Time Travel Question 34: Medievalish and Earlier 3
These Questions are the result of suggestions from the previous iteration.
This category may include suggestions made too late to fall into the correct earlier time grouping. Basically, I'd already moved on to human history, but I'd periodically get a pre-homin suggestion, hence the occasional random item waaay out of it's time period, rather than reopen the category.
In some cases a culture lasted a really long time and I grouped them by whether it was likely the later or earlier grouping made the most sense with the information I had. (Invention ofs tend to fall in an earlier grouping if it's still open. Ones that imply height of or just before something tend to get grouped later, but not always. Sometimes I'll split two different things from the same culture into different polls because they involve separate research goals or the like).
Please add new suggestions below if you have them for future consideration. All cultures and time periods welcome.

To anyone who don’t know Jesus. I love you, and Jesus loves you so much. More than you can ever imagine. His love goes beyond fear, circumstances, past experiences, pain, suffering, anger, and insecurities. His love for you is Him on the cross, suffering and bleeding out, blood and guts exposed- just for you. His love for you is Him giving you shelter, food, clothes, family, friends, transportation and entertainment. His love sets you free from anxiety, depression, fear, anger, bitterness, and hopelessness. His love gives joy, peace, healing, restoration, strength, courage, hope, purpose, meaning, and life. He loves you so much! No matter what you’ve done, who you are, and how others or yourself view yourself- God sees you as fearfully and wonderfully made, a child of Him, and forgiven if you turn to Him. His love for you is so great that He forgets all the wrong we commit and gives us grace and mercy when we follow Him! If you haven’t asked Jesus to come into your life, I dare you too. I promise He will absolutely transform you from the inside out if you give Him a chance. The worst that could happen is nothing! Just you feeling better and waiting on Him to reveal just how much He cares about you and loves you. If you seek Him, you will find Him. If any of you have prayer requests or any questions. Feel free to reach out 🙏🏼 Love you all!

It’s Fine Press Friday!
This week, in honor of Ramadan, we’re taking a peek at a 1958 Limited Editions Club (LEC) publication of The Koran: Selected Suras from our collection. This modern, handsomely bound and illustrated collection of texts from the Qu‘ran was translated into English by Australian American scholar of Asian studies Arthur Jeffery (1892-1959), and features decorations in grayed blue and red ink from Italian American printmaker, illustrator, and author Valenti Angelo (1897-1982). The title page and the page opposite the opening sura were also hand-illuminated in gold by Angelo. The text, which features Bembo type and Civilité headings, is printed in black ink on custom made tan Arak paper from Curtis Paper Company, a paper mill in Newark, Delaware known for its manufacture of high-quality rag papers using 19th-century Fourdrinier machinery. The work was printed by Abraham Colish (1882–1963, otherwise known as A. Colish) and bound in cloth covered boards which were hand stamped with decorations in blue, red, and gold. It was released in an edition of 1500 copies, all of which were signed by the illustrator.

There are many different ways to translate a text. There is no one correct way. You should pick a translation that prioritises what’s important to you.
Just don’t confuse it for the one true inerrant word of your god.

Repost @baytal.fann
"In the Holy Qur’an a chapter is dedicated to the bee, called An-Nahl. This literally translates to ‘The Bee’ & it describes the bee’s way of life, & how Muslims should be more like them.
For World Bee Day we are celebrating the bee in Islam 🐝
Al Nahl, Chapter 16, 68-69, talks about a variety of topics, but Allah specifically chose the title The Bee to catch the attention of the readers. Bees are said to be Allah’s miracles; the way they function and how they behave, are to be held as an example.
The significance of Al Nahl as Chapter 16 is important. The only verse in this chapter that mentions bees is made up of 16 words & 16 different Arabic letters. Coincidentally, female bees have 16 pairs of chromosomes, whereas males have 16 chromosomes.
What is fascinating about the bees in the Qur’an is that it was written from a scientific standpoint where the colony, roles, and practices of bees are observed. These characteristics & traits were used as a figure of speech for the follower reading the Qur’an.
A reason why an entire chapter in the Qur’an has been devoted to the bee is that Allah has enabled the honey bee to produce a substance within which there is a cure for all mankind. Honey!
Bees live less than 40 days, visit at least 1000 flowers & produces less than a teaspoon of honey. For us it is only a teaspoon of honey, but for the bee it is a lifetime of work.
Thank You Bees!
Beautiful art by @lucythomasinmorrish please do check out her incredible paintings."

@endcelebrationofignorance Your thoughts on this, I’ve been hearing more and more of this Jwhish Talmud. These folks have been controlling the narrative for so long. I know you say religion is man made and order to enslave people. Especially now if you say anything against them it’s” antisemitism”. Pretty interesting what they think of Jesus that they have everyone worshiping.
