🐍Medusa is back!🐍

It's been so long since I drew her, and I absolutely LOVE the new design. 💕💜💕

Update on her backstory: now it's a mixture of the two different origin stories from the "canon" mythology.

She was born a gorgon, but she was also the most loyal priestess of Athena. 🦉

She wears a headscarf to cover the base of her head. She lost a few of her snakes before she became Bronthea's priestess, but lost almost the rest when the temple fell. The scares left are incredibly sensitive.

She's the only one other than Bronthea (and her plot twist spy) who leaves the island. Though Medusa never physically leaves, only spiritually.

For those unaware, modern helenistic paganism recognizes her as a deity (not to be confused with a goddess), and many people worship, and or work with her.

Now that the temple is mostly empty, she takes time out of her day to help witches and practitioners with their magic.

Her job didn't change, only that now she's only Bronthea's right hand, but never was her high priestess (check the previous post of Bronthea for that).

there's a lot to say about the modern depictions of medusa and all, but one of my biggest pet peeves is that it also portrays perseus as some sort of macho glory seeking ass who kills women for clout. like, he was protecting his mom. his mom was being forced into an abusive marriage and he took on a seemingly impossible task to save her.

Thinking about monsters right now. More specifically braiding your medusa gf's hair.

I like the thought of a medusa that still has some hair mixed in with her adorable little snakes. Just make her more snek by giving her a big soft cushiony snake tail of a lower half.

But back to her hair! She would adore that you trust her and her snakes enough to gently bump against them as you brush and braid her hair. Your just happily settled down onto her plush tail while your fingers lace through her silky black strands praising her for how soft her hair is while also giving little love boops to the sweet little snakes on her head searching for attention.

You make sure to give both her scalp and and sneks a good rub really easing al those muscles as she grumbles out happy little hums. But as her snakes start to get more attention your swamped with giving them kisses and pats, barely able to give her attention and she pouts about it. Not getting jelly but enough to where you riddle her shoulders in kisses as a sorry.

Maybe even a little snek gets a bit too attached when your trying to braid so the little thing gets braided into her hair and is left with a silly little beard. xD

You're telling me Nesta Archeron, the human girl with the AUDACITY to steal from the literal goddess of the Fae, who got every High Lord to listen to her without using threats or aggression, doesn't end up as a High Lady, but Feyre a girl who nearly cost Prythian the war on Hybern over a stupid vendetta is? Though I haven't gone into much detail about Stan and Ford in the Familiar AU, I've thought of something funny.

The Stans went on Unspecified Adventures together when they were younger men. Partners, in fact! And while I'm likely never going to get into the details of their eventual falling out - there's potential in those adventures!

Who knows. Maybe monsterfucking kinda runs in the Pines family, but not the one you'd think.

Stan chatting up a Siren, before Ford has to yank his brother back by the shirt. Wondering where the hell Stan went, only to find him partying with some nymphs in a lake and coming THIS close to being drowned. Hell, maybe when Stan describes one of his exes as a 'shrill harpy', he's being literal about it.

A twenty-something on the prowl and on the adventuring path is gonna run into SO many tempting creatures - and the number of times Ford saved Stan's dumb ass from human-ish ladies would go into the DOZENS.
