Told this to @wildissylupus that I believe that Rumiko tried to teach both Hanzo and Genji how to cook but it usually ends up in a disaster

*Rumiko is with Hanzo and Genji in the kitchen with her arms slightly crossed with a few ingredients out for them to use eggs, broth, (shiitake)mushrooms, noodles, garlic, ginger, carrot, and green onions* Young Hanzo: Mother what is this? Rumiko: Dinner... Young Genji: But this is just the ingredients mother.... Rumiko: It is but you'll be making it Young Hanzo & Genji: WHAT!? Rumiko: Don't worry, I'll be here to help you out. Trust me it's really easy making Ramen. Young Hanzo: I don't want to do this, we have cooks that can do it for us mom.... Rumiko: I know but what if something happen to the cooks then who is going to feed you? Young Genji: But that won't happened right? Rumiko:*shrugs a bit* It might, look just give it a try. Young Hanzo & Genji:*looks at the ingredients before them and starts to get a bit overwhelmed * Rumiko:*notices that and moves everything aside and leaves the eggs out* Okay so I'll teach you boys how to make half hard-boiled eggs Young Hanzo: *looks at the eggs and gets very nervous*Mother... Rumiko:*looks at him and smiles a bit* Yes Hanzo? Young Hanzo:*picks his hands a bit nervously*...I don't want to do this now... Rumiko:*smiles softly and cups his face a bit* Oh alright, I'm not going to force you to learn but whenever your ready you can come back and tell me okay... Young Hanzo:*nods and hugs her* I'm sorry mom.... Rumiko:*hugs him back and smiles happily* Don't be sorry your uncomfortable Young Hanzo:*nods happily and gives her one last hug before he quickly leaves* Bye mom! Rumiko:*smiles happily and watches him leave but looks over at Genji* You can leave too Genji, like I told your brother I'm not forcing you to cook Young Genji:*thinks for a moment and shakes his head a bit*...I can give it a try mother.... Rumiko:*smiles softly and ruffles his hair* Okay come and watch, now boiling eggs is easy you know Young Genji: it is? Rumiko:*nods and takes two eggs as he places them in a pot before adding water as she sets it on a stove before turning it on* Well sometimes. But I'm sure you can handle it okay Young Genji: *smiles happily and nods eagerly* Yes I can, don't worry mom I can do it! *A few hours later* Sojiro:*enters the kitchen and see's a huge mess while Rumiko is putting out a fire* What happened here... Young Genji:*looks down hugging himself* I set the ramen on fire....I'm sorry momma... Rumiko: *sighs softly and smiled a bit* Its okay maybe next I think I should be cooking the dinner Young Genji: I'm sorry Rumiko:*picks him up and smiles* Listen here now, what happened was something I couldn't achieve. You did an amazing job okay don't beat yourself up over this okay Young Genji:*nods and smiles a bit* I think I should take a break for awhile and come to you when I'm ready Rumiko:*smiles happily and sets him down* Indeed, now go on and find Hanzo so you can tell him I'm cooking dinner Young Genji: *smiles happily and runs off to find Hanzo* Yes mom! Sojiro:*watches Genji run off and looks at Rumiko as he smiles a bit* You do know we have cooks right? Rumiko: Yes I know but it's very important for them to learn this type of skill Sojiro:*has his arms crossed a bit but smiles* Sounds boring too me~ Rumiko:*hands him a rag* Well Mr.Boring I need help cleaning the kitchen, unless you don't know how to clean the kitchen Sojiro: *looks at the rag in hand and sighs a bit* Okay I'm only doing this because I love you Rumiko: Love you too, now start cleaning please~

Moving to Gotham and befriending the local undead was a mistake. Danny was short- an unfortunate side effect of genetics, dying, and having very few resources for food that didn't bite back. So when he began getting teased by Jason for being so short once they became friends: Danny, in a fit of feral karma, decides to say "you will regret this in eleven days".

Jason has no clue what this means. It was ominous as fuck. Danny will no longer answer his texts and keeps ignoring him in public. Not even his apology cooking is working to figure out what the heck Danny meant and while Jason would usually ignore a threat, this one was so vague and ominous with such a serious tone that Jason absolutely is preparing to take a mission out of Gotham. Even off planet, if necessary.

Meanwhile Jazz is coming to visit and Danny is quite happy to see his older sister, who definitely received the tall genes from their dad and is more than several inches taller than Jason. Who doesn't make fun of him for his own height, just as he doesn't make fun of her own lack of ability to cook.

I think the most amazing thing about Alhaitham's ironic question "How has realizing your ideals gone for you?" is that yes, on the surface, it pierced through the heart of Kaveh's feelings at the time and forced him to reflect on whether he still had enough belief to keep going, but--BUT--

This is also Alhaitham subtly asking: "Was your life better without me?"

Kaveh left their friendship because of his ideals.

Kaveh's attempts to realize his beliefs began in earnest during his argument with Alhaitham, who challenged him back then by suggesting that Kaveh didn't honestly believe in his ideals and was just pursuing them out of guilt and a desire to punish himself for his father's death.

Kaveh's attempt to "realize his ideals," therefore, spans the exact amount of time he and Alhaitham have been separated. When Alhaitham asks about Kaveh's attempts, he's asking very specifically about the course Kaveh's life took when he was no longer in it.

How did it go for you? Were you happier? Was it worth it?

I truly believe that Kaveh will be able resolve his conflict with Alhaitham--and come to understand Alhaitham's actual feelings--when he realizes that, in that exact moment, he should have turned the question around:

How did realizing your ideals go for you, Alhaitham?

Was your life better off without me?

i roasted a chicken for the first time today... part of this weeks efforts to get better at cooking. i melted butter and to that i added rosemary, fresh chopped garlic and red onion, paprika, ginger and parsley and i worked it inside and and top of the skin, drizzled it with lime, stuffed it with lime and garlic, trussed it and roasted it, basting it each half hour...and yes i made the butter myself from fresh cream. everyone come over for dinner. and tomorrow im going im going to make chicken stew with the leftovers, in the slow cooker
