A segment on Queen Amelie’s Diamond Tiara from TVI’s interview with Infanta Maria Francisca.

The tiara was a wedding gift from Queen Amelie’s father-in-law, King Luís, in 1886. They show a picture of it with the other wedding gifts from the Portuguese royal family all made by the crown jewelers, Leitão & Irmão. On the right is a matching necklace from her mother-in-law, Queen Maria Pia, and on the left is a sapphire and diamond necklace from her husband, the future King Carlos.

I’ve never seen a picture of Queen Amelie wearing the matching necklace and it was most likely dismantled to create her Diamond Choker Necklace that is still with the former Portuguese royal family. She was photographed on at least one occasion wearing the sapphire necklace but I’m not sure what happened to it.

Any Portuguese speakers, does the jewelry expert, Eduardo Alves Marques, give any more information or say anything interesting?

A different aspect of primal that goes far overlooked because most people are into the chase. She doesn’t care for the hunt, she just wants to rip into you and eat you alive.

You found yourself over your girlfriend’s shoulder, this was a common occurrence, but this time you could feel the frustration radiating from her body. You were in for it but you just didn’t know how bad.

Alright I decided to go on a bit of a deep dive on the characters who wear heals and if they make sense or not.

First up is Tanks;

There is only one tank who is wearing heels and that is Junker Queen.

Honestly I don't see this being that difficult for her from what I've seen of her fighting style it's less movement based then other heroes, not only that but I could see these kind of heals being used to get leverage to climb things, not only that but these aren't as extreme as other characters. And to me when watching her cinematic they also seen a bit lower then they are in game. It also should be noted she's the only tank character who wears heals in her default design.

Now time for Support;

From what it looks like Mercy is the only support who wear heels (Moira might also be wearing heels but I've looked as closely as I can and it doesn't look like it), all I can say is...

Girl...

What are you doing? Like, she's a doctor, not only that but a big part of her abilities in canon is her mobility. And the heel looks like it got higher in her OW2 design. I don't know whether to be impressed or scared-

THE ACTUAL SIZE OF THE HEAL FOR OW2 GOT SMALLER TOO-

Again like with Junker Queen, it's not as bad as other characters height and width wise, but she's still one of the more mobile characters.

I think the reasoning for her wearing heals is because her melee was going to be like Zens? Like she was going to kick people? At the very least she is mostly flying/floating half the time she's being mobile so that makes this a little better?

Finally DPS;

Symmetra probably has the most extreme heal in the game;

The heel is tall and has a small width, however, in canon she is probably the least movement and combat based. We see her more on diplomatic missions then combat so it makes total sense as to why her outfit for missions would include heels. Honestly when she does go into combat I see this being a problem, but from what I've seen of her in canon combat she isn't very movement based in her fighting style.

Ashe's boots are probably one of the more stable high heals in game;

The heels themselves are high, though they have gone down in her OW2 design, but it's also thick and in very close range to the rest of the bottom of the shoe. Also she isn't as movement base as say, Widow and Cassidy, we seen her fight in canon and it's very stagnant, I could also see these heals being used to help her get onto and say on her bike. Again in canon she's not that much of a movement based fighter, and when she is moving around she's usually just on her bike.

Now for these dumbasses;

And Cassidy;

These two, in canon, are not only movement based fighter (Cassidy's less obvious but you see snippets of it in comics), but also stealth based fighters. At least with Angela she's not trying to hide her location. And specifically with Cassidy, we only ever see him use a bike in Deadlock, when he wasn't wearing heals, and after reunion, most of the time he's either in an Orca or using some other mode of transportation that doesn't require him to wear heels.

And the fact that both heel got taller after the OW2 redesign. Again the reason I find this funny is the fact that in lore, both of them are incredibly nimble and stealthy, not only that but they are both sniper based characters. There are so many reasons why they shouldn't be wearing heels, honestly more reason then why Angela shouldn't be wearing heels.

In conclusion, Widow, Cassidy and Angela are being the most dramatic and making things harder for themselves when wearing heels. Specifically Widow and Cassidy.

Oh how Amelie wished she had opened her mouth to say something to help. Barely sixteen, she was faced with death and loss. The sins of the past continued to haunt her. By the time she served Queen Caroline, George’s second wife, Amelie had specifically requested to not witness Prince Edward’s birth.

It was far too traumatizing to bear.

Caroline Amelie

Caroline Amalie became Queen of Denmark in 1839. She was the daughter of Duke Friedrich Christian of Augustenborg and Princess Louise Augusta. In 1815 she married Prince Christian Frederik, later King Christian VIII.

Caroline Amalie was highly engaged in different social and humanitarian issues and, among other things, she was behind the establishment of several orphanages. Because of her Augustenborg background, she was viewed with a certain distrust by many Danes during the national conflicts in Schleswig-Holstein. However, later in her life she gained much popularity. Caroline Amalie was interested in religious issues and became an important supporter of the Grundtvigian movement.

Caroline Amalie’s and Christian VIII’s marriage was a happy one, but the couple did not have any children. The successor to the Throne, Frederik, was from Christian’s first marriage to Charlotte Frederikke.
