Progress of Rowan’s Thunder Junction design. There’s so much more to be done but it’s coming along a lot better (and more complex!!) than I thought. A bit tricky with my iPad still on the fritz tho…

Originally, I wanted to combine cowboy + witch as a motif, but when I ended up spending the past week all over the place with some truly eye-scorching sketches of whatthefuckery. So I went back to Rowan’s OG designs for Eldraine and Strixhaven and the direction became much clearer, and, dare I say, much truer to her character identity. I even included Rowan’s old school satchel!

Her legs are not bare, she is wearing stockings. Shorts and stockings was my personal choice, I love that combination and I think it just suits Rowan perfectly.

I’m gonna cry coloring this… :,)

see the truth about nanami anthy and touga (my three faves in case you werent aware <3) is that they are all mirrors and mimics and reflections of one another and furthermore, by being so terrified/horrified/disgusted by this, they all lose sight of their personhood and melt into each other and try to violently rip away when it’s like. what they need is understanding what they need is to wholly see one another and not flinch away. but that’s almost impossible for all of them for 10000 different reasons that make me tear my hair out. you guys know that quirky moment when you’re so disgusted with yourself that you’re unable to see anything else in the people who resemble you, even vaguely? alternately, when you refuse to acknowledge that resemblance for preservation’s sake? im just so normal about them honestly (lie)

Okay this is kind of relating to my previous post about Archie Sonic but is more... General fandom related? Idk I just think that a lot of fandoms, including this one, have problems with letting characters, especially characters mainly on the side of good, fuck up and make mistakes not just due to misunderstandings/being tricked/poorly chosing words, but legitimately fucking up due to actual, real flaws. I've seen so many people attempt to downplay negative character traits or straight up saying "no, those don't exist". Specifically in the Sonic fandom I've seen people say that Sonic's ego doesn't exist, that Rouge would never steal from a small business and that she's a "moral" thief, that Shadow never attempted to kill anybody, that Amy was never obsessed with Sonic, and so, so many more, and that's just... It's so BORING to me. I'm sure this is tied in with people being afraid of liking "problematic" characters but honestly I don't care about the reasoning because it just makes these stories and characters so much more boring. How are you supposed to have stuff like redemption arcs, characters learning from mistakes, characters growing and changing, without having them mess up in the first place? It makes no sense to me
