Don't be fooled by their whimsical hairstyles! The Dandie Dintmont Terrier was raised to hunt badgers and otters in Scotland in the 1600s! These tough little dogs were named after a character in Sir Walter Scott's novel "Guy Mannering" in which the character Dandie Dintmont was based on the breed's originator. The fluff of hair on top of their heads is called a "topknot" and should be distinct and fluffy in show dogs.

How do I feel about this character

I mean, I shouldn't pick favorites out of my own characters but I'll admit Trace is a bit precious to me. He was definitely one of my favorites of the cast while I wrote the book.

Who do I ship romantically with them

Trace doesn't have a canon romance. He's given himself to the church and is mostly married to books. He loves books a lot.

Non-romantic OTP

Trace and Paige are a duo throughout the book for a very good reason. I'm a sucker for mentor/mentee pairs. Especially ones that become each other's family. Trace and Paige don't start out that way, but over the course of the adventure they learn to appreciate each other and will die for each other by the end. Love that.

Unpopular headcanon

Am I allowed to have a headcanon as the author? Can a thing be unpopular when no one knows about it? lol. It's probably unpopular that I'm content to let him be single. I mean never say never. The sequel is gonna come out at some point (its my 2025 resolution to write the first draft. For real this time) so who knows what will happen after that.

something I wish happened in canon

I wish I'd already written the draft. I've had the outline (multiple outlines) written for years and years but i've been too nervous to actually write it out. Sunk cost fallacy maybe. Mostsly it's a fear of doing it poorly.

I don't know if you realize just how deeply stacked into my wheelhouse this request actually is, cell. Good Dad (tm) Optimus Prime and Team Little Brother Bumblebee was engraved on my DNA long long ago.

Psychonauts art prompt idea: I suddenly thought about Nona Aquato kicking everyone's asses at Gruloky. Like, post-Psychonauts 2, the dust has settled, maybe she and Ford are hosting a couples card night with Sasha and Milla and/or Bob and Helmut and/or others? I dunno why I thought of this, but I think it might be cute. ^_^

The olds invite their kids to a card party. In my head, this is dry run to see if everyone will get along during Thanksgiving dinner this year.

Sasha and Milla don't know how to play Gruloky.
