How Inspirational Speakers Can Have a Lasting Impact With Their Powerful Words?
Inspirational speakers have the power to ignite a fire within us, motivating and empowering us to make positive changes in our lives. They have the ability to captivate audiences with their words, stories, and experiences, leaving a lasting impact that can truly change lives.
Inspirational speakers have the ability to create a lasting impact through their powerful words in several ways:
Emotional connection: Inspirational speakers often share personal stories and experiences that evoke strong emotions in their audience. By connecting on an emotional level, they can touch the hearts of individuals and create a sense of empathy and understanding. When people feel deeply moved, it becomes easier for them to internalize the speaker's message and remember it long after the event.
Authenticity and relatability: Authenticity is a key for speakers to have a lasting impact. When they share their vulnerabilities, challenges, and triumphs, it makes them relatable to their audience. Authenticity helps speakers build trust and credibility, and their words resonate with listeners who see themselves in the speaker's journey. This relatability fosters connection and makes the speaker's message more memorable.
Providing practical strategies and tools: Inspirational speakers often offer practical strategies, tools, and techniques that individuals can apply to their own lives. They provide actionable advice, and empower their audience to take immediate steps toward personal growth and transformation. When people can implement these strategies and witness positive changes, it reinforces the impact of the speaker's words and encourages long-term application.
Challenging limiting beliefs: Inspirational speakers challenge the limiting beliefs and self-imposed limitations that hold people back. They encourage individuals to think differently, question societal norms, and break free from their comfort zones. By challenging these beliefs, speakers inspire their audience to see new possibilities and realize their untapped potential. This shift in mindset can have a profound and lasting impact on how individuals approach their lives and pursue their goals.
Providing inspiration and motivation: Inspirational speakers can ignite a spark within individuals, awakening them to motivate and drive to pursue their dreams. They often share success stories of ordinary people who have achieved extraordinary things, demonstrating that greatness is within reach for anyone willing to put in the effort. By providing inspiration and motivation, speakers create a sense of possibility and encourage individuals to take action towards their aspirations.
Reinforcing key messages through repetition: To ensure a lasting impact, inspirational speakers reinforce their key messages through repetition. They use various storytelling techniques, anecdotes, and examples to drive home their main points. By repeating their core ideas in different ways, speakers increase the chances of their audience internalizing and remembering the message long after the speech has ended.
Inspirational speakers have a unique ability to touch people's lives and create lasting change. Through their emotional connection, authenticity, practical strategies, challenging beliefs, inspiration, and repetition of key messages, they leave an indelible mark on their audience, empowering them to make positive changes and pursue a more fulfilling life.

"Feminism failed me because now I have to work a nine to five job and I'd rather be a stay at home wife."
Or maybe we've fostered toxic work cultures that have created a "grass is greener on the other side" situation, or maybe we push our children so fast and hard into a career path without slowing it down to ensure our kids know of all their options instead of diving headfirst into a path they might not care about and thus leading to resentment of their work, or maybe we're getting lazier and lazier generations who feel like they shouldn't have to put in a standard amount of work and being a stay at home wife sounds like a dodge of responsibility, an easier route . . . .
. . . and on top of that, maybe we've romanticized the 1950s and the "traditional household" that we've decided to ignore that the culture was forced in order to get women back into domestic labor after running America while the men were at war so that men could get their jobs back, and have forgotten the commonality of domestic abuse and how ads would brazenly joke about it while victims felt like they had to keep quiet in order to maintain the image of a happy family as well as the alarming rate at which women were taking "mommy's little helpers" to help them with their lifestyles, and we've disconnected the fact that the 50s was followed by the wildness of the 60s and 70s as well as feminist movement wave which maybe indicates that the 50s was not the happy little decade in which men and women were in their "correct gender roles" and trying to replicate that era could possibly be a big mistake . . . .
Maybe the issue we have with feminism gaining women the right to work wasn't that it got us the right to work, but rather that it played into the idea that men and their traits are the standard of being human, and in order for a woman to be successful she has to display those traits instead of taking traits of women and standing on those as women's strengths and arguing for how work can be better when women and men use their feminine and masculine traits together because we're both human, and masculine traits are not better than feminine ones, and vice versa.
Maybe the problem faced by those who actually want to work stay at home lives are not hindered by feminism, but rather a failing economy caused by a government for a multitude of reasons, and not because the government created feminism to get women working to tax them too.
Maybe the problem here isn't people going against gender roles, but rather a multitude of many other factors, and it's a lot simpler to fight and blame the other gender.
I have many criticisms of feminism, particularly modern feminism. But feminism in general won women many victories over the decades, and there are a lot of things we women can do now that our female ancestors would have died to have. History might not be as sexist as we remember it, but sometimes I think we forget how unkind it was to women. Wishing feminism didn't come about or make the advances it did might be a little ignorant of the problems it saw women face and sought to correct.
Maybe it's not our "biology" to follow traditional gender roles, and we must return to that.
Maybe there's something we keep hopping over that recognizes men and women as individual humans first, with different skills, strengths, ambitions, and goals.

Link
The link above is a gift link, so anyone who wants to can read the entire article, even if they don’t subscribe to The Washington Post. Dana Milbank does a great job of describing how Trump is getting the GOP to circle the wagons around him again. However, that is not why I am posting about this column.
Kevin McCarthy is perhaps the first House Speaker who can’t “speak” coherently
The most significant part of this column for me, however, is some quotes by Kevin McCarthy that suggest that he cannot string English sentences together in a way that makes sense. It is actually pretty frightening that this guy is the Speaker of the House. (It is also ironic that his title is “Speaker.”)  Here are some excerpts of the column related to a “war game” that McCarthy and other GOP played at the “House GOP retreat issues conference.” McCarthy’s incoherent remarks are highlighted:
Politico’s Olivia Beavers reported that they pretended China had invaded Taiwan, McCarthy was president and “committee chairs got a fictional promotion to cabinet secretaries.”
President McCarthy and Secretary of War Jim Jordan? God help us all.
Informed by his war gaming, McCarthy waxed eloquent with reporters about his foreign policy views when asked a question about Ukraine. “I have a real concern of the aggression of Russia. I have a more greater concern of this axis of power coming together of China, Russia, North Korea and Iran,” he announced. “I watched this happen in the world another time before I was ever born.”
Without explaining how that was possible, he continued: “I think it is utmost important that Russia lose. I think it’s utmost important that China does not think to go capture Taiwan now that President Xi changed his constitution and is now serving another five terms and believes to go in there.
I think it’s a very responsibility that yes Russia loses in this aggression.”
Well, okay then.
Two days later, McCarthy, asked a question about China, offered some high-level thoughts
 on the Second World War.
“What should they have done when they first saw Hitler, Mussolini and Japan getting together?” he asked. “What dependencies did they become weak upon? What aggressions did they look the other way? On building up a military of Hitler even though it went against the Treaty of Versailles. Or the movement in of Czechoslovakia and Austria. Or the movement into Crimea. Or the desire to take Taiwan. So walking through the pandemic thinking about where was America waking up to medical supplies?”
I think I know the name of the war game House Republicans were playing: Mad Libs.
[emphasis added]
How is it possible that this incoherent man has been elected to be Speaker of the House?
Kevin McCarthy is a national embarrassment.

Why is a billionaire-funded super PAC aligned with Republican Rep. Kevin McCarthy playing a role in talks over who will become the next Speaker of the House?
Democratic lawmakers and campaign finance watchdogs raised that question Wednesday after the Congressional Leadership Fund (CLF) and the Club for Growth—another right-wing organization bankrolled by billionaires—announced a deal under which CLF won't spend any money on "open-seat primaries in safe Republican districts," a key demand of McCarthy opponents who felt their preferred candidates have been snubbed by the deep-pocketed super PAC.
As Fortune reported Wednesday, "far-right lawmakers have complained that their preferred candidates for the House were being treated unfairly as the campaign fund put its resources elsewhere."
CLF spent nearly $260 million during the 2022 election cycle, including millions to help reelect Republicans who are trying to tank his speakership bid. The super PAC's top donors in the midterm cycle were banking scion Timothy Mellon, Blackstone CEO Stephen Schwarzman, and Citadel CEO Kenneth Griffin—all billionaires.
The deal between CLF and Club for Growth came as McCarthy continued his frantic efforts to cobble together the necessary 218 votes, offering a number of concessions to Republicans who have rejected the California lawmaker in six consecutive votes—and possibly more on Thursday.
Sen. Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii) was among those who raised concerns over CLF and Club for Growth's role in the ongoing Speakership debacle.
"It is creepy that dark money super PACs are explicitly part of the negotiation regarding who becomes Speaker of the United States House," the Senator wrote on Twitter.
Federal law prohibits candidates from coordinating with super PACs, though the independence mandate is often flouted in practice. In a press release, CLF and Club for Growth insisted that "no one in Congress or their staff has directed or suggested CLF take any action here."
"Interesting that an independent super PAC that isn't supposed to coordinate with members of Congress comes to an agreement to benefit a specific member of Congress," responded Adam Smith, action fund director of End Citizens United.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Club for Growth, which bills itself as a "leading free-enterprise advocacy group" that promotes tax cuts and deregulation, originally opposed McCarthy's run for Speaker, pushing him to agree to a number of concessions backed by far-right House Republicans.
But the organization, which has received funding from the Koch network and other right-wing forces, suggested Wednesday that it will support McCarthy if he upholds the concessions he has offered thus far.
"This agreement on super PACs fulfills a major concern we have pressed for," Club for Growth president David McIntosh said in a statement.
While the CLF-Club for Growth agreement was seen as a major victory for the anti-McCarthy faction, it's not clear whether it will be enough to end the impasse. The House is set to convene again Thursday at noon.
Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.), a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, argued in a tweet Wednesday that "these types of shady, backroom deals—which indebt our lawmakers to corporations and special interests—are corrupting our democracy."
"This is why I started the bipartisan Congressional No PAC caucus and have never taken PAC money, and refuse to start," Khanna added.

While Liz Cheney won't be in the next Congress, isn't it true that the Speaker of the House doesn't technically need to be in Congress? She might be the only one who get can get enough votes from the Democrats and some Republicans to get elected Speaker.
That is true: the Speaker of the House doesn't actually have to be a member of the House of Representatives. I wasn't thinking about it that way.
