hope we all know that this isn't just any paul aron who we're gonna see as the f1 reserve next year…

it's the paul who's been in love with racing ever since he was a baby, who wanted to race just so he could grow up to be like his brother. the paul who travels around to support his brother or his team even when he's got a weekend off.

it's the paul who finished third in his first-ever season of formula 3, who was in the fight for the title up until the last round (and would've had a much better chance if not for the team's mistake in spa).

it's the paul who fit so well into the mercedes profile, who expressed his gratitude to the team and their work whenever he could, who fought so hard to make them proud.

it's the paul who was always going to be put behind kimi in toto wolff's eyes, no matter how well he performed.

it's the paul who had to leave everything he had grown up with, his team of many years, his close friends and staff members, and move on. who had to let go of everything he knew from before and go alone.

it's the paul who went into his first full formula 2 season with hopes and dreams instead of expectations; who said he was there to learn and grow, and then he would see where that would take him.

it's the paul who failed to get into the top ten in qualifying for the first round of the 2024 season, but still managed a p5 in the sprint – and a podium in the feature, despite a time penalty, and got to celebrate in parc ferme with his brother and trainer.

it's the paul who, as a rookie, went onto the podium every round in the first seven rounds. who's been consistent like few others in a series (and team) known for its inconsistency.

it's the paul who never forgets to credit and thank his family, team and trainer, acknowledging that every success is thanks to a team effort – and that even if things don't go as well as planned, the team still did their best to help him out.

it's the paul who thanks to his determination and hard work managed to impress his f2 team principal, oliver oakes, so much that the latter thought "i need this guy on my team" when he became the alpine f1 principal.

it's the paul who fights every setback with an attitude of revenge instead of hopelessness; despite everything he's been through, he never gives up. he wants to prove everyone wrong.

it's the paul who turns every heartbreak – from mechanical failures to tactical missteps – into fuel for his fire. it's the paul who reminds us that success isn't a straight line; success is the product of unwavering determination and the courage to keep going.

it's a paul who's learned so much, grown so much stronger; who's been through so many hardships and said "you know what? i'm going to learn from this and come out stronger on the other side", and that's exactly what he did. i'm so proud to have gotten to follow him on this journey, and i can't wait to see where this next chapter of his life will lead him.

Full fledged Danny tribute because he deserves one and if VCARB isn’t gonna do it, Tumblr will.

So I got into F1 as many newer fans do, through DTS. Specifically, I think I fell in love with F1 due to none other than Daniel Joseph Ricciardo. It seems insane to think I’d just turned it on so I could find the appeal that someone close to me does and that day led all the way up to now.

Danny, if you couldn’t tell through my posts, was (oh god that feels horrid to write) and will always be one of my favorites. I don’t think it would be an unfair assessment to say that my adoration for him was the reason I first got hooked on to F1. Of course now, there’s many other reasons, including the fact that I simply enjoy the sport, but Danny deserves the credit for being not only my first favorite driver but also for making me interested and giving me a reason to finish DTS.

All in all, though, I think it’s more important to immortalize his legacy and impact. How many fans, who, just like me, love F1 because he introduced them? How many fans saw him in the DTS and fell in love with the sport and him? How many people has Danny single handedly given copious amounts of love and hope to?

I don’t think Daniel actually realizes how many people love him and how many are up in arms about RBR and VCARB’s blatant mistreatment of him, but I hope that there’s someone telling him about this. He may never see the amount of support he’s gotten from fans, non-fans, and even other fandoms because he isn’t very active on his socials (and probably doesn’t know about Tumblr), but I hope he realizes that no one stands with RBR or VCARB about this.

Thank you so much for introducing this sport to me, as well as many others, and providing us with some of the best memories, love. I hope you enjoyed the butterflies as much as we did.

i’m happy for Lewis going to Ferrari and that he's leaving a toxic environment and i am so so excited to see him in red, in a team that wants him, but then sometimes i see a sad edit of him leaving and it’s just truly devastating.

how he always said that Mercedes is his family, that it’s the place where he wants to retire from, that he cannot imagine not being a Mercedes driver. he was so loyal, he gave everything he had to that team and somehow, it just still wasn’t good enough. they didn’t listen to him, they excluded him, made him feel unwanted and alienated, didn’t prioritize him at all. it’s been so clear that he wasn’t part of their future plans, which was just heartbreaking.

and when he decided to take back his career and go to a team that clearly appreciates him for all that he’s achieved, they spin this whole narrative around, going completely against him. suddenly everything was an issue and a problem, his age, his attitude, his commitment and determination.

and still, he didn’t say a single bad word about them, always expressing how hard of a decision it was. the hardest he ever had to make. he makes sure they know how grateful he is, how proud he is of their journey and shared history, that he'll miss them tremendously and it just doesn't feel reciprocated at all.

and i can’t imagine how drastically the situation must have worsened for him to decide this over winter break, in such a short period of time. he was always so full of hope regarding the team, no matter how horrible the situation was. something broke his unwavering support and hope.

he built a legacy way bigger than any world champion in the sport, he built a legacy that is bigger than f1. and it still wasn't enough. he felt like he had to leave first, before he got left behind. and that is just gut wrenching. he's the most successful formula 1 driver in history and they just couldn't appreciate him.

Mercedes was his family. until it wasn't.

Mercedes was but a blur of white as she moved through the trees, eyes set on the shoreline they had passed on their way up what felt like an eternity ago. She could hear her name echoing behind her, followed by rustling and twigs snapping, signaling that just as suspected Jacob was catching up to her. Her laugh was victorious when she made it past the treeline and onto the river embankment without him interfering, Dolos' carefree bark urging her on as she aimed for the little boat ramp ahead of her. "Mercedes", Jacob called out, voice laced with annoyance when her feet hit the wooden dock and she discarded her flats at the base of it before sending him an innocent smile. "What?" Icy gaze settled on her, "I wasn't done with the lesson." "Well, I decided I had enough for today.", then she added under her breath, "Or for the whole week really. You suck at it, frankly." The last part she practically shouted, ensuring the jab would land. "So you just take off running without any direction?", he advanced down the path, his movements reminiscent of a predator, slow, controlled and with his sights set on one thing: her. Where most, especially his men would have flinched at his tone and shook like a leaf just at the idea of defying him, Mercedes thrived on pushing his buttons, seeing how far she could take things before he'd snap out of his emotionless soldier act.

One of her shoulders lifted up in a shrug as her fingers began untying her dress, each small step she blindly took back presumably getting her closer to the river, "You had your fun playing soldier and forcing me to come along. I think it's time I had mine." The laces of her corset were a challenge on its own with her eyes remaining on his and added another layer of seductiveness to the game set in motion. Dolos moved past Jacob, threading into the shallow parts of the blue-green water after releasing another happy bark, seeming completely oblivious to the tug of war happening between the two of them. Finally, the bodice gave way, allowing her to slip her dress down her legs until she was left down to a nude colored bralette and its matching set of panties. Despite the sight a couple of feet away from him, Jacob appeared as calm as the river where it meandered between the small islands. One quick look behind her confirmed she was at the end of the dock, so she came to a stop, sending another smile his way, "You can go back into the woods, Jacob. Don't stop on my behalf. I will be here when you're done playing caveman." "It's going to be freezing, sweetheart.", he retorted matter-of-factly, ignoring her remark. She suspected as much, but didn't let that stop her, erasing the remaining distance, her breath hitching at the biting temperature as she dove in. "Are you just going to stand there and watch? I do love an audience.", Mercedes asked the moment she broke the surface, finding Jacob standing like a statue where the ramp began, arms crossed over his chest, rifle dangling forgotten on his back.

A chuckle broke free at his lack of response and she turned, gliding further away from the dock, her body slowly getting used to the water she wished was a heated pool instead. The good old days. Oh, how I miss them. As she closed her eyes and leaned her head back, she could almost pretend she was at a resort, that a drink was waiting for her instead of a grumpy ginger that had decided to take her out 'hunting' at the crack of dawn staring daggers into her. In her mind, she counted down the seconds, wondering if he'd break his last record of holding out and just when she was starting to wonder if maybe this time around would be different and he would actually walk away, a splash sounded behind her, making her smirk, confirming she had won yet again. "It's freezing, I was right.", Jacob muttered as swam closer. "Is it?" "If your lips turn blue, I'm carrying you out, Mercedes, no arguments." She spun around, playfully splashing water in his direction before his arms encircled her waist, her hands coming to rest on his bare shoulders, "I'm sure you'd find a way to keep me warm."

"Ah, you two over there,", a voice resonated somewhere behind them, making her flinch, "keep it down, will ya, you're scaring the fish." The way Jacob's eyes darkened as he stared over her shoulder made her crane her neck around to sneak a peek at whoever had addressed them. "It's that godawful Deputy.", his words were low, promising more activities she wanted no part of. "Don't.", her fingers cupped his jaw, forcing his gaze to hers and away from the eyot's shoreline, "Let him fish. We're having fun, don't ruin it with another game of cat and mouse." Her regareded her in silence, and she could almost imagine him weighting his options - deciding between going after the only Deputy remaining free from Joseph's arrest party and who was more of an ally to Mercedes, or staying there with her. "It would be too easy anyway.", she tried again, hoping the words would create enough doubt, deter him from the idea of a hunt. His demeanor revealed little, prompting her to begin thinking of ways to warn Hartley of the incoming danger, then Jacob opened his mouth, shocking them both. "Fine. Just this once."

...the problem with writing any kind of novelisation of Fe3h is that as soon as one BL is recruited, half the available BLs are recruited by default unless you have a narrative contrivance ready and waiting-

kind of annoying that i like so many of the blue lions but find them most compelling in crimson flower but only when not too many of them are recruited at once . can only get my ideal arc out of a few of them at a time ..
