lets talk about the gender queerness of this show for a moment. really, i don’t care what kinda of “plot explanations” have to be done to give us some representation, I think Kiruko is definitely under the trans umbrella. Now WHAT SPECTRUM of the trans umbrella that is, I BELIEVE - should be up to the viewer themselves. Like most media, (music, movies, books, etc-) I think that everything is subjective and with or without context, each individual audience member should be allowed to come to their own conclusions or relations of the character as they feel comfortable or happy with - as long as obviously you’re not slandering or trashing the original metaphors or meaning applied to the character by the artist/creator. Their concept of the character should be taken into consideration as well and not just disregarded, because then I feel you are just disrespecting the creator and art - besides that, people should be able to apply headcannons and such to whatever characters they desire. Now, personally, I first read Kiruko’s character as a trans male, or in other words transitioning from female to male. This is largely due to the fact that I myself am a trans man and am always struggling to find concrete and kind representation for people like me in anime. I on the flip side though, can see why many may read Kiruko’s characterization and gender as trans female, or even non-binary or genderfluid. These characterizations however are not relatable to me. I can argue that I have an easy time seeing that Kiruko COULD also be trans femme mainly due to the fact that we hear Haruki talk about guiltily wanting to be and embody his sister (therefore possibly referencing gender envy of being male, but desiring to be female), or we could also take it as a form of general jealousy for Kiriko from Haruki, of more just wanting to be LIKE her.

I will continue to keep my headcannon of transmasc Kiruko, but would also like everyone to just stop arguing about the characters gender and just enjoy the show and enjoy hearing about other people’s perspective of the story and characters. Maybe even find some people who have the same headcannon as you so you can enjoy it with other people.

Since I feel more confident in a Non emotionaly abusive relationship and I feel a lot more brave and willing to put myself out there I was wondering if maybe you’d be best for me to perhaps start a new blog dedicated solely to talking about my own personal experience with dissociative identity disorder since everybody and anyone usually gets it wildly wrong and I would like to show you what it’s actually like to be a system (fuck I hate that word) and how it actually is not how people pretend it’s like fake TikTok DID so I was wondering if it would be best if I was to be to start a new blog for it or if I should just keep on with this blog even though this is literally just one of our old emotional traumatised alter who carries the damage of our six near death expiriances….being comatose and,iterally have my heart stop pumping n no oxygen to the brain. This might just be my autism but I genuinely don't understand why we describe our sexuality by the genders we are attracted to instead of the genitals we would like to have sex with.

Like. Personally I prefer having sex with an individual with a penis. Vaginas low-key freak me out even tho I have one. I don't care what your gender is, or even if you have one! I just prefer to have sex with a phallic shape. I would be okay with a person with a vagina using a strap on me, but not scissoring or giving/receiving oral.

I was describing this to someone and asked if there was a label. They said I just had a penis fetish and I was taken aback.

I wish sexuality was moreso defined as "I prefer penis" or "I prefer vagina" or "I don't have a preference" or "I don't want any". That would make labeling so much easier?? No worrying about "is it straight to fuck a girl with a dick?" Or "am I gay if my boyfriend has a vagina".

Romantic interest could be aligned with gender still, I feel like that one does make sense to a degree-- or at least more sense.

(obviously I recognize that intersex people may or may not fall into "vagina havers" or "penis havers". I don't know enough about intersex folks to comment or advise on that, but obviously there could be additional subcategories or categories just like fray&demi for sexually now.

Idk I just feel like the label for sexuality should be more about the actual act of sex and less about the gender presentation of the sexual partner. I'm fine with a woman with a dick fucking me, a man with a dick fucking me, a [redacted] with a dick fucking me, etc.

Maybe I'm just weird and some people really care about the gender presentation of the individual. I don't know! I sure as hell don't get it.
