Dear Duke of Wellington,
I believe it is time for diplomacy. How about you retreat and we make peace and as a reward, you can choose one of the Marshals as a security/companion/whatever you wish to do with him?
Best regards
Charles Maurice de Talleyrand-Périgord
talleyrand you wish to tell me you will simply hand over a marshal of the empire ? so i could , in theory , make soult my personal catgirl ? forgive me if i am skeptical ...
... regardless , why can ' t you yourself retreat and give great britain a marshal as compensation for the chaos you frogs have spread ?

Marie Prevost
flickr
Marie Prevost by Truus, Bob & Jan too! Via Flickr: French postcard by A.N., Paris in the Les vedettes de cinéma, series, no. 1. Photo: Universal Film. Marie Prevost (1898-1937) was an American silent screen actress. Born in Ontario, Canada, as Mary Bickford Dunn, Prevost was still a child when the family moved to the US. First, the Dunn settled in Denver, Colorado, then in Los Angeles. Mary was hired as a secretary but in the meantime she sought work in the cinema environment. Mack Sennett, also of Canadian origin, entrusted her with the role of an exotic "French girl" and inserted her into her Bathing Beauties, with the stage name of Marie Prevost. In 1919, Marie was secretly married to Sonny Gerke, a young man from high society, but the marriage failed after only six months, because Gerke did not have the courage to tell his mother that he had married an actress. Fearful of the bad publicity resulting from a divorce, Marie remained married until 1923, always keeping everyone unaware of her marriage. One of Prevost's first successful films was Love, Honor, and Behave (Richard Jones, Erle Kenton, 1920), alongside another Sennett protégé, George O'Hara. After a series of small roles in which she played the part of the young, innocent sexy girl, in 1921 Marie signed a contract with Universal after getting the attention of Irving Thalberg, who decided to make her a star and organized for her a great advertising hype. He announced that Marie would star in two films, The Moonlight Follies (King Baggot, 1921) and Kissed (KIng Baggot, 1922), and sent her to Coney Island, where the actress publicly burned her bathing suit, signifying the end of her "bathing" days. At Universal, Marie only got light comedy roles. When the contract expired, Jack Warner had her signed for Warner Bros, recognizing $ 1,500 a week. Alongside actor Kenneth Harlan as Tony, Marie played Gloria in The Beautiful and the Damned (Sidney Franklin, 1922), based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's bestseller on two idle spendthrifts who do not know how to cope with money running out. To publicize the film, the production company announced that the actors would get married during filming on the set. The advertising launch worked and the studios were flooded with letters and gifts for the spouses. But when in the Los Angeles Mirror the story of Prevost's earlier secret marriage appeared: "Marie Prevost will become bigamist if she marries Harlan", Warner immediately took charge of the annulment of that marriage, so Harlan and Marie could marry. Despite the bad publicity, The Beautiful and Damned was successful. By consequence, Ernst Lubitsch wanted Marie as a co-host for his film The Marriage Circle (1924), with Adolphe Menjou, Florence Vidor and Monte Blue. Lubitsch said that Prevost was one of the few actresses in Hollywood who knew how to underplay comedy to achieve the maximum effect. At Warner's in the mid-1920s, Prevost would star in comedies and dramas with Harrison Ford [the silent actor], Monte Blue, Matt Moore, Douglas Fairbanks jr., and Harlan. In 1926, after Warner had decided not to prolong the contracts of Harlan and Prevost, the Canadian actress lost her mother - who, in a car with actress Vera Steadman and producer Al Christie - was killed in an accident in Florida. Devastated by her mother's death, but also because of her loos of work, Marie's marriage deteriorated, she began to drink and soon slipped into alcoholism. In 1927, she separated from her second husband, and despite a reconciliation in between, she divorced him altogether in 1929. To overcome the crisis, Prevost threw herself completely at work. After seeing her in The Beautiful and Damned, in 1928 Howard Hughes wanted her to star in The Racket. The two had a brief relationship but Hughes soon left her and Marie fell into a deepening depression. Her last feature film would be The Racket. She began to gain weight and could no longer control either food or alcohol. In 1934 her financial situation became dramatic. To find work again, he faced drastic diets that further weakened her. On January 21, 1937, Marie Prevost died of a heart attack due to malnutrition and acute alcoholism. Her body was found only two days later, due to the continuous and insistent barking of her dachshund dog. A bellhop came into the house and found her lying face down on the bed, legs marked by the dog's teeth, which had tried to wake her by biting her. The funeral at the Memorial Cemetery in Hollywood was paid by Joan Crawford: in addition to Crawford, Clark Gable, Wallace Beery and Barbara Stanwyck participated. Her poor case prompted the Hollywood community to create in the early 1940s the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital to provide medical care for employees of the television and motion picture industry. [ sokolov shook their head to move the ivory hair from their eyes to get a better look at lenoir - to ensure they were not properly losing it this time - though overall seemed quite unfazed . their concerns laid not with the fact there was some creature in front of them , but rather with they had to converse with it
this was very clearly not davout ( or hopefully not davout ) , though it was not very clear if it knew davout or if it just sort of ... happened to occupy his residence in what appeared to be his absence
they took a few more moments to think before deciding that , as much as they wanted to avoid it , the best course of action would be to ask ... ]
... would you happen to know marshal davout ?
[ after a while of galloping mindlessly around in an attempt to locate davout , sokolov stumbled upon an estate that fit what bernadotte had described to them
they sighed as they trotted towards the entrance and slid off their horse to leave it on the front pathway and began to mentally prepare themselves for some kind of interaction with another human being
it took multiple moments for their anxieties to calm enough for them to walk up and knock thrice on the door
they stood back about a metre before beginning to roll on their heels whilst fiddling with their package as they awaited a response ]
@france-hater
Fortunately for the silver-haired aide, Lenoir wasn't too far from the door. Arms still holding today's batch of letters, the corvid-turned-man boy peered at the fidgety figure through the window in a rather creepy fashion and swiftly made his way over to the front door. Lenoir―perhaps forgetting how doors (and decorum) worked at that moment― stuck his face through the material, his head phasing through it as if it was a mere illusion. What Sokolov was seeing right now was definitely not who he was looking for, but a mysterious "man" dripping with unknown dark substance and wearing a stern expression; an unspoken "state your business" type of expression.
... Staring right at his very being.

[ sokolov was reading ( napping with a book on their face ) when an abrupt CRASH ! awoke them
snapping up from the hay that had been resting their head and disturbing bucephalus in the process , they clambered to their feet and whispered a quick " извини , буцефа́л ... " - to which the stallion responded with a flippant neigh and the theft of sokolov ' s spot of hay
locating the source of the sound was no tricky task ; the initial crash had been followed by groans and curses echoing through the previously empty halls . great . others were here
now far less enthusiastic about learning what on earth had occurred , sokolov trudged into the room of where they believed the intruders to be , and good lord ... what a scene ...
they gawked at the tangled limbs laying amidst the remains of what was bernadotte ' s dining table ; the candles and cutlery that once lined the glass , readily awaiting guests , now found themselves scattered and shattered beyond salvation
their open mouthed , open eyed expression followed the mess to the men and simply stared in silence
one wore the red of the british - between that and his streaky - but fluffy - brown hair , he was unmistakably wellesley ; the other , however , sokolov would have mistook bernadotte if it weren ' t for the russian green and blue he donned
as wellesley untangled himself from the man with the ebony curls and attempted to stand , they realised it was bagration who stay laid on the floor
wordlessly , sokolov extended a hand to the prince and pulled him to his feet as wellesley began to vocalise his complaints ]
how the devil did i end up here ? where even is here ?
[ the brit inquired , anger from being ripped away from his previous activities seeping its way into his question
sokolov gave him a look of something like " how on earth do you expect me to know ? " as they dusted off bagration , who in turn had his own queries ]
yes ... that . where are we ? who are you ?
[ they stepped back and assessed how best to answer questions of which they themself were asking too ... it appeared they had not intruded by choice and instead were some sort of teleported - similar to how bernadotte navigated his realm ... but ... could the realm teleport others ... ?? why these two ?? why when bernadotte was away ... ]
my name is karp sokolov [ they began quietly , bowing quickly ] i am an aide - de - camp of jean - baptiste bernadotte ' s , you are currently in what was his realm ' s dining room
[ after a moment , wellesley quirked a brow and raised his hands to his hips ]
well then , where is the lad ?
[ sokolov opened their mouth to speak again , though no noise was heard . they knew the words they wished to say would sound absurd ... it was absurd , really . this whole situation was absurd . perhaps with that in perspective , the likeliness of them believing them would be increased ... ]
... he ' s ...
... well he ' s out with davout
[ some audible representation of the men ' s flabbergasted reaction followed their words before they properly piped up ]
surely you jest ? [ bagration interjected , leaving wellesley looking at him in faux offense as he planned to say the same ]
well ... no ...
i do believe davout invited him to dinner , i haven ' t seen him since
...
it matters not , though . i ' m sure he shall return soon and be able to address ... this ...
... until then , i see no harm in you making yourselves at home
[ sokolov spoke swiftly , making no offer to the men to fetch them if they needed them . they had no interest in being forced to see others outside of necessity and were attempting to wrap this interaction up in favour of returning to their beloved stables
after a moment ' s pause - of which the other two were surely spending attempting to formulate responses - sokolov pounced on the opportunity to silently excuse themself and slip off to see their stallion
to this , bagration and wellesley exchanged lost looks
this was going to be ...
... interesting ]

🐾 hai :3 update ! bagration of @god-of-the-army & wellesley of @wellingthighs are joining bernadotte on here for the time being xP
the blogs are still up but will not be used until i am ready & confident enough in my portrayals of the two to return them to their separate blogs
interaction with them will be all the same though ! please just specify whether your asks & such will be directed at bernadotte , sokolov , bagration , or wellesley :3 ( even if it ' s just colouring your ask their respective colour ! )
