Far be it for Hyunsoo to admit that he had little to no experience with dating. On the contrary, he became quite adept at it in his years following high school. ( Nevermind that year — where he and the girl he shared that time with thought of studying and eating together as proper dates. ) His real run-ins came at the behest of his mother, determined to marry him off to the daughter of a random acquaintance or prestigious name. Two years of perpetual dinner dates and coming up with excuses to get out of them. He managed to escape until now; and not without the help of Minseo.

Between the arranged dates, his first and last roles involving a love interest, the fake relationship that was coming to its inevitable end, and the introduction of this show, he cannot help but wonder if the extent of his public 'dating' would be just that — a total fabrication. However, Hyunsoo had never bothered himself too deeply when it came to these matters. Matters of the heart, public displays. Particularly not when it came to everything being an act for the show.

And so, he decides to be a bit ... ambitious for his selection of a date location and treat it like the real thing. He carefully calculates the mileage and the time of travel, affordability ( with some wiggle room that would certainly not hurt his wallet ), and weather. With accordance to the season, he comes to the conclusion that Nami Island would be the perfect spot for a first date.

Hyunsoo paces before the filming begins, eyes traveling from the fluttering cherry blossoms down to the object in his hands. The MyMelody charm smiles up at him blankly, its vibrant pink color leaving him curious as to who this is meant to hint at. He turns it around carefully as to not overtake it with the sleeves of his light sweater.

PART ONE (because this got too long)

Time to get down to some serious business.

Cupid Seyoon was on the move, ready to hand out matching candies to his fated couples. He walked around the entire Halloween party ground, pretending to be innocently admiring people's costumes while in reality, diligently observed and schemed.

If any of his ships end up sailing after tonight and people get laid, he shall consider it his contribution to humankind and expect karmic rewards.

The first person he pulled to his side was Taeha (@lgctaeha), just to let her know that it was time. As Cupid's assistant and fellow Legacy shipper, he intended to take her opinions into consideration (because let's be real, his alone should not be trusted). Of course, he also had a match for her. "Here," he said, passing her a strawberry candy. It was identical to the one he had handed off to Wenjun (@lgcwenjun) earlier because he thought they would make such a cute couple. "Your match is tall, gorgeous and incredibly sweet. He's one of the only two men I really trust here at Legacy." Only the best for dear Taeha. Seyoon considered this ship sunshine x sunshine, and thought about everlasting summers.

He went to Yoojoon (@lgcyoojoon) next, because his brother's wellbeing was always on his mind. He handed him a peach candy, which was the same kind he had given to Milan (@lgcmilan). "Your match is a real peach," he promised Yoojoon after explaining his little game tonight. Milan was a pretty Christian girl and probably wanted a vanilla good boy. Who would be a better fit than his step brother? Nobody. Seyoon gave this ship the name of holy union, because both of the people involved were angels, at least in his eyes.

"Kiwi for you!" He grabbed a wild Ollie (@lgcoliver) by the back of his shirt as the guy was running past and placed a bright green candy into his hand. Seyoon planned to hand the matching candy off to Jaekyung (@lgcjaekyung) because she was really fun and could probably match Ollie's energy.

Seyoon looked down at the next candy he'd pulled out of his basket. It was watermelon, which was the flavor he gave to Yujin (@yujinlgc). The idea of matching her hurt, because she was a goddess and his idol, so nobody really deserved her. A part of him wanted to take the candy back for his Yujin shrine, but the other less selfish part wanted to find her someone. While contemplating, he accidentally bumped into Akio (@lgcakio), and ended up dropping the candy into his pocket. It would be weird to reach into his fellow trainee's pocket now and get the candy back, so instead he accepted fate and gave Akio a sulky look. "You better treasure her," he told the guy. All things considered, this one was not a bad option - Akio was a good man as far as he knew, better than a lot of the others.

Minjun (@lgcmjun) was a difficult one, because Seyoon still couldn't look at him without feeling the guilt. He assigned the guy grapefruit flavored candy, because that was Asher's favorite and gave the matching one to Jisoo (@lgcjisoo). Maybe back then, he, Jisoo and Asher were never meant to be a trio. Sometimes he wished he could go back and change things. This was his attempt, he supposed.

Perhaps BK (@lgcbk) would be confused about getting paired up with Sori (@lgcsori) via the apple candy but he should trust Seyoon's judgement. Sori was a cutie, especially whenever she got a bit tipsy. There might be a party girl hiding inside and those rosy cheeks were incredibly charming, which he highly doubted any man could resist.

Who on the earth should he pair up with Yuxi (@lgcyuxi)? She was real spicy with guys, but Seyoon had seen her interacting better with the ladies. Since Yuxi was working with the cool older sister vibe, he figured he'd find her someone with a little sister look. Maybe Amelia (@lgcamelia) would be a good choice! They can enjoy their raspberry candies together.

the final episode always held a special significance. like any other episode, jaehwa had the chance to practice making the dish the day before, reducing the chances of messing up. however, today, she felt an exceptional nervousness looming over her, knowing that yujin, crystallis' meal prep queen, would be there as a guest to rate her food.

"hello and welcome to the last episode of 'jas can cook!' we have a special guest joining us today who will be rating my cooking." jaehwa announced, her hands outstretched to add a subtle flourish to yujin's entrance. with a spirited flick of her wrists, she introduced, "please welcome yujin-ie~"

like cherry wasn’t the best at most things, she also did not have any talent for searching and finding. cherry had been excited once she heard of the hidden cards, ready to go out and find them. the halloween month always made cherry happy to be in legacy, she never knew what to expect from legacy during halloween, but it was always something fun. she’s dragged yujin along to search for cards, it feels like it’s been too long since the two blondes spent time together.

she lifts a flower pot, nothing there “i really thought hiding the card under the flower pot would be a good idea, but that’s the fifth i’ve lifted and i still haven’t found any” she stands up, arms on her hips. “maybe someone else has just been quicker than me?” she sighs, shaking her head a bit. “whoever hid these did a good job” (or maybe cherry just sucks at finding things?). she looks up and points “there’s a vent up there! do you think there’s a chance of a card up there? if i sit on your shoulder i might be able to see”.

that pigeon is a thief

              since his best friend had moved, hyoseop had felt rather lonely. not that he was lonely, he was always surrounded by other people, always annoying someone, but something in his heart still felt a bit lonely. he came to realize, even if he had far more friends now than when he joined legacy, he still barely had anyone he felt super close to, late at night one day, he’d decided to change that, he refused to feel lonely.

yujin and hyoseop hadn’t exactly had a ‘friendship’ start, but she was someone who along the way became a friend. he was supposed to hang out with his dad today, but he cancelled, hyoseop had already bought and gathered everything for the picnic though, so the night before, he’d asked yujin out instead. they’re still on legacy grounds, as he figured that would mean less chance of rumours. he stands up to welcome her when she arrives “welcome y--” but then he hears a sound, turning around and seeing a pigeon stealing some of the food “away! this isn’t for you!”.

being backstage while the other girl groups performed was always fun. somin's been a legacy fan since dbsd debuted, so she's been following them closely since then, and despite debuting in a group under legacy herself, it's never stopped her from still following all of the new releases.

also being at everland is just fun.

"unnie, have you been to everland before?" somin asks, half paying attention to the performers and half just wanting to chat, having turned to the crystallis member closest to her. she fiddles with her necklace for a little bit, trying to think of what ride she wants to go on the most once they're allowed (mostly) free(ish) reign on the park afterwards.

"do you think they'll let me go on t-express?" she asks, having been very interested in the wooden rollercoaster. she's a self-proclaimed not-scaredy-cat and had been wondering if this would be scary, considering she's never been on a rollercoaster before but she's also not afraid of heights.

✿ Much like in lgc!verse, Taeha followed after her older brother, Taekyung ( npc ), who is a current fourth year music theory major at LGCU. Although she auditioned for the Dance program on a bit of a whim, she's happy to have found her home at LGCU ( and to be able to bother her bro on the regular basis òuó ). ✿ She absolutely love, love, LOVES ( !!! ) being in the dance major and spends most of her time in one of the campus studios rehearsing. She's even begun to choreograph her own contemporary pieces and is looking forward to taking a leadership role in this year's showcase if her dance professor will allow it ( ...or until they give in because Taeha just won't stop asking and sneaking baked goods into their office until they do - ) ✿ Taeha is co-founder and co-captain of LGCU's unofficial Spirit Squad, alongside @lgcxminji. You can find the two skipping around campus in their .✰*DIY spirit squad shirts and handing out mini promposal macarons to every student they meet, inviting them to a big group photo at the end of the night.

✿ Has atrocious handwriting, but that doesn't stop her from leaving notes of encouragement in various locations around campus. Don't be surprised if you find a 'you can do it!' note at your lunch table or a 'don't give up!' in a random book you pick up at the library.

✿ Speaking of library, when not hanging out in @lgcminseo's dorm room or pestering @hyunsoolgc to add a ~ love column ~ to the school newspaper, she can be found in there 'studying' ( translation: catching up on the latest Attack on Titan manga with @lgcjino ).

✿ She also really hopes that he knows what's going on in their Astronomy class, because she dragged @yoonalgc into it thinking they were going to be reading each other's birthcharts and finding soulmates and now Professor Nahee is asking about Dwarf Galaxies and apparently there aren't seven of them and they have nothing to do with Snow White -

✿ But the library is not always for procrastination and shenanigans! Being a native English speaker, she spends most Saturdays volunteering for language exchanges with other international students, and even started to participate as a learner herself. So far, she's picked up quite a bit of Japanese, so she's certain she'll get at least a B in her 'Japanese Conversation Through Movies' course ( and worst case scenario she'll just blink some morse code to @lgcxsofi for presentation answers ).

✿ In the spring, she's known for fluttering around campus in a pair of cheap fairy wings claiming to be 'Campus Cupid' and delivering confession notes ( real or staged ) and playing matchmaker for both students and faculty alike ( looking at you Professor Eunsook ).

✿ When it came to her own confession during last year's 'Campus Cupid' run, she accidentally shot a suction cup arrow directly at @seyoonlgc's face and hasn't been able to show her face in front of him since.

✿ ...Or at least she tried not to until she realized they were both in the same beginner yoga class. At least she can hide out in the corner giggling with @yujinlgc and taking naps - I mean, practicing her shavasana.

✿ And last but not least, Taeha has been so ridiculously excited for prom she can barely stand it! She's got THE dress, the shoes, and the best friends in the whole world ( even in all the Dwarf galaxies!!! ) and she can't wait to dance the night away with all of them ( and annoy them to no end by taking polaroids every five minutes ).

By the fourth time Ichika meets Granny Lee, the woman’s warm personality truly penetrates the idol’s shell. She wonders if this is because even in her younger years, she always felt more comfortable in the presence of older women or if it’s just a testament to Granny’s nature—though both could be true at the same time. And perhaps it helps too that today one of her members, Yujin, is joining her. Even with the eyes of the filming staff, it’s easy to slip into this world and comment on how Granny doesn’t need to peel fruit for them, as they’re both happy to help when something catches her eye. She can still hear the old woman chatting in the kitchen while she scoots on her knees toward a nearby bookcase and removes a very thick photo album. 

“Granny, you were so young!” the idol can’t help the shock in her voice as a page of old photos lays open in her palms. In one, Granny has to be a teenager at the time, judging by her school uniform and the bob of her hair. There’s a woman next to her and two younger children, one half a head shorter, holding the hand of a surly-looking child with a bowl cut— both looking ready to attend school as well. Other photos seem to be around this, faded and old, showing the family in various states of life. 

“Oh yes, you found some of my old photos, have you?” Ichika’s head turns back up as the old woman speaks, watching while she settles down at the table with the fruit and urges Yujin to eat the pears. Bringing the album closer, Ichika sets it down on the table so the other two women can better see. “That’s one, right there, is a photo of me, my mother, and my little brothers. I think I was about 16 years old… about 1960, I think. Ah tea! Let me get tea!” 

Before either girl can refuse, Granny is getting to her feet, groaning and joints pooping but oddly quick despite it all. 

“Oh!” Turning a few more pages, Ichika can’t help but gasp as a few photos slip out, clearly unbound. Instinctually, she moves to try and gather them when she notices some of the photos feature a slightly older Granny and a man in a military uniform. “Oh,” she pauses and blinks before pointing at the man, “do you think this was her husband?”

i’m not slee— zZZ

           sori was easy to guess, because she was a bit robot like. she had a schedule she strictly followed, and when changes came to her she was quick to change her schedule. the joining of future dreams didn’t meet no certain schedule, it just meant a new temporarily one. getting to join team unknown didn’t strive her away from her much detailed schedule, no it was just accustomed to fit being in team unknown. it was very specific, she was doing this then and doing that then. even the words that came out of her was so robot-y, like she had some already decided choices to choose from when replying to people. she wasn’t good at showing feelings, never had been. she was a bit difficult to get along with, her schedule so strictly and full packed, her mostly seeing having friends as a waste of time (while still being sad she barely had any friends… what an idiot you are sori) but at least you knew where you had her, surprises wasn’t something sori did a lot of.

yet this was quite the surprise to get, and it was comical to look at, had her brother been here he would’ve taken many pictures of her before beginning to laugh and then most likely blackmailing her with the photos. and even, how did it happen? how in the world did she not wake up? she’d lately lessened her amount of sleep, having to prepare for lgc japan girls, and it being the last months of this school year, so she wasn’t getting as much sleep as she used to, and apparently, and obviously, she was not getting enough. her eyes heavy, her legs weak, just for a second she decides to sit on a bench. her whole body deciding to just give up, she falls back, very much asleep. that, that was unexpected.

receiving a gift from yujin not directly from her hand is a first for milan. they used to be roommates, always just 2 steps away from each other. but not anymore. distance makes the heart grow fonder, and perhaps this is why the trainee days of living together now feel nostalgic.

a soft “woah” escapes her lips when she sees yujin’s pictures, mesmerized by the girl’s beauty. yujin has always been beautiful, don’t get her wrong, but milan isn’t used to see her friend in idol make up. her traits have been enhanced in all the right way, and her expressions bring out a softness that milan isn’t used to see.

it takes her a couple of days to get back to yujin. but finally, she opens their kakaotalk conversation and sends a shot of her bedtable, now adorned with framed pictures of her photocards.

most of the time, hyejoo appreciates being busy. even when things are difficult and she has a lot of things to do back to back, she thinks it's a blessing that crystallis is popular enough to get these schedules, and that she should be grateful to have all these things to fill up her time. in this industry, she knows that most people aren't so lucky and would kill to have her position.

she knows all of this, and she is grateful and happy about all her schedules. but she has to admit that the best part of her day sometimes is coming back to the dorms and getting into her bed.

it's been a busy few weeks, with them jumping right into comeback and concert prep right off the heels of their japanese debut, and there's a positive in going off the momentum, but there's also a sort of fatigue that runs through her every now and then. she thinks that tonight will be a bit of a reset, maybe she can do a face mask and paint her nails, maybe watch a drama to unwind. she even bought a few desserts from her favorite cafe, and an extra just in case any of the other members were home. they're usually even busier than she is, so she doesn't have a lot of hope.

"hello?" she says softly, looking around as she enters the dorm room. "is anyone here?"
