#8 - What if Minecraft had Blue Whales?

The largest of all sea life, an adult Blue Whale would measure in at up to 30 blocks long, easily making it the largest animal in the game and utterly dwarfing even the Ender Dragon. Despite this, and their incredibly high HP rivaling even that of the Wither, they are peaceful animals and mean you no harm. Unlike most aquatic life, they are persistent, like land passive mobs, meaning they don't despawn. Keep track of pods as they migrate and take in the beauty of the sights and sounds of whale-watching!

Blue Whales only spawn in Deep Ocean biomes, with the exception of the Deep Frozen Ocean. They spawn in groups of 1-3, and if more than one spawn, one will always be a calf. Blue Whales are always on the hunt for microscopic shrimp (not unlike the Flamingo), and will periodically open their mouth, exposing their rows of Baleen. Each time they do this, there is a 15% chance they will enter love mode and breed. The chances of this happening to two Blue Whales at the same time is low, so the birth of a new blue whale calf is always an occasion to celebrate!

While Blue Whales can stay underwater for a long time, even longer than Dolphins, they are still air-breathers and require the ability to breach. When they do, they will spray water out of their blowhole, at higher velocity depending on how long they were underwater for. After a few hours underwater, anything standing above where they breach could get launched clear past build limit! While difficult to corral (or should I say coral?), I'm sure some interesting contraptions could be made with that.

All in all, a gigantic, hard-to-breed, endangered leviathan of the ocean. Hopefully the player can keep an eye on them and help raise their numbers both in-game and out.
