Back straightens , paws motion about , ❝ Nothing fancy , I can take care of the particulars for the transmutations you may need me to do , but it must be stur— ❞ Fur ruffles , head cocking back over winged shoulder to peer quizzically towards the guest room – rather , h i s new room.  Huh , seems if there’s ever a need for something , the cottage would oblige.  Dyn’lo has never known such magic afore , he finds it both startling as much as FASCINATING .  Clearing his throat , looking back to Myles , he bows his head in a show of respectful g r a t i t u d e , ❝ Thank you , Master Myles , ❞ The formal moniker comes out automatically in lieu of their contract , ❝ That will do nicely. ❞  Hasn’t even looked at it , but then again he doesn’t really need to.

Foraging ; that , he could do ( it would likely give him a good excuse to get more familiar with the lay of the land ) .  It certainly wouldn’t be much of a problem.  At the offering of the spoon , the Dustling gingerly takes a taste and considers it for a moment.  ❝ Hm , I believe the stock is a bit b l a n d , wouldn’t you say ?  Do we have any spices to bolster the flavor a bit ? ❞  Dyn’lo hesitates , unsure if he is allowed to go sniffing about for things.  ❝ Perhaps some paprika or cumin.  I’ve heard , too , adding brown sugar might compliment things , depending on the vegetables. ❞  Of course , he’s no chef ; but his self-assured , earnest smile speaks for itself.

With the approval given , Dyn’lo hops out of his seat , eager and curious.  Having only made it a few paces , he turns back at the sound of Myles calling after him , passing him a warning about the fireplace nearby.  ❝ The space above the fireplace , ❞ Dyn’lo echoes , head tipping ‘tween the witch and the hearth as he digests the words ‘fore giving a nod in understanding , ❝ Rest assured , I’ll not be disturbing the shadows there. ❞  Though he’s not privy to putting himself nor his new Master at risk , he does stand beyond the stone threshold of the hearth and look up at it curiously.  Satisfying himself on the fact Myles will eventually tell him what he needs to know in time , the Dustling idly meanders from place-to-place ( the bedroom he’s been allotted , the pantry , even the garden ) , careful not to disturb anything , carefuler still to m e m o r i z e the spaces of the cottage ( as much as the scent of it , which will help him always return home ) .

Returning again to the central area where he’d been speaking with Myles earlier , he watches the witch bustle by , asking if he needed anything more.  At first , the Forger is tempted to profess – once again – he really didn’t need much of anything.  But thinking on it , feeling the weight of his hammer on his back , he feels compelled to ask for at LEAST one thing , ❝ Is it possible to have a workbench ? ❞  If not , he could make do with working outside on flat terrain.  He smiles at the next question , ❝ Ah , Dustling are omnivorous.  We can eat almost anything ; grains , insects , fruits , meat … Stew will be fine.  I can help with that , if you like.  Surely two less adequate cooks will create a single , better one. ❞  Yes , surely.  That is how culinary math works.  And besides , it would provide a good opportunity to get to know each other a bit more.

“A workbench? What kind?” The sound of sliding furniture comes from their bedroom, the cottage groaning as things shift in the small space away from their view. A work bench would appear, though blank and unassuming. Anything the other asks for might materialize within reason for their needs. The room was now deceptively larger to accommodate. “If you need things like fire, there’s one behind the cottage, but if you need it bigger or hotter for any reason, I can show you were we have those. There’s also a river and a spring near by for washing up and drinking water. We can go tomorrow.” 

“I only eat insects on certain days, so you may need to forage for those on your own,” witch laughs at the thought, bringing a spoon upwards to taste and then offering it to the other, “yes, please. Taste it and tell me what you think it needs.”

So I know I’m hardcore on team “Stede should be the first one to go in for the kiss after they make up”

But what if they go in for it at the same time?

What if the romantic music swells and they both lean in, and they bump their foreheads together and Stede apologizes and Ed is like “no no, my bad” and they try it again and they bump foreheads again or Stede just totally misses or one of them accidentally gets poked in the eye and they just have this comedy of errors for like five minutes because Ed is a lil nervous and Stede has little to no experience is kissing someone

But they finally get it and then the music starts back up again and that’s when it goes from “haha funny” to “aw”

i really would not change a single thing about the malec plotline (breakup and all) but sometimes i really do wish we got to see alec date at least one other person yk? and i dont mean that in a pre-cog focing himself to date a woman to hide his sexuality way, i mean in a post-breakup rebound/fling kinda way like i just know the drama would be legendary

they are so divorced, they will mildly inconvenience eachother for their own amusement, they trust eachother with their lifes but also they are on oppossing sides, they will fight and then have the most civil convo literally 5 minutes after
