by Fraser Myers
We have become accustomed to the ‘two-tier policing’ of protests, where ‘pro-Palestine’ demos are exempted from Britain’s usually stringent hate-speech laws. Islamist and anti-Semitic protesters have been free to call for a violent ‘jihad’, to demand the genocidal destruction of Israel and to wave banners with swastikas, without any fear of being clamped down on by police. Now we might be seeing the emergence of ‘two-tier healthcare’, where opposition to Israel can get you bumped up to the front of an NHS waiting list.
Jess Phillips, Labour MP and Keir Starmer’s safeguarding minister, last night told an audience of north London theatregoers about a recent visit to A&E. After having difficulty breathing, she went to her local Birmingham hospital. She described the overcrowding she found there as akin to a ‘war zone’. Luckily for her, she was whisked to the front of the queue.
Apparently, a Palestinian doctor not only recognised Phillips as the local Labour MP, but also thanked her for opposition to Israel. ‘He was sort of like, “I like you. You voted for a ceasefire”. [Because of that] I got through quicker’, she admitted. Her political views, in other words, allowed her to receive preferential treatment.
I don’t know what’s more damning: that this took place or that Phillips gladly blabbed about it. Following her downplaying of Islamist thugs menacing journalists in her constituency, the Member for Birmingham Yardley already looks set to be a constant source of unwitting revelations for the media, and a constant PR headache for this already faltering Labour government.

End Of Terror Meeting with Politician, Jessica Morden MP
This morning I met with my local MP Jessica Morden. Jessica represents Labour and is the parliamentary representative for the Newport East constituency. Over the past few years that I have known Jessica we have had two face-to-face meetings scheduled that have unfortunately not materialised due to me being sectioned on both occasions by mental health authorities. It was to be third time lucky and…

yeah no this is actually my favourite response so far
#im still spitting over this but it's also just so funny#david tennant#the best bit by far tho is a dogshit mp lecturing a successful actor on optics and then 24h later opposes labour's proposals#for closing the racial pay gap with the rebuttal that identifying mismatching pay based on race is going along the same lines as apartheid#hun you just had a go at someone for telling you - a black woman - to shut up and now you're saying that forcing companies to report#where they have disparity of pay between white employees and bame employees is morally reprehensible???#IS THE MINISTER OF EQUALITIES IN THE ROOM WITH US???#i promise this won't turn into a politics blog but you couldn't write this!!!! you simply couldn't!!!!

if yall dont know whats happening in British politics right now, the guy who is like 90% likely to become the next pm, who is the leader of the (previously) more left wing party labour has been systematically removing all the left-wing MPs (members of parliament) who are likely to get re-elected and telling them they cannot stand as a labour MP at the election in july. he has been replacing them with people who are more right wing, for example one of them has a day job as a ceo of a privatised healthcare company, and another is literally an israel lobbyist. labour is becoming a right wing, racist, and blatantly pro-israel party. if labour gets in, it will no longer be "ohhh we totally cant take a stand on israel :///" they are likely to become explicitly pro-israel. they have abandoned all their left wing policies. they will be the tories 2.0, but worse in many areas. it feels like this country is copying americas lead with one more """left wing""" party whos campaign line seems to be "we're not as bad as the other guys!" whos policies suck ass as they can freely become more right wing and not what the public wants because "there's no better option". it SUCKS. and its NOT TRUE.
if you're in the uk, please look at your constituency and try to vote green, or independent, or whoever isnt labour or tory. party politics are failing us, we are NOT a two party country, we can do better than labour.
#HANG THAT GOVERNMENT.#lib dems policies arent great but at least they back suspending arms sales to israel#i didnt even touch on the shit they pulled with diane abbott or the other mps theyve blocked from standing#they literally waited until the last minute to tell them to make it harder for them to stand as independent#they would have waited longer! some of them were already campaigning!#im so disgusted i dont even have the words. genuinely this close to joining the green party and helping them campaign a bit#im waiting for my mp to be told shes not allowed to stand for labour bc she signed the ceasefire letter.#you know. the one kier fired people for signing.#ukpol

Random question that I could probably Google, but does anyone know what would happen if a party has a big majority in an election and win, but their party leader didn't get elected in their constituency? Is there any kind of protocol for that happening or is it something that ever has happened?
#not that i think it would happen at all but im just curious about if in theory it did#like say starmer lost his seat but labour got massive majority#would party leader still be pm despite not being an mp? or would they have to get a new party leader from elected mps?

Just blocking anyone clowning on that post tbh. Yes, fuck the Cass review. Instead of doom-mongering about something that's not been implemented yet, can we fight the good fight now we have a government that might actually listen, as opposed to a bunch of crazed bigots who think increased child suicide will win them votes?
#there is actually an argument to be had within the party still over this#it's not been implemented yet so make sure your voice is heard!#if you just go 'fuck them they're as bad as the others' and refuse to contact your mp and engage and make your voice heard#then what are you even doing to help?#the labour party is no more monolothic on this than the greens or snp actually#so make your arguments and make them clearly and in the right direction#uk politics
