I like how I can't be able to feel the way I do about myself without people from religious backgrounds coming out of the woodworks and essentially telling me my experience is ungodly and even demonic.

the funniest thing that’s happened to me recently is that someone seemingly tried to update my pronouns on the medical system but accidentally made it so that my actual name is now “They Them”

Be Openly Scary
Society is scared of a lot of things it shouldn't be. A lot of those things can't be helped, a lot of those things don't hurt anyone, and a lot of those things are not what people even think they truly are.
So you know what?
Talk about your hallucinations, your delusions, your psychotic symptoms. Share things about your gender identity whether it be nonconforming, trans, xenogender or anything else. Scream about your nonhumanity and animal urges. Be open and unwavering about your systems existence, presenting as more-than-one wherever you want. Use and introduce your pronouns, even if people find them weird or offputting. Rock back and forth, pace, twitch and stim in any way you please. Wear things that reflect your identity in public. Get tattoos and body mods to your heart's content. Tell people about your personality disorders.
Don't make yourself small because others can't handle you. Be open where safe. Be you. Be scary.

Please please please think of trans people of color when you’re going to make a generalized statement. When you’re making posts about passing tips, medical treatments for transitioning, even light hearted stereotypes include people of color in your sentiments.
As a black trans person it is so fucking isolating to see stuff I’m supposed to relate to only to find that they weren’t talking about me or people like me.

Actually, I AM trapped in the wrong body.
I AM a boy trapped in a girl’s body.
I WAS born in the wrong body.
I DO hate my body.
I DO want to change it FOR ME and NO ONE ELSE.
I AM distressed because my body ISN’T right.
And I’m definitely not the only one.
It’s ok if you, as an individual trans person, hate the “born in the wring body,” thing. But stop trying to convince people that every trans person hates that way of describing our experiences.
You are 100% allowed to use whatever descriptions you want for your experiences, but so are we. We who WERE born in the wrong body and feel most comfortable describing it that way.
This is in no way a call-out post, or trying to offend anyone. It’s simply a request to stop acting like trans people are a monolith who ALL prefer the SAME EXACT terms.

Bit of a personal one for ya 🥀
For those curious as to what religion, I grew up in The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints, aka Mormon.
I was IN IT. I'm not exaggerating when I say that religion was apart of my life almost everyday single day up until I left at 23 yrs old.
I sketched this comic a year ago before I came out to my parents. I hadn't yet processed why simply thinking of doing so upset me so much, despite knowing my parents would be supportive.
I did end up telling them soon after sketching this. It went better than I thought it would. They told me all that matters is that I'm happy 😭
I'm almost 30 now. Left the church 5+ yrs ago. It's been wild seeing how 'the world' is, how normal people are. Everyone isn't a degenerate like the Church made non-members seem. There's a lot of de-programing I've had to do and boy does it make me realize how weird I grew up, how odd some of the teachings and mindsets are.
Like I said in the comic, the faith taught me good stuff too ... but I'm glad I left ... I never felt like I truly belonged in it. There was always this part of me that never meshed, no matter how long I'd been in it.
Thank you to anyone who read this far. I could go on and on about this topic but I'll leave it at this. Let me know if this resonated with any of you. I'm curious how common it is.

Happy Pride everyone!!! (Thank you Emily Gwen for designing the sunset lesbian flag) I love my trans sisters and siblings very much Image description: a cartoon cat and mouse march across a rainbow carrying flags. The cat's flag is the sunset lesbian flag with the words "happy pride" written on it and the mouse's flag is a black flag with three white question marks. It's a bright, cloudy day and the sun has a smiling cartoon face. End ID

"What if I'm not trans, what if I'm choosing to be trans for [list of reasons]"
I am grabbing you by the shoulders and shaking you like a can of soda. If, for whatever reason, you looked within yourself and decided to be trans - you're still trans. We (as trans people) don't need to have an "I always knew" story. We don't need to have the ~magical transsexual gene~. It's incredibly hard for so many of us to figure out why we're trans, and if being trans was always a choice, the reasons for choosing to be trans would be complex. If being trans is always a choice, that doesn't negate that we deserve human dignity and respect for who we are.
It shouldn't matter if you chose your trans identity or not, becayse you still are a person. You breath the same air I do, and you deserve to live how you want, on your terms. You watch the same sunrises and sunsets I do, you are here. I, for one, welcome you no matter what your inner reflections are about your transness. You have a place in this world, you have inherent worth.
