boats it’s trash island just like galar
-Nevermind, HV’s almost dead. Switching to Echo
-Tanked two blows, time for night slash
-Ha! It uses toxic spikes!
-It did it again now it’s dead!
-Oh wow hand drawn image
-Leon’s still a good boy! Also disaster in a thousand years what
-Oh, Rose isn’t an evil coal baron. He’s an evil Elon Musk. So normal Elon Musk
-Wait, we aren’t fighting him? He’s...he’s evil! We know he’s evil! His minions tried to kill us five minutes ago!
-Whatever, it’s champion time
-I’ve been here before, Hop. I fought you here
-All of the leaders are in the lockers its rematch time
-Wait, no Bede or Opal
-I have no idea who I’ll be facing. Riot is up front I guess
-Bede’s back bitches!
-Oh shit, Riot is my lead. Wait I have a dark type I’ll be fine
-How did he even get here isn’t there security
Gym Leader Bede
-He’s starting with a Mawhile, Switching up his style
-Oh right Mawhile is a fairy type I should have switched. Whatever, it’s dead now
-I actually don’t have a good counter for gardevoir. Nosferatu cause he has an assault vest I guess.
-Dont use a full restore you little bitch
-Gardevoir down, onto Rapidash. The one that doesn’t explode when it sees a rock water
-This thing is so goddamn girly I love it
-I’m pretty sure it’s psychic, but I don’t know for sure so I’m cautious on switching to Echo
-Ha! Psycho Cut doesn’t affect me!
-Oh shit dazzling gleam. NVMD it did jack shit
-Good News: rapidash is dead. Bad news: my dark type only has 21 hit points
-Switching off Set makes the same so much more difficult I should have done this from the start
-Bede switched to hatterene and gygantamaxed
-OH GOD IT SMITED MY SNOWBALL AND ALMOST KILLED IT
-Okay, back to Nosferatu
-Okay, Nosferatu’s almost dead, back to Echo
-Switching to stall out dynamax is such a bullshit strategy
-Scouted with Obstruct, it used dazzling gleam
-Switching to Freight because she’s my only Pokémon who isn’t poison type or almost dead
-Took next to no damage, now for a max flare to end this
-GG, Bede. I know this is faint praise but that was the toughest rival battle in the game
-Okay, now for the real leaders
-I know I’m not fighting Raihan or Milo cause they’re fighting each other, so I have to worry about Water/Fire/Ghost/Ice/Dark for my first match. Nosferatu is the best for that lineup so he’s leading
-Okay, it’s Nessa. Not great, but I was tempted to go with freight instead of Nosferatu so it could be worse
Nessa
-First is Golispod. Eat rock slide
-It emergency exited to baraskewda, Switching to HV
-OH GOD DRILL RUN NEW PLAN RIOT I GUESS
-You know what? Not saving the dm. Riot flutterbied barraskewda to death
-Oh no, pelliper. Flying types are bad for riot. B: Drizzle
-It tanked a Max knuckle and used tailwind I’m fucked
-Switching back to Nosferatu. Took out pelliper but took a ton of damage. I’d switch, but the next Pokémon is a pelliper and I’m not a coward
-It almost killed by with waterfall but it’s dead now
-That leaves golispod and gm Dreadnaw. I’m going back to riot
-Killed golispod with first impression because irony
-Riots almost dead, but a close combat brought it low. Switching to Echo
-A powerful offensive move that lays stealth rock that’s broken.
-Onstruct to tank, then kill it with night slash
-OH GOD IT OUTSPED ME AND KILLED ECHO WITH LIQUIDATION
-HV barely survived the stealth rock, but Echo can Rest In Peace now
-Accidentally clicked away from the tournament screen, only saw that Piers went on. Going in pretty blind
-Replacing Echo with Warrior the grapploct. I know it’s doubling up on fighting, but it’s the only box Pokémon up to snuff
-Used some tms, current moveset Waterfall, Superpower, Brick Break, Dig
-You know, this tragedy would have been averted if I allowed healing
-Okay, making me fight the Ghost leader right after my Obstagoon dies is a dick move, game
Allister
-Is this a horrible set of working conditions destroying the games industry? CAUSE ITS CRUNCH TIME
-Duskinoir? CRONCH!
-Polteageist? CRONCH!
-Chandelure? Liquidation, actually
-Cursola? DYNAMAX CRONCH!
-Gygantamax Gengar? IRONIC VORR MONSTER CRONCH!
-So yeah, I griffin McElroy’d Allister to death
-Next up is Raihan, then Leon and Rose and box doggo and the ending. But I’ll handle that tomorrow cause it’s 2:30 AM and I got school tomorrow
-I mean, it’s in the afternoon, but I also have homework due at the start of class

DR x Pokemon: Super Dangan Ronpa 2
And here’s the second part of my DR x Pokemon crossover AU, this time with the cast of the second game! These guys were even more fun to design teams for than the first cast. As in the first post, let me know if you strongly disagree or agree with any of them--it is just for fun, but discussion can be fun too!
You can find Part One here!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lots of super common ‘mons here. Sorry Hajime, but it fits with your normalcy, complex about said normalcy, and inability to pay the Reserve Course fees (you can’t afford to catch anything good). The two exceptions are Eevee, which is also Normal but has lots of potential, like he does; and Larvesta, which is weak but will become a god-like entity if you can evolve it. Hmm, does that sound familiar to anyone...?
...also sun imagery goes really well with Hajime’s full name meaning “to face a new day”. I just couldn’t pass that by.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All his Pokemon are shiny. Because of course they are.
Ultimate Lucky student = Unfezant. Granbull is a reference to the dog he used to own. Garbodor is because he thinks of himself as trash. Delibird and Clefable both have luck-based moves (Present and Metronome). M-Ampharos is because he wants to help hope shine brightly...and it has fluffy white hair.
Additionally, some of his Pokemon have accuracy problems and so need his luck to help land hits—Delibird has the ability Hustle, Clefable has Sing, M-Ampharos has Zap Cannon, etc.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Search your feelings. You know it to be true.
Real talk, the reason he only has Dittos instead of Mimikyu or Zoroark is because those two pretend with disguises and illusions; Ditto pretends by actually turning into whoever it’s copying.
On a happy note, he can tell his Dittos all apart, always.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His three dragon types are references to his family name (nine-headed dragon). I did consider giving him three Hydreigons to make the pun complete, but it doesn’t really fit him. As for why these specifically, Haxorus is awesome, Dralage’s ambushes and ship attacks have criminal vibes, and Goodra represents his inner soft side. Honchkrow is based off a mafia boss, which I know isn’t yakuza but still carries the same connotations. Krookodile and Mightyena are more underworld type ‘mons.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I find it abhorrent that we have like 800 Pokemon and not a single one is hamster-based. Togedemaru comes closest, having four of them is obviously meant to reflect the Four Dark Devas. Greninja looks like him, just look at the scarf. M-Houndoom is a literal hellhound, nothing fits his ‘ruler of hell’ shtick better.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The three monkeys help him with cooking. Miltank provides milk (and jokes, I’m sure), Tropius fruit, and Lickilicky is because of his perverse nature.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hitmontop and Emboar are both Fighting types, with Emboar in particular referencing his BURNING SPIRIT. Passimian is based off football, which as a team manager he surely has experience with. He’s got Zebstrika because lightning flies out of his eyes, and Bastiodon because Mechamaru. Skuntank farts when sent out, referencing his toilet humor.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wimpod is a coward, like him. M-Sharpedo is there because of his shark teeth. Klinklang is literally a bunch of gears and he’s a mechanic. Machoke, Ambipom, and Donphan all help him in the workshop—Machoke isn’t fully evolved because he just wants help with heavy labor, and doesn’t have anything near Sakura’s martial arts training.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She shares Porygon-Z with Chihiro because she’s an AI. Komala is because of her sleepyhead nature. Crobat and Delcatty reference her hoodie and backpack. Sylveon is a major ‘power of friendship/love/hope’ Pokemon. Azumarill references her relation with Usami--though I admit, I went back and forth between it and a shiny (pink) Lopunny for ages. Ultimately, Azumarill’s Fairy type and matching Usami’s round body won out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I had only three things in mind: fighting types because she loves to battle strong opponents, fire types because she’s a hothead, and Acrobatics because she’s a Gymnast even if she doesn’t care for it. In fact, her entire team except Hitmonlee can learn Acrobatics, and Hitmonlee is apparently partially based off acrobats anyway.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Half her team are dance-based to help with her performances, like Sayaka. The other half references her bullying and general nature. Liepard is called the ‘Cruel’ Pokemon, Toxapex looks cute but is highly poisonous, and Heatmor represents her ant-squishing. Froslass gets special mention for representing both halves--it’s a dancer (and it even wears a kimono!) and is known to be pretty cruel too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hoooo boy Mahiru gave me a hard time. We have no photography Pokemon and she doesn’t have any screaming standout quirks. So I went off her desire to make people smile. Sunflora, Ribombee, Jumpluff, and Ludicolo all seem like they’d help in that field. Drampa is pretty gentle with kids, so I think it’d be good for entertaining them and setting up shots. M-Kanghaskan likes taking care of others, referencing how Mahiru is the ‘team mom’.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like Leon, she has an Exploud for sound amplification; in fact, all her first three are very much noise-based Pokémon, a lot louder than Sayaka’s gentle singers. Shiftry is a reference to her long nose sprite. Magmortar can make a dramatic entrance with smoke and create pyrotechnics, like in DR3. Finally, she has M-Manectric to help with light shows and because she finds it electrifying.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Samurott is a samurai, Farfetch’d uses a sword-like weapon, Seviper uses its tail as a sword, and Aegislash is literally a blade. Skarmory’s feathers were used as swords in the past. Whimsicott satisfies her love for fluffy things, and was a present from Fuyuhiko against his family’s orders (they wanted her team to only reflect her being a ‘tool’).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Blissey and Audino are the two Pokemon that immediately leap to mind when you think ‘healer’. Alomomola and Florges also make good ‘clerics’; Almomola has Healer and learns ‘Wish’, while Florges gets both ‘Wish’ and Aromatherapy. Wishiwashi and M-Banette represent her yandere side; Wishiwashi is a crying, timid thing, but becomes so terrifying in School Mode that Gyarados run from it. Meanwhile, Banette wants to inflict pain on the person who threw it away, and Mikan has lot of pent-up anger towards her bullies.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Persian and Serperior for the same reasons as Byakuya. Her ghost-type represents her liking for the occult. She has a Scizor (not Mega, though) because her admiration for serial killers translates to borrowing the signature ‘mon of the most notable one. Escavalier is her knight. And finally, as the princess of a military nation, I think she’d easily have some powerful dragon-type, and Charizard-X’s aesthetic looks like something she’d like.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
AKA ‘stop having fun guys’. Tangrowth matches his hair :P The next four are all hard to raise pseudo-legendaries, befitting his Ultimate Everything. Volcarona is the same one Hajime had, and has multiple meanings for Izuru too: it was also considered a ‘savior’ (aka a hope) in ancient Pokemon times, and while he only kept it because he didn’t care to switch it, he still has it, representing how there’s a little bit of Hajime left in him. Speaking of, Volcarona was mind-wiped too, and the rest of Hajime’s team were disposed of by the Steering Committee :(
Finally, over half his team is capable of Mega Evolution; they just can’t, because that requires a strong bond between trainer and Pokemon, and Izuru lacks that. I also came pretty close to giving him Nihilego (for their shared apathy), but it’s an Ultra Beast, so it doesn’t really count.
Credit to @oceanairwonderland for Izuru’s sprite!

So I got into a conversation with a bunch of other Voltron fans and we came up with pokemon for Team Voltron, Team Sincline, Zarkon, Haggar, and the original paladins. Kept it to two per person for sanity’s sake.
Lance: Primarina & Milotic (shiny)
Both feebas and popplio got kinda dumped on (feebas in-universe, popplio before their other evolutions were revealed) and the shiny milotic, I will not lie, is inspired straight from a comic that I thought did a good job of capturing Lance as a person. One of my friends aired the idea of Lance being involved in pokemon contests.
You bet your butt they’re the best-groomed pokes you have ever laid your eyes on. Knock knock the gorgeous squad has arrived.
(Honorable mention: a gyrados that Lance evolved himself, because he’s that kinda supportive person who’d stick it out with a magikarp)
Keith: Talonflame & Absol
Absol would probably be his signature pokemon even if it’s not his “type”- it’s a prophet able to predict danger, but also described as reclusive and misunderstood since it wants to protect people but is often blamed for misfortune- much like Keith internalizes a lot of his isolation as being his own fault.
Talonflame is light, portable, and can explore wide open places scouting around, suitable for Keith’s love of the outdoors. Also, giving Keith a part flying type reflects a bit of his relationship with Shiro, the Sky Paladin- maybe that Fletchling was a gift?
Shiro: Skarmory & Mightyena
As both the Paladin of the Sky and someone who is marked in part by his incredible determination and resilience in the face of adversity, Skarmory’s steel/flying type makes perfect sense, as well as being a real cool pokemon for a real cool guy.
Mightyena fits with his colors, but more with his ideals, as a pack hunter with a powerful sense of loyalty- Shiro is someone very conscious and empathetic to the team. And pairing Shiro with a dark type (especially one that in the gen it was introduced, was the staple of the villain teams) reflects the other side of his determination- that he isn’t afraid to act in the guise of a “bad guy” to protect said team. He also tends to try and see the good in shady-seeming allies, like his sincerity towards Rolo and Ulaz- and even a bit of his connection with Keith.
Pidge: Rotom & Phantump
Rotom is a shoe-in given Pidge’s technological focus, especially if we’re assuming they’d have a device like the Rotomdex that lets them communicate with Pidge- a level of connection with technology and pokemon alike that’s not always common or intuitive.
Phantump, out of all of the potential grass types, stuck out to me because Phantumps are the spirits of lost children- and while Pidge’s family was taken from her more than she was from them, I think it’s something she’d relate to as a lost child herself, feeling a little lonely and bereft. Phantump’s fearsome evolution also suggests towards how Pidge is growing up and turning very dangerous to cross- she’s not going to let people just walk all over her family. So- lonely child, turning fearsome guardian of the forest. “Haxus is dead and you’re next.”
(Honorable mention: Porygon because Pidge is an enthusiast of classic sixteen-bit graphics after all)
Hunk: Aggron & Bastiodon
Certain ‘dex entries describe Aggron as a creature that landscapes its territory by planting trees, suggesting a nurturing side to what is also a highly dangerous steel-coated dinosaur.
That combined with Bastiodon being a fossil pokemon suggesting Hunk would have had to have nursed it back to life, I think both do a good job reflecting both Hunk’s formidable combat capabilities and the warm, nurturing way he relates to his allies. He’s a stone wall that you’re not going to shove around very easily. I’d imagine both of his pokemon as very gentle-tempered creatures, much like Hunk himself, but not to be crossed.
Allura: Audino & Xerneas
When Allura’s powers seem overwhelmingly geared to fortify and renew, it stands to reason she seems both divinely inspired and ludicrously powerful- hence pairing her with the life-focused legendary Xerneas.
Audino is a healer, and capable of mega-evolution- like Allura, a creature more concerned with preservation but utterly unafraid to get in there and take some names.
Coran: Kricketune & Probopass
Mustache, he’s full of sass, his team can still kick your ass.
No, really, Probopass’s rock/steel typing is a nice nod to Coran’s resilience of spirit and his technical stripes and giving him a couple of goofy-looking yet still genuinely strong pokemon is right up Coran’s alley.
Zarkon: Hydregion & Tyranitar
Hydregion is a massive, fearsome, and highly aggressive dragon type. The shape of its wings has a passing resemblance to the wing spokes on Zarkon’s armor. It also evolves from the well-meaning-if-bitey Deino, getting increasingly dangerous through its second and then final evolution- which nicely reflects how Zarkon was a prickly elitist to start but pretty much got worse and worse.
It and Tyranitar are both pseudo-legendaries and Tyranitar can mega-evolve, reflecting nicely that Zarkon is both a very scary person to cross and that he’s probably not really the type for a lot of real dedicated pokemon strategy as much as brutalizing would-be enemies with devastating force.
Haggar: Nihilego & Darkrai
Yveltal is not necessarily part of her actual fighting team, but she totally uses it as part of the Komar- which would possibly imply in this AU, Yveltal is rescued and taken into custody by the Blade of Marmora.
As far as the two she does use- while Haggar’s perfectly capable of leveling people in direct combat, she much prefers to fight like a living nightmare. Nihilego being able to control others, as well as its extradimensional nature as an Ultra Beast nicely reflect Haggar’s history as a scientist who researched other realities and was fascinated by the rift creature- heck, in this AU Nihilego may be one of the rift creatures that stuck around.
And Darkrai is a literal master of nightmares. Haggar’s propensity to root around in and manipulate others by using fear and deception is nicely represented here.
Lotor: Sylveon (shiny) & Silvally
Lotor’s keen sense of what it means to inspire true loyalty means he’d pick his team out of creatures he’d have a very intimate bond with- so he has two pokemon that only evolve with high friendship. That Silvally’s type-switching ability is massively effective with the sort of study-opponent-and-then-hit-them-precisely-where-it-hurts strategy Lotor uses would probably just be icing on the cake.
And, yeah, Silvally (or rather, Type:Null) totally exists in the first place in this AU because thanks, Haggar.
Sylveon being a pure fairy type, would have obvious type advantages to both Zarkon’s hydregion and Haggar’s darkrai- but also, as an empathetic pokemon highly loyal to its trainer, I imagine it’s done a lot to help him keep his head together. And its not-so-kindly Sun and Moon pokedex entries would mean that, as a clever and deceptive predator, it could more than pull its weight as his ally.
Narti: Liepard & Hypno
Narti’s manipulation appears to read much more like sleepwalking than nightmares- the host’s amnesia and trancelike calm, for example, so using a Hypno as her pokemon works just fine.
You might wonder how exactly Kova feels about the liepard, to which, I reply: Kova is the Liepard. In this AU, Narti’s connection with Kova would probably extend to her entire team, allowing her to direct and coordinate with her pokemon instantaneously.
Ezor: Kecleon & Salazzle
Kecleon being able to pull a disappearing act itself means that she could carry at least half of her team covertly with her while sneaking around, and Salazzle, being a poison type, also lends well to Ezor’s inclinations as an assassin-like ambush fighter.
Also, with Ezor being pretty reptilian herself, I can see her favoring similar pokemon.
Zethrid: Incineroar & Pangoro
This started purely because I saw multiple people say that Keith should have a Litten because fiery darkness cat, in complete ignorance of the fact that Litten grows up to be a wrestler tiger, which is the exact opposite of a thing Keith would be cool with. Zethrid, though.
She probably trains her pokemon by personally sparring against them.
Acxa: Gallade & Houndoom
Acxa’s knightly sense of honor and her fierce loyalty reflect well in both Gallade and Houndoom, given the latter’s a pack hunter. Also given her various meaningful clashes with Keith, her Houndoom could probably meet his Absol blow for blow.
Both her pokemon, like Acxa herself, are light on their feet and agile attackers.
Alfor: Solgaleo & Pyroar
You were probably expecting to see Solgaleo a lot higher on this list, but I wanted to give Allura and Haggar opposing legendaries and someone rightfully pointed out Lunaala doesn’t deserve that.
Also, as the original paladin of the Red Lion, and the original architect of Voltron, he’s the Fiery Lions guy.
Blaytz: Garchomp & Mantine
I won’t lie to you this is 99% because Blaytz is a shark-manta man, but, he’d be pretty limited to water types since he appears to hail from an oceanic planet himself.
I imagine him cruising around on Mantine’s back in more peaceful times.
Trigel: Tsarina & Cradily
Unlike Hunk, I imagine Trigel having a fossil pokemon because she was actually alive at the same time they were.
Tsarina is mostly there because as little as we saw of Trigel, it definitely seems like she had an edge to her and could veer harsh with her joking around.
Gyrgan: Chesnaught & Camerupt
Big, powerful tanks- a fighting type considering Gyrgan was seemingly an unarmed brawler when we see him and the other original paladins rescuing Alfor, and Camerupt because of the very camel-like beasts of burden we see in our brief glimpse of Rygnirath.

Yugioh Pokemon Trainer AU- Anzu and Mai
Anzu is Yugi’s childhood friend and his first crush. She however was convinced she was in love with a celebrity, Atem Sennen. Now, years later, she realizes that she missed her chance with the best guy she’s ever know but has come to terms with it. She is Yugi and Atem’s number one supporter and is honored to be able to call them friends.
She became a Coordinater along side Yugi and helps him train. They are best friends forever but on stage forever rivals. The loser has to buy the other lunch (Yugi always buys though because he’s nice).
Her Team is:
Meganium: It uses its aromatheropy to heal its friends and is a kind and gentle soul. Don’t be fooled though. It will attack if you are a threat to those it cares for, so watch out.
Lopunny: A graceful dancer with a powerful kick. Evolves with friendship.
Beautifly: She had caught it by accident and was a bit creeped out by the bug until it evolved. It never stopped her from loving it though. It just took some getting used to.
Pyroar: She went out of her way to find one because it was one of Atem’s signature pokemon. She’s the queen of the team and everyone else’s mom. Her and Atem’s Pyroar seem to get along...
Sylveon: Her signature pokemon. The little pixie cat is great at dancing and loves the spotlight. Anzu has a matching kimono she got in Johto that she sometimes wears in contests.
Vulpix (Alola): She hatched it from an egg she got as a gift from Yugi. It’s name is Snowflake and it is loved. She pampers it and it can always be seen walking around with her.
Mai is Yugi’s cousin and she will stab a bitch if they talk smack about him (Ushio can confirm). She partakes in both gym battles and contests and has made a name for herself in both. She and Atem have known each other for year and, yes, she has thretened to murder him if he breaks Yugi’s heart.
She was, at one point, a member of Atem’s Elite Four but stepped down at the same time he did for reasons of her own. She meets up with everyone ever so often. She and Atem are also poker buddies.
Her Team:
Hawlucha x3: The Hawlucha Sisters are her signatures. They are the most wildly know of her pokemon and often mistaken as her only pokemon. The eldest sister is shiny.
Noivern: An unexpected powerhouse of her team. It’s quick and deadly and hardly ever misses. Is a wyvern just like Harpies Pet Dragon.
Liepard: The most cunning of the classy cats. It looks like royalty but will cut you down without a second’s thought.
Roserade: Mai is probably assosiated with roses just as much a Atem is so it would make since for her to have one too.

Here’s a Thought™ for everyone: Pokemon AU with Lotor as the Champion and his generals as the Elite Four, yes or yes?
Lotor: the undisputed Champion with a natural talent for battles.  He doesn’t have one specific type he trains so his team is the most balanced.  His teams a combination of refined elegance and dangerous blades.
Gallade (his signature Pokemon)
Bisharp
Lurantis
Noivern
Milotic
Garchomp
Acxa: She specializes in Fire types and is a master strategist.  Type weakness don’t matter much when fighting her, she’s that good.
Ninetales
Rapidash
Houndoom
Talonflame
Heatmor
Salazzle (her signature Pokemon)
Ezor: The most chill of all the Elites she doesn’t take her post very seriously and is a firm believer in the idea that Pokemon Battles should be fun.  Despite favoring Fighting types, she also prefers speed over strentght and her Pokemon dance around as much as she does, which makes hitting them tricky.

Liepard (her signature Pokemon)
