He’s never cruel about it but he’s clearly relishing it a little, having power. And why wouldn’t he? When in his life has he had it before?

Twice in that episode Jayce asks who he is. The first time Viktor only says, “I’m assistant to the dean of the academy.” He is his role in that scene; that’s all he allows himself to be with Jayce.

It’s only the second time we get, “It’s Viktor.” He puts his power away with Jayce. Not for the last time.
