Baby female Mikaelson reader x Klaus mikaelson x Hayley Marshall (and Hope + Kol)
Warnings: none
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Klaus follows yours and Hope's giggles into the library. Once he gets there, he stops and leans against the doorway at the sight that's displayed in front of him.
On the ground is a soft blanket where you and Hope are sitting, playing with some toys. You guys are in your own little world, not noticing someone in the entrance of the room. But beside you where Hayley sits on the leather couch, her head pops up from where she was watching you both with a smile on her face.
Her attention is turned over to the man, and she nods her head to the side in a meaning to come in and not just lurk in the doorway. Klaus pushes his side off from the door frame and walks over to the three of you.
"What brings you here?" Hayley asks him once he sits beside her. "I heard my daughter and baby sister apparently having some fun" He answered before turning his attention to the two of you.
At the moment, you and a one year old Hope are stacking foam blocks into some sort of building to place the little doll figures on. The blocks and the small dolls are some of the most used toys by the two of you. You guys could sit on the blanket or a bed and play with them for hours without getting bored.
Though after the tower falls down again, sending both of you into giggles, you finally notice the other presence in the room. You turn around and see your big brother sitting next to Hayley on the couch. "Niky!" You exclaim, getting up and bounding over to him.
"Hello, sweetheart. Having fun with Hope?" He asks as he pulls you up into his lap, facing him. "Yeah. Hopey an' me p'ay" You nod your head.
Hayley smiles at your response, being so fond of the little girl that you've been basically joined at the hip with. She finds it so endearing hoe you gush about Hope for how much you love her. She thought once she was born, you were going to not be as pleased with there being another little one around and in the family. But she couldn't be any more wrong, you absolutely adore the newest family member.
Hayley stands leans over to pick said girl up from the blanket as well once she sees her little yawns. Hope immediately snuggles into her mom's chest and closes her eyes, telling Hayley it was about time for a nap.
"I'm going to go put Hope down for her nap. Do you want to come, or stay with your brother, Hun?" She asks, smiling over to where you're looking up at the one year old in her arms.
"Umm, I stay Niky" You answer, you haven't gotten to spend much time with your big brother lately and you've missed him. "Okay, I'll see you later, Baby" She leans down gently, not wanting to disturb the half asleep girl, and places a kiss to the top of your head.
As Hayley walks out of the room, you wave before turning back to face Klaus. "Well, what do you want to do, my little troublemaker" He asked, running his hand through your hair.
"Hug" is all you tell him before crashing forward into his chest and wrapping your tiny arms around as much of him as you can. Klaus wraps his arms around your back, enveloping you into his embrace in return. You cuddle into him, your face pressed against his soft henley.
"Is everything alright, y/n?" He asks you quietly. He's not used to your total calmness unless it's at night or your taking a nap with Hope. All you do is nod as an answer. "Alright, did something happen while I was away?" Again you just shook your head in response. Klaus doesn't have a clue what this quiet version of you brought it on. Though, he may have a slight suspicion, he just may have given himself the answer.
"Did you miss me?" He asks, rubbing his hand up and down your back. At that, you pull away only a bit to look up at him and nod with big puppy dog eyes. "We'll spend some alone time together than, hmm?" He tells you. "Yeah" you say in agreement before going back to cuddling into his chest as he relaxes back into the couch.
He's been gone for basically the entire week, barely showing up at the abattoir to make sure the recent threat of the quarter witches was taken care of. Him and along with your other siblings haven't been around for the same reason. They want to keep you and Hope safe from any threat that could make it's way over to you guys.
Though the alone time you guys planned didn't last. Not too long after you guys were just relaxing with each other and somewhere between, Klaus reaching over and pouring himself a drink, someone bursts into the room. You shriek at the loud sound and cling to your brother tighter.
About to hide you from any attacker, Klaus took sight of who exactly it is and let out an agitated sigh. "Must you barge in, little brother" Klaus didn't mean it as a question, and the other person knew it as well.
"Yes, of course I must, Nik. Or else where would my brotherly duties be?" Kol answered nonetheless with a cheeky smile before making his way over to the two of you.
You're still hidden in Klaus' chest from the fright of the bang before. "You don't need to be afraid, Y/n/n. It's just me" Kol calms his voice and crouches down behind where you're sat on Nik's lap.
"Kol?" You slowly turn your head out of the secureness of Klaus' chest. "Yep, just me. Your best big brother" Kol answers, ignoring Klaus' eye roll at the comment.
"And I have a surprise! You want cookies?" His eyes glimmer with joy while asking you. "Yeah!" You exclaim back at the notion of eating cookies.
"Alrighty then, let's go!" He plucks you out of Klaus' lap and places you on his hip, heading towards the hallway.
But before he could make it past the threshold of the door, an earsplitting shriek filled the room, making Kol hiss in displeasure from having his ear so close to the source it came from.
Tears started to threaten to fall down your flushed cheeks, making Kol surprised and his eyes widening. "What's wrong? Did I hurt you?" Kol asks, sadness hinting in his voice. He never means to hurt you, but now he's scared he had.
Klaus stands from the couch and quickly works his way over to the two of you. He takes you into his arms from Kol's and sways you in his arms, calming you down right away to where you snuggle back into his chest.
"I'm sorry" Kol tells you and he guesses Nik as well. "I didn't mean to hurt her, I swear" Kol tells his brother, pleading that he'll believe him.
Klaus sighs at the emotion coming from Kol, "No, you didn't hurt her. She just likes to only be held by me and Hayley most of the time and has bad reactions when others do." Klaus explains, feeling a tad sorry for his little brother.
"Oh, uh, I didn't know. I haven't been around a lot. I;ve been spending time with Davina. Sorry again though, y/n/n. I promise I'll ask next time, okay?" Kol cautiously tucks your hair behind your hair.
You look up at him with glossed eyes and nod in agreement. You never meant to make your brother sad, you just wanted to stay with Niky.
"It's alright. You're not the only one this has happened to. It happened with Marcel last week and he almost started freaking that he'd done something wrong like you had. It's just some new attachment she's gotten. Don't worry, soon she'll be all clingy to everyone again. We just have to give it some time." Hayley enters the room and speaks softly to Kol, explaining more in depth.
After, Kol slowly nods in understanding. "Okay, yeah. that makes sense, she spends the most time with you" Kol says. "I guess I'll see you guys later. Oh, and the cookies are on the kitchen counter" Kol remember to give that information before leaving the room.
He's obviously sad, but he understands that you're going through a clinging stage. It's normal, he shouldn't hold it against you.
"Is she alright?" Hayley comes closer to the two of you, asking Klaus. "She'll be just fine. Only needs some time to calm down is all" Klaus smiles at the hybrid woman.
Expecting Miracles
As the full moon bathed the streets of New Orleans in its ethereal glow, Klaus, paced anxiously in his opulent mansion. His mind was consumed with worry and anticipation as he awaited the return of his beloved, y/n, who was carrying their child.
Klaus had always been a complicated man, burdened by his past and the weight of his family's legacy. But the prospect of becoming a father awakened a softer side of him, a desire to protect and cherish his growing family.
Finally, the front door swung open, and there she was, a radiant glow enveloping her, accentuated by her blossoming belly. Klaus's eyes widened with awe and adoration as he rushed to her side, gently placing his hand on her abdomen to feel the life within.
"My love," Klaus murmured, his voice filled with tenderness and reverence. "You're carrying our child, a miracle born from our love."
Y/n smiled, her eyes sparkling with joy. "Yes, Klaus. Our love created something beautiful."
From that moment on, Klaus vowed to be the best partner and father he could be. He showered y/n with affection, ensuring her every need was met during her pregnancy. He learned about prenatal care, attended doctor's appointments, and even transformed a room in their mansion into a cozy nursery.
Klaus would often place his hand on y/n's belly, feeling the gentle kicks and movements of their unborn child. He would whisper words of love and encouragement, promising to protect and guide their little one through the challenges of life.
As the due date approached, Klaus's anxiety heightened. He wanted everything to be perfect for y/n and their child. On the day of the birth, Klaus stood by y/n's side, holding her hand and offering words of comfort.
With every push and every breath, y/n brought new life into the world. And when the cries of their newborn baby girl filled the room, Klaus felt tears welling in his eyes. He witnessed a miracle, a tangible symbol of the love he and the reader shared.
In that moment, Klaus knew he had been blessed with a new purpose. He would protect his family at all costs, ensure their happiness, and strive to be the father he had always longed to have.
As Klaus held their newborn Daughter Hope in his arms, he whispered a promise. "I will love and protect you always, my little one. You are the greatest gift life has given me."
And so, the Mikaelson family grew, with Klaus, y/n, and Hope at the center.
"you’re no good for me" "but baby, i want you, i want you, i want you"
pairings: klaus mikaelson x human fem!reader
warnings/tags: smut (18+), blood kink, blood sharing, unprotected sex (practice safe sex guys), creampie, needy klaus.
summary: you let klaus feed on you.
you'd expected him to be hungry. you just hadn't realized how ravenous he was, nor what drinking blood did to him.
"f-fuck, ah— c-careful," you gasped.
your voice echoed in the empty room, and his pleasurable grunts echoed with it. it was so dark that you could barely see a thing. you winced, again, from the strange new sensations surging through your body.
"ah— c-careful, klaus, please" you squeaked, it was the only sound that could escape your throat as he clamped your shoulder in his jaw. your neck was soaked, smeared in spit and blood, a leftover gift from when he had searched for the safest spot to drink.
he'd settled on the spot between your collarbone and neck, and there his teeth had sunk in.
with his fangs pierced right down to the bone and his lips bruising your skin, he continued to carefully suck your blood out and into his mouth. it felt like heaven, warm and wet sliding down his throat. to you it was a confusing mix of pleasure and pain.
"a-ah... is—is it, okay?" you whimpered.
klaus let out a low moan in response.
you couldn't move. you were clamped in his jaw, the jaw of a predator designed to keep its prey still, and his body was pinning yours to the cold wood of the floor.
to any passerby you would have looked terrifying. his body was obscured in the dark, appearing as just a hulking, bloody shadow, merging and distorting the outline of your own form; the visage of a monster in the night, consuming the body of a frightened human.
but that wasn't how you saw it. no, you were in the thralls of absolute delight.
one of his hands were on your waist, his fingers carefully drawing you up until you were held taut beneath his body, and the other hand was feverishly groping your tits.
he had torn your dress to feed and then tore a little further, leaving your skin bare right down to your ribs. he was squeezing, stroking, his thumb desperately massaging your nipple. he wanted to hear your whimpers, your soft jolts when he overstimulated that sensitive spot.
you felt him sink down between your legs, his hardened bulge thick and round as it nudged at your bare thigh. he was softly grinding it up against your panties.
you'd never do this, never. this wasn't like you at all. but you were doing it now.
you were mewled as he dry-humped your little body.
your breath was ragged, the soft puffs of condensation from your lips turned a ghostly white by the pale light.
feeding had always been a euphoric experience for him. but now, with you, it had become a full body orgasmic experience, feeding every positive stimulus in his brain and body.
every nerve in his body was on fire in the best way. his body was pulsing, pumping. his arms were covered in goosebumps, his dark hair standing on end, and his cock was painfully erect beneath his pants.
he needed relief. he needed more.
"mmm... mmm," his muffled groans got louder as he continued to feed.
his conscious brain was fighting those deep, vampiric urges, the need to indulge in pleasure no matter the consequences, but his subconcious was primal.
if he had his way he'd drain everything, slowly, all while pumping between your legs into your pretty little cunt, but he couldn't allow that.
you were a sweet, naïve thing, you'd just let him take you up here. your whimpers were heaven, but your softness was too pure for him to fully ruin.
so he forced himself to break a part from you.
he withdrew his fangs and pulled back, revealing the purple, bruised skin of your shoulder. he licked the wound clean before forcing himself away.
"please, please, if you—if you give me your wrist, i—i'll be done, and—"
klaus paused to pant, his lips still stained red. you watched your own blood drip down his chin.
"and, if i could... have you, in another way, it may help to, calm my urges" he said, his voice husky and dark. you watched his eyes glimmer a bright gold. "may i have you?"
"yes," you instinctively blurted, he lunged forward and kissed you. his lips were hard, rough, and you could taste the metallic sting of blood on them. when he pulled back he looked overjoyed.
"good. good. come here, love," he ordered.
you jolted as he dragged your body forward. he carefully tore a hole through your dress and panties with his bare hands.
you shuddered as the cold air hit your bare and slick-coated pussy, but klaus didn't leave you bare for long.
he roughly manhandled you onto the ground before stripping out his suit, allowing his already erect cock to fall down hard on your clit. the sight caused a small, surprised noise to escape your throat, one that he relished.
he was slow, deliberately distracting you with his cock as he raised your wrist to his mouth. he kept you captivated as he carefully slid it inch by inch down your swollen clit, letting you feel every inch.
the pleasure of sinking both his teeth and his cock into you at once was enough to make him physically shake.
with a soft grunt he penetrated both.
your words were turned to gibberish as he pushed his cock in deep, until his pelvis was perfectly squished up against you. the moment your blood hit his throat he started to pump.
you were inside him, and he was inside you. on that filthy, cold floor, you were his.
he started to push his cock in tandem with his teeth.
as his fangs gently shifted beneath the skin, as his lips sucked and bruised, his fat cock gently slipped in and out of your cunt. for such a furious feeder he was a surprisingly gentle lover.
he was terrifyingly strong, that much was clear up close. he bent your thighs until they ached, his fingers digging into the soft flesh as he held you in place, and with each push you could feel the power he was holding back.
you felt him pumping, drawing out your precious blood while his cock ravaged you from inside. each delicious slip, each pulsing throb, every time you felt his cock twitching for attention against your creamy walls, it was unbearable.
you were whining, your heavy breathes producing less and less ghostly condensation. klaus was panting furiously with each thrust, his breath condensing like smoke as he huffed through his curled nose. he was lost in the pleasure, the urge, the need.
and between the tightness, the heat, the copious oozing slick squelching and pooling around his bare skin and dripping off his balls as they smacked against your ass, mixed with the sound of you whining and the fresh blood in his body, he couldn't last any longer.
with a single, muffled groan, klaus came inside of you. his blue eyes rolled back and his body began to buck, smacking your hips until they went numb.
just as he felt your hot blood filling his mouth you felt his thick seed pooling and squishing its way into your cunt, filling every available space. it started to seep out as he continued to hump your limp body, now hanging in sweat, hot pearly strings between his pelvis and your inner thighs.
he pumped inside you until he was utterly spent, his own head now hazy and light, and at last he released you. your wrist fell limp to the floor.
klaus coyly wiped his mouth on the back of his wrist before brushing your forehead. "are—are you alright?"
the relief he felt when you shakily nodded was unmatched.
"thank you," he murmured, his fingers lingering on your cheek. "you were... delicious."
Screw Rebekah and Elijah tho (I volunteer), I wanted them to be a little more sorry but knowing Klaus has done this to them in canon I'll shut up
Hi gorgeous, could you do a second part of Shadows of Doubt where reader is pregnant with Hope and spending time with Hayley who's a good friend of hers. Elijah and Rebekah realize they were being assholes because she's exactly what their brother needed, Klaus misses her and wants her back, though once he finds out about her pregnancy everything gets more angsty, as he blames his siblings for it, believing yn had moved on not knowing the child was his and etc. They get back together at the end, with a lot of fluff and etc.
𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐝𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐭 ┄ 𝐢𝐢
pairing: niklaus mikaelson x f!reader
count: 1.5k
warning: slight angst + fluff
author’s note: after several requests and messages, here’s part 2 of shadows of doubt (here’s part 1). i hope you enjoy it like you guys did the first one! 🫶🏽
It had been weeks since I last cried and almost four months since I last saw him. It was the most painful thing I had ever done but I knew it had to happen, there was no need to make the situation more difficult. I walked away. No goodbye or anything. I wasn’t going to let his siblings have the satisfaction of seeing me ‘weak’ as they often told me.
The gentle breeze rustled the leaves as I sat in the courtyard of my home, my fingers unconsciously tracing the subtle curve of my belly. The soft flutter of life within me was a constant reminder of the precious gift growing inside. It had been a whirlwind of emotions since that day— the day I had found out I was pregnant with her. She wasn’t planned but she’d be wanted, if not by him then me, she was my miracle…my hope.
In the months I had spent away from him and his family, I had met people. Amongst them was a woman called Hayley, she had become my closest confidante and friend. She sat beside me, her gaze understanding and supportive. “How are you feeling, Y/N? she asked softly.
I smiled, the love and excitement for the life within me radiating through my words. “It's strange, but in a beautiful way. I feel this little one moving, and it's like she's already a part of me.”
Hayley's eyes softened, and she placed a comforting hand on my shoulder. “You're going to be an amazing mother, Y/N.”
As I looked around the courtyard, memories of him flooded my mind. His charming smile, his passionate love, and the painful distance that had grown between us. I couldn't help but wonder if he was thinking about me, if he ever missed the moments we had shared. Little did I know, he was wrestling with his own demons, haunted by the realization that he had let go of something precious. Elijah and Rebekah, his once-disapproving siblings, had opened his eyes to the truth— that my absence had left a void in his life.
One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, Klaus stood outside the balcony, his heart heavy with regret. The memories of time spent together played like a filmstrip in his mind, each moment a painful reminder of what he had lost. He swirled the glass in his hand around, mindlessly watching it.
Elijah approached the open balcony doors and stood still, his voice gentle but firm. “Niklaus, we’d like for you to hear us out. You can’t go on like this anymore brother.”
Klaus was silent for a while then with a huff he said, “Very well, say your piece.”
“We were wrong. I apologize for the part I played in hurting Y/N. You need to go to her.”
His back was still turned, facing the city in front of him. His jaw clenched and unclenched, his voice sounding venomous. “You do not tell me what I need Elijah.”
“Then tell me what I can do.” Elijah removed his hand from his pocket, waving it in front of him.
“What I needed you to. I needed you to stand by me and support us…you made me choose.” His voice cracked at that last sentence as he spun around to face his older brother.
Elijah's expression softened, his concern for his brother evident. “It's not too late, Niklaus. Reach out to her, before it truly is.”
“This was your doing! You and Rebekah!”
“We’re sorry for doubting her Nik, alright? Is that what you want to hear?” Rebekah yelled back at her brother. She had been silently watching and listening from the door.
“What I wanted was her and you drove her away!” He throws his glass of liquor across the room, the bottle following quickly behind.
Rebekah flinched and shut her eyes as she whispered, “Nik we’re sorry.”
“Go to her brother. We will not fail you again.” Elijah extended his hand out to him and Klaus gave it a firm shake. With a nod, they reached a silent agreement.
Without a word, Klaus left to his room to think it over. He knew he could never gain her trust again after letting her go so easily. He often used his art room to conjure up his master plans but not this time. In a few hours he had decided and that was how he found himself standing outside my door, his heart pounding as he raised his hand to knock. He hesitated, the weight of his emotions holding him back. The door swung open, and there I stood, the sight of him taking my breath away. For a moment, time seemed to stand still, and the unspoken words hung heavy in the air.
“Y/N,” he finally said, his voice a mix of longing and regret.
“Klaus,” I replied softly, my heart racing.
“I missed you love,” he admitted, his voice vulnerable. His hand reached out to me, gently placing it on my cheek.
I looked into his eyes, the depth of his emotions mirrored mine. “I missed you too, Klaus. But things are different now.”
The silence between us spoke volumes, a symphony of emotions that echoed the pain of our separation and the hope for a second chance. As our gazes held, a sense of understanding passed between us. I wanted nothing more than to stand there and take it all in, take in the sight of him. Call it weakness or strength but in that moment I needed to be honest so I revealed the truth.
“I'm pregnant,” I whispered, tears welling in my eyes.
Klaus's expression shifted from surprise to confusion, and then to anger. “You moved on so quickly?” he snapped, his voice laced with bitterness. He pulled back as though my touch burned him.
I shook my head, the tears spilling over. Desperately, I took a step forward to be closer once more, “No, it’s yours. Our child, Nik.”
He couldn’t believe it and I wouldn’t blame him, he didn’t know. Ten years ago I triggered my curse and quickly learned a few things, one of them being scent. A witch that was a family friend offered to hide it as a way to thank me for saving her children. From that day onwards, I could smell other wolves but none knew my scent which hid me from supernaturals alike. Klaus never knew, I would have told him one day but after realizing I’d never gain his siblings' trust and the constant doubts from him, I kept my secret.
Still even with my revelation, he was partially in the dark. If I had any chance of convincing him, I needed to tell him the entire truth. I placed one hand over my abdomen and looked at him, tears falling freely. I knew in the silence he’d hear it. Time seemed to have slowed in that moment as I saw his face morph into different stages of understanding.
The realization hit him like a tidal wave, his anger giving way to shock and disbelief. “What?”
I took a step closer, my hand gently caressing my belly. “Hope. She's ours, Nik.”
“How?” His voice was small, almost child-like, though his gaze remained on my abdomen.
With my free hand, I reached down for his and placed it on the side of my head. I wanted him to know everything, I wanted him to trust me fully which is why I let him inside my mind. “See for yourself.”
Moments later tears glistened in his eyes as he looked at me, his heart torn between regret and joy. “I can't believe I doubted you,” he whispered.
As he reached out to touch my belly, his fingers gentle against my skin, I felt a rush of emotions—love, forgiveness, and the chance for a future together. This was all I had wanted. Right here, I had all that I could ever ask for and I’d be damned if I let it go without a fight. He was my home.
“Love I'm truly sorry. I don’t deserve you,” he murmured, his voice thick with emotion.
I smiled through my tears, feeling the weight of the past lifting from my shoulders. “Klaus, we have a chance to start again—for Hope and for us.”
“Hope?”
“You don’t like it? We can pick something else.” I quickly said, worried I had already done something wrong.
He leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on my forehead then looked down at my belly. “No, I love it.” His fingers moved around in slow circles and I could feel her inside me as she pressed closer to him. “Hope Althea Mikaelson.”
I let out a soft gasp, immediately looking up at him. “Althea?”
“She’ll take after her mother, it’s only right she has your name as well.” He lifted my hand with his free one and kissed the knuckles, adding “I vow to never leave either of you. We will be a family sweetheart.”
And in that moment, as one hand rested against his growing daughter and the other on me, I knew that the shadows of doubt that had once clouded our hearts were finally dissipating. As we embraced, a sense of utter completeness settled over us, a promise of love and a future that would forever be intertwined. I was back home and soon our greatest Hope would join us.
Klaus Mikaelson x Reader!Soulmate x Elijah Mikaelson PART 7
Word Count- 5.3k
Warnings- Swearing, stabbing, Elijah wanting to hold hands, witch trials
A/N- KLAUS NEXT CHAPTER BABIES!!!
“I don’t understand why you grown men keep dragging me into your shit,” I groan to Alaric as he parks his car. I cling to my seatbelt and regret ever answering my phone this morning. I really just have to throw my phone away at this point.
“I don’t trust him around Jenna, Y/n. I have a bad feeling about the guy,” Ric says as he undoes his seatbelt and begins to exit the car.
“That or are you just jealous?”
I raise an eyebrow and purse my lips at him and he leans down to stare at me with an annoyed look.
“Get out of the car Y/N.”
I watch as Ric makes his way from his side of the car to mine, but just as he’s about to open my door I press down the lock from the inside. I smirk at him as he tries to open the door but it doesn’t budge. He stares down at me annoyed and then presses his key fob unlocking the car. He tries to open the door but I mimic my actions from before and lock the car again. We continue doing this for another 2 minutes before Ric gets the better of me and throws open my door.
“Seriously, Y/n!”
I huff and practically crawl out of the car.
“For the record, I would rather jump in front of a train than be here,” I say matter-of-factly to Ric as we catch sight of Jenna and Elijah walking up a grass path together.
“For the record,” Ric waves at them and then turns his head towards me, “I don’t care.”
Once again I groan as we make our way towards Jenna and Elijah. I lock eyes with the latter and he sends me a warm smile. I don’t reciprocate and quickly turn my eyes towards Jenna. I can still feel Elijah’s eyes on me, as always, as we stand in front of Jenna and him.
“Uh, Elijah, this is my friend,” Jenna, who seems to be annoyed, introduces Alaric to Elijah, “Alaric Saltzman. And you’ve already met Y/N,” Jenna turns to me and seems much more happy to see me.
Ric who can’t seem to catch a clue speaks, “Ya, I got your, uh, message about walking Elijah here through the old property lines. I thought I, uh we,” He gestures to me, “would, uh, tag along. You know us being history buffs and all. Where to next?”
An awkward silence follows for a moment before Elijah breaks it, “I’m pretty curious about the freed slave property owners. Some say, you know, the descendants of the slaves are the true keepers of American history.”
I am almost one hundred percent sure Mr. Suit and Tie has an ulterior motive but Jenna doesn’t seem to catch it as she tells him she has the stuff in her car and that she’ll go grab it. I watch as she walks away and then turn back to the two men next to me. Elijah stands about a foot's width away from me while Ric is to my right. Ric must’ve noticed Elijah’s staring as he moved himself in front of me. If you didn’t want me to be around Elijah why bring me here? Dumbass.
I can still see Elijah from over Ric’s shoulder and the movement Ric made doesn’t seem to sit well with Elijah as a small twitch in his upper lip presents into a snarl. He drops back into a neutral look almost instantly.
“So you’re one of those people on Elena’s list of loved ones to protect,” Elijah says to Ric. Even though Elijah is relatively shorter than Ric the aura Elijah protrudes makes up for it. Anyone could tell that even though Ric is trying to put up a macho front, he’s afraid of Elijah.
“So is Jenna.”
Elijah smirks at Alaric and then shakes his head slightly, “You don’t have to be jealous. I don’t really pursue younger women,” Elijah’s eyes trail to mine momentarily, “Most of the time.”
Elijah turns back to Ric and they stare at each other for a moment before Elijah pats Ric on the shoulder, “It’s a joke, Ric, lighten up.”
Ric rolls his eyes and nods.
“Wait,” I speak and turn to Elijah, “Technically isn’t every woman younger than you? You know, since you’re like old. Really old. ”
Ric just brings a hand up to massage the tension between his eyebrows and sighs deeply, but Elijah lets out a small chuckle that sends shocks down my spine.
“I guess you’re right Y/N. I am really old,” He mimics my tone with a small smile on his face.
—
35 minutes. We’ve been walking in this dirty ass forest for 35 minutes. I should be in bed asleep right now. But nope, here I am following behind three adults as they talk about history. It’s not that I don’t like history, I do, it’s just that it’s a Saturday. I shouldn’t be learning things on a weekend.
I half-heartedly listen to what Jenna is telling Elijah as we cross over a bunch of fallen tree logs. Alaric helps Jenna over one, and I don’t miss the dirty look she looks she shoots him, making me try to cover my giggle with my hand. The giggling instantly stops though when I see Elijah standing by the front of the log with his hand outstretched towards me. We haven’t talked in these 35 minutes since Jenna has been occupying him, but that hasn’t stopped him from turning back every few moments to catch a glimpse of me, as if he thinks I’m just going to disappear into thin air. Honestly, I wish I would.
I’m not going to use Elijah’s help but realize that my clumsy ass would probably fall over the log if I didn’t. So I lightly place my hand into his, which results in him closing his hand over mine. Locking our hands together. Our hands are locked for a long moment before Ric clears his throat from the other side of the log. I quickly look away from Elijah and use his hand to get over the log carefully. I soon as I get over it though I wrench my hand away from his and walk over to Jenna who sends me a warm smile.
“Seems like someone is fond of you,” She whispers to me as she raises his eyebrows suggestively.
I can already feel the redness making its way onto my cheeks as I stare at her horrified. Jenna just laughs at my face as she starts leading us farther down the trail we’re on. Sadly though, Alaric has occupied Jenna, which leaves Elijah to walk next to me.
Elijah’s quiet for a moment, seemingly just enjoying my company before he starts speaking, “Is it true what Alaric says,” I turn to him confused, “That you’re a history buff?”
I sigh slightly as I shrug my shoulders realizing that just talking to the guy might make this little trip go by a little faster.
“I wouldn't call myself a buff,” I use my fingers to make air quotes, “but it’s also not something I dislike. Learning about how our world was made and all the small factors of why it was made are quite intriguing. I also like weird history.”
“Weird history,” Elijah questions me with a frown.
“You know, like the unexplained, or the odd things in history that many don’t understand,” At the still confused look on his face I continue, “You know like the dancing plague of 1518, D.B Cooper, or Oh! The lost colony of Roanoke. That’s probably my most favorite.”
Once I realized that I had just gone on a tangent I went to apologize to Elijah but when I look at him all I can see on his face is pure adoration. The type of adoration that makes the beating in my chest stops. He smiles at me and from being so close to him I notice the small dimple on his left cheek.
“I understand now,” Elijah says, “You seem to be most interested in The Roanoke Colony. Why is that?”
I ponder his question for a moment, “I’m not sure, it’s just something I’ve always been drawn to. Maybe because of how mysterious and odd it is. I’m not sure, I know that some people say it was aliens or cannibalism but there isn’t a known answer. It’s amazing to me that so many people, an entire village, can go missing and there are no clues. Other than the word Croatoan!”
Elijah nods his head along but the look in his eyes and the smirk on his face tells me he’s hiding something. Wait. Holy shit.
I whip around to him stopping us, “You know, don’t you! I mean you’re old enough but I didn’t even think you would…,” I stop and stare at him in awe for a moment, “You have to tell me.”
Elijah opens his mouth but then I shake my head and throw a hand up to his mouth stopping him, “Wait! No, what if you tell me and it ends up disappointing me.”
I go through all the possibilities in my head at what he could tell me and then fight myself on whether I should have him tell me or not. I can feel Elijah’s smile behind my hand and bring my hand back.
“Sorry,” I wince embarrassed.
“No worries, I enjoy seeing you so full of life,” I blush at his words, “Would you like me to tell you?”
I think about Elijah’s question for a moment and then shake my head, “No. I think the reason I love that moment in history so much is because of the mystery behind it. I don’t want to lose interest in it by knowing.”
Elijah seems pleased with my answer and nods, “Very well.”
We continue walking for another moment before Elijah chimes up again, “What else interests you?”
I shrug my shoulders, “Nothing much, I’m not a very interesting person.”
“I highly doubt that.”
I smile slightly at his comment, “Well I like reading. That’s actually something Elena and I have bonded on. I used to get bullied for being a book nerd but now having someone who likes it too is comforting.”
At this mention of Elena, Elijah’s smile drops slightly but then turns into a small frown.
“I’m sorry that you were bullied for reading, as a literature connoisseur myself I find it quite depressing how reading has become something so rare in these past decades. What types of books do you read?”
I nod along to Elijah’s words until he asks what books I read. At this, I instantly get red and look anywhere other than him.
“You know,” I try to find a socially acceptable answer. Not really wanting to tell this 1,000-year-old man I spend my free time reading smut, “Literature.”
“Literature?”
Elijah looks at me with a smirk on his handsome features and I just nod and clear my throat, “Yep, literature. Just all the literature.”
“What about you? What literature do you like?”
Elijah laughs slightly at my change in subject, “Literature in general as well,” I roll my eyes at his joke, “But also I appreciate all types, Historical, the classics, thriller, even romance.”
“You read romance,” I ask surprised.
He nods his head, “On occasion. There’s something so unique about how different authors portray love and devotion. Where some show it as a neverending, intense emotion others show it as one’s demise.”
“And which do you believe?”
This question has Elijah pausing momentarily, thinking, “I’ve lived a long time, Elskan. Seen people start wars in the name of love, and seen people kill and die in its name aswell. To choose just one thought when it comes to the idea of love is something I can not do. What about you, what are your thoughts on love?”
“I want nothing to do with it.”
Elijah goes quiet for a moment at my answer. I face back forward and we keep walking in silence for another moment.
“I understand your reluctance towards it. But still young why cut off something like love at your age?”
I fight the urge to roll my eyes at his words. My age has nothing to do with my hatred and distaste for love.
“Don’t tell me all that romance you read is getting to your head, Elijah,” I say to him slightly snarky.
“I’ve struck a nerve,” Elijah says as he nods his head.
“Nope. No nerves struck here,” I tell him picking up my speed and walking away from him. He doesn’t have to try hard to meet my speed though as he falls back into step with me.
“Even though there have been no nerves struck,” He tries to lighten the tension with a joke, “I must apologize for overstepping. As I’ve said before, making you uncomfortable is the last thing I’d ever want to do.”
I move my gaze from Jenna’s back, who is currently in a small argument with Alaric, and turn to look at Elijah. Once again his face has no signs of malice or ill intent.
“It’s fine,” I shrug at him, “Like I said no struck nerves.”
Elijah slightly laughs and then nods his head. We walk for another 5 minutes in silence, Elijah helps me over logs and rocks whenever we come up to one.
“Y/N and I should be heading back now,” Alaric tells the group as we get to a clearing.
I nod, happy to be getting out of these woods.
“Well, thank you Y/N for coming today, I’m sure you had more exciting things to do today,” Jenna smiles at me and jokes.
“Just sleeping. But it was nice to see you Jenna,” I reluctantly look over to Elijah who hasn’t left my side, “You as well.”
This has Elijah’s deflated shoulders rising again. He almost reminds me of a dog that is happy someone is finally giving it an ounce of attention.
“It was a pleasure to be able to spend this morning with you, Y/N,” I’ve noticed that Elijah calls me by my actual name when other people are around. But, when it is just him and I, he uses that stupid nickname.
I nod as I go to follow Alaric back to the car but stop and turn back to Elijah, “I guess I’m not one-hundred percent against love,” This perks Elijah up, “I mean I totally loved the dress I wore to the tea party.”
Elijah lets out a deep chuckle that rattles his broad shoulders, “You weren’t the only one.”
I almost choke on my saliva at his words. Elijah’s smirk deepens and I put my lips together and nod my head fast.
“Well, um. I’ll be going now,” I don’t give Elijah time to respond as I speed walk past him and Jenna and grab Ric’s forearm pulling him roughly behind me.
“Keep up,” I whisper yell at him as we speed walk our way to the car.
—
The original plan was that Ric and I would go on that stupid history walk and then after 30 minutes he would bring me back to my house, but of course, no one in this god-forsaken town follows any type of deal. So that’s why I am currently sitting in front of Demon and his “girlfriend,” and next to Ric who are talking about Elijah and how they don’t trust him. Thankfully Damon bought me fries so this whole trip hasn’t been an entire waste. I half-ass listen to their conversation but don’t really care so I don’t process a word they’re saying, at least not until Damon perks up.
I’ve come to learn from my time in knowing Demon that if I see him getting excited about something, someone is going to get hurt.
So that’s why I follow his line of sight and see Elijah and Jenna walk into the Grill together.
“Ah, there Jenna with her new boyfriend,” Damon says. I know he’s just trying to get a reaction out of Ric but something about that sentence makes my skin crawl.
Damon calls over both of them. Jenna welcomes all of us with a smile and wave while Elijah trails behind her looking complacent. As always his eyes find mine and his complacent smile lightens.
“So I hear you two had a meeting of the historical minds today,” Damon speaks to the two.
“Yeah, I guess you could say that,” Jenna smiles looking up at Elijah who is now looking down at Demon.
“Well, as much as I’d love to continue this, I, uh, I’ve got papers to grade and a teenager to get home,” Ric gets up from his seat and he gestures to me. I frown as I see my fries still half full and quickly grab a fist full and fill my mouth trying to get away with as many as possible, almost choking myself in the meantime. The adults around me watch me with a mix of amusement and slight disgust, but I don't care. I’m not wasting free food.
“No, you know what,” Alex or Stephanie or whatever Demon’s girlfriend is named, chirps up, “We should continue this. Let’s have a dinner party!”
Hell to the no.
“Ooh, my girl. Full of good ideas,” Damon looks over to her before turning back to us, “I’ll be happy to host. Say tonight. Maybe?”
“It’s good for me. Jenna,” Where Alessia agrees Ric tries to disagree.
“Yeah, I’m free,” Jenna talks over Ric. Yikes.
“Will the lovely Y/N be there,” Elijah asks me and I try to tell him, “Hell no,” but the fries in my mouth have left me mute.
“Of course, she’ll be there,” Damon exclaims as if there isn’t any other place I’d rather be. I send him a nasty glare which earns me a wink in return.
“Then it’d be a pleasure.”
Damon’s smile is all but welcoming as he responds to Elijah, “Great.”
This is going to be a horrible night.
—
This is a horrible night.
First I get a nasty grade on my modern art project. Not my fault, since modern art is a crime against humanity.
Then, I try to find a dress for this stupid dinner and the only half-decent dress that I have now is two inches too short.
And then after I said screw it, put the dress on and finished getting ready. I went down to my car only to find out that my front tire had gone flat. Honestly in this case I was happy about it because I had a reason to cancel, but when I called Jenna and told her the “upsetting” news, she told me she’d come pick me up. Great.
So now I’ve been sitting on my front porch waiting for Jenna. After waiting for fifteen minutes I was close to just calling it quits and telling Jenna the fries from earlier made me throw up on myself. But, right when I stand up a dark sedan pulls into my driveway. Wait. I know that sedan. Damnit. Why the hell is Elijah here?
As if he could read my thoughts Elijah pretty much glides out of his car looking practically god-like in yet another five-thousand-dollar suit and smiles at me.
“Good evening, Elskan,” Elijah walks up the walkway to stand before me, “Miss. Sommers so kindly asked me if I could escort you to the dinner tonight. To which I happily obliged.”
“Right,” I sigh, “Let’s just get this night over with.”
I walk to Elijah’s car as he follows me, just like before he opens the door for me. I send him an appreciative nod and get in. After another moment we’re driving down the dark road towards the boarding house.
“You look breathtaking, Elskan,” Elijah says to me from his position in the driver’s seat.
“Thanks,” I turn to him and look at his usual attire, “You look the same.”
He chuckles, “Yes, you always seem to remind me of my attire. Thank you for that.”
“Always here to help.”
We drive in comfortable silence for the entirety of the trip until we get to the Salvatore’s driveway.
“How are you feeling about tonight,” Elijah’s tone is flat but as he looks at me his eyes are filled with what I believe to be suspicion.
“You mean, do I think something bad is going to happen?”
Elijah’s upper lip twitches, “Aren’t you a smart one? But yes, I am not going to threaten you Elskan. I would never do that, but,” At that, I’m tensing in my seat, “I need to know if your friends are planning something, unbecoming, tonight.”
At Elijah’s serious tone, I shake my head, “I don’t know anything. Promise,” Elijah doesn’t seem to be entirely pleased with my answer, and something in me wants to fix that, “But, I do know that Damon is not one to have friendly dinner parties so,” I look at him uneased but speak in a strong voice, “Be on your guard tonight.”
“Thank you for your honesty, Elskan.”
—
Elijah and I stand side by side as he knocks on the front door. We wait only a moment before a smirking Demon opens it up,
“Thank you both for coming,” Damon says a little too nicely, “Y/N don’t you look adorable. Come on in!”
Elijah places his hand on my lower back, “Just one moment. Can I just say that if you have less than honorable intentions about how this evening is going to proceed, I suggest you reconsider.”
“No, nothing, nothing dishonorable. Just, uh, getting to know you.”
“Hmm, well, that’s good.”
“Yeah,” I watch this back and forth waiting for something bad to happen.
“Because, you know, although Elena and I have this deal if you so much as make a move to cross me I’ll kill you and I’ll kill everyone in this house,” And there it is, “Except Y/N and Miss. Sommers of course. Are we clear?”
“Crystal,” Damon eyes Elijah wearily. And then Elijah leads me into the house as Jenna enters the room.
“Jenna, wonderful to see you again. How are you?”
“I’m seriously getting whiplash from you man,” I whisper so only Elijah will hear. The only response I get is a slight squeeze to my waist as he pulls me closer and away from everyone else who has entered the room to greet us. His right-hand stays resting on my upper hip.
“Let’s eat.”
—
“I hate to break it to you, Damon,” Jenna says to Damon as she pours him a glass of wine, “But according to Elijah your family is so not a founder of this town.”
“Hmm, do tell,” Damon responds. Damon sits at the head of the table sipping his wine as he stares at Elijah, who is currently sitting next to me on my right. Alaric sits to my left and Jenna and Abby sit across from us. I should really learn her name. There’s also this balding white man who is sitting across from Damon at the other end of the table but no one here seems to want him here.
“Well, as I mentioned to Jenna earlier a faction of settlers migrated from Salem after the witch trial in the 1690s. Over the next hundred years, they developed this community where they could feel safe from persecution.”
“Hmm, because they were witches,” Jenna chimes in.
“Yeah, there’s no tangible proof there were witches in Salem.”
“Andies a journalist. Big on facts,” Oh, so that’s her name. I liked Andrea more.
“Well,” Elijah sets down his fork and starts talking again, “the lore says that there was this wave of anti-witch hysteria. It broke out in the neighboring settlement. So these witches were rounded up. They were tied to stakes in a field together and, uh, burned,” Elijah says as if it’s something anyone wants to hear while they’re eating steak dinner, “Some say you could hear the screams from miles around us. They were consumed by the fire. Could you pass the,” He gestures to the salt and Ric passes it to him wearily.
“I wouldn’t repeat this to the Historical Society,” Jenna says which has me wanting to roll my eyes at the mention of those bags.
“Maybe you should,” I say to myself but have seemed to catch the attention of the table. Shit.
“I’m just saying it would knock them down a peg, which is clearly needed,” I whisper out the last part, “Even though there is no proof of witches being burned at the stake during the trials. It was mostly done from self-drownings and using rocks.”
At my contradiction to Elijah’s statement he raises an eyebrow, “Is that so?”
“Self-drowning and rocks? How would that work,” Jenna questions with a slight stutter clearly having had a little too much wine.
“Well with the drowning it was more of a test,” I use fingerquotes at the word, “So to speak. The witch in question would be tossed into a body of water and if she was able to stay afloat she was condemned as a witch and was killed. But if she didn’t float, well. Y’know. So I mean either way it was just a way to punish women for being women. They used the rocks though to stone the people to death. Interestingly enough one of my ancestors was actually killed that way. R.I.P.”
I laugh at my little joke at the end which has earned me a few stares from the people at the table.
“Ok, moving past whatever that was,” Damon says as he turns back to Elijah, “So why do you want to know the location of these alleged massacres?”
Elijah thinks for a moment before smiling, “You know… a healthy historian’s curiosity, of course.”
“Of course,” Damon replies to Elijah who has already gone back to taking a bite out of his steak. I bring my glass of water to my lips and take a sip but start choking on it when I feel a hand gently grab my other one from under the table.
“Y/N! Are you ok,” Jenna exclaims from her side of the table as Ric pats me on the back, I put up a thumbs up and try to smile.
“Yep all good. Just,” I cough out a bit more, “went down the wrong pipe. Don’t mind me.”
Even though I almost choked, Elijah still hasn’t moved his hand from mine. Instead, his fingers have begun tracing shapes into my skin. I know I should feel disgusted, but I can’t seem to want to move his hand away. He looks at me momentarily as if to check I’m ok. To which I send him a small nod. This in return makes him smile and grab a hold of my hand more firmly now.
Damon's standing distracts me momentarily, “Does anyone care for some cognac? I have a bottle I’ve been saving for ages.”
God, me, please.
“None for me, thanks. Nine bottles of wine is my limit,” Alaric says as he downs yet another glass of wine. Jesus dude, try water sometime.
This has everyone standing from the table. Ok then, guess I’m done eating.
“The gentleman should take their drinks in the study,” Anna says.
“How 1950s of you Alice,” I smile at her sarcastically.
“My name is Andie,” She says back.
“Is that not what I said,” I smile at her as I walk past her into the study. I don’t even want to go in here with them but I’m doing it to stand on principle. And that I’m kind of an asshole. But that’s not my fault since I was awoken this morning before I was able to get my full 13 hours of shut eye.
—
My fingers graze the dozens of books I walk by as Damon and Elijah converse behind me. It surprises me that Damon has so many books, when he’s so dumb. Weird.
“Are these Stefan’s?”
Damon spares me a moment's glance, “No, they’re mine.”
I hum. Weird. Maybe he just doesn’t have comprehension skills.
“So, let me guess, in the addition to the moonstone, the doppelganger, the lion, the witch, and the wardrobe… You need to find this witch burial ground.”
“Because I feel as though we’ve grown so close, Damon,” Elijah’s words have me chuckling as I flip through a book that seems to be at least one hundred years old, “I’ll tell you yes. Do you know where it is?”
“Maybe,” Damon’s answer has Elijah walking over to him, “Tell me why it’s so important.”
“We’re not that close.”
Damon getting rejected has me snorting which catches Elijah’s attention as he smiles up to me. He notices the book I have in my hands and speaks again to Damon.
“It’s quite a collection you have here. It is a funny thing about books. Before they existed people actually had memories.”
I go to make a snarky comment at Elijah’s words but Ric comes storming into the study.
“Gentlemen,” I clear my throat and Ric looks at me, “And Y/N. We forgot about dessert.”
Addison comes over to Elijah and raises a hand for him to take, which has a nasty feeling starting in my gut. But before it goes too far Elijah turns to me instead and reaches out his own hand, “Y/N.”
I have to fight back a snort as we walk by Amelia Bedelia as Elijah leads me into the dining room where Jenna is.
“Sorry, guys, dessert is taking longer than I thought,” Jenna’s words have me physically deflating, “I usually just unwrap food.”
Elijah leads me to a chair and moves it so I can sit down. He sits next to me and Audrey sits across from us.
“So, I know this is a social thing but I, I would really love to ask you some more questions about the work that you’re doing here,” She asks Elijah who agrees. I’m quite interested in what he’s going to say since he’s created this big lie surrounding, Elijah Smith.
“Great,” She continues as Damon enters the room, “Oh, that’s so great. Ric, would you do me a favor and grab the notebook out of my bag?”
She instructs Ric as Elijah’s hand finds its way back to my hand.
“Elijah, did John tell you that he’s Elena’s uncle/father?’’
Damon’s question has me sitting up right.
“Huh?!”
I look between Damon and the balding man next to me and wonder how he was able to produce a girl as pretty as Elena. Also now I’m pissed and kind of sad no one has told me this before.
“Yes, I’m well aware of that,” Even Elijah knows?!
“Of course, she hates him, so there’s absolutely no need to keep him on the endangered species list.”
Now I don’t feel bad for thinking he looked like Charlie Brown earlier.
Adeline says something to Ric but now my full focus is on Elijah's fingers which are now grazing up and down my hand that lays on my thigh.
I can hear Dead Beat saying something to Elijah but the words won’t focus as I try to calm my breathing. Elijah’s deep voice enters my ears as I hear him threatening the two men but the soft touching hasn’t gone away.
I’m almost comforted by the feeling now until the once soothing feeling is replaced by his hand crushing my thigh. My yells are mixed with what I’ve just now realized are Elijah’s as he crunches up in pain. A loud scream escapes my lips as I see a dagger protruding from Elijah’s back and can only watch in horror and pain as Elijah’s once soft and light skin turns to grey and veining flesh.
I blink rapidly as everyone moves around me but all I can focus on is Elijah’s dead body. Dead. Elijah’s dead. Oh god.
I feel someone grab my upper arm and drag me out of my seat, “What’s wrong with you?”
My breathing halts. My vision goes black and, my body hits the floor.
"Daddy!!!" Hope's little voice rang through the compound, echoing down the halls.
Klaus smiled to himself, he knew what this was about. He'd been hearing about the impending snowstorm for days now and was prepared for Hope's enthusiasm.
"Daddy!!!!! Y/n!!!!" she called again.
"In the study, Hope," he answered.
He watched as his little girl raced around the corner, cheeks rosy with excitement. Her hair was pulled back into pigtails, her favorite red and white plaid shirt on underneath her sweater. Klaus knew how much Hope loved the snow, she had since she was a baby, so he was not surprised when she announced, "It's snowing, Daddy!"
He smiled, "So I've heard. Did you need something, little wolf?"
"I wanna go make a snowman!" Hope declared. "Please, daddy. Can we go make one? Please?"
You were snuggled up next to Klaus on the couch, a book open in your lap, and looked over at him. You knew he was in a mood today, but also knew how hard it was for him to tell Hope no. You had a feeling you knew where this was headed.
"I'm not sure, love. It's awfully cold outside."
"But...but it's the first snowfall of the year," Hope pouted, looking down at her shoes. "Please, daddy. We have to make a snowman."
"Have to?" Klaus chuckled. "I'm not sure anyone should ever have to make a snowman."
Hope stuck her lip out and pouted, and you swore you saw tears forming in her eyes. Klaus saw it too, and you knew he was close to giving in. He never could resist his little girl.
"If your dad won't help, I will," you said, putting your book down. "What do you say, Hope? Want to go make a snowman with me?"
Her little eyes lit up, a huge smile spreading across her face. She nodded vigorously, clapping her hands.
"Alright then, get your jacket, scarf, and gloves, and we'll head outside."
"Okay!" She exclaimed, turning to race down the hall.
Klaus chuckled, watching her go. He leaned over, kissing the top of your head.
"I'll get you for this, love," he teased.
"Hmm...promises, promises," you smirked, kissing him on the lips.
You found Hope struggling to get her jacket on, her fingers fumbling with the buttons. You knelt down, taking her little hands in yours, and helped her get her coat on, buttoning it up.
"I could've done it," she insisted. She was so much like her father.
"I know, sweetheart, but the faster you get ready, the sooner we can go outside." You explained, helping her into her boots.
You pulled her mittens on her hands, making sure they were snug, before putting her hat and scarf on. Hope's cheeks were flushed with excitement and she giggled when you kissed her nose.
"All set?" you asked, holding out your hand.
"Yes, let's go!!" she said, grabbing your hand and tugging you toward the door.
Klaus followed behind, smiling at the sight. He was wrapped up in his own coat, scarf, and gloves, and the three of you made your way to the door.
As soon as the front door opened, Hope raced outside, her little feet carrying her to the yard. She started jumping up and down, her mittened hands grabbing fistfuls of snow and tossing it into the air.
You and Klaus stepped out into the yard, watching as Hope ran around, laughing. The snow had just started to fall, but there was already a thick layer on the ground. You smiled at her innocence, soaking up her joy.
Klaus walked up beside you, wrapping his arm around your shoulders. He was smiling too, enjoying the moment.
"You've got her all riled up now," Klaus teased, his voice soft but laced with affection.
"Admit it," you said, leaning into him. "You're enjoying this too."
"Perhaps," he replied, his lips curving into a small, begrudging smile.
"Daddy, Y/n, come on!" Hope's voice interrupted your moment. She was already rolling a small snowball across the yard, determined to start the base of her snowman. "We need to make the biggest snowman ever!"
Klaus sighed, feigning exasperation. "The things I do for this family," he muttered, stepping forward to help her.
You followed, watching as Klaus knelt beside Hope, gently helping her shape the growing snowball. His gloved hands were careful yet efficient, and soon the base of the snowman was nearly as tall as Hope herself.
"Now we need another one for the belly," Hope declared, pointing to you. "You can do this one, Y/n!"
You grinned and knelt down, starting to roll your own snowball. "On it, boss."
Klaus watched you with amusement, his eyes softening as you worked. It wasn’t often he let himself get lost in simple family moments like this, but today he allowed it.
When the second ball was ready, Klaus helped you lift it onto the base, his hands brushing against yours as he steadied the snow. The contact made your cheeks flush, and you caught his knowing smirk as he stepped back.
"Not bad," he said. "But we're far from done. A snowman deserves proper arms, doesn't it?"
Hope gasped. "Not just arms! She needs to be a snow queen! A magical snow queen!"
Klaus raised an eyebrow, a sly grin tugging at his lips. "A queen, you say? Well then, we shall make her worthy of the title."
For the next hour, the three of you worked together, crafting the most elaborate snow queen the Mikaelson family had ever seen. Klaus took his task far too seriously, hunting for perfect twigs for arms and critiquing every berry Hope placed in the crown.
"She needs balance, darling," he said, moving one berry half an inch to the left.
"Daddy, you're being silly!" Hope giggled, shaking her head.
You couldn’t help but laugh too, watching Klaus fuss over the details. He claimed to be indulging Hope, but it was clear he was enjoying himself just as much.
When the snow queen was finally complete, Klaus took a step back and crossed his arms, admiring their work. "A masterpiece," he declared. "Fit for royalty, indeed."
Hope clapped her hands and twirled in delight. "She's perfect! Thank you, Daddy! Thank you, Y/n!"
Klaus bent into an exaggerated bow before the snow queen, earning a burst of laughter from Hope. "Your Majesty," he said solemnly, "it has been an honor."
You laughed, shaking your head at his theatrics. "I think you've outdone yourself, Klaus."
He straightened, his gaze lingering on you for a moment longer than necessary. "Only for the two of you," he murmured softly, his voice low enough that only you could hear.
Your heart fluttered, and before you could stop yourself, you leaned in and kissed him. It was quick and sweet, but it was enough to send warmth flooding through you despite the chill in the air.
"Ewwww," Hope groaned, covering her eyes. "Kissing is gross!"
You pulled back, laughing, while Klaus chuckled, his hand resting at the small of your back.
"Not always," he teased, stealing another kiss from you.
Hope made a face, sticking her tongue out in disgust. "I'm gonna make a snow angel," she announced, flopping down onto her back and kicking her legs.
You and Klaus shared a grin, both watching her fondly. The snow was falling lightly, and the world seemed quieter, somehow.
"I love you," Klaus whispered, his lips brushing against your ear.
"I love you, too," you replied, smiling.
And as the snow continued to fall, the three of you laughed and played, the cold forgotten in the warmth of love and family. For Klaus, there was no greater joy than that.
Aemond’s patience was a testament to the gravity of the moment, granting you the decency of privacy as you prepared to bare your soul. He remained in your solar, yet, even in the solace of solitude, you found yourself stalling, prolonging the inevitable.
You sank into the warmth of the bath, the fragrant water enveloping you like a gentle embrace. Each splash seemed to wash away not just the grime of the day before but the weight of your secrets, if only for a fleeting moment.
Emerging from the bath, you took your time, each gesture deliberate, each action a shield to stave off what awaited. You braided your hair intricately, each twist and weave a quiet reflection of the centuries that had passed, and you chose a gown—simple, yet elegant.
You stood before the mirror, your fingers trembling as they traced the delicate embroidery of the white gown that fell gracefully over your form. It was simple yet beautiful, much like the veneer you had worn for centuries. The gown’s gold embroidery caught the flickering sunlight, glimmering like the sun.
With a deep breath, you clasped the necklace around your neck, the Mikaelson emblem resting between your breasts like a lingering reminder of your lineage and the power that came with it.
Finally, with resolve steadying your heart, you pushed open the door to your solar. The scent of Aemond lingered in the air—earthy, faintly reminiscent of the dragonrider’s presence, grounding and yet intoxicating.
There he stood, framed by the soft, dappled sunlight that filtered through the window, his silhouette carved sharply against the room’s shadows. His one eye, always so piercing, was fixed on you—curiosity flickering within the cool violet depths, but also something darker, apprehension, perhaps even doubt.
“Are you ready?” His voice was low, steady, though an undercurrent of urgency rippled through it, enough to set your heart racing.
You swallowed, nodded, and then hesitated, your gaze shifting away from his for a brief moment before returning to him. "Helaena... she needs to be present as well."
Aemond’s brow furrowed, confusion lining his features as he studied your expression. “Why?” he asked, his voice measured but edged with impatience.
You let out a soft sigh, pursing your lips as you answered, “She’s already seen... *what* I am. Or at least, part of it.” You took a steadying breath. "When I killed those men to save Jaehaerys. She saw me—saw what I can become. She just doesn’t know the whole truth yet."
Aemond’s gaze darkened with understanding, though there was a glint of surprise in his eye. “And she just reacted to that without fear?” he asked, voice tinged with disbelief, though he kept it soft.
You shrugged, feeling the weight of the awkwardness that had settled between the two of you ever since you revealed your true nature. Every interaction since then seemed unnatural, almost fragile.
"I suppose it was the shock of almost losing Jaehaerys," you admitted. "She was too focused on him to question anything else. But now... I owe her the truth as well."
Aemond let out another sigh, his gaze distant as if struggling with words left unspoken. You turned your face away, uncertainty swirling in your chest. But then, to your absolute surprise, his hand reached out to you, a gesture that felt both unexpected and intimate.
Without hesitation, you accepted it, your fingers intertwining with his, as though it were the most natural thing in the world. His grip was firm, steady, grounding you in the moment as he began to lead you out of your chambers.
You followed without question, walking silently beside him, the gravity of what was to come weighing heavy between you.
He led you through the winding halls of Maegor’s Holdfast, his steps purposeful as the weight of the upcoming confrontation hung in the air. Finally, you reached the Queen's chambers.
Inside, you immediately caught sight of Alicent and Helaena seated together, quietly conversing on a chaise. The soft murmur of their conversation died the moment you and Aemond crossed the threshold.
Alicent’s sharp, perceptive gaze shifted to Aemond first, a flicker of suspicion and curiosity passing across her features. You could see the unease in her eyes, sensing that something important was amiss.
Aemond, however, made no effort to meet his mother's gaze, deliberately avoiding her presence as though she weren’t there. His silence spoke volumes, but Alicent’s focus quickly shifted to you.
Her brown eyes softened, and with a graceful rise from her seat, she approached you. Aemond's hand slipped from yours as you stepped forward to greet her.
"Queen Mother," you greeted, bowing your head slightly, unsure of how this moment would unfold.
To your surprise, Alicent did not remain distant or reserved. Instead, she moved swiftly toward you, wrapping you in a tight, unexpected embrace.
Her arms felt warm, maternal, and for a brief moment, the weight of your secrets and the danger surrounding you seemed to dissipate in the warmth of her embrace. She leaned in, her voice a soft whisper in your ear.
"I am so glad you are safe, sweet girl," she murmured, her tone filled with genuine relief. "The crown offers its deepest gratitude for returning Jaehaerys to us, alive and unharmed."
Her words stirred something deep within you—gratitude, perhaps, or the unfamiliar comfort of being seen as more than just what you were. You stiffened slightly in her embrace, though part of you longed to melt into it.
"Thank you, Your Grace," you whispered, your voice faltering as the emotions of the moment swirled around you. Alicent’s embrace felt almost too warm, too human, for someone like you—a creature cursed with an eternity of isolation.
But the sound of a throat clearing broke the brief moment of tenderness. You and Alicent quickly parted, your attention drawn to Aemond, whose eye was fixed on you with a simmering impatience. He stood tall, his presence commanding and unyielding, barely sparing his mother a glance.
"Mother," Aemond said, his voice cutting through the air like the blade of Dark Sister itself, "I need to speak with the Queen in private."
Alicent’s brow furrowed at his words, the slight tension between mother and son palpable. She opened her mouth, perhaps to question or protest, but something in Aemond’s gaze silenced her.
He was resolved, and Alicent, wise enough not to provoke him further, merely pressed her lips into a thin line. Her gaze shifted between you, Helaena, and Aemond, weighing the gravity of the situation, before she nodded, albeit reluctantly.
"Of course, Aemond," Alicent finally said, her voice gentle but tinged with concern. She gave you one final look—filled with questions she would not yet ask—before turning to leave.
She paused only briefly by Helaena’s side, offering her daughter a reassuring touch, then swept from the room, her presence lingering even after the door had closed behind her.
The silence that followed was heavy, the air thick with unspoken words. Aemond, still standing with that unyielding presence, took a step closer, the intensity in his gaze impossible to ignore.
Helaena’s gaze, usually serene and distant, was now clouded with confusion. She glanced between you and Aemond, sensing that the weight of what you were about to reveal was far greater than she’d anticipated. Yet, she remained silent, waiting, her hands folded neatly in her lap, as if bracing herself for the truth.
Aemond’s presence, on the other hand, was far more commanding. He stood tall, casting a sharp glance at the maids and ladies in waiting, who quickly scurried out of the room under the silent weight of his glare.
It was only when the door closed behind them, leaving just the three of you in the chamber, that the tension in the room thickened.
You swallowed, steadying yourself before speaking. "Helaena," you began, your voice calm but edged with the gravity of the moment, "do you remember the night I left with Jaehaerys?"
Her delicate features twisted slightly as she recalled the night in question, a memory clearly etched into her heart. Her voice, usually soft and melodic, was now laced with sorrow. "You saved my children… from the rats."
Rats. That was how she had chosen to remember Blood and Cheese—the two men who had threatened her family’s life. A kinder word for the monsters they truly were.
"Do you remember how?" you asked carefully, watching her reaction, feeling the weight of Aemond's unwavering gaze on you.
Helaena frowned as she spoke again, her words as innocent as they were brutal. "You tore the first man’s throat with your teeth… and you commanded the other to stab himself."
The room grew colder with the silence that followed. Aemond’s eye had darkened, his expression a mix of astonishment and curiosity. You could feel him piecing together what had happened, what you had kept from him for so long.
You nodded slowly, acknowledging the truth of Helaena's words. "Yes," you confirmed, your voice barely above a whisper. "That was me. What you saw… was only a glimpse of what I truly am."
Helaena blinked, her gaze softening with understanding, though confusion still lingered in her eyes. "But how?" she whispered, her voice shaking slightly.
You turned your attention to Aemond then, meeting his gaze directly, feeling the intensity of his scrutiny. His silence was louder than words, and his curiosity sharper than any blade.
"In the beginning, our family was human, five centuries ago now," you began, your voice steady despite the tremor running through your heart.
"Though our mother dabbled in the dark arts, we were mostly a family like any other, trying to survive in a time when survival was far from guaranteed." A faint smile ghosted your lips, though it did not reach your eyes. "And for a time, we were happy."
A heavy silence fell over the room as you turned away from Helaena and Aemond, your gaze drifting to the shadows cast by the flickering sunlight. Helaena rested on her chaise, her eyes wide with curiosity, while Aemond remained at the center of the room, his stance rigid, every muscle poised in anticipation.
"But that happiness," you continued, your tone darkening, "was shattered one night. My younger brother, Hendrik, was killed. Slain by the very creatures who ruled our village’s nights—men who could transform into wolves under the full moon."
Aemond’s eye narrowed slightly, his attention sharp, but he did not speak. Helaena, sitting quietly, clutched her hands together, her gaze never leaving you as you spoke.
"Our family was devastated," you said, your voice cracking as you recalled the memory of your brother’s death. "You see, before I was even born, my parents had already known such pain. They had lost their first daughter, Freya, to a fever one harsh winter. My mother, shattered by grief, vowed she would never lose another child. So, when Hendrik was taken from us, our father forced her to act. He demanded she call upon the darkest of magics to protect us from ever falling prey again."
You paused, letting the weight of those words sink in. "Thus, the first vampires were born," you whispered. "But with this strength, this speed, this immortality, came a curse. A hunger."
"A hunger for what?" Helaena’s voice was soft, laced with the innocent curiosity she often carried, though now tinged with something darker—fear.
You met her gaze, your own eyes hard with the truth you could no longer conceal. "For blood," you answered, the word hanging in the air like a blade waiting to fall.
"We do not require food or water, those are indulgences. Pleasures we once took for granted, now rendered meaningless. What we need to sustain ourselves… is blood. Without it, we wither. We decay, like corpses left to rot in the ground."
The silence that followed was thick, suffocating. Helaena’s face paled, her fingers trembling slightly as she absorbed your words. Aemond’s expression remained unreadable, though the flicker in his eye betrayed the internal storm he was wrestling with.
You inhaled deeply, forcing yourself to continue, knowing that this truth was just the beginning. "The blood lust consumes us if we let it. My family, we learned how to control it, how to live among humans without succumbing to the beast within. But it is always there, lurking beneath the surface."
The silence in the room felt suffocating, pressing down on you like a weight too heavy to bear. Desperate to break the tension, you spoke before your thoughts could catch up to your words. "I could show you," you blurted out, your voice barely above a whisper.
Aemond blinked, his singular eye narrowing in intrigue as he stepped closer, his presence commanding. "Show us? How?" His tone was measured, but you could hear the underlying curiosity—perhaps even a touch of suspicion.
"Through my memories," you replied softly. "One of my many gifts." You could feel the energy pulsing in your fingertips as you spoke, the ancient magic within you stirring. "It’s the only way for you to truly understand." You gestured for him to take a seat beside Helaena, who looked between the two of you with wide, expectant eyes.
Aemond hesitated for only a moment before following your instruction, settling beside his sister. His sharp gaze never left you, as if he was weighing every move you made, every word you spoke.
You stood before them, inhaling deeply as you focused your mind, your fingers lightly brushing their temples. The magic flowed, ancient and powerful, as you called upon the memory you intended to share.
The scene that unfolded was vivid, like stepping into a dream. The air was filled with laughter and song, the night lit by the glow of bonfires and candles as your village celebrated one of its strange but joyous holidays.
You had been so naïve then, your heart unburdened, the grief of Hendrik's death momentarily forgotten. You could feel the warmth of the night, the joy in the air as you twirled around the fire, Finn’s laughter ringing out as he spun you in a carefree dance.
The memory shifted—your joy dimming as you realized how late it had grown. You had stayed out far past your curfew, long after your family had returned home.
Panic clawed at your chest as you hurried through the darkened streets, the vibrant festival fading behind you as you made your way toward your family’s hut. The village that had felt so alive only moments before now seemed eerily quiet, shadows stretching long across the ground.
You moved without caution, without thought, only the mounting dread driving you forward as you rushed into the hut. What you saw froze your blood in your veins—a massacre.
You guided Aemond and Helaena deeper into the memory, forcing them to see, to feel what you had felt. The dread, the growing realization that something was terribly wrong.
You could feel Aemond stiffen beneath your touch, but he didn’t pull away, his curiosity holding him still. Helaena’s breath quickened, her hand instinctively reaching for your wrist as the memory unfolded.
Everywhere you looked, blood painted the walls and floors, the very scent of it thick and suffocating. The bodies of your siblings lay strewn about, lifeless, their blood seeping into the ground. A scream tore from your throat, raw and filled with the kind of anguish only centuries could numb.
Your eyes immediately found Niklaus, lying in a pool of his own blood. His eyes were closed, and a deep wound marred his chest. You dropped to your knees beside him, shaking his shoulders, your hands slipping against his blood-soaked skin. "Niklaus, wake up!" you sobbed, desperate, unwilling to accept what your eyes were telling you.
But Niklaus didn’t stir. None of them did. Elijah, Rebekah, Finn, Kol—they all lay broken and still.
More cries racked your body, your voice hoarse from screaming as you knelt among the fallen, each heartbeat filling you with an unbearable grief. Then, a sound from behind—a voice, cold and venomous, cutting through the chaos like a blade.
"You know not how long I've waited for this moment."
Your blood ran colder than before. Slowly, you turned, your heart pounding as your gaze fell upon the figure in the doorway. Your father, Mikael, stood bathed in the blood of his children, his face twisted in cruel satisfaction. His sword dripped with the very essence of your kin, your family.
Before you could even draw breath, his sword flashed, and a sharp, searing pain pierced your chest. You gasped, a choked sound escaping your lips as you stumbled back, the life draining from you.
Your knees buckled beneath you as you collapsed beside Niklaus, your body growing cold. The strength seeped from your limbs as darkness edged in from the corners of your vision.
Mikael’s cold gaze remained fixed on you, watching as your life slipped away. Your final breath left your lips in a shudder, your hand still reaching for Niklaus, but he remained still.
The memory surged forth, a vivid nightmare that felt all too close, even after all the years that had passed. It was a dark night, mere weeks since your transformation, and chaos reigned in the village.
The villagers, fueled by fear and anger, sought to rid themselves of you and your siblings after the bloodshed that had followed your awakening—a bloodlust you had barely begun to comprehend.
Finn and Kol had already made their escape. Finn’s voice had been urgent, his grip firm on your arm as he implored you to join him.
But you had begged him to stay, to help your family escape together. Yet his resolve had faltered, and he had slipped away into the night, leaving you behind in a whirlwind of dread and desperation.
Elijah and Rebekah were frantically packing the remnants of their lives, their expressions strained with urgency. You could feel the weight of fear suffocating the air around you, a heavy tension that made your heart race.
The deep-seated hatred your father held for you and Niklaus loomed over you like a storm cloud, threatening to break at any moment. It was a hatred that could ignite into violence without warning, and you knew it.
Your heart raced as you realized it was up to Niklaus to persuade your mother to flee with you. You paced, the flickering fire casting shadows that danced on the ground, mirroring the turmoil within you.
Then, at last, Niklaus entered your line of sight. He stepped through the trees, and the world around you came to a halt. There was something unsettling about him; his usual bravado was replaced by an unsettling vulnerability. His hands trembled slightly, fingers clenched at his sides as though they held the weight of the world.
"Niklaus," you asked, worry knotting in your stomach as you approached him, gently cupping his hands in yours. "What’s happened? Where’s Mother?"
His terrified blue eyes met yours, glistening with unshed tears. He shook his head, and dread filled the air between you. "She’s dead."
Time seemed to freeze, the world around you fading into a blur. You blinked, disbelief clouding your mind. "What?"
"I—" He swallowed hard, anguish etched on his features. "Father—he—he killed her."
The words crashed over you like a wave, cold and suffocating. Tears welled in your eyes as the harsh reality settled into your bones. "No. No! This can’t be!"
You turned away, desperation flooding your veins as you intended to return home, to your mother. But before you could move, Niklaus’s arms encircled your waist, holding you tightly against his chest. "You cannot go back!"
"Let me go, Niklaus!" you yelled, anguish spilling forth in choked sobs. "Mama! Mama!"
The name echoed in the forest, each cry a plea, each scream an invocation. You expected her to appear, to sweep you up into her embrace and assure you that everything would be alright. But the silence that followed was deafening, a stark reminder of the void she left behind.
You broke down in Niklaus's arms, the weight of your grief crashing over you like a tide. He held you tight, rocking you gently as if you were still a child. In that moment, nothing else mattered but the ache in your heart and the overwhelming emptiness that threatened to swallow you whole.
"A glooming peace this morning brings; the sun, for sorrow, will not show his head," you recited softly, your voice echoing in the dim light of the crypt. The words from the latest play felt heavier in the air, reflecting the turmoil that had once engulfed England.
"Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things; some shall be pardoned, and some punished. For never was a story of more woe than this of Juliet and her Romeo."
Your gaze drifted down to Finn, lying in that same accursed casket, the familiar silver dagger lodged deep in his chest. Time had moved on, and yet here you were, five hundred years later, still shackled by the past.
Your family had relocated to Denmark, leaving the ruins of England behind, but the pain of loss clung to you like a shroud. Finn remained as he was, forever caught in that moment, forever untouched by the passing centuries.
Elijah had gifted you the latest work from an emerging playwright, a man named William Shakespeare, with the hope that it would bring you some joy.
You had thought it fitting to share the story with Finn while he lay in eternal slumber, believing that perhaps the beauty of words might bridge the chasm between the living and the dead.
As you reached the poignant conclusion, tears brimmed in your eyes, the heart-wrenching tale resonating within your very soul.
You closed the book gently, feeling the weight of both grief and longing. Your heart ached not just for the characters but for the brother you had lost to a fate more cruel than death.
“That was quite sad, was it not?” you murmured, your voice barely above a whisper as you looked at Finn's serene face, still and undisturbed. "Even in the depths of darkness, love remains, yet it always seems to come at a terrible cost."
You ran your fingers gently over the spine of the book, as if the words could somehow transcend the veil of death and reach him. “I wish you were awake to truly enjoy this story with me,” you murmured, your voice barely breaking the silence of the mausoleum.
A sudden idea ignited in your mind, flickering like a candle in the dark. When you and your family had moved to a sprawling mansion in the lush countryside of Denmark, you had insisted on a grand mausoleum to be built for Finn.
It was a sanctuary for you and a place where Finn could rest peacefully, far removed from the grim dungeons of England that Niklaus had left him in.
Your gaze wandered to the entrance of the crypt, the heavy stone door that concealed the world outside. Then your eyes fell on the dagger lodged in Finn’s heart, its silver glinting in the dim light.
Perhaps? If only for a fleeting moment? The thought pulsed through you like a heartbeat, urging you onward.
As your hands glided over the hard wood of his coffin, they trailed down to Finn’s body, gently caressing his dark hair. You could almost feel the warmth of him again, a reminder of the brother you had lost.
Your heart raced, anticipation mingled with trepidation, as you finally wrapped your fingers around the silver dagger.
In that heartbeat, you paused, caught in the gravity of your decision. Then, with a deep breath, you began to pull it from his chest, the air heavy with unspoken consequences.
“What are you doing!”
The sharp voice sliced through the quiet, causing your hand to jerk away from the dagger and fly to your heart. You turned to find Niklaus standing in the doorway, a gift box clutched in his hands, yet his expression was thunderous, dark clouds gathering in his stormy blue eyes.
You shook your head rapidly, feeling your hands tremble with uncertainty. “Nothing, Nik, I promise.”
In the blink of an eye, Niklaus was in front of you, his speed making him appear like a shadow, silent and swift. The gift he had been holding now lay discarded on the cold stone floor.
His grip tightened around your arms, painfully firm, causing a pained whisper to escape your lips. His gaze bore into yours, filled with a tempest of betrayal and fury as he hissed, “Do not lie to me, sister.”
The weight of his anger made your heart race, and you winced as tears welled up in your eyes, blurring the sight of his hardened expression.
“I-I just thought Finn had been asleep long enough,” you stammered, your voice trembling, trying to explain while knowing there was no real justification that would soothe him.
His grip only tightened, his eyes flashing with a dangerous intensity. “So you betray me like this?” The raw accusation in his tone stung worse than his hold on you.
“No, Nik, never,” you whimpered, your voice fragile as you shook your head again. “Please, you're hurting me.”
But Niklaus seemed deaf to your plea, his rage drowning out your words. His grip tightened even more, and his voice rose with a venomous edge. “You forget he is daggered because of you! I did this for you!"
“I know, Nik,” you murmured softly, wincing as the pain in your arms deepened, both from his hold and the weight of his words.
“After everything I’ve done for you,” Niklaus bellowed, his frustration clear as his voice echoed through the room, “Why can you not see that Finn would never do the same? He would never go to such lengths to keep you safe!”
Tears spilled freely from your eyes as you turned your gaze away from him, the overwhelming guilt pressing down on your chest. "I’m sorry," you whispered, your voice breaking under the strain of his fury.
His words pierced through you like a dagger, each one sharp with betrayal and hurt. “I’ve protected you,” he continued, his voice cracking with emotion, “I’ve killed for you, sacrificed everything, and still, you go behind my back!”
Sobs overtook you, your entire body trembling as the weight of his anger and your guilt suffocated you. “Niklaus, please,” you begged, your voice barely a whisper, your heart aching with the knowledge of how deeply you had wounded him.
At that moment, his rage faltered, and his piercing gaze locked onto yours. The room seemed to still as his next words fell like a chilling curse, low and filled with a cruel finality. “I should put a dagger in your heart.”
A sob tore from your throat as you shook your head, pleading with silent desperation. Just as you thought his fury would turn violent, the tension snapped.
Niklaus was suddenly knocked aside, and you found yourself enveloped in warm, protective arms. Elijah. His presence was steadying, his voice calm but commanding as he faced his volatile brother. “Niklaus! You are scaring her.”
“She should be scared!" Niklaus roared, pointing an accusing finger toward you, his fury still burning brightly. You buried your face deeper into Elijah's chest, seeking refuge from the storm that was your brother’s wrath. “Does she not understand? If Finn were awake, we’d have been put down by Mikael long ago!”
Tears streamed down your face as you clung to Elijah, your voice breaking under the weight of your guilt. "I'm sorry, Nik. I didn’t mean to. I didn’t—”
Niklaus’ breathing was ragged, his rage simmering just beneath the surface, threatening to explode. But Elijah remained calm, his hold on you firm.
“Niklaus, leave,” Elijah said, his voice quiet yet authoritative, leaving no room for argument.
Niklaus inhaled sharply, his gaze flickering between you and Elijah, his anger barely contained. His voice dropped to a low, dangerous murmur. “You forget yourself, sister.”
His words cut deep, filled with cold warning. “Finn remains daggered for a reason. Do not mistake my love for you as permission to defy me.”
With that, he stormed out, his presence leaving a void as heavy as the tension still lingering in the air. The silence that followed was suffocating, and in its wake, your emotions broke free.
You collapsed into Elijah’s arms, your sobs shaking your body, the words tumbling from your lips in a fevered rush. “I didn’t mean to, Elijah. I swear, I didn’t mean to. Please, don't let him dagger me.”
Elijah held you close, his touch gentle as he caressed your head, whispering soothingly into your ear. “I won't, sweet sister,” he murmured, his voice a balm to your frightened heart. “I give you my word.”
The next morning, you woke with a dull ache in your chest, the familiar weight of sadness pressing down on you like an old wound that never healed.
The grand four-poster bed, with its silk curtains and velvet drapes, felt like a prison—beautiful, but suffocating. You turned over, pulling the heavy covers tighter around yourself, but the pain lingered, gnawing at your heart.
It always ached. That deep, unshakable sorrow had taken root long ago, twisting itself around your soul. You wondered, in those quiet, lonely moments, if you were going mad.
The only thing tethering you to sanity, to something real, was Elijah—his steady presence, his unwavering devotion. Without him, you feared you might fall apart completely.
As you shifted, your gaze caught something on the edge of the bed that made your breath catch in your throat. There, resting on the quilt, was the same gift box Niklaus had held the night before. Slowly, cautiously, you reached out, bringing it onto your lap as if it might break or vanish in your hands.
The lid opened with a soft creak, revealing a small, velvet jewelry case. Your heart stuttered as you lifted the lid, and tears welled in your eyes. Inside was a simple silver pendant, its surface gleaming faintly in the morning light. Encrusted in the center was an ornate "M" for Mikaelson.
Niklaus always did this. After the rage, after the terrifying outbursts, after he screamed at you and made you feel small—he would leave an apology gift, never speaking a word of the pain he caused.
It was his way. He never asked for forgiveness. He just assumed you would give it, time and time again.
And you did.
Every single time.
Your fingers trembled as you lifted the pendant from the case, letting the cool metal slide through your hands. With a resigned sigh, you fastened it around your neck, the chain resting against your skin like a silent promise. It was beautiful, yes, but it was also a reminder of the cycle you could never escape.
As the pendant settled against your chest, you wiped away the tears that threatened to spill over, whispering to yourself, “He did not mean it.” You had said it so many times before, hoping that if you repeated it enough, you might actually believe it.
But deep down, you knew the truth.
Niklaus loved you. In his own broken, twisted way, he loved you and your siblings more than anything. But his love was a storm—wild, uncontrollable, and dangerous. And every time you forgave him, you found yourself standing in the eye of that storm, waiting for it to rage again.
Slowly, you pulled yourself back to the present, forcing Helaena and Aemond from the depths of your memories as you stepped away. Your breath came in ragged gasps, and your trembling hands wiped the dampness from your cheeks. You had lived lifetimes hiding this pain, but tonight it had clawed its way out.
Helaena’s face was pale, her own tears mirroring yours. She trembled, wide-eyed, as if the weight of your confession threatened to break her. And Aemond... Aemond’s single eye bore into you with a mix of disbelief and something deeper, something far more devastating.
He stared at you as if you were a ghost, a shadow of the person he thought he knew. For the first time, it seemed, he truly saw you—broken and damaged in ways that not even centuries could mend.
You forced a tight, bitter smile, the words catching in your throat as you truly introduced yourself, "I am the youngest child of the original witch, Esther Mikaelson. My siblings and I are the first of our kind—vampires born from blood and magic. We are the strongest creatures in this world, and yet..." Your voice wavered, betraying the sorrow that clung to every word, "we are damaged beyond repair."
You looked between them, your eyes hollow, carrying the weight of endless centuries of pain. "We live without hope, but we will never die. We are the definition of 'cursed'."
The room fell silent, a heavy, oppressive stillness that mirrored the truth of your existence. You swallowed hard, repeating the words that had once been a promise but had long since turned to chains, the mantra that bound you and your siblings to each other.
"Always and forever."
Heloop can you do one of baby Mikaelson, that she is always with nik and Elijah but when Hayley comes to leave with them yn what to be with her
New Favorite
Baby Mikaelson sister reader x Hayley marshall (+ Klaus & Elijah)
Warnings: pregnancy?
A/n: I've been wanting to write something like this for a while and I got so happy when this request came in!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You peek out from behind your big brother, Elijah's, leg. Across the room, where she's sitting on the couch with her legs crossed, is Hayley. The lady who all of your brothers and sister have been fighting about what should happen.
Apparently something happened with Niky and her, but no one will tell you and you've been too nervous to go up to Hayley and actually say something to her.
The closest you ever gotten to her is right now, holding on for dear life to Elijah's leg. You don't like being around people you aren't familiar with. Which I weird that you're feeling like that with Hayley, Elijah has been noticing, since you technically have met her before in Mystic Falls. But you guys did just move back to New Orleans and it's a bigger change for you considering you like being in Mystic Falls, that's sometimes hard to believe truthfully for him. Then again you don't have some horrendous memories of the place like the others do.
You look at what she's wearing and your eyes land on her hands. On her fingers, there are a couple rings in various shapes and some have a colorful stone on them.
Elijah is talking with Niky. It sounds like he's mad with him. Though that's not really concerning to you considering he and Elijah get into fights all the time, so you're used to it. The same with when Niky and Bekah also get into fights.
As they continue to squabble, you carefully start letting go of your big brother's leg and start to make your way over to Hayley. You move slowly, not wanting to accidently trip like you do sometimes when you're nervous or excited.
Hayley looks down and sees you standing a couple feet away the end of the couch supporting your small basically toddler frame. She smiles softly, she took a liking to you during her time in Mystic Falls. Even though she despised, and still kinda does, Klaus, she likes how he acts all soft and protective of you.
She's noticed you're basically always with either Elijah or Klaus. Whether that be them carrying you, holding your hand, you attached to their legs or just being in the same room.
"Hi there" She speaks to you first, her tone soft.
You look up at her with big eyes and take a small step towards her, still holding onto the couch cushions on the way. You lift your other tiny hand up to give her a small wave.
It takes you a moment to climb up on the couch and sit down on your knees, facing her.
She has to admit, You're pretty cute.
You look up at her face and then down at her hands, repeating that a couple more times. Your sight finally lands on her hands. The rings shine under the light.
She realizes it's her rings you're looking at, so she moves her hand and places it in front of you, right above your knees. "You like my rings?" She asks you quietly.
You wrap your tiny hands around her hand and start tracing the ring with a butterfly on it. It takes you a moment to reply, but quietly you finally say something, "Pretty." You mumbled before looking back up at her, your hands still clutched to hers.
"It is, isn't it?" She smiles.
Rebekah walks into the house from being out all day. She rolls her eyes at the two arguing. Instead, she made her way to the both of you.
"Well, I think it's time for a certain someone to get ready for bed," She tells you after reading the clock that's sitting on the mantel.
You frown before complying and climb off the couch. You reach up and grab your big sister's outstretched hand. As you guys start walking toward the stairs, you look back and wave a 'bye' to Hayley.
Over the next few months, you start spending more time with Hayley. You got attached to her quickly. She revealed to you about being pregnant with Klaus' child, earning an excited reaction from you, and getting a smile out of herself as well.
It seems as if you're spending more time with Hayley than your brothers. As Rebekah has teased your guys' brothers about.
Klaus sits with you on your bed, trying to get you to sleep. Which isn't working in his favor. When you want to be, you can be more stubborn than Rebekah, and that's saying something.
"It's past your bedtime" He whispers. He's not exactly trying that hard anyway, but you usually listen to him.
"Bad sleep" You frown up at him. "No, not bad sleep, you need sleep, or else you'll be grumpy in the morning," He says, leaving out the point on how Elijah will have his head if he lets you stay up way too late again.
"So let's lay back down, curl up, and go to sleep," He tells you softly, handing you your stuffed yellow teddy bear.
You slowly follow his wording and snuggle your teddy bear as he tucks you in. Your brother places a kiss on your head before turning the lamp off and slowly leaves the room.
After laying in your bed for ten minutes, unable to fall asleep, you sit back up and shuffle out of your bed.
You quietly walk out into the hallway until you find yourself in what used to be Kol's room and now is Hayley's. You patter in and Hayley looks up from her book to see you standing a couple feet away with your teddy bear clutched in your hand.
"Hey sweetie, aren't you supposed to be in bed" She asked you, already knowing the answer. "uh-uh" You shake your head and walk over to the bed and climb up with Hayley helping you.
"Whatever you say, hun" She chuckles.
You crawl closer to her. She lifts her right arm up, having you cuddle into her side. You move down a bit to rest your head on her pregnancy bump. You giggle from the feeling of magic coming from the baby. You're the only one who seems to be able to feel any of it.
You hug your teddy with one arm while your other hand is tracing shapes on Hayley's bump, tiredly. Not even ten minutes later, you're out like a light.
Klaus searches around the house, trying to find you. He hasn't seen you all morning. While he searches, Elijah stands up from where he's sat. "What's wrong?"
"I can't seem to find our baby sister anywhere" Klaus answers before leaving the room, obvious that you're not in here. Elijah follows after him.
"Have you checked Hayley's room?" Elijah asks him. That makes him pause before going up the stairs to where the bedrooms are.
He opens the door to the pregnant werewolf's room and walks in. What he sees makes him breathe a sigh of relief. Showing in front of them, Hayley and you are sound asleep, you cuddled into her arms with your bear still in your grasp.
"What are you two doing? There are more than enough reasons as to why not to wake up one of them, let alone both of them" Rebekah whisper at them, pulling the two men out of the bedroom and closing the door.
"But I think, you guys have been replaced with a new favorite" Rebekah smirks, nodding to Hayley's door before walking away.

A Father's tender care
Y/n watches from a distance, a soft smile playing on your lips as you observe the scene before you. Klaus, your husband and the father of your child stands in the center of the room, cradling your precious daughter, Hope, in his arms. The love and adoration in his eyes are evident as he gazes down at her tiny face. Klaus, known for his ferocity and strength, has always possessed a softer side when it comes to his family. And seeing him with Hope only amplifies that tenderness. His large hands carefully support her delicate body, his touch gentle and protective. It warms your heart to witness the sheer devotion he has for your little girl.
You step closer, unable to resist the urge to be near them. As you do, Klaus looks up, his eyes meeting yours. There's a spark of joy and pride in his gaze, mirroring the same emotions that swell within you. You can't help but feel an overwhelming sense of contentment, knowing that your husband loves your daughter as fiercely as he loves you.
Klaus smiles at you, his expression softening even further. "Look at her, love," he whispers, his voice filled with awe. "Our daughter, our little Hope."
You nod, your heart brimming with happiness. "She's perfect, Klaus. And she's so lucky to have you as her father."
His smile widens, and he leans in, pressing a gentle kiss to your lips. "And I'm the lucky one to have both of you in my life."
As Klaus cradles Hope, you place a hand on his arm, feeling a surge of motherly pride. You know that, with him by her side, your daughter will grow up surrounded by unconditional love and protection.
And as you watch Niklaus dote on your daughter, you can't help but feel an overwhelming sense of love for both of them.

Can u write something about the reader complaining about how klaus never talks to her about his issues so one day he ends up opening up to her about mikael and stuff when he was a kid and the reader comforts him?
What does it mean to be a man?
Klaus stormed straight up the stairs when we got home.
He, Elijah and Rebekah had just faced Mikael, their father.
Hayley and I had been with the wolves and with Hope to make sure Mikael couldn’t get to her.
We all returned to the abattoir when we got the call that it was safe and the silence that over took the home was heavy.
Hayley took Hope up to bed, Rebekah went off to find Marcel and Elijah took a seat with a glass of scotch. I debated going straight after Klaus but decided he needed a moment.
So I sat opposite Elijah and began to think.
“Elijah? May I ask you something?” I questioned quietly and he looked up to me in response
“What did Mikael…do to him?” I asked lowering my voice “I know that he was a bad man but I mean, was it verbal or physical or…” I trailed and Elijah stood up
“Physical mostly, you would have to ask Niklaus, I don’t think he would want you to hear it from anyone other than him. It’s a very emotional topic for him and well…he doesn’t exactly handle those well” he concluded and I nodded
“Do you think he would be upset with my asking?”
“He trusts you, more than he trusts most. Perhaps he won’t share it all but some is better than none” he replied
“Thank you Elijah” I whispered with a weak smile before heading to the stairs.
I went into our room but Klaus wasn’t in there. I frowned and sat on our bed, I listened for a moment before hearing a sniffling coming from the bathroom door. I stood slowly and cautiously made my way over, careful to not made sound to hear. He was whispering inaudibly to himself and clearing his throat.
I gave a light knock to the door before twisting the handle and opening it. He turned his head to me, his eyes were red and lashes wet but I didn’t mention it. He was only in his boxers for bed and his skin was clean from any blood.
“You okay?” I asked gently and he nodded before walking toward me. A kiss was pressed to my forehead, his hand found mine and he pulled me over to our bed.
“How was it with Hope in the bayou?” He questioned, his throat was croakier than normal and he tried to clear his throat again to get rid of it but it didn’t seem to work.
“It was okay, it’s muddy out there even in the summer but Hope had fun with the other kids” I told him while he pulled my shirt and shorts off so I was only in my underwear. “Did everything go smoothly with your- with Mikael? You took a little longer than we thought” I asked nervously. His eyes darted away from mine as his jaw clenched and he leaned forward to grab his top that I had worn to bed last night.
“It was…not great” he replied shortly.
He pulled the top over my head and I pushed my arms through the sleeves. He glanced to my eyes before shifted under the covers and opening his arm for me to slot beside him.
I moved down and into his hold, wrapping an arm around his torso and kissing his shoulder “what happened?” I asked and he sighed
“He was just going on about nothing” he muttered
“Well like what?” I pressed but I could feel his body shuffling uncomfortably as his tongue wetted his lips
“It doesn’t really matter now” he mumbled, “it’s been and done, no need to cry over spilt milk”
“I think this is a little more than spilt milk Klaus” I whispered
“It’s in the past” he muttered “it doesn’t mean anything now”
“Then why are you holding me like I’m going to disappear?” I asked while now being held tight against him, his arms were strong around me and his heart was going faster.
He didn’t respond and I sighed, I kissed his neck softly and felt his face against my hair
“It’s okay to cry sometimes” I whispered
“I don’t need to cry” he mumbled quietly
“Yes you do, everyone does” I murmur “and that’s okay, you don’t have anything to prove”
He remained silent again. I began to trace patterns onto his back and waited a moment as I heard him swallow thickly and sniff lightly
“You will always be more of a man than he ever was” I whispered and he tensed somewhat
“He was always seen as a strong man” he murmured quietly, “in our village, when we were humans, he was seen as higher up”
I hummed in acknowledgment, not wanted to ask too many questions yet.
“He was good with a sword…and with an arrow, he was an excellent hunter.” He continued “he just…he wasn’t an excellent father”
“Was he cruel to all of you?” I asked and he paused a moment
“Yes…Rebekah not as much, it was very frowned upon to lay a hand on a girl even then. The village was small, he wouldn’t risk that kind of chat going around. Besides I don’t think any of us would have let him touch her” he explained
“But you, Kol, Elijah and Finn?”
“Finn was their angel, both my mother and father. Kol was smart, which is a stupid sentence but he knew how far he could push things. He knew how to get away with things. His was more verbal” he muttered, he paused more a moment and pulled me closer “Elijah was one of mother’s favourites, she adored him and tried to reason with Mikael to leave him be. He mainly only got hit if he defended me”
“Why you?” I asked confused “he didn’t even know you weren’t his until later?”
“I don’t…I don’t know” he whispered, his voice growing quieter “he just…despised me”
We remained silent for several more minutes, my fingers played with the baby hairs at the top of his neck while his face nuzzled my hair.
“I’m gonna turn the light off so we can go to sleep okay?” I whispered as I pulled away from his embrace. I leaned behind me and flicked the lamp off before turning back to him. His eyes were concentrated on pillow beside him in a daze. I laid back down and faced opposite him, my hand brushed over his hair gently while I listened to him sigh out and his lashes flutter. “I love you Niklaus” I whispered to him, his gaze was on mine in an instant with water building up over his eyes to have a glossy affect. I smiled sadly at him as his jaw clenched to keep his tears at bay. My hand held the side of his face and my thumb wiped the stray tear that ran down the side of his nose.
“I love you more” he uttered as a few more tears escaped his eyes and he curled forward so his face was facing down. His hands tugged the duvet to hide the majority of his face.
I ducked under the covers with him and moved closer, I pressed my lips to his forehead before pulling his face to rest against the top of my chest. He let out a hot breath of air before releasing a quiet sob, my eyes closed as I stroked through his curls. “He can’t hurt you anymore” I told him quietly
“He hurts me every day” he cried “I’m just like him sometimes” he choked “I hurt people”
“Not like he did, you are nothing like him. Not ever.” I disagreed while shaking my head “look at how you are with Hope, you would never, never harm her” I reminded “you protect her because you love her unconditionally”
“Why couldn’t he love me like that?” He sobbed and my heart squeezed in pain
“Because he should never have been a father. There are certain people in the world who are just cruel and should not be blessed with souls like yours in their lives”
His head shook as he clutched onto the shirt I wore. “I’m sorry” he whispered
“For what?” I asked confused
“For pushing you away” he mumbled “I didn’t mean to make it so hard to love me”
“None of that matters to me” I promised him “I knew that you struggled, I knew what I was doing. And everything is okay now isn’t it?”
“I would never hurt you” he whispered
“I know that” I reassured “did…did Mikael hurt your mother too?” I asked timidly
“No…I think maybe he manipulated her but he didn’t touch her”
“Did she hurt you? Apart from the curse?” I questioned unsure
“She…she weakened me and damaged my self worth. She stood by my father when he abused me and said nothing. I will never forgive her for leaving me to suffer at his hands, she knew what he did to me”
“What did he do to you?” I asked gently “if you don’t mind my asking” I added quickly
“He humiliated me. All of the time, he made sure I was seen as weak and insignificant to everyone that knew of our family. And then he would beat me if I ever suggested I was more than a rug for him to wipe his feet on.” His frown had deepened, his tone sounding a little angrier rather than sad at the memories “I was never good at anything, I squished berries to make art instead of hunting. I was a less than a man in his eyes, and I still am despite all I have accomplished. I am stronger than he is and yet he still sees me as worthless” he continued, my hand stroked his face as he spoke to calm his swarm of emotions.
“You know that he’s wrong though, right?” I checked quietly and he remained silent
“You are strong, yes, but being vulnerable sometimes doesn’t make you any less a man” I told him firmly “do you remember what you said that one time? That you are the thing lesser men fear?” I asked and he breathed out a laugh and nodded “well I believe that still stands to be true” I murmured and kissed his cheek “you are much more than any other, you always have been. Do not doubt that” I told him “Do not ever doubt yourself again because of one pathetic excuse of a person.”

loss
klaus mikaelson x pregnant, fem!reader
summary: after an altercation between klaus and some werewolves, you lose you and klaus’ baby that he has grown to accept
warnings: miscarriage, death, pregnancy, torture, self-blame
-
Klaus had been arguing with several packs of werewolves for a few months now but you didn’t think it was so deep as for them to come after you and use you as leverage.
You were currently four months pregnant but you still didn’t carry a bump. You were so thankful, otherwise the werewolves would have killed you long before now. However, you were still worried for your baby as even stress could lead to a miscarriage.
As you sat against the wall, you let a few tears stream down your face, hoping for Klaus to hurry up and save you. Chains around your legs and arms allowed you freedom of a metre. You glanced down at your stomach worryingly. The alpha of the pack walked in dramatically. “Tell me where he is.”, he roared threateningly. “I’m sorry, I don’t know where he is.”, you said quietly. “Tell me!”, he repeated as he crouched down and grabbed your chin. “He doesn’t tell me where he goes.”, you mumbled softly.
“Thomas, get the chains.”, he ordered. “I will get the information out of you.”, he whispered to you aggressively. “I don’t have any information to give.”, you spat back at him viciously. The guy named Thomas came over and handed him some chains. “Stand up.”, he commanded. You shakily rose to your feet. “Last chance.”, he stated.
After a moment of silence, he began hitting you with the chain with such violence that you instantly began to bleed. You weren’t supernatural or anything special, you were only a human. You cried out as tears slid down your cheeks at an intense rate. “Hmm.”, he muttered after a couple of minutes. “Maybe you were telling the truth.”
You passed out.
Abruptly, your eyes opens and your eyes instantly flickered down to the red blood between your legs. Shit, you thought. You glanced around and once you as no one, you lifted up your sundress. “Shit. Shit. Shit.”, you muttered. Anger seized you and you began hitting the chains around you. You then just started overwhelmingly sobbing.
You had tired yourself out and your eyes automatically closed. Suddenly, you were awoken by the sound of murder. Your eyes lazily adjusted to the light and you saw a man around Klaus’ height. You hoped it was Klaus but you couldn’t really tell as you were lightheaded and your vision was blurry as a result from the blood loss.
You felt the man gently pick you up and you looked up and saw Klaus. You smiled tiredly. He glanced down at you and softly stroked your hair. You fell asleep in Klaus’ stable hold and before long, you were resting on Klaus’ bed.
As you regained control, you confessed: “I lost the baby, Klaus.”
He looked at you sadly. “I know. I couldn’t hear the heartbeat.”, he stated as he walked over to you. “I’m so sorry.”, you said as you broke down once he sat beside you. He just let you sob into his arms. “I should be the one saying sorry. I was the reason why they came to get you and even when they did have you I should have found you quicker.”, he said. You noticed a few tears silently cascade down his cheek but didn’t mention it.
“Klaus…”, you responded. “I didn’t mean to.”, you continued. “I know, love.”, he pulled you onto his lap. “It’s not your fault, love. We can try for a baby again, if you would like. Whenever you’re ready, of course.”, he soothed your worries as he massaged your back.

Stay With Me
Pairing: Kol Mikaelson x Human!Reader
Warnings: NSFW smut and blood
Word Count: 2,932
You and Kol had been sneaking around for a few months now and things were going great. When you two met there was an instant attraction but you both knew things could get messy fast due to you both running in opposing circles so to speak. Kol was an original after all and you, well you were just Carolines cousin visiting Mystic Falls for the summer.
You had met Kol at Carolines house while he was trying to hunt down his brother Klaus who seemed to have some sort of infatuation with your cousin. Of course, you had known all about this being extra close to Caroline. You two talk on the phone almost every day about the new gossip in each of your lives and naturally boys are almost always a topic of conversation. However, Caroline never mentioned Klaus had an exceptionally charming and good looking younger brother.
When he knocked at the door you weren’t expecting anyone home for hours and were, for lack of better words, indecent. Frankly you weren’t planning on answering the door or getting up off the couch until you finished the latest season of your current favorite show. Kol though, is quite persistent until he gets exactly what he wants. You finally broke about 10 minutes later, getting annoyed with all the knocking, and answered the door dressed in a thin baby pink pajama set that was a little too tight and a little to see through for your lack of a bra.
The tall and shockingly attractive stranger looked down at you, a bit taken aback. His mouth quickly turned up into a smirk as he leaned against the door frame saying, “Well this was not what I was expecting but I love a good surprise, Darling.”
“You know it’s rude to bang on peoples' doors when they are clearly ignoring you. Do you have a hard time taking hints?” you respond harshly.
“Mmm, I like pretty things with sharp tongues. I don’t mean to be rude love, I’m Kol.” He takes your hand and places a soft kiss on your knuckles. He continues without letting go, “I was just looking for my pain of a brother and assumed he’d be up to no good with his sweet Caroline. Either way I’ve never seen you around here before and I think my first priority should be changing that.” He chuckles. Kol licks his lips while looking you up and down undressing you with his eyes, not that your clothing leaves much to the imagination.
You pause before replying, already falling for his captivating nature, “Oh, you’re Klaus’ brother? Caroline never mentioned any brothers. I’m (y/n), Caroline is my cousin and I'm just here visiting for the summer, but I definitely need to make some more friends around here so I might grant your wish of getting to know me.” You say slow and seductive biting on your lower lip and looking up at him.
The way Kol was staring at you made your body tingle in anticipation more than you had ever felt before and you knew you just had to have him. It wasn’t long after that interaction that you two began seeing each other. You were careful not to draw too much attention to yourselves, so far as not even telling Caroline he had been to the house that day. Kol had vaugly explained the relationship his family had with the rest of the gang, and you didn’t want to be bothered by their opinions on who you chose to associate yourself with.
Fast forward a little over two months later and you were sneaking out to see Kol at least three times a week. He was like a drug you just wanted more and more of, like you couldn’t stop even if you wanted to. A few weeks into your relationship he told you almost everything, at least what you needed to know, about Mystic Falls such as the vampires, werewolves, witches, and the truth as to why he and his family don’t see eye to eye with Elena and the rest of the Carolines friends. At first you didn’t believe him about any of it until he showed you who he really was.
Seeing his face change with deep veins running down his under eyes and sharp fangs poking out of his teeth was terrifying at first, but Kol reassured you he wouldn’t hurt you, unless you asked him to.
...
“Darling, why must you care so much about what those idiots are doing anyway.” Kol said laying down on his king sized bed reading some old book he picked up off his bedside table.
“I don’t, well, I guess I do. It’s just it gets on my nerves how Caroline always is sneaking off with Elena to do things that I have to pretend not to know about when really, she should be spending time with me who came down here to get to see her in person for once.” You rant pacing around the room, annoyed with your cousin and her group of friends who treat you like you’re some innocent child.
Kol slams the book shut in irritation having listened to you ramble about nothing of real importance for the last hour or so and tosses it onto a nearby chair “That’s enough, I quite enjoy you, but I cannot stand to listen to another word about those blithering fools.”
In the blink of an eye Kol grabs you and pins you against the door, arms held above your head by your wrists. You gasp and look up at him through your lashes breathless waiting for his next move.
He leans in close whispering “If you continue talking about nonsense, I'm going to have to punish you, and you don’t want that now do you sweetheart? So, are you going to be a good girl for me?”
“Yes, sir.” you choke out a heat igniting in your core.
“Good answer darling.” Kol lets go of your wrists grabbing you under your ass and picking you up. You instinctively wrap your legs around his waist while he grinds himself into you and you can feel him harden between your thighs. He grabs a fistful of hair from the back of your head pulling you back and kissing you roughly. You moan into his mouth your hands finding their way to his hair tugging on the messy brown strands to try to fight for dominance, but it’s a losing battle.
He pulls away from you and you gasp for air as he makes his way down your neck with hot sloppy kisses pausing at just the right spot. He inhales and lightly drags his teeth across your skin. You know exactly what he wants from you, but he can’t bring himself to take it.
“Please Kol, I want you to do it.” you plead in a quiet yet needy voice. “Drink from me, I'm all yours just take it.” You've been wanting to see how it would feel for him to feed from you but never knew how to approach the subject. You couldn’t deny the jealousy that grew deep inside you when you thought of him drinking from other women. In fact, you wanted to be the only one he got his fix from.
He looked up at you to confirm this is what you wanted and when he saw the lack of hesitation in your eyes, he sped you over to the bed laying you down ripping your shirt clean off and throwing the tattered fabric to the floor. He takes a moment to let his eyes graze over your figure and admire the black lacey bralette that highlights your curves before sinking his teeth deep into your neck. You let out a little yelp from the initial sting of pain but that soon was replaced with absolute pleasure. Your head started to feel light and as he was drinking his right hand made its way down your body and into your pants pushing the fabric of your panties out of the way as his fingers began to tease your clit.
A loud moan falls from your mouth and your eyes roll back as he plays with you just how he knows you like it. Just as you start to feel lightheaded, he stops himself from feeding, making sure you didn’t lose too much blood and bites into his own wrist placing it to your mouth and telling you to drink to heal the wound on your neck.
“Aren’t you delicious.” He breathes out softly and licks excess blood off from where he punctured your neck. “And I’d bet in more ways than one.”
Kol stops playing with your clit pulling your shorts all the way off and removing his shirt before dropping to his knees on the floor. He pulls you to the edge of the bed by your hips and you whimper in anticipation. He teases you kissing your inner thighs creeping closer and closer to your middle before stopping.
“Beg for me.” He pauses and looks up at you
“Please Kol, I just want you to touch me I need it. I can’t wait any longer don’t tease me right now.” You whine bucking your hips towards him while he laughs quietly.
“Only because you listen so well.” He says before dipping his tongue between your folds.
“Oh my god!” you shout. Your legs subconsciously trying to close from how much pleasure you’re feeling. Kol forces them apart and keeps going dragging his tongue across your pussy drawing little circles around your clit causing you to arch your back screaming out in satisfaction.
“I’m so close.” you shout gripping at the sheets almost unable to take it anymore as he pumps two of his fingers inside of you. He continues to drag his tongue against your sensitive bundle of nerves while stroking your g-spot with his fingers. It isn’t long until pressure builds in your lower body and your legs start to shake uncontrollably. Screaming out you arch your back, eyes squeezing closed as waves of euphoria crash down on you.
Kol pulls away looking content with himself “I hope I didn’t wear you out too much darling, the fun is only beginning.”
He gets up off the floor and you sit up undoing his belt and unbuttoning his jeans hastily. As soon as the task is complete, he pulls his pants the rest of the way down letting his erection spring free. No matter how many times you were with him his size still made your eyes go wide. Immediately you take him in your mouth swirling your tongue around the tip and using your hands to compensate for what doesn’t fit. Kol tilts his head back groaning and grabs the back of yours urging you to take him in deeper.
The action makes you go faster bobbing down onto him eager to give back at least a fraction of the pleasure he just gave you.
You make sure to give him a show hollowing out your cheeks for extra suction and looking up at him through your lashes. You let out little moans as he hits the back of your throat allowing him to feel the vibrations of the noises causing him to grip the back of your head even harder. Soon you can feel his dick start to throb which you know means he’s close to his own release, but just before he cums he pushes you off of him.
Kol wastes no time turning you around ass up and pushing your chest down into the bed. You grip the bottom of the headboard to steady yourself bracing for what you know will come next. To your surprise instead of slamming into you he starts to tease you again with his hands pumping his fingers in and out of you and then sliding them down to graze over your clit. You bury your face into a pillow and whimper wanting nothing else but to feel him inside you.
“God you’re soaking wet, love. Is this what I do to you?” He pulls his fingers away and spanks your ass hard making you yelp.
“It’s all for you Kol. My pussy is all yours only yours.” You reply gasping.
“How did I get so lucky” Kol utters to himself, but before you can respond he thrusts himself into you harshly.
You cry out adjusting to his size as he fills you up completely. Kols fingers dig into your hips pulling you deeper onto him if that's even possible. He picks up the pace fucking you nice and deep until you're a moaning mess. Hungry to ruin you, he bends over to reach around your body with his right hand and uses it to play with your clit as he fucks you.
“I can’t take it” You scream out overwhelmed with how good he makes your body feel.
“You’re going to take it until I say so darling.” Kol grunts out not slowing down one bit.
Your body is aching for release as Kol slams into you repeatedly and you can no longer hold back your orgasm. You start to shake as all your muscles tighten up and your vision blacks out. All you can hear is a loud ringing in your ears and all you can feel is Kol inside of you as you cum for the second time that night.
Kol feels you cum on his dick and can’t contain himself as you tighten around him further. You screaming his name out in pleasure only makes him go harder not caring if you're still able to walk tomorrow or who can hear you loudly proclaiming who is making you feel this good. He follows not far behind you with his own release, groaning loudly filling you up with spurts of his warm liquid. Kol gives you some more thrusts, feeling territorial, wanting his seed deep inside of you to mark you as his own.
As he comes down from the high of his own orgasm, he pulls out rolling over and collapsing beside you pulling you closer. You’re feeling exhausted after all the energy Kol had taken from you and begin to drift off while lying on his chest.
“Not so fast (y/n), we have to get you cleaned up first.” Kol says softly kissing your head before getting up.
All you can manage back is a low groan as he walks into his ensuite bathroom. A minute later he came back in holding a warm damp cloth and began to clean you up. When he finished, he sped downstairs and returned with a cold bottle of water. Getting back into bed he sat you up against him and gave you small sips out of the bottle.
“You did amazing darling.” He praised while playing with your hair. “You can rest now. I’ll be here when you wake up.”
“You promise?” you spoke softly relaxing into his body.
“I give you my word. Now hush and close your eyes.”
It was so fast you didn't even realize you went to sleep until you woke up a few hours later still in Kols arms. However, you noticed at some point he had picked up the book he had been reading earlier. When he noticed you had woken up, he gently set the book down smiling gently down at you.
“Well would you look who's awake?” Kol teased. “Are you hungry love? I can go get you something to eat if you’d like?”
“No, I'm ok but thank you for the offer.” You smile until a somber look crosses your face.
“What’s going on in that head of yours (y/n)? Kol questions sensing the shift in your mood.
“It’s nothing, I just was thinking about how I need to leave to go back home soon and not to scare you off but... I don't want to leave you.” You break eye contact, look down and pick at your fingernails, afraid of what he might say. “I know this is just casual I don't mean to-”
“Don't leave.” Kol cuts you off grabbing your chin to make you look back at him. “I'm sure Caroline would love to have you stay with her for the school year and if not, you could just stay here with me. I have grown quite fond of you (y/n), that is if you’re willing to let our secret out to Caroline and the others.”
Your eyes widen, not expecting him to feel the same way let alone ask you to stay.
“My parents would never allow it, and shouldn’t you talk to your family before offering to let me live here?”
“Your parents won’t be a problem and if they are I have a few tricks that will make them more than happy to let you stay as long as you want. As for my family, they won’t mind. Rebeckah would love another girl around here to hang out with and I could care less what Elijah and Nik think, besides they owe me one after how many daggers they stuck in my chest.” His eyes narrowed as he spoke the last sentence.
Your heart skips a beat happy to know that Kol wants you just as much as you want him. You can’t respond fast enough excited for the extra time you'll get to spend with him even if that means being a little more involved in this crazy town full of secrets.
“In that case, I would love to stay as long as you’ll have me.”

Hi sweetie! Hope you're doing well. Could you write a Klaus Mikaelson x reader (the reader is Hope's bio mom, so the whole Dahlia betrayal didn't happen and no one was turned into a wolf) where it's set in season 3, the reader and Klaus are married and happy until Aurora comes along, and with her jealousy she makes y/n believe she and Klaus slept together (they didn't) so they have a big fight where Klaus didn't deny he slept with her (cause he was hurt she didn't trust him and stuff) causing them to split out. They only saw each other because of Hope, and they were verbally hostile towards each other (not much, just petty arguments) and after a while he kills Aurora bcs she threatened yn (or something similar) and they go back together and it's all fluff.
Have a great day!
Said Yes To Heaven
Y/n and Klaus are in love, happy and overwhelmed, especially since having welcomed their newborn baby only weeks ago. But what happens when an unwanted guest appears on their doorstep out of the blue, and suddenly Y/n isn't sure if she's just going crazy or there truly has been some infidelity?
Warnings - Mentions of pregnancy, blood, thoughts + scenes of trying to unalive someone else, and some light after-birth changes/affects our reader is going through.
Word Count - 4.6k
Masterlist | please reblog the fic if you like it!
So, long time no see, everyone? Hahah, it's surreal to me how you have stuck around, but I'm very glad at the same time :) Thank you for sending in this request, anon, and I'm sorry for taking so long! This is part 1/2 and this mainly has fluff, as I wanted to show you the happiness and all about this family before I tore it down in the next part (just so it'd hurt a little better, yanno?) Anyways, I'm a little rusty but I hope you'll enjoy this one even a little and I'll let you go now! Have fun reading <3
UPDATE: You can now read part two here!
Klaus took a few steps back from his doorstep, looking rather unpleasant to see his guest for the day. Because of course, out of the very blue, his ex-lover had been reminded of him. On the very day he had woken up to a crying baby and a cranky wife who was high on hormones after just having given birth.
Some days, he just couldn't get it right. But today was going to be the hardest of it all and he was not ready to face the music.
"Aurora," Y/n spoke from somewhere behind Klaus, her voice carrying a threatening echo. "To what do we owe the pleasure?" She was approaching the door slowly, her eyes and tone an exact contrast to the welcoming words falling out of her mouth like sweet honey.
Klaus' shoulders relaxed when Y/n brushed against him while she moved past to stand in front of him, making him lean against the doorframe.
"It's a lovely day, isn't it?" Aurora spoke, her voice like a little girl’s – sweet and gentle. But Klaus saw straight through it as well as the tick in his wife's jaw. "Heard that you gave birth to a baby g --"
Before Aurora could've finished, Y/n had her pinned to the doorframe opposite to the one Klaus was leaning against.
"Don't you even dare speak of my family," Y/n snarled, her fingers digging into the woman's throat as everything in her told her to rip it out. But before she could've, Klaus' lulling voice began slipping into her ears.
"Now, love," He said softly, grabbing a hold of her shoulders and bringing her back into him, knowing fully well that this wasn't something she truly wanted to do. Then, tucking her lone hair strand back into her braid, he cupped her cheeks – "Why taint the porch with her blood, hm?"
"Because I'd rather see her dead than listen to that filth for another second," she smiled sweetly, her anger evident in the grit of her teeth.
And she'd just begun turning to take a look at an embarrassingly flushed Aurora, when a cry tore through the silent household. For a small second, both Klaus and Y/n shut their eyes, taking a deep breath simultaneously before Y/n was walking back into the house.
"Take a nap with her, why don't you?" Klaus proposed, his back facing the unwanted guest. "I'll take care of this and join you two in a bit," he nodded, passing the exhausted mother of his little girl a sweet smile, encouraging her.
Then he turned back around, almost shutting the door behind him to keep whatever noise was to come at bay.
"What do you think you're doing here, Aurora?"
"I just wanted to see you, Niklaus," she muttered softly, taking a step closer to him. "I miss you," she confessed, reaching to place her hands on his chest.
He backed away just in time, releasing a sharp breath. "I didn't suspect you to be so idiotic and careless with your life," he said sharply.
"Only for you, Klaus." She was looking up at him with a million emotions swirling in her eyes. But Klaus knew better than to not notice malice being one of them.
"Whatever you're planning to do, drop it," he gritted through his teeth. "And stay far, far away, from my family," he warned her as he walked her off their porch and out of their house’ perimeter, tempting the woman in front of him to backtrack.
"Don't test me against this Aurora,” he started, his hands placed behind his back but his frame remained all the more intimidating.
“I will kill you if you even bat an eye in the direction of this house," he was almost beginning to shake now, trying his best to keep his anger at bay and not cause any destruction out here while his little family rested inside the house not too far away.
Leaving her standing, Klaus turned to get back in the house when Aurora called out his name.
"You love me, though! You know you love me," she shouted at him, and Klaus' eyes glowed golden, knowing exactly what she was trying to do here.
And the moment she saw his eyes, she stumbled a little.
"I know you love me, do you not?" She managed to croak out just before Klaus had his hand wrapped around her throat, enhancing the bruising his wife had marked earlier.
"This is your final warning," he growled in her ear before slamming her against the wall behind her, walking away and trying to lose his temper at the same time as he entered the house and shut the door behind him, wincing when a baby's wails followed the noise.
—
As the next morning rolled around, so did the first official day of Summer.
With Hope's little frame already covered in fresh grass, Y/n couldn't foresee the day getting any better. A loud laugh escaped her when Klaus pretended for it to have been hard work getting a hold of the very frantic Hope, who was as happy to see the sun as Y/n was.
"Look who's gotten herself all dirty," Y/n pouted, dusting off as much dirt as she could off of Hope's onesie, while Klaus softly wiped her face.
"Just learned to crawl and of course she's abusing the skill," Klaus murmured, only making his wife laugh again.
Y/n kept Hope caged in her lap with one arm, leaning back on the other one to soak in the sun. She exhaled a deep breath, before turning to look at Klaus, who was already smiling at her.
"You've been such a good father, have I told you that?"
He laughed at that, looking down to hide the blush creeping up his neck, and nodding with his eyes still set on the little ducklings printed on the blanket they were sitting on.
"You have," he began softly. "Many times, actually," huffing out a laugh, he looked up again, now catching Hope's big wondrous eyes as well.
"Good."
With a light groan, Klaus moved to lay beside her. "Hope couldn't have a better mum, though."
"Wouldn't want her to have another mum anyways," she laughed, leaning in just a bit to press a chaste kiss to the corner of his mouth that was curled in a grin.
And as the beautiful day passed them by, with Hope's full cheeks turned red due to the amount of fun she'd had, and Y/n's heart swollen with all the love she couldn't muster up properly at all, no matter how hard she tried – and Klaus knew that he could give it his all and still be unable to put this keen feeling rushing under his skin upon a canvas.
They'd truly said yes to heaven, when they'd said yes to each other on that one day in particular.
So, once they had shuffled back inside their house due to the chilliness increasing, Klaus made his way straight to the kitchen to heat up the leftovers while Y/n changed Hope’s clothes upstairs, in their bedroom. It didn't take long for the tired little girl to slip into sleep's arms and for her head to lull to the side, while Y/n was rocking her back and forth. So she stacked pillows around Hope’s body and went back down to Klaus, reaching just in time when a there was a knock on the door.
Now, with whatever Y/n had been expecting to come across, Aurora Martel at her door once again, was not it.
As she stood still on her ground, looking into the very woman's eyes who was not even supposed to be here anymore, her eyes began to fade to black only for the golden rim of a Hybrid to come through -- to caution the vampire standing in front of her before she attacked.
Because while Y/n hadn’t mentioned it to Klaus, she had heard her fake little love confession to Klaus yesterday and thought about the multiple ways she could unalive Aurora.
But she decided against putting in such effort and put her body through another wave of pain for the day. She was going to go about his normally, after all, she was the mother of the very man's child that this woman had clearly come after. And his wife, as well.
"Aurora De Martel, the hopeless-romantic human, who only grew more daring once turned into a vampire, at my doorstep all over again," Y/n began, walking to complete a circle around the woman.
"Not an ounce of stupidity was shred in the process-- you know, of your turning; I suppose, since you're clearly still in possession of it," Y/n continued.
Once she was in front of Aurora again, she took a step closer, the gaze of a predator still present in her eyes.
"Cat got your tongue darling?" She spoke, tilting her head to the side. "Where's that feisty little Vampire that I remember, hm?"
"I'm not that person anymore," Aurora began, struggling once Y/n had her in a choke hold again.
"No need to be a stinking liar, Aurora." Y/n gritted, dropping the choking one on the ground. "I can smell your intentions from miles away."
Y/n didn't tend to be such a threatening and volatile person, that was the reason that she'd fit so well with Klaus. And yet, she wasn't quite sure as to why she'd brought up this side of hers. She knew she wasn’t afraid or insecure that Aurora might get to Klaus; not at all.
But what she did know was that Klaus’ lovers popping back up only made her heart thud because of the potential danger they put Hope in.
She scoffed when Aurora scrambled to her feet, hands around her neck as she swallowed thickly.
“How are you, Y/n?” She croaked out, looking ahead of her despite the fact that Y/n was right by her side, now making another round around her.
“Hm, concerned, I’d say,” Y/n hummed. “For you, of course.”
Maybe the pregnancy had changed more about her than she’d originally thought. Or maybe, and hopefully, Y/n thought, it was just the hormones.
“How’s Klaus?” Aurora asked, mustering up the courage to turn and look Y/n in the eyes. “I supposed he’d be here,” she shrugged, "with you." The venom in her voice could be well detected, especially when she mentioned Y/n. And while her guards were high up, prepared for the hybrid to rip her to shreds -- she still held the fake confidence that that won't happen.
“Why don’t you ask him yourself? I’m sure he’d love to have a chat,” Y/n smiled at her before she walked into the house, towards the room she knew Klaus was putting away Hope’s stray toys in – but not before passing Aurora a cautioning glare, warning her against doing something stupid in her absence.
“Klaus?” She asked softly, entering the dark room, her eyes already following his figure as he put away the box of toys.
“We have a guest, I hear?” Klaus asked, walking up to her with a lazy smile. One of his arms snuck around her waist to pull her into him to press a kiss on her mouth.
“No actually – we have a doting lover on our door,” Y/n chuckled. “She’s eager to see you again,” she shrugged, quickly going back to press a kiss on Hope’s forehead before grabbing a very confused Klaus’ hand, leading him outside.
“Aurora,” he realised in annoyance, a deep frown in between his brows as he caught her sight from the top of the stairs. His mind was racing through a million things, the loudest question in there was, what in the hell was she doing here again? Didn't he warn her just yesterday?
“Isn’t it a pleasant surprise?” Y/n smiled brightly, coming to a halt herself. “I’ll leave you two to it,” she said, ignoring Klaus’ pleading look with an inner laugh as she turned away, most likely to arrange the dishes for their awaiting and heated dinner.
"Just make sure she doesn't ever dare to lose her way and end up here, again," she said, looking straight into Aurora's eyes before crossing over to the kitchen.
And from the corner of her eye, she saw Klaus shut the door behind him. So, trusting him against making a mess, she quickly cleaned up the kitchen before she was making her way upstairs to Hope’s room, to now feed her some formula and put her to sleep for the night.
"Are you in there, little wolf?" Y/n spoke from just outside the door, a silly grin on her face as she waited for the same reply she got everyday.
A random babbling noise that showed that Hope was indeed hungry.
Despite Hope's loud squeak and the sounds of her rolling around in her crib, Y/n walked into the room with the same look on her face – the pretended to have caught her daughter, awake, red handed.
"Hope! You don't wake up once I put you to sleep!" She gasped, swallowing a laugh and reaching with one hand to pick up the little girl, bringing her to sit on her lap while she backed to sit on the rocking chair.
With loud giggles, Hope hit her chest a couple times, grinning up at her while drool began pooling on the boundary of her mouth.
"Uh ah!" Y/n laughed, closing the baby's mouth and watching as she squealed again, this time her palm landing flat on Y/n’s cheek.
Risking a mess by placing the small bowl on her thigh, Y/n held Hope up with her back against her chest and lifted a spoonful.
"Yes!" She cheered when Hope took in the bite without closing her mouth halfway and spilling the rest down her chin.
Slowly and steadily, she let the girl swallow her meal before making her burp.
"Did I get you sleepy, little wolf?" Y/n giggled watching Hope's eyes droop.
"You're so sleepy all the time!" She pouted. "Never got the time on your hands to play with your mummy," chuckling and shaking her head, she got off the chair and walked over to the crib placed near Klaus’ side of the bed upon his insistence, putting the already asleep girl inside.
Lowering with her, Y/n pressed a chaste kiss on her full cheeks that now hung low. Silently, she walked over and peeked out of the door to see if the matter down the stairs had been sorted out.
But she didn't catch sight of either Klaus or Aurora. So, with a sharp frown between her brows and an anxious tick among her fingers, she hurried down the stairs -- only to confirm her first realisation, it seemed.
Knowing that Klaus couldn't have been hurt in any way, she headed back into the master bedroom to get herself into a nice bath and take some time off to relax.
She lit the candle that Freya had gifted her some time ago, and stepped into the bathtub full of soap foams. Her head lulled back and her eyes shut off, and she began to think of all the time she had been spending building this new little family recently.
It still felt so surreal, that Hope was finally here. It was all so new and overwhelming, but Y/n knew that neither her nor Klaus would trade this period of their life for anything. It was almost as if everything had fallen into pieces to fit a puzzle the moment they had welcomed their little daughter into this world.
There was no other source of light in the bathroom apart from the flickering candle, Y/n didn't feel like turning on the bright white light. And, as she began to tune into Hope’s breathing, she felt her heart begin to beat in sync with hers. It would’ve only been silence to human ears, but Y/n could hear the little puffs and the little movements of her mouth that she made in her sleep.
She could picture Hope’s head lulled to the side, her mouth slightly ajar and her small frame rising and lowering with each breath that she took. Then, Klaus faded into the photo and she could see Hope’s drool slipping onto his arm and drying up there, because of course Klaus had fallen asleep with her on the rocking chair.
And finally, she entered the picture herself and took the two of them into the master bedroom, laying Hope between the two of them and pressing kisses on both of their foreheads. After turning off the lights, she was looking at the two pieces of her heart sleeping peacefully, because she felt like she couldn’t miss this sight, because she probably won’t feel the time pass before Hope had to be put to sleep in a crib in her own room.
Just the idea of that brought tears to her eyes. Everything made her cry these days, and she does realise that it’s because of the hormones. But she doesn’t know how to explain the exhaustion of it all. The untrue and mean thoughts she got throughout the day, whether it was regarding her body or her new journey of being a mother and feeling scared that she’d go wrong somewhere and be hated by her own family for the rest of her life.
Just the energy it took to shut all those thoughts down and to reassure herself, remind herself of what was true and what wasn’t – took so much out of her that when Klaus held her in his arms at the end of the day, she just wanted to let go and fall into pieces, so that he’d bunch her up and tell her or show her stupid brain that Y/n was indeed right and that the thoughts were just her mind playing games.
Taking in a deep breath, Y/n rose and washed the soap off of her. She could think about this all day and all night, and she could drown in her sorrows for way too long than healthy. But right now, she needed to go and eat dinner if she wanted to sleep on time.
Which reminded her – she hadn’t heard Klaus come home. Had she missed it, or had he genuinely not come home yet? She began to focus on her hearing, and only came across Hope’s breaths, nothing else.
Maybe something had occupied him, she thought, wrapping a towel around her and exiting the bathroom.
—
Klaus was walking in their backyard with Hope in his arms, asleep, as always. He couldn’t balme her though – she was a newborn, after all, and had a lot to register in her brain in the couple hours that she was awake during the day.
She had been a calm baby so far. The midnight tantrums weren’t as frequent as others had warned him and Y/n about, maybe because they had way more stamina than an average human.
Y/n, right when she had woken up, had been dragged out by Rebekah and Freya. Trust me, Y/n, I’ve been through what you’re going through and it’s been two weeks since you’ve left the house with us! He had heard Rebekah say to Y/n in the kitchen, and he had agreed a hundred percent.
They had gone out for brunch, and maybe it was because they had a lot to catch up on, that Y/n hadn’t yet come home and it was nearing lunch time.
And Y/n, as much as she was enjoying her time out in as much sun as New Orleans got on an average, she was dying to go home. She was missing Hope and Klaus and before she could’ve said anything, Rebekah had herself proposed that they should have some dessert already because Klaus and Hope are probably seeing your sight on the doorstep, she’d laughed.
“I think I’m gonna walk home, the weather’s really nice,” Y/n said when Rebekah began to try and convince her for a lift in her car.
“Oh, okay!” Rebekah laughed. “You have come out after a long time, so sure!”
Y/n just passed the woman a narrow-eyed glare as she was hugging Freya.
“Juut text us when you reach home,” Freys said, walking off towards her car.
Y/n nodded, bidding goodbye and watching the two drive off before she dropped her smile and sighed. God, her cheeks hurt from how much she’d been smiling and laughing.
She had only walked a couple paces away from their eating spot when she heard footsteps. It was a busy time, a nice day, so many people were out and about. The city was kind of bustling. But still, Y/n turned to look and immediately, she groaned, coming to a pause.
“Seriously, Aurora?” She almost whined. “You take annoying someone to a whole another scale,” she said with a face that was genuinely twisted into annoyance and irritation.
“C’mon Y/n,” Aurora said with a newfound confidence, drawing Y/n’s attention right away. “Can’t you have a chat with me, too? Just us girls?” She grinned, and then rolled her eyes when she saw that flash of Hybrid golden in Y/n’s eyes.
“I’m not here to fight,” she said. “I’m here to make friends with you,” shrugging, she dared to take a step closer, testing the waters.
“Don’t be so over confident, Aurora,” Y/n gritted, having pinned the woman on a wall. “It almost got you killed, right this moment,” she said, giving her a final flash of her eyes before getting up and walking away. She was not in the mood to kill today, especially not after the amazing brunch she’d had not too long ago.
But of course, Aurora was too dumb to get that, Y/n noted as she heard feet jogging to catch up to her pace.
“Just talk to me this once, and I swear I’ll never show you my face ever again,” Aurora rushed to speak, desperate to get Y/n to stop.
They were still a little far from her home, Y/n realised. She could very conveniently kill her right now, and not get blood anywhere near her family home.
“What?” She asked instead, coming to a stop.
“I get why you married Klaus now,” Aurora spoke, a smile creeping up on her mouth. Y/n didn’t want to admit that there was a blush as well. It was probably sunburn, she told herself.
With a slight roll of her eyes, Y/n forced herself to focus. “What do you mean, Aurora?” She asked her, ready to snap her neck if she tried to beat around the bush once more.
“I mean, you two got together, had a baby so early on in your marriage. I now realise that it’s because he is so good in bed, you had to lock him down somehow, didn’t you?” She laughed, not noticing the gold swarming Y/n’s eyes as she smiled at the ground, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear.
“I would too. Guess I got a bit late, huh?” She continued with a joke, and then stopped.
Y/n didn’t even talk to her girlfriends like this. How dare this dumb little piece of work, dare to speak of her and Klaus in such a manner? So, she sped through her movements and sunk her fingers in Aurora’s throat, cleansing her insides.
“I rushed. Think I would’ve liked ripping out your dirty fucking tongue instead,” Y/n hissed, her mouth right next to Aurora’s ear and she was so close she could hear the loud thudding of her heart. It made her feel good, and she almost didn’t want to kill her becuase that noise was music to her ears right now.
Aurora couldn’t say anything, the only noise she could muster up was the sound of choking, because she was. And she was pretty sure her blood was rushing to places inside her where it shouldn’t be.
But then, something came over Y/n and she slipped her hand out of Aurora’s throat, leaving it intact as she wiped the blood on the very woman’s clothing. Sleep good. Maybe some rest will knock some sense into you. After all, all this stalking and annoying someone must be exhausting,” Y/n spoke with an understanding shake in her head.
And then, before Aurora could even realise much, Y/n had her hand placed near her throat and with that, she snapped her neck, quickly rushing to put her back in her house. She wasn’t cruel or angry enough to leave her asleep in the middle of nowhere.
But she was riled up enough that she needed to rush home and ask Klaus some questions before her mind could get the better of her.
She knew that this was the time Hope was usually asleep, and she was praying to the gods above that today wouldn’t be any different. And she opened the door to the house, quickly sensing that Hope was, indeed, asleep but she could hear that Klaus wasn’t.
The shower was running.
Removing her shoes, she walked to the kitchen and washed her hands in the sink. Then, tiredly, walked over and sat on the sofa in the living room, knowing that Hope was in the master bedroom and they couldn’t talk, potentially argue, there.
A lot was taken out of her today, and she needed Klaus to reassure her so that she wouldn’t have a breakdown somewhere in the house because it felt like she was going crazy. She knew that he hadn’t done it, knew that he couldn’t have done it.
But just for the sake of her brain, she needed him to say it. Needed the words to come out of his mouth so that she would know for sure. For she trusted him more than she trusted herself.
Because right now, her brain was telling her that she had heard Aurora’s love confession that day, but she hadn’t heard Klaus’ reply. Or that Klaus mostly shut the door when she left him with Aurora or how that one night he had come home late after she had left the two of them alone for Klaus to sort out the matters, and he’d told her not to worry about it – that it was nothing and he had taken care of it.
She knew that it truly was nothing. But once, just once, she wanted him to tell her that.
Waiting and waiting for the shower to turn off, Y/n slipped into a slumber. So when she felt someone close to her, she caught Kalus leaning in to pick her up, probably to carry her to their bedroom.
“Ah, you’re awake,” he smiled, his gaze so soft and his dimples evident as he instead pressed a kiss to her forehead and stood up straight. “The girls tired you out, hm?” He asked her, raising her head and placing it on his lap once he had sat himself.
Y/n only mumbled something, before turning to hide her face in his hip area. She couldn’t bring herself to talk to him about this when he was caressing her hair so gingerly, but she knew she had to.
“I wanted to talk to you about something,” she said then, looked up at him.
“What is it, love?”
God, this was going to be hard. She sat up and fixed her bed head with her fingers before she looked at him again, this time with a wavering sigh.
“Did you sleep with Aurora?”
Klaus’ eyes hardened then – the exact response Y/n hadn’t been longing to receive.
