Furihata kept his eyes focused on the back of Akashi’s head, his face burning hotter with every step he took. He tried to calm his heart rate, but the pounding only seemed to increase the closer they got to the bathroom door.

He silently cursed himself for being so embarrassed. This had been his idea, after all.

The two of them had just gotten back from playing basketball, and had returned to Akashi’s house, sweaty and exhausted. It was late afternoon, with the sun already beginning to set. Furihata had immediately gone to his suitcase, rummaging for a fresh change of clothes for after his shower. Akashi was digging through his closet, doing the same.

“You may go first, if you’d like,” Akashi had said, emerging from the closet.

“That’s okay,” Furihata told him, watching Akashi wipe sweat from his forehead with the collar of his shirt. “You should go first. I don’t mind waiting, really.”

Akashi smiled warmly at him. “I’m afraid I must insist. You are my guest, after all.” Amusement flashed in his eyes.

Furihata laughed. He had been Akashi’s “guest” dozens of times now, and that excuse no longer worked. “Seriously, you worked way harder than me,” Furihata said, waving his hand dismissively. “You should go.”

“Kouki,” Akashi protested, crossing the room and setting his clothes down. “We both know you exerted yourself just as much as I did.”

They bickered back and forth a few more times, debating the pros and cons of of who should go first, or whether or not it would be worth it for Akashi to take his clothes to one of the guest bathrooms so they could shower at the same time.   

“You know,” Furihata said, shifting the clothes in his arms. “We could save ourselves a lot of trouble if we just showered together.”

The words left his mouth easily, his brain not fully processing the statement until it left his lips. He stood frozen, his gaze darting to Akashi to see him doing the same, his mouth hanging open.

Blood rushed to color his face, and he shifted nervously on his feet. “I m-mean, uh…”

He wasn’t sure what to say. It wasn’t that he wanted to take it back, exactly. The thought had definitely crossed his mind before, but he was never bold enough to suggest it. Leave it to him to suddenly find the courage in a random argument.

“Would you…” Akashi began hesitantly, breaking the silence. “Would you really like too?”

Furihata rubbed the hem of his clean shirt between fingers. “I, uh… I mean–” he cut off, swallowing nervously. He voice dropped to almost a whisper. “I’m okay with it. If, uh, if y-you are.”

Akashi laughed softly, and Furihata peaked up from under his hair. “I assure you Kouki, I am more than okay with that arrangement.” He tilted his head a little. “As long as you are.”

Furihata nodded, butterflies assaulting his stomach. Akashi gathered his clothes, and walked up to Furihata, kissing him gently on the forehead. “Are you ready?”

His heart pounded with both nerves and excitement as he leaned forward and pressed his lips to Akashi’s jaw. “Yeah. Let’s go.”

And now he was here, following Akashi into his master bathroom.

He wasn’t even sure why he was so nervous. They’d been naked together before, doing… other things. This really shouldn’t be any different. But it somehow felt more intimate, standing in front of Akashi’s shower, with Akashi standing next to him.

They both set their clothes down, and Akashi moved to pull the shower door open. Furihata watched him start the water, holding his hand under the stream to test the temperature.  

“Would you mind grabbing the towels?” Akashi asked, turning away from the water.

Furihata nodded. “Yeah, s-sure.”

He turned towards the cabinet, and pulled two fluffy white towels out. He folded them in his arms and turned back around, startling slightly that Akashi was right in front of him.

“Are you sure you’re alright with this?” Akashi asked, gently rubbing Furihata’s arm. “You seem uncomfortable.”

Furihata laughed nervously. “I g-guess I’m a little nervous.” He looked up to meet Akashi’s gaze. “Pretty stupid, huh?”

“I don’t think it’s stupid at all,” Akashi said softly.

“I knew you’d say that,” Furihata muttered under his breath, and he heard Akashi chuckle. He leaned into Akashi’s touch, and looked up to meet his gaze. “I’m definitely okay w-with it, though.”

Akashi kissed his forehead again, and took the towels from Furihata’s arms. He moved a few feet away, and set them on the counter.

And then he turned back, and pulled his shirt over his head in one fluid movement.

Furihata looked away, warmth spreading across his face. It was ridiculous, he told himself. He’d seen Akashi shirtless multiple times before. Why should this be any different?

He released a shaky breath, silently laughing at himself. Stepping closer, Furihata pulled his own shirt off and let it drop to the floor next to Akashi’s.

When he looked up, Akashi was watching him. Before he could blink, Akashi’s eyes lifted from his bare torso to meet his gaze. Furihata smiled nervously, and Akashi returned it, his eyes full of gentle fondness.

They both finished undressing, the sound of water hitting the tiles the only noise in the room. Akashi gestured toward the shower, and Furihata followed right behind him.

Akashi held his hand under the water again before stepping into the stream. He turned to face Furihata, tilting his head back and closing his eyes as the water soaked his hair, turning it a darker shade of red.

Furihata stood still, completely memorized as he watched the water run down Akashi’s face, and down his neck, and over his collarbones, and down his chest…

He snapped back to reality when Akashi’s eyes opened, blinking water from his eyes. He wiped at his face before offering a hand to Furihata, inviting him in to join.

Furihata’s face burned, realizing that he had basically been busted watching Akashi shower. He ducked his head a little, but accepted Akashi’s hand, and stepped into the shower, pulling the door shut behind him.

Akashi looped his arms around Furihata’s neck, pulling him even closer, until the water doused his head as well. His eyes slid shut, and he blindly put a hand on Akashi’s chest to steady himself.

The warm water felt amazing, after spending half the day out in the sun. Furihata let his head fall back into Akash’s hands as the water ran over his face.

Fingers brushed his wet hair back from his forehead, and it was that gesture that made Furihata turn out of the spray to open his eyes.

Akashi was standing right in front of him, wet and perfect. Furihata’s heart skipped a beat, suddenly hyper aware of the situation he was in.

“Everything okay?” Akashi asked, his voice echoing strangely in the enclosed space.

Furihata blushed, and he hoped Akashi would blame it on the heat from the shower. “I’m fine,” he said, chuckling a little. He glanced down and stared at the space between their feet. “I’m a little m-more than fine, I think.”

One of Akashi’s fingers caught under his chin and tilted his head back up, forcing Furihata to meet his gaze.

“I’m glad to hear it,” Akashi said, still wearing that infuriatingly soft smile despite the situation they were in.

They both stood in silence for a moment, enjoying the hot water. Akashi leaned to the side, and came back holding a bottle of shampoo in his hands. He popped the cap, and looked at Furihata with an almost eager expression.

“May I?” Akashi asked.

Furihata blinked in confusion. “May you…?”

Akashi laughed lightly. “I’d like to wash your hair, if that’s something you’d be comfortable with.”

“Oh,” Furihata said, turning bright red once again. “Y-Yeah, I’m okay with that.”

Akashi grinned, and lightly nudged Furihata to turn around. He tipped his head back, and a few seconds later he felt gentle fingers working through his hair.

Furihata hummed, his nerves vanishing almost immediately. His shoulder relaxed, and he leaned back into Akashi’s touch. He would have suggested this months ago, if he knew that this would come out of it.

The feeling of Akashi’s fingers massaging his scalp was more pleasant than he would have expected. He tipped his head sideways as Akashi scrubbed behind his ears, his eyes shut.

“Are you alright?” Akashi asked, amusement clear in his voice. Furihata mumbled something along the lines of an answer, nodding his head.

Akashi chuckled, his blunt nails scraping lightly along the back of Furihata’s head. Somewhere in the back of his mind, Furihata was aware that his hair must be clean by now, but Akashi showed no intention of being done any time soon.

Furihata’s thoughts drifted as his body grew more relaxed. He yawned, wobbling a little on his feet, and his head jerked up, the sound of the water spray suddenly deafening. He shook his head a little in an attempt to clear it.

“Sei,” he said, his voice a little groggy. “You gotta stop or I’m gonna fall asleep.”

Akashi laughed. “I apologize. I suppose I got carried away.”

His fingers vanished, and Furihata had to stop himself from pouting. He would definitely have to suggest doing this again…

“Here,” Akashi told him, touching his arm. “Turn this way.”

Furihata obeyed, moving so his back faced the spray. Akashi stood in front of him, brushing his hand along Furihata’s forehead to block the foam from getting in his eyes.

It didn’t take long before all the shampoo had washed away, and Furihata turned away from the stream. Akashi reached for the bottle again and opened it, about to pour some into his hands, when Furihata stopped him. Akashi looked at him curiously, one brow raised.

“Um,” Furihata began, suddenly nervous again. “Can I?” He held his hand out for the bottle.

Akashi blinked, and then smiled. “Of course,” he said warmly, and passed the shampoo over.

He turned around, and Furihata stepped up behind him. He squeezed some of the liquid into his palm and set the bottle down.

Akashi already had his head tipped back, clearly relaxed. Furihata rubbed his hands together, and then started working his fingers through Akashi’s hair, taking care to avoid getting any his eyes.

He made his way back, taking his time to get behind Akashi’s ears. He raked his nails lightly along the back of his neck, and he watched as Akashi’s head tilted forward, his whole body going slack.

There was something enjoyable about it, Furihata found himself thinking. He understood why Akashi had taken so long to wash his hair. He almost liked this as much as he liked the feel of Akashi’s fingers in his own hair.

He took his time, making sure he got every spot thoroughly. It wasn’t long before Akashi began to sway lightly, so Furihata took that as his time to stop. The last thing he wanted was for Akashi to slip.

Akashi turned, and Furihata laughed at his dazed expression.

“I see what you mean,” he said, shaking his head a little. “That is quite dangerous indeed.”

Furihata nodded in agreement. “It probably doesn’t help that we had a long day,” he said, turning Akashi so he could rinse his hair. “I’m pretty sure I could have fallen asleep on the sidewalk on the way back here.”

“That’s true,” Akashi hummed. Furihata ran his fingers through his hair until there weren’t anymore suds. “I’m not sure if I can entirely blame exhaustion, though.”

Furihata knew what he meant. He always had a habit of melting under the other’s touch, and this was no different.

It still felt kind of strange though, to know that Akashi felt the same way about him.

They each grabbed a washcloth and some soap, and set about washing the rest of themselves. Furihata wondered for a moment if Akashi was going to offer to do this for him too, and then blushed bright red at the thought.

Instead, Akashi seemed to be a hurry, and Furihata understood why. After everything that had happened, Furihata wanted nothing more than to be in clean clothes, curled up in bed against Akashi.

It seemed their thoughts were in sync once again.

They took turns rinsing the soap off, and Akashi shut off the water. Furihata opened the door and grabbed the towels, passing one over to Akashi. He tried not to watch as Akashi dried himself off.

Furihata reached for his boxers as soon as he felt dry enough, and slipped them on. He was just getting ready to pull his shirt on when he felt a pair of arms wrap around him, and a bare torso press against the skin of his back.

He gasped a little, but leaned back into Akashi’s touch. Akashi squeezed him tighter, resting his chin on Furihata’s shoulder.

“I’m very happy you suggested this,” Akashi said, his breath tickling Furihata’s neck.

Furihata swallowed, his pulse accelerating. “Me too.”

“Perhaps we can do that again,” Akashi continued. His lips pressed into the space just below Furihata’s jaw. “When we’re both not dead on our feet.”

A million thoughts raced through Furihata’s mind. Some of them made him blush, and others made him want to get back in the shower right this minute.

“I’d like that.” Furihata said, twisting in Akashi’s arms. “I’d like that a lot.”

I feel so glad that I watched KuroBas back when it was airing. Of all the things in my life I've missed out on, watching KuroBas at the best timing in 2014 makes up for it. It's been six (seven?) years since then, but KnB was my favourite fandom experience of all time. I remember basketballpoetsociety, I remember incorrectknb, I remember the daily oha asa blog, plus all the incredible meta that fans wrote about the show (I'm so sad that the one about Izuki's puns got deleted). There were fun fan events happening all the time, with hilarious memes and gorgeous art. The amount of KnB AMVs and MADs were numerous, I could watch them all day and there were still more. The fanfictions were great (shoutout to Drop Rule, and Beyond Good and Evil—those were my favourites). The shipping was fun and respectful, and I loved those ask-blogs and imagine-blogs where you could send in prompts. Seeing everyone's reaction when the character songs came out was so much fun.

Of course, if anyone is watching KnB now, I still fully recommend it 100%. It's just sad that you wouldn't get the amazing fandom experience of back then. I wish more of it could have been archived. Revisiting my bookmarks shows a lot of broken links and deleted blogs. Also, I wish I was less shy back then and actually posted and made friends who were also into KuroBas 😅

multifandom fic in review

as usual, nothing prompted this. i was reminiscing about the various fandoms that i’d traversed over my last decade+ of fanfic. if had to pick one story written by me that was my favorite for each fandom, what would it be?

the first set of fandoms are ones i dabbled in when i was basically prepubescent so it’s hard to pick a favorite when they’re all equally cringe (but.. in a cute way....). not linking back to anything on my old ffn because it’s embarrassing but they’re easily accessible if u squint (please don’t squint)

Artemis Fowl - no favorite

Guardians of Ga’hoole - probably the story i started writing about Pelli being a nazi cuz she was on good terms with Kludd before she tried to escape his cult with a bunch of nestmaid snakes. wow look at me being a real edgelord here

Kill Me Kiss Me - no favorite but i did a double-take when i went back to check i’d actually written something for this manhwa

next set of fandoms are from when i started to get into anime, namely tennis & ninja foolery. i was based on FFN at first because of my ties to a group of forum friends, but then it bled into LJ as the circle started to migrate. those friends were probably the reason i was faithful to tenipuri for so long. having multiple 知音s in a fandom really does start to make it feel like your home base.

ATLA - crane station for jetko fic exchange

APH - ok for real this fandom dragged. i only stayed in it so i could keep talking to some of my favorite people. i guess if i had to pick a story i liked at all it would probably be softly treading softly

Bakuman - Your Chance to Rewrite the Bible

Code Geass - no favorite

FMA - Pacific Ocean, Telephone Line. i treasure this story. reading it feels like opening a time capsule of hopes i held onto near the end of high school

KHR! - SUNSHINE for me today. kyouko/haru rapture!

Prince of Tennis - tv cables. written as part of a private gift exchange between forementioned forum friends. marui gets hit by a car but it’s not an angsty story by any means. for a while my brand was injecting humor into concepts that were typically tragedy-driven and i kind of lived for it lmao... like i really thought i was doing something

PJO - definitely ハミングバード ~HUMMING BIRD~. nc-17 luke/nico magical realism 16k binge. first time writing id fic, i was hooked!

Naruto - The Pop Is Dead; Long Live The Superflat. deidara/oc, which makes this a self-insert. he was my favorite baddie and i’ll never understand why... whole lotta edgy references in this story but it’s probably the first time i felt like i got even remotely better at writing so it has a special place in my mind

the rpf fandoms i wrote for were scattered between LJ/tumblr eras but i’m going to list them all here. like most ppl that write rpf i ran in and out of it. 

e-sports - probably subperfect. everything on that blog is gratuitous & no you’re not welcome. i stopped writing e-sports rpf after i met najin sword irl. it got weird after that obviously

Genius Game - my Modulo on your Modulo. jdm/ohm for yuletide

JE - lot to pick from but probably Kind of happy, kind of not, written for je_holiday. my first foray into the pseudo sci-fi genre. i also accurately predicted the demise of politics americana but just so we’re clear the orange-kun mentioned in the story was a geass reference

kpop - no favorite

NBA - lapslock towel science for wall/cousins. yes i was actually drunk when i wrote this

i want to call this era of fandoms my ““second”” anime wave, wherein a lot of life imitates art bullshit came about via tunglr. it started with knb and led into time spent moonlighting as a typesetter and writing stuff across several pseudonyms. i made and discarded a lot of fandom friends/interests at this time and if you met me during it, i’m very sorry for the trouble i caused

Ao no Exorcist - Songe à la douceur. let’s be honest this fic transcended levels of self-insertion it was practically an autobiography

Daiya no Ace - finite fixation. but if i were picking by titles, “tanba-san is a secret” cuz i’m BL trash thru & thru

Kuroko no Basket - i can’t pick just one, but i can tell you that it’s definitely nothing i wrote as gamblers. either aomido tennis AU “drive if destination not set” or nijimura/aomine “both of you, dribble like you want to win”

웃 - An existing character you’ve played in the past that you miss?

 I do miss a lot of my muses, but mainly Akagi Shouhei (K Project); Gon Freecss (HXH); Klaus von Reinherz (Kekkai Sensen); and Hanamiya Makoto (KNB) in terms of anime rp-dom. They are characters close to my heart to this day (and yes, they are also my favorites in each series, too!).

♀ - A trope you catch yourself falling back too often?

Mutual pining is my jam, yoooo. Rivals to lovers is pretty good, too. Nothing beats all kinds of soulmate prompts, too. [Insert Pacha meme]

✔ - What drew you to the character you currently play? What types of characters are you generally drawn to?

I think I’ve always had a penchant for supporting/side characters. And when I saw Akaashi’s dynamic with Fukuroudani and Bokuto, I was immediately intrigued. After that, I read a meta post about Akaashi’s personality, and before I knew it, I was already making this blog (and that was 4 years ago wow). 

And more often than not, I’m more drawn to side characters. Like it can range from kind and nice genkis, to assholes, to a lovable weirdo like Akaashi sdjhskd. I love exploring and fleshing these kinds of characters out through plots and headcanons!

☯ - Greatest challenge to writing your character?

Hmm, I’ve been writing Akaashi from 2016-2017, then started writing him back last March, so I think that much time passed has helped me get back into writing shape. 

When I compare my old writing to the present, I think I’ve definitely improved upon Akaashi’s personality. In the past, he’s kinda a bit more aloof and blunt. But now, he just feels… balanced and nuanced. It did help that I read a lot of his chapters more (326-337 and timeskip… cries a lot again)

It was really awkward when I first got back, since ofc, there were new people instead of the blogs I knew before. But now, I enjoy my time here very much as much as I do in my previous blogs. ^^

▼ - Are there popular head canons for your character that you disagree with? Why?

I’ve said a couple of times in this blog already, but I do not agree that he’s “pretty” in the world of the series. I mean, we have Oikawa who has fans flocking him. Like, the official anime art is making me conflicted about it, because they really do make him pretty _(:3JL_)_. 

There’s also that side of the fandom that puts him on such a pedestal, wherein they turn him into this suave and smooth mothertrucker saying “babe” and “baby” and I’m-- ((sirens blaring from ambulance coming to save my life)) He’s! An! Awkward! Owl! Okay! 

And even in the timeskip, he’s still kinda awkward and oblivious to people’s thoughts of him ahahaha. Basically, “if you don’t love me at my--” “then you don’t deserve at my--” meme :)

"Listen up, team, this is war," Aida Riko says, clearly starting their staff meeting with theatrics this morning. "We're moving the coffee machine into the side kitchen."

"What? But it makes sense to have it in the break room," Kagami says, and Hyuuga winces. Sure, Kagami's new, but he should know better.

"Marketing keeps drinking our coffee," Riko growls. "Thus, we're moving the coffee to where Marketing can't get at it."

"Why can't we share coffee? We're all on the same floor," Furihata asks, and Hyuuga resists the urge to sigh. Furihata is also new, but probably doesn't know better. He'll learn...

"Because Marketing isn't paying for the coffee," Riko growls. "We are. Marketing may share our floor, but they are not part of our office. But they drink our coffee and they use our office supplies and they are taking up precious space we could use for our employees. And they totally steal our lunches. They are the enemy!"

"To be fair, Kuroko steals Kise's lunch, like, three times a week," Kagami says.

"Only as an educational behavior modification tactic," Kuroko says in his monotone voice. He sips casually from his coffee mug and adds, "Kise-kun can keep his lunch when he learns how to keep a deadline." Proving, at least, that Kuroko understands the reality of the inter-office dynamics.

"Moreover," Riko says emphatically, pausing to build anticipation. "When they use up all our supplies, it overextends our budget, and then Accounting will breathe down our necks. Do you want us to get in trouble with Accounting?"

"No, ma'am," Furihata says, shrinking in his seat. He has, at least, been around long enough to learn that Midorima's division is Very Serious About Budgets and also terrifying.

"And if it's not Accounting, then it's Human Resources. And we definitely don't want Human Resources involved." 

Everyone nods, and quietly shudders, remembering the last time Aomine and Momoi from HR got involved with a budget thing. That had been the only time their office and Marketing were allied, and involved a four-way battle with Accounting and HR that lasted for days. Hyuuga still hasn't recovered. 

"This is every division for themselves here. Eat or be eaten. Kill or be killed. Everyone is an enemy unless Legal is involved."

"What... what happens when Legal is involved?" Furihata asks.

"Then Legal is the enemy and we're all dead," Riko says. Kagami's expressions darkens, probably vividly remembering his last encounter with Legal. He claims Akashi attacked him with a pair of scissors, and Hyuuga, for one, believes it.

"We all work for the same place, though," Furihata says. Poor kid clearly has a lot to learn about office politics. "I mean, isn't there ever a time when someone else is the enemy?"

"The Americans," Hyuuga, Riko, and all the other senior employees say at the same time. 

A/N: Hahaha, sorry for the delay, anon-friend. I assumed, somewhat, that you meant an AU based on The Office, which I have never watched and only have memes for a reference. So I wasn't sure how to write this prompt, and then ultimately decided just to write a generic sort of office au. - i once said college isn’t as tough as they make it seem in high school, got a bunch of engineering/biology/STEM majors in the notes, whining about how easy social sciences and liberal arts are and how it’s pussies like me that are ruining the economy. 

- i said i thought a thirty year old man fucking a fifteen year old boy was gross. which is just totally unacceptable, right? not the fucking, that is, but my criticism of the fucking. 

- i also said fangirls shouldn’t fetishize fourteen/fifteen year old boys just because they’re boys, and had girls telling me that it’s ok when men do it to girls, so why can’t they “reclaim” their sexualities or something...these are fucking 30 year old women fantasizing about old men raping children in churches. but im the one who’s being gross, hmmm. 

-i once said i didn’t think people with mental illnesses should decide what mental illness they had based off a personality test they took on quizilla or what medications they should take at night based off of a list of symptoms they read off webmd. instantly got people saying im ableist and neurotypical because self-diagnosis is good....even though TRAINED PSYCHOLOGISTS FUCK THIS SHIT UP AND THEY STUDY THIS SHIT EXCLUSIVELY so why would a bunch of angsty hormonal teenagers be the experts on what pills they should be taking.

-also my url used to be mental insanime. got called ableist for referring to the word “insanity.” 

- said yuri on ice was a bad anime with a weak plot, sexualized “gay” characters, and had shitty animation, got called homophobic and transphobic. 

-ALSO related to yuri on ice, saw a post where it was suggested that yuri could be asexual...prompting thousands of fangirls to call the asexual girl who’d originally posted it a bitch for trying to “take their gay character away from them.”

because straight women own gay characters. not gay people, straight girls, that’s who gay character are for, right 

anyway, i said shame on all of  you assholes, and got called homophobic again for my troubles. 

-once joked about how bad the english in Knb was, got called racist against asians (I am Asian)

-got called a nazi for liking snk (I’m asian) 

- got called homophobic AND racist for not supporting the victuuri ship from yoi, a show i hate, whose characters i hate... because Victor is white, Yuri is Asian, and I’m Asian, so not supporting an interracial relationships makes me both homophobic, racist, and also transphobic because why not. 

- I said that officialhajimeisayama wasn’t the real hajimeisayama and got called a racist because my evidence was that the blog was in english...presumably it’s racist to imply japanese people can’t learn english...despite the fact that i said it was because the blog was written in very casual, american english that referred to memes and was written stylistically in a very meme-friendly teenage girl way.

- i then got blocked by officialhajimeisayama because i said in my tags that i couldnt believe people were dumb enough to believe she was really isayama (cuz a grown man would want to be called isamama? really?). 

she then said “how dare you hurt my followers like that” and then blocked me...and then deleted the post when she realized we are roughly the same in terms of follower count....whoops. 

always remember to pick fights with people who’re weaker than you, children. 

- a blogger named korracrat followed me some time ago and i followed her back, but then didn’t want to see her content anymore. i unfollowed her, and she IMMEDIATELY noticed and started badgering me about why i had unfollowed her. i was forced to lie and say it was an accident.

i did it again much later, only for the same thing to happen. 

then when i finally decided to cut the knot, i wrote a post about how i just wanted to be done with this person. 

she then sent herself anon hate, and swore that it was from me because she has some kind of tracker. 

yeah. 

someone literally sent herself anon hate, then claimed it was from me to make herself look like a poor innocent victim....

and i mean, im an asshole, but i don’t send anon hate. i like to fucking square up. 

- called donald trump a liar, got trump supporters reaaaaal mad. came to my blog to call me a libtard, a faggot, and someone who hates america

-talked about how i liked bernie sanders and got called a communist and a libtard 

-oh, i said that the ghostbusters remake wasn’t so bad and that people should give it a chance, got called a libtard, an idiot, and someone made reddit posts about me or something. 

-said that it’s sad that erwin (from snk) died, but can we talk about how (insert rant about armin). got angry erwin fans saying i was trying to detract from his death. 

- also was confused as to why junkrat has a summer skin in the winter, completely forgetting how hot it is in Australia during the winter...got accused of being...hemispherist? because someone who wrote a half-assed joke about junkrat’s summer skin forgot that it’s warm in australia all the time, im north america centric, ok. 

- said that trump is a liar again. got someone telling me everyone’s equal, im retarded for not taking advantage of my opportunities, and that he felt sad for me because im a dumb retard who doesn’t understand politics. k. 

- got told to kill myself for quite a few of the above. then argued over why you shouldn’t tell people to kill themselves.

and then got told that this is....policing. 

- said that the argument that “incest/rape/abuse is fine because it’s fictional!” is dumb because in the same breath, ya’lll will say representation matters.... when clearly fiction cannot matter for both arguments to be true. got called a bitch. 

- said tokyo ghoul was sexist, transphobic garbage, got TG fans upset because the idea that their manga is anything less than the sequel to the Christian Bible is akin to literary heresy. 

- said anime is sexist garbage, got people upset because im supposed to be an anime blog and talk about how hot husbandos are or whatever. 

- recently said that you shouldn’t ship tracer (lesbian character) with men, got told i was a retard who was trying to police people’s creativity or something...ironically, they’ve run amok on that post, but i have no interest in stopping them cuz guess what?

i don’t care anymore, why would i care about policing you? 

what purpose would that have?

you’re going to do it anyway, and i don’t have the time or heart to spare for you. 

policing doesn’t equal me saying, “lol you’re garbage.”

I found the original questions on AFF a while back, and I thought since I’ve been tagged in so many meme things lately, I’d also tag a bunch more people in this one XD Since the questions were designed for AFF, I’ve reworked some of them to fit for AO3 writers. I also removed two questions rather than trying to translate them to AO3 terms. So, I’ll fill out my answers first, and then put the blank questions again at the bottom for you to easily copy and paste!

1. How did you come up with your username and what does it mean?

I came up with "Shootmesenpai” for my Tumblr originally a long time ago. It was pretty much a play on the whole “Notice me senpai” thing. Pretty basic and not very witty but it just ended up sticking so I even used it for AO3.

2. Which fanfic of yours has the most feedback? (bookmarks/subscriptions/hits/kudos)

Happy Birthday Aomine 

3. What is your AO3 profile icon, and why did you choose it?

My icon is Aomine Daiki. I choose it because he is my favorite boy and almost all the fanfics I have written are from his perspective. 

4. Do you have any regular/favourite commenters?

I’m not a very popular writer and my stuff is pretty low key so the commenters are fairly random. I have some friends that comment so I suppose they count....kinda. 

5. Is there a fanfic that you keep going back to read again and again?

Blackbird or the Ladder series by @emungere is amazing and I have reread them a number of times. I also have a huge soft spot for Across the Way by @gintamajustaway and that is not even finished yet. 

6. How many stories are you subscribed to? How many do you have bookmarked?

I am only subscribed to two stories at the moment since a couple just finished recently, but I have 29 bookmarks for things that need to be read. I’m kinda bad about actually doing this instead, I just leave 100 tabs open on my phone. 

7. Which AU do you find yourself writing the most?

I haven’t actually written any AU’s yet but I like reading student/teacher ones, yakuza AU’s or college AU’s. I would like to write a college AU one day as it’s not too far from reality so I think I may be able to handle it. 

8. How many people are subscribed and bookmarked to you in total? (you can view this on the stats page)

Oh, an embarrassingly small amount....I think I only have 29 subscriptions and 44 bookmarks...definitely, nothing to write home about. 

9. Is there something you’d like to write about but are afraid of people judging you for it? (Feeling brave? If so, share it!)

Honestly, I don’t really have much. I would like to write something really aggressive and complex but I don’t do well with long stories. A yakuza story with some rough subject matter (similar to Harada) would be amazing but....that's a bit much for most of the ships I enjoy. 

10. Is there anything you would like to be better at? Writing certain scenes or genres, replying to comments, updating better, etc.

I would like to finish my one long story and possibly rework a lot of it. It was the first one I wrote and looking back I can see a lot of flaws. I need to honestly just start writing more and learn the fundamentals of good storytelling. Even though I enjoy writing smutty one-shots the most, I still have ideas for long stories that I’m not confident enough to begin. 

11. Do you write rarepairs or popular ships more often?

I mainly write for AoKuro or AoKuroKaga which I guess is a bit rare for the KNB fan base. I also love ultra rare pairings like NijiHai. 

12. How many stories have you posted on AO3 to this day (finished and unfinished)?

5 total works with one unfinished. 

13. How many stories do you have saved in/with your writing program?

I have the next chapter started with Realization and Loss but it’s only a paragraph....that’s it at the moment. 

14. Do you write down story ideas, or just keep them in your head?

A little bit of both, my friend and I talk story ideas every once in a while so some of those are permanently locked in my head. There are some I came up with on my own that I have written down in a sketchbook somewhere. 

15. Have you ever co-authored a story?

Nope, I come up with ideas with a friend sometimes so it kinda feels like it has been co-authored at times. 

16. How did you discover AO3?

Just following the links of the fanfic rabbit hole. 

17. Do you consider yourself to be a popular or famous author in your fandom(s) on AO3?

Oh god no, I am extremely casual in my writings. I freak out for having like 5 kudos on a fic. I bow down to the famous authors. 

18. Do you have a nickname or fandom name for your readers?

Not that I’m aware of, again I am bottom of that totem pole. 

19. Was there an author who inspired or encouraged you to write?

I mean @humanitys-shortest-soldier kinda encouraged me after I continued to bug her about showing off her amazing writing skills. Other than that though @gintamajustaway was a huge inspiration, they are so amazing that I really have no words. 

20. What writing advice would you give to a beginning author?

I don’t think I’m qualified to give advice but I guess I would just say, don’t be afraid to put your ideas out there. Even if you think it’s weird, or you think your writing skills aren’t up to par, just do it! There are people out there who will encourage you and make your whole day with their kind words. I promise you. 

21. Do you plot out your stories, or do you just figure it out as you go?

I do basic plots, mainly just large points that I want to hit. Everything else just slowly forms around those foundation pieces. 

22. Have you ever gotten a bad comment on a story? If so, what did you do?

No, I haven’t gotten any bad comments yet but I am always open to them. I handle criticism well and I think bad comments can help a person grow to become a better writer. 

23. Is there a certain type of scene that you have a hard time writing? (action, smut, etc..)

Ummm.....probably really serious stuff. I love writing smut and I read a lot of garbage so it helps but the serious stuff requires a build up on top of a solid foundation. Those are definitely weak points for me. 

24. What story(s) are you working on now?

I have Realization and Loss....which I will probably finish...one day. Other than that though I don’t have anything in the works, although I was prompted today to write more Brotp for AoAka. 

25. Do you plan your next project(s) before you finish your current ongoing story(s)?

Yeaaaa, I really shouldn’t but sometimes the idea is too fun to wait. 

26. Do you have a daily writing goal set for yourself?

Nope, I just write when I have the time or a burning idea. It has been a while since I have done anything though. 

27. Do you think you’ve improved as a writer since you first started?

I think I have improved a bit, there is still a lot that I need to work on. I would love to eventually get back into it and improve my fundamentals and basics storytelling abilities. 

28. What is your favorite story that you’ve written?

Haizaki’s Day Off, it was just a lot of fun to write and I really enjoy writing for Haizaki since he is a huge asshole. 

29. What is your least favorite story that you’ve written?

I don’t really have a least favorite but if I had to say...it would be Realization and Loss. It was my first one and I still need to finish it, but looking back I see a lot of errors and crutches throughout the story. 

30. Where do you see yourself (as a writer) in 5 years?

Probably close to where I am now, I love writing but I don’t think I am cut out for anything serious within the field. I love drawing and a lot of my free time is spent trying to improve there, while also finding the courage to post it. 

31. What is the easiest thing about writing?

Coming up with the basic plot and all the fun bits that it involves. 

32. What is the hardest thing about writing?

Actually sitting down to write it.....also in-character dialogue!

33. Why do you write?

I write because sometimes an idea is too fun to keep to myself or between my friends. I write so that hopefully other people get some enjoyment out of the weird stuff I create.

Akashi felt an uncharacteristic amount of excitement drum through his veins as he stepped off the train.

It had been over a month since his last trip to Tokyo, which meant it had also been more than a month since the last time he saw Furihata. And while the two of them were well acquainted with going long periods without seeing each other, one month had been a torturously long wait.

He maneuvered expertly through the crowd, keen eyes scanning the other side of the gate, searching for the tell-tale sign of brown hair.

A large group of tourist at the opposite end moved away, and Akashi’s eyes immediately landed on the brunet leaning against the wall, head down as he scrolled through his phone. Akashi came to halt, staring while his heartbeat pounded in his ears.

In the month that they’d been apart, Akashi’s life had not been the easiest. On top of managing his schoolwork, student council president responsibilities, and leading the basketball team, his father had begun increasing the work for his personal studies. Despite being in his second year of high school, he was already finding college applications strewn across his desk, along with a list of recommendations to each.

All nighters had become a frequent, and it was only by sheer luck that he managed to leave Kyoto, if only for the day. It simply meant that he would have twice as much work to finish tomorrow.

It was well worth it, in Akashi’s mind. His time with Furihata was precious.

He hadn’t told Furihata any of it, not wanting to cause his boyfriend worry. Furihata typically worried about him enough as it was, with constant messages like “Go to bed already, jeez. It’s three in the morning.” and “Remember to take a break! Don’t work yourself too hard!”

Akashi always prided himself on his strength. He knew he was capable of getting the required work done, regardless of how little sleep he got, or many hours he spent hunched over his desk, eyes blurring in the bright light of a laptop screen.

But over the past few months, Akashi found himself heeding Furihata’s advice more often that he expected too. He started taking regular breaks, usually to talk to Furihata for a few moments, or to pace across his room. Even when Furihata didn’t text him to remind him, Akashi still took the time to stretch his legs, or to get a cup a tea.

And sometimes, when the pressure built up and he felt ready to snap under it, he would call Furihata, if only to hear his voice. It was odd, but not unwelcome, how easily a simple conversation could relieve the weight on his shoulders, if only for a moment.

But now, with Furihata so close, Akashi was acutely aware of all the built up stress from the past month. While Furihata’s voice was helpful in short bursts, nothing could compare to the real thing.

To have Furihata’s arms around him… To be able to hold him and touch him…

Akashi broke into a run, without really meaning to. He was vaguely aware of the fact that it was strangely childish, but he couldn’t quite care at the moment.

He darted across the train platform, eyes locked on Furihata’s figure. He was only a few yards away when Furihata glanced up, his wide eyes scanning the crowd.

Furihata looked directly at Akashi, and his curious expression turned into one of panic. He stumbled back a half step, shifting away from the wall, and held his arms out, halfway between an ‘I’ll catch you,’ gesture and one of ‘Stop!’.

“Wait–Don’t rUN AT ME I’LL FALL!” Furihata yelled frantically.

Akashi tried to skid to a halt, but he was already too close. He collided gracelessly with Furihata, his flailing arms grabbing at Akashi. The impact sent Furihata tilting backwards, and Akashi’s hands fumbled, trying to support him. A half second later and the two of them crashed to the ground, in a tangled heap of limbs, with Akashi on top of Furihata.

Akashi shifted, in an attempt to lessen his weight on Furihata. “I’m so sorry,” Akashi said sincerely. “Are you alright?”

Furihata sat up a little, rubbing at the back of his head. “Y-Yeah, I’m okay, I think.” He looked up at Akashi, worry creasing his brows. “Are you? I kinda took you down with me…”

Akashi briefly checked himself for damage, but he was more concerned with Furihata. “I’m fine,” he said.  He brushed his hand through Furihata’s hair, gently touching the back of his head. Relief washed over him when he didn’t feel a bump. “It was my fault we fell. I apologize, really. That was foolish of me.”

Furihata tilted his head to the side a little, leaning into Akashi’s touch. “It was a little odd. For you, anyway,” he said, smiling crookedly.

Warmth spread across Akashi’s face. He felt embarrassed, suddenly, for his actions. He averted his gaze, staring at the concert platform.

“Hey,” Furihata said softly. Akashi glanced up, and Furihata leaned in, quickly pressing his lips against the corner of Akashi’s mouth. “I’m glad to see you,” he murmured quietly. “I really missed you.”

Akashi’s heart pounded in his chest, and he felt that pressing weight lift off his back. Even the loud bustle of the crowd faded away. “I missed you as well,” he said warmly, tangling his fingers in Furihata’s. “More than you could ever imagine.”
