#konohamaru: you are not immune

Did you notice this?
Sasuke, Mitsuki, Shikamaru, Shikadai, Chocho, Inojin, Ino, Amado, Sai, Konohamaru
It seem as if all of these characters were shown in these panels to (presumably) symbolize all the characters close to Boruto (that are in the Manga at least) have been Affected by Eida's Mind Altercation
However...
Did you also notice there are some characters missing from these panels?
Naruto and Hinata got excluded for obvious reasons but there are 3 other important characters who close to Boruto who were noticeably missing from those 2 panels above
So we already know Sarada is confirmed immune to Eida's mind altercation
Sumire most likely is too given her previously established immunity to Eida's Charm
The biggest mystery here is Himawari. She's the only Major character who didn't appear at this chapter.
And I don't doubt it was intentionally so to keep people guessing on whether she got affected or not.
So what do you think? Could Himawari possibly be immune to the mind altercation?
A lot of people have been speculating and I have seen two camps for this:
On one hand, due to the "Intensity" Daemon sensed within her a little while ago it could've been a little foreshadowing that Himawari could be impervious to Eida's and Daemon's powers
And given how OP Daemon is, Boruto is gonna need all the help he can get. Sarada and Sumire can likely stop Eida but they likely aren't going to be enough to stop that Boy. (And the fact that Hima is the only person who has so far who has made Daemon feel somewhat uneasy makes me think she's the key to stopping him)
On the other hand, Himawari turning against Boruto while being under the belief that Kawaki is her actual Flesh and Blood Brother would send Boruto into complete despair as a part of him "Losing Everything "
The fact that Himawari is still completely out of the loop on what actually happened to her parents (and who did it) could support this side
I don't know if I could take Himawari going full-on Sasuke and trying to get revenge on Boruto for "Killing" her parents.... (Yes a lot of people are actually speculating on that happening) but sadly it's not impossible
I could see Himawari being immune. Whatever the criteria is for breaking Eida's mind control, it doesn't seem to be genetic, because otherwise Sasuke and the entire Hyuuga clan would also be immune. Himawari's mysterious "intensity" seems as good of a reason to have immunity as Sarada's sharingan or Sumire's summon Nue.
Actually, I'm not sure Sarada's Uchiha heritage is what's protecting her. It might make more sense that Sakura's strength of a hundred seal affected her in the womb, since it's supposed to be similar to karma. Sakura's not in the panel, so it's unclear whether she and Tsunade would also have resistance or not.

12, 16 and 22 for naruto n sasuke ^_^! (also if u feel like it can u explain why u don't like deidara? id love to hear it 👀)
this ask game
HAHAHAHAAA okay i’ll explain the deidara thing first. at first i was just annoyed by him but as time went on and he kept showing up i grew to dislike him more... when he got reanimated after i thought he was dead for good that’s when the true hater in me took over LOL literally the reasons i hate him aren’t even deep LOL he just kept showing up which fuelled my anger ajshsksj okay so the reasons i hate him is because he’s annoying to me first and foremost, all his quips and ramblings are dreadful and i think he’s incredibly childish, his fights are all boring to me and are so genuinely a drag to get through (all he does is stand on his bird and monologue for 5 minutes before blowing something up….. IT IS NOT FUN TO WATCH, EVEN THE EXPLOSIONS ARE BORING), and i’m tired of seeing this guy. yeah that’s it. nothing truly deep he just annoyed me and then kept coming back and coming back and coming back….. i got too annoyed by it aksgsjsgjssh
naruto
12. sexuality hc?
gay, although i enjoy bisexual headcanons. i’m not very passionate about him having to be gay, it can go either way. i just genuinely think (outside of his “crush” on sakura… but lets be real what did he actually like about her) he doesn’t show any interest in women… like he’s never interested in peeping on them with jiraiya or konohamaru, he fully tells jiraiya that he doesn’t have to be worried about falling for a woman cause “that doesn’t apply to him” and he “doesn’t really get the whole woman thing”, he’s also not interested in the harem jutsu at all, he just uses it to get by and has no intention of progressing it… although konohamaru puts in all this extra effort to make it better and better…. yet what did naruto practice more than the rasengan… that’s right the REVERSE harem jutsu… hmmmmm…………
16. a childhood head canon?
i’ll add a couple others because i think about naruto at all times, but here’s a couple other answers too! i hc naruto to bleach his hair… so when he’s super young he has black hair hehe.. i think he keeps up on bleaching really well though (which is why you never see him with roots in my drawings) HOWEVER i do think that when he goes on long missions and doesn’t have the access to his stuff his roots start growing in a little bit.. so if i ever draw him on a long mission for w/e reason and he has roots.. that’s why :3 also i like to think naruto has a pretty strong stomach.. since he was never given enough money as a kid to be able to buy enough food until his next pay i think he would do a combination between foraging and digging thru trash… and i don’t think he’d properly wash the stuff he foraged and he definitely ate some spoiled food that was thrown out… uhm he was probably sick a lot as a kid cause of that but i think he kinda built up a bit of an immunity so as he got older he could tolerate more. uhm if you’re thinking about the classic episode with the milk my excuse for that is that i also hc him to be lactose intolerant but he doesn’t care and consumes dairy anyways LMFAOOO so everything but dairy his stomach is a champ for ahahsghsgs
22. when do you think they were at their lowest?
hmm.. this one’s slightly hard. i’m inclined to say during the 5 kage arc when realizing the reality of losing sasuke is an actual possibility (after ay denied his plead to forgive sasuke, and he found out sakura was planning to kill sasuke). most of his other lows he was able to power on just by the thought of being able to reunite with sasuke, but this time he was confronted with the fact that sasuke could potentially be killed. if not by sakura then some bounty hunter. HOWEVER i do think another low for him was honestly just his life pre-academy. i would say during the academy because he was still alone friendship wise, but he wasn’t isolated at that point. people were at the very least in his vicinity even if they were mean to him. however pre academy the only interaction he had with people was being screamed at and threatened… hated and glared at for a reason completely unknown to him. he certainly acted out as a way of coping but he was by no means doing okay in the slightest. he even says to iruka in the beginning of classic something along the lines of “there’s no point in going home, no one’s there for me anyways”…. he spent most of his childhood outside being harassed by adults for something he couldn’t even begin to conceptualize rather than being at home because being alone hurt him more…… anyways enough of that i made me sad LOL
sasuke
12. sexuality hc?
gay. just look at the boy. i don’t need to explain this one just look at him.
16. childhood head canon?
uhm we all know sasuke is trans (that’s real btw, not a hc. just fact.) but i figure he probably realized and vocalized it *really* young.. like sometime around age 6 or 7ish… i think he just kinda told everyone he was actually a boy when he first started having thoughts of it and went from there lol… i think a lot of his ‘rivalry’ with itachi and wanting to be like him/better than him is based off a bit of jealousy from always being undeniably a boy and not having to try to be acknowledged as one…. (that said i do think his family was all very accepting. specially mikoto.. and tbh i think itachi was very happy about it too. on that note i think itachi was the first he told. then his parents at dinnertime). also i like to think that sasuke is really good at identifying flowers and wildlife cause he would pick flowers for mikoto as a kid.. and she’d tell him all about them.. they would go on picnics and walks and she and fugaku would do the same then with any animals or plants they felt like pointing out/whatever sasuke or itachi would ask about… ofc as time went on they got to do this less and less because they became.. busy. uhm. but i think they used to when they were younger! it also branches into a non-childhood hc which is that sasuke ends up tending to a garden of his own when he’s older…. he’s familiar with that kinda stuff from his childhood c: plus the sharingan is very good at identifying plants and any issues/pests on them.
22. when do you think they were at their lowest?
definitely right after the massacre for this one.. unfortunately sasuke has a lot of lows but tbh those to me don’t quite compare to the tragedy of becoming alone and being betrayed after being loved so gently…. i mean every single person he loved and was close to was just brutally murdered by his brother.. the person you’re supposed to be able to relate to and trust and cling to most in the whole world… on top of that he’s then told that he means nothing to his brother and he’s too pathetic to even kill….. then he’s forced to watch his brother kill his parents and his clan over and over and over again for days (to sasuke)… and then he’s left completely alone for the first time. he has to learn how to care for himself after experiencing the most guttural loss of his entire life.. he doesn’t know how to cook for himself, he doesn’t know how to care for himself, and he has absolutely no one to guide him because the only person in konoha that is supposed to look over sasuke’s care doesn’t even want sasuke alive. he has to do this all while working through severe trauma and depression while on his own for the first time in his life. all this to also be dealing with the manipulation and mind games instilled into him by itachi… forcing him to not be able to process or attempt to heal from the uchiha genocide, but to use it to fuel his anger for itachi… yeah…… he was definitely at his lowest while he was new to being all alone as a child. i need to lay down…
#augh……… my lonely boys when they’re all alone..#they choke me up..#thanks for asking about their lowest times.. 😔😔 i could talk about their childhood lonliness forever if it didnt make me so sad.. i have#so many thoughts and feelings about them as kids….#eugh..#in another note tho i hope u like my silly deidara beef#it’s essentially baseless but the anger is real ahskshsksj#ask and i shall answer#kyghostly

Desert Flower Part 4
7 Years Later,
Yuri had finished tying on her leaf headband to pull up her hair after she put on her red shirt and brown shorts and blue sandals. 13 years old and she was finally an official Leaf shinobi! She quickly left her house, to meet up with Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke.
As Yuri turned around the corner, she stopped when she saw a small gathering up ahead. She saw Naruto, Sakura, three kids Moegi and Udon and Konohamaru, who always followed Naruto around. She frowned when she saw Konohamaru being held in the air by a strange boy, dressed completely in black with something wrapped up and strapped to his back, wearing purple warpaint on his face. There was another ninja, standing beside him. She had sandy blond hair tied up in four pigtails, wearing a light purple of the shoulders garment that extended down to her knees, red sash around her waist, fishnets over her shoulders, on her right calf and left leg. Yuri's eyes widen, recognizing her. Temari! Yuri smirked and grinned ear to ear, and slowly walked over, keeping quiet, trying not to make her presence known. As she got closer, Yuri lightly poked Temari behind her back. Temari jumped startled.
"What the!?" She quickly turned around and so did the other boy, who was holding Konohamaru, startled as well. Temari blinked, completely shock and stared at Yuri, like she had seen a ghost.
"Yuri?" Temari sputtered.
"Hi." Yuri smiled. Temari smirked back at her.
"Well, well, I didn't think I would run into you so soon."
"Wait, Temari, you know her?" the boy dressed in black questioned. Yuri blinked at him, not recognizing him.
"Uh, who are you?"
"I should as you the same thing!" he shouted. Temari nudged him in the side.
"Kankuro, you idiot! You don't recognize her? You played with her a little." she hissed at him. Kankuro's eye widen, now realizing, who Yuri was.
"Wait a minute, you mean to tell me this is the sneezy girl back at the village?!" Yuri's eyes widen.
"Kankuro? Is that you!?" she said in disbelief, but also embarrassed hearing her old nickname. "I'll have you know that my immune system is better thank you. Man, I barely even recognize you in that get up. What's with the make up?"
"It's war paint!" Kankuro exclaimed, insulted. Naruto and Sakura were still watching still confused.
"Yuri, you know these people?" Sakura asked her. Yuri nodded.
"Yeah, they're old friends back my home village." She told them.
"Old friends, huh? Well, tell that punk to drop Konohamaru!" Naruto told her, narrowing his eyes at Kankuro, glaring at him.
"Yeah! Put me down!" Konohamaru shouted.
"Not until I teach you a lesson." Kankuro smirked.
"Come on, Kankuro, let him go. If he shows up, we're going to get into a lot of trouble." Temari tried to talk him out of it.
"Yeah, whatever he did, he's just a kid. He wasn't thinking." Yuri told him. Just as Kankuro was about to punch, Konohamaru, a rock shot out and hit Kankuro in his wrist, making him drop Konohamaru. Everyone looked up to see Sasuke in the tree, narrowing his eyes on the two ninjas, juggling some rocks in his hands. Temari blushed.
"Sasuke!" Sakura squealed, happily. Yuri rolled her eyes, annoyed.
"Honestly, what do you see in that guy? He's not that great." She murmured, but Sakura heard her.
"What did you just say!?" She screamed, angrily. Sasuke still kept his eyes on the two Sand ninjas.
"You ninjas aren't from around here. Why are you here?" He demanded.
"Kankuro, you're a disgrace to our village." a deep quiet voice answered, coldly.
A boy was in the tree next to Sasuke, hanging upside down with his arms crossed. He had red hair, dark circles around his eyes, a red tattoo above his left eye, wearing a black body suit with an open neck with t-shirt like sleeves and full-length leggings. There was a white sash over his right shoulder to his left hip, to carry a large gourd that he had strapped to his back. He had his hidden Sand headband, tied to his sash as well. Yuri, recognized him almost immediately.
"Gaara?" Yuri frowned, not believing what she was seeing. Her eyes widen and she smiled and waved at him. "Gaara!" Temari and Kankuro tensed up when they saw Yuri starting walk over to Gaara and tried to stop her. Suddenly, sand came out from Gaara's gourd and whipped out at Yuri. Yuri quickly jumped back, dodging the warning shot. She frowned, looking up at Gaara.
"What's the big idea!?" She demanded. Temari held her back.
"You're annoying." Gaara spoke. Yuri's eyes widen and she pushed Temari off of her.
"Why are you acting like you don't know me? Gaara, it's me, Yuri!" She told him. "I know it's you! I recognize that bright red hair anywhere!"
"I know no such person and you're getting on my nerves. I will kill you if you get in my way." he said, coldly. Yuri's eyes widen in shock.
"What about our promise!?" She shouted. Then Yuri saw that Gaara wasn't wearing the ribbon that she had tied to his wrist, so many years ago. Where was it!?
"I made no promise." Gaara spoke. Then he vanished in a cloud of sand, shocking everyone and suddenly reappearing next to Temari and Kankuro, who backed away from him a little. Yuri still kept her gaze on him, silently. What happened to him? This wasn't the timid boy she knew back at the village. His eyes held a bloodlust to them.
"You still didn't tell us why you're here!" Sakura shouted. "The Hidden Sand Village is one of Konoha's close allies. But according our treaty, your ninjas aren't permitted to cross the border without permission."
Temari pulled out her passport, showing it. "Weren't you told anything? We're here to take the Chuunin Exam."
"Chuunin exam?" Naruto asked her.
"Ninjas from the Hidden Sand Village along with ninjas from other nations are sent to compete against Konoha's own candidates. Mainly to maintain the skill of all shinobi at the same high level of excellence. Also to foster friendship and understanding between ninja and of course to maintain the balance of power between the lands themselves." She explained. Gaara turned to Sasuke.
"What's your name?" Gaara asked Sasuke.
"Sasuke Uchiha." Sasuke smirked.
"Hey, I bet you want to know my name!" Naruto smiled.
"Come on, we're going." Gaara started to walk away, ignoring Naruto. Kankuro followed behind him quietly. Temari shot Yuri a glance as if telling her sorry and she quickly followed after them.
"Gaara!" Yuri shouted at him, but he ignored her. Naruto and Sakura walked over to her and Sasuke hopped down from the tree, keeping his eyes on the three Sand ninjas.
"What is up with that guy?" Naruto asked. "Wasn't he the one you were always telling me about? I thought he was your friend?"
"I don't know. Two can play this game." Yuri frowned.
"Come on, let's go meet with Kakashi-sensei. He had something that he wanted to tell us." Sakura said.
"I wonder what he wants now?" Sasuke questioned.
"You know he's going to make us wait for him to show up. Might as well take our time getting there." Yuri suggested. Naruto, Yuri, Sakura, and Sasuke left. Yuri noticed a strange white bird flying in the sky heading to the Hokage building, wondering what it was then she quickly followed after her team. They waited at the bridge that Kakashi told them to him at. Another hour went by and Kakashi poof himself on top of a pillar and waved down at them.
"Sorry, I'm late. I wandered off a little."
"YOU LIAR!" Naruto and Sakura shouted at him.
"What is it that you wanted to tell us?" Yuri asked him. Kakashi pulled out four slips of paper that were forms.
"I recommended the four of you to take the chuunin exams." he told them.
"What?" Yuri, Sasuke, Naruto and Sakura all asked at once, surprised.
"All you have to do is fill out these forms and show up tomorrow at the academy. It's completely up to you if you want to or not. Just show up at room 301 around 4:00." Kakashi told them, handing out the forms. The four took the forms from him.
"Good luck!" Kakashi waved and poof in a cloud of smoke, vanishing.
"There's going to be a lot of tough competition." Sasuke murmured.
"Like strange guy with the make-up." Naruto added and shivered when Gaara came into his mind. "And him..." Sasuke and Yuri looked at him.
"Well, what do you say? Are we all in or not?" Yuri asked them.
"I'm definitely in! I'm not going to let anyone beat me!" Naruto shouted.
"I'm in." Sasuke replied. Yuri turned to Sakura.
"Sakura?"
"I'm not so sure about this." She murmured. Yuri's eyes widened.
"Really? Why? I thought you would be. You're the smartest ninja in the entire village. You're in the top of our class." She spoke.
"Until you showed up." Sakura spoke, sarcastically. Yuri's eyes widen a little before they dropped, slightly.
"Come on, Sakura, don't you think your being a little mean?" Naruto spoke.
"We can't do this without you, Sakura. You're apart of our team. We need you." Yuri told her. Sakura's eyes widen a little in shock.
"Alright. I'm in." She smiled.

I honestly agree with a lot of your opinions, and even when I don't, I think that your arguments are always well structure and respectful to other people.
But I have some questions (and I'm sorry if you have already answer them), (also sorry for some of my English, it's not my first language)
How do you feel about narusaku?
How do you feel about people changing certain aspects about Sakura to try to improve her character?
How would you improve Sakura?
How much do you think Sakura being a good character could affect the story?
What was the moment you really started to ship SNS? And what are you favorite moments?
(Sorry if there's ro many questions)
I honestly agree with a lot of your opinions, and even when I don't, I think that your arguments are always well structure and respectful to other people.
Aww!!!! Thank you, Anon. This made my day. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I will start from my favourite question (The one in the last)
What was the moment you really started to ship SNS?
I never wore any shipping lens, Anon.
Literally, I started to ship SNS only after Episode 478 or Chapter 698. Before that, I always had these doubts in the back of my mind.
'Something seems to be very weird between these guys',
'Why are they behaving differently compared to other friends?',
'Why Sasuke is behaving totally different towards Naruto?',
'Why Sasuke agreed to honour Naruto's promise under the bridge, despite having no shred of affection towards his other former Team Members?',
'Why Naruto is so obsessed with Sasuke?',
'Why Sasuke felt Naruto's chakra in Konoha and bothered by it?',
'Why Sasuke is protecting Naruto like a precious treasure only to end up wanting to kill him?',
'Why Sasuke has this weird obsession that ONLY I CAN KILL NARUTO but not someone else?',
So, I had all these questions piling up one by one inside my mind as the series progressed and I can't simply jump into a conclusion because I don't know what Sasuke was thinking. I hate one-sided ship and I want reciprocation. So, I usually put all these questions on the back burner and started to focus on the story. Damn!!!, The story was equally captivating and emotionally daunting. When Sasuke finally confessed his feelings towards Naruto in Episode 478, I simply couldn't believe myself but ship them. Because, in no world, Friends would behave this way towards each other.
So, to answer your question, it's after Episode 478, I started to ship them. But if you want me to say when exactly I started to doubt their level of friendship??
It's this moment,
Now you may think, 'Yeah, you saw two boys in a close proximity and decided to ship together. It's nothing strange'.
I have to say, Close proximity was the last thing, I felt from this scene. My reason was those heart breaking scenes that happened before which led to this specific moment.
I will make it as short as possible. I'll start with this
God!! I wanted to punch Sasuke so badly when he said this with a deadpan expression. It looks like he was lying just to get power. I thought, 'Sasuke!!! What a lying piece of crap you are!! If you want to kill Naruto, Just do it. Why doing a fake confession? '.
It doesn't help as the fight progressed because Sasuke was really playing football with Naruto and when this happened,
I was shell-shocked because, the Sasuke we saw so far is no more. It even confirmed my thoughts about the fake confession. Which sane person will ram Chidori through his Close Friend's body?.
After many blows were exchanged, I simply wished for one thing. Naruto should win and Sasuke should be stopped no matter what. When the final Rasengan vs Chidori happened, I couldn't understand what was going on inside that power ball. Naruto and Sasuke look at each other with pained expression and we see the younger version of them smiling at each other.
And then finally we see a knocked out Naruto with Sasuke standing and looking at him without any expression and was about to say, 'Naruto.... I' which was interrupted by rain and when Sasuke felt a stinging pain in his arms and falls down on his knees. He coughs up blood and then this iconic scene happens.
That scene conveyed many things
Sasuke wanted to kill Naruto but couldn't.
Sasuke meant what he said. Naruto is his closest friend, it’s not a lie.
Sasuke couldn't severe his ties completely with Naruto.
Sasuke's pain of saying 'Goodbye' is greater than the stinging pain in his arms.
Sasuke deliberately, I repeat deliberately and not accidentally, came close to look at Naruto's face and experiencing something that, we, audience don't know.
So, you see, Anon. The emotional train wreck that led to this scene made me really doubt about their depth of feelings they had towards each other for the first time. That's when I thought, 'Something seems to be very weird between these guys, what is it?'
And what are you favorite (SNS) moments?
There are two moments which shows how Sasuke is playing an emotional battle within himself.
1. Sasuke, Susanoo, Naruto, Minato
This happens right after Sasuke said to Obito, “Not you.... The one who is going to sever the past is....me”.
In this moment, Sasuke can pretty much let Naruto to die, because nobody is trying to kill Naruto. Still, he saved him with a 3 layered protection. The best part is Sasuke acted quicker than Minato, the fastest shinobi, to protect Naruto. Surely Minato wouldn’t want to blow up near his Son, for whom he gave his life once. It’s just that Sasuke is extremely quicker at this moment.
2. For some reason, My Sharingan deactivated on it’s own
If only, Sasuke maintained his Sharingan, he could’ve traced Naruto’s movements and deflected his upper cut and would’ve successfully landed his Chidori through him. But he just couldn’t.
Both these scenes happens in a span of a day but Sasuke’s emotions fluctuates a lot when it comes to killing Naruto, protecting Naruto, can’t kill Naruto.
How much do you think Sakura being a good character could affect the story?
To be Honest Anon, Storywise ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
Yes, I agree with her amazing performance in Gaara retrieval Arc where she tagged along with Granny Chiyo and almost killed Sasori.
After that ????
She did nothing in the Sasuke Reunion Arc. It was all about Naruto vs Orochimaru, Yamato’s Wood style jutsu, Sai’s betrayal towards Orochimaru. Geez!!! I liked her attitude in this arc but totally spoiled when she was standing simply like a wooden doll when Sasuke was about to stab Naruto. It was Sai who blocked Sasuke.... I was like, ‘Girl!!!! You said you will save Sasuke for Naruto when he went into 4 tails mode. What happened now??? Why are you not stopping him???’
She was just making Food Pills in the Rasen Shuriken Arc.
She was basically climbing from one tree to another in the Sasuke killing Orochimaru to Sasuke joining Akatsuki Arc. Even Naruto’s role was very minimal in that arc except he met Kabuto, Dead soul of Jiraiya, Itachi, a split second meeting with Sasuke where he got Chidori’ed and fought with Tobi.
She was just a spectator praying for Naruto in the Pain Arc. Yeah, she did healed few people and punched some monsters. But it just doesn’t matter. Even Konohamaru killed a Pain in that arc.
She turned into an Asshole by making a fake confession towards Naruto and decided to kill Sasuke in the Kage Summit Arc. I think, this is where Kishi decided to shit on her mercilessly by making her into someone who was going to hurt both of her team mates mentally and physically. Basically Kishi transformed a clever medical Ninja who can find an antidote in a matter of hours to an asshole who believed Naruto did everything for her and even more of an idiot by planning to kill Sasuke with just a poisoned Kunai. Isn’t she the one who told Kakashi that Sasuke was given forbidden drugs to improve his strength after their Reunion??? Can’t she put 2+2 together to know Sasuke would be immune to poisons because of his days spent with Orochimaru??? Yeah, she did impacted the story. But it was not for her development. Sakura’s foolishness made Naruto and Sasuke to meet each other again and made a promise. So, you see, she was just a tool that pushes the narrative development of other characters, not her own. Her development took a big blow in this arc.
She was non-existent in the Naruto-Killer Bee Training Arc.
She was just healing people and punched some zetsu during Powerful Edo-Tensei Shinobis vs Allied Shinobi forces Arc. I expected her to have a special fight. But Nope. Even Ino, Shikamaru and Choji fought Asuma, Kakuzu and Kinkaku, Ginkaku brothers.
She was non-existent in the Uchiha Madara vs 5 Kages mini arc
She was non-existent in Obito vs Naruto, Kakashi, Might Guy and Killer Bee mini arc.
She was non-existent in the Sasuke & Itachi vs Kabuto mini arc.
She was non-existent in the Edo Tensei’ed Hokages and Team Sasuke arc.
She was punching some Juubi Clones in the Official War Arc which will never make a difference to the story. At the same time, her character was transformed from an Asshole who hurted her teammates to an horny biasshhhh who wants only Sasuke’s D. She summoned Katsuyu and was healing soldiers. But there were an army of Medical Ninjas too. So her absence will not affect the story in a big way. She did Lip to Lip CPR for Naruto though. Again, that would never help Naruto in a major way unless he was helped by Obito by placing Bijuu inside him. Again, Kishi didn’t make her the sole saviour here. Instead, she was used as a medium to facilitate Obito’s transformation from a bad guy to good guy. Kishi made Obito as the Saviour here.
She was useless and was not able to destroy Obito’s rinnegan in the Reincarnation of Indra and Ashura vs Rikkudou Sennin Madara arc.
She was useless in the Kaguya arc. [Sorry, that punch won’t make any difference because Kaguya must be stupid to not use her 360 degree vision to see Sakura from behind. With Naruto and Sasuke has already become a demi god at this point, her clown show is incomparable].
She was useless in the final Naruto vs Sasuke arc.
So, you tell me Anon. Did she make any impact to the story that served as a major twist??
The story revolved around Naruto and Sasuke.
Itachi, Obito, Jiraiya, Madara, Hashirama and other Hokages were the game changers of this story. Meaning, their presence or death will change the story by a huuuuggge margin.
Tsunade, Orochimaru, Team Nagato, Kabuto helped our protagonists in a BIGGGG WAAYYYY.
Akatsuki were just amazing who gave us the sense of thrill as well as fun.
Even Sakura being good will never impact the story because she had no dedicated arc written for her.
But, if she were written as a good character, my viewing experience would have improved in a relaxing way so much so that I don’t have to press my fast forward button whenever she appears and I wouldn’t be writing this post explaining why I hate her.
How would you improve Sakura?
Simple, By writing her similar to Rin Nohara.
No obsession but a simple love towards Sasuke.
No toxicity but caring friendship towards Naruto.
That’s all.
How do you feel about people changing certain aspects about Sakura to try to improve her character?
Well, that means they would qualify as a fanfiction writers, aren’t they??.
Also, this inherently proves that she is a piss poor character and people wants to change certain aspects of her which they find annoying. But it will 100% end up being OOC. And I’m not into reading those OOC stuffs, Anon.
I always believe in accepting what the author has given rather than trying to fix their work. Because the author writes a character deliberately to make the readers feel what he intended in the first place. Kishi could write a redemption for even someone like Orochimaru towards the very end. Like, he literally made him to help Sasuke, not as a human predator, but as a former Master and an admirer. He wrote him to help Tsunade and other Kages. So in the end, Orochimaru was not hated like he was hated in part 1. If he can write something for Orochimaru, why not for Sakura???
You know how I can redeem Sakura in just 3 or 4 panels?
Let me tell you.
After that fake confession, Sakura could talk to Naruto,
“I am very Sorry, Naruto. I know you will never take things in your heart. But still I shouldn’t have used Love as a tool to make you not to do something. I was an Idiot to not realize how badly you want to save Sasuke. It wasn’t just for me. But it was for Sasuke and also for you, as his friend and also for us as Team 7. So, how about we go to Ichiraku, for a nice lunch??”
While confessing Sasuke for the second time,
“It seems you still want to go on to that dark path, isn’t it?. I am not the most powerful ninja in this world and I know I can’t trade blows with you. But still.... if you try to hurt my friend, Naruto and my master, Tsunade. I will fight with all my strength to kill you..... Even though I love you”
I am pretty sure, if Sakura confessed something along these lines, everyone would have admired her and it shows her emotional maturity as a Kunoichi who wants to do something to this world as well as a person who is ready to kill someone she loved in order to protect the people she holds dear.
In chapter 699. Before saying Goodbye to Sasuke,
“I am very Sorry, Sasuke. I never really understood what was going on inside your heart. And, I always forced myself on you because of my selfishness. I really feel bad for those things. I never really became your friend in the first place. How about we say farewell as ‘a good friends’, before your redemption journey??” (Shakes hands.... End of Scene)
How is this???
Is it pleasant to read?? Of course, Yes.
I am pretty sure it wouldn’t take more than 4 or 5 panels. Kishi could’ve easily did something like this. Am pretty sure readers would’ve been satisfied. Her fans too. Even I would’ve forgiven her mistakes.
But Kishi didn’t and I am very sure it’s deliberate. Because, this very same Kishimoto could able to write Konan, Tsunade who acts with so much maturity without whining like a little girl.
Which shows Kishi clearly hates this character and never wanted to redeem her.
So no matter how many people improve this character, it will never be believable.
How do you feel about narusaku?
Naruto always placed Sasuke as his priority, Anon. That’s always the case. So, apart from SNS, if you want me to say whether NaruSaku had any potential?
I would say, yes, NaruSaku had potential. I will not deny it. Naruto had some liking towards Sakura compared to the absolute indifference towards Hinata.
There are some moments Sakura genuinely cried for Naruto without anyone’s influence. I liked it. Say, the scene where she cried on hearing ‘A Jinchuriki without Bijuu will die” and with Yamato she told, “I can only do little things for Naruto”.
These are all coming from her own heart. No one instilled inside her.
[[[ That’s why I will not accept her realization of ‘Annoying, huh? So, this is how Naruto must have felt too. Maybe I should be a little nicer to him next time’ as genuine in Episode 3. Because she realized only after Sasuke roasted her. I want feelings to emerge subconsciously rather than instilled by someone. ]]]
Unlike the asshole Sakura she was in part 1, Sakura started out good in Shippuden. I was surprised with her development in Gaara Retrieval Arc and was not at all annoyed by her presence. (Except when she said she will save Naruto and Sasuke from Itachi.... Grrrrr.... Biashhhhh.... Do you know Itachi’s abilities first of all??? He can crush you like a meatball with his Susanoo)
I started to feel, ‘Wooow!!! She has improved a lot. Great!!!!’.
Even though, she was useless in Rasen Shuriken Arc, She still made an effort to make food pills for Naruto. She even hugged Naruto much to his surprise, before all the villagers and especially before, ahemmm Hinata after defeating Pain.
Despite all of these moments that had happened between them, I could only see them as a pair formed of mutual tragedies rather than mutual attraction, Anon. In their case, Losing Sasuke. I wasn’t 100% sure whether Sakura moved on from Sasuke or not. Because When Sakura was looking for Sasuke with Kakashi’s Tracking dogs, she was still in love with him. So Sakura fluctuates between her obsession with Sasuke and some genuine feelings towards Naruto.
Kage summit Arc is where everything changed and finalized. Sakura was crying like an annoying shit when she heard that Sasuke joined Akatsuki and was wanted by Raikage. This clearly shows her obsession has flared up again and ‘Poof’ all the development she had with Naruto was thrown into drain.
On top of it, the fake confession. Grrrrrr.......
Plus, Naruto officially closed the possibilities of this ship by saying, “Sasuke, I know the Truth of Itachi from a guy named Tobi. I don’t know whether it’s true or not. But whatever you’ve been doing so far (hunting Killer Bee, ruckus in Kage summit conference, trying to kill Sakura, Kakashi).... It’s all understandable”.
If Naruto truly, wholeheartedly, deeply loved Sakura, he wouldn’t have said something like, ‘It’s understandable why you tried to kill Sakura”. He should have beaten Sasuke into a pulp. Or atleast shown some intense anger. Instead, Naruto was talking to Sasuke and making promise by saying ‘We will die together’. It’s like Sakura playing cupid for Sasuke and Naruto.
Naruto was okay with someone trying to kill Sakura whereas he was not okay with someone trying to kill Sasuke and even went to the extent of hyperventilating. This is why I feel any other ships are incomparable with SNS.
After that Sakura started to behave rabidly towards Sasuke in the War arc which I can’t help but feel disgusting. So, anything she did for Naruto in the War Arc was overshadowed by her crazy obsession towards Sasuke. That’s why her CPR doesn’t matter, Sakura healing Naruto doesn’t matter. [Naruto has his own regenerative abilities, so whatever she does will not matter much for him]
So, NaruSaku was closed officially by Naruto and Sakura. It couldn’t sail because of the presence of Sasuke.
At the end, I felt like Sakura used Naruto for getting her man back ready for romance rather than a killer mode Sasuke. I couldn’t feel the friendship they once had or any familiarity.
I just hate people who don’t value friendships, anon. Sakura was not even a good friend, first of all. Yeah she had her friendly moments here and there. But, at the end of the series, she was not. A war has just ended, many people lost their lives, her supposed ‘best friend’ Ino lost her father. Why can’t she help her out emotionally? Why can’t she do some fucking good stuffs for this Shinobi world like her other teammates?? Instead, what she did was ‘let’s go and persuade Sasuke-kun to lend me some D by going along with his journey. Because I am so horny’.
It not how you were in the beginning, It’s how you ended up being. She started this series as a worst friend and she ended up as a worst human being for me. How can I ship such a person with Naruto????

Hi, I was wondering if you know of any examples of Kakashi or Gai supporting women/women’s rights? I swear there are several (in the main series or maybe in SD), but right now I can only think of the scene in Gotta See Gotta Know where Kakashi tells the man to back off since the woman had told him to stop. (Or maybe I’m just imagining them with these qualities since they’re they’re two of my favorite characters haha).
Sure!
This post might stretch a little bit but I’ll try and be quick so it won’t at all be comprehensive. Still, I’ll put it under a readmore!
There’s of course the scene where Kakashi stops a girl from being harassed
And Gai’s most notable scene would be him noting his admiration for kunoichi and saying that there are a lot of amazing kunoichi he looks up to that can’t do Medical Ninjutsu
The two of them have some good teacher moments with their female students.
And they both definitely acknowledge when Tenten and Sakura put in the effort and make progress, even if, in Kakashi’s case, he’s not the one to be her direct teacher (that’s more-or-less the way it is with all three members of Team 7 bc plot)
Gai is serious about teaching Lee to be considerate of Tenten as a teammate, and he tries to take her limits into consideration, but only as a person, never because she’s a girl
Naruto Shippuden episode 237 was full of moments where Gai says and shows how much he admires and respects Tsunade and he gives Tenten a chance to test out every route she has as a kunoichi. Gai also emphatically said that kunoichi don’t have to be healers and can specialize in whatever they want.
Kakashi and Gai were also both fervent supporters of Hinata and encourage her abilities and try to build up her confidence
And since you mentioned Naruto SD, I have to mention the episode where all the kunoichi went to Gai for training because they knew he would give them a strict, tough regimen and wouldn’t go easy on them for being girls (Naruto SD episode 29). Gai was so kind but firm in their training, he even offered them sweets and rewarded their hard work by treating them all to barbecue
You also have the obligatory fact that both Gai and Kakashi are immune to Naruto’s and Konohamaru’s sexy jutsus (Naruto Shippuden 90, Naruto Shippuden
They have some sense and aren’t horndogs, so they’re up there with King Killer B in that respect (And as we know, Killer B is the ultimate supporter of women’s rights)
In Gai’s case, he’s basically incapable of even registering the idea of thinking about the students indecently. In Konoha Shinden, in the novel he says they should all take a soak in the hot springs together, and in the name he told Mirai that if she really wanted to take a bath, he could do what he did when he was younger and take a dip in the river, and both times it just never occurred to him that it could be taken in a weird way because he was completely innocent and earnest about it.
Speaking of Konoha Shinden, Kakashi and Gai are both very certain of Mirai’s skill as a kunoichi, especially Kakashi.
Kakashi praises Kurenai to Mirai, and he praises Sakura’s abilities to Sasuke on parent’s day. Kakashi and Gai both see Kurenai as a capable peer, as well as Shizune.

control - b&s.
pairing: boruto uzumaki x sarada uchiha
request:
word count: 1,918
when it happens: a few months after kawaki apparition
warnings: mentions of blood
a/n: not sure if that was what you were looking for when you requested it, but i kinda liked how it turned out. i just didn’t think about any good roast phrases, and that kinda turned me down, hope you like it though.
MASTERLIST
"Do you think Nanadaime will be mad if I kill them both?" Sarada whispered to Boruto.
A small smile played on his lips, as he arched his brows as if asking her 'so now it is not funny anymore'. The way Sarada rolled her eyes made pretty clear she got the message, which cause his smile to grow bigger. Kawaki and Sumire had been talking shit about them since the minute they left the farm outside the Village they had just helped. Apparently, his father trusted him enough - along with Sarada - to keep an eye on the new guy, and earning his trust.
However, Boruto hadn't done such thing so far. Kawaki was incredibly hard to be friends with. Not that he actually tried that hard to make something happen, he just couldn't stand the freeloader inside his house, getting his dad attention. Boruto fought so hard to finally be recognized by Naruto, so one guy out of nowhere, with a power similar to his, could steal the Hokage's focus all over again.
Sumire went along, because according to his old man, she had been down this road before - and by this road, he meant she tried to tear Konoha apart -, so she could help him to finally see things ahead, like an example. Deep down, Boruto was feeling like he and Sarada were kind of a rehabilitation center for kids who had cracks of wickedness on their past.
It wasn't a shock, neither for Sarada or Boruto, that Sumire and Kawaki got along right away. Their abilities fit together quite well, and their team work was incredible, especially for Kawaki. Boruto hadn't seen the guy being so useful until that particular moment. The thought of Sumire maybe summoning Kawaki crossed his mind, but he didn't verbalize it. Even when Kawaki and Sumire discovered that they could bond over talking shit about Boruto. He did think it was a bit outrageous Sumire had so much to speak about him, particularly because it was mostly bad things he had done during all the years studying together. In the beginning, even Sarada was on board on roasting him, apparently, but once Sumire brought her name to the road, the raven girl stopped enjoying it.
The current topic was his family, the looks one already dead-beat. The most fun part was how mad Kawaki would get when Boruto didn't even glare at his direction, completely ignoring every word he would say. Sumire's words apparently had no effect on the blond guy either, but Sarada had a behavior completely different from his. Everytime the purple haired girl said something about her or her family, Sarada would snap and Boruto had to keep her from ripping someone's head.
"It's only more thirty minutes, and we will finally arrive in Konoha," Boruto muttered the last time she almost used her kunai to rip one of Sumire's eyes. "Hang in there."
His voice was soft and calm, not mirroring at all Sarada's feelings at that particular moment. Sumire had just spoken something about her father, and she could still feel her blood boiling inside her veins, her sharingan ready to be used. The only thing that was keeping her on her place was Boruto's gentle glances and supportive smiles.
"Do you realize they are bonding over bitching about us?" Sarada questioned, amazed by his posture. "How can you not punch them for the things they are saying about your dad? Your mom?"
Boruto glanced over his shoulder, where Kawaki was telling Sumire how he didn't understand how Boruto could be Naruto's son, since he was such a loser and the Hokage was so strong, the girl was covering her mouth to repress a laugh. Boruto just shook his head, tired.
"Easy." His eyes darted from the couple walking behind them to Sarada's face. "I don't get mad because I know it is not true. My mom is strong, my dad, along with yours, is one of the best shinobi alive. The guy is a legend, so as master Sasuke and they are not here, so their words can't hurt any of them. I would act different for sure if he was saying that to my mother's face, but honestly, I don't understand how their non sense talk can crawl under your skin like it had been doing so far," Boruto smiled, as he noticed a pink hue appearing on her cheeks. "I thought after living with me for that long, you would be almost immune to bullshit."
Sarada bit the inside corner of her cheek, as acknowledging his words. He was right. The things those two were saying shouldn't affect her that much, especially because she was completely aware of her parents strength. All memories of her pinkette mom and her dark father protecting her came to her mind, and she was filled with a feeling that she knew way too well. She was proud.
Satisfied, Sarada pushed Boruto lightly with her shoulder, as they continued their path to their homes. A grin lit up his face, as he felt her more at ease.
"I miss Mitsuki," she blurted out. "Somehow I think he would make the whole situation easier to bear."
"Konohamaru-nii-san too," Boruto completed, knowing exactly what she was talking about.
The sun had passed overhead and was descending behind the tall trees to the west. The air sweated with August heat, but an occasional warm breeze was funneled between the bushes, picking up whirlwinds with mixed flowers scent.
"Oi, Boruto," Kawaki shouted from the back after a while. Boruto just kept walking besides Sarada. As tempted as she was to play the mature one in this convo, she couldn't avoid turning her head to stare at the guy behind her. Sadly, Boruto's lack of interested of whatever Kawaki had to say wasn't enough to keep him from actually saying it. "I bet your little sister is stronger than you, if she had inherited your dad's strength, because if it she got from your mother..."
His phrases died once he realized Boruto had stopped, so as Sarada. The girl scanned her teammate. Boruto's fingers curled tightly, pressed against the rough flesh on his hands. Boruto could to see clearly Kawaki's neck snapping in his mind and it felt good. He could feel his fist smashing into his nose, splattering red blood on the trees. What an improvement that would be. Instead, he just replied as if his jaw were wired shut, forcing a sardonic smile.
"Don't worry about that, Kawaki," Boruto winked at him. "I am pretty sure my sister is the only person alive who could beat the crap out of your precious and strong Hokage. She is stronger than me, and believe me, she is way better than you, freeloader," Boruto shrugged and kept his pace.
Sarada bit her lower lip, to contain the huge smile which was desperately to spread across her face after seeing Kawaki's shocked face. The girl took the opportunity to glance daggers at Sumire, but she wasn't staring back at her. Her eyes were locked on Boruto's back, with such admiration, making it hard to Sarada swallow. Sumire liked Boruto as much as Sarada did, and she hated it.
"Well, Sarada," Kawaki continued talking until he finally reached her. "Now I think you are the one stupid here, I don't understand how you can stand that brat-"
That was the exactly moment Kawaki flew meters away from where he was originally standing.
Boruto's arm was stretched out, white knucles from clenching his fingers too hard and gritted teeth from effort to remain in silent, a drop of Kawaki's blood painting his fingers. His rage came out faster than magma and just as destructive. It consumed him, but he couldn't stop himself. Not after seeing the hurt on Sarada's face. Not after seeing the girl he loved being hurt by some jackass who wanted to hurt him.
Kawaki was on the ground, his right hand holding his jaw, as his eyes widened.
"I will endure you talking about my looks, about my father, my mother." Every word stung only fueling the fire that burned inside of him. Every violated phrase was like gasoline to it, his fists began to clench again and his jaw rooted. "I will even take a deep breath when my sister's name come out of your filthy mouth, because she is way better than this whole situation." Burning rage hissed through his body like deathly poison, screeching a demanded release in the form of wanted violence. "But don't you dare, Kawaki, say anything about Sarada in front of me, because if you do, the next time I won't break your jaw. I will break every fucking bone in your body. Did you understand?"
Words left Sarada. She stared into those bright blue eyes burning with anger and her heart fell silent. The moment Kawaki slightly nodded, Boruto turned his back on him, returning to follow his path. Her feet, as they had life on their own, followed him. She felt like she had to say something, but she couldn't will her lips to move. As if stuck underwater, everything was slow and warbled as Boruto muttered an apologize for her.
"What?" She found her voice, looking over her shoulder to see Sumire helping Kawaki to get back on his feet again. "Why are you apologizing?"
"Because I don't want you to think that I don't trust you. I don't believe you need anyone defending you, you are more than capable of doing it yourself. It was just..." He passed his hand through his face, trying to calm down.
"It's okay, Boruto," Sarada got closer to him, darting him a grin once he turned his eyes to face her. "At least, you didn't kill him."
"It did take all my strength not to." He responded, honestly, making her heart flutter. "When the stupid word reached my ears, I felt like I lost all control I had left."
"I thought you were good at this control thing." Sarada teased him, but before he could give her a smart comeback, she grabbed his hand and pressed it tightly. "Thank you, Boruto."
His cheeks burned red from her touch, and he looked away. "Yeah, whatever, that is what friends are for."
Sarada nodded but didn't let go of his hand. His burning flesh was a good contrast against her cold skin. Boruto didn't drop it either. They just kept roaming, their fingers intertwined.
From behind, Kawaki and Sumire watched the scene with a crescent curiosity. It was painful for her to see how fondly of Sarada the blond were, he even threatened someone his dad was trying to protect because of her. She couldn't compete with that. Every cell on his body belonged to her, and so as hers. They just didn't notice it yet.
But Kawaki, he was curious about their feelings. Never in his life he had someone that cared so much about him to the point to actually give someone a death sentence. Kawaki couldn't stop himself from wondering how that must feel. The overwhelming love, unbreakable trust and intense admiration. Realizing he may never have anything like it was way more painful than any punch Boruto could throw at his direction, and roasting the blond guy to the point his rage would blow up in his face wouldn't make him feel better.
Well, apparently Boruto's inner psycho threw the last punch. One much worse than the physical one.

Rainstorm || KakaSaku Month
Oof, would you look at this, I’m actually alive. So as you know of me, it’s either filthy smut or tooth-rotting fluff, there’s absolutely no in-between. Without further ado, here’s some fluffy KakaSaku.
Warning: un-beat’d, all mistakes are mine.
Week 1, Day 1:
The loud crack of thunder outside Sakura’s window made her startle, breaking her concentration away from the documents she’d been ‘working’ on (or that was what she deemed staring at them in hopes of forgetting bigger issues at hand to be). And with a loud, miserable sigh, she slumped back in her seat, defeated.
With the absence of their esteemed Rokudaime, lesser missions were being assigned to Konoha Ninja which meant fewer injuries for her to fix. Which inevitably meant no distractions-- after all being elbow deep in someone’s gut was much more engaging than making medical reports.
It’d been days of catching up on the pile of paperwork that had been sitting ignored at the edge of her desk for weeks on end. Sakura cracked her neck irritably, hearing a few satisfying snaps before she stood up to stretch her spine.
For days now (and she absolutely refused to think about how that coincided with Kakashi’s leave on his diplomatic mission), Sakura has had a horrible, sinking feeling in her stomach. Usually, she dealt with this by filling her entire schedule with surgeries, the more complex the better, and let it numb her brain.
A louder, fiercer ripple of lightning bellowed outside, rain harshly splattering across her windowpane and Sakura let out another sigh.
If she didn’t get moving soon she might be stuck here all night long, with the miserable ticking of a clock and a mountain of papers for company. Quickly, Sakura shuffled to get her coat and the bento which contained the leftovers of her dinner— and as if the skies sensed her rush to escape the storm, the howling winds outside roared angrily, causing the windows to rattle.
“Sheesh,” Sakura muttered, pausing to weigh the pros and cons of forgoing getting soaked (and possibly electrocuted) and just sleeping on the uncomfortable leather couch in her office. It wouldn’t be so bad, especially for someone who’d been sleeping in all kinds of uncomfortable places over the years.
The sound of a commotion outside her door would later decide for her as Konohamaru and Mirai Sarutobi showed up with a half passed out Hokage in their grasp.
Sakura’s heart did a strange tug and pull in her chest before sinking to settle somewhere in the pit of her stomach.
Kakashi’s face was extremely pale, his features twisted into a grimace and his lean fingers clutching onto a crimson-gushing wound in his side. He panted loudly, the sound wet and grating like the storm outside. He was also soaked to the bone like Mirai and Konohamaru by his sides.
Konohamaru raced to explain to her their situation. Disjointed words like understaffed, and a surprise trap briefly registered in her mind but she was too busy receiving him from Konohamaru’s grip and hauling him onto the medical bed at the corner of the room to really listen. Kakashi looked like he was about to go into hypovolemic shock any second.
Surprise trap? Enough to wound Kakashi this badly?
“I got him.” She said, her green glowing hands already fretting about, scanning him for any other injuries than the obvious one.
Konohamaru and Mirai retreated out of her office after a few tense moments of silence in which Sakura administered a saline IV and ripped Kakashi’s vest open with one decisive swipe of her index and middle finger, immediately getting to cleansing his wound.
“Sakura—“ he began to talk but she shushed him sharply, forcing him back against the wall as she examined his injury. It seemed like a lightning based attack had pierced through him. The flesh was raw and irritated, threatening infection, the surrounding area charred and blackened.
Upon closer inspection, Sakura startled back to stare at him with wide eyes. “Did you... is this Chidori?”
Kakashi’s breath was growing more ragged, his teeth shattering quietly behind his mask, his eyes screwed tightly shut. He didn’t seem to be capable of answering her yet.
Sakura rushed to the metal cabinet by the stretcher, grabbing a few rolls of gauze, cotton pads and a needle and thread. She dumped them on the tray next to Kakashi and grabbed the woollen blanket she kept for when she slept in her office and wrapped it around his shoulders.
She went through the standard procedure of cleaning and disinfecting bleeding wounds, healing all internal damage as she went and then after a shot of local anaesthetic got to stitching the surface wound. Stimulating his cells to heal anymore would tax his immune system and he didn’t need that right now.
“I was trying to block an attack aimed for Mirai.” He grunted as she poked at the edges of his injury. Sakura’s eyes snapped up to meet his half-lidded ones. “Didn’t expect-- bastard to have a teammate.” He let out a sharp breath through his nose as he shifted to take the weight off his left side and continued, “Hit me in the elbow-- ended up… stabbing myself-- fuck.”
He inhaled deeply every few words, and then finally grit out a pained cuss, reaching for his no-doubt throbbing side. Sakura slapped his hand away.
“Hey, don’t touch that yet.” She growled at him as she began dressing his wound. Internally she was fuming but her hands were steady as she worked, years of practice forcing them to be nothing short of perfect.
“What were you thinking? Going with just Konohamaru and Mirai? You’re smarter than this Kakashi!” Sakura gritted out angrily, unable to hold her tongue. He might be her Hokage but first and foremost he was her best friend and teammate. “I trust you to make the smart decisions, how could you do something so stupid?”
He gave a noncommittal grunt that set her blood boiling beneath the surface. She stewed in silence as she worked, and nearly startled again when the lights abruptly went out, leaving the room a mass of darkness amidst a storm.
The ceiling to floor windows barely let in any lights, the moon absent tonight, concealed by angry grey clouds and heavy raindrops.
She met Kakashi’s eyes in the darkness and huffed in frustration as she leaned even closer to him to wrap the bandage around his back, her hands fluttering blindly over taut, dripping skin. She ignored the way her heart fluttered at the feeling of his breath at her temple. “Unbelievable. Seems like we’ll be here all night.”
“I’m sorry.” He apologised with a pained hitch in his breath, the statement sounding much more intimate whispered into her ear. “It was supposed to be a quick meeting with the Mizukage. An in and out thing. And they’re our allies.”
Sakura sighed, slightly mellowed out at the feeling of him so close to her. “We’re team 7 what were you expecting?”
When she leaned back to try to gauge his expression, her breath caught quietly in her throat as she found their faces much closer than she’d anticipated, his breath ghosting lightly over her cheek.
Sakura’s body momentarily froze, her widened eyes locking with his sleepy ones.
“I don’t know.” He finally muttered, his hand coming up to sweep stray water droplets off her brow, the motion leaving a tingling trail across her forehead. He was still dripping all over. “I’m sorry.”
Feeling a strange lump forming in her throat at the softness of his voice, Sakura reached to caress his cheek in an apology of her own. “Get some rest.”
She helped him lie back on the stretcher and properly covered him with the blanket, matting his hair back and tugging his mask down as she wiped his face dry with a hand towel.
The ghost of a smile twitched his lips as she tapped it over his chin and over the lean muscles of his neck and then finally over each eye, dapping the water droplets away with deliberate gentleness. “You’re an impossible man, did I ever tell you?” She murmured when his breath evened and she thought he might be asleep.
“Couple times,” he responded after a beat of silence, the words coming out as a faint hum than solid syllables, and Sakura huffed quietly at the swarm of butterflies that flooded her stomach.
“Good night, Kakashi.” She responded with an embarrassed smile and turned to the couch to arrange her sleeping place for the night.
//
Sakura wasn’t sure what had woken her up exactly, she couldn’t have been asleep for more than a few hours. She’d been cold, curled up against the back of the couch trying to capture some warmth and then she was warm and cosy and almost half-way asleep again.
She opened her eyes to discover that the blanket she’d previously given Kakashi was draped over her form, tucked in at the sides and Kakashi himself was sat at the edge of her desk, a cup of something warm in his hand.
No wonder I didn’t wake up— Kakashi’s presence and touch had always been incredibly light, and with the how comfortable and safe she’d always felt around the familiar crackling of his chakra thumping just beneath his skin, she’d sensed no alarm, no intrusion for her ninja reflexes to kick in and wake her up.
The skies outside flashed a blinding blue, momentarily lighting up his profile and turning his hair into a bright white, like a beacon of light in the darkness and Sakura lost all the breath in her lungs.
He seemed to have found a shirt somewhere, a white cotton tee, perhaps a size or two too small for him for it stretched taut over the muscles of his back like a second skin. It looked too thin for the cool air in the room, and she shivered for him as she slowly sat up, her blanket pooling around her.
Perhaps he was too lost in thought because he didn’t so much as stir as she padded softly across the carpet covered floors and draped the blanket in her hold over his shoulders.
He startled slightly, his head snapping in her direction. Their eyes met in the dimness and Sakura smiled, “Hey.”
“Hey.” He responded, equally quietly, as she joined him at the edge of the desk, scooting back into a slightly more comfortable position.
“Is everything alright?” She ventured after a beat of silence, watching the way lightning splashed his form with shadows, painting patterns across his pale skin. She’d always associated him with lightning, it was his element, and as terrifying as it was when it chirped like a thousand birds and engulfed his hands with death, she thought it made him beautiful now when it engulfed him with a cocoon of light.
His eyes traced over the skies outside, dragging his gaze from the windows and over to her so that their eyes met again. She waited, wanting to look away from his intense depths of charcoal but finding herself unable to. He was at once as loud as a storm and as quiet as the night. “The last time I assigned a simple mission to a large group of people, they were ambushed and three of them died. First I thought, there’s safety in numbers, lesser chances of things going wrong. Instead, it got them noticed and tracked by a group of missing nins.”
Kakashi without his mask was a myriad of emotions but as she’d long since learned to read his eyes and she found herself almost drowning in the regret swimming there. She looked away first, her chest tight. Sakura knew the exact mission Kakashi spoke of, she’d treated the three other survivors. They were but recently promoted chunnin and she understood how this weighed on Kakashi.
“You couldn’t have known.” She told him, finally, and let silence overtake them.
She understood all too well the kind of emotional baggage that came with losing those in her care, losing patient much like losing soldiers. And it was because of that that she didn’t attempt to console him with false words. Kakashi needed to deal with those matters by himself, that sort of acceptance only born out of one’s self.
Instead, she said what’s been on her mind for hours. “I’m sorry about earlier.”
“No it was an idiotic move, you were within your right to be angry.” He responded rather blankly.
She soldiered through the protective wall that wanted her to keep her emotions and thoughts a secret and fought to keep her embarrassment at bay as she exposed to him more of her honest thoughts. “I had a feeling— the ones you get in your gut, the ones that you said save your life.”
For a moment words failed her, her shoulders tensing with both frustration and crippling awkwardness. Why couldn’t she just fucking say it?
“That I’d get hurt…?” He queried when she didn’t attempt to finish her thought track and instead stared unseeingly at her hands clenched tightly in her lap.
“Yes.” She confirmed after another heavy moment of silence, regaining use of her vocal chords and with it some of her courage. “I get… unreasonably anxious… when you’re away sometimes. And that always coincides with you ending up in this hospital’s care.”
Sakura wondered if her heartbeat sounded as loud to him as it did in her ears, if he, too, could acutely hear its anxious pulsing behind her sternum. She didn’t know what she expected his reaction to be to her confession when she glanced up at him out of the corner of the eye, but it certainly wasn’t the small smile playing at the corner of his mouth. He seemed unreasonably pleased, almost victorious or like how she’d expect someone to look flushed and silently triumphant out of battle.
Her eyebrows rose, her embarrassment easily overshadowed by curiosity as he turned to meet her eyes, his strangely alight with something secret. “A feeling? Are you saying… like we’re soulmates?”
Sakura’s jaw dropped, stunned with his reasoning before embarrassment replaced shock and she found herself, a twenty-five-year-old woman, stammering like a teenager. “N-no! What? I didn’t—!”
Kakashi let his head fall back and laughed heartily, and openly and she cursed the way the sound made warmth fill every cold crack in her soul. The sound was pleasant and amused but not cruelly so, “I’m just teasing you, Sakura.” He chuckled, and she wasn’t sure then which emotion was more overpowering, the need to throttle him or the almost all-compassing want to close the distance between them— perhaps both were of equal conviction.
The tug of war between those two emotions rendered her frozen like a gaping fish out of water, unable to recover or retaliate until his chuckles seized and he turned to watch her with a strange warm look in his eyes.
“You know I’ll always come back.” to you went unsaid but was somehow silently implied by the heaviness of his gaze on her and Sakura found her heart heavy in her chest, like it wanted to burst because it didn’t know how to deal with her emotions anymore.
As ninja, they’d been taught since day one how to suppress emotions, how to control them and how to filter them out so that it never impaired their judgement. And Sakura, for all her honesty and the way she wore her heart on her sleeve, she, too, had learned those lessons. She thought she’d mastered them– but now she felt like the dam of feelings she’d kept locked tight behind an iron wall was bound to suffocate her.
He looked away from her then, and she cursed whatever compelled her to lean forward and press a kiss to his cheek— probably a stupid impulse for Kakahi’s head chose to tilt her way in that instant and the corners of their mouth met in a small, brief kiss.
Sakura startled, froze, and then pulled away from him with a hitching breath, her heart in her throat. “I– um–” heat flooded her cheeks, and panic threatened to take over her but she couldn’t take her eyes off him and the pink burning at the tips of his ears.
He recovered first, his widened eyes closing into sheepish crescents, although a small blush clung to his cheeks. “Maa, Sakura-chan just because you’re a pretty young woman that could get away with it, it doesn’t mean you should take advantage of you poor, unsuspecting patients.”
Sakura stared at him for the second time that hour, floored, her panic thoroughly squashed to be replaced by disbelief. “Wha—?! But I— I didn’t mean to— I wasn’t—!”
Kakashi grinned, with that same flushed look of victory, like he was aware of the fact that she hadn’t meant to kiss him but was pleased with it either way. Sakura, on the other hand, was still resisting the impulse to reach and touch her lips where they kissed. Almost as if she could trap the butterfly like sensation he left fluttering there.
“Impossible man.” She grumbled as she grasped tightly at the edge of the table and looked ahead at the still raging storm, now trying to resist a smile.
She’d always felt this invisible, electric thing hanging between them, like they were opposing forces helplessly tugging at each other, the closer they got the harder the tug became. She thought she was the only one who’d felt it, but in this second, as she glanced at him out of the corner of her eye and watched the way his hand would inch closer to hers only to draw back, she thought he might feel it too.
So Sakura took in a quick, shallow breath, and before she could lose her courage, reached over and grasped his hand in her own. She didn’t dare look at him, no she wasn’t that brave, but this time she didn’t resist her smile when she felt his hand close firmly around hers, his calloused palm circling the soft skin at the back of her hand with deliberate gentleness.
Together, they watched the storm outside.
Note: I’m still going through writer’s block and this took an embarrassingly long time to be written. I hope you like it though.

Boruto Things We Honestly Deserve #9
Where is my Tsunade episode? Consider:
Tsunade to Boruto: “You’re about as big of a brat as your father” Boruto: “You think my dad is a brat?” Tsunade: “He sure was when I first met him. Beat him up with a single finger.” Boruto: ‘I think I’m in love’
Tsunade to Sarada: “Look how much you’ve grown, already shattering small boulders with a punch. Soon we will have you doing that with just a pinky. I bet you’re getting all the attention from the boys!” Sarada: “Tsunade-ba--I mean Tsu-nee-chan, please don’t bet on my love life”
Tsunade to Mitsuki: “Have I ever told you about the time I got your parent and Jiraiya so drunk they tried to elope before Jiraiya lost consciousness??? Mitsuki: “yes” Tsunade: “The time that they tested the effectiveness of a novel poison on themselves without brewing an antidote?? 6 hours of bitching and moaning.“ Mitsuki: “I’m immune to that one.” Tsunade: “Kid, I have over 50 years of blackmail on your parent. What about the time that Jiraiya got them chased out of 3 bath houses in a day?” Mitsuki: “I believe an arrangement could be made.” Boruto: “Wait. Hold up. HOW OLD ARE YOU??”
Tsuande to Konohamaru: “You know Konohamaru, you remind me so much of your grandfather.” Konohamaru: “Thank you Tsunade-sama.” Tsunade: “He was shit at keeping my team in line when we were genin. Never got the hang of it”
