Biana Vacker ran away from home with her brother when she was fifteen. She stumbled, recklessly, onto a pirate ship leaving the port that night. She was pulled into the family on the ship like she'd always belonged there.

Tam Song ran away from home with his cursed sister when he was thirteen. He threw himself at the mercy of a pirate queen whose own son sought to destroy her. And when the regime of the Neverseen was overthrown, and Keefe captained his own ship, there was only one thing left to do.

Piracy.

The question is, would the new crew of the Neverseen ever find a way to best their adversaries, the greatest pirate ship on the sea, the Black Swan?

okay y'all, i've never actually done something like this but i decided on a whim the other day to start a sewing project, and i'm gonna do my best to document it here just for my own enjoyment lol!

the goal is basically to take this jacket (pictured below) that I bought on amazon for a kotlc halloween costume a few years ago and spruce it up a bit

the current plans are to:

reinforce the bottom edge of the skirt part so it has a little more structure

replace the buttons with ones that a) look nicer and b) are more durable (right now they're plastic and also have this crown/crest design that almost feels like it belongs on a flag or something??? idk I just don't like them very much and wanna have different ones)

maybe do some embroidery on the bottom edge of the skirt (and potentially other areas as well)??? i haven't fully decided yet but leaning towards yes if I can manage to teach myself embroidery before my interest in this project disappears lol

(i might also do something with the zipper pull, i can't really decide if i fully like it as is but that's a thing for future me to worry about haha)

but yeah i think the vision is mostly just fun jacket with vaguely steampunk-space-pirate vibes (à la the mechs lol) so we'll see what happens!

KOTLC Pirate AU, Part 2

Sophie grew up an orphan on the streets

She got some of her food from a merchnats daughter named Amy but otherwise pickpocketed and stole from people at the docks

One day she stole from the wrong person and ended up kidnapped by pirates. The Black Swan's crew to be exact

They took pity on her and she got raised by them to become a pirate

She wasn't the only kid on the ship though

Dex and his three younger triplet siblings were all the children of the crews main navigator Juline Dizznee

They're parents used the ship sometimes as a cargo ship to bring their dad's concoctions across the sea

The kids spent ocasional time on land with their dad if he decided to set up shop in a city for an extended period of time but most of their lives they grew up on sea

Another child of the crew was Stina who her dad really did not want to be their

But her mom had gone missing a few months before Sophie arrived and not wanting to leave his daughter orphaned brought her along with him on the Black Swan

Their was also Jensi who was the much younger brother of Fernan or Blur as many members of the crew jokingly call him

Both their parents were killed when they were young and Fernan took up pirating

By the time thay were all 14 they'd realised (Plot Twist) being raised on a ship full of Pirates wasn't very good for a child

Especially when few people outside of your family actually care about your well-being

They managed to form a plot to get out of the crew by running away and getting their own boat, possibly work as traders

It took a while(A whole year actually) but they managed to make a deal with a tradesman's daughter named Marella that if she got them the boat they would let her on their crew

On the day of their escape they said goodbye to their family's who "Accidentally" let them out of their sights and booked it for the ship

By the time the Black Swan's crew noticed the children with very important information on how their pirateing buisness went about it was too late, they'd long disapeared into the horizon

They didn't go under deck until sunset when they were sure that they were far enough away from the Black Swan

Throughout the day they had argued over what the ship should be called and on their way down teh stairs Sophie finally knew what it should be: The Moonlark

And their luck just kept getting better because when they got below deck they found six stow aways

Six stow aways with very wealthy parents who would make amazing hostanges

KOTLC Favorite ice creams flavors!

Sophie-Rocky Road, I feel like Sophie was a sucker for chocolate and Rocky Road gives me Mallowmelt vibes, with it having marshmellows.

Fitz-Mint Chip, I think he'd like the fresh minty flavor and would hunt for the choclate chips like pirates digging for treasure with Biana (and Alvar before shit went down)

Keefe- Cookie's n Cream, seems like a guy with a huge sweet tooth

Biana- Green Tea, I feel like she'd want a nice calm earthy flavor to soothe her after all the shit going on

Tam- Chocolate, I feel like he'd have a basic ice cream flavor since it doesn't really matter that much too him.

Linh - Salted Caramel, especially sea salt, This girl also has a massive sweet tooth and indulges on any sweet food since that was her and Tam had least access to in Exilllium.

Marella- Mango Sorbet/Ice cream I feel like she'd like Sorbet more honestly but for the sake of the title, Ice cream. Its fruity, tropical and sunny, all stuff Marella would seem into (I was tempted to put Vanilla Ice cream for her but decided thats too basic for her.)

Maruca- Butter Pecan, she seems like a girl who'd like nuts (Pun unintended) Especially Pecans. I also imagine her family served something like Pecan Pie at holidays and had a secret family recipe of theirs.

Mr. Forkle...-dirt

Umber- Toffee, likes sweet syrupy tastes like Toffee,. No need for spoons since she has shadowflux! She also likes to let it melt a little so she can drink it like a soup.

Trix- Pumpkin pie, Im getting lazy atp so yeah. (wrote this after the rest of them but wanted umber and trix to be next to eachother)

Fintan- Vanilla, if his fossilized ass is even aware of icecream, this dude is every bit basic and if he does know about icecream, he probably has nostalgia of collecting snow and shredding fruits on it from the 3rd century

Gisela- Coffee, she wouldn't have much of a sweet tooth in my mind honestly

Alvar- Pistachio, preferably with chocolate chips. Much like Fitz...Erm he judges people and shops on how good their Pistachio Ice cream is since he a connoisseur on this flavor. Will down a whole tub of this actually.

Ruy- Strawberry, he's not much into icecream so anything will do but he does a small preference for Strawberry since its nice and refreshing adn he likes fruits with a tang.

Kotlc characters as random things in my room (a saga) Part One

Dex (normal): 12 months of a science subscription kit loving done by my clumsy adolescent hands shoved in the back of my closet

Dex (unhinged): a lamp but there's a wig on it and the wig has paper brain hat and a crown and a happy birthday headband and a party hat and also there's a face and two pairs of sunglasses oh and a plastic earing that's just. there

Sophie (normal): big pile of stuffed animals that are chilling in my corner

Sophie (unhinged): 3'5 wooden sword (trust me it hurts)

Keefe (normal) things all over the walls: my paintings and drawings, notes, and things that I got while traveling

Keefe (unhinged): art stuff EVERYWHERE, there are two pairs of half painted shoes, about 10 unfinished paintings, piles of sketchbooks/notebooks (some are only for certain story ideas those are special I swear), good golly pencils and crap are everywhere

Biana (normal): I have a little thingy where I get to hang all my necklaces

Biana (unhinged): ooo cute decorative thing but of wait is that two bandanas? oh there's a cowboy hat that makes more sense- oh wait no there's also a pirate hat
