\\ As a monkie kid enjoyer, how much did you struggle to learn drawing feet hands? Is there a technique, or is it just what it sounds like; Feet Hands. I'll type it again. Feet Hands. Or Hand Feet? ...Fingery toes?
Tumblr media
I have no idea man. I’m not really good at drawing human feet yet, so monkey feet are a whole separate ball park. They’re basically just monkey hands but longer.
Tumblr media
The first time I drew the monkey characters I just drew them with human feet since I couldn’t be bothered to learn monkey feet anatomy, until I realized that was very lazy of me. So, I learned it. Again, it’s difficult for me to explain since I have the kind of brain where I just look at something and draw it, no thoughts.
Tumblr media
A practice I did of Mac for his body type (I’m struggling really hard with how to build him) where I gave him my own style of blocky monkey feet

Do you have any unique differences in how to draw Wukong compared to Macaque? And if so would you ever be willing to make a post on it? 👀

How do you draw Red Son’s bull ears?? I literally cannot do it and it makes me sad😡
Sorry, I’m not that great at explaining things but I tried my best!

(Forgot to mention but those tufts of fur inside the ear I also make both round sometimes instead of round/sharp)

how you draw swk and macaque's boo- muscles????
Oh sweet sweet anon, just say you wanna see the tiddies,,,, JKJK I’m here to provide hehe

Don’t be shy to use references! That is typically what I do if I’m having trouble seeing how the muscles lie.
Generalizing the top of the torso to two distinct sections: the top n the bottom - this will help you later when laying out how the muscles of the chest lay as well at the abdomen muscles as well. The lines in the second photo show this. When you get all the basics down, feel free to start adding the finer details! (Or even some alternations to your liking) ((like making the covered in fur and also mystic monkeys))

Usually this is how I do it though B] …..

Cragger head tutorial
Tumblr media
This is how I tackle drawing Cragger's face. I start out with a square, then I draw the eyebrows to establish the face's angle. For the muzzle, I draw a rectangle, then I add the details.
Cragger's mouth is kind of cut inward (look at the profile drawing); it's not flat. Studying the minifigure head first will help with learning the shapes, then when you're ready you can simplify it and round it up like the TV show version.
You'll need to learn perspective to draw his face properly.

Mmmh... Here's a post :>
Wow, I spent all day on my graphics tablet today.
On a bright note, I'm rendering in a way I like now and my screen is all fixed. I decided to make a quick tutorial on using Krita filters to help enhance your images with blurs and color corrections. I know some people dislike Krita, but I like how clean it is and it's similar to Photoshop.
Some key notes: Keep any blur in THE BACK. Anything that's in the front should not be blurred such as the face, clothes(in the center), and bangs.

Decided to sketch some more OCS(Not mine) on one big page with past ones and use one OC to practice coloring on as well.
Obviously some are not finished, I'm just doing things at my own pace.

NEW MOC ALERT - Type Axiom - Unit BloodCross
Type Axiom is the fruit of combining key ideas from Type Abysuss (cone shaped arms and head design) and Type Astro (chest cockpit and knee systems). On top of that, a new ankle design is implemented by simulating human body. After all, I want to design mecha that has limits of movement just like human.
I am really inspired by a mecha art created by Marcin Rubinkowski. The beautiful design has a very strong use of white and red with black as decorative colour, which resonates an atmosphere of mechanistic religion in the future.
Back to the articulation. The shoulders are re constructed to coordinate with the scale of the updated backpack design, which is fully built in instead of the attaching system. By doing so, the entire body looks more completely and human.
Last but not least, the midsection. It took me a while to figure out the balance between flexibility and decent scale. The outcome is flexible but not as bendable as really spine, otherwise, the mech would not stand very well.
Overall, I am very happy about Type Axiom. It is getting closer to my idea of what a good looking and playable size Lego mech would look like.
What is your thoughts about it? Leave your comments and check out the artist’s works for great mecha inspiration!

Q: how do you draw torsos and legs? Some people say the hands are more difficult but for me it's those things, what tips would you give for those?
I also struggle with legs, way more than I ever struggled with hands. But, every problem has a solution. In this case: skeletons and naked people.
You can trace directly off of real life bodies, but a better practice is to draw your best copy of what you see, making your measuring and line confidence stronger💪
Tumblr media
Yeah muscle anatomy is cool, but that’s a factor AFTER learning basic skeleton structuring. Having a 3D model of a skeleton that you can manipulate helps with figuring out how the skeleton moves with muscles, but you can typically see someone’s skeleton straight through their body depending on their weight and position. Below, you can see my simplified version of what I think his skeleton is doing. You need to understand how to build a strong base to create a proper body over it.
Tumblr media
With enough studying of how the skeleton manipulates through the muscles, you can add your own skeleton to your drawing. Knowing each layer of biological anatomy, not just simple limb by limb drawing anatomy, brings much more weight and mass to your characters.
Tumblr media
Lots of simple studies to figure out how the bone fits into the muscle so that you don’t have any limbs anatomically clipping over eachother and breaking form
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For muscles, first off, just draw lots of naked people, second, use this lemon slice shape to show the weight of flesh, along with the tension of movement along the straight line of the shape. Watch all of this dudes video but specifically this one to understand more
