-We’re doing something a little different to start this session -- a scene for the audience! 

-A home office, a TV, flipping through channels. Landing on the evening news (Channel 3). THERE’S A BIRD PERSON? K. Roberts -- the news anchor. Topics of interest: rising oceans levels, mobile phone location services saving a life, pollen (?), someone from KT coming to be interviewed

-Also Porcia Eaton (a bug bear) is reporting live from Corsica 

-Calling the ambulance is what gave us away -- since they couldn’t reach the town 

-There’s a whole load of arcane investigators (pigs) trying to figure out what happened 

-They tried to call me back after the ambulance couldn’t get in and we were plane shifted (lol) 

-A voice is heard from off camera: “Dinner, my love?” 

-The person watching recorded the news broadcast

-This is almost certainly Fleur and Holloway 

-Oran is not sure if it’s back (?) (The town, maybe?) → if this the case, we were, Naomi plane shifted the town back last sesh 

-The soul trees are still here 

-The pools are in fact all connected, built on ley line hot spots. Asking if Oran can teach Naomi how to use them so we can fast travel 

-They did in fact use the pools to do the “baptisms” → separate the target’s divinity, their impulsive side, the “in tune” side → feed it to the Cor and allow them to be controlled 

-The Bestowing was the reunion of the two sides, a brutal ritual… the other selves were usually hungry

-Why aasimar, then? → theorized to be needed for ascension, a concentration of the divine 

-All of the Coralogia had their own offices, Whitmer’s is magically protected 

-Naomi gave Oran his diary back 

-The sigil on Whitmer’s office recognized her touch but will murder anyone else 

-Naomi can recall the Cor souls ?? 

-She crushed a flower from the Grove in her hands, as the petals fall they disappear before hitting the ground 

-The energy coalesces into a dark figure, looks similar to Dark Cass? 

-This figure touches the door and it explodes 

-They’re still there…everybody that was in the Cor. I just know they’re there anew -- the people who should have been dead → I think Naomi said this 

-The spell was conjuration and divine in nature

-The Hive Mind still exists just not in the form of the Cor? Not tied to the elder brain, but tied to the Grove 

-A shared roots system 

-Cass picked the lock on Whitmer’s office (I think this is the first lock we’ve ever picked?? It’s not -- the first was Mira’s bedroom. This is the second) 

-The room is similar to Oran’s office -- however, the room is uncharacteristically messy. This is the office of a very desperate person 

-Lots of work stuff -- resumes from prospects, ungraded papers from undergrads (focus on history and religion) 

-Stuff about druids 

-She had a list of papers to check on a visit to Aurora 

-A study from a student, 25-30 years ago (this is almost certainly Ellie) 

-”Sources of the Divine” 

-Also researching the auroras 

-The supernova? 

-VE called the library -- every single one of these papers are in the “special collection” and can only be accessed in person 

-Cass is looking for secret shit 

-Whitmer has a record of high performing students that dropped out recently 

-A record of Corsican citizens along with key secrets that could be used for blackmail 

-The Golden Angels have a special mark and more information than most other people 

-Rebecca Horn (the GA before Naomi) → Miles Horn. She was very bright and had an extremely protective and intelligent father 

-Whitmer’s personal journal → she was trying to identify for the deal was made with

-Cass’ research is certainly here 

-During the Cor fight, Cass tried to reach Corcillum and got Sonos -- he didn’t go anywhere, he was just changed 

-Sonos on the TV? 

-Whitmer has no love for TC, saw them as a necessary evil

-Everything they found about arcane tech got handed to TC 

-An ascension arms race 

-Whitmer had a specific TC contact: Alestra Haldia → we have her email 

-Whitmer has a laptop 

-The TC emails are all encrypted, use a lot of coded language 

-Most recent email is from about a week ago, regarding Rylar’s position 

-Regularly met up in person to speak (at Silver Echoes Park) 

-DN has known who N has been praying to this whole time 

DN: “It’s us, it’s always been us. What do you mean?”

-DN is typing on Whitmer’s laptop?  

-When N asked for help she saw DN? But she wasn’t TRYING to…? 

-VE cast magic circle, and Cass casted legend lore from the scroll (from like session 2) focusing on Saetus 

-Cass’ magic is present, the dusty violet motes 

-At first, nothing seems to happen. We notice that the ceiling fan has stopped. We feel an unnatural stillness. Oran, in the doorway, is frozen. A ball of light. The feeling of magical pressure. Twisting and turning. Standing in a vast, limitless space, like outer space. Surrounded by stars. As we look at them, they start to move, rearrange themselves into constellations that turn into actual images and scenes. 

1) Several figures. Different time periods. Dissolving and reforming into the next. We don’t recognize any of them, until the last one. Helen Smith. She extends a hand. (This is the evolution of the hosts of Saetus). 

2) Zoom into a town. Woodvale! A very long time ago. A young Helen is drinking a sodie with her besties. 

3) HS at the church is Woodvale -- Ms. Moody is not there. HS’ mom is there. She is participating in service. 

4) The old one room school -- HS is furiously taking notes. Seems very studious. She drew a perfect sigil and then was able to cast the flame cantrip 

5) She’s traveling through the forest, using her flame cantrip as a torch. She stumbles upon a green, glowing stone (DIR). She is proud. 

6) An unfamiliar lab area -- Helen is there, tinkering with a device (the tech seems old to us). A professor is passing out graded assignments. Helen has failed. 

7) A dorm room. HS is at a desk, ruminating on the failing grade. Looking desolate. She’s writing a letter home. She has the DIR with her. It’s late at night. A hand has reached out to her, it is writing something for her. The stars blink out until we’re back in the empty space. 

8) (This last one was a peripheral image, we had to specifically spot it) Cass casting a spell outside WV -- at the bluffs. She has casted detect magic and we see DN push N off a cliff. (This was the moment where Cass was able to burn two spell slots, a more significant moment than we thought before.) 

-We’re back in this empty void space for a long time. Whatever this is…is significant. Darkness. Two points of light opposite from one another moving toward us

-Helen in her current state, she feels…different. This LOOKS like Helen Smith. The lights moving, we can’t quite comprehend them. We rationalize it as hands reaching out, like in the Woodvale mines. That is how we can understand it. The hands reach out and touch, but they are cupping something between them, protecting it. We are the thing being protected. 

-A blinding light of an explosion as the lights connect 

-The hands touching again 

-Most of them are the same as the last time, but Cass is shaking hands with Norman 

-Helen standing there smiling after our eyes readjust -- feels outside of the spell. That was really her! No problems there, I assume 

-We’re back in the office 

-The hand at the desk that was writing for HS, it was writing the designs for the first computer 

-There are a lot of parallels between Helen Smith and Cass 

-The shifting images of people at the beginning were like hosts than warlocks 

-Heading back to the Pritchard home 

-The news is right outside 

-The cops are blaming protestors, because of course they are (they specifically named The Vanguard (lol) and other eco-conscious groups) → we spoke with him for a period. Stupid, taking credit for saving everyone, obviously being fed what to say. We kind of caught him out in this. 

-We tried to lay low in terms of being on camera, didn’t give an interview but EXTREMELY snooped 

-We got a business card for the news people 

-Cass has disguised herself as the cop, using the Mira necklace to mimic his voice. Telling Porcia (the bug bear) that there has been a development in the case -- trying to get it record (they’re not live any more) 

-Cass as the cop said the cause of the disturbance was caused by a glitch in the Sonos program -- asking people to turn it off

Porcia: “What are you doing? you know we can’t fucking air that.”

Cass, disguised: “Do you ever feel bad about what we do?” 

Porcia: “No. 🙂”

-She’s an icon, idc 

-Calling an emergency town hall to…update everyone 

-Ezra locked their parents in their bedroom once they came back to themselves 

-Ellie did a quick check up on Leah, Ezra, and Adrien (who was a little shell shocked) 

-Adrien’s internal ley system was fully in tact, Leah and Ezra were still the same (Naomi is still in possession of their dark selves) 

-Naomi confronting her parents

N: “I assume all the work you did to stay in their good graces was so you could still speak once I was dead.” (To Cyrus) 

N: “Tell me everything.” 

-Johanna didn’t know 

-Cyrus lied straight to our faces

Johanna: “I remember. Now.”

-Cyrus looked to Leah to back up his bullshit, and she shot him down. Standing up to him. 

-Cyrus helped Whitmer source individuals to be fed to the Cor, and then stole their shit for the collection 

-Miles #confirmed was all but smunched (spared only to serve as an example) for trying to save Rebecca 

-Cyrus…is just a coward

-VE have a vial of ash from The Cor 

-Ellie told Naomi that E+L’s ley systems were still off, she returned their shadows back. Everyone is healed! 

-Ellie went to the bathroom to clean up before the meeting (we all looked like Hell). Pricked her finger on her fang, and dripped blood into the chalice. Trying to reach out to Vitalia. Suddenly feeling very aware of their breath, their heart beat. The air around them. The familiar static-like feeling. 

-The blood transformed into a red rose. Ellie whispered into it that she would help if asked

i wrote 12ish pages in a new journal today detailing all the strange things going trough my brain and what’s been causing my anxiety and i’m happy to say it really truly helped me!!! idk what it is abt unraveling all the thoughts up in this noggin but it helps me feel a lot lighter

ok but what if

the sibuna merger is never a thing because eddie’s initiated into sibuna at the end of season 2 at nina’s insistence

so while the letter drama kind of still happens, the animosity doesn’t linger

and while he and kt do immediately bond, it’s not quite to the degree they do originally, and patricia isn’t quite as jealous of the two of them

meanwhile as the mystery ramps up, eddie begins to realize just how much burden patricia was carrying the previous year without him

he wonders how she managed to do this for two years without losing it.

“I was far from perfect. you should know that better than anyone.”

the two of them and kt end up getting paired off a lot; with patricia’s lookout and sneaking-around experience, eddie’s osirian powers, and kt’s uncanny ability to sense when they’re close to uncovering something, they’re easily the most efficient trio in sibuna (when they’re not annoying each other into oblivion).

it helps, actually. although he’s pissed by the way things ended, and she’s burying every ounce of feelings she has for him, being around each other so much forces both of them to put everything aside and get their jobs done

eventually, the easy conversation comes back. then, the light teasing and banter.

patricia had worried, the entire flight back to the uk at the end of summer, that she may have ruined their friendship forever. but by halloween, that’s but a distant memory. 

(kt’s going insane watching the two of them act like a couple in all ways but one. “can’t we just lock them in a closet and force them to make up?” she laments to joy and mara one day. “trust me, I tried so many times last term, it did nothing,” joy says. “if anything, it made them worse,” mara agrees.)

life continues as normal (relatively)…until the eclipse ceremony and it’s aftermath

eddie’s not sure what to think about the betrayal he feels from his father. to everyone else, mr. sweet has always done things like this, so while they’re sympathetic, eddie doesn’t feel like he can grieve around them.

so he’s well and truly surprised when patricia takes him deep into the forest one day under the guise of finding leaves for an art project. “okay,” she says, crossing her arms. “i can cover for you for five minutes. scream, cry, curse, whatever you want about your dad, but you’ve got to do something, because moping around is clearly not working out.” she then turns and leaves. he does as he’s told.

“eddie’s, like. your number one fan,” patricia tells kt after they find out about frobisher being alive. but this time, there’s no hidden meaning to it, and (to kt’s ears) no hint of any underlying emotion. the conversation moves on.

patricia never goes on that date with jerome, never asks eddie to meet her in the living room. he’s drawn to the crypt by a text from her saying she and fabian discovered something in there they need him to see.

patricia’s the only one whose not convinced that eddie disappearing is normal behavior. by midday, she’s panicked enough that she goes searching for him by herself, arriving at the crypt just in time to see him jumping off the roof

she starts to run to him, but he sprints forward, grabs her arm, and drags her deeper into the woods. “victor’s on the prowl,” he manages to choke out before collapsing on the grass out of hunger and dehydration.

luckily patricia’s got some baby carrots and a chocolate bar in her bag. he eventually gets enough energy to explain the vision he saw.

“aww, were you so worried about me you jumped through the roof?” she teases, but stops when she sees the shell-shocked look in his eyes. “we should tell the others,” she says instead.

mara becomes the first sinner, her jealousy and anger used by denby to manipulate her. she’s the one who smashes the phonograph (having no conscience means she has no problem snooping around, so she finds kt’s diary and uses that to spy on sibuna and figure out their plan). kt’s never a suspect herself, but sibuna starts to turn on each other anyway.

eddie watches patricia with ben during the dodgeball tourney and wonders if this is some kind of cosmic joke.

she’s free to hang out with whoever, obviously, but really? him?

(patricia, on the other hand, takes careful mental notes of ben’s practices and implements them at anubis’s own; she finds herself on youtube late at night, watching dodgeball strategy videos. she hadn’t done that for any of the previous year’s tournaments.)

(it’s because this is their final year and she might as well put in some effort…not because she desperately wants to meet her captain’s unreasonably high expectations because they’re clearly some kind of defense mechanism against a childhood rival. not at all.)

fabian and mr. sweet are captured not long after. patricia insists on staying behind with alfie when he’s caught in the chimney; eddie and kt escape.

the two of them are immediately separated. they try patricia first, but knowing the details from eddie’s vision and the information in the book makes patricia’s normal level of stubbornness increase hundred-fold. she refuses to sin at all. 

team evil gives up and patricia finds herself locked in a dark closet. alfie’s taken a few hours later. ammut reawakens and patricia becomes the first victim of her book.

the rest of the school falls, the endless storm rages.

(the gatehouse speech still happens, but only partially because kt barrels her way through the door while he’s still giving it.)

afer it’s all over, patricia’s off on her own during dinner while eddie and kt fill the others in on what happened that afternoon. she tries to ignore his arm slung over the back of the other girl’s chair.

kt does most of the talking while eddie sneaks glances to the other side of the table, watching patricia shovel pasta into her mouth at a rate faster than alfie. her face seems to have hardened over the past few weeks—gone are the mischevious glint in her eye and smirk on her lips—and now, she’s almost unrecognizable from the outspoken girl he met a year ago.

still, she’s safe. his chest swells with pride when he thinks about how she must have fought against team evil. only patricia.

he gets popcorn and sidles up to her during the fireworks. “you should be proud, you know.”

“of what,” she laughs hollowly. all the good she did was through following someone else’s orders, and even in that she failed.

eddie gestures around vaguely. “none of us would even be here if you didn’t lay the groundwork last year, and the year before. you think we’d have been able to outsmart the teachers without that?” 

patricia rolls her eyes, staying quiet until her gaze lands on kt. she nods in her direction. “go talk to her. you know you want to,” she tells eddie, raising an eyebrow and plastering a smile on her face.

“no, actually, I don’t,” he says. patricia frowns. he hesitates, then reaches down and squeezes her hand. “i’d rather stay right here.”

she nervously laces her fingers through his. it’s been months since she last did this, but they still feel like puzzle pieces put together. a perfect fit.

and suddenly he’s gently lifting her chin to look at him and she’s leaning in closer and closer and

they kiss right as the sky lights up blue and purple and orange.

“for the record,” he says, “im not sharing any of this popcorn with you.”

“yeah, right,” she laughs, and pulls him down toward her again.

Hey there, I’m Tulsa super nice to (kinda) meet y’all! I’m twenty-two and use she/her pronouns! I guess I’ll just start by giving some quick info about me and my roleplay history.

I’ve been roleplaying for 9 or 10 years??? (Omg I’m old). I started on Omegle, then moved to Instagram for a while and now I mainly use Discord and am recently trying to get used to Tumblr and Reddit since there’s a lot of active people. I’m an advanced literate writer, but I’m not too strict on length. I prefer anywhere from 3-5 paragraphs, but I understand the occasional short reply.

As for ~rules~ which are no fun, sorry, I don’t think I have too many?? Please don’t ask if I’ll do something not listed, I have very specific interests and I have a hard time saying no which results in ghosting and getting cursed out, soooo I’d prefer to avoid it if possible. Another thing that’s been known to deter partners is that I don’t double. I, and hopefully you as well, will play side characters when need be, but I prefer one roleplay with one main couple. Reply rate I would prefer something more rapid fire, but as long as we can get one reply a day that’s fine too :). I also have a writing sample of anyone would like to see it, just ask!

Or, I’m always down for good old teenage rebellion that takes place during season 2 or before the whole ‘possession of Billy’ thing happens.

Another way to go would be they rekindle a romance, Paige having no idea of their history, and then Peter giving her back her memories but they’ve been skewed to make Derek look like the bad guy.

alright i watched the whole third season of House of Anubis

I first have to say how much I enjoyed the leads: Eddie and KT. They have such a good chemistry and they’re honestly hilarious together. As I mentioned before, I did ship them together when I was younger and first watched the show but with watching it again, I would keep them as friends. Best friends. (especially since KT is hella gay I don’t care what anyone says) They totally give me Cloak and Dagger vibes, especially in terms of partnership. At the start of the show, they were alone, they had no one to confide in, no one to be with, Eddie was torn about letting Sibuna know about Nina, still not over Patricia. KT just lost her grandfather and came to England on a quest with some key and vague warnings, she was hella confused but still did so out of loyalty to her grandfather (this baby is too precious and good for this world, i swear). And next thing you know, fate and Osirian visions bring them together. They form a partnership, they snoop around the Gatehouse, they form a bond. And I love it so much. What I love especially, is that at the end, when the sinners are everywhere and even the Sibuna members are taken as sinners, it’s down to Eddie and KT, just like the beginning. Sure, they get help from Willow and Harriet, but they lose Willow pretty quickly, and right at the end, Harriet sacrifices herself so they can get the other key and lock away the evil for good. And together, Eddie and KT join the keys and lock the evil as one. They started together, and they ended it together, and I think that was really poetic. I know that the Osirian and the Chosen One are meant to be the pair and the Ying & Yang, but in this particular case, Eddie and KT were a bond formed by friendship and hardship rather than destinies planned or written in the stars by the gods, yes fate brought them together, but only because they knew they could only accomplish their tasks with each other. I especially loved when they took down Ammut, and Robert tried a last ditch attempt to get KT to feel guilty over doing this, telling her that he would die if Ammut was locked away. It brings in KT’s loyalty to her family, even when it’s bad, but then Eddie yells during the commotion, “Don’t trust him, trust me!” And I think it really brings a full circle what a great partnership and bond they have.

Other than that, it’s really just random stuff I liked

i liked that Willow could sense bad vibes that Robert had whenever he was around Anubis House, as well as sensing the bad vibes that sinner!Victor and sinner!Patricia gave off. I kinda wished they could’ve looked more into that. Like she was naturally sensitive to these things or something.

Her relationship with Alfie was a nice touch, seeing him with someone who liked the same things that he did was real cute. Especially seeing them happy.

Victor and Sweet playing that card game gave me life.

Joy’s new attitude and look were certainly appreciated

While I preferred the Jerome that developed in S2 and won Mara over (especially over the course of the first season and second, i mean talk about a slow burn done right) and rather he didn’t cheat on her and Willow, the Joy+Jerome ship wasn’t terrible. I much prefer the developed S2 Jerome, I’ve said this twice now, but again, it wasn’t terrible. (but real talk? KT and Joy should’ve happened)

Amber being the one to bring Sibuna and the pair Eddie & KT together because *Amber Millington voice* “Hello people! Isn’t it obvious? Work together.”

Like that girl knew what was up. Well, she did invent Sibuna, not surprised.

Alfie was perfection this season, leave him be. Also, highlights of him:

“Crypts are for dead people!” “I’m afraid of everything.” “Guys, go! Get out of here! Sibuna! SIBUNNAAA!!”

I already talked plenty of Eddie and KT being the best, so yeah. But imma do it again anyway.

I have a theory that Eddie focused his primary Osirian instinct of being protective over the Chosen One to being protective over KT. Like he reffocused his powers to someone else for the time being. Nina wasn’t there, and when KT showed up in his vision it was almost like the house was telling him “You need to help her now. Keep her safe.” And I really like that.

It was especially shone a lot through out the season, and the last episodes too. 

When sinner!Patricia and sinner!Fabian had KT and wanted to exchange an artifact that Eddie had discovered, she told him to run and get away, like they did when Alfie told them to leave him behind. And he says, “That was Alfie, this is you.”

And when Eddie, KT, Willow and Harriet went to get the sun key from Caroline, and she managed to take KT and Willow and turn them into sinners, Eddie says, “Not KT,” very worriedly. Later on he’s hard on himself, “I can’t believe they got to KT.”

It was interesting that half the season was awakening the man in the tank and the other half was releasing evil into the world. Like a different feel for half the season, not many shows do that.

I kinda despise the fact that the things I didn’t like are probably going to be longer.

Let’s go paragraph first so, how about that plot? First off, the whole thing is very weird for Sibuna. The first two seasons were about riddles and thinking things through. They were real mysteries. In this, it was more direct, they had an obvious problem, they had to stop the bad guys from waking up a bad guy, and then literal evil converted their own friends against each other. It sounds super interesting for a Vampire Diaries or Teen Wolf or even My Babysitter’s A Vampire plot line (or just one episode) since those shows were more active based. This season barely had any hidden things or riddles, and half of it had Sibuna paranoid and working against each other which I’m sure no one really loved. Not to mention that the action mainly happened at the Gatehouse rather than the actual Anubis House, the center for two of the last mysteries. Now I know, I know, the new season couldn’t just be a copy, and having a third mystery with hidden compartments over the house would certainly be a lot for Robert and Louisa. But I mean, didn’t Het Huis Anubis have four seasons? They couldn’t just do their version of that? I’m guessing that they did something different (I really hope so, because if not, this is embarrassing)

things i did not like at all about this season

the fact that they twisted Mara’s character up in their new ‘messed up girl obsessed with a boy’ like Joy in S2. just- why?

the fact that they undid a bunch of Jerome’s development.

or how about the fact that all Jerome got to do this season was be part of a love triangle cheat fest and then a love drama with Joy. In S1 he shoved himself into Sibuna and Rufus and it was bad for him, but he was involved. And S2, he was just amazing, they managed to connect his family and his family troubles with something that Sibuna would’ve needed for the Mask of Anubis: the Frobisher Gem. It all came together perfectly.

we didn’t get anything of Mr. Sweet telling Eddie about his Osirian thing or their family history.

The way they treated KT when they thought she was evil. It was so messed up, honestly, that poor baby. (though I did appreciate that the other residents noticed, like at breakfast when she sat down and no one looked at her, and he said, “Good morning, KT.” and he just noticed something was wrong. And then Joy and Mara noticed. I just really feel like that was the moment where Jerome and Joy coulda been more involved with Sibuna again- wait what am I saying)

No, when they and Patricia and Alfie were at the Gatehouse and they tried to warn them about the ceremony is when JOY AND JEROME SHOULDA GOTTEN INVOLVED IN SIBUNA AGAIN. Or like, at least be more aware, I mean come on?? Joy, you’re better than this. And Jerome, you’ve seen enough weird stuff to know when it’s Sibuna-related and usually that means deadly-related so you’re whole having two girlfriends thing can wait for a while.

Caroline Denby sucked. (And Caroline Forbes from TVD is a fan favorite of mine and not to mention that MY NAME IS CAROLINE so imagine that).

the fact that we got rid of the real Victor was kinda just wrong for me. I mean, Victor has always been a pain in the ass with the kids, and he’s usually wanted what they were after as well but he’d never resort to murder or anything like that, so when he got turned into a sinner and lost his friggin soul (yes, they said that, this is true) we truly lost Victor and I didn’t like that at all.

Season 1 was all about a mystery but also partly conspiracy, there was a moment between all five of Sibuna where they got proof and realistic statements after Joy lied to them (at the insistence of her dad) they were starting to think that the mystery wasn’t real and almost backed out of the search. Remember? Nina said, “You guys aren’t giving up on me, right?” Anyway, that was that. It was all about finding more information about what really happened and what’s really going on. About finding answers.

Season 2 was darker, it was a race against time because unlike the mystery of the first season, this one was more about saving themselves. Nina’s life and her friends and Gran would’ve died, it’s a great motivator to go through the tunnels. And there were moments where we see just how serious this is, there’s one shot where Nina is in a dream sequence in the house and all her friends are running away from her, terrified. And even when Victor sees her, he backs away in fear and hides himself in his office and then in the mirror it’s revealed Nina’s dressed and appears as Senkhara. And then when Senkhara freezes Vera, Victor knows it’s time to back away, he’s scared, he’s worried, so we see him do what he has to do to get Vera back. And when he’s playing the game? With Sibuna as his game pieces on the huge board? When Alfie disappeared, he backed out, he knew when to stop and almost considered calling Mr. Sweet to do something about it.

Meanwhile, Season 3 was all dark evil stuff, run for your life or your literal soul will be taken. It’s the end of the world if they awaken this sleeping dude, we need heroes to stop the bad team. Oh no, he’s awake, now he’s going to unleash hell and evil and it’s the end of the world, only now everyone’s converted to the evil and it’s real bad, we need heroes desperately. 

This season might’ve been more dark or good vs. evil type of thing but it just didn’t feel right for HOA. The show has always been subtle, it’s quiet and the kids solve the mystery and they do everything very hushed and private, this season sort of felt like WHOAH PIE IN YOUR FACE GUESS WHAT IM A SIBUNA what with turning the whole school into sinners, I just didn’t like the whole school being this active. but that’s me personally. 

Robert Frobisher-Smythe being the one in the tank is ridiculous considering wE SAW HIS FRIGGIN GHOST AT THE END OF S1. And honestly, bringing him in and saying that he’s going to bring forth a darkness to make people evil and bring the apocalypse is just a really bland plot. It’s no mystery, it’s legit good guys vs. a villain. It’s a ‘save the world’ plot, yeah like we’ve never seen that before.

We love the mystery, where was it? oh right, nowhere.

When the four descendants of Robert’s expedition party were revealed: Patricia, Joy, Alfie and Jerome, there could have so much content.

The four of them speaking in unison while they sleep should’ve been used more.

Remember the childhood lullabies they were supposed to use to find a random artifact? Those lullabies were riddles and other than that cylinder that KT opened using her synesthesia, it was the only thing that made it feel like good old days of House of Anubis.

again, seeing the three OG Sibuna gang members evil and not on Sibuna kept killing me.

like oh no! everyone’s gone insane, we gotta shut this thing down before it devours more souls. TWO HOURS LATER and now it’s time to enjoy fireworks and Fabian and Mara and flirting and its so unnecessary, whyy??

Leave Mara with Jerome (in which he didnt cheat) and Willow is happy with Alfie and KT and Joy are out there being gay as hell. Those are the ships that shoulda happened.

Honestly, when I think back at S2 and Amber and Nina are there, it just brings back such good vibes. S2 really is the best season, but I stand by my love for Eddie and KT. Friendship goals AF. Like I said before, the third season was in your face, it was loud and it was telling everyone ‘end of the world’ and when you think about it, it’s perfect for the characters they introduced. S1 and S2 fit so well for Nina, because she’s like that, she’s quiet yet badass and is about riddles and mysteries. Meanwhile, Eddie is loud and wants to get this over with, LET’S BREAK INTO OUR TEACHER’S HOUSE BECAUSE I HAVE A HUNCH. YOU WANNA SEE THE SLEEPING MAN’S FACE, FABIAN? LET’S REMOVE THE GLASS. LET’S STEAL THE TANK WITH THE SLEEPING MAN IN BROAD DAYLIGHT.  LET ME JUST BARGE INTO VICTOR’S OFFICE TO TAKE YOUR KEY BACK, KT. LET’S DO WHATEVER IMPORTANT TASK OR MISSION WE NEED HAVE TONIGHT. LET ME BANG AGAINST PIPES AND BRICKS REALLY LOUDLY. And let me tell you, it just makes me laugh how into it he gets, like “why not?” it’s just so funny for some reason. Anyway, I think they decided to make this season fit what they wanted Eddie to be and that’s what they did. I loved Eddie’s performance, I loved him so much, I loved KT more. But I just didn’t love this season.

FORMAT;; Since these are characters that we’re playing, I’d prefer us both to use third person POV. I get very invested in my characters, but find it a bit uncomfortable when I, or my partner, is using ‘I’, it makes it too personal for me. As for doubling, that’s something I don’t do, and I know that’s usually a turn-off. I just feel it’s easier, and more fun to focus on one story/couple. I will play side characters if we need/like, but I only do one thread. I hope that makes sense lol

LENGTH;; As I tend to write stories in my free time, I do prefer longer replies. My starters will usually be anywhere from 3-5 paragraphs, and my replies at least 2, usually more depending on the scene and how much my partner is giving me. I’m not too strict about this, but I do like details, so if you’re a one-line roleplayer, we are not a good fit. LIMITS;; I prefer my plots to be about 70/30 when it comes to story/smut. Limits and things of that nature can be discussed in private if need be!

PLOTTING;; As long as we’re both putting forth effort into the plot, I’m down. It’s just hard to come up with a plot by yourself, especially because you don’t know if the other person will like it. Also, if we start a plot and you find yourself bored and/or would like to try something else, don’t hesitate to ask! This whole ad makes me sound so serious, but I swear I’m just a smol girl.

REPLY RATE;; Since I am a college student, my replies may be a bit scattered. Due to Covid, I’m available almost all day everyday so I’d love someone who’s able to do quick, but also literate replies! Diary of a Junebug

A cozy reading nook

There’s nothing like going to a thrift shop and striking gold. In today’s case, it was at the books section. Murphy and I have been spending the past few days putting together a cozy reading nook with our new gyroid themed furniture. Since the shelves were looking a bit sparse, we headed off to several thrift shops to fill them up.

Going to a thrift shop is like picking and choosing stuff from a mystery goodie bag. Sometimes you find stuff and sometimes you don’t - it’s all about chance. My mom always said whenever we went shopping at a thrift store is that if we find something we like, buy it. First of all, it’s fairly cheap, and second, you’re never going to see it again. So I base my purchases off absolutes - do I really want/need it or not? Even if I’m not gonna need it right away but might in the future, then that counts as a yes.

Today we went shopping at a cute little corner shop in Blueberry. I’ve only been there a few times since it’s kinda hard to get there but whenever I stopped by, I almost always find a treasure. And today, we stumbled across a treasure chest!

Among the many books we found today, there was one that caught my eye in particular. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t a coincidence that I would stumble upon this find after hearing the news a couple days ago.

The book in question is called Climb Every Mountain by Claire Bennett. It’s one of those books that I read years ago and it stuck with me. A fairly quick read, but one that lingers for a while. I think the fact that I’ve crossed paths with Claire in the past is why I’ve been so invested in the story.

I wonder how she’s doing right now.

Climb Every Mountain’s a work of fiction loosely based on Claire’s own life - or, in retrospect, a somewhat idealized version of it. An alternate universe where despite everything that happened, there’s still a glimmer of hope that it gets better. Not that Claire’s life was terrible, but more like for every good thing that happened, it gets overshadowed by the not so good things happening behind the scenes. 

I met Claire when I was living in Astra, back when she was married to Matt. She, Nathan, and I would often hang out at the Study Library Cafe so that’s how we became friends. After Claire finished grad school we kinda lost touch with her, at least until we found each other on social media a few years ago. So even though we don’t talk often, at least we hear bits and pieces here and there.

Nathan, Claire, and Matt went to the same high school - Claire and Matt being a couple years older - so that’s how they know each other. Astra’s a medium sized town so even if you don’t know everyone, you’ve at least heard of most of them. 

Claire wasn’t exactly in the popular crowd, but she was notable for being well accomplished. Straight A, type A perfectionist who’s captain of the cheerleading squad and debate team as well as class president who graduated as valedictorian - she was what they described as untouchable. Despite how she might look, Claire is not superficial or shallow or cutthroat - she’s just ambitious. No one dared messed with her or got in her way.

Then there’s Matt, who was also notable but not exactly popular either. He came from a rich family who was notable in Astra and he made sure people knew that. Orphaned as a baby he lived with his dad’s advisor who tried to manipulate him so when he got older Matt kicked her out and was informally adopted by a friend who helped bailed him out when his former guardian tried to get revenge. 

At first glance Matt comes across as arrogant, narcissistic, and not so bright. Part of his arrogance comes from being entitled, though it’s more of a defense mechanism to protect himself from those who tried to use him. The saying still waters run deep applies to him. 

Even after everything he put Claire through, I can’t help but feel bad for him sometimes. Don’t get me wrong - it doesn’t excuse his actions, but at least it wasn’t done out of pure malice. Matt has a lot of flaws but the biggest one of all is his tendency towards self-sabotage.

Because their personalities are so different, you’d think people like Matt and Claire would clash. To everyone’s surprise, they were close friends turned high school sweethearts. In a way, they complimented each other. But they also dragged each other down - Claire bringing out the best in him, Matt bringing out the worst in her. 

No matter what, Claire still sees the good in him. I don’t think Matt is a bad guy, but he’s definitely not good for her. I get that Claire has a special bond with him - and probably the best thing to ever happen to him second to his adoptive family - so it’s understandable why she’s so forgiving of him. She was in a tough spot as she could no longer tolerate his bullshit and at the same time couldn’t just cut him off like pretty much everyone else in his life.

Claire wrote and published Climb Every Mountain during her senior year of high school. At the time she was standing at a crossroads. She had two equally great scholarships - one for any Ivy League university, another close to home. There were also a lot of other factors she had to consider and in the end she chose to stay home and marry Matt.

Climb Every Mountain is a historical fiction novel set in the 60s that tells the story of a bookish teenage girl who grows up alongside her childhood friend, a rebellious orphan of a wealthy family. Despite their differences, both feel like they don’t belong because of how much they stand out. The precocious Malina is told to stay in her place and downplay her inquisitive nature while KT’s the kind of guy who refuses to give a damn about anything. 

The story starts when Malina and KT are fourteen and spans about five years. Malina’s busy trying to figure out the world while KT does whatever he wants, including trying to win over Malina’s heart. As they grow older, they become closer and later get married despite disapproval from pretty much everyone. The two go through a lot of ups and downs as they realize that the world is a lot more complicated and contradicting than they realize. 

The end is somewhat ambiguous but also hopeful. Malina defies her family’s expectations by speaking her mind through leading anti-war protests. KT casts away his family’s status and threw everything out of the window by dodging the draft. They were able to get away with being arrested and released because of KT’s status and now that no longer mattered, the young couple had no choice but to flee the country. So Malina stages one final protest, basically giving the government a big middle finger, and in the chaos, she and KT escape. 

As they snuck away, both fought the temptation to look back. Through thick and thin, Malina and KT stuck together. Even when starting from the ground up, as long as they had each other, it’ll be all right. No matter what happens, the only thing that’s certain is that they had no regrets.

Something about Malina’s courage and determination always stuck to me. Her and KT’s loyalty to others was something that didn’t really resonate with me until I got older. Knowing the inspiration behind Malina and KT, their story digs a lot deeper.

I’d like to think Malina and KT eventually had a happy ending. After escaping the country and starting over, after everything they’ve been through, they deserve to be happy. I think that’s what Claire wanted for them too. And for herself especially.

Like with Malina and KT, there’s more to Claire and Matt’s relationship than meets the eye. I wouldn’t say that Claire was unhappy with Matt, but sometimes things don’t work out no matter how hard you try. 

I don’t want to say that Matt is needy - probably high maintenance is a better word - the kind of person who expects everything and nothing less. From experience, those kinds of people can be exhausting to be around, even if they are generally pretty cool. Matt definitely fits into that category. Always venting his problems to someone - usually Claire - and expecting an immediate response, not caring how you feel or whether or not you’re in the mind space to help out or listen. It’s hard to trust someone or confide in them if they don’t respect your boundaries, especially if they almost always make it about them in the end. And to be honest, I think Matt’s the kind of guy who likes to talk just so you’d pay attention to him.

Claire and Matt were married for about eight years before splitting up. By the time Nathan and I met her, their marriage was starting to become shaky with Matt cheating on her and making enemies with a lot of people. I guess what prompted Claire to file for divorce had something to do with their kids - Katie and Brittany - as that was one major factor that prevented the two from breaking up. 

After the divorce, Claire took the girls and left Astra. Matt left too not long after that. He still kept in touch because of the girls so at least he isn’t cut off completely. Claire became a journalist for the Inkwell Gazette so every once in a while I’d come across her articles. She hasn’t released another book since Climb Every Mountain, which is a shame since she’s a good writer. Given what she’s been through, I don’t really blame her though.

While she has always been successful, I don’t think Claire really flourished until she left Matt. I can’t imagine it being easy to make a name for yourself if you’re almost always associated with an heir who’s notable for being troubled. It wasn’t that Matt stifled her - he did the opposite in fact, sometimes to the point where he put her on a pedestal - it was more like Claire can do whatever she wants as long as she puts Matt’s needs over hers. Basically Claire’s a giver, Matt’s a taker.

As for Matt, he’s remained a mystery until a while ago. He pretty much spent the past few years couch hopping, partying, stirring up trouble, and having flings. Then a couple months ago he was driving under the influence - which he’s gotten in trouble for several times - and ended up killing someone in an accident. So he fled the scene and managed to lay low for a while before turning himself in.

There’s definitely more to the story and while a part of me wants to dig deeper, I don’t know if that’s a good idea. Also, I doubt there’d be much to find out anyway since this is the kind of thing Matt’s people would want to keep quiet because of scandals and such. At least from what it sounds like, Matt came forward voluntarily so maybe there’s a silver lining. Knowing him though, he’ll probably get a light sentence and then the whole thing will be buried away like it never happened. Then again, Matt’s not a total asshole so maybe this incident will shake him up and teach him a lesson.

I have a feeling that I’m gonna be re-reading Climb Every Mountain a few more times in the near future. It’s definitely one of those books worth revisiting years later.
