Not to be a brat but they're closing like my entire half of the Red Line for construction over the summer starting this week so I'm gonna need to leave earlier in the morning to make sure I can get to work on time on the ✨metro shuttle✨, and not only do I have to deal with that tomorrow but I also have to go straight from work to a concert that I don't want to go to and I'm probably not going to get home until fucking 11 pm and then I get to GET UP THE NEXT MORNING AND DEAL WITH THE METRO BULLSHIT ALL OVER AGAIN YAYYY

re: fake dating troubles, maybe it doesn't /have/ to be a viable plan?
i'm not in this fandom yet so idk how in character would that be, but maybe they/one of them could realize later that oh shit, this will NOT work, and then they'd need to navigate the political mess along with whatever stage of relationship they'd be in at the time.
if one of them is too smart for that then he could be unaware of the exact circumstances. or maybe just at first not care that it wouldn't work
ohhh thats a good point... thats a good point.... if we keep the original premise (that maizuru is the one that started it and not either of the two actually involved), maybe she didnt Need it to work out - the fact of their 'going out' at all was enough to satisfy the requirements for succession (ie being 'interesting enough')... but then when it becomes real they actually DO have to navigate that mess....

(Pastor Chris Mullis) In this message, I'll share some important advice from the Bible where Jethro told his son-n-law, Moses, how important it is to delegate when you lead a big group of people.  This is important advice for churches, businesses, and any large organizations.  Then, I will review some of the highlights for my church from 2022 and look forward to our hopes for 2023.

[Transcript of a conversation on Bluesky]
K.B. Spangler @kbspangler.com
One holdover that's stuck with me from Trump's term in office is how few people actually call in. My congressman's office said they were BOGGLED at how many calls they had gotten on a particular issue, so I asked how many...
They replied, "Seventeen."
jamie quinn 🏳️‍⚧️ @threnody.bsky.social KOSA is moving through the senate right now, where it has significant support. but nothing's final until it's final. if your senator's a democrat, call & email. use this script. it's timed to 1:00 and it won't take long. even with enforcement moved to the FTC, this bill is too easily weaponized.
[Embedded Text Image Transcript]
My name is _ and I'm one of your constituents. I'm calling to urge you to vote NO on KOSA - the Kids Online Safety Act. The bill's sponsors claim it will protect kids by placing a duty of care on online platforms to prevent anything that could be harmful.
The power to decide what's harmful has been ceded to the FTC. FTC leadership is made by presidential appointment. Current president Lina Khan may proceed fairly, but what happens when the next Donald Trump is in the Oval Office? What if it's Trum himself? Do you trust a Trump appointee not to abuse this enforcement power?
KOSA claims to protect kids, but it's poorly designed and, given time, it will absolutely and without question, harm LGBTQ children, adults, and anyone who needs information on reproductive health or abortion.
KOSA author, Senator Marsha Blackburn, said she introduced KOSA in part - and I quote - "to protect minor children from the transgender in our society." The Heritage Foundation proudly said they'll apply pressure through KOSA to block information about abortion, reproductive health, & LGBTQ issues.
Vote NO on KOSA.

So, yes, your voice does make a difference because if everyone else is thinking "Well, my voice doesn't matter so why bother" then you and sixteen of your online buddies can go ahead and straight-up boggle a congressman.

Wayne Douglas Gretzky CC is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player and former head coach. He played 20 seasons in the National Hockey League for four teams from 1979 to 1999.
Born: 26 January 1961 (age 62 years), Brantford, Canada.
Office Attendance: Wayne Gretzky never recorded a single absence due to injury throughout his high school hockey career. This impressive durability became a hallmark of his professional career as well.
Strategic Point System: Gretzky's point-scoring ability is legendary, but what's less known is that if he never scored a goal in his career, he would still be the all-time leading scorer in NHL history based on assists alone. This underscores his incredible playmaking skills.
Youngest NHL Captain: At the age of 22, Gretzky became the youngest captain in NHL history when he was appointed captain of the Edmonton Oilers in 1983. His leadership qualities and strategic mindset were evident even at a young age.
Trade Shakeup: Despite his incredible success with the Edmonton Oilers, Gretzky was traded to the Los Angeles Kings in 1988 in a move that shocked the hockey world. This trade had not only a significant impact on Gretzky's career but also changed the dynamics of the NHL and popularized hockey in the United States.
Olympic Involvement: Gretzky was not only a dominant force in professional hockey but also played a key role in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. He served as the executive director of the Canadian men's hockey team, leading them to a gold medal and solidifying his influence on the sport beyond his playing days.

There will be some dark days ahead but we mustn't lose hope. This is not an act by a rational, stable state. In the past couple of days, it has bombed Yemen, Beirut, Tehran in an attempt to trigger total war

Israel is collapsing and its leadership knows it. This assassination is a desperate act to stop the inevitable.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
DISCLAIMER : Just a little reminder that you're doing great, even when it doesn't feel like it. Life can be tough, but you’re tougher, and the storm will pass. You are so deeply loved, just as you are, and it's perfectly okay to take a step back when you need to. Give yourself permission to rest, to breathe, and to simply be. You’re not alone—there’s a world of support around you, even in the quiet moments. Hold on, because better days are coming, and until then, know that you’re wrapped in warmth, care, and endless encouragement. You've got this!🩵🫂
🩵 Aries Moon
1. You don’t need to prove yourself to anybody. You are absolutely loved just the way you are.
2. Learn to balance your need for independence with the importance of meaningful connections.
3. Don’t let impulsiveness lead you to make decisions that you may regret later. Take time before you react and to think things through.
4. Embrace your natural leadership qualities, but remember to consider the needs of others too.
5. It’s okay to ask for help when you need it. You don’t always have to do everything on your own.

🩵 Gemini Moon
1. Your thoughts are not who you are. Don’t define yourself based on them; you are so much more. Learn to separate yourself from your thoughts.
2. Stay curious and open to learning new things, but don’t overwhelm yourself with too many interests at once.
3. Take time to connect with your inner self, beyond the constant stream of thoughts.

BEIJING — China’s struggling real estate developers won’t be getting a major bailout, Chinese authorities have indicated, warning that those who “harm the interests of the masses” will be punished.
“For real estate companies that are seriously insolvent and have lost the ability to operate, those that must go bankrupt should go bankrupt, or be restructured, in accordance with the law and market principles,” Ni Hong, Minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, said at a press conference Saturday.
“Those who commit acts that harm the interests of the masses will be resolutely investigated and punished in accordance with the law,” he said. “They will be made to pay the due price.”
That’s according to a CNBC translation of his Mandarin-language remarks published in an official transcript of the press conference, held alongside China’s annual parliamentary meetings.
Ni’s comments come as major real estate developers from Evergrande to Country Garden have defaulted on their debt, while plunging new home sales have put future business into question.
In 2020, Beijing cracked down on developers’ high reliance on debt for growth in an attempt to clamp down on property market speculation. But many developers soon ran out of money to finish building apartments, which are typically sold to homebuyers in China ahead of completion. Some buyers stopped paying their mortgages in a boycott.
Authorities have since announced measures to provide some developers with financing. But the national stance on reducing the role of real estate in the economy hasn’t changed.
This year’s annual government gathering has emphasized the country’s focus on investing in and building up high-end manufacturing capabilities. In contrast, the leadership has not mentioned the massive real estate sector as much.
Real estate barely came up during a press conference focused on the economy last week, while Ni was speaking during a meeting that focused on “people’s livelihoods.”
Ni said authorities would promote housing sales and the development of affordable housing, while emphasizing the need to consider the longer term.
Near-term changes in the property sector have a significant impact on China’s overall economy.
Real estate was once about 25% of China’s GDP, when including related sectors such as construction. UBS analysts estimated late last year that property now accounts for about 22% of the economy.
Last week, Premier Li Qiang said in his government work report that in the year ahead, China would “move faster to foster a new development model for real estate.”
“We will scale up the building and supply of government-subsidized housing and improve the basic systems for commodity housing to meet people’s essential need for a home to live in and their different demands for better housing,” an English-language version of the report said.
next time you complain about how things are in America, consider that if you lived in some kind of scary communist country like China, you wouldn't even get to fund a bailout for the real estate company owners who ruined the economy like you can (whether you like it or not) in the good old US of A! 🇺🇲

During a keynote speech in New York on Monday from the managing director of Google's Israel business, an employee in the company's cloud division protested publicly, proclaiming “I refuse to build technology that powers genocide.”
The Google Cloud engineer was subsequently fired, CNBC has learned[...]
There was more internal controversy this week, also tied to the crisis in Gaza.
Ahead of an International Women's Day Summit in Silicon Valley on Thursday, Google's employee message board was hit with an influx of staffer comments about the company's military contracts with Israel. The online forum, which was going to be used to help inform what questions were asked of executives at the event, was shut down for what a spokesperson described to CNBC as "divisive content that is disruptive to our workplace."[...]
In recent weeks, more than 600 Google workers signed a letter addressed to leadership asking that the company drop its sponsorship of the annual Mind the Tech conference promoting the Israeli tech industry. The event on Monday in New York featured an address from Barak Regev, managing director of Google Israel.
A video of the employee protesting during the speech went viral.
“No cloud for apartheid,” the employee yelled. Members of the crowd booed him as he was escorted by security out of the building.
Regev then told the crowd, “Part of the privilege of working in a company, which represents democratic values is giving the stage for different opinions."
A Google spokesperson said the employee was fired for "interfering with an official company-sponsored event" in an email to CNBC on Thursday. "This behavior is not okay, regardless of the issue, and the employee was terminated for violating our policies." The spokesperson didn't specify which policies were violated.[...]
Ahead of Google's International Women's Day summit on Thursday, called Her Power, Her Voice, some women filled the company's internal discussion forum Dory with questions about how the Israeli military contract and Google's AI chatbot Gemini are impacting Palestinian women. Some of the comments had hundreds of "upvotes" from employees, according to internal correspondence viewed by CNBC.[...]
Another highly-rated comment on the forum asked how the company is recognizing Mai Ubeid, a young woman and former Google software engineer who was reportedly killed in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza along with her family late last year. (Some employees and advocacy groups gathered to honor Ubeid in New York in December.)
One employee asked, "Given the ongoing International War Crimes against Palestinian women, how can we use the 'Her Power, Her Voice' theme to amplify their daily struggles?" The comment received over 100 upvotes.
"It's essential to question how we can truly support the notion of 'Her Power, Her Voice,' while at the same time, ignoring the cries for help from Palestinian women who have been systematically deprived of their fundamental human rights," another said.
As the number of comments swelled, Google prematurely shut down the forum.
