JOKE-OGRAPHY: 1. In this Bible story, Jesus returns to His hometown and preaches in the synagogue, and while His old neighbors are astonished at first, their familiarity with Him makes them skeptical of His role as Messiah. After all, they watched Him grow up, and they know His family personally. Surely the Jesus they watched crawl, walk, work, and play couldn't be someone special. 2. In this cartoon, the skeptic names three reasons Jesus can't be a prophet. 1st, He used to have a regular job as a carpenter. 2nd, He used to play around with family like any kid. 3rd, His mother used to hang His laundry to dry. It's all so familiar and mundane, and not at all mystical or "prophety." In response, the other guy points out that the skeptic has basically said real prophets must have no job (1), no family or friends (2), and no underwear (3). 3. I'm a lifelong Catholic, so I'm very familiar with my faith. So familiar that, like Jesus's neighbors, I sometimes take it for granted. I daydream during Mass. I think about work during prayer. I become numb to the love and sacrifice of the Eucharist. Meanwhile, there are converts who weep for joy at their baptisms. They see the truth with fresh eyes, and I'd see too if I'd take the effort to remove the blinders of familiarity. Faith is a boundless treasure, the Mass is a daily miracle, prayer is an open channel to the God of the universe, life is a gift, and Jesus is more than a neighbor.

Politics are nowhere near as important as your relationship with Christ, yet so many live as though the next president is going to spell doom for human rights everywhere. Certainly, there are better and there are worse leaders, and it is wise to discern between them, but they are all human and all humans are guilty of sin. Without Christ, what is a man leading with? At best, humanist values you agree with, at worst it's sheer corruption, but all together it is pointless.

Trump won't save you, Biden won't save you, and your choice of red or blue isn't going to save you from what only Christ can save you from.

May the good Lord open your eyes to your sins and with new hearts may you come to repent and be saved by the greatest leader mankind has ever known.

I'm not bothered when ppl call Jesse "so baby" with the intent of pointing out that he is still very young for everything he's going through especially cause there's still a lot people that have unrealistic expectations of how put together 24 year olds should be, and that some of his being naive is really not a fault that's useful to blame him for, or even if the intent is to express wanting to comfort and care for him because he's going through so many things at such an already turbulent time in young adulthood

but oh my god I could do without the people who legitimately infantilize him or act like he can't conprehend anything complex, like yea he's got moments of true dumbassery and clear gaps in his education but he's also shown to be pretty damn insightful

me a while ago: astarion and zeke had a weird starting relationship—astarion trying to manipulate zeke, basically a virgin (unless you count the weird shit with gortash pre-game) at this point who’s sexually into astarion almost exclusively because of the biting aspect, with sex but eventually they realize that they’re both just so fucking lonely and need/want friendship and not sex from each other and while everything they do is kind of new and awkward for both of them they quickly become annoying as hell besties.
