been thinking about chronic pain kenny this morning
about how on bad pain days butters will cuddle him until he feels better
about how when he eventually gets mobility aids, jimmy suggests him to decorate them, and they go buy stickers together
about kenny saying "i fell" about his bruises, everyone thinking it's an excuse for abuse, but he did indeed fall
about kyle and stan standing up for him against cartman
about his friends accomodating him and helping him out whenever he needs it
about his siblings staying with him on bad days when butters can't
about him not getting better, but slowly becoming a lot happier and getting the support he deserves<3

BLACK CLOVER BROTHER TIER LIST!!!
This is really chaotic
Also it's my opinion, if you disagree that's totally fine, but you won't change my mind
So starting from the bottom, the D tier, we obviously have Solid, only started respecting his younger sister after it turned out she's much stronger than him and saved their whole family, bullied her before and was a bitch. He may have a neutral/decent relationship with his other siblings but that's because they were also bitches to Noelle
Langris is in the D tier too for obvious reasons, like sorry, but that's true. Maybe bro changed later, maybe he even held hands with his brother and fought by his side later, but that's only because Finral was a good brother to him, so fuck Langris
In the C tier we have Nozel. AND DON'T TRY TO CHANGE MY MIND. I get that he couldn't tell anyone about the curse, but what's that gotta do with letting his younger siblings THAT HE HAS POWER OVER bully Noelle??? AND JOINING THEM?????? Bro said he wanted to protect her, but than didn't protect her from her own family who she should feel safe with. No one can make me like you, Nozel Silva. Byakuya Kuchiki did it better.
I also placed Baro in the C tier, maybe because I don't really remember this arc, but I think he wasn't a good brother? But I wouldn't say he was the worst. I DON'T REMEMBER, SORRY.
Now we're starting with the B tier, which is a tier for people who are brothers but I can't really rate them? Maybe they didn't act really 'brotherly'??
(I know that now you're probably scared because you haven't seen a certain someone, but bear with me please)
We're starting this tier with Gordon, Gordon has a younger sister, they seem to like eachother, are really similar and that's all we know. So he's in the middle.
Next we have Neige who I also may not remember but he listened to and trusted his brother, so idk what to do with him, but I won't just ignore him here 🙄🙄 Kay, next
Kiato. Once again, him and Kahono have a close relationship, but we can't really say something about what kind of brother he is from that, maybe they just get along well. So middle tier for him.
Next is Kirsch. The guy is a beauty obsessed narcissist and Mimosa doesn't like him, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's a bad brother?? And even tho I didn't pay much attention to him I don't think we see him interact with his sister much?? And that's the reasoning behind this
Than we have Lumier, who's also a brother even tho I almost forgot (I keep forgetting who's sister Tetia was 💀). And I mean we either saw him with Licht, or Licht with Tetia during the flashbacks so we can't say much about his skills in being a brother, they just had a good relationship
And last in this tier we have the Zogratis brothers, Dante and Zenon. Well they are bad people, but it doesn't mean they're bad brothers. Once again. IDK WHAT TO SAY ABOUT THEM, NEXT TIER
This tier is special.
It's the Gauche tier.
Putting aside the way he acts and reacts to his sister, he might be too obsessive about her, like not letting Asta talk to her, howEVER, THE WAY HE GAVE HER A MIRROR THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE FOR COMMUNICATION BUT ACTUALLY IT'S ALSO TO PROTECT HER?? THIS IS SO CUTE, COME ON.
Every time I think about them I curse Tabata that he made Gauche the way he is because if he didn't have those disgusting reactions to her I woul probably love his character.
HE WOULD LITERALLY BE THE TYPE OF BROTHER WHO'S COLD TO EVERYONE BUT HIS LITTLE SISTER, THAT'S CUTE, GUYS
We also have two honorable mentions, and those are one, Magna Swi-
NO IT'S NOT JUST BECAUSE I WANTED TO INCLUDE HIM, THIS GUY IS SUCH AN OLDER BROTHER MATERIAL TO NOELLE AND ASTA IT'S CRAZY
It's one of the reasons I love him 😞😞
The other honorable mention is Klaus, Klaus is also older brother material for many (like four kids at best), love him
Moving on to the A tier, starting with a questionable choice that is Asta and Yuno.
Maybe they're not really brothers, but they are brothers to me. They irritate eachother any chance they get but at the same time we can see that they are really invested in the rivaly, like most of the times if not all we see Yuno smile is when he's talking to Asta, they're so brothers, THEY SHARE A BIRTHDAY
Next we have (manga spoiler) Nacht who I ALMOST FORGOT ABOUT BECAUSE HE WASN'T IN THE TIER LOST I MADE TO PREPARE MYSELF??? But he goes to the A tier because yeah. I don't like this guy, but his backstory with his brother is so sad AND THE WAY THEY COMPERED NACHT AFTER MORGEN'S DEATH TO NIGHT WITHOUT A MORNING KILLS ME. HE LOVED HIS BROTHER SO MUCH, I CAN'T :((
Another manga spoiler, but my dearest Yami Sukehiro???
BRO WAS A GREAT BROTHER, HE TOOK ICHIKA FISHING AND AWAY FROM THEIR FATHER
Too bad Ichika saw him as the worst man alive later 😀😀 CAN'T WAIT FOR THEM TO INTERACT IN THE UPCOMING CHAPTERS
(end of manga spoilers)
We also have Fuegoleon in the A tier, because we can see that Leo admires him a lot and we can also see that Fuegoleon cares.
When it comes to him being Mereoleona's brother however-
I meam he's the victim of having an older sister I guess, bro had to fight for his life- (I love Mereoleona sm)
Leo's also in the A tier, like come on, he cares so much IDK WHAT TO SAY IT'S 11 PM SORRY, BUT HE DESERVES THE SPOT.
Now moving to S tier!!!!
We have three characters here
One of them iss
En
En Ringard who appeared in likeee
Idk, not many episodes, but he was so brother that he brothered kids that weren't his siblings
Also insulted Solid, so good job 🥰🥰
Second in the S tier is (manga spoiler) Morgen (almost forgot about him too even tho I'm literally after writing about Nacht???) BRO LITERALLY SACRIFICED HIMSELF FOR HIS BROTHER, NO BETTER WAY TO SHOW HIS LOVE FOR HIM IMO, MORGEN AND NACHT MAKE ME SAD SOMETIMES, I HATE HOW THEY HAVE TO FIGHT BECAUSE OF THAT BITCHASS LUCIUS
(end of manga spoiler)
And the third one is Finral
Finral's only mistake as a brother was leaving, so I still think he deserves a S tier in his brothering skills
Finral never hated Langris even tho that bitch was mean as hell, FINRAL WENT AND SAVED LANGRIS POSSESSED BY AN ELF AFTER HE HOLED HIM??? ONE OF MY FAV FINRAL MOMENT IN THE WHOLE ANIME, I LOVE HOW THEY BOTH PASSED OUT AND HELD HANDS, I LOVE FICTIONAL SIBLINGS AGHHHHHHHHHH
That's it, thanks for reading this bullshit with possible mistakes, typos, and grammatically incorrect sentences. Also possible information I watched this shit one year ago.
Tier list in case someone forgot:
S: Finral, En, Morgen
A: Fuegoleon, Leopold, Nacht, Yami, Asta, Yuno
Honorable mentions: Magna and Klaus
Gauche tier
B: Kiato, Gordon, Lumiere, Kirsch, Neige, Dante, Zenon
C: Nozel, Barro
D: Langris, Solid

Pride & Prejudice || Leopold Mountbatten x Reader
Summary: You're an actress auditioning for theatre production of Pride & Prejudice and Leopold finds you practicing your lines.
a/n: Okay so, I need more leopold being an actor and cute moments so this was born. Full confession. I have never watched or read Pride & Prejudice so I am very sorry if I messed up anything aksdfhl. Anyways i hope u like it!!!
Tumblr media
The fire escape has to be Leopold's favorite place. He sits on the small chair and watches the bustling city below him. Overwhelming is an understatement when it comes to the last couple weeks.
Falling into the future sounds like a work of fiction, yet it was his reality. Adjusting hasn’t been the easiest but he’s lucky to have Kate and Charlie and well, you.
“Do you think I could have ever considered marrying the man who has ruined, perhaps forever, the happiness of my beloved sister?” Leopold perks up at the sound of your voice.
You’re Kate's neighbor, kind of. You live below her. Leopold has seen you a few times, mostly when you lock yourself out of your apartment and need to climb through Kate's fire escape. He knows you’re an actor like Charlie but in the day time you work at a coffee shop.
You served him once or twice when he came to visit you. Your knowledge of theater is extensive and Leopold always had an interest in the stage so conversation came easy. You also loved movies, something he was completely unfamiliar with. He remembers your eyes lighting up at the very idea of showing him your favorite films. A soft smile across his face as he recalls your many movie nights. Though he didn’t quite understand every movie, he could care less when you were so passionate about each and every one of them.
“You arrogantly and unjustly maneuvered Mr. Bingley away from Jane. Can you deny it?” The dialogue catches his attention, you must be practicing for a show. He climbs down the fire escape to your apartment.
“Your manner…Ugh!” You fall back onto your couch as you throw the sides onto the coffee table.
“I’m never going to get this right.” You groan helplessly.
“I thought you sounded lovely.” You let out a small scream as you hear another voice. Turning your head you see Leopold sitting on your fire escape.
“Leo! What have I said about knocking?”
“My apologies.” He climbs through the window and walks over to you. He looks at the pieces of paper and reaches down to pick it up.
“Pride and Prejudice, I had no idea they turned this into a play.” He flips through some of the pages. He remembers reading the book and enjoying it quite a bit.
“Have you gotten the part?” You scrunch your face as you shake your head.
“No. Auditions are next week. I…” You hesitate to continue but he smiles softly and you cave instantly.
“I wanted to audition for Elizabeth but a couple friends told me I’d probably be a better Charlotte.”
Not that you had anything against the character and a part is a part no matter how small, but you wanted to play more than a side character. Leopold's brows furrow as he sets down the script.
“Nonsense, do not listen to them. I think you would make a perfect Elizabeth.” He compliments sincerely. Of course you would, he thinks. You’d be perfect in any role.
“Thanks.” Your eyes drift to the sides on the table. Leopold stands with his arms behind his back, even in casual clothing he radiates this aura unlike anything you’ve seen.
“You know Leo,” You smile as an idea pops into your head. “I think you should audition too.” Picturing him as Mr. Darcy is easy. After he did his butter commercial, you realized he was a natural for acting and with his background, he’d be perfect for period pieces. Not to mention how handsome he is. You’re sure the director would be tripping over himself to get Leopold a role. Leopold seems uncertain at your suggestion.
“Here,” You pick up the sides and hand him the one for Mr. Darcy. He skims over the lines and frowns.
“I do not recognize this.”
“Oh yeah, they’re from the movie. The director wanted to include his big monologue and the kiss.” You explain, making a mental note to show him the movie later.
“I understand wanting to take creative liberties and all but…” Maybe he’s a stickler for the classics but he isn’t exactly fond of changing such a well written book.
“Just give it a try.” He sighs and stands a bit taller.
“You are too generous to trifle with me. I believe you spoke with my Aunt last night, and it has taught me to hope as I had scarcely allowed myself before.” He looks up from the script and you give him an encouraging smile.
“If your feelings are still what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and wishes are unchanged, but one word from you will silence me forever.” You want to melt under his gaze. It’s not fair how easily the words flow out of his mouth. How naturally charming he is.
‘“If, however, your feelings have changed…” To your surprise he sets down the paper and walks closer to you, holding out his hand to you. Hesitantly you take his hand, unsure of where he was going with this. He pulls you up, his eyes never leaving yours.
“I could, I would have to tell you, you have bewitched me body and soul,” His hand gently grabs your chin as he steps closer to you. You stand frozen in complete shock. The script is long forgotten, the pages having fallen from his hands.
“And I love and love and love you. And never wish to be parted from you from this day on.” He finishes his monologue as a whisper. You part your lips but no words come out, wanting to hold onto this moment for longer.
“I believe you mentioned a kiss,” He mumbles.
“It’s uh, towards the end…” He hums and without another word he gently kisses you.
Your eyes flutter closed as you wrap your arms around his neck, pulling him closer. His lips are so soft, so gentle yet so passionate. One of his hands snakes to your lower back, guiding you even closer to him. The kiss breaks and you’re left breathing heavily, smiles on both of your faces.
“You’re really good at this. Maybe you should become an actor.” You say jokingly. He chuckles and brushes his thumb along your cheek.
“I was not acting,” He admits.
“You are truly, utterly, bewitching and If you were to accept, I would die a happy man.” Jesus, he knows how to talk.
“I would be an idiot to say no to you.” You grab his face and crash your lips onto his. He steps back but quickly matches your fervor.
“Join me for dinner tonight, so I can court you properly.” He says breathlessly, his face slightly flushed.
“Properly? So you don’t normally kiss a girl before dinner?” You say teasingly.
“No, But for the sake of theater, perhaps I can make an exception.” That’s as forward as you’ve ever seen from Leopold, an innocent smile on his face but a clear spark in his eyes. Smirking, you glance at the scattered pages on the ground.
“Good, because I think we need to run the scene again and again.”

Did some sketches yesterday for more on this AU, lowkey I’m loving Kenny with long hair
Some details:
In this Kenny isn’t a princess but is still in the circle of high nobility (also specifically is referred to as a lady and goes by she/her, but still has a male physique, cause gender-fluid Kenny my beloved), meanwhile Leopold is her faithful attendant after she rescued him from the gallows, set for execution after tragedy fell on his house. He vowed his life to her and is one of the very few to know her darker secrets

Chaos Victor, my beloved, I had this particular scene for this fic written since FOREVER AGO!! It was one of the first pieces I wrote, I am SO glad I finally got to it in my story 😭😭
Excerpt from Chapter 12 of Be Nice to Me featuring Butters being Victor Chaos:
“Hey, guys,” Cartman reaches over to sit in between Kenny and Leopold when suddenly, both Clyde and Craig block him.
“Woah, dude, hold up,” Clyde warns.
“Yeah, man, trust me, you do not want to do that,” Craig slowly shakes his head no.
“Here, man, sit here,” Clyde scooches over, making some room between himself and Leopold.
“Uuuh,” he skeptically looks around, confused, but ultimately concedes, “yeah, sure.” He takes a seat and asks, “Soooo… what the fuck was that?”
Kyle sits across from him.
“It’s a long story,” Craig dismisses, getting back to his lunch.
“I guess we should catch him up to speed on it, huh?” Leopold suggests.
“On what?” Cartman arches an eyebrow.
"Well, for one thing, Leo," Kyle pointedly sends a glare at the seemingly innocent blonde's direction, Leo shrinks a bit at the stare. He nervously laughs while Kyle continues, "got really into crypto. So into it, in fact, that he ended up making his own coin. The buttcoin."
Kenny giggles at the name. It gets him everytime.
"E-everyone in town kept i-investing in it. It became quite the b-bi-b-bi-big ordeal," Jimmy adds.
"Our idiot parents even got seriously crippling loans to buy into it," Stan scoffs, recalling the stupidity of his father and the disappointment of his mother.
"Mine put out a loan on our car and house." Clyde dejectedly frowns.
"Mine their mansion," Tolkien sighs.
"All of them did, th-they're all m-mm-m-morons," Jimmy quips.
"We were all gonna end up homeless thanks to Leo," Craig blankly points.
Cartman’s eyes widen. “Holy shit, really?” He’s honestly impressed. He didn’t know Butters had it in him.
"Aw, I said I was real sorry, fellas." He meekly looks down at his knuckles, tapping them together.
"Kenny even threatened to tell his parents he was Victor Chaos, the guy that made Buttcoin, but his parents were happy to find out their kid was a billionaire and didn't ground him for it," Stan adds.
"We had to hire Bitcoin scammers from Russia to hack into Leo's account and return everyone's money," Kyle summarizes.
"Yeah and he got hella grounded after that," Clyde laughs while pointing at Leopold.
"Yeah," Leo looks down, "my parents were awful sore with me."
"Pfft, no way dude, that's so weak," Cartman taunts, but then wonders, “okay, but how does that have anything to do with what just happened?”
"So before that Kenny had this whole big fight with him, right?” Clyde keeps going.
Kenny avoids eye contact, still embarrassed about what happened.
“He threatened that he wouldn't be his friend anymore if he kept selling Buttcoin, and the Asian girls saw it and drew a bunch of dramatic yaoi art about it.”
"Yeah, my parents were real upset about me being gay when they found out," Leo pouts.
"My dad wasn't too happy about it either …" Kenny mutters, his eyes seemingly pensive.
"Yeah but then everyone started giving him money and he became pretty pushy about it," Stan reminds him. Kenny looks down at his food, seemingly deep in thought.
"Leo's dad sent him away to some anti-gay all boy boarding school again and Kenny felt kinda guilty so we decided to help break him out. Apparently, the boarding place was experimenting on kids, trying to make them all super powered gays to use in the army or something. We let one out and they blew the place up," Kyle nonchalantly explains.
"Yeah, kind of a dick move to not wait until we were fully out. I mean, we did save him after all," Stan fusses, still miffed about it.
"How did we survive the blast again?" Leopold tries to remember but for the life of him can’t.
"I shielded you guys…" Kenny answers under his breath, barely audible, his chin resting on the palm of his hand.
"What was that, Ken?" Leo asks.
“Actually, Kenny, where did you go after the explosion? I can't remember,” Kyle curiously asks.
Kenny takes a deep breath in before letting it out, centering himself. "I was just knocked out for a bit," he lies.
“You were?” Stan questions, still unable to properly remember.
“I'm here now so it doesn't matter, continue on with what happened,” he motions with his hand to continue, seemingly not in the best of moods.
“Huh, well,” Stan notices but decides it’s best to drop it and keep telling the story, “Leopold’s dad was just happy to see his son alive and decided to accept him no matter how gay he was.”
"Which I'm not! The stupid Asian girls made me," Butters protests with a huff.
"Now you know how we felt," Craig says.
"Yeah, but you guys are, like, actually a thing now so…" Stan gestures at the two.
"Yeah, you can't complain, I mean, look at you," Tolkien points at Craig who has his arm around Tweek while Tweek's resting his head on top of his shoulder.
"W-well, that may be true, but we can still complain about how it happened!" Tweek tugs on his crew neck.
"But Kenny loves tits… and pussy! Like, to an unhealthy extent," Cartman stares at the two blonds, dumbfounded at the turns of events that took place in his absence.
Kenny shrugs, simply continuing to eat his lunch.
“.... My dad did tell me that everyone’s at least a little bit gay once,” Stan states, glancing a bit at Tolkien while speaking.
“Yeah but your dad’s dumb as fuck, dude,” Kyle casually remarks.
“Hey, he can be right sometimes! … On occasion,” Stan looks down at his lunch tray, not fully believing what he’s saying himself.
“Yeah, I think my dad said that once, too,” Tolkien tries to casually agree, also averting eye contact.
Stan lightly blushes.
“No, you guys are just f-f-fa-fa-fags,” Jimmy smiles.

Someone should truly speak bout the “later wife effect” that seems to have haunted historical figures since times long forgotten.
To break it down to you, what I call the “later wife effect” occurs when a male historical figure suddenly looses his beloved wife (most of the times, his first one) in an untimely and tragic manner -either by a childbirth gone wrong, an accident or a sudden illness-, turning the once mirthful husband into a grief-stricken widower. Perhaps because he lacks succession from said wife, because he has to provide spares to his heir, or even because an alliance is needed, he is forced to marry again; but the love never arises fully, their marriage turns into a bound of duty, and no matter what she does, or how loved she is outside their marriage: the later wife will forever be under the shadow of the first, a perfect idol, immortalised by her early death.
The “later wife effect” knows various levels:
In 1673, Leopold I, Holy Roman Emperor, lost his beloved Margaret Theresa when she was yet to turn twenty two and with child. Their seven years of union had produced four children, but only a daughter lived when Margaret Theresa died, and he went on to marry twice again; and even though he would sorrowfully remark that neither Claudia Felicitas of Austria or Eleonore Magdalene of Neuburg, his following brides, were “not like my only Margaretha”, his marriages were remarkably happy and so was he. This could be one of the mildest examples.
The middle ground would be when the marriage with the later wife is dutiful and polite, but loveless. Frederick William II of Hesse married Alexandra Nikolaevna, but soon lost her due to complications of childbirth. He would remarry nine years later to the beautiful and lively Anna of Prussia, and even though they eventually had six children, their marriage was notably cold and unhappy. Leopold I of Belgium widowed of his wife, Charlotte of Wales, soon after she gave birth to a dead son; fifteen years later, know king of Belgium, he took Louise-Marie of Orléans hand in marriage; she was shy, delicate, witty and partook in many charitable causes, earning the love of the Belgians, and the respect of her husband, with whom she had a fruitful and tranquil union; but Leopold would not be faithful to her, committing adultery with a much younger Arcadie Claret, who was said to resemble the long gone princess Charlotte. She perished a year after he had a son with Claret, and her dead did not stop the relationship between the two of them.
More unhappy cases of this effect would be those of Maximilian I, Holy Roman Emperor, and his descendant, Joseph II. When still an archduke, Maximilian married Mary of Burgundy and loved her much, a love so legendary it lived through generations in the art commissioned by their descendants. But the fairytale would come to an abrupt end when, after five years of marriage, Mary would find her untimely dead while pregnant with their fourth child, after her horse threw her off the saddle. Maximilian was most heartbroken and, after a failed marriage attempt with the young duchess Anne of Brittany, he would wed Bianca Maria Sforza. The empress from Milan was deemed “more beautiful than Mary” by Maximilian, but neither her beauty not her many charms of her would soften his callous attitude towards his wife. Having endured a miscarriage during the first months of their union, Bianca Maria, the once most sought after princess in Europe, had become a ghost in her own court, severely neglected by her husband, who refused to attend to her own funeral nor dedicate a gravestone for her. Similarly, after the traumatic passing of his wife, Isabella of Parma, Joseph II was forced to remarry to Maria Josepha of Bavaria, who he did not found as attractive as the late archduchess. He grew so disgusted of her that the same devoted husband that has been by Isabella’s bedside now commanded to put a wall between his balcony and hers, so that he could not see her, distressing old servants in the palace so much with his cold attitude that some left. When, after two years of marriage, her life was robbed by smallpox -the same ailment that had taken Isabella’s life four years before-, Joseph declared she had been worthy of respect and that he repented his coldness. However, he refused to visit her bedside and did not appear during her burial.
This should not be confused with what I call “the younger wife effect”, which takes place when a widowed historical figure, who had long remained unwed by choice, suddenly takes marriage to a beautiful and much younger person that is described to bring happiness to his once lonely and dull life. This would perfectly be exemplified with prince Maximilian of Saxony’s marriage with princess Maria Luisa Carlota of Parma, almost twenty one years since the passing of his wife (princess Carolina of Parma).

I never like blaming single people for...not that it makes me hate people like Hitler or Andrew Jackson or Ronald Reagan or John Calvin or Oliver Cromwell or King Leopold or honestly pick a fucking European Monarch any less, they could all eat my fucking trench knife, but i do feel like laying the blame for massive world-changing things solely at their feet is lazy and dangerous.
Let's demonstrate with the Hitler scenario, cause that one's the easiest. The Holocaust did not happen because Hitler was the most evil man who has ever lived. The Holocaust happened because violent antisemitism, eugenics, racism, and various other forms of racial, ethnic, and religious discrimination were so fucking intense and so normalized, The Allied Powers had effectively fucking broken Germany after WWI with the bill for reparations, the board was set, the pieces were in place, fear and hatred and desperation were at dizzying heights, and Germany became a perfect place for political extremism to take hold. Hitler was not the Devil. He was just some fucking guy. If it wasn't him, it would have been someone else. Oh, sure, the details may have varied, may have been fucking worse because for all that the man gets hyped up, oration was really the only thing he was competent at. But something like it was bound to happen. Then, of course, there's the small matter that Adolf Hitler did not walk house to house killing 6 million Jews and...estimates are all over the god damned board for non-Jews killed in the Holocaust, i've seen as low as 5 million and as high as 11, i think it largely depends on what the person in question counts as part of the Holocaust, but you take my meaning. Anyway, he did not walk house to house killing all those people with his bare hands. The Holocaust happened because things were set in motion. Because normal people participated, collaborated, looked the other way, ignored what was happening, aided and abetted it, didn't believe it was happening.
Ronald Reagan, *terrific* fucking lad, wasn't he, but he did not wave his magic President Wand and dictate American fiscal policy for the last 40 years by himself, did he? Even after everything, the man is STILL beloved by so many people, Ronald Reagan is a national fucking hero. Andrew Jackson put his filthy signature at the bottom of the Indian Removal Act, but it was Congressmen elected by Johnny and Janey Normal White Neighbor who wrote the thing up.
And this is the problem. When we say Reagan did this, Jackson did that, Hitler committed the Holocaust because he was some kind of grotesque evil no one could possibly understand, we remove ourselves from history. We act as if the world is governed by the whims of distant madmen we have no control over, we act as if these things are stories with villains, we remove our own agency and make it seem apart from reality.
We make it seem like it could never happen again.
People will dismiss any and all comparisons to Hitler out-of-hand as unrealistic and juvenile because they've built up this mythologized fiction in their head of Hitler as some kind of legendary psychopath who enslaved Germany to his will with his army of faceless minions.
He was just...some fucking guy. Who was good at public speaking and loved his country.

You have probably already heard of the famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. But did you know that he had an equally talented sister who was sidelined?
This is her story.
A child prodigy
Maria Anna “Nannerl” Mozart (1751-1829) was born in Salzburg, Austria, to Anna Maria Mozart (née Perti) and composer Leopold Mozart. She was thus immersed in a musical environment from early on.
She began learning music at the age of 8. Like her little brother, Nannerl was a child prodigy and excelled at playing the harpsichord. But she wasn’t supposed to make a living out of it. Her musical education only aimed at increasing her value in the marriage market.
Between 1763 and 1766, she toured Europe with her brother. Nannerl was 12 and Wolfgang 7. They gave concerts in no less than eighty cities. Contemporary praised Nannerl’s musical abilities, calling her a “wonder”, “prodigy” or “virtuoso”. She could indeed play the most difficult pieces “with precision, incredible lightness, with perfect taste”. She was sometimes even billed first.
End of an artistic career
Nannerl helped write down some of her brother's compositions and wrote her own as well. Wolfgang was supportive and encouraged her. He frequently asked for her opinions on his work. She sent him at least one piece and he called it “beautiful”. Her father said nothing of it.
A musicologist made the hypothesis that Nannerl could have written two of Wolgang’s concertos for violin. Sadly, as far as we know, none of her music survived.
Nannerl, who referred to herself as an "obedient daughter", stopped touring and performing in public at 16. It was now time to prepare for marriage and her father now focused only on Wolfgang's musical talent.
A loveless marriage
Nannerl was 33 when she ultimately married an older aristocrat who already had five children from previous marriages and whom she didn't love. She had three children with him. She didn't completely give up on music and kept giving piano lessons.
After her father’s death, Nannerl managed to garner all of his estate. Her relationship with her brother became strained and their correspondence ceased after 1788.
Preserving her brother’s memory
Wolfgang died in 1791. Nannerl later encountered Franz Xaver Niemetschek’s biography of him and was deeply moved by it, learning of the difficult conditions he spent the end of his life:
“Herr Prof. Niemetschek's biography so completely reanimated my sisterly feelings toward my so ardently beloved brother that I was often dissolved in tears since it is only now that I became acquainted with the sad condition in which my brother found himself.”
She later helped Georg Niklaus von Nissen (who had married her brother’s widow, Constance) in writing a biography of Wolfgang by lending him an important collection of letters.
Nannerl became blind at the end of her life and died in 1829 at the age of 78.
Her fate leaves us wondering what she could have become in a more supportive environment and what her music could have sounded like.

Just shortly after I saw that the end is near the Grim Reaper showed up. 😭 (I forgot that Matilda and she had fulfilled their lifetime goals and where platinum in the old hood- I always wanted to cheat it but never did.) I will miss you, Angelika, my beloved Goth-queen and such a wonderful mom and grandma, even if kids have never been my plan for her but she gave me Leopold, the surprise Alien-kid.
