The Sirius Dog Sled Patrol is the only military dog sled patrol in the world, operating in northeastern Greenland. This elite Danish naval unit conducts long-range reconnaissance and enforces Danish sovereignty over vast Arctic territories, including the Northeast Greenland National Park, which is the largest national park globally.

Established in 1950, the patrol originally emerged during World War II to monitor German activities in Greenland. Its mission has evolved to include environmental monitoring and supporting scientific research, alongside traditional military duties. The patrol consists of six teams, each with two soldiers and 11 to 15 sled dogs, patrolling remote areas for up to six months at a time without human contact.
