-🩷
Poly Mikaelsons with a Little Reader Headcannons
A/n: your wish is my command
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tumblr media
Klaus
You'd call him Daddy, and not any other, unlike some of the rest of your mommies and daddies
Like there'd be no reason for needing to call him anything else
Except the couple of times you copied Kol by saying 'Nik'. Which ended in Kol almost getting smacked by Klaus if freya hadn't intervened during those times
He'd definitely spoil you, not caring about Elijah's protests on the matter
He shows you his hybrid eyes to calm you down from a nightmare or a crying fit
^works like magic every time
This beautiful daddy is protective of you like nobody's business
It might as well be his full time job
He'd be the most possessive of you, especially when you regress into basically a baby, not being able to pit together a coherent sentence and just want to snuggle.
^which he would happily comply because even though it may not seem it, he'd be one of the biggest cuddlers, his wolf side playing right into it even moreso.
Tumblr media
Elijah
You'd call him Daddy and sometimes when your tired or really regressed, call him Dada
But it's not an every day basis thing
In a very close 2nd place of how protective he is over you, to Klaus
To get you to go down for a nap, he'd walk around the abboiter's endless hallways while gently bouncing you in his arms until your snoozing peace and quietly
Would most likely buy and set up a baby monitor in your nursery to have even more reassurance of your safety even though his vamp hearing is way more reliable than the little machine. But none of the others say anything against it and let it be.
You'd sit with him in his study, coloring a sheet of paper with crayons, sat in his lap, as your Daddy reads through paperwork and boring adult vampire stuff
He'd be very soft with our that no one outside the family has seen or knows of. He'd sit with you in his bed or on the couch or in your nursery on the rocking chair and read you a story - mostly fairytales.
Paces kisses on the crown of your head
Tumblr media
Kol
You'd call him Dada and nothing else - he's Dada and will always stay that way to you.
EXCEPT
When kol acts childishy himself (as he often does), he seems more like a best friend than a caregiver to you in those times, so then you'd call him Koly
^the rest of them may or may not be waiting for the moment where it's clear he's also a little cause like c'mon- but that's a discussion for another time
Would definitely be the one to go all out while playing with you, whether that ne setting up massive race tracks all around the abboiter for hot weel cars or creating high pitch voices for your barbie dolls and stuffed animals
He'd blow raspberries on your stomach, sending you into a fit of screeching laughter
Would 100% be labeled as the 'fun daddy'
He'd be the most disappointed when Rebekah banned them from ever dressing you again. He himself thought his outfit choices were incredible.
Would give you smooches all over your face, making you burst out into gleeful laughter
Tumblr media
Rebekah
You'd call her Mama and Momma. Mama is used more, but you interchange it depending on your regressed state.
She'd treat you like a princess and almost spoils you as much as Klaus
She'd love buying you cute dresses and jewelry that's safe for you so you won't choke on it or hurt yourself.
She'd ban Elijah, Klaus, and Kol from ever dressing you after witnessing the horrendous outfits they put you in.
^ "this is a fashion nightmare what on earth were you thinking?!" Is a line said to all of them at different moments before she got them all together in a room and declared they're banned from dressing you any longer.
Would do your hair up in the cutest hairstyles, especially the ones with multiple braids
^it's calming for both you and her
She loves just laying with you on her bed. You snuggled into her closet and head nuzzled into her surprising warm vampire chest.
Suckling on her boobs before you're laid down for your bedtime or naps
Tumblr media
Freya
You'd call her Mommy and sometimes Momma when you're more regressed. But she's your Mommy through and through.
She loves holding you in her arms and gets a tad disappointed when she has to put you down
^she'd 100% buy one of those adult wraps to hold you against her body
Would cast a protective charm on you so nothing happens to hurt you.
Having Mommy and Mama days with her and Rebekah>>>> they'd be the best!
Freya's the only other one who can still dress you without Rebekah going all 'power mad' (Kol's wording) because she knows her older sister has got the fashion sense that their brothers don't contain.
She'd place Kisses all over your face in the morning after you'd just woken up
Would sway you in her arms and sometimes she doesn't even realize she's doing so
Expect The Unexpected - Kol Mikaelson x Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: Kol saves you from a creep and it leads somewhere you never expected
Words: 3k
Warning; creepy stalker; think that's it
Notes: Had to write some Kol but I will be writing more Joel and Tommy Miller tomorrow x
Y/N’s POV
I step out of the restaurant, having said my goodbyes to Caroline and Elena, wanting to just get home and collapse into bed as my social batteries are on zero. It’s late and the streets are deserted except for a few people walking their dogs or heading home from the bars as it is Friday night. It’s a beautiful night with a full moon illuminating the sky and I can’t help but enjoy the quietness of it all as I begin the walk home.
Footsteps can be heard behind me but when I turn there’s no one there. I think being around vampires a lot I’m starting to go insane as they’re always sneaking up on me, making me paranoid all the time as Damon loves to scare the shit out of me. The footsteps are getting louder and an uneasy feeling settles in my chest. This isn’t any of the vampires I know. No, when I glance over my shoulder my heart skips a beat in fear as there’s a man in a hoodie walking a few feet behind me. He’s staring at me with a creepy smile, eyes intense on mine like he’s undressing me with his gaze and I start to feel a little sick. I could yell for any of my supernatural friends knowing they’re hear me and be here in seconds but that feels like I’m weak, being human and all that.
I shake my head and continue walking, heart pounding in my chest, as of course this shit happens to me. Not wanting to admit defeat and call I remember the short alleyway nearby that would take me to Stefan and Damon’s, much closer than mine so I hurry my pace. The footsteps behind me seem to get even louder, like he’s right behind me and my uneasiness turns to fear as I turn left down the alleyway, hoping to lose him in the maze of building. My luck isn’t that good as I glance behind me again see him still following, leering and I can hear his breath, ragged and heavy, like he’s running. Fuck’s sake! I break into a sprint, my feet pounding the pavement, my breath coming in short gasps and as much as I’m used to running for my life I’m not sure how much longer I can keep this pace up with him not too far behind me.
That’s when I collide with something solid and familiar, strong hands flying to my shoulders to steady me. The scent of something earthy mixed with spice and leather and something sweeter like cinnamon has me relaxing and the panicked tears begin slipping down my cheeks, knowing I’m safe.
“Hey lovely, what’s wrong?” That familiar British accent asks and I’m finally looking up to see Kol, his concerned face mere inches from me. The proximity has my breath hitching despite how scared and panicked I feel, words catching in my throat as I gesture behind me to where the creep is still visible and still making his way closer. Kol’s face hardens as he realises what’s happening and he steps in front of me, “He’s not going to touch you love. Look away please.”
I’m doing as he says, closing my eyes and feeling a familiar gust of wind as Kol uses his vampire speed. There’s the sound of a neck snapping, unmistakable in its finality, and then Kol’s hands are on my face, his voice soft, “You’re safe now.” I open my eyes, my back to the body and Kol’s gaze is gentle and protective, his thumbs caressing my cheeks as his cognac eyes scan me over as if checking for any injuries and finding none. I try to thank him but my voice is still too shaky so I do the next best thing, surging forwards and wrapping my arms around the original vampire, catching him off guard.
Kol’s arms eventually wrap around me in return, strong and secure and I feel so safe in his embrace. His chest is firm against mine and I can’t help but wonder what it would be like to feel a heartbeat under my ear. I’m burying my face in the crook of his neck, inhaling his scent of earthy spice and leather and I can feel a sense of calm wash over me. His embrace is warm and protective, like he’s shielding me against the word and I know something about the way I feel for him has changed. He’s no longer the wild Mikaelson who keeps trying to kill Matt and has caused Elena and Jeremy so many problems. No, he’s something more to me as I cling onto him, not wanting to let go as he hand strokes my hair soothingly and he’s whispering, “Come on sweetheart, let’s get you home.”
Reluctantly I’m letting him go, suddenly feeling empty and the cold hits me despite my thick jeans and fluffy sweater. A small gasp leaving me when Kol places his leather jacket over my shoulders and he’s flashing me a somewhat shy smile before he holds his arm out for me like a true gentleman. I take his arm, feeling a flutter in my chest as we start the walk back to mine, his jacket warm and comforting around me. The night air is chilly but Kol’s presence makes it bearable, his steps confident and sure as we navigate through the dark streets. I’m stealing glances at him from time to time, admiring the way his features are chiselled and sharp in the moonlight, his eyes are like pools of molten gold.
We’re arriving at my door too soon and I feel a sense of disappointment, not wanting him to leave me but I’m too awkward and shy to say it outright so I just let his arm go so I can fumble for my keys, Kol’s eyes on me the whole time and watching my every move as I swing my door open. I’m turning back to face him, the words slipping from my lips in a scared whisper, barely audible, “Don’t leave me.”
His vampire hearing don’t miss a syllable as he’s taking a step closer, hand coming up to cup my face as he speaks softly, “I won’t leave you, love.” There’s something in the way he says it and the way those eyes flit across my face, lingering on my lips for a second or two longer than normal that has my heart fluttering and the soft smirk on his face lets me know he hears it. It’s a little unnerving seeing this soft and gentle side of Kol as he’s usually ruthless and manipulative but there’s nothing but genuine concern in his gaze as he speaks again, “Why don’t I stay the night?”
“Please.” It comes out breathy and I swear his eyes darken a little, sending my heart fluttering crazily in my chest, his hand not having left my face yet. Neither of us seem to want to move apart enough to go inside despite the chill that’s seeping its way past Kol’s jacket.
That playful smirk slips onto his face as he leans in, warm breath ghosting over my cheek as he whispers, “Don’t worry love. I’ll keep you warm.” And with that he’s taking my hand and going to step inside when he seems to hit a barrier. Oh! Vampires can’t enter without being invited in but I’m giggling too much to be able to welcome him in, the way he stands with his hands on his hips and eyebrows raised with an amused look on his face as he waits. It takes a moment or two to compose myself enough to invite him, gesturing for him to enter as I say, “Come on in Kol.”
He strides in with easy confidence, eyes flickering around the room as he takes in his surroundings. I follow him, feeling a strange mix of excitement and apprehension as this is the first time a vampire has been inside my house and I don’t really know what to expect as I’ve always gone to their places. But this Is Kol, it feels different somehow. He’s not like any other vampire I know. I’ve heard stories of how ruthless and selfish Kol can be but it’s a little hard to picture it while he’s moving around my living room, taking it all in with an innocent curiosity. I can’t help the twinge of nervousness as I hang up his jacket and toe my shoes off by the front door after closing it behind us.
“Are you tired sweetheart?” Kol’s asking, eyes softer in the light of small lamp by the sofa. I’m shaking my head, trying to shake off the nerves as I move to sit on my sofa, patting the spot next to me which he takes without a question, turning his body towards me, “You’re nervous?”
“I’ve heard so much about you and…” I take a deep breath, Kol not saying a word to let me finish talking but I can see the way his face falls a little, expecting me to say something bad, so I reach over and cup his face in my hand. His stubble grazing my palm as I speak, “But I’m not sure I believe it all.”
He’s shifting closer, face suddenly very close to mine as he asks, “You don’t?” His face is so open and innocent the air leaves my lungs and I’m shaking my head, caressing his cheek softly as I marvel at how soft his skin is below my hand, “Do you trust me?”
“Y-yes.” My voice is breathy whisper and his hands are gripping the back of my thighs, pulling me onto his lap in smooth movement. My heart races as I straddle him, but I’m not sure it actually has stopped racing since he found me, his eyes never leaving mine as he pulls me closer, lips hovering just inches from mine. He lets out a barely there ‘good’, breath warm against my skin before he’s closing the distance between us, lips meeting mine in a soft and tender kiss that has shivers running down my spine. It’s like electricity between us, the way our bodies press together, his arms holding me close as we explore each other’s lips. I’m lost in the moment, all my fears and worries melting away as Kol’s lips move expertly against mine, hands roaming over my back under my sweater.
I take a risk and run my tongue against his bottom lip, feeling him smile into the kiss but he’s parting his lips for me. My fingers find their way into his hair, pulling him closer and hearing him moaning softly as our tongues fight for dominance. His hands are slipping lower, cupping my backside and pulling my hips flush against his so I can feel how hard he is beneath me and the a thrill of excitement rushes through me but I’m having to break the kiss.
Kol’s shifting our weight, laying me back on the couch and leaning over me. He’s kissing me breathless again, lips soft yet demanding and the gentle drag of his fingertips down my sides under my sweater has arousal pooling between my legs. I don’t want this to end but he’s pulling away too soon, eyes intense as he takes me in, leaning on his elbows and hand brushing over my cheek lovingly.
“As much as I want to do this, I want to do right by you love.” He says, voice low and husky, “I don’t wan to take advantage of you lovely, we should head to bed and we can talk everything through in the morning.” His words both reassuring and disappointing but I know he’s right. I’m nodding, leaning into his touch and kissing his palm before letting him climb off of me and help me to my feet so I can lead the way to the bedroom. He’s tugging on my arm lightly, “I can sleep on the couch-“ I’m gripping the front of his shirt and yanking him into another kiss, silencing his stupidity and feeling him smile into it as he reciprocates before we’re parting. His arms still wrapped around me, “Okay then lead the way love.” Kol nods, tone lace with a hint of mischief as she squeezes my arse.
I can’t help but laugh as I lead him to the bedroom, feeling a warmth spread through me at the thought of having Kol in my bed. I’m quick to kick my jeans off and slip into a loose teeshirt with my back to Kol while I slip out of my bra before I’m practically diving into the bed. The original vampire knows exactly what he’s doing when he takes his time with every layer of clothing.
As he unbuttons his shirt, I’m mesmerised by the muscles in his chest and arms, wondering what every dip and ridge would feel like under my tongue. The fabric of his shirt slides off his shoulders to reveal the smooth skin of his back and my fingers are itching to tee the contours of his muscles and I notice the freckles dotted over his back. Then he’s hooking his thumbs into the waistband of his jeans and slides them down his hips, showing a tantalising silver of skin. My eyes drink in the sight of his toned legs and the way his boxers cling to his hips. When he turns to face me I can’t help but let out a soft gasp at the sight of his chiselled abs and defied chest.
Kol catches my gaze and smirks, clearly aware of the effects he’s having on me and I can feel my face flush as he crawls into the bed with me. His lips finding my neck and he’s biting a hickey just below my jaw, drawing a soft sound from me before he’s kissing the slight sting better then pulling us down. I let him manhandle me so we’re cuddling closely. His warm skin against mine as he wraps an arm around my waist and nuzzles into my hair. The feel of his body against mine is intoxicating and I can feel my heart rate picking up as I snuggle closer to him, content with laying here with him and feeling his fingers trace lazy patterns over my skin until I’m drifting off.
*
I’m awoken by the bedroom door flying open and Caroline’s familiar voice breaks through the haze of sleep as I groggily open my eyes to see her standing in the bedroom doorway, eyes bugging out of her head as she exclaims, “Kol?! Why the hell is Kol in your bed?” Her voice laced with disbelief and annoyance. I know it’s not annoyance towards me personally, she’s just having a bad time with her feelings for Klaus now so I guess seeing me with Klaus’ younger brother isn’t helping her case.
Before I can even respond Kol is groaning softly, moving so he’s wrapping his arms around my waist and nose nuzzling against the skin of the back of my neck as a pillow is aimed in Caroline’s direction, “Piss off Caroline.”
She looks angry, that familiar and well known Caroline glare slipping onto her face and I can hear her heels clicking on the floor before the duvet is yanked off of us as she snap, “No. Up, now.” I’m groaning as the cool air hits my skin and I can feel Kol shifting behind me, grumbling something incoherent under his breath. Caroline is still standing there, arms crossed over her chest as he taps her foot impatiently and I can feel the tension I the room as Kol reluctantly detangles himself from me and drags himself into a sitting position.
“Can you give us a damn minute. Close the bedroom door and Y/N will be out in a moment.” Kol steels her with a glare which Caroline rivals before her eyes flit to me when I place a gentle hand on her arm. She’s hesitating until I send her a reassuring smile, silently thanking her for looking out for me but also silently begging her to leave us alone. She lets out a small huff, glancing between me and Kol before turning on her heels and leaving the room but not without letting the bedroom door slam behind her as she goes to wait in the living room.
Kol is flopping back down, hands finding their way to my hips to pull me onto his lap so I’m straddling before those oh so gentle hands trail up my sides until he’s cupping my cheeks, thumb rubbing across my bottom lip softly as he asks, “You don’t regret this?”
“Oh hell no.” I chuckle softly before leaning down and kissing him, gasping when he rolls us over so I’m under his strong body, one of his hands splayed on my thigh as he guides me to wrap that leg wrap around his waist as he deeps the kiss. It’s not fuelled by lust or passion, just sweet and loving, each movement of our lips and the way our tongues dance together a declaration of our feels for each other. Kol’s hands trail up my sides, caressing every inch of skin as he pours all his emotions into the kiss until we have to pull back. I think any oxygen left in my lungs leaves me when I meet his gaze, so much love in his eyes. I know the future is uncertain and that there are definitely going to be obstacles in our way but I don’t care for any of that. As long as Kol keeps looking at me the way he is, I would walk through fire for him.
“Barbie awaits, love. I should let you go talk to her before she stakes me.”
“Yes! Yes I will!”
The sacred soul
Kol Mikaelson x female character
When a young newly turned vampire seeks out the Mikaelson’s as it turns out she has a special connection to Kol
Warnings: Mentions of blood
Word count: 5620
Tumblr media
It was a middle of the night in the French quarters of New Orleans as I wanted around looking for a nice meal as i haven’t eaten in a while as I stumble into the compound of the infamous Mikaelson family as you looked around in the compound when a thick English accent was heard from the balcony which made you look up at the dark haired original vampire as he had a slight smirk on his face.
“Can I help you with anything darling?” He said with a continuing smirk on his face as you tried your best to suppress the veins under eyes that was clearly displaying your enormous hunger that you currently felt.
As he walked close to you, you could smell the blood running through his veins as he approached you and just started chuckling at you as the veins under eyes returned as you tried to restrain yourself from jumping teeth first on him to the best of your abilities, that was until he did something he was very soon gonna regret you thought to yourself, but then again he’s the original one out of you two, so you couldn’t really do much harm even if you wanted to.
“Aww is someone a little hungry? Want some of this?” Kol said as he proceeded to bite into his wrist as the blood started running down his arm as he proceeded to reach out the arm for you as you had your eyes glued onto it just long enough for you to almost run to him and start feeding as he pulled his arm back and started drying it away again as you simply looked at him with nothing but a huge blood lust as you wanted to rip his head off seeing how the concrete had small drops of blood on it from his arm as you nearly growled at him when you heard another more mature and sophisticated voice come from the other end of the balcony.
“Little brother, don’t be such a menace to the her, that is not how we treat a lady” He said as he lightly scolded his younger brother. It was another original vampire, he walked over to join his brother as he looked at me as you could smell the blood in veins as well.
“Darling, I apologize for my brother’s behavior, my names Elijah and this is Kol how long have you been a vampire?” Elijah asked sensing your hunger as he rolled up the sleeve on his left arm.
“A few weeks, but something doesn’t feel right. I don’t know what’s happening to me” you answered the slightly older vampire as he was about to bite his wrist when Kol stopped him as he went about to bite his own wrist again when Elijah stopped him as he heard something as the demeanor in his face changed.
“Kol, wait.” He said turning his attention to his younger brother.
“What is your name, darling?” Elijah asked moving his gaze to the young girl.
“My name is Skylar” you said looking at Elijah and Kol trying to control your lust for hunger.
“Kol, brother. Get her inside, the night-walkers are still out here” Elijah said ever so protective as he guided you over to Kol who took you into his arms as he walked you inside.
“What is all this noise about? We’re someone trying to get some rest here” Klaus said as he emerged from his room as well and came walking towards you and Kol as you leaned into him more when you made eye contact with Klaus. You didn’t know why, but you were a bit intimidated by Klaus.
“I see you got a new little friend little brother, what’s your name love?” Klaus asked smiling as Kol held you closer to him as he looked at his brother.
“Her name is Skylar, now if you will excuse us Nik, we have some business to attend to” Kol said taking your hand walking past his brother with you as he led you up to his room where we prepared his wrist and bit himself once again.
“Here, drink” he said as he reached his wrist as you looked at him making sure he wasn’t teasing you this time again as you took it and slightly took his wrist up to your mouth as you started drinking from him like you haven’t had a single drop in weeks which to be honest wasn’t exactly a lie either.
At first Kol didn’t feel much and just let you full fill your thirst until he started feeling a bit squishy and tried to take his away his arm back when you growled at him grabbing onto his wrist as you kept drinking from him.
“Skylar, I think this is enough. Why don’t you take a break” He suggested when Elijah came walking by coincidentally and happened to hear his brother’s desperation as he hurries into his rescue and practically rips you away from Kol and holding you firmly as Kol sits down on a chair before he becomes too squishy from the blood loss as you calmed down again as you look at Kol.
“I’m so sorry Kol. I never meant to hurt you” you said as your emotions were now on overdrive as Elijah let go off you and Kol approached you.
“Darling, you didn’t hurt me. You have my word” Kol said as he tried to reassure you as he took you into his arms and politely asked Elijah to leave his room as he thanked him.
Kol lifted you over to the bed and placed you down on it gently as you gave him gently kisses on his wrist as you proceeded with laying your head on his chest as he had an arm around you as you dozed off in his embrace for now.
“What’s with Kol’s new little friend?” Klaus asked as he saw Elijah walk out from their younger brother’s room, closing the door quietly behind him.
“It’s nothing of your concern Niklaus, perhaps your focus would be better placed with your daughter than lurking around in our brother’s business.” Elijah explained to other younger brother as Klaus just smiled and took his hands up in defense.
“Well brother, it’s quite hard to put your focus elsewhere when she can be bloody heard all over the compound” Klaus said as Elijah just shook his head as they parted ways and went into their respective rooms again as peace yet fell over the Mikaelson compound again.
The next morning, sun light was shining brightly through the curtains of Kol’s room as he slowly woke up and gained his sense and looked to his right as he saw you laying peacefully asleep next to him. He removed a strand of hair from your face as he couldn’t bare to wake you.
As Kol lay there, watching you sleep, he couldn't help but feel a strange sense of protectiveness. Despite his mischievous nature, something about you had stirred an emotion he hadn't felt in centuries. He gently slid out of the bed, careful not to disturb your slumber, and quietly left the room.
Downstairs, Klaus was already up, pacing the living room with a brooding look. He glanced up as Kol descended the staircase. "Ah, the young lover boy awakens. How is our guest?" Klaus's tone was mocking, but there was a hint of curiosity.
Kol rolled his eyes. "She's fine, Nik. Just a bit overwhelmed. New vampires often are."
Elijah, ever the peacemaker, entered the room with a book in hand. "Kol, we need to ensure she adjusts properly. Her thirst was almost uncontrollable last night."
Kol nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. "I know, Elijah. I'll take care of her. She needs guidance."
Klaus smirked, leaning against the doorway. "Guidance? Or are you just enjoying playing the hero for a pretty girl?"
Kol shot him a warning look. "It's not like that, Nik. She needs our help."
“How can we be sure she is who she claims to be?” Klaus asked looking at his brothers with a smug smile.
“Now what’s that supposed to mean? Of course she is who says, Nik don’t be ridiculous” Kol said annoyed by his brother’s accusations.
"Kol, brother, how is the girl?" Elijah asked, gesturing for Klaus to be quiet, closing his book and giving his full attention to his brother.
"Resting. She was absolutely ravenous last night," Kol replied, a hint of concern in his voice. "I haven't seen such hunger in a newborn in a long time. It's almost as if she's been neglected."
Elijah nodded thoughtfully. "It's not uncommon for newly turned vampires to struggle with controlling their hunger. But there’s something more to her, isn’t there? Did she mention who turned her?"
Kol shook his head. "No, she didn’t say much about her past. Just that she's been a vampire for a few weeks. She seems... different, Elijah. There's a fire in her eyes, a strength that's unusual for someone so new to this life."
Elijah leaned back against the wall considering Kol's words. "We'll have to keep an eye on her. If she's truly as unique as you say, she could either be a great ally or a dangerous threat.” Elijah added to the conversation.
“May I inquire with something, you see while you were busy playing into her tricks and games, I did some digging with a little help from our dear sister Rebekah” Klaus started as Elijah sighed loudly at his brother.
“Niklaus….” Elijah said as Klaus continued to speak his mind.
“Brothers, allow me. She was sent here by the very wolf boy from Mystic Falls, who seeks revenge against me and this is his way of getting under my skin, our skin” Klaus said as Elijah considered his words carefully as whereas Kol wasn’t buying any of it.
“Come on, Elijah, you saw her when she came in here last night. You really think she’s on some revenge mission carrying out some big plan set by Tyler Lockwood? She’s not like that” Kol asked his older brother in disbelief as Klaus just started laughing as Kol and Elijah looked at him.
“You’ve known the girl for less than a day and already you put your faith in her” Klaus said his distrust in Skylar crystal clear.
“Niklaus, Kol is right. I don’t believe she is our enemy. For now, we should focus on helping her adjust to her new reality." Elijah added in.
Kol looked at his brother and nodded in agreement, but his thoughts were still with you, sleeping peacefully in his bed. He couldn’t shake the feeling that you were destined to be a part of their lives, for better or worse.
You woke up to the soft morning light filtering through the curtains, feeling more rested than you had in days. As you slowly opened your eyes, you realized you were alone in Kol’s room. The events of the previous night came rushing back, and you felt a pang of guilt for having lost control.
Before you could dwell on it, the door creaked open, and Kol stepped in, carrying a tray with a glass of blood. He smiled warmly when he saw you awake.
"Good morning. I brought you something to help with the hunger," he said, placing the tray on the bedside table.
"Thank you," you murmured, taking the glass and sipping it gratefully. The blood was fresh, and you could feel your strength returning with each sip.
Kol sat down on the edge of the bed, watching you intently. "How are you feeling, love?"
"Better," you admitted, setting the empty glass back on the tray. "I'm sorry about last night, Kol. I didn’t mean to—"
He held up a hand to stop you. "There's no need to apologize, darling. It's only natural for a newborn to struggle with their hunger. We'll help you learn to control it."
You nodded, feeling a wave of relief wash over you. For the first time since you had turned, you felt like you might actually have a chance at surviving this new life.
"Thank you, Kol." you said sincerely.
He smiled, reaching out to gently tuck a stray lock of hair behind your ear. "You're one of us now. We'll look after you."
As you looked into his eyes, you felt a flicker of hope. Maybe, just maybe, you had found a place where you belonged.
---
Over the next few days, Kol and his brothers worked tirelessly to help you adjust. You spent hours with Elijah, who taught you the history and intricacies of vampire lore, instilling in you the importance of control and discretion. Klaus, despite his initial skepticism, offered you tips on navigating the supernatural world, his tough love approach masked by a surprising patience when you struggled.
Kol, however, was your anchor. He guided you through the physical aspects of your transformation, teaching you to hone your heightened senses and control your newfound strength. The bond between you grew stronger with each passing day, his protectiveness and genuine care a constant reassurance.
One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting the mansion in a warm, golden glow, Kol suggested a walk through the nearby woods. You hesitated, the memory of your last uncontrollable hunger still fresh in your mind, but his gentle insistence won you over.
As you strolled through the forest, the sounds of nature heightened in your ears, Kol spoke softly, his voice a soothing presence. "You're doing exceptionally well, you know. Far better than I expected."
You smiled, a mix of pride and humility in your expression. "I couldn't have done it without you. All of you."
He stopped, turning to face you, his eyes searching yours. "There's something special about you. I felt it the moment I saw you. It's not just your strength, but your spirit. You're meant for something greater."
Before you could respond, a rustling in the bushes drew your attention. Kol's posture shifted instantly, his body tense and alert. A figure emerged from the shadows, a tall man with an air of authority and a hint of menace in his gaze.
"Ah, Kol Mikaelson. It's been a long time," the man said, his voice smooth yet chilling.
Kol's eyes narrowed, his protective instincts flaring. "Lucien. What are you doing here?"
Lucien's gaze shifted to you, a predatory smile playing on his lips. "I heard about the new addition to your little family. Thought I'd come and see for myself."
You felt a shiver run down your spine as Lucien's eyes bore into you. Kol stepped in front of you, his stance defensive. "Stay away from her, Lucien."
Lucien chuckled, a low, sinister sound. "Relax, Kol. I'm not here to cause trouble. Just curious about what makes her so special."
Kol's jaw tightened. "Curiosity killed the cat, Lucien. Remember that."
Lucien raised his hands in mock surrender. "Alright, alright. No need to get testy. I'll be on my way. But remember, Kol, there's more at play here than you realize. Keep a close eye on your new friend."
With that, Lucien melted back into the shadows, leaving an uneasy silence in his wake. Kol turned to you, his expression a mixture of concern and determination. "We need to be careful. Lucien is dangerous, and if he's interested in you, it means something is brewing."
You nodded, your heart pounding. "What do we do?"
Kol took your hand, his grip firm and reassuring. "We stick together. No matter what."
As you walked back to the compound, you couldn't shake the feeling that your presence had stirred something in the supernatural world, something that could change everything.
As you entered the compound you were greeted by Klaus who was talking to Marcel and Davina, as Kol’s look locked on the young witch Davina, who also happened to be a former lover of his that he hadn’t seen in a while.
However your presence drew attention to Klaus as he turned to face the two of you as Kol had to tell him about your meet with Lucien, but he couldn’t get his eyes of Davina for some reason when Klaus finally managed to snap him out of his so called trance.
Skylar looked up at Kol as if she could feel the deep and intense connection between them when she suddenly this weird surge of energy going through almost as a short Timelapse of Kol and Devina’s relationship played in front of her eyes while Kol was holding her hand as she became disconnected from the world around her, completely oblivious to the conversation going on between Klaus, Kol, Devina and Marcel.
When Devina noticed something was off about Skylar and said Kol’s name to get him to look at her as Klaus became interested as well despite his suspicions when you came back to reality and your legs gave out beneath you as Kol caught you before you hit the ground.
“Elijah, Freya!” Klaus yelled as they soon were rushing down alarmed when Elijah saw Skylar on the ground in Kol’s arms.
"Kol, what happened?" Elijah's voice was calm but laced with urgency as he knelt beside you.
Kol shook his head, his eyes wide with worry. "I'm not sure. We were just talking, and then she had some sort of vision or... I don't know, Elijah. One moment she was fine, and the next..."
Freya joined them, her expression equally concerned. She placed her hand on your forehead, closing her eyes as she concentrated. "There's a powerful energy around her. Something ancient and potent. It's like she's tapped into some kind of... magical conduit."
Kol, his impatience evident, demanded, "What does that mean for her? Is she in danger?"
Freya's eyes opened, meeting Kol's with a mixture of confusion and certainty. "Not immediate danger, but we need to understand what just happened. She's linked to something or someone—perhaps even to the ancestral magic of New Orleans itself."
Marcel, who had been observing silently, spoke up. "Davina, you might be able to help. You have a strong connection to the magic here."
Davina nodded, stepping closer. She extended her hand towards you, her eyes filled with a determined resolve. "I'll see what I can do."
As Davina began to chant softly, you felt a warmth spreading through your body. The fragmented images that had overwhelmed you earlier started to coalesce into something more coherent. You saw flashes of Kol and Davina's past, their love and their pain, intertwined with glimpses of your own future—a future fraught with challenges but also brimming with potential.
The vision ended as abruptly as it began, leaving you gasping for breath.
Kol's grip on your hand tightened, grounding you as you came back to reality. "Skylar, what did you see?"
"Kol," you began, your voice trembling slightly. You took a deep breath, your voice shaky but resolute. "I saw your past with Davina,”
"I don't know what just happened, but I felt everything. Your pain, your love, your loss. It was like I was there, living it all with you." You continued.
Kol nodded, his expression softening. "I felt it too, Skylar. And it only confirms what I've known all along. You are special, more than any of us realized."
Freya cleared her throat, drawing everyone's attention. “If these visions are true, we need to prepare. Lucien’s appearance might be more than just a coincidence.”
Klaus nodded, his eyes steely with determination. “Then we will prepare. We need to fortify our alliances and understand Skylar’s connection to this magic.”
Kol helped you to your feet, his eyes never leaving yours. “Whatever happens, we’ll face it together.” He said as you leaned into him and he held you close.
“Skylar, if you will allow me. I can perform a spell to maybe tap into whatever it is you seem to hold” Freya suggested. She looked at up at Kol as she hesitated a bit.
Elijah exchanged a worried glance with Klaus. “This connection between you and Kol is the key. We need to explore it further, but with care. Skylar’s well-being is our top priority.”
Freya moved closer to Skylar, her voice gentle. “I promise, we’ll take it slow. But we need to uncover the truth. For all our sakes.”
Kol’s eyes softened as he looked at Skylar, his hand brushing a strand of hair from her face. “We’ll get through this together, Skylar. You’re not alone.”
Skylar nodded, feeling a renewed sense of determination as Kol and Freya led them into her study soon followed by the curious eyes of Elijah and Klaus.
As they entered the room they were faced with a protective circle that Freya created and inside the circle Skylar and Kol sat on their knees across from each other.
Skylar, still shaken from the vision, looked at Kol with a mixture of gratitude and uncertainty. She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself as she turned to face Kol as she placed her hand on the side of his cheek.
“Trust me Kol” she said as they both closed their eyes as she showed Kol what exactly she experienced as Elijah and Freya shared a confused glance with each other as Klaus’ distrust in Skylar came forward.
“Now what is this? Are we sure we can trust her?” Klaus asked in suspiciousness over Skylar as Elijah led him out of the room.
“Niklaus, take it easy. She came to us for a reason. She came to Kol for a reason” Elijah said calmly trying to reason with Klaus who didn’t seem to buy any of it.
“She’s currently infiltrating Kol’s mind, how can we be sure she wasn’t sent by someone?” Klaus said as Elijah went quiet as they looked back into the room at Skylar and Kol as Kol grabbed Skylar’s other hand as Skylar started bleeding from her nose as Elijah ignored Klaus’ question for now and went back into the room looking concerned at Freya.
“Freya what’s happening?” He asked looking at sister concern etched on his face and Freya, usually composed and knowledgeable, was at a loss. The unexpected nosebleed from Skylar had thrown everyone off balance. “I… I don’t know,” she admitted, her brow furrowed in worry. “This isn’t like any magic I’ve encountered before. It’s as if…” She trailed off, uncertain how to articulate her thoughts.
As tension mounted in the room, Klaus’s suspicion hung heavy like a thundercloud. His distrust of Skylar’s intentions was palpable, casting a shadow over the fragile peace that had momentarily settled among them.
“Elijah, this is madness,” Klaus exclaimed, his voice tinged with a blend of anger and concern. “We can’t afford to be naive. Lucien’s cunning knows no bounds. We must consider every possibility.”
Elijah, ever the diplomat, sought to diffuse the situation before it escalated further.
“Quiet, Niklaus” Elijah said as Klaus listened to him and remained silent for now.
“Freya, is there you can do?” Elijah asked as Klaus’ impatience and suspicion clear as he paced the room, his eyes flicking between Skylar and Kol with distrust.
Freya hurried to Skylar’s side, placing a hand on her shoulder. “I… I’m not sure what’s happening,” she admitted, her brow furrowing in concentration. “Their connection is stronger than I anticipated.”
Elijah’s gaze hardened as he assessed the situation. “Kol,” he called out firmly, his voice cutting through the room. “Release her. Now.”
But Kol remained unresponsive, his grip on Skylar tightening. His expression was a mix of protectiveness and confusion, as if caught between worlds. Blood continued to trickle from Skylar’s nose, a sign of the strain on her fragile form.
“Enough, Kol!” Elijah’s tone grew urgent. “You’re endangering her!”
Freya’s hands moved deftly, weaving a spell of separation. “I’m trying to break their connection,” she murmured, her voice strained with effort. “But it’s not working.”
Klaus, unable to contain his anxiety, approached cautiously. “What did she show you, Kol?” His voice softened slightly, betraying his concern for his brother’s well-being amidst his suspicion of Skylar.
Skylar’s breathing grew shallow, her face pale as she struggled against the overwhelming force of the connection. Finally, with a surge of power, Freya managed to sever the link. Kol staggered back, releasing Skylar who collapsed into Elijah’s arms, unconscious and drained.
As Elijah tended to Skylar, checking her vitals, he scooped her up and took her to Kol’s room placing her down on the bed, feeding her blood from his wrist.
In study Klaus turned to Kol with a mixture of relief and lingering distrust. “What did you see?” he demanded, his voice tinged with urgency.
Kol rubbed his temples wearily, his eyes haunted by what he had witnessed. “Darkness,” he murmured. “A darkness that’s hunting her, consuming her.”
Freya’s brow furrowed as he processed Kol’s words. “Lucien,” he concluded grimly. “He’s behind this.”
Klaus clenched his fists, his resolve hardening. “Then we find him,” he declared, his voice resonating with authority. “Before he harms anyone else.”
Kol, still shaken, glanced at Freya. "It's more than just Lucien," he whispered, his voice barely audible. "There's something ancient, something primordial tied to her. It's like she's a beacon, drawing it towards her."
Freya, her face pale with worry, nodded. "We need to find a way to protect her. Whatever this darkness is, it seems relentless."
Elijah returned to the study, his expression grave. "She’s stable for now, but whatever Kol saw, it’s taking a toll on her. We need more information if we’re to keep her safe."
Klaus paced the room, frustration evident in his every step. "This is exactly what Lucien wants. To divide us, to weaken us. We need to be proactive. We can’t wait for him to make his next move."
Freya interjected, "Kol, can you recall anything specific about the darkness? Any clues that might help us understand it better?"
Kol closed his eyes, struggling to piece together the fragments of his vision. "There were symbols... ancient runes. And a voice. It spoke of an awakening, of reclaiming what was lost."
Freya's eyes widened. "Runes? That might be the key. If we can decipher them, we might understand what we’re dealing with."
Klaus nodded, his determination unwavering. "Then we start there. Freya, see what you can find about these runes. Elijah and I will tighten security around the compound. No one comes or goes without our knowledge."
Kol looked at his siblings, gratitude and resolve in his eyes. "Thank you. All of you. Skylar means more to me than I can express. We can’t let this darkness consume her."
Freya placed a reassuring hand on Kol’s shoulder. "We won’t. We’ll figure this out together."
As the family dispersed to their tasks, Kol went up to his room and stayed by Skylar’s side, holding her hand and whispering promises of protection and love as Skylar stirred slightly in her sleep, her face contorting as if in the throes of a nightmare. Kol tightened his grip on her hand, his heart aching at her distress. He whispered soothing words, hoping to reach her through the darkness.
Meanwhile, Freya dove into her research, poring over ancient texts and tomes that lined the shelves of her study. She meticulously searched for anything resembling the runes Kol had described.
As night fell, Freya’s patience was rewarded. She found a reference to the runes Kol had mentioned. Her fingers traced the symbols on the aged parchment, her breath catching as she realized their significance.
Freya rushed to find her brothers, bursting into the courtyard with the ancient text in hand. “I found something,” she announced, her voice filled with urgency. “These runes are tied to an old prophecy. They speak of an ancient force, one that predates even our kind. It’s said to be drawn to powerful beings, using them to anchor itself in our world.”
Elijah frowned. “And Skylar is the anchor?”
Freya nodded. “It seems so. The darkness Kol saw isn’t just after her; it’s trying to use her to break through into our realm.”
Klaus’s eyes darkened with resolve. “Then we need to sever that connection. How do we stop this prophecy from coming true?”
Freya hesitated. “There’s a ritual, but it’s risky. It requires immense power and perfect execution. If we fail, it could kill her.”
Kol, who had joined them upon hearing Freya’s discovery, stepped forward. “We don’t have a choice. We’ll do whatever it takes to save her. What do we need for the ritual?”
Freya listed the ingredients and artifacts required, each item more obscure and dangerous to obtain than the last. “We’ll need to gather these quickly. The longer Skylar remains connected to this force, the stronger it becomes.”
Klaus, always the strategist, quickly devised a plan. “Elijah, you and Kol focus on obtaining the artifacts. Freya and I will work on the ritual preparation. We move swiftly and carefully. No mistakes.”
As the family united in their mission, the air around them buzzed with a sense of urgency and determination. They knew the road ahead was fraught with danger, but their bond and love for Skylar fueled their resolve.
Kol returned to Skylar’s side, determination etched into his features. He brushed a strand of hair from her face, whispering, “Hold on, love. We’ll bring you back from this. I promise.” As he kissed her forehead.
As Kol sat by Skylar’s side, the rest of the family moved with precision, each member driven by the collective resolve to save her. Freya and Klaus prepared the ritual space, gathering ancient texts and carefully setting the necessary artifacts. Their movements were synchronized, a testament to their years of working together against supernatural threats.
Elijah and Kol embarked on their mission to obtain the rare ingredients required for the ritual. Their journey took them through the darkest corners of New Orleans, from secretive witches to ancient cemeteries, each step bringing them closer to the goal but also closer to danger. Kol’s mind was only half-focused on their task; the other half was with Skylar, hoping she could hold on just a little longer.
Back at the compound, Skylar’s condition worsened. Her breaths came in shallow gasps, her body trembling as the ancient force continued to drain her. As Freya performed another small but quick spell to make her stronger as Klaus watched over her despite his initial doubts with a mixture of frustration and helplessness and despite his fears, he trusted in Freya’s ability to pull through. When Klaus decided to give Elijah a call updating them on Skylar’s condition.
Elijah answered his phone, the urgency in Klaus’s voice sending a shiver down his spine. “Niklaus, we’re making progress, but we need more time. Just hold on.”
“Hurry,” Klaus urged. “She doesn’t have much longer.”
Elijah hung up, his resolve hardening. “Kol, we need to move faster. Skylar’s deteriorating.”
Kol nodded, his determination renewed. “I know a witch who might have the final ingredient we need. Follow me.”
As they raced through the shadowed streets, Kol led Elijah to an old, decrepit house on the outskirts of the city. The air was thick with the scent of herbs and old magic. They knocked on the door, and an elderly witch named Agnes answered, her eyes narrowing with suspicion.
“We need your help,” Kol pleaded, explaining their dire situation.
Agnes hesitated, but seeing the desperation in their eyes, she relented. “Very well, but this magic is ancient and unpredictable. Use it wisely.”
Back at the compound, Freya and Klaus completed their preparations, the ritual space glowing with a soft, ethereal light. Skylar’s condition had stabilized slightly, thanks to Freya’s temporary spell, but it was clear they were running out of time.
Elijah and Kol burst through the door, carrying the final ingredient. “We got it,” Elijah announced, handing the rare herb to Freya.
Freya nodded, quickly incorporating the final piece into the ritual setup. “Take positions. This will require all of our strength and we only have one chance to do this.”
Klaus, Elijah, Kol, and Freya formed a circle around Skylar, holding each others hands, so that she can channel their power for the ritual. Freya began to chant, her voice resonating with power as the room filled with a blinding light.
Skylar’s body convulsed as the ancient force within her fought back, resisting the ritual’s power, Kol's heart breaking at her pain.
The ritual intensified, the light growing brighter and the air vibrating with energy. Freya’s chanting grew louder, her voice merging with the echoes of ancient magic. The symbols on the artifacts glowed, pulsating with a rhythm that matched Skylar’s heartbeat.
Suddenly, a dark shadow erupted from Skylar’s body, writhing and twisting as it fought to break free. Freya’s voice wavered, but she held firm, directing the power of the ritual towards the shadow. Klaus, Elijah, and Kol poured their strength into the circle, their combined will forcing the darkness back.
With a final, piercing scream, the shadow dissipated, dissolving into the air like mist. Skylar’s body went limp, her breathing shallow but steady. The light in the room faded, leaving the Mikaelsons standing in a quiet, dimly lit space.
Freya collapsed into Elijah's arms, exhausted but relieved. “It’s done. The connection is severed.”
Kol rushed to Skylar’s side, cradling her in his arms. “Skylar, can you hear me?” he whispered, his voice choked with emotion.
Skylar’s eyes fluttered open, her gaze unfocused but alive. “Kol…” she murmured weakly, a faint smile playing on her lips.
Klaus, Elijah, and Freya gathered around them, the weight of their victory settling over them. “We did it,” Klaus said, his voice filled with both relief and determination. “But this is just the beginning. We need to stay vigilant. Lucien won’t stop here.”
Freya nodded, her expression serious. “We’ll keep her safe. Whatever it takes.”
Elijah placed a reassuring hand on Kol’s shoulder. “She’s strong, Kol. And so are we. We’ll face whatever comes next together.”
Kol held Skylar close, his heart swelling with love and gratitude. “Thank you,” he whispered, looking at his family with newfound hope. “Thank you for saving her.”
As the Mikaelsons stood united, a sense of peace settled over them. They knew the road ahead would be fraught with challenges, but they also knew that together, they could overcome anything. Skylar’s life, their family’s bond, and their resolve to protect each other were the guiding lights that would lead them through the darkness.
Hiii 🫶🏼 I hope you're still up for doing an Elijah request! 🤗 I can't get this man out of my head haha
Soo it would be an idea where they met somewhere in Mystic Falls and immediately felt some bond between them, so it happens that they start falling in love (she's human but knows about vampires) but she's too afraid to get hurt so she also tries not to get too close to Elijah. One night he sees some stranger following her home from the Grill and even starts attacking her, Elijah is immediately there saving her and taking her home with him to treat her wounds (mostly some scratches) and he's just super worried. There she realizes that Elijah would never be the one hurting her and they finally share their feelings with a lot of kissing and cuddles afterwards and he holds her, telling how much she means to him.
Oh I hope this is not too weird at all 🙈❤️
Description: Upon meeting Elijah Mikaelson, the feelings start to come but in fear of being hurt, the reader decides to keep her walls up to protect herself. This changes after Elijah protects her after being attacked.
Warnings: fluff, small angst, physical assault (mild), she/her pronouns, maybe swearing?
*Requests are open, please send through as many requests as you want, check my character list and requesting rules.*
Thanks so much for making this request! I can never get sick of Elijah, this man is always on my mind and please feel free to request again if you wish :) I really enjoyed writing this, thank you again :D
First Person's POV
Tonight at the Grill was a ‘live acoustics’ night, some of the performers were good and others were quite frankly not that great. Bonnie, Elena and Caroline were off on the next big adventure for the vampiric save-the-day business and while I knew about all the vampires, witches, werewolves and all that extra fun stuff. Besides Matt, I was the only human in the group and somehow I was pushed aside to be kept ‘safe; despite Matt always being dragged into the whirlpool of drama even if he didn’t want to be.
“The music is wonderful for the atmosphere tonight, don’t you agree?” That voice would haunt my dreams, haunt my every thought, I couldn’t fathom how gentle and warm a voice could sound. I glanced to the side, shooting a polite smile to the impeccably dressed man and nodded in agreement.
“I do agree, I feel like I’m in like a cute little romance story, the warm lighting and the music-“ I cut myself short, realising I was babbling to a random stranger who more than likely did not care for my ideas and thoughts.
“I can see how you would see that.” Oh, gosh- those eyes! That smile! This man would haunt me forever, picture perfect and everything I would want in a man. I continued to share a polite smile with the man, fiddling with the straw in my chocolate milkshake and turned myself slightly to face the man a little better.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you…?” Realising that he was waiting for my name, I placed my drink down and took his hand.
“Y/N L/N” He softly cupped my hand, shaking it and proceeded to share his name.
“Elijah Mikaelson.” I wish I could’ve hidden my reaction better, my eyes went wide, and my smile flattened for a moment before I quickly made sure to continue to be nice and polite. Elijah carefully rested my head on the bar, took a small sip of whatever his drink was and gazed at me with a quizzical look.
“You know who I am…” His tone was neither harsh nor hurt, Elijah seemed to have suspected my knowledge of his name and he even seemed curious by the idea of my knowledge.
“I know of your brother Niklaus… Elena told me about you, I think she might have exaggerated a bit. You don’t seem like the antagonist she kinda painted you out to be. From what I’ve heard, you’re the nicer brother… the noble one and I'm sure first glances can be deceiving but… I don’t know- you don’t seem like a bad man.”  He briefly licked his lips, eyes shooting up to the ceiling and seemed to be contemplating his next moves.
“I suppose you know-“
“That you’re a…” I leaned closer to whisper so people passing by wouldn’t hear.
“An Original.”
“You don’t seem to be phased.”
“Team doppelgänger has built up my immunity to supernatural beings.” I let out a weak chuckle, cringing internally and turned my focus back on my drink. I wanted to keep speaking with him, I really did want to keep speaking with him but I knew the world that I happened to live in and I didn’t fancy the idea of being bait or hurt as collateral damage.
“It was really nice to meet you Elijah but I have to go.” He nodded, that handsome smile appearing once more, his actions made me gush and brought butterflies into my belly as he grabbed my jacket and assisted in placing it back on.
“I hope that you have a good evening, Y/N”
“Same to you Elijah.” He seemed to have a thought pop into his head, I stopped in my tracks, allowing for him to have the benefit of the doubt and give him the chance to speak his mind.
“May I have the pleasure of seeing you again?”
“Maybe… There’s always tomorrow.” I knew I had given myself away, I could feel my heart skip a beat, I’m sure he could hear it, his facial expression didn’t change but I could feel that he knew what I was feeling.
“Have a good evening,” I whispered, brushing past him to carry on my way.
+++++++
I had seen Elijah a couple of times since our first meeting, we had small conversations and I tried my best to conceal my heart, I didn't want to get close to this man despite enjoying his presence, his voice and the true appearance of his gentlemanly ways made me fall into a daydream greater than any story or dream I could ever have or read.
The next time I saw Elijah was three months after our first meeting, as I said we had multiple different meetings and they were all the greatest moments of my life despite how much I tried to protect my fragile heart. I had left my home for the park, I wanted to read outside of my home and get some fresh air away from the stuffiness of my bedroom. I rested the picnic blanket underneath a large tree, I read three chapters of my book before I felt a presence looming nearby, I placed the book to the side and stood up, surveying the area for a figure and jumped in my skin seeing Elijah approaching me.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to frighten you, may I join you?" I nodded, smiling at the man, watching as he unbuttoned his shirt and sat down with me on the picnic blanket. He gently picked my book up, staring at the cover with intrigue, I observed him with butterflies growing in my stomach, a blush wanting to form on my cheeks as I continued to drown in what was possibly a huge crush for the Original Vampire.
"Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi... I'm not sure I've heard of this one before."
"I doubt you would've, I don't exactly picture you reading a book like this?" He smiled, tilting his head slightly, a deep chuckle leaving his mouth and he handed me back the book.
"Why is that?"
"Well... I don't know, I picture you reading older books nothing from the late 20th century to the early 21st century." Elijah briefly nodded in agreement, I smiled proudly at my guess and fiddled with the tassels hanging off of my bookmark. The vampire took off his suit jacket and began rolling up the sleeves of his button-up, I bit the inside of my cheek, begging myself to remain calm and avoid giving away any kind of emotions being revealed.
"Enlighten me, will you though, please? What's it about?" I cleared my throat, leaning closer to him with joy forming, giddy that he was showing interest in something that I liked and enjoyed.
"It's the third book in the series, I've read it before, and this one is one of my favourites. Essentially the series is all about control some people have these powers and the leaders are trying to control these people. The relationship of the main characters is what I happen to enjoy the most about it, I love how Tahereh created their bond from..."
"Why did you stop?" Elijah gently questioned, his face furrowing in concern, I wanted to cringe but I forced the words out before I could let that show. Taking a deep breath, I turned my gaze back to him, scrunching my face up briefly and proceeded to explain to Elijah what was going through my head.
"Whenever I ramble on to the Salvatores and all that, it's clear that they don't care and I'm not wanting to force that onto you. I'm sorry." Elijah tutted, shaking his head and holding out his hand for me to take. Hesitating for a moment, I finally rested my hand in his, holding my breath for a moment and kept my eyes focused on him as he rested his other hand on top of mine.
"You do that too often, Y/N, I can see you trying to protect your heart and you have a wide range of information waiting to come out and you shut yourself down because you expect everyone else to do that. I hope you find someone... someone who makes you realise you don't need to do that."
"Could possibly end up being you, Elijah," I whispered.
+++++
When someone unknown came into Mystic Falls, it was always a concerning event, the vampires were always the most suspicious of strangers and most of the time they were typically right for not trusting the stranger. It was late when I left the grill tonight, Elijah was growing on my mind more and more, and I would be hit with a wave of memories at random moments.
"Up ahead, there's an alley to your right, walk down it. Try anything-"
"Okay... I understand." I whispered, complying as I walked a little quicker and turned down the alleyway. I cried out as I was instantly shoved against the wall, my head ached and the world spun around me, I bit back a sob as I hit the ground and hissed as the gravel bit into my skin. I kicked off my heels, not fancying a broken ankle and lept to my feet running towards the street but missed as the man tackled me to the ground and which resulted in blood slightly trickling down my forehead and more cuts forming against my skin.
It felt like something out of a vampire movie, I heard a whoosh and then a light thud. Elijah appeared, holding the man against the wall effortlessly with one hand and easily compelled the man to walk off and not commit any sort of crime again. I let out a few sobs as the pain sunk in and the adrenaline started to fade away.
Elijah swooped me into his arms, effortlessly taking me to his mansion and rested me down on his obnoxiously large bed. He crouched down, gently cupping my face in his hands, observing my facial features and swiftly disappeared somewhere before running back.
"Are you okay?" He questioned, focusing on grabbing the things from the first-aid kit to treat my wounds.
"I'm okay..." I whispered, hissing as he wiped an alcohol wipe across the graze on my palm and watched as he apologised profusely for inflicting any added pain onto me. Elijah was so attentive to my needs, he cleaned the blood and dirt away from my cuts and grazes. Covering them with bandaids, doing what he could to assist in caring for me. It was as he was lingering for a moment, observing my form that I realised that Elijah Mikaelson would never hurt me. He would never cause any harm to me, Elijah Mikaelson would protect me and I knew that I wouldn't need to worry any longer.
"You wouldn't hurt me..." I whispered, staring at the vampire as he grasped my face and held eye contact with me.
"Y/N L/N I would never dream of hurting you, you... you're perfect... Y/N you are the epitome of perfect, I haven't met someone as intelligent, kind, sweet, and funny in a long time. Y/N I love you and I hope that you'll allow-" I pushed myself closer to him, carefully cupping his face to kiss the man who had possessed my dreams too often.
"Elijah, please, never let me go, I can't keep guarding myself-"
"Shhh, I've got you." He kissed my forehead, pulling me into his arms and pushing himself to lay against the headboard of his bed. I inhaled, holding onto the warm and mesmerising smell of his cologne, I curled into his chest and hummed gently as he rested another kiss on my forehead.
I felt protected, Elijah was my guardian angel, and he made me feel warm and gooey. Made me giddy and the butterflies a constant swarm in my belly, I fiddled with his hands, staring at the family ring that rested on his finger and glanced to him as he pulled my face to meet his. I hummed as he rested a kiss against my lips, sucking in another deep breath and curling in closer as he strokes my hair, his touch comforting and loving.
"Can I stay here? Just in your arms? Where I'm safe and with you, you Elijah who looks after me and takes the time to listen and know me?" Elijah's smile made the butterflies come to life, my cheeks flushed red and his simple words reassured me for an infinity of time.
"Always and forever."
Summary: A baking adventure which includes a hot make-out sesh, a food fight and a whole lotta fluff and banter Pairing: Elijah Mikaelson x Fem!reader Prompt(s): Friends to lovers, "i can't believe you talked me into this.", "Stop moving and let me braid your hair." Warning: food fight, kissing, making out, sensual touching
REQUEST FORM II NAVIGATION
The kitchen is suffused with the delightful aroma of freshly baked cookies, and warmth  from the oven as Y/n bustles about humming a tune whilst preparing batches of chocolate chip cookies.
Elijah grins mischievously as he spots Y/n carefully measuring out the ingredients for the cookies. With a playful twinkle in his eyes, he reaches for the bag of chocolate chips, skillfully snagging it from the counter.
Y/n's attire exudes a cozy charm, with a white long-sleeved cropped top complementing her figure. Paired with grey shorts, her outfit strikes the perfect balance between comfort and style. A cute bow adorns her cascading hair, which is styled in a playful half-up, half-down fashion, framing her face with effortless grace.
Elijah: "Need these, Y/n?" Y/n looks up, surprised, but a smile spreads across her face at Elijah's playful antics.
"Hey, those are for the cookies!"
Elijah chuckles, winking at her before handing over the bag of chocolate chips. He's clad in black pants and a cuffed white shirt, which he rolls up the sleeves to his elbows. Y/n can't help but feel a warm flutter in her chest as she watches him, appreciating the subtle gesture of charm.
"You look good with your sleeves rolled up like that, Elijah." Y/n remarks as Elijah grins, his eyes sparkling with amusement at her comment. He then adds with a playful smirk, stepping closer to her.
"Need me to carry you over there so you can reach the ingredients?"
Y/n rolls her eyes, laughing softly at his teasing. "Very funny, Elijah. I think I can manage on my own, thank you."
As Y/n reaches for the baking soda on the highest shelf, her fingertips barely brush against it, and she sighs in frustration.
Before she can react, Elijah scoops her up into his arms effortlessly, surprising her. Y/n's heart skips a beat as she finds herself being carried, her feet leaving the ground.
Y/n: "Elijah, I—"
But her words trail off as she realizes the close proximity, feeling the warmth of his touch against her bare skin. The cropped top she's wearing allows Elijah's to use the opportunity to touch and caress her in a way that makes the moment feel intimate and sensual. His hand grazing her stomach and sending shivers down her spine.
Elijah chuckles softly, his warm breath tickling her ear as he carries her closer to the shelf.
"Just helping you out, Y/n. Thought you could use a lift." He speaks as if carrying an entire person was child's play.
After retrieving the baking soda with Elijah's help, Y/n holds onto the item as he gently sets her down on the kitchen counter. She watches him with a mixture of surprise and affection as he positions himself between her legs, a playful glint in his eyes.
"What are you up to now?"
"I thought I'd surprise you," he whispers, the warmth of his breath sending shivers down her spine. His fingers start to trace delicate patterns on her inner thighs, slowly inching closer to where she craves his touch the most.
Y/n's heart races as anticipation builds within her, her body instinctively arching towards him. His hands, both gentle and possessive, cradle her face as he leans in, his gaze ablaze with unwavering intensity, conveying both reverence and longing. With a delicate touch, he traces the contours of her jawline and collarbone, savoring the warmth of her skin against his fingertips. his expertise leaving her breathless. There's a softness to his expression, a tenderness that belies the intensity of his desire.  As their breaths mingle in the intimate space between them, Elijah's voice, a low, husky murmur, whispers words of adoration and desire, punctuated by the confession,
"I crave the taste of your lips, the feel of your skin against mine, the sound of your breath mingling with mine." With a gentle yet purposeful motion, Elijah leans closer, time seems to slow to a standstill as he hovers just inches away, his lips tantalizingly close to hers, teasing and tempting with the promise of sweet surrender. In that moment, there's nothing else in the world but the pull of their connection, the longing that pulses between them, as Elijah leans closer still, closing the gap between them until their lips finally meet in a tender, passionate kiss.
Elijah holds Y/N tightly by the waist, pulling her closer to him with an unwavering determination. Y/N responds to his touch with a soft gasp of pleasure, her body instinctively leaning into his embrace, seeking warmth and security in his arms. his embrace is both protective and possessive, drawing her closer to him with a strength that leaves no room for doubt about the depth of his desire. Their chests rise and fall in unison, each breath mingling with the other's in a rhythm that echoes the pounding of their hearts.
Y/N's fingers thread through Elijah's hair, a low rumbling sound escapes his throat, a mixture of pleasure and desire, as he instinctively leans into her touch, savoring the sensation of her fingertips against his scalp. His own breath catches in his throat as he draws her closer, his senses overwhelmed by the heady scent of her skin and the taste of her lips lingering on his own.
The moment is suddenly interrupted as Kol and Rebekah enter the room, catching them in their intimate embrace. There's a fleeting moment of surprise before Elijah, ever the epitome of composure, swiftly composes himself, though the flicker of desire still lingers in his eyes.
As Kol saunters into the room, his eyes twinkling mischievously, he can't resist adding his signature flair, "Well, well, what do we have simmering here, lovebirds?" His teasing remark punctuates the moment, eliciting a chuckle from Elijah and a playful roll of the eyes from Y/n
Rebekah arches an amused eyebrow and offers a sly smile, her tone teasing yet affectionate, "Seems like we've interrupted quite the cozy scene here. Do I even want to know what you two have been up to?" She winks.
Elijah's lips quirk into a subtle smile, amusement dancing in his eyes as he adds, "Y/n was just indulging in her latest culinary experiment."
Y/n, feeling a blush creeping up her cheeks at being caught in such a moment with Elijah by her friends, chuckles nervously, "Yeah, I thought I'd give baking a try. Turns out, it's a bit more eventful than I anticipated." She shoots Elijah a playful look.
"Well, I must say, Y/n, your baking skills certainly have the power to surprise." Elijah gently gripped Y/N's waist as they stood together, his touch tender yet firm. With a subtle squeeze, he conveyed a sense of intimacy and affection, his fingers lightly embracing Y/N's form.
But out of nowhere, from the corner of Rebekah's eye, Rebekah spots the bowl of flour on the counter, calling her name.
"I call dibs on the flour!" With a grin, she grabs a handful and throws it at Kol, who retaliates with a handful of chocolate chips. In the chaos that ensues, flour fills the air like a soft snowfall, and chocolate smears decorate their faces and clothes.
Elijah steps in front of Y/n, shielding her from the impending mess. His stance protective as he creates a barrier between Y/N and the flurry of flour as Y/N continues with her baking, unfazed by the flour flying past them.
Y/N lets out a playful laugh, nudging Elijah's side with a grin. "Well, that was a close call, wasn't it? Almost got caught in the crossfire there," she jokes, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
Elijah turns to her, his expression softening as he leans in closer, his hand finding its place gently on her waist. With a subtle smile, he murmurs, "Indeed, my dear, but I believe we have some unfinished business," his voice laced with a hint of playful mischief as he draws her into another tender kiss, their surroundings fading into the background as they savor the moment together.
Kol, in the midst of the flour fight frenzy, accidentally flings a dollop of food that lands squarely on the back of Elijah's shirt. The unexpected impact catches Elijah's attention, causing him to turn around with a bemused expression, only to find himself face to face with the mischievous grins of Kol and Rebekah.
With a chuckle, Elijah shakes his head in mock exasperation, but his gaze quickly returns to Y/N, a fond smile gracing his lips. "Seems you’re not the only one in need of protection," he teases, his hand still resting on her waist as he leans in closer.
Kol seizes the opportunity to launch a handful of flour in Y/N's direction. The powdery substance catches her by surprise, dusting her shoulders and hair with a fine white layer.
Y/N lets out a surprised laugh, brushing off the flour with a playful swat at Kol. "Oh, you're asking for it now, Kol!" she warns, her eyes dancing with mischief.
As the flour fight reaches its peak, Elijah can't help but chuckle as he watches Y/N fully immersed in the playful chaos, her laughter contagious.
"Alright, that's enough, children," Elijah calls out with mock sternness, his tone laced with amusement. "Let's save some flour for the actual baking, shall we?"
Rebekah and Kol exchange knowing glances, their laughter still bubbling just beneath the surface. Kol chuckles, wiping flour off his face. "Aw, come on, Elijah! Where's your sense of fun?"
"I thought you enjoyed a little messiness now and then." Rebekah quipped, eyeing him and y/n as if to mock the intimate moment they've had a few minutes prior.
Elijah rolls his eyes in mock exasperation, a fond smile playing on his lips. "There's fun, and then there's flour all over the kitchen," he retorts, unable to hide his amusement at his siblings antics.
"Look what you've done, you two!" Elijah add as he gestures toward Y/N, who is now adorned in a cloud of flour. "Y/N's covered in flour!"
"Well, it seems Elijah's gone all soft when it comes to you, Y/N. Watch out, he might try to put you in bubble wrap next!" Y/n blushes, feeling a warmth spreading through her cheeks at Kol's teasing.
Rolling his eyes at their teasing once again, Elijah adopts a mock stern expression. "Enough with the teasing, you two," he chides, "If you're quite finished turning my kitchen into a battleground, I suggest you clean up this mess."
Turning his attention back to Y/N, his expression softening as he gazes at her amidst the floury chaos. "Come, love," he says gently, offering her a hand. "Let's leave these two to clean up while we wash up upstairs. You can return to a clean kitchen to finish your culinary pursuits." Y/N's eyes light up with gratitude as she takes Elijah's hand, a smile playing on her lips.
Note
For the vampire Mikaelson’s, what part of their lovers body is their favourite place to bite? Neck, wrist, inner thigh etc and how likely are they to ravish them or make it a more intimate experience? 🖤
vampire!mikaelson's favourite place to feed from you...
a/n: i didn't include finn because ik he hated being a vampire and i honestly don't think he'd really enjoy it. also, i'm lazy. oops. 18+, sort of sexual content/sexual themes (not full smut but explicit mentions of it)
mikaelson siblings masterlist
elijah
i think elijah would love drinking from your wrist
i feel like his biggest fear would be hurting you, especially after how he learned that he was the one who killed tatia
he often doesn't trust himself when it comes to the women he loves. in turn, he will pierce your wrist as he drinks from you, one hand pressing it to his mouth while his other hand cups your face gently, holding your gaze on him. his eyes remain open, and they're fixed on you as a silent reminder not to get carried away and draw more blood than he should
i also feel like the eye contact makes it so much more intimate and makes the experience more special
if the two of you are making love and you ask him to feed on you, he has mixed emotions. he doesn't want to cause you any pain, but the feeling of feeding from you while he fucks you is wondrous
and so he hesitates
but all it takes is a whole lot of love and encouragement to get him there. you tell him you know he wouldn't willingly hurt you, and that you trust him more than you've ever trusted anyone
"please, 'lijah. i want you to. i want to satiate every one of your carnal desires. let me do this for you."
he is now putty in your hands
klaus
klaus loves sinking his fangs into your neck
99.9% of the time that he feeds on you is when you're in bed
the man is kinky, we all know that
once he gets a taste of you, he's going full on feral
he can truly feel you everywhere and he's so obsessed with you that it just gets him excited
he'll have one hand bracing the side of your neck he isn't drinking from, keeping you in place
he'll litter wet kisses over the skin, nibbling here and there and leaving behind small love bites if he's in the mood to mark you a little bit more
he begins to pound into you rougher as he feels the satisfaction of your blood sliding down his throat
it's hot, and tingly, and you
the man simply cannot resist
your cries are getting louder and it's spurring him on even more
he pulls back from your neck and you see the blood dripping from his lips, and he kisses you
you taste the savoury, metallic flavour of your blood
it's so sexy you lose your mind and fall apart as he pounds into you
is it hot in here? i just started sweating randonly. wonder what that's about
kol
kol, kol, kol
our cheeky little bastard
he's obsessed with feeding from your inner thighs
his large hands are kneading and squeezing your flesh, fingers brushing and trailing over your skin and getting you all worked up as he inches closer and closer to where you yearn for him the most
"kol, stop teasing"
he draws his fangs out
"all in good time, darling. i'm enjoying you"
he's such a fucking tease it's torturous
but you can't lie about the fact that it pays off in the end
also, not to be crude, but...if you have a uterus and happen to be on your period...
man is straight FEASTING
this is just so on brand for him though, not gonna lie
he's a psychopath in the best way possible and he's down for anything
"i can smell you from here, love, but i'd much rather be tasting you"
like babes, you can do whatever you want
"did i mention that orgasms help soothe menstrual cramps? no? well, they do. i'm just saying"
rebekah
i feel like our bex is a tits person
i can just imagine it
you're walking around in a low cut top and her eyes land on the bite marks adorning the ample flesh of your breasts
and it sends her off the deep endddd
she does her little smirk as her eyes trail down and you're blushing
"bex, stop. i can't focus"
"i'm sorry, love. i just thoroughly enjoy seeing the marks i've left you with. it turns me on"
and then you guys are back in bed
you're both insatiable
in-sa-tia-ble
or a back-of-the-shoulder person
you're both sat in front of a mirror
you're in front of her in between her spread legs and she's feeding on you as her hands roam all over your body
she may or may not be toying with your clit softly as she soothes you from the slight sting
rebekah just give me a chance
pLS
i beg
Elijah covered Gia's body and stood up. You stood by him and looked sorrowfully at Gia's body. You didn't know much about her but she didn't deserve to die because of Klaus. Klaus was so angry and killing Gia was his revenge.
"I'm so sorry about Gia, if I had been here she wouldn't have died" You told you boyfriend.
"That's alright, nothing could have stopped Klaus from killing her." Elijah hugged you from your side and kissed your cheek and turned to camille, who had just drank blood to heal herself.
"are you ok?" you asked in concern and she nodded in response.
"now that you're healed, what did you mean by Klaus had a plan? we had a plan, a plan he has mercilessly destroyed!" Elijah exclaimed in anger. You caressed his back and he calmed down.
"our plan wouldn't have worked elijah" Camille spoke up and both of you looked at her with confusion.
"when Klaus got into my head, he said your plan would fail so he had to enact one of his own"
"and what's this plan of his?" you asked her.
"he has to get her to link to him" Camille told you both and you gasped.
"My brother wishes to bind himself to our enemy? she'll be virtually indestructible." Elijah said as he separated from you and walked closer to her.
"he said I had to convince you guys that everything he had to do, he had to do alone." Camille explained and you groaned.
"he is so stupid! he could get killed! he always thinks he has to do everything on his own and thinks on his own and he doesn't ask for help" you said in frustration as you ran your hands through your hair.
"you had the wrong ingredients to kill dahlia and he has to buy time before he finds the right ones." camille explained further.
"how?" Elijah asked.
"he is going to use the dagger on himself" Camille said and your eyes widened.
"with dahlia's life linked to his, she'll drop dead with him." you realised what Klaus's plan was.
"I'm really sorry about your friend." Camille told him.
"are you?" Elijah questioned.
"I'm not condoning klaus's actions. I'm trying to help you. All I know is, Klaus will do whatever he has to do for-" Camille was probably about to say for family but elijah cut her off.
"Klaus will do whatever he has to do for Klaus! now hayley is not answering her phone. what has he done?" Elijah interrogated.
"don't blame the messenger" you turn around and saw rebekah, the real rebekah, and Marcel, coming into the compound. It was so good to see Rebekah in her old body again, she was forced into another body for so long you never thought she would go back to her old body ever again.
"Rebekah" You smiled widely and ran and hugged her and she hugged back.
"Ava, it's good to see you" Rebekah said as she hugged you back.
"no hug for me?" Marcel asked with a smiled and arms opened as you and Rebekah pulled away. you rolled your eyes and smiled as you ran to hug him and after awhile, pulled away.
"rebekah" Elijah spoke and looked at her from head to toe, surprised to see her in her old body.
"looks like Niklaus has a lot on his to-do list last night, and as for hayley" Rebekah started.
"what happened to her?" you asked.
"When Klaus attacked me, he stole the spell that i used on the crescent wolves" Marcel explained.
"so he would condemn her to the body of a beast?" Elijah asked.
"Hayley will be human once a month." Rebekah told everyone.
"Are you saying she can only see her baby once a month?" You couldn't believe Klaus would do this to Hayley.
"Not for long. we will find her and we help her. But for now we have to focus on those who need saving today. Freya called, Dahlia is incapacitated, they are two hours north at orchard near Pear River, she has Hope." Rebekah told you guys and you knew Elijah would want to go there as fast as he could.
"Take me with you" Elijah nodded and carried you bridal style and sped out of the compound and to where Freya was.
"well my adage holds, nothing good ever happens in a clearing in the woods" Freya said and you chuckled as you and Elijah walked up to her.
"nothing good ever happens where my brother is concerned, with one exception." he looked over at Hope.
"How is she?"
"she's a Mikaelson, she's resilient." Freya said.
"can I hold her?" You asked and Freya nodded and handed Hope over to you.
"hello Hope, you know your auntie Ava? I'm your cool Aunt" you cooed and Freya chuckled. Elijah smiled at your cuteness and walked over to where Dahlia and Klaus were.
"When I woke, they were like this." Freay told you guys.
"Rebekah tells me Klaus has a plan kill to Dahlia, that he knew our plan would not work" Freya said.
"Yes, according to him, our ingredients were incorrect." Elijah explained.
"Klaus infiltrated Dahlia's mind. you didn't break her heart, we needed the blood of the witch she loved most, and you are not that witch, your mother is." You continued explaining to her while rocking Hope.
"So we need esther. well that's impossible, I killed her" Freya told you guys.
"one incarnation" Elijah told Freya and you saw the uneasy expression on Freya's face and felt bad for her.
"Our mother is burried in New Orleans. Niklaus wants us to revive the original body." Elijah explained and Freya nodded.
"Let's get back to the compound" Elijah said and he went over and carried Klaus to the back of the truck before going over to Dahlia and carried her and placed her beside Klaus while you took Hope's carrier to the back seat of the truck and placing her gently into the carrier. Freya got into the passenger seat before Elijah got into the driver seat and drove off.
Once you guys reached the compound, Elijah called Marcel to carry Dahlia in while he carried Klaus and you carried Hope into the compound. you put Hope's carrier on the fountain and took her out of the carrier and went over to the Mikaelsons. You saw that Marcel was bent over Klaus and poking his arm.
"Nik is demented." He stated.
"are we really to dig up our mother, burn her to ash, swap said ash for Kol's and then trick Davina into using her last chance to bringing someone back from the dead, not to mention we lose the opportunity to save Kol, if Davina doesn't turn us inside out?" Rebekah asked.
"and we will just be killing Esther again after all this so we're just back to square one" you added and everyone turned to you.
"what? I'm just saying what we're all thinking" you shrugged your shoulders.
"we could also dig a deep hole and leave both our problems at the bottom of it" Elijah spoke up.
"I say we choose a more permanent option, find the white oak stake, kill Klaus, Dahlia dies with him." Freya suggested.
"oh yea, and so do I, and every other vampire that Klaus has turned." Marcel told her.
Suddenly you heard a trickling noise and you turned your head and looked at Klaus and your eyes widened.
"um, guys, we got a situation" Everyone looked towards your direction and saw that the dagger in Klaus's chest is melting.
"The dagger is bloody melting." Rebekah swore as Elijah knelt down next to Klaus.
"We have no choice but to finish the task niklaus has set." Elijah said out loud and everyone nodded.
"Rebekah and I will go get our mother's ashes while Marcel and Freya will stay here and find Kol's ashes." Elijah explained.
"what about me? I want to help too." You told him.
"darling, you can help by taking care of Hope, where it's safe, I don't want you to get hurt from this." Elijah told you and you scoffed.
"I can take of myself, I'm a witch from the most powerful coven and have been training with Freya for so long" you retaliated.
" I know but Dahlia is a thousand years old, she's way more powerful than you. Please, we don't have time to argue." Elijah says and you couldn't say anything and just nodded.
Rebekah and Elijah left and Freya and Marcel started looking for Kol's ashes. You weren't going to stay there and do nothing so you left for Hope's room and kissed her before placing her gently in her crib.
"I'm sorry baby, auntie Ava have got some work to do" you said and left the room, making sure to put a spell so that no one can enter into the room unless it's one of your friends. you looked for Freya and Marcel, where they were in one of the rooms, looking for Kol's ashes.
"I thought you were supposed to take care of Hope?" Marcel asked.
"I'm not going to just sit around doing nothing when I can be of use. plus i'm with you guys, nothing will happen. and don't worry I put a boundary spell around Hope's room so no one can go in unless it's one of us" you told him and Freya and Marcel nodded.
"Elijah said Klaus kept Kol's ashes in a blue urn, what he didn't do was narrow the field. Heaven forbid one thing not be a damn secret in this family." Marcel explained as he continued to search while you started searching the cabinets.
"Yet, despite your anger, here you are, casting your lot with Klaus. Is that because you believe his plan's going to work?" Freya asked.
"That is the Mikaelson paradox, you want to love and kill each other all at the same time." Marcel said.
"you got that right" you scoffed. The three of you continued to search for the urn. you missed Kol, even though he could be a hard ass, he would still look out for you whenever necessary. you promised yourself to continue to look for a spell to bring him back from the dead after all this was over.
"look who got lucky" you turned and saw Marcel bringing out the urn from a cabinet and looked inside when his smile dropped as you and Freya walked towards him. He flipped the urn and nothing came out of it and you sighed.
"either you have a curious definition of luck or someone got to those ashes before we did." You told him.
"all right we better find a way to stop that dagger from melting because if the theif is who i think it is, we've got a problem." Marcel said out loud.
"I've got an idea, but Ava I need your help." Freya said and you nodded as the 3 of you went to Klaus.
"Just follow my lead" Freya started chanting and you copied her as she poured salt onto the dagger. It was no use, the dagger is still melting.
"It's no use, we can't slow her magic, everything we're trying fails." Freya said and Marcel ran his fingers through his hair. suddenly you heard creaking and you turned to the stairs and saw vines and leaves growing towards upstairs and towards Hope's room. Dahlia is trying to get to Hope.
"There's got to be a way to kill her" Marcel said.
"there is" you looked at Freya and saw her taking out the white oak stake.
"No! Freya!" Both you and Marcel lunged towards Freya to try and stop her but she used her magic to back you guys to the stairs.
"Please Freya, you don't have to do this, we will find another way." You practically begged her to stop what she was doing and think for a second.
"do you really want to kill your own brother? the family you always wanted." Marcel added in.
"This is the family I longed for, but because of her, i'll always be alone." Freya lifted the stake and plunged it towards Klaus's chest but was stopped by Klaus, who had just woken up.
"Sister" Klaus said as he held her hand with both of his and you sighed with relief. Freya let you and Marcel go and she helped Klaus up as Dahlia got up.
"I'm almost impressed by the lengths you'd go to for your little girl, though not enough to let bygones be." She reached out and the stake from Freya's hand flew into hers
"we are still linked, dear aunt. you may not way to punish me with that particular weapon." Klaus said as he walked forward towards Dahlia.
"Hmm, I made sure that the link between us melted along with the dagger. Meaning, i'm quite free to kill you." Dahlia said and Klaus's face dropped. She used her magic to pull Klaus towards her and was about to kill him but Marcel ran forward and saved Klaus. Dahlia used this time to transport you and Freya to hope's room even though you had placed a boundary spell and took a little bit of hope's blood before teleporting to someplace you didn't know. Dahlia started dragging you and Freya inside an abandoned warehouse.
"2 centuries ago, this city hung its traitors right here, I thought it was only fitting that it be your slaughtering grounds." Dahlia told Freya.
"why'd you bring Ava here. she didn't betray you" Freya asked her.
"she may not have betrayed me, but she is the firstborn of the most powerful covern, I can use her as my power source. not to mention all of you care for her, it would be a good punishment to make you guys see her suffer while you stand there and aren't able to do anything." You feared the worse as she dragged you and Freya inside and made you guys kneel before her as she place a boundary spell around you guys.
"I actually pity you, over the course of our long lives together, I could see you were broken, I used to think it was my fault, but in time, I've learned your ability to love died long ago" Freya said with tears forming in her eyes.
"Darkness isn't born you know, it's created, by snuffing out of a light. so however you thought you might mend me, please no you never could. Whenever I looked into your eyes, I saw your mother, the sister who turned my heart to stone, and with that stone I will crush each and everyone of her children." Dahlia told her. She came to your side and cut your wrist and collected some of your blood.
"what are you doing?" Freya asked her but Dahlia ignored her. she cut her hand and blood dripped from her hand and she started chanting.
"she's linking me to her, I can feel it." you told Freya.
"I'm so sorry Ava, you should never have had to be dragged into my family's drama." Freya said with tears in her eyes. you could feel you eyes welling up too.
"that's not your fault, I knew the risk when I started dating a Mikaelson and I still stuck by, and I would do it all over again if it meant being with Elijah." you said with a smile. you had a plan of your own and you started chanting and you transported yourself spiritually/physically (you'll get it later) to where Klaus was as he is the only one who could help you with the plan
For A Friend
Kol Mikaelson X Fem!Reader
Word Count: 1707
Requested: Anon
Request: The originals one shot. Can you write one about liking kol and davina knows about it and she tries to set you guys up?
Tumblr media
You and Davina had been friends since she had managed to get away from Marcel and Klaus to create her own life. You were one of, if not the only witch that didn’t judge her for everything that had happened. You rarely questioned her decisions and helped her when things went wrong.
When she told you that she wanted to save Kol after everything that he had done for her, you stood by her yet again, despite the stories that you had been told about the Mikealsons. It took some time but Davina succeeded in her quest to bring him back and you were the first people that he saw smiling at Davina as if she were an old friend but when he looked at you it seemed to stop for a second.
“Who’s this?” He asked as Davina threw a set of clothes at him. “A friend.” Davina answered as you lifted your hand to give a small wave. “The friend you didn’t want me to meet before?” He asked. “You talked about me before?” You asked leaning back against the wall and crossing your arms. “Only for her to tell me to stay away from you.” Kol shrugged “she was convinced that I would cause you trouble.” “I didn’t know you then.” Davina defended herself. “Aw you care about me!” You teased as you looked at her with a smirk on your face. “Shut up.” Davina ordered as Kol laid down on the bed. “So are you going to tell me your name or what?” Kol asked. “Now why would I give the big bad Mikaelson my name?” You asked. “Surely Davina explained that I’m not as bad as they make me out to be.” He smirked his hands pulled up behind his head for him to rest on them. “Doesn’t mean I believe her.” You shrugged. “You wouldn’t be here if you didn’t.” Kol rolled his eyes and you smirked. “(Y/N).” You finally said. “Pretty name.” He said softly as you turned towards the door. “Well I’ve got things to do so I’ll be seeing you.” You turned and left.
A few hour later Davina was lounging all over your sofa as you cooked for the two of you “so are you going to tell me what that was with Kol earlier?” She asked, you glanced at her and shrugged. “What are you talking about?” You asked. “The flirting.” She answered. “I was not flirting.” You argued pointing the spatula at her. “Are you sure, it seemed like flirting to me.” Davina teased as she walked over leaning over your shoulder to see what you were making. “You're young, you don’t know what flirting is.” You waved her off as you started plating the food. “We’re the same age and you were definitely flirting.” She rolled her eyes as you looked at her and narrowed your eyes. “Hush otherwise I’ll eat all this food and you’ll get nothing.” You informed her and she lifted her hands in surrender as you nodded to yourself passing her the food and speaking no more of it.
“Fancy seeing you here.” You recognised Kol’s voice but the voice that followed was one that you didn’t. “Do you know this girl brother?” He asked. “She’s a witch.” Kol answered, you finally looked over at him cheek resting on the heel of your hand. “Is there something that I can help you with?” You asked. “I can’t just say hello?” Kol asked as he leant against your table, his arms crossed over his chest. “Not when you want something.” You answered “who are you looking for Davina?” “She wouldn’t help me, even if it benefitted her.” The other guy spoke and you looked at him. “You are?” You asked, he raised an eyebrow as if he was confused by your obliviousness. “This is my brother Klaus.” Kol answered. “You're the big bad wolf.” You nodded, taking a sip from the drink that you had ordered before going back to what you were doing. “I knew you wanted something.” You mumbled when neither of them moved. “Alright so we do need something.” Kol answered. “Uh huh. Who would have guessed it.” You looked at them again waiting for them to explain. “We need a locator spell to find my sister, she seems to have gone missing.” Klaus explained. “By missing you mean out of the house for more than 24 hours?” You asked. “How’d you know that?” Kol asked. “I may not have known what you looked like but I know enough about you to know that you're controlling. When you have evidence that your sister has been kidnapped and isn’t out having a good time, then I will help you.” You explained. Kol smirked at you while Klaus stormed out of the restaurant. “Do you have a death wish?” Kol asked. “Strong morals.” You answered. “You're a very interesting witch.” Kol smirked as he pushed off of the table. “I want to learn more about you.”
“This friend of yours.” Kol muttered as Davina looked at him. “What about her?” She asked. “Is she this icy with everyone?” He asked. “No.” Davina answered. “So she doesn’t actually like me?” He asked. “Why do you care?” Davina asked, a small smirk on her face. “I don’t, I was just wondering.” Kol answered with a shrug as he fiddled with something that was on the table in her workspace. “Stop playing with everything.” She scolded him, he lifted his hands with a playful smile on his face as he stepped away. “She’s the only person that seems to bother you, we were the same way when you were in Kaleb’s body and you never seemed bothered, it’s the same with your sisters, usually you thrive on that energy, is there something that you aren’t telling me?” Davina asked. “Why am I being interrogated when I was the one that came to ask a question?” He asked. “Because I think you would be cute together and honestly I think you both like each other.” Davina answered. “Has she said that!?” He asked. “No but you just did.” Davina informed him as continued to complete the task that she had started over half an hours ago and he continued to stop her from doing. “Will you leave if I ask her for you?” “Ask her?” Kol asked. “If she likes you?” Davina answered. “You would do that?” He asked, he almost looked like a puppy being offered its favourite toy. “Yes as long as you leave me alone.” She answered. “Consider me gone.” He said before actually disappearing out the door.
“So about Kol…” Davina said as she plopped down on the sofa next to you. “Why are we talking about him again?” You asked. “Because you get super defensive and you’ve never been like that before, you like him don’t you?” Davina asked. “Like him?” You asked. “Don’t do that, you know what I mean.” She argued as you looked at her and narrowed your eyes. “You really aren’t going to drop this are you?” You asked. “Only if you tell me the truth.” She smirked, leaning back on her hands. “Alright, he might be easy on the eyes and fun to talk to.” You shrugged as you looked away “can we stop talking about this now?” “Yeah sure.” She answered, dropping the subject a little too quickly for your liking, she was definitely up to something.
It was the next day that you found out what it was that she was up to when someone knocked on your door. You opened it to find Kol leaning against the doorframe “what are you doing here?” You asked. “I heard something, thought I should ask you about it.” He explained. “Oh yeah what is that?” You asked. “This is a conversation that you probably don’t want to have in your corridor, do you want to invite me in?” He asked. “No.” You answered. “Don’t be like that, surely you don’t want your neighbours to hear about your little crush?” He asked. “What the hell are you talking about?” You asked, you knew exactly what he was talking about. “A little birdy told me that you might think I’m easy on the eyes and fun to talk to.” He shrugged, you were going to kill Davina the moment that you saw her. “By your silence I assume that you did say that?” “Get in here.” You said through gritted teeth as you pulled him into your small apartment glaring at him, as the door closed Kol doubled back on you strapping you against the door. “You don’t know how much I wanted it to be true.” He said softly, arms caging you against the door you had just closed. “What are you doing?” You asked. “Well, since you like me and I like you, I think we should skip all the formalities and I’ll just show you what’s on offer.” Kol suggested nudging your face to the side as his lips dropped to rest on the connecting skin of your neck and shoulder. “As long as you show me the very same.” “The same…” You breathed out, eyes scanning around the room trying to focus on anything else, you felt him press a soft kiss to your neck as he moved towards your lips, your hands moved up to grip the back of his coat as his breath brushed over your ear, his lips hovering close to your ear. “I promise to give you everything, protect you from everything and prove to you that I am worth your trust and love.” Kol said softly. “So prove it.” You managed to say, proud of yourself for the fact that you sounded pretty steady. “Are you sure?” He asked. “I wouldn’t ask if I weren’t-” You never finished that sentence because he connected your lips in a gentle teasing kiss, one hand moving down to grip your hip while the other braced against the door, your hands moving to touch whatever you could as you tried to ground yourself. Maybe you didn’t have to kill Davina later but you did need to have a long talk about the girl code and maybe pay her back someday.
Y/N’s POV
I feel like a fish out of water walking into the grand Mikaelson Mansion, the opulence of the place is overwhelming, a stark contrast to my usual surroundings. My fingers graze the silky fabric of my deep crimson gown, a dress I’d never have chosen for myself but had been insisted on by Caroline Forbes—my well-meaning but sometimes bossy best friend. The material clings to my body, making me acutely aware of the unfamiliar sensation of wearing such an elegant form-fitting garment.
A delicate mask rests upon my face, concealing my identity and adding a layer of mystique. I run my fingers over the ornate design, feeling the cool touch of the silver and the softness of the lace that borders it. It’s a mask that was meant to make me blend in with the other masquerade attendees, but instead, it adds to my unease.
My hair, intricately woven into an undo, feels heavy and foreign on my head. It’s a stark departure from my usual casual, tousled locks. I resist the urge to pull the pins out but I know Caroline would yell at me if she saw as it would be an act that would defy the careful preparation that has gone int my transformation tonight.
As I look around the Mikaelson Mansion, I can’t help but feel like an outsider. The grandeur of the place is staggering, with its high ceilings adorned with chandeliers, ornate tapestries, and gilded accents. It’s a world of elegance and extravagance, a stark reminder of my humble roots in Mystic Falls. The guests, their faces concealed behind their own masks, move gracefully through the spacious hall, their laughter and conversation creating an enchanting hum in the air.
As I take a deep breath to gather my courage, I step further into the crowds of people mingling at the ball. The sound of hushed conversations, laughter, and the gentle rustle of expensive fabrics fills the air. My heart beats faster as I weave my way through the masked guests, feeling like a small fish in a vast and unfamiliar sea.
Suddenly, a hand, warm and firm, gently grasp my wrist. Startled, I turn to see a tall, enigmatic figure standing before me. It’s Kol Mikaelson, his deep blue eyes studying me with a hint of curiosity, as if he’s trying to unravel the mystery of my identity concealed behind the mask. His voice, laced with a seductive charm, breaks the silence between us, “Well, well, who do we have here?” He says, a knowing smile playing at the corners of his lips, “You look positively capturing, darling, but I can’t seem to place your face. What’s your name?”
My heart flutters in my chest as I maintain my composure, trying to conceal the nervousness that threatens to surface, “The allure of anonymity is a gift of masquerade, don’t you think?”
Kol's close proximity makes my heart race as I continue to meet his penetrating gaze. His eyes, a shade of blue that feels like a deep ocean, shimmer with an intensity that threatens to unravel my secrets. The corners of his lips curl into a sly smile, and his breath against my ear sends a delightful shiver down my spine, “Ah, a woman of mystery, I like that.” He murmurs, his voice laced with a seductive allure that makes my pulse quicken. His lips, tantalisingly close to my ear, evoke a thrilling sense of danger and desire. It's impossible to deny the magnetic pull he exerts.
Kol takes a step back, but his hand remains on my wrist as he extends his other hand towards me. "Would you do me the honour of a dance, my mysterious enchantress?" he asks, a playful glint in his eyes
A flush of nervousness courses through me as I hesitate. I’m not a skilled dancer, and I fear making a fool of myself in front of the Mikaelson crowd. But the way Kol looks at me, the way he makes me feel, is impossible to resist. With a soft smile, I nod and allow him to draw me to the dance floor.
As we start to move together, I can feel his strong, sure hand at my waist, guiding me with confidence. His proximity is intoxicating, and I can’t help but steal glances at his striking appearance. Kol is a vision of impeccable charm. His dark hair is artfully disheveled, his suit fits him like a second skin, accentuating his lean and elegant frame. The scent of his cologne, a rich and masculine fragrance, surrounds me, adding to the allure of the moment. The way he moves, the way his eyes never leave mine, is a dance in itself. With each graceful step, the world around us blurs, and it’s just Kol and me, lost in the hypnotic rhythm of the music and the unspoken connections that grows between us.
The song begins to come to an end and instead of letting me go, a gas is drawn from em when Kol’s grip on my waist tightens a little, pulling me closer to him. My heart races as I can feel the solid strength of his chest against mine, and his touch becomes even more intimate.
He moves my hand, which was in his before, to his shoulder, allowing his fingers to gently caress my cheek. His gaze, intense and unwavering, searches my eyes for a deeper connection. The world around us disappears entirely, and its as if we exist in a realm of our own creation, where the seductive allure of the Mikaelson Ball and the enigmatic man holding me becomes the only reality. His thumb brushes the edge of my mask, silently asking for permission to lift it and reveal my identity. But my heart clenches with fear. I can't help but turn my head away, my hesitation clear in the way I avoid his gaze. I'm afraid that if he discovers who I really am, he might pull away, and this intoxicating dance of desire and intrigue might come to an abrupt end.
Kol's eyes, still filled with curiosity, search my face for answers. He doesn't press the matter further, and I sense a growing mystery in his own demeanour. We continue to dance, but the unspoken question lingers in the air, a silent plea for trust and vulnerability and suddenly, almost too quiet for me to hear, “Shall we step outside?”
His question takes me by surprise, but the allure of the enigmatic Kol proves irresistible. Without a word, I nod, and Kol takes my hand, leading me through the maze of masked guests. His hand fits perfectly in mine, and his touch sends a thrilling pulse of anticipation through my body.
We navigate the grand mansion, leaving behind the music and revelry of the masquerade, stepping out into the gardens. The cool night air envelopes us, a welcome respite from the charged atmosphere within. The distant sound of laughter and music carries on the breeze, but out here, the world is a serene oasis cloaked in moonlight.
I turn my gaze to the gardens that sprawl before us, their beauty magnified in the soft evening light. The meticulously manicured hedges, the delicate play of shadows on the path, and the scent of blooming flowers blend together to create a landscape that’s nothing short of breathtaking. The enchanting aura of the Mikaelson Mansion extends seamlessly to the outdoors, where secrets and desires seem to take root in the very earth.
Suddenly, Kol’s fingertips brush over my shoulders, his touch as gentle as a whisper. A thrill of sensation courses through me as he traces a featherlight path down my arms, leaving a tingling warmth in his wake. The moonlight bathes us in a silvery glow casting an almost otherworldly sheen on the scene. He appears lost in thought as his fingers continue to trace down my shoulders and down my arms. His brows furrow slightly, as if he’s trying to piece together the puzzle of my identity. I watch his eyes, searching for any hint of recognition in the depths of their blue depths.
But then, something shifts. Kol stops trying to decipher who I might be and, instead, he gazes intently at my face. It feels like a moment of revelation, as if something has finally clicked in his mind. Without a word, he reaches over and begins to pull the pins that hold my hair in place. A sigh of relief escapes me as each pin releases its grip. They had been starting to dig into my scalp and were becoming increasingly uncomfortable. Kol’s touch, as he frees my hair, is gentle and considerate, a stark contrast to the wild dance of desire and intrigue that had been weaving its way through the night.
With the final pin removed, my hair tumbles down freely, cascading around my shoulders like a waterfall of silk. Kol’s gaze lingers on my unveiled appearance, his eyes capturing the transformation before him. His gaze lingers on my unveiled appearance, capturing the transformation that has taken place. The moonlight continues to cast its enchanting glow upon us, highlighting the moment of vulnerability and intimacy.
Kol, his eyes filled with a mix of curiosity and desire, takes hold of my chin between his thumb and forefinger. He turns my face and body to squarely face him, ensuring there are no secrets or barriers between us. His eyes search my face, exploring every contour and shadow, as if he's trying to etch this moment into his memory.
A soft hum escapes his lips, a sound that reverberates with a blend of approval and something deeper. In the next heartbeat, he leans in, closing the space between us. His lips meet mine in a gentle, almost reverent kiss. The sensation is electric, a blend of tenderness and desire that courses through my body. Kol's lips are soft and warm against mine, and they move with a slow, deliberate rhythm. His kiss is an invitation, an unspoken promise of connection and intimacy. I can feel his breath mingling with mine, our heartbeats in synchrony, as we share this moment of profound connection.
As Kol eventually pulls away, the moment lingers, and the air is charged with anticipation. This time, when he reaches for the mask, I let him. My cheeks heating up and I can’t meet his gaze, bracing myself for the initial revelation as I’m not as pretty as Caroline or sweet as Elena. But, instead of disappointment or detachment, Kol’s fingers brush my cheek and he sweeps me up in another breathtaking kiss. The passion and desire in this kiss intensify, as if he’s determined to show me he likes me.
The kiss is an intoxicating blend of passion and desire that leaves me breathless. Kol's strong arms wrap around me, pulling me closer, and I can feel the heat of his body against mine. His lips are demanding, and they taste of a tantalising blend of desire and urgency. His hands roam my body, exploring and igniting a fiery desire within me. My hands find their way to his shoulders, gripping the fabric of his suit as I hold onto him, lost in the sensation of the moment.
In the midst of this intoxicating moment , Kol eventually pulls away, his gaze intense and filled with a mixture of longing and satisfaction, “I was hoping it was you, Y/N.” He murmurs, his voice soft and filled with warmth.
A rush of relief washes over me as I meet his gaze, searching for any sign of doubt or regret, “You were?” I reply, my voice quivering with anticipation and a hint of vulnerability.
“I wouldn’t have asked you to dance if I didn’t think it was you.” He confirms.
Kol's eyes sparkle with a newfound understanding, and instead of answering, he leans in for another lingering kiss, a promise of secrets and seduction that bind us together in a night filled with intrigue and desire. The enigmatic allure of the Mikaelson Ball has led us to the precipice of a passionate and dangerous affair, and the unspoken promises of the night continue to unfold in a dance that defies explanation.
can you make headcanons about yandere kol mikaelson x fem human reader
I can absolutely do headcanons for Kol Mikaelson! Thank you very much for the ask anon and I hope you enjoy these headcanons!
AN: This ask and my response to it deals with yandere content, kidnapping, canon typical violence, and behaviours. This means it will have dark elements. I do not condone yandere behaviours in real life.
Tumblr media
Despite their frequent fights and arguments, Kol and Klaus are very similar.
They are similar when it comes to the type of yandere they are and how they treat their darlings.
You bumped into Kol after he had stormed away from Davina following their argument about her controlling Mikael with magic. Kol had called her reckless and thoughtless. He was also furious with her because she had lied to and manipulated him into revealing his father's location.
Still angry, Kol gazed down at you with a sneer. As soon as he saw you, his sneer faded away. You were the most beautiful being that he had ever seen.
You didn't know much about the Mikaelsons but you did know that you were in danger and an apology quickly fell from your lips.
Charmingly, Kol lifted one of your hands and pressed a kiss to your knuckles, "A beautiful creature such as yourself should not worry about apologising when something so wonderful has transpired from our meeting."
Still on edge, you pulled your hand back and without hesitation, Kol introduced himself. You were about to do the same when there was a whoosh of air and you found yourself pressed against a tree with a vampire snarling at you and someone who looked to be a teenager standing behind the vampire.
That was how you met Mikael and Davina. Proudly, Davina revealed herself to be a witch and that Mikael was the father of the Mikaelsons, the Original vampires.
Underneath her pride and her smugness, you detected a hint of fear which worried you. Throughout Davina's introduction, Mikael hadn't said a thing. The vampire hunter stepped back at Davina's spoken command and you detected resentment in his gaze as he did so.
"I have a bad feeling that Mikael is fighting her control. How long do I have before he breaks free?" You wondered as your hands scraped against the bark.
The answer: not very long. Following your disappearance, Kol had gone to the only beings that stood a chance against their father. His tone was impatient and his words were biting and in the end, he convinced his siblings to assist him in fighting their father.
The Originals didn't take long to find you and during the fight, Davina's bracelet was destroyed. You trembled as you saw the same look of utter fury on Kol and Mikael's faces but for very different reasons.
Davina ran to your side, figuring that she would be safe next to you. It didn't take you long to realise that she was controlling Mikael with the bracelet. Your expression told her just what you thought about that idea of hers and she ducked her head.
The fight between the Originals and their father was violent, bloody, and rapid. Mikael was destroyed by his children and Kol was seething with rage at the fact that Davina had sought shelter from her actions next to you.
Kol eventually calmed down and from that point on, you interacted with the Mikaelsons on a frequent basis. Dinner parties with the Original siblings were always interesting and incredibly chaotic. You respected Elijah's constant efforts to try and maintain order when it came to his family.
It took time but eventually, you and Davina moved from merely tolerating each other's existence (Kol did go to her when he needed magical help) to an almost friendship.
Occasionally, you get glimpses of Kol's darker nature. Kol isn't one to hesitate if he feels insulted or if there is the tiniest hint that you are upset or uncomfortable. You jokingly referred to him once as your hellhound and to your surprise, Kol laughed.
He liked the nickname and so it stuck.
While Kol has access to some of the wealth that his family does, he prefers to show his love and appreciation in other ways. The Mikaelson will spend time with you (casually threatening those who interrupt your time with him) and he will tell you stories of his childhood before things became complicated.
He likes it when you hum tunes from movies and he will drop everything to watch movies with you. Kol will cuddle with you during the movie and the two of you will end up missing the ending because you've fallen asleep in his arms and he is so entranced by the way you fit perfectly in his arms and the way you look when you are sleeping.
Ok ok I really love you! That's the last request hahaha I don't wanna annoy you ❤️ I had this somehow cute idea where you've fallen in love with him but he doesn't know and one time you get a little drunk with the girls, later deciding to grab a taxi to the Mikaelson house. Klaus is the one letting you in but Elijah already felt your presence and tries to keep you safe around Klaus, or as you start playing with their swords and stuff. Klaus watches with amusement at his brother taking care of a human girl and makes a comment like "better keep her before I do", and that wakes something in Elijah that he takes you to his room, just to keep you safe. You end up cuddled on top of him, admitting your love to him before falling asleep. He also realizes that he has feelings for you, but he decides to tell you properly in the morning when you wake up 😊😙
Description: A drunken reader leads to playful chaos between the Mikaelson brothers and feelings being revealed.
Warnings: she/her pronouns, drunkness, fluff, swearing
*Requests are open, please send through as many requests as you want, check my character list and requesting rules.*
Thank you so again for requesting! No! You're not annoying me! I'm really enjoying getting requests so don't feel bad! I hope you also enjoy this one!
First Person's POV
Girls' night out was amazing, I haven't had a night like this in ages, away from all the drama and finally able to just relax with the girls and just be us. I knew I was getting tipsy, I could feel my giggles becoming more and more prominent than normal. The girls were going home, so I decided to head towards the Mikaelson house, I stood on the street hailing a taxi and stumbled into the vehicle once it arrived. I asked to be taken to the address, the walk to the porch of the Mikaelson resident seemed like an incredible challenge, I'm sure that to an outsider I just looked like a fawn learning to walk but I felt as if I was climbing Mount Everest.
I giggled to myself as I fell against the door, I sucked in a breath, trying to pull myself together as I knocked waiting for someone to answer. I was surprised when it was Niklaus, I waved almost childishly, smiling brightly at the Hybrid who clearly seemed amused by my current state.
In all honesty, I have no clue how I ended up sword-fighting with Niklaus, however, somehow this is where we ended up. Sword fighting in the parlour. I highly recommend it, however, do take care. I grinned brightly seeing Elijah walking forward with his usual look of concern plastered on his face, however, once he was at my side he smiled.
"Good evening, Y/n, I didn't realise you'd be joining us."
"Spur of the moment type thing." I turned my attention back to Niklaus, continuing our little sword fight, I jumped as Elijah used his speed to appear in front of me, I grinned excitedly but quickly pouted as he took the sword off of me.
"How about instead you sit with me, and tell me all about your night?" The pout faded away, I nodded in agreement, sitting on the sofa with him and instantly began rambling on about every little detail that went on tonight. I'm sure I shared details I wouldn't typically share in normal conversation, my filter was non-existent and oh, how I know that if I could watch myself right I would wish for it badly.
"Am I okay to take my shoes off?" I questioned glancing down to the hells that were now becoming painful and unwanted. Elijah nodded, though, after watching my struggle he lightly took my hands and proceeded to continue to charm me with his gorgeous smile that drew me in the first time I saw him.
"May I help you?" I nodded, frustrated with my inability to undo the damn straps on my shoes, Elijah kindly took my shoes off for me and rested them to the side. The vampire stared at me for a good minute, assessing my needs and whatever else that was needed to be assessed.
"I'll be right back, I'll get you some water." I threw my arms around him, giggling happily, thanking him and plopped back into the couch. I waited patiently for both vampires to return, I fiddled with my hands, staring at everything in the room and running my finger over my lips making odd sounds just for the sake of it.
Elijah's POV
I began pouring some water, and getting some things prepared for Y/n knowing that in the morning the hangover would come, I wanted her to be okay and wanted her to be safe. So I was quite glad that Niklaus chose to follow instead of causing more havoc with Y/n.
"You know, brother, you better sweep her up before I do." His smirk and words struck a chord. He knew of my feelings, Niklaus knew that I would do anything for her and knew that he would follow through on his words. I made my way back to the living room, stopping in my tracks seeing her laying upside down on the couch, he head on the floor and her legs dangling over the backrest of the sofa.
I bit back the smile dying to show, I sat beside her, smiling as she waved happily and awkwardly twisted and turned trying to get back into an upright position. I took her hands, smiling as she rested her head on my shoulder and that gorgeous smile just permanetly stuck on her lips.
"Come with me, will you, please?" Y/n nodded, taking my hand and following me to my room. I handed her the glass of water, watching as she plopped onto my bed finishing the glass of water within a gulp and began curling up underneath the blankets.
'Would you lay with me, please? I couldn't refuse, I nodded and kicked off my shoes and rested besides her. I wrapped my arms around her as she began to lay upon me, her eyes were fluttering open and shut her words escaping in a mumble.
"I love you, Elijah. I really love you. Like a lot. Super a lot." Before I could even deny anything, I could feel her swiftly fall asleep, I didn't want to disturb her, I didn't want this moment to end. I knew that in this moment I wanted to confess my feelings for her, so I thought it would be best to do so in the morning.
First Person's POV
As the light shined into the room, I knew my headache would be a bitch to deal with, I pushed myself up into a sitting positon in the boat. I stretched briefly, jumping slightly to see Elijah walking into the room with a glass of water and a packet of painkillers.
"Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you." I whispered, sipping the water and taling the painkillers. Elijah sat on the bed besides me, I rested my head on his shoulder and began sharing my apology.
"I'm so sorry, was I a complete mess?"
"No, not at all."
"You're a liar." I whispered.
"You were just really giggly and silly. You told me you loved me- I don't know how much of that was true..."
"That was true, I meant that." I confirmed, seeing there was no point in denying the fact that I loved him. Elijah sat in silence for a good moment, I could feeel my heart halt for a second fearing that his reaction cold be poor and that he would react in a way that ruin our friendship.
"I love you too." He whispered, his eyes focused on me, I glanced to him surprised and shocked about the outcome of the confession. I smiled pushing myself up and grabbed ahold of his face. Looking to see if the noble vampire was lying to me, he grabbed my hands, his look gentle and comforting. I knew just then that it wasn't a lie and that this was all true.
Summary: Pirate Kol. What more do you need to know? I will say this is kind of heavily POTC based but in what world is that a bad thing? Oh... I also tossed a nice helping of yandere in here too. This one's for you Tumblr. || Kol Mikaelson x Siren!reader || Here lies my Masterlist ||
Word Count: Uh... Nevermind.
Warnings: ALL OF THEM! Yandere content, blood, blood drinking, use of the w*nch word, torture, kidnapping, non-consensual touching, I don't know if steamy is the right word but I'll use it. Seriously, this is in no way a healthy relationship.
⛈️ STORY BEGINS BELOW 🌊
The tavern was, by no means, the proper place for a lady of your position. You should have been tucked safely in your bed, away from the riotous clamor of thieves, beggars, and assorted drunken knaves. Alas, you had chosen to spend your night among them nonetheless. For there was no better place in all the town to hear stories of magic and macabre than from the mouths of the sailors what gathered there.
Voices bellowed, violins fiddled, and tavern-goers danced while ale flowed endlessly on tap. Ducking through the crowded door, you searched the crowd for a candidate likely to entertain you this evening. Off to your right was gathered a throng of bar-maids, wenches, and commoner women, seemingly engrossed in the tale of a visiting sailor. Your little town was nothing impressive - a mere stop along the way to greater places - yet nary a sailor would easily avoid making port here once in a while. Strapping young men were always coming and going and to say that you didn't welcome them would be a falsehood indeed.
With a hint of a smile teasing your lips, you strode delicately through the teeming pub with practiced ease before selecting a seat a little ways off from the mass of women huddled around the jolly sailor. You had always possessed a rather odd talent for discerning voices from crowded rooms, no matter how many bodies were packed between the walls. You singled out the storyteller's tones soon enough.
His voice was velvety and pleasant, serene and crisp like a winter's breeze. The words he spoke were carefully arranged on a wicked sharp tongue and the vibrant tonality of them held his audience's rapt attention. From the glimpses you caught of him through the shifting bodies, it was plain to see that he basked in it, grinning broadly with wild gestures and boisterous laughter. He was young, certainly not much older than yourself and the way he carried himself bespoke a charming arrogance most women would swoon for. The boy's thick hair was as dark as elm and hung in lazy, wind-tossed ringlets. His eyes seemed black as coal in the meager candlelight but they flickered with a spark of licentiousness. Doubtless, he was beautiful, with clean, sharp features and that exuberant air. Questions arose from his audience and he met them with a dazzling and clever wit. Listening was like watching verbal sword-play - a duel in which one side had the absolute advantage.
His gaze flicked from person to person with the proper variance to keep his listeners interested, yet never lingering in any meaningful way. You watched him with an amused quirk of the lips as he spoke a tale of cannibals, sirens, and a monstrous sea serpent he'd dubbed Bartholomew. As was so often your ploy, you sat close enough to catch his words yet distanced yourself enough to remain outside his realm of attention. Handsome though he was, you didn't much fancy becoming the focus of his charm.
Men seemed to have a rather untoward tendency to latch onto you and the longer they spent in your presence the more they seemed to lose all sense of propriety or decorum. Ever since one particular instance where the brute of a man had gone so far as to attack you, your father had assigned you multiple chaperones for any public appearance. It was bothersome, to say the least - suffocating certainly, and recently you had resorted to sneaking out just to have a chance to breathe.
So when the boy's eyes chanced to meet yours through the throng, you felt a spark of panic. There was something breathtakingly vast in those obsidian irises, looking into them felt like staring up at the night sky stretching onward into infinite blackness. The world in its entirety seemed to shift as his boundless attention, like a telescoping lens, narrowed its focus solely on you. His voice broke off mid-sentence and he seemed to lose his breath.
Other men had displayed similar reactions to you before, but never had one conveyed such devastating yet beauteous intensity. A flattered blush painted your cheeks, yet you couldn't find it in you to glance away. For a split second, you thought you saw a shadow of something sinfully animalistic flit across his face, but it was gone before you could register it. You felt aberrantly… ravished by his gaze. Though it startled you to find it was not a wholly unwelcome sensation.
He smiled, not a lecherous smirk but an earnest grin as though you were the safe harbor amidst a storm-tossed sea. You smiled - modest and demure- in return before the shifting crowd cut off your connection.
It was time to leave
Finishing what little food you had ordered, you gathered your skirts and stood only to trip over a stray foot. You stumbled forward into the arms of a stranger who steadied you with ease.
"Thank y- Oh!" You blinked. Before you stood that handsome sailor, holding you gently. His hands felt like flames licking at your upper arms.
"Good evening," He said, bowing his head to you. Your thoughts froze in place.
“Y-yes,” You stammered. “It is.”
He smiled gently and smoothed his hands down your arms, spreading those flames over your skin. You blushed fiercely as he lifted your hands to his lips and conferred a kiss on the backs of both. Those amaranthine eyes never left yours.
“Do my eyes deceive me or might I be standing in the presence of the divine, empyrean, angel sent to abide my recreant and wretched soul?” He said, brushing a lock of hair from your face. Your breath caught in your throat.
You had received compliments from men before - been showered with them - but never before had you heard something so astonishingly genuine part from the lips of a complete stranger. The compliments tossed at you were nearly always the scandalous sort.
“I’m afraid you must be mistaken,” You breathed, nearly trembling with nerves.
“That’s certainly possible, blinded as I am by your beauty.” He smiled, twisting that lock of your hair around and around his finger. There was something in that smile that vaguely reminded you of the way a parched man might look at a drawing of water - you might almost describe it as delirious, if not tamer than that. “Might you do me the honor of hearing your name?”
“My name is Y/N,” You replied. “Y/N Y/L/N.”
“Well then, Miss. L/N-” The way his tongue rolled around your name made your heart skip a beat. If you didn’t know better, you would have thought he’d noticed as a satisfied gleam flashed through his eyes.  “-I would have you know, that I’d need not so much as glimpse another woman for the rest of my days if you would grace me with just one dance.”
Your stomach fluttered and you wished this could be so, but you knew better by now. Just one dance was never enough. Just one kiss was never enough. They always wanted more.
You bowed your head, avoiding his immeasurably heavy gaze. “My apologies, sir,” You said, breathless. “But I must be getting home. I’ve lingered here far too long already.”
Disappointment tugged at the corners of his lips. “I see. Perhaps I could accompany you?”
You offered a dry smile. “Only if you would wish to be intimately acquainted with my father’s sword.”
“I would prefer to avoid that, I think.” He laughed but it was sad. “Might I see you here again?”
“I should think not.”
He wasn’t the first boy you had rejected, but that didn’t make it any easier. You’d never felt worthy of the attention you received. It had never felt real before now. Smiling regretfully, you risked granting him a pat on the chest before stepping around him. You felt his eyes hover on your back as you weaved your way through the tavern and out the door. That sensation did not cease until you arrived home and closed the front door.
In your attempts to make your way unheard through the blackness of your father’s estate, you unwittingly walked directly into the map table which took up a significant portion of the entryway for the time being. Your hip bashed against the corner and you winced as several of the small wooden figures, representing ships under your father’s charge, toppled over. Thankfully, all the household maids were abed at this hour and your father was away on business so no one was likely to have heard. Taking your time to carefully study the map, you replaced the figures in their proper order and scampered off to bed.
You awoke to cannon fire.
The echoing blasts shook you from your dreams and you shot upright, whipping your gaze to the window which peered out over the bay. There, in the water, was anchored a ship you had never seen. Its cannons flashed in the night as it fired upon the shoreline, parts of the village had already caught fire. Such a sight could only mean one thing.
Pirates.
A sudden crash and a shout tore your eyes from the window. The sound of heavy boots pounding up the stairs flooded your heart with dread. Torchlight flared beneath your door and you had not time enough to move before it burst from its hinges.
You screamed.
A pair of men dragged you from your bed by your arms. You writhed and fought like a wild dog as they dragged you down the stairs. Grinning in vicious satisfaction, you managed to drive your foot solidly into the stomach of one of the brigands. After that, they resolved to hold you down as one of them coiled a length of rope around your feet and shoved a rag in your mouth before hauling you off again. They dragged you to the beach and tossed you into a longboat. You would have attempted to tip the miserable thing if not for the knife one of the dirty pirates held to your throat.
“Quite the beauty our captain’s found for himself, eh?” The one with the knife inquired of his companion. Tattoos covered his body and his right eye was scarred beyond recognition.
“Don’t matter much, methinks.” The other shrugged. A sandy-haired man with hardened eyes and a crooked nose. “Doubt this one will last much longer than the rest.”
“Sure seems a shame, lettin’ a body like this go to waste,” The first agreed. He brushed a finger over your cheek and you snarled.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you,” Sandy-hair warned. “I doubt he would take lightly to his orders being disregarded.”
Tattoos scoffed. “That captain’s hardly more than a boy, he doesn’t give me orders. Besides, if he wanted this wench so bad, why’d he not take her ‘imself?”
“You know why.” The sandy-haired one quit rowing as the logboat approached the side of the vessel still docked in the bay. “Now unless you want to lose your hands, I suggest you keep ‘em to yourself.”
“I’m not scared of that kid,” Tattoos grumbled.
“You should be,” The other said.
More men gathered up above, tossed down a few ropes, and hoisted the boat from the water. As your kidnappers dismounted, they made the mistake of letting go of you for a moment. Seeing your opportunity, you spat the rag from your mouth and made a mad attempt to fling yourself over the side.
“Oh, no ye’ don’t, Miss.”
You screeched as one of the pirates caught you by the hair and tossed you onto the deck. Dazed, you caught a glimpse of Sandy-hair glaring at his companion, shaking his head. Filthy pirates stood around you in a loose circle. Some seemed almost scared to approach though you couldn’t fathom why. Tattoos leaned down and yanked you up by your hair again. He shoved you back and you stumbled over the hem of your skirt, collapsing onto the set of stairs leading to the helm. Your head smacked against the banister, splitting the skin at your hairline. Snatching your arms, Tattoos flipped you over, pinning your wrists over your head. You cried out in terror and he brandished the knife in his hand at your throat, shrugging.
“I get my turn, an’ he can have his,” The horrid man said with a cruel sneer. He moved the knife to slice open your dress. A sob escaped your lips and you squeezed your eyes shut.
To your surprise, there came a strangled gasp and that man’s terrible weight was lifted off you.
There was no tearing of fabric, no slicing of your skin, and your breasts weren’t suddenly exposed to the elements. Yet, you didn’t dare open your eyes.
Something crunched.
It was an awful, sickening, wet sound and morbid curiosity demanded you identify the cause. Timidly, you looked up.
Before you, Tattoos hung, suspended in the air by the throat. His spine bent backward in an unnatural way and his eyes, wide and unfocused, stared into the void, his jaw gaped limply, frozen in a silent scream. Your eyes flicked to the man standing behind him - a far too familiar brunette with a far too familiar voice.
“If you want to play the game, mate,” That silken voice advised. “You have to abide by the rules.”
You didn’t see him draw a blade as he dropped your assailant to the ground, but you caught a white flash of something that must have been a handle as he drove the weapon into the other man’s chest, plunging it straight through his heart. You stared at the corpse in front of you, far too utterly overwhelmed to be sure what you should be feeling at the sight of it.
“I hope the rest of you take that as a bloody warning,” Your savior said casually, kicking the body aside with a sneer. He cast his eyes to you. “Hello again.”
Your eyes flitted from him to the corpse, chest heaving with unsteady breaths. You were far too terrified to respond. The pirate smirked.
“Gefðu frúnni herbergið mitt,” He said in a tone like honey and thorns. Then he turned and two men parted from the crowd, stalking toward you. You shrieked again but couldn’t escape as they dragged you around the stairs and tossed you through a doorway. You pushed yourself up on your hands as the door slammed shut.
Taking stalk of your surroundings, the terror in your gut only crept up your throat like bile. Pieces of furniture were scattered around.  An armchair, a bookshelf, a desk, and a bed. They’d locked you in the captain's quarters. Now, you may have been frightened out of your bloody mind but if these filthy pirates thought you were going to be a good little captive then they had another thing coming.
You needed a weapon.
Dashing over to the desk, you tossed aside an empty bottle of rum and rummaged through a pile of maps. You found nothing, so you moved on to the drawers. You had no idea what to make of the obscene quantity of random odds and ends contained therein but you didn’t particularly care to form an opinion. It wasn’t until you reached the back of the very last drawer that you found a silver letter opener. The decorative piece was by no means ideal, but the tip was relatively pointy so you considered that a victory.
Now all you could do was wait and see what fate had in store.
***
"What a pretty thing, you are." You spoke softly to the brilliant red creature as you gently stroked its breathtakingly vibrant coat. The fur was soft between your fingers and the animal didn't seem to mind your touch. "Are you a prisoner here too?"
The fox, of course, did not answer. Hours had gone by since your captors had locked you in there and you had come across the captain’s pet rather quickly. Skittish at first, it had grown used to you by now. A faint smile tempted your lips as you moved your hand, scratching behind the animal's ears. It seemed to like that, judging by the purr of contentment it made.
"Do you like him?"
The voice from behind startled you, and subsequently the poor fox in your arms. It sprung from your hands and growled but the man behind you whistled sharply and it quieted before skulking over to where he stood in the doorway. He watched you expectantly and you supposed it best you indulge him.
"He is a very handsome beast," You replied, straightening your spine in an effort to appear strong. Your legs were shaking. "Remarkably tame."
The boy smiled. It was a kind, disarming smile, but you knew better. The devil lurked behind those beautiful brown eyes.
"Yes, I'm rather fond of him as well," He said, pushing off the doorframe and stepping further into the room. "I found Draugr injured in a field, having been nearly torn apart by wild dogs." He pushed the door shut and you stiffened. You tried to conceal your horror but failed, taking a step back instinctively. The pirate noticed but didn't comment, instead gesturing toward the fox that now playfully nipped at his heels. "He must like you though. He won't permit anyone else on this ship to touch him."
"Likely because you're all filthy brigands," You snipped. Only a moment later did you think better of it. Perhaps insulting him wasn't the wisest course of action.
To your surprise, the boy laughed, shaking his head. "I can see how you might think that," He said. He crossed to the far wall and sat down in an armchair, gesturing for you to take a seat on the magnificent four-poster bed. His bed. You froze.
Should you obey him? It was a risk either way. He was strong - a sailor - he could so easily overpower you. Had you not witnessed him cut down one of his own men, not hours before?
He sighed, eyes seeming strangely soft. "Calm yourself, darling. Fair though you may be, I've no vile intentions towards you," He assured, tone gentle and understanding. You decided it might be safe to sit on the bed.
"Then why have you taken me?" You demanded curling your knees into your chest. "My father is a merchant, but that's no great ransom. I am of no significant value to you. Why can you not bring me home?"
He watched you for a moment. There was something… regrettable in his eyes. The smile he offered was kind, if not forced.
"Not all treasure is silver and gold, love." His gaze flicked subtly to the gash torn across your hairline. The boy's lips pressed together and he shifted uncomfortably, forcing his eyes away. "You are of… other value to me," He admitted quietly.
Your eyes narrowed.
"And what value would that be, precisely?" You hissed, pushing yourself further away from him.
Oddly enough, the pirate seemed to wince. His hand reached for you in a fleeting gesture, but he thought better of it. Instead, he spread them appeasingly - as if to show you he was no threat. At his feet, Draugr yipped and sprung onto his lap.
"I assure you, it's not what you're thinking," He said. Again, those soft brown eyes sought out your wound. "However, I would not deceive you…" He wet his lips and stared, transfixed at the last transient drops of scarlet that seeped from the cut. There was a distinct want in his gaze - a tormented and voracious hunger - like an animal on the brink of starvation. "I'm afraid what I desire of you is not a particularly pleasant affair."
The manner in which he eyed you drove your heart to increasing concern. Its rapid beating pounded in your ears as you curled tighter around yourself.
"If you are attempting to console me, then your effort is considerably lacking," You huffed. The air in the cabin, hot and stiff, only served to magnify your dire situation.
He sighed, closing his eyes briefly as though something pained him. "You needn't be afraid of me, darling." He offered the words almost pleadingly. "I'm not going to hurt you, yet. Please understand, this isn't something I want to do and I wish I could offer you a choice, but I can't. I-I need you and I'll explain everything. You're frightened, and rightfully so, but I promise you can trust me."
You laughed, though it was rather hysterical. "What reason have I to trust you? I don't even know your name! How can I trust someone who refuses to explain what they want from me?"
He chuckled slightly and smiled. Then he stood, prompting Draugr to bound off his lap.
The pirate's gait was graceful as he crossed the room, as graceful as any nobleman though you knew better than to be disarmed by such things. The predator he kept as a pet served as an apt reminder - a fox is as handsome and as graceful as it is deadly.
You didn't scramble away as he drew closer, though you certainly remained ready to, watching with leery eyes as he stopped and offered you his hand. You eyed it and scowled.
"Come now," He implored. "I'm not going to hurt you yet."
He said that as though it should be comforting. You took his hand anyway and he smiled - a rakish thing - as he lifted it to his lips. His kiss was gentle; it made your stomach turn and your skin crawl.
"My name is Kol," He said. "It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance."
Your lips curled with disgust. "Don't pretend as though you care for me," You spat.
He tilted his head. "But I do care for you, darling. You intrigue me, and for that, I can only apologize. Tell me, what can I do to put you at ease?"
"You can start by explaining yourself," You growled, wrenching your hand from his grip. He let go willingly. His smile shouldn't have been so endearing.
He nodded. "Very well." He turned and walked to one of the cabin's stained glass windows, silent for a moment. "Do you believe in magic, Miss L/N?" Kol asked, gazing out over the ocean.
You raised a brow, unimpressed. "What?"
"Magic," He repeated, still watching the rolling waves through the window. The sun was going down, casting the world in hues of gold. "You know… spells, witchcraft, curses and the like. Do you believe in them?" His tone wasn't patronizing but you knew he must have been mocking you. Just because you had been sheltered and raised in comfort didn't mean you were childish. At any rate, he couldn't have been much older than you were.
Difficult as it was, you resisted the urge to roll your eyes. "I don't make a habit of dwelling on ghost stories," You replied, dryly. "Especially those spoken of by pirates."
Kol turned back to you, a quirk of amusement alight on his lips. "Is that so?" He wondered. "Pardon me for assuming, but that's not how things seemed last night."
So he did remember.
You frowned and crossed your arms, choosing to watch Draugr instead of his owner. You wanted to squirm under that heavy, ravenous gaze.
"Sailor's tales entertain me." You shrugged. "Nothing more."
"That's very practical of you, darling," He commended. You didn't like that smirk dancing in his eyes. "Might I be allowed to entertain you then?"
"I would prefer a straight answer," You muttered. He just flashed you a grin and hopped up to sit on a table.
"Long ago," He began, voice filled with a pleasant wistful nostalgia. "There was a boy blessed with magic. He spent his days in near constant mischief, indulging in every impulse and always pushing the boundaries in search of the next thrill. He reveled in his existence - in the rush and the power in his veins and the connection to the earth, sea, sky." The light in his eyes faded, melting into something bitter. Something cold and dead. "Then, one night, his little brother was mauled by a wolf."
"Oh." That was not where you'd thought this story was headed. Kol's eyes flicked to yours and you could see pain in them. Pain and anger.
"Fearing the loss of her other children, the boy's mother - a powerful witch herself - offered him and his siblings wine laced with blood and in so doing, she cast upon them a terrible curse. This magic, dark and powerful, dictated that her children might become immortal - they would be stronger, faster, unaging, and able to influence the thoughts and actions of others. But first-" Reaching for a cup of wine left on the table, he paused to take a sip. His eyes never left your own. You watched them grow dark as the sun outside sank beneath the window's view, casting his face in shadow. He sat the goblet down again and when he spoke, his tone was hollow and empty.
"-First they would have to die."
Now, you didn't necessarily want to encourage him, but you couldn't help being curious. His story reeled you in and held you captivated, much as before in the tavern.
"And did they?" You prompted when he failed to continue. "Die, I mean?"
Kol smiled but there was nothing in it.
"Yes." He nodded. "Their own father slaughtered them one by one that very night."
His eyes reminded you of a storm.
"And the boy?" You asked hesitantly.
Kol took a deep breath and tilted his head, watching you with consideration.
"When the boy awoke, he discovered himself changed. He was just as fast and strong as I described; however, to his horror, he realized he had been cut off from his magic - from the only thing that had ever made him happy. He felt helpless, terrified, empty, and alone." He paused and his eyes drifted down to his hands. "But above all, he felt hungry. See, his mother's curse had come with an unintended side effect - an insatiable hunger and an unquenchable thirst, unlike anything this boy or his siblings had ever known. Yet, the more they tried to appease this hunger, the more they came to realize something far more ominous.
"No drink could seem to satisfy, and any food put past their lips was to them naught but ash. They craved something else…"
He seemed to wait for you to inquire further, but your lips remained sealed. You didn't want to know. Kol tilted his head and raised a brow, smirking challengingly.
"What? Not curious to know more?"
You swallowed thickly and shook your head. That smirk of his stretched unnaturally wide - almost painfully.
He got up from his perch on the table and strolled back toward you, looking down at you for a moment before taking a seat by your side. You flinched away from him as he faced you. He was too close. Hidden within the folds of your skirt, you clutched the silver letter opener tight.
"Magic is a fickle thing," Kol continued. Draugr circled his feet affectionately and he smiled down at his pet. "Created by human blood they were... Now they would forever consume it. Unable to live for they could not die, neither yet were they dead; they were truly cursed."
"This boy had never before denied himself any fleeting impulse nor desire of his heart and that terrible hunger clawed at him like nothing else. He could not control it. Thus instead of seeking to help or understand him, his siblings thought it best to subdue their brother using a magical dagger that could put him to sleep for decades. Again and again, they betrayed him, until one day, he could bear it no more. He fled.
"In hopes of remaining hidden from his siblings, the boy joined the crew of a pirate ship. On one of his rare trips ashore to quench what little thirst he could, he met by chance a beautiful maiden with the most enticing blood he'd ever come across. After having spent so long on the brink of starvation, he simply couldn't resist."
Kol met your eyes. Something in them begged for understanding but you were far too unsettled to offer anything more than suspicion.
"That's an excellent tale, Kol." You drew yourself further away from him. "But I fail to see what it has to do with me."
The pirate bit his lip and looked away. "I know not what it is, but something within you is different," He whispered. "And I want to taste it."
Your heart nearly stopped. His story - this tale of magic - couldn't be real. He was just toying with you. He had to be.
"I'm not one to believe in curses, pirate," You reiterated, glaring coolly. "Only selfish, cruel men."
The boy chuckled darkly. "I am cruel, usually," He hummed, running a hand through his thick, silk-like curls. "I'm as selfish as they come - a hedonist, truly. Yet, for whatever reason, I don't want to hurt you." He laughed, shaking his head. "It's baffling…"
"Empty words." You pressed your lips together and shook your head, fighting back tears. "You're going to hurt me anyway," You accused venomously.
Kol sighed and shifted closer as though you sought his comfort, but you didn't. Your back was pressed against the headboard - you simply couldn't shy away any further.
"No, love. I don't want to hurt you… just-just taste you." Reaching out, he moved one hand to cup your cheek, and the other he settled on your knee. Your eyes flicked down briefly and your heart skipped. When you lifted your eyes again, you found he was already studying your reaction. An innocent, almost shy smile spread across his lips.
"Forgive me if I'm not comforted." Your eyes drifted down to his hand again and you swallowed thickly as fear rose within your throat, threatening to choke you. No man had ever touched you so intimately. Was your skin crawling, or were those sparks beneath his fingertips?
Kol tilted his head knowingly, yet his eyes were soft. He moved in closer, drawing far nearer to you than could be considered proper. Then, slowly, ever so slowly, he dragged his hand higher, resting it on your upper thigh. Your breath hitched in your throat, and each intake of air shuddered through you as the fear in your stomach mixed with something else. The boy tilted your chin up to meet his gaze.
"See? You don't have to despise me," He claimed. "One often has to pick a flower to admire its beauty, and like a flower, I can care for you - treasure you. Anything your heart desires, you may have just as long as I may keep you."
There was something distinctly sweet about the way Kol carefully began to dig his fingers into your soft flesh. The strength of his grip increased gradually, blooming into something not painful but exquisite. Had you not known better, you would have thought his hand was burning you for all the heat that seemed to seep through your skirts. A shiver ran down your spine and you simply couldn't hold back a tiny whimper as it escaped your lips. The boy grinned, stroking your cheek.
You shook your head, tightening your grip on your makeshift weapon. "You're sick!" You hissed.
He smiled mournfully. "I'm cursed."
You clenched your teeth. "I don't believe you." Withdrawing the letter opener from the folds of your dress, you cried out and flung yourself forward plunging its dull silver into his chest with all your might. The blade sank in up to its handle.
Kol flinched.
That was it. Nothing more than a flinch.
Raising a brow, the monster glanced down at the silver metal protruding from his midsection and frowned.
"I was wondering where that went," He commented idly. Then, he grabbed the handle and pulled it out. The blade glistened with red and your heart sank as you watched the hole in his chest stitch itself back together. His eyes flicked between you and the bloodied, useless trinket in his hand. "Now I must admit - I'm curious, love. After killing me, what exactly did you plan on doing next?"
You fell back in shock. Tumbling in a heap onto the floor, you pushed yourself back up onto your hands, staring at him with wide, terrified eyes.
"That's…" You shook your head, trembling. "That's not possible."
The monster smirked, seemingly relishing in your dread. "You had best start believing in ghost stories, darling," He said. "I'm afraid you're in one."
All thoughts of escape were ripped from your mind and you watched in horror as your captor's angelic countenance transformed into a devil's. Kol's eyes filled with an unholy blackness that seemed to draw the last remaining beams of sunlight from the chamber, plunging you into candle-lit gloom. Demonic veins spread across his cheeks like the creeping vines of a poisonous tree and his lips peeled back, revealing wicked razor-sharp fangs.
All you could do was shriek in sheer uncomprehending terror. Scrambling to get away from that thing, you stumbled to your feet and made a mad dash for the door. It wasn't that you thought you could make it. You knew you couldn't. You just needed to try.
A pair of arms wound around your waist and you screamed again. Not in surprise but simply with dread.
"Shhhh… Come now, sweetheart, it's alright," Kol's soft voice assured you. With a rush of air, you found yourself straddling his lap. You cried out and tried to throw yourself off of him but his arms felt as firm as prison bars.
"No." You shook your head, tears welling in your eyes. "No, no, no. Please. Please let me go. Don't hurt me. Please?"
You felt him wince but it did you no good. He just pulled you closer, weaving a hand into your hair.
"No, no. Shhh… I'm sorry, love." He held you as though you were something precious, rocking back and forth in a vain attempt to somehow comfort you. "I know you're frightened and I'm so sorry I'm scaring you, but you're going to be alright. It's all going to be alright."
"No! NO! You're gonna hurt me!" You sobbed. "Please don't hurt me! Please?"
"I have to, I'm sorry." Kol pressed a kiss to your cheek and his lips were soft and warm, but that couldn't make up for what he was about to do. He pulled away just enough to brush your hair off your neck. "I promise I'll be gentle with you, darling."
Hopelessness overtook you, ripping open a dark empty pit in your heart. It seemed as though the only choice you had left was to accept your fate.
"A-alright," You whimpered, releasing your tears to stream down your cheeks. Kol froze.
"Darling, are you-" He pulled back, searching your face with confusion. "Are you not angry with me?"
No. You were too scared to be angry.
You shook your head, eyes screwed shut. "I'm scared," You choked out. "I'm just scared."
That monster of a boy - you weren't sure what he was - cursed, pulling you into a tight embrace. "I know," He said. "I know you are and I'm sorry. But we're too far from shore now and I need you."
You pressed your face into his well-worn jacket, inhaling deeply. He smelled like black powder and ocean waves. "You said you would give me anything?" You sniffed.
His hand wove itself deeper into your hair, tugging on the roots as his arm around your waist constricted ever tighter, pressing you almost painfully against him. "Yes," He promised. "Yes, anything. What do you need?"
You couldn't believe what you were going to ask, but you didn't want to die feeling so empty.
"Could you hold me for a moment?" You whispered, voice crumbling to dust. The least you could ask for was a moment of peace before you died. Kol wasn't exactly your first choice for comfort but he was one of a finite number available. Though for whatever reason, be it obsession or madness, Kol at the very least seemed to care for your feelings somewhat.
He hesitated. "You want me to hold you?"
Not particularly. However, you would rather his arms around you over anyone else's on this accursed vessel. So you nodded.
"Alright," He breathed. You could feel him smiling. "Come here, darling."
Kol laid back, settling down among the pillows as he carried you with him. You were quite astonished at how gently he handled you - almost as though you were made of glass. Urging you to lay on top of him, he wrapped his arms firmly around your back and nuzzled his cheek against your hair affectionately.
You fisted his jacket and cried, pretending for a moment that the arms which held you didn't belong to the monster about to end your life. You pretended this was just a dream. You pretended you would see your father again. It was almost pleasant. Kol was warm. Every now and then, he would kiss your cheek, whispering sweet nothings in a language you didn't understand. Your tears ran dry eventually. Kol took to nosing along your jaw and throat while you sobbed quietly. It wasn't long before his lips began making the same rounds. Kol's butterfly kisses stopped on your pulse, lingering there and morphing into something a little less chaste. You'd never been kissed in such a way before. Maybe you liked it, maybe you didn't. What did it matter? You figured your time was up.
"Are you ready, sweet thing?" He murmured into your skin.
You shook your head. "No." You weren't ready to die. "But that doesn't matter."
He kissed your cheek as though that could replace an apology. "Just relax," He muttered soothingly. "Try to go to sleep." His hand rubbed circles into your back and it wasn't comforting but it was better than nothing at all.
"Will I wake up?" You wondered. After all, you'd always hoped to die in your sleep. There were worse ways to go.
"You will," He said. It didn't really matter if he was lying or not, you wouldn't believe him anyway.
"Kol?"
"Hmm?"
"I may not know what breed of devil you are but you're a horrid, filthy pirate and I hate you."
Kol brushed a strand of hair from your face with a thin smile, before leaning down to kiss your neck again.
"I know."
You closed your eyes and felt yourself drifting. The sea as your cradle rocked you to sleep and Kol spent the next little while combing his fingers through your hair. You weren't quite asleep, but you were close to it when you felt his teeth scrape your throat.
He bit down slowly, gently, pulling you closer as he sank his teeth deeper and deeper into your flesh. Horrid, burning pain engulfed your senses and you whimpered feebly. He stroked your side soothingly in response. A content purr-like noise rumbled in his chest as he drank down mouthful after mouthful of your blood. Kol moaned a little at the taste and bit down harder, seeming as though he couldn't get enough. It hurt and you discovered you had a few more tears to cry.
It wasn't too long before the groaning of the ship's timbers began to dull and you could no longer hear the spray of the sea. Your heart began to slow down more than it should. Despite being surrounded by Kol's pleasant warmth, you felt cold. You were dying.
So it surprised you when Kol's fangs retracted, tugging painfully on the broken skin. He was breathing heavily, though you couldn't see his face - too weak to open your eyes.
"Bloody hell, darling. What are you?" His voice was muffled and far away. Your thoughts were too muted with pain to do you much good so you just hummed and stretched in response.
Shaking his head, he leaned down again and began lapping sweetly at the still weeping marks, cleaning away any excess blood. Finally, he licked the wounds closed and sat up, drawing you into his lap where he held you as though you meant the world to him.
Wiping away the stray tear that had slipped down your cheek from his assault, the boy sighed and pressed the faintest kiss to your forehead.
"See, love?" He said. There was an awful lot of hope in his voice. His tone was thin - pleading almost, as his arms around you tightened. He drew a hand across your stomach, petting you slow and soft. "See? I-I didn't hurt you." You would disagree with that statement wholeheartedly if only you hadn't been so thoroughly drained.  "I didn't hurt you. I can control it." Oddly enough, his words seemed to be aimed more toward convincing himself. "I didn't hurt you. I didn't hurt you."
***
It was a problem, you thought, that you could no longer discern how you felt about your situation. The days weren’t bad. As a matter of fact, they were rather pleasant. Though you had been warned away from the water so strictly your entire life, it didn’t take you long to fall in love with the sea and its ever-changing beauty. You spent your days perched on the prow of the ship, watching the waves in their intricate dance. No crew member ever dared bother you again; however, you did come into friendly acquaintance with a sailor who was both deaf and mute. You learned that his name was Bora’Dain and he spoke using a system of hand gestures that apparently only Kol could understand. The two of them were rather close and seemed to enjoy insulting one another any time one of them turned their back. Although you quickly learned that attempting to play cards with either of them was an ill-fated maneuver, Bora’Dain readily made up for his frustrating winning streak by teaching you the art of knife-throwing. Your days were something to look forward to.
The nights were not quite so pleasant. Whatever unknown factor it was that made your blood so appealing, wasn’t something Kol could resist for long. While he was bright and full of laughter during the day, come eventide that wicked appetite of his curse returned. His gaze would linger and his hands begin to tremble the longer he tried to fight it. By nightfall, you always seemed to find yourself in his arms and he could never bring himself to let go. Thus, each night ended quite similarly - with his fangs buried in your neck, greedily consuming your very essence and a promise that he wasn’t going to do it again the next day. It was a promise he couldn’t keep.
The mornings, however, were the worst. You would awake at dawn only to find yourself in excruciating, feverish agony. Turns out, the human body isn’t meant to undergo extreme blood loss. You were so terribly ill each and every morning. It would be hours before you regained strength enough to stand. You weren’t sure if it was a curse or a blessing that you weren’t alone. Every morning, you would wake cradled in Kol’s arms and he would hold you as you cried.
“I don’t want to do this anymore,” You wept into his shirt one morning. Your entire body ached, your veins felt dry, your limbs were weak and useless, and your pulse and breathing were labored. “It hurts.”
Kol sighed and pulled you in closer, taking care not to aggravate your damaged flesh. “I took too much again, didn’t I?” You just tugged weakly on his shirt in response. He groaned and pressed a kiss to your hair. “I wish I could heal you.”
It was somewhat comforting to know that he was sincere in that statement at least. He had tried to feed you his blood before with disastrous results. For whatever reason, your body had rejected it. You’d nearly died. It was odd, according to Kol, aside from outrageously tempting blood, you were by all intents and purposes, entirely human. Yet, though meager, your body did seem to have its own form of increased healing - approximately a third the rate of any other human. Your body wouldn’t allow itself to be healed by any outside force, and that brought its own set of problems.
Namely, the scars.
Kol had decorated you with them. Dozens of pale raised marks stippled your neck, shoulders, back, wrists, and - lately - your thighs. All of the bites hurt, though some places were more sensitive than others. Kol just couldn’t seem to differentiate lust from bloodlust at times and it seemed he’d found a new favorite spot when you’d allowed him to start biting your inner thighs. He'd spent weeks begging for your permission and you thought that if you appeased him then perhaps he might mutilate you less often. He didn't. If anything, he'd continuously grown more eager, biting into your sensitive thighs with increasing vigor. Those wounds stung horribly, but the boy had become even more affectionate toward you once he’d had his fill. It was a trade-off you could stand.
“You must tire of hearing this, but I am striving to do better," He said.
"It feels as though you're getting worse," You whimpered. Kol's hand, stroking your thigh, brushed over one of his bites from the night before and you winced. He murmured an apology and pulled his hand away. Leaning down, he pressed his forehead to yours.
"I can't help it. You taste better the more I take," He admitted. "I don't know what you are, but it's beginning to concern me."
"Kol?" You opened your eyes, letting as much of your pain bleed into your voice as possible. "If you care about me, please just take me home?"
He closed his eyes. "Please don't ask me to do that, love."
"If you care about me, you'll take me home," You repeated firmly.
"I can't." The boy shook his head. "I can't let you go."
That was it, then.
"I don't want to die." You shuddered and coughed.
He sat up, lifting you into his lap to rest against his chest. "You're not going to die."
"You're going to kill me."
"No!" He buried his face in your neck. "No, I won't."
"Then let me go home," You pressed.
"If I take you back, I will slaughter your entire town," Kol growled. "My siblings will find and dagger me once more. Is that what you want?"
"No." You coughed again, groaning. "But you're killing me."
"No!" He ground out. "I'm not killing you. You're alright. I wouldn't do something like that to you. I know when to stop. I'm not killing you." Perhaps he could convince himself, but not so you.
"Then can you please just give me one day to rest?" You begged. "I'll feed you tomorrow, but please - I just need one day."
He took a deep breath, shaking his head. "If there were anything else to eat out here, I would take it. In a heartbeat. But there isn't," He stressed. "So, unless you're keeping a map to several fully manned vessels in that corset of yours - I rather doubt it - then the best we can do is find out what the bloody hell you are."
You blinked.
As though someone had lit a candle in your mind, a plan began to form. A horrid, disgusting, desperate plan. The sort of scheme one comes up with after spending too much time around pirates.
"Well, it's not in my corset but I think I may have what you're looking for."
Kol looked up, raising a brow. "I beg your pardon?"
With the weight of his gaze now settled entirely on you, the words seemed to tangle together in your mouth. You glanced away, fiddling with the buttons on his shirt.
"M-my father," You stammered.
"What about him?" Kol demanded, resting his hand on your hip.
"He's a-a merchant - a prominent one. Recently, he was given charge over a fleet of ships," You told him.
Kol's eyes narrowed and a smirk tugged at his lips. "You know where they are."
You nodded. "I know where they are."
For a moment, you feared he wouldn't believe you - that he would think you were bluffing. Then that smirk broadened into a grin and he squeezed your hip gently.
"Very well, darling. What sort of cargo are these ships carrying?"
Your heart stuttered. You didn't know. "What?"
"Alas, I have to pay my men with something." He shrugged.
If he was looking for anything in particular then you were screwed, but you would say just about anything he wanted to hear if it would save your life. "Erm, anything, I suppose. Gold, silver, fine cloth, even slaves on occasion."
His eyes darkened. "People aren't cargo, love."
You swallowed thickly. "Then do something about that."
"Very well." He grinned and you yelped in surprise as he swept you into his arms and stood. "Shall we?"
Kol was a rather whimsical being, thus his moods could change on a dime. When this kind, playful side of him came out, it almost made you forget about the monster that bit you every night. You had learned to enjoy his better moods when possible, so you allowed yourself to giggle as he kissed your cheek and brought you out on deck.
"Gents! We have a heading!"
"Headin'?" A sandy haired sailor shouted, shielding his face from the sun. "Whot headin'?"
"Excellent query." Kol glanced down at you. "What's the heading, my love?"
You didn't yet have the strength to shout over the din. "North by Northeast," You replied.
"North by Northeast!" He declared, turning to ascend the steps leading up to the helm. "We sail toward fame, fortune, and a bloody five course meal!"
Within a few hours, whatever healing your body possessed seemed to work its magic. You were up and feeling much better - excited even. If you were lucky and found one of your father's ships within the day, then Kol wouldn't need to feed on you that night. That thought alone brought you much-needed relief and surprisingly enough, you didn't feel the least amount of guilt pertaining to what you'd done to obtain said relief.
"You know what would be bloody useful?" You called over your shoulder. Kol, Bora'Dain, and a few other crew mates sat behind you, playing cards on a makeshift table they'd brought out. Draugr was out and about on deck today, having caught several rats, he was quite content to curl up in your lap and present his ears for scratching. You happily obliged your favorite crew member.
The day was by no means bright nor cloudless. Morning mists had lingered over the water and the sun remained hidden behind layers of cloud. You were greatful for a respite from the heat; however, the choppy waves which agitated the sea hadn't made for a pleasant recovery from your usual sickness. Even through the fog, you were still hunting your father's ships but there was a lot of ocean to cross in the meantime.
"A way to prevent 'Dain from being such an insufferable cheat?" Kol guessed, scowling at the cards in his hand.
"Dis from you's, eh? Belligerent cad, you are." Ho-Jon scoffed. At hardly fourteen years of age, the black-haired boy was the youngest soul on board - a street urchin Kol had picked up in Singapore.
The entire crew, you had noticed, was a rather unorthodox bunch. It would seem Kol had collected for himself an assemblage of outcasts. Every brand of pariah, vagabond, or persona non grata was welcomed aboard, so long as they adhered to Kol's rules - from what you had observed, the pirate abided by a strict moral code which might have been useful to you, if only you could puzzle out what it was. However, for pirates, you had to admit, Kol's crew wasn't bad. For the most part, they treated you with more respect than plenty of the noblemen your father had encouraged you to meet.
"I'm the captain here -" Kol smirked. Despite his rank, he never treated his crew as lesser than himself, save in jest. "-cheating's my right."
Ho-Jon rolled his eyes.
"Actually, I was going to say a compass," You continued. "One that points directly toward whatever you want most."
"That would be convenient," Kol agreed.
Bora'Dain snorted and Kol glanced at him. The deaf man made a few gestures and he scoffed, leaning back in his chair.
"And how exactly do you figure that?"
Bora'Dain smirked but apparently felt no need to explain himself.
"He say compass useless?" Ho-Jon guessed. His accent was odd - like a dozen dialects rolled into one and though his grammar was somewhat lacking, the boy's knowledge of curses and profanity was quite extensive. Then again, he had no impairments in understanding Kol's impressive vernacular, so perhaps he just enjoyed his near-unintelligible slang.
"That he did." Kol nodded, crossing his arms. "Specifically in my hands." The black haired kid tossed his head back, laughing. Kol raised a brow. "Care to elaborate?"
"Well in'a you's hands, compass would on'a poin' du one t'ing." Ho-Jon shrugged and pointed in your direction. "Her!"
Kol's eyes flicked to yours and your cheeks flushed with heat. He didn't like you that way, you were sure. He just liked your blood. He turned his eyes back to their game, gesturing for Ho-Jon to take his turn.
"Mate, I think you best keep in mind the notion that it is within my power to keel-haul you at any time," He mused casually.
"Eh." The fourteen year old waved a hand. "Don'a think you do it."
"You need to broaden your imagination," Kol hummed.
The kid grinned. "There's is always broads in me imagination," He announced proudly.
You snorted. "And here I was sure you'd never even met a lass," You teased.
"Met you!" He countered.
"Yes, however, seeing as I was kidnapped, I don't count," You pointed out.
"Commandeered," Kol corrected, grinning wryly. "Kidnapped makes it sound rather fiendish."
"Stealing a lady from her bed is, by definition, rather fiendish," You said. "Not to mention you lot are, after all, pirates?"
Kol smirked. "Alas, the lady has a point."
"Of course I do," You quipped. "That comes naturally from being the only civilized person aboard this ship."
Ho-Jon gasped, playfully affronted. "You's a callin' me a heathen?"
"How uneducated of you, love," Kol said, shaking his head. "I'm the heathen, he's  naught but your common knave."
"So it's true what Bora'Dain told me?" You asked. "In your mortal life, you were a Viking?"
Kol shot the African man a reproachful look. "I told you that in confidence, mate."
Bora'Dain shrugged and made a few gestures, one of which appeared rather rude.
"I don't believe that's any of your business," Kol said, voice clipped. Whatever was said must have upset him somewhat. The deaf man pointed at you, made another series of hand signs and scowled. You supposed that meant it was a negative statement. "Well if that be the case, you can resign your opinions to yourself." He snapped. A capricious smirk spread across his lips. "Oh, that's right, you do that anyway."
Bora'Dain didn't seem very amused by his retort, but the vampire paid him no further heed.
"Is it true?" You asked, swinging your legs back and forth. "Are you five hundred years old, or not?"
You could see Kol's jaw working. "Its true," He ground out. Then, trying to make light of it - "I've been sailing these seas since old 'Dain here was but a wee lad."
"So I suppose you've seen your fair share of Krakens then?" You asked, attempting to steer the conversation away from whatever had put him in such a foul mood.
"Krakens, love," He said, correcting your pronunciation. "And I'd like to think so, along with other manifestations of terrors from the deep." He blinked. "Speaking of which…" The easygoing smirk slipped from his face and he paused, tilting his head as if listening to something. A moment later, Kol stiffened.
"Please tell me I'm the only one who hears that."
"What?" Ho-Jon laughed, tossing his cards down on the table. "Tha' Imma winnin'?"
Kol ignored him. Standing, he crossed the deck to lean out over the railing, squinting into the watery goom. You noticed then that the lingering fog had thickened considerably through the last twenty minutes or so and the waves felt increasingly tumultuous.
"Ho-Jon, cover your ears," Kol mumbled, turning away from the railing with a weary expression.
The boy frowned. "You wha'?"
"Do as I say. Now!" Kol ordered. "Go wake your brother, and lock yourselves in my cabin. Do not come out until I come to get you, understand?"
Ho-Jon nodded sharply and scarpered off, disappearing below deck.
"Kol?" You caught his arm. "What's going on?"
"Sirens," He answered grimly. He turned back to the remaining pirates, shouting. "SIRENS!"
Moments later, you heard them.
A song crested over the lapping of waves, an ethereal chorus in harmony with the winds. Dozens of voices layered over each other, their dulcet tones rich and enchanting, enticing you to listen. The words ones you knew well - sweet as a lullaby. Casting your eyes down to the water, you were surprised to meet the gaze of a beautiful young woman with vibrant red hair and eyes the color of the icebergs to the north.
"Come, little one," She entreated. "Sing with us."
You couldn't quite say what made you do so.
Early one summer’s morning, I carelessly did stray
Down by the Walls of Whapping, where I met a sailor gay
“Draw them to the edge, little one,” The woman in the water said. “We can free thee from these fiends.” Her sultry voice was somehow friendly.
“You misunderstand,” You answered, frowning. “These are my friends.”
A pitying, almost motherly expression dawned across the woman’s face. “The dark one hurts thee, child,” She said. “We’ve heard thou cryest in the night and have come to avenge thy pain. Draw him hither, young one. Draw him to the edge.”
Was this ethereal creature right? Could you be free of him?
Conversing with a young lass, who would seem to be in pain
Saying: 'William, when you go, I fear, you'll nare be seen again.'
“How?” You breathed.
The siren tilted her head, petal-like lips pinching in a frown. “Knowest not thy power? Thy mother didst thou nary seek?”
You shook your head. “I never knew my mother. All my life, my father kept me sequestered from the sea.”
In the water, the woman smiled. Her teeth were rather sharp. “Thou holdest in thy hands the winds and the waves and the hearts of men. All shall obey thy will, daughter of the deep, for thou art as one of us.”
“I don’t want to be,” You worried. “I merely wish to go home.”
“Be free of the monster,” She said in lieu of an answer. “The blood he’s consumed will endear him to thee. Come now, draw him to the edge. Give him to us.”
“What will you do to him?” You wondered.
“We would drown him!” A chorus of voices trilled in delight. “Drag him to the depths and lay his corpse on the seafloor to rest!”
You blinked, brows furrowing. Was that what you truly wanted? Did you genuinely desire that Kol should spend eternity drowning for what he’d done to you?
All doubts were ripped from your mind as your eyes, seemingly of their own accord, sought Kol from among the chaos. He tossed a keg of black powder into the waves and looked up. When his gaze met yours, a power within you quivered with excitement. The singing grew louder, empressing on something in your very soul, compelling you to join in. You reached for him.
His hair it does in ringlets hang, his eyes as black as coal.
My happiness attend him, wherever he may go.
Kol’s eyes narrowed and he shook his head, as if trying to clear away an unpleasant thought. He began backing away. You reached for him again.
“Wait,” You whispered. He stopped, seeming unable to tear his eyes away.
“What is this?” He demanded. You shouldn’t have been able to hear him over the singing and the chaos, but it was as though your minds were connected. “What are you doing?”
“Come here.” You smiled as he obeyed. The boy took a few steps toward you and his expression crumpled, contorting in agony.
“Stop it!”
You feigned a hurt expression. “I thought you favored me.” Your tone seemed to twist, managing to sound profoundly broken, though you hardly had to try. ”Please hold me?” You were, in a way, a predator offering herself up as bait. “I want you,” You lied.
“No, you don’t.” He shook his head, yet drew closer all the same. “You hate me.”
“No,” You said. “It’s not your fault.” He craved so desperately to hear those words.
“You’re lying,” The boy hissed. You could see the conflict in his soft brown eyes.
“Kol, please?”
From Tower Hill to Blackwall, I will wander, weep, and moan
All for my jolly sailor until he sails home.
He was in your arms within a heartbeat, curling around you and holding you tight.
Humming along with the spirits in the water you could almost feel what your voice was doing to them - to him. The song washed over him in waves, preying upon every weakness, harnessing every vulnerability in order to better weave itself into a cruel illusion, perfectly tailored to the boy in your arms.
Kiss him… A soft yet demanding voice whispered in your mind. It was less of a voice and more of a craving - a dark, twisted, salacious desire that welled up within you as soon as he was close enough. You weren’t sure where it came from or how you knew what to do. All you knew was that you wanted to pull that boy under and watch as his own lust starved him of air. You needed to pull Kol in close and tease him with his most desperate desire until it burned so fierce as to consume him completely, driving him to madness. This was what you were, you realized.
A siren.
So you kissed him and he took to it like a man possessed. His arms circled your waist and he pressed into you, devouring your lips with frantic desperation, as though he knew this was a mere fabrication and yet was determined to bask in its warmth as much as he could. A starving animal that boy was, gluttonous for affection even if it were naught but a mirage. Kol begged you for entrance but you denied him, refusing to gratify his desire. Clutching onto his shirt, you leaned back…
And toppled into the ocean.
Kol hardly seemed to notice. It was pathetic, really. He was drowning - or going to - and he would rather kiss you than save himself. Because in this beautifully perverse fantasy, you loved him in spite of all he’d done and Kol wanted that, he wanted it more than anything. He was willing to die in pursuit of a delusion. Pathetic.
Kol moaned into your mouth and you swallowed each one like candy, drawing in water as well but that didn't matter. His heart rate began to slow and that terrible power inside you fluttered, squealing in delight. He was dying and it was ecstasy.
A bright orange flash struck your closed eyes moments before a massive, echoing blast shot through your body. The sirens in the water surrounding you shrieked and scattered in the wake of the explosion. You cried out in pain, lungs filling with water, and watched as Kol’s eyes fluttered open. Without a second thought, Kol grabbed your arm and towed you toward sunlight. You shot past the surface, gasping and coughing. Pain pulsed white-hot in your gut and you were vaguely aware of rope being tossed toward you before you slipped into blackness.
When you awoke, you were met with the sight of Ho-Jon’s face mere inches away from your own. You startled awake and punched him.
He stumbled back, holding a hand to his cheek. “Oh, I be’a seen how it is!” The kid huffed. “You’s just a’tryin’ to kill everybody now, eh?!”
You gasped. “Bloody hell, Ho-Jon! I’m so sorry!”
“S’okay, your high-demoness…ness.” He waved you off. “Don’t eat me and we’ll call it a draw!”
Your brows shot up. “I beg your pardon?”
The black-haired boy shrugged. “Not my pardon you’s be neeedin’ to beg.” The door opened behind him and Ho-Jon sent you an almost sympathetic look before turning to leave, muttering something about the cost of watching pretty women sleep.
Kol moved to stand at the foot of the bed and you pushed yourself upright, though you were sure no posture could conceal just how terrified of him you were. His eyes were freezing obsidian pits and to stare into them was to surely bear witness to the very depths of hell. You'd tried to kill him. He folded his arms and you could see his jaw working as he studied every inch of you.
"Now, now, darling," He muttered almost to himself. "What am I going to do with you?"
Swallowing thickly, you scrambled as far away from him as you could as he rounded to sit on the bed. He didn't look at you, instead opting to tug on a loose string unraveling from the once pristine silken sheets, now irreparably stained with your blood.
"Are you aware," He began casually. "just how unfathomably lucky you are that I can't truly drown? Another minute or two and you would have been just as dead as whatever poor bastard you were attempting to suffocate." The pirate chuckled but there was no humor in it. "See, the unexpected siren attack is precisely why I prefer to keep a deaf man aboard. If not for Bora'Dain, I think both of us would be rather uncomfortable right about now."
You bit your lip and averted your gaze, electing to remain silent. Kol watched you expectantly for a moment, then sighed. Within the blink of an eye, his hand shot out and caught your ankle in an iron grip, wrenching you back toward him. Your breath hitched as he lowered himself to hover domineeringly over you, resting his weight on one arm. You could taste hints of rum on his breath - he'd been drinking.
"So, my love…" Kol mused, cold eyes flicking over your face. "What do you have to say for yourself?"
You shook your head. "I-I don't know," You whispered.
He raised a brow. "You don't know?" Kol slipped his hand beneath your skirts and slowly began crawling it up your leg. A shiver raced down your spine and you swallowed thickly.
"No," You replied, breathless. Some long-dormant part of your brain told you that he was very dangerous at this moment. He was a predator and you were nothing.
"Really?" Kol's hand reached your thigh and he brushed his thumb over the freshest of the bite marks. You hissed in pain and he smirked. "So you didn't knowingly employ a hereditary seduction charm in an ill-conceived attempt to send me to the depths?" He questioned. You opened your mouth to reply but he cut you off, stroking his bite warningly. It had only just healed over - still so sore. "Don't lie to me, darling. Otherwise, I may be forced to do something unpleasant."
You pressed your lips together, blinking away tears. "Please don't get mad."
"I won't," He hummed, smiling in a way that was almost kind. "So long as you tell me the truth." His fingers probed around your sensitive spot where his teeth had left bruises, kneading the flesh a little until he found the site that made you whine. "Ah there it is," He breathed, sickly satisfied. "Go ahead, pet."
"I wasn't trying to drag you down," You told him. "I swear, I didn't know I could do that to you."
Kol sighed. "Oh, sweetheart." He shook his head. "I thought I told you not to lie."
"N-no! I didn't-"
His fingers dug into your thigh, clenching painfully around the wound, pulling the skin tight. You cried out, straining to get away but his grip on your leg was stronger than a vice.
"I'm not lying!" You begged, tears streaming down your face. "I didn't realize what was happening! I give you my word!"
"I see." He muttered, maintaining that excruciating pressure. "When you pulled us into the ocean, did you wish for me to die?" You whimpered, shaking your head as you braced for pain. "Darling…" Your torturer practically sang. "The truth, if you please."
"Wait, don't-" Kol tightened his grip, bruising your flesh and the taught, freshly healed skin split apart. You shrieked as hot, crisp agony rent through you with savage talons. Kol released your thigh but didn't remove his hand, allowing your slick, crimson blood to seep from the reopened wounds anew. All the while his face remained impassive - emotionless - as he swept his thumb back and forth over the riven flesh, painting your skin red.
"It was for but one moment," You wept softly. "I didn't know what was happening, I swear to you. I-I couldn't stop."
Kol inhaled sharply and you flinched, yet no pain came. "You did this on instinct?" He asked in hardly a whisper.
You nodded, still sobbing. "Yes."
"You couldn't control it?"
"No," You rasped. "It made me want to. I couldn't stop."
"And that's the truth?"
"Yes." Finally, you dared to open your eyes. Kol's expression was no longer cold, his eyes held regret. He nodded and pressed his forehead to yours.
"You have my sincerest apologies, love. Forgive me for leaping to conclusions." Then he sat up and removed his hand from your skirts. Blood coated his fingers. The boy stared at it for a moment before lapping it up ravenously.
"I should have known you were a bloody siren," He laughed, sucking the last drops from his fingers. "Though, I suppose that not knowing is precisely the point."
Thoroughly exhausted, you sighed, allowing yourself to relax though only slightly. "I understand not what this means," You mumbled rather weakly. "What am I?"
He shrugged and laid back, facing you with a playful smile teasing his lips and you wished it could last. You liked the gentle, attentive, flirtatious side of him - the way he treated you as though your smile were the most valuable thing in all the world. Yet when he grew angry, that boy disappeared and a wildly possessive, bloodthirsty beast took control before you had time to react.
The rapid change was nothing new. Kol's moods reminded you of the sea itself, every bit as whimsical, changing, and untamable as the roiling currents. He could torture you one moment and dry your tears the next. In fact, that was exactly what he did. Kol reached out and swept his thumb over your cheek, tenderly wiping away your pain with the same hand that had mutilated your thigh.
"If I had to guess," He hummed consideringly. "I'd wager you were a hybrid - a human with siren blood - presumably from your mother's side seeing as you never knew her. Your father is human, yes?" You nodded hesitantly and Kol frowned. "And he kept this from you all your life?"
"I suppose he did." You nodded, feeling empty. Timidly, you met his gaze. "Might you explain to me what it all means?"
"Of course." He smiled and took your hand in his, pressing a soft kiss to the back. "What would you like to know?"
You bit your lip, cheeks reddening as you watched Kol tenderly kiss each of your fingertips before nuzzling into your palm. It was as though he were two different people.
Innumerable questions danced in your mind, but you settled on only a few.
"Are there others like me?"
Kol shrugged, brushing his thumb over the back of your hand. "All factors considered, I'm inclined to answer no. It's quite possible you may be the only of your kind in the world."
"How come?" You frowned. "Why do I alone exist?"
"I think that's rather simple, actually. " He smirked. "Full sirens may survive on land for naught but a few hours; thus, I believe your answer would be fornication." He chuckled as your blush deepened. "Although, I must admit that I am extremely curious as to how your father managed it."
You raised a brow, taken aback. "What do you mean?"
"Well, I may not possess any personal experience in the matter, but…" He trailed off as if deep in thought. "You know, I do believe it would be rather difficult to properly bed a woman when she would rather drag you to the bottom of the ocean to pick your bones clean of flesh…" Kol flashed you a raffish grin.
Your cheeks burned and you gaped at him, floundering for something to say. "Wh- Excuse me?"
"Basic attributes of a siren, love," Kol reasoned, casually. "Shall I make a list? Uncontrollable desire to drag a man to the depths? Yes. Body and voice crafted by the gods? Absolutely. Baleful hunger for flesh of man?" He shot you a look.
"Of course not!" You exclaimed reproachfully.
Kol rolled his eyes. "Obviously you don't openly display all of them, fringing on your hybrid status, but I'd bet they're in there somewhere…"
"No!"
"It's nothing to be ashamed of," He teased, grinning. "If you're ever feeling the persuasion, I know a few places that serve the best-"
"Kol!" You laughed and elbowed him in the side. You weren't sure what possessed you to do it when he'd been so cruel mere minutes before but it felt natural. "I am not a cannibal!"
"How unfortunate. That could have been fun."
You giggled for a moment and sighed. "All that said, what is a siren… truly?" You inquired. That wasn't the question you really wanted to ask but it was the one you spoke. Kol drew in a breath and pressed his lips together. His soft brown eyes drifted to your hand, studying every detail as he took his time mulling over his answer.
"Sirens are, first and foremost, shape-shifters, darling." He began. "Their appearance depends entirely upon those who behold them as they take on whatever form an individual finds supremely enticing. A siren's powers of seduction are ambient, contained not only in one's voice but in their entire essense - down to the tiniest detail."
"Do you think me beautiful?" You found yourself wondering.
"Yes." The boy flung his other arm around your waist, drawing you in closer. "Effortlessly you enchant me, darling. Your eyes, your skin, your hair… your blood." His eyes closed and he smiled. Not a smirk, or a threatening flash of teeth, but a real boyish grin. "Yes. Yes, the scent of it, the taste of it, the timbre of your heartbeat. All of it. So perfectly delectable." His nose nudged the heel of your palm and Kol groaned longingly. Then he tugged on your hand a little more and planted his lips over the throbbing pulse inside your wrist. He hummed contentedly and your breath hitched as Kol took a special interest in tracing the veins in your wrist with his tongue as though they formed the most interesting treasure map in the world.
"O-Oh." You couldn't understand why you liked it so much when he was affectionate with you.
Now thoroughly distracted, you didn't want to disturb him and instead silently watched that boy lick your skin sweetly, so sweetly. For once, the action was absent of the constant hunger that seemed to control him. With eyes closed and expression docile, he reminded you of an affectionate pup. You tried to pretend as though you didn't like it.
"Is this magic the reason you relish hurting me so much?" You wondered, tone soft and intentionally idle. Kol froze and opened his eyes, looking at you as if you had run him through on a cutlass.
"You think I enjoy hurting you?" He asked softly.
"Why else would you be so eager to torture me each night?"
"No, love." He sighed and offered you a rueful smile. "That's not me," Kol promised. "Euphoria from pain will always be my curse and I can no more control it than you can control your desire to lure a man beneath the waves."
You nodded. Oddly enough, you understood. The need to draw Kol to the water was still there, even now. It wasn't something you actively thought about and it didn't matter if it made sense or not. You just wanted it.
"I don't want to hurt you," Kol continued,  fixing you with those fathomless eyes. You fought the urge to shrink from beneath them. "In fact, I would do just the opposite if only you would let me. I don't know if it's strictly your nature or mine, but please understand, love, that it is my deepest and most fervent desire to pleasure you until the only word you can manage to pass between those perfect lips is my name."
"O-oh…" Well, his words certainly left little room for debate. You flushed and tried to move further away from him, but Kol reached out and took your hand, pressing a soft kiss to your knuckles.
"Alas, I will wait until that is what you want," He promised. "For now, I'll settle for ransacking your father's ships." He got up and held out his hand to help you. "Come along, darling. We can't be far behind."
As it turned out, you weren't very far behind your father's ships at all. A morbid sense of relief washed over you as you caught sight of white sails on the horizon. In spite of Kol’s reassurances, you knew you couldn’t trust him. You would have to look out for yourself.
Upon beginning your approach, you realized the only flaw in your plan. Your father’s merchant vessel was spectacularly well-armed - prepared to fight off any attempt at piracy. The Maria-Luna, as it was called, had easily twice the cannons of the ship you stood on - fondly named The Hanged Man’s Deceit. Furthermore and to wit, Kol was currently running a skeleton crew as honor among thieves is evidently a hard thing to come by - a rather untoward situation from where you stood, taking count of the veritable army of hired soldiers you could see roaming on deck. 12 on 50 didn’t strike you as the best of the odds.
“I think we might need more guns,” You commented, lowering the spyglass you’d borrowed from Bora’Dain. Beside you, Ho-Jon threw his head back and laughed. “What?” You demanded. He turned to you with a lazy grin.
“Oh, we’a got some tin’ betta’ den guns,” He said. You opened your mouth to ask but a voice from behind you stole your attention.
“Gentlemen!” Kol stood on the railing of the ship’s prow, grinning like a hungry fox. “Empty your pockets and take stock of the rum, I expect you ready to board on my signal!” His eyes found yours and he winked, stripping off his jacket before tossing it to you. “Hold this for me, would you?” Then he lept from the ship and dove beneath the waves.
“What the bloody hell’s he think he’s doing?” You exclaimed, shrugging the well-worn coat over your shoulders.
“Just’a wait, M’lady,” The black-haired boy smirked. Your eyes narrowed as you caught a glimpse of a dark silhouette darting through the water. Moments later, you raised Bora’Dain’s spyglass just in time to watch him climb out of the ocean and onto the Maria-Luna’s rear balcony. Shaking the water from his hair, he looked almost directly at you and proffered a mock salute before slipping inside. It was about two minutes later that the Hanged Man’s Deceit drew close enough for you to hear the screaming. Your face grew pale.
“H-he’s killing them,” You stammered. “He’s killing them all!”
Ho-Jon snorted. “Whaddid’ya think he was gonna do?”
You shook your head. “I-I don’t-” You hadn’t thought this plan through before proposing it. These ships belonged to your father. It was entirely possible for someone you knew to be aboard!
The kid shot you an odd look. “Sorry to say, M’lady but you’s should’a be happy, no? You survive dis’ long ‘cuz him hold back. Others dead way faster den you’s,” He said solemnly.
You spun to face him. “That bastard’s kidnapped other women like me?”
“Nah!” He waved a hand. “They’s all done asked to come. Only lasted two, maybe three days though.” The kid made a face. “Annoyin’ strumpets, they was.”
“I see,” You said, pursing your lips.
“Not you’s though!” He added cheerfully. “You’s, uh… kind, no? You’s say: ‘G’mornin, Ho-Jon!’ And ‘G’night, Ho-Jon!’ And ‘Perhaps don’a stick yer foot in da cannon, Ho-Jon!’" He grinned, displaying gapped teeth. "You’s nice.”
You rolled your eyes, shoving his shoulder playfully. “That’s called being decent. You should try it sometime.
Ho-Jon shrugged. “Nev’a learned. No’a nice du me budd’a rats.” You could hear the scars in his voice. “Kol done pull’a me outta’ da gutters in Singapore - owe him me life. Sometimes it hard though.”
“Why?” You asked.
The kid offered you a wry smile. “Don’ much like a hearin’ ya’ cry, M’lady.”
Touched, you wrapped an arm around him and pressed a kiss to his forehead even though he was nearly as tall as you. “Ho-Jon?” You said, smiling. “Let it never be said that you are anything less than a gentleman.”
The fourteen-year-old blushed. “Danka’, M’lady,” He mumbled. You ruffled his hair and he quickly shuffled off.
Evidently, Kol’s interpretation of giving a signal was to fire a chain shot from one of the Maria-Luna’s own cannons into the ship’s mast. Bora’Dain, who was a the helm, then skillfully provided to maneuver the Hanged Mans Deceit into position alongside the Maria-Luna. Corpses of soldiers and sailors alike - dozens of them - littered the deck and Kol stood, cavalier as ever, among them. He was soaked with blood and you couldn’t be sure how much was from others and how much was his own, seeing as his once white shirt now bore several vibrantly red holes.
“Greetings, rat bastards!” He spread his hands, grinning boyishly as the crew boarded. “May my spoils be yours!”
Whoops and hollers sounded from the crew as they went about looting the ship while you remained where you were. Guilt rendered your stomach uneasy and you didn’t feel much like rooting through the pockets of cadavers for loose change. More disturbing was just how little blood remained around them all.
Kol’s eyes lit up as he turned and caught sight of you. Before you could blink, he was standing in front of you, hands seizing your hips as he lifted you into the air, twirling you around. You weren’t sure whether to laugh or scream and you were still trying to process that decision by the time he set you back on your feet. He pulled you into another embrace immediately, tangling his fingers in your hair.
You raised a brow, frowning. “Kol? Are you ill?”
He shook his head. “Not at all, darling,” He said, burying his face in your hair. “No, I feel good. I-I’m full. Yes, I am completely full.” His arms around you tightened. “I haven’t felt this good in ages.”
A breath of relief that you’d been holding for weeks finally passed your lips and you relaxed, allowing yourself to melt into him. “How wonderful,” You breathed.
Kol kissed your shoulder, then your neck, then your jaw. “You don’t have to hate me anymore,” He whispered.
“Maybe not.”
For a while things were good. You were, honestly, happy. Your days were spent among friends, learning to swash-buckle and sail. Your nights were spent in comfort, cradled in the arms of a man who adored you. Your mornings were spent in bliss, filled with soft words, loving touches, and warm kisses that made your heart melt. All you had to do was provide the locations of your father's ships. As long as you did that - as long as Kol was fed - he didn't have to hurt you.
All was well until you directed him to the wrong ship. All was well until you spotted a familiar countenance among the bodies.
"Father?" You whispered, peering past the morning mist.
He wasn't supposed to be there.
"FATHER!"
He hated sailing. The motion of the sea made him sick. He owned the boats but he never accompanied them.
"No! No, no, no!"
His glassy eyes stared off into the distance, dead and unfeeling. His jacket was torn and stained with blood. You knelt by his side and clasped his cold, limp hands, screaming for him to wake up.
He didn't.
You couldn't be responsible for this - he wasn't supposed to be there.
No.
No, you weren't the one responsible.
A bloody pirate stood behind you. He was the one to blame. He was the one who had kidnapped you from your home. He was the one who tortured you - drove you to desperation. He was the one who had torn your father's throat apart. He was the one at fault.
Closing your father's dead eyes, slowly you stood.
"You. Did. This."
"Darling, I-"
"Darling?" You hissed. "Darling?" You spun around, seething with cold, violent hatred. "You cruel, capricious, selfish bastard! You break in to my home, steal me from my bed, feed on my blood for days, torture me, threaten me, kill my father - and you have the audacity to call me 'darling'?" You didn't care if you upset him - didn't care if he killed you. What more could you possibly lose? "Pretty words can't heal a knife's wretched work."
"I didn't know it was him."
You laughed, loud and bitter like waves crashing against razor-sharp rocks. "Do you genuinely think that earns you clemency?"
He didn't even have the decency to feign regret.
"I never intended for this to happen," He said.
"I CARE NOT FOR YOUR INTENTIONS!"
The wind picked up, swirling in a cyclone around you, driven by your rage and grief. Sea and wind would obey your will - they belonged to you. That was something he could not steal.
Tearing your way to the prow of the ship, you peered down into the water and screamed. Tears dripped from your cheeks, diffusing in the infinite ocean.
"Where are you?" You seethed, grip crushing the wooden railing until it splintered. "Damn it all, where are you?! I know you're there! I feel you watching! You said you would avenge me, now where are you?!"
Voices filtered up from the deep, bringing comfort and power.
"We art here for thee, little one. Fear not, for thine sisters surround thee."
"You said you would help me."
"Thy pain is strong, child. What desirest thou?"
"A rhythm of destruction," You answered. "And a watery grave."
"Be it as thou sayest, but such power demands a price. Thy sisters hunger, child. Wilt thou deny us their meat?"
"No."
You could feel the excitement of your sisters in the water. Their voices trilled with glee. As their melody began to rise over the waves, you offered it your soul.
My sailor hath betrayed me
His lapse I must abhor
Kol had hurt you for the last time. Now he would feel your pain. They would all feel your pain.
He did bite that hand which fed him
I'll suffer here no more
The clouds overhead swirled and blackened like a man with a rotten wound. The sea began to churn and toss, reaching - reaching upward to gently smother the sailors in your grasp and drag you all down to twilight depths. The winds howled and bellowed, proclaiming your hatred with the lungs of gods.
If the sea could know my anguish
A foul tempest wouldst be born.
Fear filled that monster's eyes but your own had twisted into a mirror. He would find no mercy there.
For hell, a fury hath no
Quite like a woman's scorn.
"Y/N, stop this."
The stinging scent of ozone saturated the air and you inhaled it deeply. "I'm afraid I don't want to, Kol."
A crack of lightning split the sky and the heavens opened. Slicing, driving rain poured down from above.
"You know you do. You're angry and you've got plenty of reason to be but you need to stop," He said. "You need to control this."
"No." You smiled, teeth sharper than they'd been before. "I shan't need to do anything for you, ever again."
"You'll damn us all!"
"Yes," You laughed, hair flowing in the wind as though you might flood the whole world. "Yes, damn you, Kol. I would damn you all to Davy Jones locker!"
"You can't kill me," Kol claimed. "Not like this."
"You're right." Your voice became as the wind - as the very storm itself. "But my pain will end and you will be lost to my sisters - forever drowning in the ocean's deepest pit until the end of time. Your suffering will dwarf my own."
"Stop this, Y/N, now!" He commanded. "Or I will!"
You spread your hands. "You can't."
Kol snarled and rushed at you.
"Don't touch me!"
The wind as your hand swept him aside, sending the monster careening into the rigging. A battle cry arose from your sisters in the ocean and whips of braided kelp and pearl lashed him down, coiling around his wrists, neck, and ankles.
A mighty gale heaved against the timbers of the ship, causing them to creak and groan. Waves assaulted the deck from every side, sending water pouring through the cracks.
This world could cease its turning dance
I'd not see, nor hear, nor know
Somewhere, a terrified voice shouted- "MAELSTROM!"
Yet, all was to you but numb satisfaction. A stroke of lightning lit the sky and rent the mast in twain. Walls of water crashed over the sides and the sheer force of the winds sent cast iron guns toppling, shredding the deck as though it were parchment.
For my heart hath been fragmented
By that jolly sailor bold
With one last flash of light, the Hanged Man's Deceit was swallowed up by the sea.
