Finally, afther three years I can finally post my piece for the @dropsofmoonlightzine !

This was a... Learning... Journey... Yeh.

Working on this piece was a challenge at the time. I was just switching programs so I had to pass all my progress from one format to another, learn how to translate certain things, and all that in a tight deadline.

I guess this was around the time I discovered I love to do background and sparkles.

It's a little old, and I can see proportions and perspective things that I would do different nowadays. But still, I'm happy my work got published in paper next to some many other great artists, like @sailorgigiart that is in the next page.

quite old art, but these are my redesigns slash reimaginings of the parallel sailor moon team. first image is kousagi, sailor earth. i felt like it made more sense for her to be mamoru's successor. second image is sailor bacchus, one of ami and mako's adopted kids. same for the third image, sailor apollo. fourth image is sailor vulcan, naru and umino's kid. and the last image is kousagi's cousin, shingo's daughter. will redraw one day!

A very rough sketch of an idea that I have for Kousagi. I imagined her to be a wanderer, not really tied to power. Her favorite places to wander are the abandoned ruins of Elysian, it beckons her constantly but she never really questions why...

I'm sorry, I GENUINELY thought she was someone's OC who got famous online! Meet Kousagi Tsukino, everybody! You're probably thinking, 'Who the F is Kousagi?!' Let me help with that! There's a Sailor Moon side story called, Parallel Moon that takes place in an alternate universe in the future where there's no Crystal Tokyo, but Usagi and Mamoru give birth to a second child named, Kousagi. The other sailor guardians give birth to their own children too who look EXACTLY like them! Chibiusa would often have to watch over her little sister, but Kousagi isn't really liked by the sailor guardians' daughters who she calls her friends. She even gets a pink cat companion (who is related to Diana, I believe) and has her own transformation. She's so adorable! Also, Usagi? Why do you keep naming your children after you? First Chibiusa, now Kousagi!

Drawtober(vember) day 30 Kousagi

And here we have probably the most obscure member of my series. Kousagi is Chibiusa's little sister from an alternate timeline where NeoTokyo isn't established until after all our guardians grow up and have kids. Kousagi is younger than the daughters of the other inner soldiers and they are kind of annoyed with her until she is discovered by this mysterious nameless pink cat and transforms into Sailor Moon. The manga isn't entirely sure if their whole sailor adventure was a collective dream or not, but I'd like to see more from this au, especially Chibiusa as an older sister. If it ever gets revived I hope they flex a bit on the other inner daughters bc in the comic they're just a little too much like clones of their mothers.

Sailor Parallel Moon

I decided it’ll be fun to try to redraw my first Sailor Parallel Moon drawing, since it’s been over a year already! It’s crazy to think that she’s become my blorbo for a year now.

I tweaked her design a bit. I wanted more pastel pink and yellow/gold tones. I felt the original pink I used for her suit was too harsh.

I think pink and yellow is the best for her in my head cannon, since I figured that — while Small Lady would be the heir to the moon, the Earth may still need a princess/ruler. So maybe Ko can have the “Rose Gold Crystal” or something similar. So pink and gold is her color palette :]

Then her having a rose gold crystal would be the fun exciting twist in her story. I can’t decide on rose gold or rose quartz tho.

Everything Sailor Moon is a comfort for me. I always fall back on it when I need to try to cheer myself up or relax. It’s been so fun to draw Kousagi over and over and imagine her personality/adventures. Love her so much.
