✰ ◞ WHO LET HIM COOK? nina never thought she could have this many regrets ( ft. @lgcbk ).

ordinarily, being awarded a joint dj timeslot for something as tumultuous ( read— corny ) as prom wouldn't be forgettable to nina. she's always been an orderly girl, the kind of person to catalog and keep on schedule. while she ordinarily had chances to play and perform around campus, tonight would undoubtedly be more extensive than her usual.

procuring a date for the night had flustered her timely brain far more than she'd ever like to admit. she's already winded despite the night still being young, piers of all varieties dancing to the lackluster playlist the school-hired dj had started everything off with, and ninas more than ready to change things up.

bk is already seemingly beginning to set up, their allotted slow of time ticking closer and closer with each boom of the base. "hey—" she calls out to him, voice louder than normal as to be heard over the noise. "—sorry, i meant to get up here sooner to help but . . . i was busy." that's all she'll say. "anything still need setting up or are we ready to go?"

I've left whatever Joker did in the Bloodlust au up to interpretation, but I didn't think about how the Joker confrontation would go in the loser au!

Because the loser au is the silliest of the LGCU's I think I would just be something like giving Jason a bad grade or making the class intentionally hard on Jason, and being the perfectionist he is this makes Jason freak out.

Eddie and Grant briefly hold a truce where they take up arms against a common enemy, for Jason's sake. Eddie helps Jason finds loopholes in Mr. Napier's impossible assignments, while Grant turns all the schemes he was cooking up against the Titans onto him. Raw garlic in his coffee, the printer is always out of ink when he goes to use it, rumors are circulating around the students about him being a creep while rumors that he's actually having an affair with Mr. Wayne and losing his mistress is making him lash out against unwitting students circle through the staff.

This all culminates in Dr. Quinzel (Special Educator) filing for a divorce very publicly in the school faculty room, and when he tries to retaliate violently, he loses his job and is promptly arrested. And they never hear from him again.

Jason, seeing a golden opportunity to keep his boys from getting at each other's throats, enlists their help on a new mission: Playing matchmaker for Dr. Quinzel and Dr. Isley.

to commemorate lgc’s fourth anniversary, we are bringing back lgc university! for the muns who were not present during last year’s run of the anniversary event, this is an alternate universe ( au ) storyline in which all of the lgc muses are now students of lgc university! in the first iteration of this, all of the muses had to take several tests ( and even a final exam with DBSD’s daehyun as the proctor ) and pass in order to complete the term.

now in this alternate universe, it’s summertime and some people could associate it with summer camps and all, but in lgc university this is the time when they host their yearly house tournament and prom night!

  question after question after question. seyoon usually doesn’t ask, and rowon usually doesn’t tell. it’s not so much the inquiries that irk him though, but rather, the accusatory tone that drips from the speculations. as if he’s done something wrong. as if he’s done something bad. but what has he done, really? nothing anyone can prove.

  his gaze falls upon the pair of tweezers in seyoon’s possession. it’s an odd thing to have on hand, especially while seated on top of another – unless, of course, seyoon was doing him a special favour. rowon’s lips twitch. “he’s still in recovery,” he says, eyes trailing to robin’s hand that seyoon had grabbed onto earlier. was that reflexive, similar to how someone would cling to the person next to them when they’re frightened? or was it intentional to show that seyoon was robin’s first?

  ( robin had written about him in his journal: there’s this kid at the chicken shop down the street. he has this big smile that brightens up the place. as embarrassing as it is, sometimes i swing by just to see it. i hope nothing can ever dim his light. )

  the silence stretches on. rowon yanks the sheets to cover the hand – out of sight, out of mind – and pulls the comforter up to robin’s neck. and that is when he notices something .. off. lips pressed, he pushes robin’s hair back a bit too roughly. the skin around his brother’s now perfectly plucked eyebrows is red. “just because he’s not responsive, doesn’t mean he doesn’t feel pain. who are you to come here, move things around, and make yourself at home sitting on top of someone who is on life support?” he looks over at seyoon. “you could’ve killed him.” when he says this last part, his eyes hold no fear for the matter he seems so concerned about. they simply bore into seyoon’s head, dead and direct.

  “i know you mean well, but don’t do this again.”

  rowon brushes his brother’s hair back in place before retrieving the discarded shoes. he brings them over, sets them out in front of seyoon, and crouches down to untie them. a soft, almost somber sigh escapes him as he peers up. this time, there’s familiarity to his expression. it’s not quite as fond, but it is a lot mellower.

  “give me your foot.”

Seyoon always brought people sunflowers because he thought it was the right flower to represent him. Now, seeing how it was dragged across the window ledge by the stranger's hand, he felt ill at ease.

That's right - the person standing before him was a stranger because the Rowon he knew had warm eyes. The only times Seyoon felt such a cold, penetrating gaze from his precious hyung would be during certain games. Even then, Rowon would still feel safe. This person...whoever he was, did not give Seyoon any sense of security.

Unknowingly, Seyoon gripped Robin's hand tighter because at that moment, he - the unconscious one - felt like the more familiar presence.

"Don't look at me like that," he eventually said when he recovered from his initial shock and climbed out of the hospital bed, tweezer-wilding hand withdrawing from Robin's now perfect brows. "It hurts." Just a prick, but it should still not exist. Emotionally, Seyoon kept everyone at two arms' length - Rowon should not have been close enough to even touch him, let alone inflict damage with a look.

Had Seyoon become weak, or was this guy simply a professional?

"You don't smell like strawberries today," Seyoon observed. "I never thought your voice could sound this icy, saying my name."

More thoughts came flooding in - Seyoon usually shut his brain off whenever he hung out with Rowon because he didn't need to think so this was new. He recalled how all of their times together were fun. They always ate exactly what he was craving that day and Rowon knew how he liked his smoothies better than he did himself.

But what did he truly know about Rowon? Seyoon felt like he was onto something. Onto him.

"Am I just meeting the real Rowon for the first time today? Who was the guy I slept with last night? Your alter ego?" Seyoon laughed, even though he was sad.

▸ BK applied to LGCU because... Well, really didn't have much of a choice. Coming from a military family, it was either that or starting his mandatory service early and he's much too pretty for that ( and definitely wasn't getting into K-Arts with his CSAT scores ). ▸ On his first birthday BK picked up a tiny soccer ball plushie and it sealed his jock fate. Although he was never good enough to pick up a league scholarship ( read: his poor conduct usually got in the way ), he's been part of the soccer club since he's first year and is their ( self-proclaimed ) best striker. ▸ Forgot to mention that he also picked up a lit candle immediately after that toy and that's why his music is so fire. He started his soundcloud during his second semester with a few friends from his major for funsies, but it really started to take off after their CEO OF CHALLENGE mixtape went viral on social media. Although the medley is a stark contrast to his preferred chill lofi hiphop beats to relax/study to vibe ( and quite frankly, embarrassing ), the clout that came along with it was pretty addicting and now you can catch him at every party rocking a pair of sunglasses, doing his dancey dance, and screaming booty rules everything around me into a beer bottle.

he was born on 010101 so when he was growing up, his nanny used to call him an angel all the time bc angel numbers

he doesn't really enjoy that his bday is on new years, but what can you do lmao

he was born in vancouver canada but he was back and forth between van and seoul a lot as a kid

he did some of his younger years in an international school in seoul (gr 8-10 age 13-15) before he moved back to canada for a while

his parents are rich business people (they both work in international trade) so he didn't see them very much when he was growing up (and sees them even less now)

was always lonely when he was younger and that has manifested as him being rather clingy with the friends that he has now

he came to seoul (permanently) last year (july 2022) when he auditioned for fun in an international legacy audition and passed

he actually feels a bit more at home in seoul bc he has a few friends here compared to being back in canada (though he does miss his nanny. she didn't really take care of him much now that he was older but they kept in touch, and he has fond memories of her being one of the only people who cared for him in comparison to his parents)

he currently is still kinda figuring out what he wants to do because while he loves to dance, he's not too sure if being an idol is cut out for him

he's a decent singer though, and he likes to think that he's unique bc of his higher tone

he works part-time at a pc room because the hours worked well for him to fit in with training and he likes to cook (even though pc bang food is usually just putting stuff into the microwave or air fryer or just adding water to noodles) he also enjoys that he doesn't really have to talk with anyone, though he's more than happy to talk to people about games or whatever (he knows games but mun doesn't hahaha)

everyone was talking about it? nina must not have been paying much attention these days, but considering that most of her thoughts around their schools' upcoming prom night were highly focused on what she should wear for her date, maybe her shorter attention span could be forgiven.

"if that many people are upset by rumors like this, and if it's being talked about as much as you say, i have no doubt that word has probably made its way to the staff— if there's enough of a push, the faculty might probably cave and change up any preexisting set lists," nina finds herself musing, straightening in her chair a tiny bit, a brow quirking as she looks at him. she gives a soft hum, head tilting slightly. "lately, i've been listening to more english music— i'm not big into the mainstream pop sound, but more indie pop and alt artists have been making their way into my discover playlist." she's been trying to diversify her listening experience, and so far, it's been ok.

“Everyone was talking about it today”, Minjun still sounded really distressed by that idea; for him, no matter what kind of party, to not have some mandatory songs to be played was just the perfect recipe for a failed event. 

Just then he stopped to really give some thought to what Nina just said and Minjun almost felt like he acted in a rude way, just throwing thoughts and words at her, with no previous chat or anything. “So what’s your style, if you mind me asking.” At least he could try to redeem himself. “I think every kind of song should be played and even if throwbacks aren’t everyone’s favorites, we can’t deny they bring people together to have fun. After all, we all had memories when at least one of those songs was played”, he chuckled, offering now some space for her reply.

02. runs with the popular crowd. middle blocker for lgcu’s volleyball team, which has its own fanclub - think aoba johsai from haikyuu!! so he’s frequently evading fangirls. ( there are no fangirls. he just likes lying to himself. but by all means, please entertain him. )

03. rumor has it that he doesn’t know how to read. rumor has it that he’s a twig on distant branch of some chaebol family tree. rumor has it that he’s actually thirty years old and an interpol agent who’s here to investigate the secrets hiding within the university walls. ( he likes to spread rumors about himself because he enjoys the attention. he also spreads rumors about other people, just because. )

One could call him the quintessential campus nerd. A bit of an overachiever ( and an overzealous one at that ), Hyunsoo was insistent on taking many more classes but was stopped by faculty from picking more so his schedule wasn't overwhelmed.

He's part of the school newspaper club as a photographer, and frequently appears around school taking pictures of various parts of campus and other students. He usually gets distracted, though, by pretty flowers ( and people ).

His aspiration is to become a photojournalist who proves urban legends and the existence of aliens and ghosts. He can be found wandering around looking for evidence of... stuff. Catch him late at night with weird equipment he bought online, convinced he's able to talk to the spirits.

Easily deceived into doing assignments or doing studying for people. He just wants to help and is so in love with the concept of school and learning that he just can't help himself. May or may not have been manipulated into a paper writing business.

Naturally, he's also part of the baseball club. He's unaware of his own strength and is often the source of a lot of accidents during practice and games. He's enthusiastic about playing despite initially not being interested in sports.

His parents are well-respected, tenured professors at another university. His mother teaches theater and his father teaches physics. To avoid nepotism allegations, he was enrolled into LGC U instead. He doesn't like to talk about them and tends avoid the subject like the plague.

Really does not want to go to prom and would rather just stay in his room to finally get some peace and quiet. However, he will still be dragged there by friends just so he can stand awkwardly in the corner with the free food and drinks.

✿ Much like in lgc!verse, Taeha followed after her older brother, Taekyung ( npc ), who is a current fourth year music theory major at LGCU. Although she auditioned for the Dance program on a bit of a whim, she's happy to have found her home at LGCU ( and to be able to bother her bro on the regular basis òuó ). ✿ She absolutely love, love, LOVES ( !!! ) being in the dance major and spends most of her time in one of the campus studios rehearsing. She's even begun to choreograph her own contemporary pieces and is looking forward to taking a leadership role in this year's showcase if her dance professor will allow it ( ...or until they give in because Taeha just won't stop asking and sneaking baked goods into their office until they do - ) ✿ Taeha is co-founder and co-captain of LGCU's unofficial Spirit Squad, alongside @lgcxminji. You can find the two skipping around campus in their .✰*DIY spirit squad shirts and handing out mini promposal macarons to every student they meet, inviting them to a big group photo at the end of the night.

✿ Has atrocious handwriting, but that doesn't stop her from leaving notes of encouragement in various locations around campus. Don't be surprised if you find a 'you can do it!' note at your lunch table or a 'don't give up!' in a random book you pick up at the library.

✿ Speaking of library, when not hanging out in @lgcminseo's dorm room or pestering @hyunsoolgc to add a ~ love column ~ to the school newspaper, she can be found in there 'studying' ( translation: catching up on the latest Attack on Titan manga with @lgcjino ).

✿ She also really hopes that he knows what's going on in their Astronomy class, because she dragged @yoonalgc into it thinking they were going to be reading each other's birthcharts and finding soulmates and now Professor Nahee is asking about Dwarf Galaxies and apparently there aren't seven of them and they have nothing to do with Snow White -

✿ But the library is not always for procrastination and shenanigans! Being a native English speaker, she spends most Saturdays volunteering for language exchanges with other international students, and even started to participate as a learner herself. So far, she's picked up quite a bit of Japanese, so she's certain she'll get at least a B in her 'Japanese Conversation Through Movies' course ( and worst case scenario she'll just blink some morse code to @lgcxsofi for presentation answers ).

✿ In the spring, she's known for fluttering around campus in a pair of cheap fairy wings claiming to be 'Campus Cupid' and delivering confession notes ( real or staged ) and playing matchmaker for both students and faculty alike ( looking at you Professor Eunsook ).

✿ When it came to her own confession during last year's 'Campus Cupid' run, she accidentally shot a suction cup arrow directly at @seyoonlgc's face and hasn't been able to show her face in front of him since.

✿ ...Or at least she tried not to until she realized they were both in the same beginner yoga class. At least she can hide out in the corner giggling with @yujinlgc and taking naps - I mean, practicing her shavasana.

✿ And last but not least, Taeha has been so ridiculously excited for prom she can barely stand it! She's got THE dress, the shoes, and the best friends in the whole world ( even in all the Dwarf galaxies!!! ) and she can't wait to dance the night away with all of them ( and annoy them to no end by taking polaroids every five minutes ).

he’s not extremely built but i want to say he’s in the wrestlers club/team because he didn’t want to do basketball or soccer

his favorite class to take a nap in is korean language and literature, something about park eunsook’s voice makes him fall asleep, it’s a good quality to have!

he followed a girl to the school, completely forgot about her when he entered the school, met her again and fell for her again, he’s dumb easy what can we say

actually has an enjoyable experience in uni, always going to the club gatherings even when he’s not a member of said club, he somehow always gets invited!

believe it or not, he wanted to be an astronaut because he wanted to be the first one to discover alien life (that is until usa beat him to it) but he still loves his astronomy class, never misses it even if he happens to miss the rest of his classes that day

probably head of the paranormal activity club, always rowdy during halloween, always trying to recruit people, practically a cult leader for the paranormal at this point

not sure why he’s in studio arts, he’s rotten at it, he thought the girls signing up for that major were cute, ended up being true, but the classes were cool too (tldr: came for the girls, stayed for the classes *shrug emoji*)

he sculpted a pair of boobs for sculpture fundamentals and when the teacher asked him what it was (because it looked more like sand dunes than boobs), jino looked at him incredulously and said “art!” he had to retake the class again the next quarter

FACTS:

in this verse, student minjun just complains a lot about everything. communication was never meant to be his major but doing what his parents want (they’re both known journalists in this verse), is the only way he can get what he wants. so he lives a double life being the perfect son for them but a menace to everyone else.

hates sports to the max, but because he surprisingly has some kick-ass writing skills, he’s always hired by the university’s journal to cover most of the sports games that happen on campus. his awful reviews whenever someone loses turned him into a #1 bully target (but people actually think twice when they realize minjun is tall and strong)

he would love to become a dancer and even tried to convince his parents to change his major but his parents threatened to disown him, so after he agreed to never talk about that again, they bought him a new car. but since student minjun is pretty different from family minjun, he befriends people from the dancing department and is often seen training with them, whenever he can.

EXTRAS:

he is a photography enthusiast and captured a lot through his lenses, especially moments he shouldn’t have. no, he’s not a paparazzi nor will he ever use those pictures against people, but he strongly believes people should be more discreet when they’re doing the forbidden.

likes to write BL scripts in his free time and most of his characters are students from lgcu that he gave nicknames. they are always based on the stuff he witnesses on campus and only a few of his closest friends know about it.

is surprisingly popular with girls (and boys) despite being a grumpy old guy in a boy’s body. he won’t say no to fun times, especially if it involves clubbing and dancing (he probably won’t remember you the next morning if he drinks too much)

has a secret crush he won’t ever tell, no matter how some of his friends threaten him. he wishes to invite them to prom but surprisingly he’s insecure about it.

Jason is acting weird. Everyone can see it, even people who don't know him as well as she does. He's jittery, restless in a way he never is in English class. She hasn't seen him act this strange since Mr. Napier made him stay after class, all those months ago.

It's a different kind of strange though. Last time, he pushed people away, monosylable responses where he's usually the most vocal, weeks worth of texts left on seen or delivered. Now he's...

Grant is with him, again. The Kane boy always seems to be with him these days. Attached at the hip when he used to trail Jason like a shadow. They're sitting at a table by themselves, knees pressed together, faces close as they whisper to each other. At the table behind them sandwiched between Jason's old friends is Eddie, deaf to whatever Zachary is monologuing about, staring at Jason like a kicked puppy. The spot always reserved for Jason is empty. A few tables ahead, Grayson sits across from Donna, but he isn't listening to a word she says, busy as he is glaring down Grant. The older Kane is gripping his arm tightly, clearly willing the sports captain not to storm over there.

Rena has had enough. And because she's such a good friend, she's going to put a stop to this nonsense. She marches over and slams her tray down on the table beside Jason, practically at the same moment a girl she only vaguely knows from rumors and gossip slips silently from the gaggle of people around them to sit next to Grant. They make eye contact, and though Rena doesn't even know her name, they come to an understanding in a fraction of a second. Rena nods and the older girl nods back, and then they get down to business.

"Jason." She keeps her tone even but firm, leaving no wiggle room for Jason to try to escape.

Jason winces, all the indication she needs that he's guilty and he knows it, and swallows thickly. "Rena." He greets, begrudgingly.

"Jade." Grant grunts, impatient and irritated, all traces of Jason's adoring new organ scrubbed clean.

Jade sniffs, eyebrow raised. "Grant." Clipped and somehow dripping with reproach.

It's quiet for a moment, all of them waiting for someone else to speak up, to explain or question or scold or defend.

Rena clears her throat. "You've been acting weird. Why?" She gets straight to the point.

"I-"

"He-"

Jason is cut off with a sharp, warning look. Jade, less forgiving, has slapped her hand over Grant's mouth to stop whatever white knight crusade he was about to embark on.

"Don't insult my intelligence Jason. You're not as good of an actor as you like to think you are." She crosses her arms.

Something blank and a little mean passes over Jason's face, Something that leaves a bitter taste in her mouth. She doesn't like how it makes her doubt her words.

Jason sighs, runs his hands through his already messy curls. "Me and Grant are dating." He says finally.

Rena blinks at him, unamused. "Yes, I gathered that. What else?" She prods him.

"What do you mean what else," he frowns, "I have a boyfriend, my first boyfriend. That's not a reason for a behavior switch?"

Now she double takes, completely caught off guard. "You and Eddie weren't dating?!" She asks, just a little too loud. She's uncomfortably aware of Eddie's gaze on her back.

Jason glances around in a panic, shushing her aggressively. "Will you keep your voice down?" He hisses. "And no, of course not. Why would you think that?" He asks, like it's completely upsurd for him to have been dating the boy he spent every waking moment talking to or about, a boy whose schedule was - until this week - carefully taped on the inner cover of Jason's binder. It was color coded, for God's sake. If she looked, she's almost positive she'd find it replaced with Grant's. The thought makes her nauseous.

"Why wouldn't you guys be dating?" She retorts, feeling distinctly as though the rug has been pulled out from her.

And then, just to punch her in the gut, Jade cuts her off impatiently. "That's nice. Where's Mr. Napier?"

Rena doesn't get it. What the hell does the anatomy/drama teacher have to do with whatever romcom plot Jason is living out? But Jason tenses and Grant's already cold expression becomes arctic.

Grant muffles something behind her hand, still firmly clamped over his mouth, but she stares Jason down without sparing him a glance.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Jason tells her, something scared and angry in his eyes.

Rena doesn't believe him. Dread pools in her stomach as she realizes exactly how long Mr. Napier has been missing. She's never liked the look in Grant's eyes, something dark and seething coiled behind his blank stare. She quickly grows to hate how it's reflected in Jason's.

Later, she'll excuse herself for bed early when they hear on the news that Mr. Napier is officially considered a missing person. She'll stare at her phone for hours, wondering if she should call in a tip. Two weeks later when the police come to ask the staff and kids questions, she will have made a decision.

She stays quiet.
