PAC: 🧸
I’ve been so poor and so broke the past few years, and now that I have an income Idk how to act or what to spend money on because in my head I am still in such an act of fight or flight. Like I kinda want to buy a cute back to school fit, I kinda want to new crochet needles, I kinda want new bedding and I just am so indecisive abt it. IF YOU STRUGGLE WITH THE IMPOSTER SYNDROME OF HAVING MONEY AND HAVE FINANCIAL ANXIETY PLEASE THIS IS FOR YOU.
Disclaimer: please take what I say with a grain of salt and not as the gospel. I just want to share some ideas of practicing and giving advice using the medium as often as I can with school, work, and my own personal studies and practice. I know you all were NOT FEELING PARADIGMS AND AEONICS BUT I SWEAR I WILL DELIVER!! Liking and sharing does a lot and feel free to follow me else where as well 🫶

Truce 🧸
Four of Swords, Jupiter in the 3. of Libra, Chesed through Air
YOU ARE THE REASON YOU CAME INTO WEALTH DO NOT DOUBT IT. You saw the issue of what made you so poor and you solved it. Use this comfort to reflect on why you are so anxious. If you stay anxious you just deprive yourself from your victory.
The Fool 🃏
Pisces going to Aries, Uranus and Mercury, Air, Kether going to Chokmah
You never had any kind of wealth like this before and now you don’t know how to act and theres a lot of stress because there’s many different paths you can go down. Theres endless possibilities but some of them can have negative repercussions do not dive in blindly.
Valour 🪄
Mars in the 3. of Leo, Netzach through fire, seven of wands
You are being set up or your setting yourself up to face a challenge that will only make you stronger. (Saving for big investments like a house, higher education, moving in hopes of a better life.) This will fundamentally change you because it will be so hard but so worth it. You’re in a fighting state but it will be rewarded. The risk will be nothing comparable to the reward.

Babysitting
Morning, I actually wrote a HypnoWarren fic, sort of. They're already married by this point so
Note the fic also established Jasonnie so if you can't stand that uuuuh sorry bye
Hypno let out a sigh as he sunk into the giant, plush sofa in the living room. He had half a mind to turn on the TV, but after a morning filled with the joyful screams of children at the nearby kindergarten, he preferred the silence. Besides, the light was on over Warren’s door which meant he was currently recording. The less noise the better.
The silence kind of made him want to nap. Maybe just a quick one. He did have to wake up early to get ready, after all.
But just then he heard the faint creak of a door. Hypno glanced down the hall to see one of Warren’s doors open, the light up top going off.
One of his doors, because two smaller ones were built into the main door.
When Donatello built this apartment complex, he took great care to renovate all the flats to accommodate whatever mutants wanted to move in. So for the worm’s bedroom—in which all the furniture was designed for his small size to the point it was practically a house—had a door up top for him to hover out of, and a door on bottom for him to crawl out of.
The upper door opened this time, and Warren hovered into the hall on the little hover scooter that Donatello also built. The worm mainly just used it to get around the building. Otherwise he just sat on Hypno’s shoulder.
Warren looked like he was going to head to the bathroom, but then his gaze met Hypno’s and he smiled.
“You’re home earlier than I thought.” The scooter shot across the room and stopped next to the sofa. “How were the kids?”
“Eh, could have been worse.” Hypno didn’t hesitate to pick his husband up and put him on his shoulder. The hover scooter gently drifted down onto an empty cushion. “Got the new episode recorded?”
“You bet.” Warren beamed, hands on where his hips would be if he still had them. “I was excited to get to work on it this week. Breaking news, famous chef making a comeback with a new restaurant for mutants and yōkai alike.”
Hypno’s ears perked up. “Oh gosh, is the opening next week? We gotta go down and tell Rupert congrats.”
Warren waved a hand. “Way ahead of you. We can tell him on opening night, I got us a reservation. A romantic date and a chance to do a follow up report with a review. The listeners are gonna love it.”
‘Listeners’ referred to the hundreds of mutants and yōkai who tuned into Warren’s weekly news podcast. Not the same as being an anchorman, he often insisted, but it was familiar enough that he enjoyed it. He had fans again, and a means to earn them some extra income.
Plus, mutants and yōkai in the city had been complaining for a while about their lack of personal news outlets. It’s where Warren got the idea in the first place.
“I’m just proud of Rupert.” Hypno leaned back against the sofa. “Took him so long to give up all that crime stuff.”
“Yeah, well, even if Orange Boy hadn’t enticed him with that deal, I’m pretty sure the power houses those turtles turned into would have changed his mind.”
No kidding. Hypno was glad he and Warren started going on the mend years ago. After ruining Leo’s first magic show and having to work at a bagel shop to pay it off, the slider actually did something nice by giving Hypno some work recommendations. With a far more reliable and legal source of income, he and Warren didn’t have to stress too much about a living space.
And when Donnie built this first apartment complex, well, that just sweetened the deal. No insane rent costs. As long as you paid your portion of the utilities and for any damages you caused, the rent was rather low.
He supposed the owner of a very successful tech company didn’t really need the extra money.
“So, what’s the plan for the rest of the day?” Warren knocked Hypno’s top hat off and climbed up on his head. His tiny fingers played with the hippo’s hair. “I need to get to editing that audio, but I can do it tonight. Should we go to the park or something?”
Hypno thought about it for a bit, and was going to fire back a reply, when someone knocked on the door. He immediately turned his head to the right, forcing Warren to look that way as well.
“Who could that be?” The worm muttered. His tone obviously frustrated that they were interrupted.
Hypno got up. “Possibly just a neighbor who ran out of something in their spice cabinet.” It happened more than once. Especially considering that while mutant sightings were common these days, going to the grocery store was still an ordeal.
Hypno didn’t even peek outside before opening the door. He was a bit surprised to see Donatello standing there, but not by much. The turtle lived just a few doors down.
“Oh thank goodness you’re home.” Donnie's eyes looked absolutely exhausted as he closed them and clasped his hands together.
“Sure are, Flapjack,” Warren said. “Need a favor?”
“I know this is extremely short notice. But could the two of you watch Holly this afternoon?”
Now that did surprise Hypno. He knew Holly, of course. He’d seen the infant turtle more than once—mainly because her dads could not stop showing her off—but baby sitting?
“You sure you want us to do that?” Hypno pointed to himself.
Donnie groaned. “Look, Draxum is at work. Holly Blue and Jason are also at work and stuff has gone absolutely off the walls there. They need my help. The sooner I get over there the better so trying to drag one of my siblings over to watch her isn’t an easy option. You guys live right over here.”
Hypno didn’t know if it was worth bringing up their history considering they hadn’t fought in, what, a decade at least.
Still, “I don’t know all that much about infant care.”
Donnie kept running his hands over his face. “Not a problem. She doesn’t act like a typical infant. It’s super easy, I promise, if you guys are free at least.”
“Well—”
“We’re not doing it for free.” Warren mumbled.
“Warren.”
“What?”
“No, it’s fine.” Donnie waved a hand. “If you do this, I’ll waive your water bill for the month.”
The hippo balked at that. Not having to pay for water? That meant he could take as many long soaks in the tub as he wanted. He usually tried to limit it—despite how badly his skin needed it—due to, well, how much water he had to use per bath.
Warren must know exactly what he was thinking, because the worm snapped his fingers. “Deal. Show us what we’ve gotta do.”
“Sure.” The turtle nodded. “Grab anything you think you might need and meet me over there.” He turned and left.
Hypno wasn’t sure they’d need much, and they could always just hop back over here if they did, but Warren insisted they grab a couple of those canned coffee drinks just in case. He also insisted Hypno change out of his work clothes.
Yeah, that was fair.
Now with a much more casual button up, Hypno carried Warren and the coffees over to Donnie’s apartment. The door was propped open so they let themselves in.
Always so surreal how different it looked despite the similar floor layout. Where Hypno and Warren’s apartment was decorated wall to wall with posters and had silly nicknacks and props in every corner, Donnie and Jase’s apartment looked far more sleek. The fancy TV and speaker system, the massive massage recliner chair, and all the purples made it feel like something on a sci-fi themed cruise ship.
But as they followed Donnie to Holly’s room, the entire vibe shifted. At present, the tiny turtle baby mostly stayed in a personalized tank. Not that it was small by any stretch of the word. The tank was custom built, taking up half the room. The entire thing was built in a U shape—likely so you could reach her from anywhere while giving her plenty of space to move around. While some areas looked like a traditional tank, with sand, plants and water, the other half looked like a tiny bedroom. Blankets, pillows, and toys were scattered all over it.
Hypno wondered where the child even was, but the smallest squeak alerted him. He finally spotted her pressing her hands against the glass wall as Donnie reached in and picked her up.
She was definitely bigger than the last time Hypno saw her, but still tiny enough to fit in the turtle’s hand, and therefore Hypno’s as well.
“Okay,” Donnie began, eyes unfocused. “You guys know Holly. Holly, this is Hypno and Warren.”
The baby turtle didn’t even look in their direction. Her attention was completely fixed on her father.
“Good news, you don’t have to bottle feed her. She knows how to drink water and eat solid food, though I recommend you chop it up small for her. There’s a number of containers in the fridge labeled for her, just pick what you like.” Donnie pointed to a pair of bowls in one part of the tank, then a bottle that hung from the glass. “She has water in more than one location, food goes in that bowl.”
“Kinda sounding more like pet sitting than babysitting,” Warren mumbled.
Hypno gave his shoulder a sharp shrug to jostle his husband.
“What?”
“No, you’re right,” Donatello sighed. “But truthfully, even if the mechanics are different it’s not that far removed from raising a human baby. Moving on.” He pointed at Holly, more specifically at the cloth wrapped around her bottom half. “Diapers. We have to custom make them and they’re all cloth. We keep clean ones in that drawer.” He pointed to the dresser that was barely visible over the array of fabrics. Were those just the ones not yet cut up? “Used ones go in that hamper.” He pointed to what looked more like a trashcan than an actual laundry hamper. Probably for smell reduction. “Any questions so far?”
Warren asked, “Do we just leave her in the tank?”
“Pretty much. She’s allowed to wander around this room but only this room. We haven’t baby proofed the rest of the apartment.”
“So why call us?”
“Because she eats. A lot. And she can also get bored pretty easily. And also I just worry a lot about something going incredibly wrong if one of us aren’t around.” His eyes went so wide they looked like they might fall out. Then one of them twitched.
Hypno would suggest the guy take a nap, but that would probably be rejected immediately.
“It’s just the afternoon.” Donnie lowered Holly back into the tank. She let out a few high pitched squeaks of protest. “Jason and I should be back at six at the latest.”
Six? That was more like the whole day considering lunch hadn’t even passed.
But this did seem like a fairly low stress task. Make sure she didn’t hurt herself, toss around some magic to keep her entertained, order some delivery for them to eat?
And also, no water bill for the month.
“We’ve got it.” Warren answered. “Go do what you need to do.”
“Right.” Donatello nodded and went for the door. “You have my number if you have any questions or there’s an emergency or—”
“We’ve got it.” Warren insisted. “Go help your husband out.”
Another nod. Hypno peeked out into the hallway to watch Donnie leave. The turtle gave him a few looks, one more curious and the final one deathly serious. As if to give a brief warning of, “Nothing better happen to my daughter or else.”
And yeah, Hypno knew that. In fact, what worried him the most about this was if something did go wrong, Donatello could blast him and Warren into the next country.
It’d be fine. Low stress.
Hypno went back into the room and sat on the floor. At least there were plenty of cushions around here to use. Holly was already moving about her tank. She went straight for the big pool of water and dove right in.
“Yeesh, four-month old is already swimming.” Warren slid off Hypno’s shoulder and onto his lap. “I bet she’ll be walking in another month.”
Quite possible given that the turtle was already crawling.
“Did you put those coffees in the fridge when you came in?”
Hypno shook his head and got up. “Nah, let me go do that. I’ll locate the food too while I’m at it. Make sure I know where to find it.”
He found the cans still sitting on the small table in front of the sofa where he left them. Hypno picked them up and went to open the fridge. The frigid space was far more organized than his, but not to the point it looked unnatural. Donnie wasn’t kidding either, multiple containers had Holly’s name tapped on the top. Hypno picked up a couple to glance at the contents from the bottom. Looked like sardines, ham slices, and even peeled shrimp.
Hypno put them back and returned to the bedroom. Warren managed to pile some of the cushions together for him to climb up to look into the glass of the tank. Holly pressed herself against it as well, staring at him with her tiny eyes.
“Keeping her entertained, Love?” Hypno stood behind him.
Warren smiled when he looked back. “She seems to be enjoying the silly faces, at least. Why don’t you see how she reacts to some magic?”
Well, why not? Hypno leaned over the top of the tank. Holly almost fell over when she tried to look at him, appearing a bit more nervous.
Then Hypno reached into his sleeve and plucked a flower out of nowhere. The child didn’t laugh or clap, like most children did, but those small eyes widened. Hypno lowered the flower into the tank and she instantly reached for it. Her little fingers wrapped around one of the petals and then she tried to bite it.
Only to quickly reel back and stick out her tongue.
Hypno and Warren both chuckled and he pulled the flower back out. Just in case eating it wouldn’t be good for her.
“Man, this is gonna be the easiest job of our lives.” Warren snapped his fingers.
Hypno shook his head. “Don’t count your rabbits, Love.”
—-------------------------
Well, at least so far it was going well.
The kid really did get bored easily. She needed as much stimulation as some of the toddlers Hypno would do tricks for. And he mainly took the charge for that, on account of the fact he could summon tons of colorful flowers, sashes, and even balloons. He did make the mistake of popping one, however, which resulted in Holly hiding under a few pillows for a solid ten minutes.
Warren lured her out with a snack. She seemed to really enjoy the peeled shrimp.
The biggest problem came from diaper changing, but that was mainly because Warren had to do it with his smaller hands and he had to complain about it the entire time.
Hypno could see right through him, however. Especially after the anchorman washed his hands and picked the kid up to return her to the tank. Her little hands touched his face and she squeaked and the worm melted in an instant.
Maybe it was just due to the rare occurrence that Warren met anyone smaller than him these days. Even human babies were typically larger.
“News flash.” Warren posed as he held her. “The most handsome man in the world spotted with the most adorable child in the world. Ron, take a picture.” He waved his free arm.
Hypno chuckled and took a few shots. “Let’s not turn her into a photo op, Love.”
“Are you kidding, she was built for the camera.” Warren held her up and she giggled.
But not long after that, the kid got wiped out. Hypno placed her in the tank where she immediately curled up in a nest of blankets. The sight of it was so cute, Hypno took another photo. He sent that one to Donnie, just in case the guy needed some reassurance. A miracle the turtle wasn’t spamming them with texts asking if she was safe.
Donnie replied with a heart emoji, then a thanks, and then a message saying that Jase appreciated it too.
Hypno added some details about how well it was all going.
“Well, with her asleep we should take a break.” Warren scooted toward the door. “How about a snack and those coffees?”
“I’d feel bad taking their food.” Hypno stood. “I think I’ll hop back over to our place to grab something. You good with getting to the kitchen?”
Warren rolled his eyes. “Oh I can get to the kitchen just fine. Getting to the coffees… might be tricker.”
Hypno chuckled and opened the door. “I won’t be long.”
And he wasn’t. They hardly locked their doors in this building so it was simple to grab a couple of apples for himself and a bag of Warren’s favorite chips.
He returned to Donnie’s apartment and got the coffees out of the fridge before placing them and his husband all on the table. They ate and drank and chatted about weekend plans.
Only about thirty minutes later, when they finished up, Hypno went back to the bedroom to see the door open.
“Warren, did you not shut this?” He glanced at the worm on his shoulder.
His husband crossed his arms. “Why should I? Kid is fast asleep and she can’t get out of that tank anyway.”
Hypno’s ears went back as he went inside. “Better safe than sorry, you know?”
“Come on, Babe. The kid is right—” Warren pointed down to the blanket nest, but it was empty. “Er…”
Despite the stab of panic, Hypno didn’t let it consume him. The tank was huge. The kid could have gotten up and wandered somewhere else in it. But after searching back and forth in there—and turning over every pillow or other large object she could hide under—they found nothing. Hypno even dug into the sand at the bottom of the pool.
“Did she get out?” Warren shouted. “How?”
Hypno darted over to the door to shut it. Just in case the kid was still in here. “It doesn’t matter. Start looking. If Donnie finds out we lost his daughter we are going to get launched to the next state.”
“Donnie?” Warren raised his voice even higher. “Are you kidding? You think Donnie is the threat here?”
For a second Hypno wasn’t even sure what his husband meant.
Then he immediately recalled the short lived mess where Donnie got kidnapped by some business rivals. He recalled the look on Jason’s face when he left the building that day. And he recalled the news report less than an hour later of a massive dragon tearing a warehouse down to nothing but scrap.
Hypno put his hands on his head. “Jase is gonna have his dragon rip us to shreds.”
“Just start looking!”
Hypno did. He let his husband focus on the floor while he checked everything else. He didn’t rule out the shelves, cabinets or even the drawers. He tossed aside every piece of clothing, every box, and even tipped over the empty water pitcher just in case.
They still found nothing.
“I’m going to start looking outside.” Hypno tossed the door open and went into the hall.
On the bright side, all the other room doors were closed, including the bathroom. So that meant Holly had to have crawled into some place in the living room or the kitchen.
Hypno crawled around on the floor, looking under the sofa, the chairs, and even peeking under the rugs. Then he checked the TV stand, every shelf and behind any of the blocks of machinery. Still nothing.
Eventually Warren came out to help. Hypno hoped that his much smaller husband would have an easier time checking out the more cramped areas, but it still didn’t work. Damn it, Holly was so small. Could she have fit into the ventilation. Oh no! They’d never be able to get her out of there.
“What do we do?” The panic was definitely getting to him now. “Warren, what do we do?”
“I don’t know.” The worm snapped back, just about as good at dealing with stress as he was. “Wait. Wait! Newsflash!”
“What?”
“The shrimp.” He pointed to the fridge. “She loves that stuff. Pull some out, maybe we can lure her.”
A brilliant plan as any right now. Hypno got out the container and gave a piece of the shellfish to Warren who sneered at the smell of it. Still, he began to crawl around, waving it.
Hypno did the same, though in the kitchen this time. He was still on the floor, praying that the tiny child hadn’t found a way to climb up on the counters or something. There were knives up there!
As he moved closer to the fridge, he heard a squeak.
Hypno’s ear and then his face turned toward the noise in an instant. “Holly? Is that you, Love? Come here.” He waved the piece of shrimp closer, hoping the smell was strong enough.
Another squeak, a bit louder. Then finally the tiny turtle wiggled her way out from underneath the fridge.
Just how did she get under there? When?
Hypno snatched her up in an instant. Holly squeaked in surprise and even struggled for a second.
“Warren, I got her.”
“Oh thank goodness.” The worm shouted. “Let’s get her back.”
Hypno headed in that direction, but then realized just how much dust and grime Holly had picked up on her little adventure. “Maybe we should give her a quick wash first.”
“Fine, but make it quick.” Warren reached up. “We need it so her dads have no idea this happened by the time they get home.”
Hypno agreed. He handed Holly the shrimp—that she kept reaching for—and then put his husband on his shoulder. He carried them both to the bathroom where he plopped Holly in the sink. Donnie didn’t give them any bath instructions, but there was a tiny basket on the counter with some light soap and a soft brush.
Warren handed her the other shrimp and turned the sink on. “I hope she doesn’t splash a lot.”
Hypno chuckled. “Don’t count your rabbits.”
—----------------------------
One messy bath later and a lengthy dry off—which was mostly Warren trying to fix his soaked shirt—the pair returned Holly to the tank.
Upon which her method of escape soon became clear. As soon as they left her in there, Holly stepped away from the glass only to take a running leap at it. She tried to grab the edge, but missed it, smacking into the glass instead.
“Hm, Donnie’s going to have to make the walls higher.” Warren pointed to one of the pillows. “Kid is too smart. Prop one of those up so she doesn’t bruise herself.”
Hypno did. And it sort of worked, with Holly crashing into the plush material instead.
“How does she still have energy?” The hippo sighed. “No wonder Donnie looks so wiped out.” Even he was feeling it at this point.
Thankfully, after a few more failed jumps, Holly gave up. With a tiny yawn she fell back asleep on the blankets, and this time Hypno kept watching her to make sure she stayed there. Warren climbed onto his lap as he sat, also flopping over like he’d take a nap.
Hypno began to doze himself, but then he heard the front door open.
The hippo sat up straight, jostling his husband in the process. Warren complained, but didn’t protest as he got picked up and placed on Hypno’s shoulder.
He opened the door right when Donnie got to it.
“Hey,” the turtle didn’t look any less tired. “Everything good?”
“Yeah,” Hypno gave a nervous laugh. He waved at Jase who came up behind Donnie, then stepped aside as the guy came into the room to kneel next to the tank. “You guys might want to raise the walls a bit though. Seems she’s learning how to jump out.”
“What?” Donnie groaned. “She’s barely grown two inches since she’s hatched but she’s doing this?”
“Are you really surprised?” Jase carefully lifted his sleeping daughter out of the tank, cradling her in his hands. “Your dad did say you guys were escaping into all kinds of places as babies.”
“Yeah, but he didn’t have a custom built tank.”
“We’ll just put a few extra inches of cushioning to block her.” Jase shook his head. “Thanks for babysitting, guys.”
“Yeah, of course.” Hypno smiled and glanced at the two of them. They both looked beyond exhausted. “Anytime, actually. You guys look like you could use the break.”
“Probably,” Donnie admitted. “But we knew what we signed up for.”
“Still,” Jase added. “We could probably allow someone else to watch her for a bit by this point.”
“After I adjust the tank.”
“Of course.”
Hypno chuckled at their usual banter.
“Well, this was fun.” Warren snapped a finger. “But I’m hungry. Have you guys eaten?”
“Nah,” Jase sighed. “Came here right after work.”
“Oh, let us go get Chinese then.” Hypno slipped past Donnie. “Our treat.”
“Our treat?” Warren scoffed.
“Well, they are paying our water bill this month.”
“Fine, fair enough.” He waved a hand.
Hypno looked back at his neighbors. “Is that good with you guys?”
“Well I definitely don’t want to cook,” Jase said. “So yeah. Just get our usuals.”
Hypno gave them a thumbs up and headed out of their apartment and toward the stairs.
Warren was oddly quiet on the way down the steps. Usually he loved to ramble after such a chaotic event.
Hypno shrugged his shoulders to nudge him a bit. “Something on your mind?”
“Hm?” His husband blinked. “Well, no, maybe. Mostly tired. Just made me think um…” He kept looking up as he tapped his chin. “Did you uh… ever want to have kids?”
Hypno’s ears went up. “What brought this up?”
“We just babysat one.”
“I know but… did you want to have them?”
“Not really?” The worm cringed when he said that. “I mean, I guess I wouldn’t hate it, but it’s not something I really want to do either. But we still haven’t talked about it even though we got married years ago so…”
“Ah, I guess that makes sense.” Hypno opened the side door and stepped out onto the street. “Can’t say it’s something I really want to do either. Sides, I think helping look after that little one will be more than enough.”
Warren chuckled, a genuine smile on his face as he leaned against Hypno’s head. “Yeah, you’re telling me.”

Thinking long and hard about leo selling photos of the mc to a kind of black market going on between the ghouls, most people stay away from them or at least don't get too close to ghouls so the mc is a pretty easy target for their energy 😞, it started as a joke between him and Sho like 'oh~ your little crush isn't as innocent as you thought, I found a fair bit of nudes in their phone *flashes it*' 'shut up, those must be ai generated' 'if my next video reaches a million views I might allow you to get a good look'
until he sees how awkwardly ren might lean to see slightly down their shirts, me might or might not know someone with a phone bought outside Japan that doesn't make noise when taking photos and he might or might not have an up skirt/ hacked nude of them, so what's his price for the hypotheticals? And slowly he begins to get a small business off of the scholarship student.
To some degree he is judging his clients, it isn't like it was that hard to get them, are they lazy or just so much of a loser? He also hopes the photos haku bought were for mister perfect because someone so reserved must have a dirty secret and people say the shy ones are the worst. You just notice how awkward some of the boys get around you during missions
I mean it depends on the ghoul and the house and why. . .like it seems like some people get pretty close to the ghouls but definitely not like. Emotionally.
But oh god. . .somehow you reminded me that Leo makes AI generated pics of women to scam perverts with online. He could absolutely use that shit to make fake MC nudes. What a powerful thought anon lmao
Sho knows he does this stuff so he doesn't believe any of it's real--until Leo takes a pic(not of MC, just in general, because Leo does not trust Sho not to rat him out) of in front of him using the foreign phone and he doesn't hear a camera shutter. And he just goes "Dude." Because only the kind of guys they steal from buy that kind of shit is he really using it for creep pics of someone? Sho's judging Leo--but Sho's always judging Leo. He always goes along with whatever Leo's up to anyway, so who cares what he says if his actions don't line up. He's curious, he knows he is~
But Sho knows Leo doesn't like MC. So surely he wouldn't go out of his way to get creep shots. Right? Nah, he's just editing pics he took of them, throwing them at some AI software to strip them. He has to be. Not that he hasn't gotten closer to doing way worse things with way grosser people but it's hard to tell where Leo draws his lines. . . .
Not that Sho minds if they're not innocent. More fun for him--
So Leo can't fool Sho. Not that he'd get any profit out of Sho, maybe a fun bet or something. But Ren looking a bit too long when they stretch and their shirt slips up and shows off their lower back, or their pants slide a little far enough down to show anything underneath, or at their legs when they wear shorts/short skirts or their ass when they walk up the stairs or down their shirt when it's a bit unbuttoned. . .Leo's suddenly so friendly with the little loser. And anyone he sees 'admiring' the MC. . . .
(Leo puts an arm around Ren and Ren says it's sexual harassment. Leo grins like his little demonic self and says "you wanna see some real sexual harassment?" And Ren's pissed off until he gets a glimpse of MC's face on the phone--)
It's the more. . .passive ones who're most interested. Leo knows it wouldn't make sense to offer it to someone like Jin or Taiga who'd just strip them if they really wanted that. Nah, he needs to offer to the ones who've got no prospects. Kaito, Ren--wait why's Haku messaging him about this? He's seen him openly flirt with MC--and heard him flirt with other girls. Like, actually doing a good job at flirting. He could probably talk them into sending nudes. Well, all the more reason to suspect they're for Subaru.
He's used to judging his clients though. He makes a good amount of his disposable income from perverts like this, he usually just doesn't have an actual real person's face to consistently attach to the nudes he generates. Besides, it's not like he doesn't get the appeal. . .not that he would ever admit being attracted to that NPC, not before they said it. But he doesn't generate them for himself, he's not that desperate. It was just to test the software and tease Sho at first. If he wanted their nudes he'd get the real ones, from the source. And he wouldn't share them--not for a way higher price than he's charging for the AI generated crap anyway.
On missions and while helping out around each house you notice some of them are acting a little strange but. . .you've really got no idea until you get a "didn't I tell you not to give away pictures of yourself so easily?" from Haku and you're just ?????? And if you did send anybody but Haku nudes you're just wondering how tf Haku found out--unless Zenji caught you taking pictures and you didn't notice. And I can't decide if Haku would tell you what Leo's up to or leave you to figure out where pictures of you are coming from yourself. It definitely won't last too long though. If only because I can't see Leo restricting it to the ghouls if general students were offering cash. . .the word would spread too quickly.
It'd be very awkward for everyone involved--except Leo who'd just be annoyed that you put a stop to his little scam.

Chapter one of my small town au- for @poppitron360 :)
CHAPTER 1: Day in the Life
Normalcy was a comfort at the McLean family farm. They weren’t partial to surprises there, good or bad. Normal meant expecting the expected. Normal meant routine.
Normal unfortunately meant that Piper and Leo woke up at 4:30 AM. All the lights were off in the farmhouse at that time, save for one. The lamp at Mr. McLean’s desk was dim yet persistent, shedding just enough light for the man to see his papers, ripped straight from various editions of the Farmer’s Almanac. Piper took his empty mug as they passed him at his desk, leaning down to let her father kiss her on the cheek.
“Incoming,” Leo yawned, flicking on the overhead lights, causing every occupant of the room to blink away the sudden brightness. The bulb in the fan sputtered, which made Leo furrow his brow. He pointed up to the offending lightbulb. “Do we have any spares?”
Mr. McLean underlined something on the page he had in front of him, and absentmindedly responded “I don’t think so, kid.”
Piper dragged Leo away, preventing him from staring into the light any longer. “Coffee. Now.”
“Good choice,” Leo agreed, trailing behind her into the kitchen. He opened the cupboard, taking out two mugs: one with a psychedelic 70s pattern, one with cartoon radishes, onions, and carrots on it with the words “I’m rooting for you!” under them. He snorted like he always did as he read the words on his mug. He put the two mugs on the counter next to the coffee maker where Piper was filling Mr. McLean’s (the one with several characters from the Peanuts on it).
Every member of the family got a mug. Grandpa Tom’s simple old mug with the wildflowers was retired on the second shelf. Mr. McLean had gotten his on his 12th birthday, when his dad had taken him into town to start the tradition.
Leo and Piper, however, had gotten theirs on their 8th birthdays. They hadn’t been allowed to have coffee in them until they got into high school, but it had been a welcome reminder of his place at the McLean farm when he first received it.
8 was an odd age, especially to lose your mother and everything else you ever loved in a fire at. Leo was no exception. He was just lucky that his best friend’s dad had been kind enough to take him in.
A comfortable quiet settled into the farmhouse, as it tended to do in the early hours of the day. Mr. McLean rose from his chair, rubbing at his eyes as he walked into the kitchen and grabbed his cup from Piper’s outstretched arm. The front door creaked shut as the man went to start his daily chores.
“Frank and Hazel are moving out next week,” Piper pointed out, leaning her back against the counter as she took a sip of her coffee. “Hazel got a librarian position at a university a few towns over. We should make it a point to get them a going away gift.”
Leo opened the fridge, leaning in to look for milk. “Are we growing any roses? Those are always a classic.”
“Violets are Hazel’s favorite,” she reminded. “Those two might make a good bouquet. But I’ll let you handle that, I need to find a new farmhand to replace Frank.”
~*~
Piper snatched up the watering can from its place on the swinging porch bench, setting off for the greenhouse next to the barn. Leo, however, grabbed his bike from the side of the house. He trudged through the fallen leaves towards the gate. Unlatching it, he waved goodbye to Piper over his shoulder.
“You’re gonna get a new lightbulb for the ceiling fan on the way home, right?” Piper called from where she and Mr. McLean stood at the edge of the field. “Dad’s asking!”
“Depends! Am I expected to replace it, too?” Leo yelled back jokingly.
He could sense Piper’s unimpressed look from a mile away. “What do you think, repair boy?”
Leo snorted, walking his bike out of the farm’s gate and closing it behind him. “Okay, okay, I’ll get it! See y’all later.”
He waved goodbye before he mounted his bike, pedaling off into the not-quite-morning morning.
~*~
Teaching a high school shop class wasn’t exactly Leo’s dream, but it was normal, and he supposed that was better than anything unusual. A part of him was tired of being shorter than his students, though.
His third class of the day shuffled in at 9:20 in the morning, getting right to work. They’d been working on a birdhouse the past week or so, which meant he would be asked twenty times over to cut the wood for the freshmen’s projects (yeah, that’s right, he remembered all the lectures the principal had given about how minors couldn’t operate the saw on school grounds). And then there was Tina at the front who was just about ready to nail the roof on, so he’d probably have to give a lecture on hammer safety too. If she got far enough, he’d have to beg the art teacher to lend him some acrylics, and that involved a walk all the way across the building, which meant he’d have to wait until his lunch period to do it, which meant it’d be too late for Tina to finish her project this class-
“Mr. Valdez, can you cut the edge of this two by four for me, please?” One of the students stood at the back of the classroom holding a piece of wood like it was a bomb about to go off. There was already a line of teenagers behind him, one of whom was covered in dust even though it had been four minutes since they started.
On his way to the other end of his classroom, he booted up the bandsaw. Leo huffed a laugh at the way the kid jumped when it whirred to life. “Jeremy, you aren’t even allowed within a two foot radius of this thing. You’ve got nothing to worry about. Just all of y’all put on your masks and you’ll be fine,” he yelled over the screeching saw, accompanied by the sound of him snapping his own mask over his face. The students scrambled to follow suit.
“Tina, you too! Sawdust doesn’t care how far you are in your project.” The girl’s head snapped up when her name was called, obediently reaching under her desk and putting her mask on.
When he was finally done cutting all the wood needed for the students’ projects, he almost wished that he was back on the farm with Piper and milking the cows. His classroom had a tendency to get stuffy, even in the colder months. At least on the farm, the breeze would be coming through from the hayloft.
There was sawdust in the air, and he didn’t want to wear his mask straight into the next period, so he opened some windows to let the chilly air in. He hoped at least one of his pupils had the foresight to install some central heating in their birdhouse- the poor birds would be freezing their tail feathers off, otherwise.
~*~
Leo wouldn’t say he was eager to go home after work- he liked to teach- but he wouldn’t say he wasn’t eager, either. There were only so many hours in a day, and he certainly didn’t want to wrangle high schoolers into doing their work for more of them than he had to.
There was something about early autumn air that made Leo feel like a high schooler himself, like he was still half asleep on the bus with Piper next to him. On days like that one, the bus’ heater would have been on, eliminating the need for the heavy jackets Mr. McLean would have insisted they both wear. Piper had always hogged the bench, leaning against the window of the very last seat and causing Leo to slide onto the floor to get some wiggle room. It probably wasn’t the safest thing he could have done, looking back on it.
He fumbled around with the gate, numb fingers unlocking the latch and pushing it open. He wheeled his bike over to the side of the farmhouse and let it clatter to the ground. He’d move it into the garage later, but at the moment, he had chores to do.
The crunch of leaves under Leo’s feet accompanied the sound of mooing cows, bleating sheep, and Festus’ barks making the ewes edge away from the back fence.
Speaking of the devil, or rather thinking of the good boy, the big sheepdog cantered towards him as he approached the greenhouse. Festus rolled over onto his back when Leo got close enough, though he still kept an eye on his wards as Leo rubbed his belly.
Leo gave the dog a few more pats before he got up and dusted himself off. Festus padded after him until Leo entered the glass door of the greenhouse, at which point he turned around and bounded after a stray sheep.
Piper popped up from behind their apple tree, a smile sprouting on her face when she registered that it was Leo. She waved him over to the flower bed she was weeding- violets.
“How was your day?” Piper asked as she parted two stalks of flowers to pluck out some crabgrass from the soil.
“Good. Spent my lunch period cleaning up popsicle sticks, but that’s just par for the course. Those sophomores are on something, I swear,” Leo laughed, shucking on some gardening gloves.
Piper snorted. “Was it Dave again?”
“How’d you know?”
“It’s always Dave.”
“True.”
“What’d he do this time?”
“He was horsing around with Layla in the back again. Dave and Layla plus a cabinet full of craft supplies equals fifth period spent scrambling on the floor to get all these goddamn sticks up off of it.”
Piper hummed sympathetically.
“Well, how was your day?”
After a moment of thought, Piper concluded, “Darla was being a little stubborn today when I tried to get her eggs out of the nest.”
Leo clicked his tongue disapprovingly. “Darla’s gotta learn that her babies won’t be her babies forever. She’s gonna have a serious case of empty nest syndrome when they move out for college.”
“Darla’s gotta learn that her babies are never gonna be her babies. We don’t have any roosters in that coop.”
“Well, now you’re just crushing her dreams. Adoption’s a thing, y’know.”
“Maybe once chickens establish a government.”
Leo was distracted by the song changing on the tape with a loud static noise. God, why did Piper have to get the shoddiest possible cassette players?
A well-known tune bursted from the player, prompting Piper to jump up and grab Leo’s hands and start dancing with him. Leo barked out a laugh. Before the lyrics started, he asked, “Am I the Louisiana Woman again or the Mississippi Man?”
Piper answered by singing along. “Hey! Louisiana woman!”
Instinctually, Leo replied, “Mississippi Man!”
“We get together every time we can,” they giggled in tandem, Piper spinning him around like teenagers at a school dance. “The Mississippi River can’t keep us apart-”
“There’s too much love in this Mississippi heart,” Piper crooned.
“Too much love in this Louisiana heart,” Leo finished.
~*~
Dinner time in the McLean household was an event. Every night, the three of them gathered in the kitchen to prepare a meal (unless Mr. McLean had fixed too much the previous night, as he tended to do).
The orange sunset shone through the window above the sink, where Piper was straining the pasta. Leo flicked the back burner of the stove off and grabbed three glasses from the cabinet on his way to the fridge. “I got some sweet tea from the store on the way home, if anybody wants some,” he announced, taking the tea out from the fridge and shutting the door with his hip.
“Did you get the lightbulb, too?” Mr. McLean asked, tossing the salad. His question was followed by a telling silence.
Leo froze in the middle of uncapping the sweet tea, eyes widening in realization before he sputtered back to life to defend himself. “Listen. Oh my god, Piper, stop laughing. Listen, Annabeth asked me to help her with the theater sets. Do you know how meticulous that lady is? We spent half an hour just ‘discussing her vision’. It was a great vision, impeccable really, but those things take time. And that leaves me with no time to get lightbulbs.” Feeling self conscious, he tacked on a “sorry” at the end.
Mr. McLean laughed, though he seemed confused, shaking his head. Piper squawked disbelievingly in the background. “It’s alright, son, we can stop by the retailer tomorrow afternoon.” Mr. McLean rubbed Leo’s shoulder in what might have been a comforting way if Piper wasn’t turning red and doubling over.
“It is not that funny, Piper. Piper. Piper, it is not funny. So I forgot the fucking light bulb, yeah? So what? Piper, please.” Leo covered his face with his hands.
“You- oh, god- you should see your face!” Piper snorted breathlessly. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen your eyes so wide. Ugh! You looked like Wile E. Coyote!”
“Dad, tell her to stop.”
Mr. McLean shook his head fondly again. “Piper, could you set the table, please?”
~*~
Crickets had been chirping for a while when Leo finished herding the sheep into their pen, with the help of Festus, of course. Huffing and puffing (man, those sheep were fast), he climbed the hill back up to the house with the dog close behind. Leo opened the front door, barely remembering to wipe his shoes off before entering. He took his boots off, shut the door behind him and Festus, and climbed up the stairs to his attic bedroom.
The attic was cozy, which may or may not have been another way to say cramped, but it was home. There was comfort in the way that Festus curled up against the outside of the door, the dog’s way of keeping Leo safe. There was comfort in the way Piper’s quilts draped over the armchair in the corner (and on the bed. And on the floor. And on the window seat). There was comfort in knowing that Mr. McLean had worked so hard to build Leo the computer currently on his desk
The sun had set, so Leo lifted up the covers and tucked himself in. The handmade quilt was nice and warm like always when Leo snuggled deeper into it. Shutting his eyes, he waited for his mind to slow down enough for sleep to catch up with it.
Yes, normalcy was a comfort. But then- there was Jason.

Thank you so much for reading! There’s going to be more 👹 be prepared 👹👹
I’m gonna be honest this all spawned from listening to “Thank God I’m a Country Boy” by John Denver. I was struck with the image of awkward small town Leo fawning over how hot Jason is in overalls

The Diaries of Sofia Tolstoy translated by Cathy Porter - 5/5
This is why Jane Austen’s books never go beyond the wedding. Sofia Tolstoy lived a long, mostly miserable life, controlled and overshadowed by her husband, the more famous Leo Tolstoy. Had she not carried thirteen children (not counting the miscarriages), had she not been so occupied with editing and transcribing Leo’s work, getting it past the Tsar’s censors, and publishing it to furnish income for her family, would she be remembered as a better writer than Leo ever was? Unfortunately, much of Sofia Tolstoy’s writing aside from her diaries have been kept secret by the estate, but spending so much time with this hefty volume represents a “what could have been” of a great literary mind, lost to history.
I had read about Sofia Tolstoy’s life and her diaries in Andrea Dworkin’s Intercourse, which considers parallels in her life to Leo’s The Kreutzer Sonata. I was vaguely aware that they had a long and fraught marriage, but I expected at least some sort of arc. On the second page of her diary (out of almost five hundred!) she already laments, “I am terribly sad, and am withdrawing further and further into myself. My husband is ill and out of sorts and doesn’t love me.” The first year of their marriage (Sofia was 18, Leo was 34) was bad (tainted by Leo’s affairs with maids) and it only got worse for the next 48 years. By far the most disturbing episode was when Leo wrote The Kreutzer Sonata as essentially a thinly-veiled murder threat. Every time it seemed like Leo was about to die, I cheered, and when he finally did it was depressing that Sofia spent her last seven years of freedom grieving for someone who never cared for her. A literary feat in their own right, her diaries also demystify the cult of Leo Tolstoy:
“I have served a genius for almost forty years. Hundreds of times I have felt my intellectual energy stir within me and all sorts of desires - a longing for education, a love of music and the arts… And time and again I have crushed and smothered these longings… Everyone asks, “But why should a worthless woman like you need an intellectual or artistic life?” To this question I can only reply: “I don’t know, but eternally suppressing it to serve a genius is a great misfortune".
I have spent a long time reading this. I frequently found myself putting it down because it was too overwhelmingly tragic. Like all real diaries, there are definitely a lot of slow moments of everyday life, but experiencing fifty years of someone’s life in the span of mere months really makes you feel like you’ve got a parasocial relationship with that person. Perhaps that’s why reading diaries interests me; it helps keep alive those forgotten by history.

Rant incoming.
In the second Bayverse movie, Raph was very upset when Leo wouldn’t let anyone else have a say in the whole maybe-turn-human thing.
He was very determined to both make his own decisions and make sure Mikey got that chance, as well.
And then Leo learned a lesson about teamwork and family or whatever, and then let Raph make the decision FOR THEM ALL?!
Like “Okay, I see I was being selfish before, now I’ll let one other person have a say!”
Then Raph literally went “Well, Mikey, I assume you found that hope you were talking about elsewhere cuz YeEt!!”
Bro didn’t even Glance! in Mikey’s direction, he just went and took away the option of having a normal life away from Donnie, Mikey, and Splinter.
Mikey felt hopeless, like he’d be stuck living down in the sewers his whole life, never being able to fully participate in life like he wanted to. He got a small taste of it when he joined the Halloween parade, but that wasn’t enough. He wanted a fuller, more vibrant life.
Raph wanted to be accepted. He actually told Leo that it wasn’t about what he liked, it was about what the humans found acceptable. He was willing to sacrifice what and who he was just to be normal.
Donnie obviously wanted to be human, too. He wanted something different, something more, then lost that chance.
What did Splinter want? Did he want a different, easier life for himself and his children? How hard was it to raise four boys with no job, no support from anyone, and basically no life experience? He could’ve done so much for them if he had been able to look human. My heart goes out to him for being so strong after having such a difficult life.
And then the writers of the movie just let Raph make the choice for everyone, even that’s exactly what he was mad at Leo for.
Major L behavior from both Leo and Raph, tbh
Edit: okay, I rewatched the scene, and it turns out Leo did leave choice in the hands of all three of his brothers, but Raph still threw the bottle without asking Donnie or Mikey what they thought. They didn’t even nod at him, they just looked at each other and Raph went and through it against the wall. So Mikey and Donnie still didn’t really get a say 😐

hi. ok, so: as tmnt 2012 abridged is slowly starting to look like a real thing that could happen, rather than just the rapid fire idea bouncing between me and @hellfire371 or the occasional silly ms paint comic, I’m going to be on the lookout for script writers and voice actors.
There’s nothing official right now. This is mostly an interest check to see if there’s anyone out there who would like to join the project.
This got pretty long so I’m putting all the information under a readmore. If you read everything and are interested feel free to interact with the post in some way, dm me, or join the tmnt discord I have to speak with me and some others currently interested in the project (linked in my pinned post) :).
I’m not looking for anything professional, just people who are willing to try their best :). This would unfortunately be on unpaid project of passion (I am a poor college student. If I did come across a solid income I’d love to compensate people for their hard work. Right now, credit + an unending supply of thankfulness is what I can give).
For script writers, I’m looking for someone who’s willing to, well, write scripts! I personally don’t have much script writing experience and having someone, even someone who also doesn’t have a lot of experience, would honestly be very helpful. Some familiarity with how abridged series typically function + familiarity with tmnt 2012 is the only thing that’s required :).
For voice actors, I’m really just looking for people who are willing to have fun with it! It would be nice if mic quality is something higher than a smart refrigerator, but I’ll try to work my editing magic if needed. The only requirements here are a willingness to listen to feedback/take direction and capability to act a range of emotions. I would like some people with a lower vocal range on deck, but please feel free to show interest even if that isn’t you!
Something I don’t desperately need but would be nice to have is someone to help with video/audio editing. At the moment, I’m planning on taking on the brunt of that work. However, it’s always nice to have some help :).
Some more important information:
- this series isn’t a 100% go right now. I’d like to see who is interested, if anybody, and then go from there.
- piggybacking off of that, if I am able to get a crew together the plan of action would likely be to create a single episode (3-7 minutes) that could work as a standalone to test things out. And, if that works, begin production on a single season (6-10 episodes of about 4-10 minutes each).
- The series would be posted on YouTube. Everyone involved would be credited in video as well as in the description.
Even more important information:
- There will be no acceptance of racism, ableism, antisemitism, or lgbtqphobia in the series. Let’s actually be funny, please.
- No character bashing. There might a joke at a characters expense here and there, but nothing that crosses the line into bashing. If you’re a huge April or Raph hater this probably isn’t the project for you.
- If you engage in/create t///ces/t content this also isn’t the place for you. It makes me extremely uncomfortable and I’d rather have no interactions with those who participate.
And now, some very very basic character descriptions!! just so you can get a vague sense of what we’re going for here :)
Introducing:
Leo - Warrior Cat’s Enthusiast
Mikey - Minecraft Youtuber
Donnie - Dimension Hopping Imposter
Raph - Animal Handler & Keeper
April - Kraang Princess (first time on Earth!)
Casey - The Only Normal One There
Splinter - Warrior Cat’s Elder
(feel free to dm me/send an ask for a more in-depth explanation on the current plans for character and story ideas if you need to know more before declaring interest :))

Proper Adulting & Stress (A Wee Life & Writing Update)
29/01/’23
*walks into the room with a mug of coffee* Hiya, how’s she cutting?
So, I recently returned from London and have been busy job hunting ever since. I got two interviews on Monday and Tuesday, so let’s hope something comes out of those. Moreover, I have decided to pursue an education in administration, which will start in April. In short, I suppose it’s fair to say I’m currently trying to make something of myself and trying to establish a stable source of income.
To keep my stress levels fairly balanced, I’ve been reading a whole lot more on top of practicing self care. Unfortunately, the latter means no writing and no editing since I’ve noticed they haven’t been doing my mental health much good lately.
Nevertheless, I will try and edit the stories I finished during my writing retreat (one for Leo and one for Forrest) this week starting today. When I’ll post them is something I’ve yet to think about. The same goes for Mokum Pt. 2 because it’s a behemoth that honestly makes me want to cry.
I’d like to apologize to those who are always there to support my works and are looking forward to them despite it taking ages for me to create them. My perfectionism often gets the better of me, as you may well know by now.
Anyways, I thought I’d pop in and tell you this lest you think I straight up vanished. More things are in the works, but Time isn’t my friend.
