If yer not Black keep any variation of woke out ya mouth. It's a term used for discussing Black people being aware of the systematic oppression we face.
Just cause you saw conservatives being antiblack and mangling and misusing it doesn't mean that you get to be antiblack and mock and misuse the term. Not even if yer making fun of conservatives misusing woke b/c guess what? Yer still being fucking antiblack.
"But I saw some Black people making fun of woke so--" Have you considered that conservative and antiblack Black people exist, shit for brains?
Shut the fuck up and drop woke from your fucking vocabulary.

“Professional” white women have disrespected Angel Reese and told her to “shrink don’t shine” ever since she was in high school
“I was sleeping when she came into my bedroom at about 11:30, and she was really upset,” her mother, also Angel Reese, recalled. “Then she showed me why.”
The 17-year-old Reese had become unnerved after seeing comments about her on a social media post.
Overtime women’s basketball Instagram page had posted a video clip praising Reese on Tuesday. But that post prompted the user of the Instagram account of an opposing coach to send a direct message to the Overtime WBB page, criticizing Reese and claiming her success was because she was “genetically blessed.”
Chloe Pavlech, who curates much of the Overtime women’s basketball content, was going through the messages when she discovered the message:
“Celebrating a player (w god given height and talent) and zero humility or impulse control. As a female coach of female high school ballers, I find this behavior repulsive, unacceptable, unflattering and unnecessary. You can have swag while not acting like a punk. Highlight some other girls in the conference who aren’t as genetically gifted …”
Pavlech found a second direct message from the coach’s account in response to a different video in December celebrating Reese:
“She’s not the greatest player that’s ever come out of this area. She’s genetically blessed. And lacks any humility. Guess you haven’t watched the film of her…”
not acting like a punk.
Guess you haven’t watched the film of her…”
The area that was whited out (by Pavlech) is the coach referencing a fight that Reese was involved in during a scrimmage last season against a non-league opponent, an altercation that earned her a three-game suspension.
“Angel had to apologize in front of the student body, and she’s played this year knowing if anything else happened she’d be off the team for the year,” her mother said. “People come at her, but she plays at a college level against high school girls. When she steps on the court she doesn’t hold back. She’s going to go at you until you sit down.”
Pavlech took a screenshot of both messages from the coach and posted them on her personal Overtime Instagram page (that post, as seen above, has since been removed). Pavlech included her own message at the top of her Tuesday post: “Why do women try to tear down young girls?”
“I was shocked that an adult — especially a coach — would be talking about a young girl in that manner,” Pavlech said. “The context of those remarks was also surprising; she was DMing in response to a very positive video Overtime WBB had posted about one of the country’s most gifted young talents.”
The direct messages came from the Instagram account of Lisa Smith, who, as of Thursday morning, was listed as the head coach of Archbishop Spalding High School girls basketball team. Later Thursday, Smith’s name had been removed from the site, with athletic director Jeffrey Parsons now listed as the current head coach of the girls team.

Gaza isn't even real, you idiots! I can't believe you fell for the political propaganda that Arabs are people. Now Arab Americans, who are 7 million voting Americans, by the way, are celebrating on a New Jersey rooftop because they ruined your country again! Haha!!
Anyway, keep Palestine's name out of your racist fucking pro-genocidal mouth. I know you didn't care about the genocide leading up to the election. I KNOW you want to use it as an excuse to care even less now. "Wahhh society is bad! Quick! Blame the minorities!"
Palestine is not propaganda. That genocide is real and it is ongoing. You do not care. I know this. We all know this. You didn't lose because of it. You lost because Americans voted FOR Trump. The Americans who see a perceived benefit to voting for Trump. But you'll never fucking learn a thing. So instead, you made this idiotic post claiming that Palestine isn't real or something.
I was a student at UC Berkeley during the 2000 presidential election. The propaganda at that time was that Al Gore and George W. Bush were exactly the same candidate wearing different ties. There was no difference between them, so you should vote for Ralph Nader.
In 2016 the propaganda was Bernie Bros—and going both ways ("Hillary is an establishment candidate! You're not a real liberal if you don't vote for Bernie!" and also "Bernie will never win! If you EVER supported Bernie you're not a real liberal!").
This time the propaganda was Gaza. "How can you vote for a candidate that is a part of an administration responsible for GENOCIDE?!"
The thing with propaganda is it's always true—kind of. You can go right down the list and see the truth in all of these things:
Both Al Gore and George W. Bush were establishment candidates. Al Gore was the sitting vice president and a career politician and George W. Bush was the son of former president and vice president George Bush, who himself was vice president to Ronald Reagan.
HIllary Clinton was an establishment politican, the wife of a former president, and the sitting secretary of state. Bernie Sanders didn't have the party support to become the Democratic Party candidate on account of his history of independence.
Biden and Harris were in office during the Hamas attack on October 7th, 2023, and the US government has offered continued support to Israel in its couteroffensive.
Those things are true. But the true things were being used to distract the distractible from other arguably more important true things, e.g. that Al Gore's actual policies were more liberal than George W. Bush's; Hillary Clinton's policies were more liberal than Donald Trump's; and a Kamala Harris-led government was going to be better for Palestine than a Donald Trump-led government.
The goal with the propaganda each time was exaclty the same. It wasn't to get votes for a third party candidate or change policy or help Gaza.
The goal was to get liberals not to vote.
And it worked. Every time.
It'll work again, too, if we don't teach voters how to recognize this. It's pretty obvious though. If it's near an election and it's a wedge issue between liberal voters and ultra-liberal voters, that's the propaganda.
And it is 100% active and alive here on Tumblr.
#blame the minorities#stop using muslim women as political props#how do you dumb ass americans think there were enough single issue gaza voters to sway the election#you lost because other americans are also virulently xenophobic and racist.#i'm sure you can identify with that even if you won't admit it#us politics#liberal racism#genocide apologism

College-educated white liberals are the biggest upholders of the two-party system. You're the ones paving the way for Trump every time because you refuse to learn the lesson.
Listen up Libs: Your feelings of fear, your distress for having to care about politics for the next 4 years instead of every 4 years, are not co-equal to the material suffering of real people under the Democratic Party and the two party system. Nor does anyone buy the smoke n mirrors about Project 2025, and your theoretical "gay trans friend in Alabama who need abortion" or whatever.
Every voter who is not your ilk can sense your bullshit. Don't like it, progressives? Then stop centering your feelings and learn the fucking lesson.

Yesterday was the first reading of the Treaty Principles Bill and it passed. It is one of the most disgusting pieces of legislation to ever be introduced, it is racist and another act of colonial violence.
Hana-Rawhiti Maipi-Clarke, is the youngest MP since 1853 in Aotearoa's parliament, she is from Te Pāti Māori (Māori party) and is the MP for the Hauraki-Waikato electorate. Know her name, she has faced so much discrimination and violence especially since campaigning and continues to lead with power. She ripped up this disgusting bill and started a haka. The House was suspended after.
This is what the haka is. This is why us Māori do it.
I am so glad we have an opposition with a proud young wahine Māori like her. That we have a whole opposition who STOOD up in solidarity with Māori or who joined in this haka, MPs from Labour, Green, and Te Pāti Māori joined in.
Other MPs were kicked out, a very senior politician here, Willie Jackson was kicked out for rightly so calling Seymour a liar. And this haka is being called inappropriate by the right. It is not. You can't call the haka inappropriate only when it has brown bodies doing it as an act against colonial violence.
Fuck Seymour and as Rawiri Waititi said, see you next Tuesday. Ake ake ake!

Oh is this related to how if a person of color points out a racist behavior then the previously seemingly allying white person will first feel guilt, then anger, then will retaliate?
I never want to be that person, I will be on the lookout for these things and if it comes up and is wanted of me be the one to bite that bullet and see if that retaliation also happens to white people who do that. (It won't.)
This article is from 2022, but it came up in the context of Palestine:
Here are some striking passages, relevant to all colonial aftermaths but certainly also to the forms we see Zionist reaction taking at the moment:
Over the decade I lived in South Africa, I became fascinated by this white minority [i.e. the whole white population post-apartheid as a minority in the country], particularly its members who considered themselves progressive. They reminded me of my liberal peers in America, who had an apparently self-assured enthusiasm about the coming of a so-called majority-minority nation. As with white South Africans who had celebrated the end of apartheid, their enthusiasm often belied, just beneath the surface, a striking degree of fear, bewilderment, disillusionment, and dread.
[...]
Yet these progressives’ response to the end of apartheid was ambivalent. Contemplating South Africa after apartheid, an Economist correspondent observed that “the lives of many whites exude sadness.” The phenomenon perplexed him. In so many ways, white life remained more or less untouched, or had even improved. Despite apartheid’s horrors—and the regime’s violence against those who worked to dismantle it—the ANC encouraged an attitude of forgiveness. It left statues of Afrikaner heroes standing and helped institute the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, which granted amnesty to some perpetrators of apartheid-era political crimes.
But as time wore on, even wealthy white South Africans began to radiate a degree of fear and frustration that did not match any simple economic analysis of their situation. A startling number of formerly anti-apartheid white people began to voice bitter criticisms of post-apartheid society. An Afrikaner poet who did prison time under apartheid for aiding the Black-liberation cause wrote an essay denouncing the new Black-led country as “a sewer of betrayed expectations and thievery, fear and unbridled greed.”
What accounted for this disillusionment? Many white South Africans told me that Black forgiveness felt like a slap on the face. By not acting toward you as you acted toward us, we’re showing you up, white South Africans seemed to hear. You’ll owe us a debt of gratitude forever.
The article goes on to discuss:
"Mau Mau anxiety," or the fear among whites of violent repercussions, and how this shows up in reported vs confirmed crime stats - possibly to the point of false memories of home invasion
A sense of irrelevance and alienation among this white population, leading to another anxiety: "do we still belong here?"
The sublimation of this anxiety into self-identification as a marginalized minority group, featuring such incredible statements as "I wanted to fight for Afrikaners, but I came to think of myself as a ‘liberal internationalist,’ not a white racist...I found such inspiration from the struggles of the Catalonians and the Basques. Even Tibet" and "[Martin Luther] King [Jr.] also fought for a people without much political representation … That’s why I consider him one of my most important forebears and heroes,” from a self-declared liberal environmentalist who also thinks Afrikaaners should take back government control because they are "naturally good" at governance
Some discussion of the dynamics underlying these reactions, particularly the fact that "admitting past sins seem[ed] to become harder even as they receded into history," and US parallels
And finally, in closing:
The Afrikaner journalist Rian Malan, who opposed apartheid, has written that, by most measures, its aftermath went better than almost any white person could have imagined. But, as with most white progressives, his experience of post-1994 South Africa has been complicated. [...]
He just couldn’t forgive Black people for forgiving him. Paradoxically, being left undisturbed served as an ever-present reminder of his guilt, of how wrongly he had treated his maid and other Black people under apartheid. “The Bible was right about a thing or two,” he wrote. “It is infinitely worse to receive than to give, especially if … the gift is mercy.”

you don't have to answer this ask, this is just a shameless drop https://reddit.com/r/transgender/s/4fVGeHiXbu as expected, comments are abhorrent
(part 1, for context)
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is an author born in Nigeria who wrote plenty of widely influential books and articles about her home country, racism and feminism. Here is her Ted Talk on feminism, which has received 8.1 million views. She is also active for the rights of homosexual and bisexual people in Nigeria. So, what are her crimes?
(source)
So then she does an interview with the Guardian, where she is just somewhat baffled by the behaviour of Western feminists. Of course, the person interviewing her does not engage with her arguments, but is just outraged that she dares to make the arguments in the first place. The entire article contains like three of her sentences, and the rest is the author just putting words in her mouth.
Then Pink News makes an article about the article in the Guardian, which is an entire dumpster fire. But the sentence that enraged me the most is this:
"she remains rigid" is the only critique that this entire godforsaken article is able to articulate. Yeah. Of course she remains rigid. Because she had not had any reason to change her mind. Accusing a woman not of making a false argument, but just of being "rigid" in their beliefs (when these beliefs have not been refuted) is the absolute worst. Adichie comes from a country where 43 percent of girls are married before the age of 18. Do these people really think that Adichie stop arguing for her opinions because some western liberals tell her to?
I really think that this entire "controversy" is so exemplary for how white western feminists entirely miss the mark when interacting with feminists from other parts of the world. When I tried to explain the transgender debate to my friends who are still living in Latin America, they refused to believe that it actually was a thing because it was so absurd. What we call "radical feminism" in the west is just called "feminism" in other regions of the globe. (also, note that the woman who wrote the article for the Guardian as well as the woman who wrote the article for Pink News are both white lmao)
Here's part two where we're gonna look at the comments these brilliant redditors made in the r/transgender subreddit.

But also just the absolute selfishness and intentional ignorance to go on a post telling people that making light of hate speech not being something to joke about since, ya know, it kills people and joking about shit that affects people makes those people not like or trust you just to declare why you're gonna do what the op is saying you shouldn't b/c shit doesn't affect you.
Just why do bigots feel the need to tell everyone how much they don't give a singular shit about anyone who isn't them? Especially the 'I'm doing the bigoted thing to clown on other bigots' type bigots like... the lack of self-reflection hot damn.

BREAKING NEWS: The Biden administration announced a new policy that could disqualify most migrants from being able to seek asylum at the southern U.S. border.
A tough new immigration measure could disqualify the vast majority of migrants from being able to seek asylum at the southern border. (source)
↳The Biden administration rolled out a proposal on Tuesday that would bar migrants from seeking asylum if they attempt to cross the southwest border illegally without first asking for protection in a country they traveled through.
Why it matters: It's the latest in a string of new policy moves by the Biden administration to deter migrants and asylum seekers from illegally crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.
[SN: The negative connotation associated with the framing, “illegally crossing the border,” is intentionally misleading and disingenuous - Seeking asylum is a human right protected under our laws, and doing so in person is NOT illegal]
This proposal — which after 30 days allowing for public comments would be in effect for two years — echoes a controversial immigration policy under former President Trump.
The Biden administration proposal cites the government's "anticipation of a potential surge of migration at the southwest border" after the end of pandemic border policies, expected in May.
It is expected to severely restrict access to the asylum process, allowing for easier deportations for some migrants seeking protection in the U.S.

meaningful work: transgender experience in the sex trade
#transmisogyny#misogynoir#transmisogynoir#these statistics dont paint the entire picture theres a lot more in the paper#for example trans men report higher rates of suicidality (likely due to transphobia specifically but could also be selection bias)#but overall it paints a surprisingly clear picture of transmisogyny along with misogynoir and other forms of racism intersecting with#misogyny. worth taking a look at#the sec trade really elucidates transmisogyny in so many ways#also i will say the paper seems v liberal in some ways but that doesn't change the statistics#anyway tags over byeeeee

A good example of leftwing racism: Anything that enough middle class white ladies/white lgbtq people find alienating is "white supremacy".
Conflating all marriages and families with the WASP, bourgeois christian nationalist nuclear family unit you as a white lady were pressured into just proves you don't know POC at all.
