to report you. Story time.

I work at Publix. All of us who work in customer service - unless we have a medical reason, have to do parking lot duty, where we bring carts in. I see a woman going around talking to people. Okay, sometimes customers chat with each other, not too weird. But as this point I do have a decent suspicion that she's selling something.

When she finished talking to one person, intentionally ignored me (I was in work uniform) and went to talk to another person, I was about 70% sure, but I was really afraid of reporting someone who wasn't doing anything wrong, so I hesitated. I hung out in our foyer/vestibule where they were talking to listen in, and so she got the ladies phone number and Instagram, and talked about something about starting a business, but that's about all I picked up.

Just to make sure, I went over and talked to her myself. Pretended to be interested, said hey, whats this about starting a business? And when she said she wanted to talk to me specifically outside, when she just talked to someone else inside... it was pretty much confirmed at that point.

So I said I was a business major in college and wanted to start my own funeral home today, whats this about starting a business? And she, realizing she'd be caught at this point, high key fessed up and said she was with a thing she was paying 977 dollars a month for this business mentor and had to recuit 70 other people as part of the program.

It wasn't JUST soliciting. It was a multi level marketing scheme.

I told her I couldn't afford that much right now, but thank you anyway. She wished me success in the future. And this is something I can really respect her for, I know she knew I was about to get her thrown off the property, she fessed up and she wasn't rude at all. She was really polite.

She's was a very kind and well intended lady. But I had to do what I had to do. Got our MIC, told them what was happening, and then hid in our head managers office until they dealt with it.

I was afraid to go back on the lot after that. And even now, sitting here at dinner I keep worrying I'm going to look up and see her. She really was a nice lady, it's a huge shame she got caught up in an MLM. I hope and pray she gets out of it.

If you ever get a thing where you have to pay a ton of money and get other people to join, or you have to sell products to other people and recruit them to do it, too, its an MLM folks. They will prey on and take advantage of you.

Please don't solicit in a stores parking lot. It affects us employees. Because if you're mean, we're scared you'll come after us to get us later. And even if you're nice and fess up, we'll still be afraid to cross paths with you in the future.

Get my brain back on track, because I'm here writing the plot of the Metal Mortician fic, when I haven't even finished the first draft of the Exile Fic. In fact, I dumped the whole thing out because I just plain hated it. Literally don't have but one sentence, which is Phoenix's finishing line on Hawks, written for the Exile Fic. God help me 😭😭

And the worst part is a major part of the Metal Mortician fic is Layton facing his trauma FROM THE EXILE FIC.

Saw that ending scene in Megan is Missing where it shows Megan's body -

And the only realistic thing about this body, ESPECIALLY since it had canonically been weeks since she died, is the fact that her mouth is open. Everything else makes me question if the designer had did any research on dead bodies, body decomposition, the post mortem process, ANYTHING before they made that prop or did that makeup 😭😭

Like, its supposed to be all disturbing, oooooooh, but knowing what I know from forensics class - and having seen actual dead bodies, the only real thought I have is that that scene is dumb 😭😭

I didn't like either of them. With Kamala, it really felt like she was trying to appeal more to emotion. I won't say she didn't have any facts, because she did. But still, I don't want to feel like I'm being manipulated.

Trump? Good God. If we were lucky, he'd maybeeeee sorta answer the question...before immediately switching the topic to immigration. This is why I've heard legitimate Republican family of mine say they'll vote for him because they don't want the Democratic party in office, but they don't like hearing him talk. Which, honestly, after watching that? Valid, honestly.
