I live! And I'm back with another world for Desmond to end up in. *Drum roll.* What if he would up in the world of Parasite Eve (PS1 game)? It's a perfect fit for him; New York (Although it's 1997) and genetics (Eve could be an Isu creation or experiment). Maybe he gets involved because Eve wants the Isu DNA he possesses.

Oh man. I absolutely love Parasite Eve even though I would have considered to be too young to have watched my brother play it when it was released hahahaha

That opera scene? Fucking iconic.

There’s rumors that it’s getting a remake but we shall see with SquareEnix lol

Anyway, let’s get to the fic idea XD

For this one, of course, we’ll have Desmond get kick in Parasite Eve.

But…

He doesn’t know he’d been isekai’ed.

Until he realized that there is no Abstergo in this world. He still tried to think “well, maybe something changed” and tried to look for anything that could be considered Templar or Assassin-ish.

He comes up with nothing.

All in all, everything was just… normal.

Absolutely normal.

Desmond’s super paranoid because of this so he did what he first thought of.

He got a job as a bartender in the nearest bar to NYPD. The best way to get information was to get informants on the ground feeding him even the most questionable rumors but, while he’s still working on building his information network, drunk cops spouting whatever shit they want would work.

That’s how he meets Aya Brea.

A beauty who can handle her liquor (or, perhaps, it was more accurate she knows her limits). He sees her getting ‘pressured’ into accepting a date from this asshole who supposedly had some kind of connection with the police chief or something (he might be lying, who knows). Desmond just made some comments to the right person and, a week later, Aya told him that the jerk apologized and gave her two tickets to an opera for Dec 24. If Desmond isn’t doing anything, she’d like him to accompany her since she knows he had a hand in making that asshole ‘see the errors of his way’.

Desmond, strangely enough, does have a day off because his boss has told him repeatedly that Desmond needs to take a day off because the cops here like him and notice he’s always strangely here.

So Desmond agrees because Aya stressed that they were going as friends and he doesn’t mind either way.

And then the whole thing happened and… well…

Desmond knows he should leave but he also knows that Aya should leave too because, cops or not, this is some John Carpenter The Thing shit going on and they’re absolutely not equipped for that.

(Also, the fact that John Carpenter doesn’t exist in this world? An affront to humanity, that’s what it is)

But more importantly?

Even when he tries to leave after the police supposedly had everything under control, someone or something was hunting him down.

It became quite apparent that the places he goes to gets hit by this body horror nightmare and the cops put him under protective details with Aya as his main bodyguard because it seems like he’s the target.

Which really wasn’t something he wanted to hear.

It’s Kunihiko Maeda who suggested that it might have something to do with his genes and asks Desmond if he could run some tests.

Desmond rejects it immediately since he knows that his genes are important.

But that’s how he found a possible reason…

Maybe…

This Eve?

It wants him because of the high concentration of Isu genes he had.

He’s sorta right but not the way he thinks.

It is Desmond’s Isu genes that is serving as tantalizing to Eve because…

She still needs a sperm donor for the Ultimate Being.

Hi ! Sorry for replying just now , I woke up only recently -

I’m really happy you want to know more about my silly gal :D

I actually wanted to add more depth to Jade’s character for a while now , so this is awesome ^^👍

Here are some Jade facts , including some epic lore !

Jade is pansexual , and ever since she was a kid she never thought about the gender of her potential partner being something that mattered to her 💙💛🩷 For example she actually used to have a crush on the one friend she had in middle school , and even though she wasn’t interested in her romantically Jade still remained close to her for many years :) 

Jade was … definitely really different when she was younger compared to the present day : very shy , afraid to raise her voice even just a little too much and terrified about disappointing her parents , she clinged to her skills with technology in hopes of becoming good enough to get her mother’s and father’s approval one day … though Jade only talked about her past with Jaw Bone and no one else : it makes her pretty uncomfortable . 

She’d look kinda like this back in the day ☝️

Speaking of Jade’s parents , they used to be heavily involved with L.A.W back when she was a child , with her sister Lena even becoming an esteemed Agent of theirs … however , they pretty much only had eyes for her , leaving Jade behind without caring about any of her own achievements . Since she had the chance to witness up close just how messed up her family’s ideal were , Jade’s hatred for L.A.W begun very early and still lives on to this day . 

After running away from home ( around 17 years old ) Jade got involved with a group of anti-L.A.W space pirates , and they ended up becoming her real family : their Captain Klamp especially took a liking to her , becoming the father she never had while teaching her how to fight and defend herself , and that was also the point where she decided to get a few “upgrades” to improve herself , gaining her robotic legs and eyes . 

Jade has to be careful about not overcharging her legs , since they can stop working and leave her without a way to move or run away … that’s why whenever she’s in a fight she reflects carefully on her every action .

Jade’s shotgun doesn’t actually use bullets : instead she designed it to shoot pure electricity to paralyze her enemies , which can last for whole days … and give them some brain damage in the worst cases , which in her opinion is very much deserved ;C;

Jade often takes pictures of the L.A.W agents she defeats to then turn them into memes and send them to Jaw Bone … he finds them hilarious :,)

Jade’s favorite food is waffles , to the point that they are included in her breakfast almost every day ! Jaw Bone likes to surprise her by baking them some , doing his best to go easy with the heat ( he almost blew up the kitchen once because he wanted to “test” how much the microwave could take … ) 

When talking about videogames , Jade would be a big fan of strategy based ones , like Pokémon and Inscryption , playing some Minecraft and Stardew Valley  when she’s stressed .

The desk Jade uses in her room to work is neatly organized , and she won’t hesitate to annihilate anyone who messes with it ( JB is the only exception to the rule and even he knows not to push it too far ) 

Jade’s voiceclaim would be Lucy from Cyberpunk Edgerunners , another big inspiration for her being Sombra from Overwatch :D

Even though she works for Disco Head now , Captain Klamp does occasionally pass by to chat with Jade and see how she’s doing , and he always makes sure to remind Jaw Bone that if he makes his adoptive daughter upset he will “kick his sorry boney ass” , even though Jade begs him not to do tell him that … overprotective pirate dad is best dad :,)

Decided to indulge myself with another trainer sprite and trainer card for myself- once again using this site to help with team organization and overall for clean assets and clean asset sizing

Something different I wanted to do was try to make myself comfortable with easing up my usual shading style.

These two, for instance, are May and Tracey in my usual style (i forget if i uploaded these- these are from ny Ash AU basically). Personally, I think it can pop, but there's also a lot more work put into them and they come across as less authentic, not to mention I'd like to steer towards a simpler style that I can make pop with less shading.

For a standard splice edit, i think it's not too bad. The outfit is based on a combo of clothes I own I wish I felt confident wearing in public, lighter weight clothes I wear in the summer to cool off, and I even gave myself the headband I wear when I do outdoor work. Also, I wanted to indulge a little- I'm getting a bit more muscular and slightly leaner lately, and I wanted a sprite to kind of reflect this.

As for the card itself, it's a modified Academy Key I made previously for a bunch of OCs, and again, I kinda see this as a Keychain kinda deal. There's also sort of influence from a driver's license- grade indicating what type of trainer you are (and not grading percentage in school lol). Kinda like how real life licenses can show certification for normal cars are different vehicles.

I imagine you insert the pass key into a pc like a thumb drive to access your pc and your party that way, with your party being represented and changed digitally.

The team I chose is basically a mix and mash of Pokemon I've had on my mind lately and wanna use more often. It was actually kinda hard to narrow it down due to all the type clashes with my favs (for instance, having Hisuian Samurott, Scizor, Golisopod, Corviknight, Alolan Marowak, and Hisuian Typhlosion would have so much type overlap, and I'm way too picky about that).

They're all Pokemon I've owned and used and could see myself taking a vacation with em.

1. Doujikiri/Shiny Hisuian Samurott, the same shiny I shiny bred for in my Indigo Disk adventure. It was between this or my shiny Umbreon, but I ended up going with Hamurott because it's my favorite starter, and I can see myself walking with it like it's a big dog (which it does in SV) or swim with it.

2. Klamps/Scizor, my main ace in my last playthrough of Soul Silver. I've had a strange hyperfixation on it lately, and who could blame me? It's a cool design. I'd imagine this would probably be the "sakuga" Pokemon- or at least the designated close combat fight scene Pokemon.

3. Lightning/Jolteon, I own 3 but Lightning is the one I used in XD GoD in my first successful playthrough of it. Jolteon actually used to be my favorite eeveelution for a while, and I want a little spunky doggo to run around with

The next three were actually on my Teal Mask team

4. Yoginator/Blood Moon Ursaluna, who is easily one of my strongest mons. Idk, mine hates me lol, so maybe we'd bond.

5. Hollabax/Baxcalibur. I dunno, he's not particularly strong and tanks hits like a missile through tissue paper, but I kinda wanna vibe with it again. Could see us using its ice to keep cool

6. Shogun/Hisuian Typhlosion. Again, kinda missed mine. Johtonian Typhlosion was my first Pokemon, and I vibed with the Hisuian variant a bit. Could see it as a stand in for my old girl. It was between this and Alolan Marowak, and I just like Typhlosion a little more.

Ik ben opgegroeid in een huis met weinig liefde. Weinig liefde tussen mijn ouders, of alvast weinig zichtbare liefde. Weinig liefde naar mij toe, of alvast weinig zichtbare liefde. Een thuis waar weinig plaats was voor emoties, en huilen gezien werd als zwakte. Een mens moet sterk zijn, en doorgaan, en verdriet wordt alleen verwerkt, dat deel je niet.

Hoe ouder ik word, hoe meer ik terugkijk op mijn jeugd met verdriet. Ik merk op dat je thuis als een veilige plek moet aanvoelen, waar plaats is voor vragen, discussie en vooral verdriet. Emoties delen, brengt emotionele verbinding. En laat dat nu net iets zijn wat ik momenteel (nog steeds) het meest nodig heb.

Wanneer je als volwassene je hele leven voelt dat je nergens past, dat je anders bent dan de rest, en je je plaatsje in de wereld maar niet lijkt te vinden. Wel, het puzzelstuk die je zoekt is "emotionele verbinding".

Op vlak van relaties merk ik hierbij vooral problemen als bindings- en verlatingsangst. De hunkering naar liefde, waardering en acceptatie. De strijd naar erkenning, bevestiging en je plaatsje in deze wereld.

Aan "graag zien" heb ik niet genoeg, ik moet overspoeld worden met liefde om het diepe gat van gebrek aan liefde maar een beetje te kunnen vullen. Alsof er moet overcompenseerd worden voor dat jarenlange tekort. En zelfs als ik overspoeld word, dan nog zal het nooit genoeg zijn om te kunnen aanvaarden dat ik er mag zijn, en ook recht heb om graag gezien te worden.

En als ik dan die liefde krijg, voel ik de warmte vanbinnen waar ik al mijn hele leven lang naar hunker. Het is iets fragiel, uniek, misschien eenmalig, dus ik klamp mezelf er krampachtig aan vast. Ik mag dit niet kwijtspelen, ik moet heel hard mijn best doen om dit te kunnen behouden. Alles doen voor die persoon, om die liefde te kunnen blijven krijgen. Bevestig mij elke dag je liefde voor mij. Verlaat mij niet aub. Blijf bij mij.

Waarom trouwen voor mij zo belangrijk is? Er zijn veel levensmomenten die van grote waarde zijn: een IM afwerken, een nieuwe hoge functie, een lange reis,.. maar deze momenten vullen slechts tijdelijk een deeltje van je leegte. De commitment van een huwelijk, de liefde en onvoorwaardelijkheid die hierbij komt kijken, is het mooiste dat er is. "Hoe moeilijk het leven ook kan worden, ik kies voor jou, we gaan er samen voor, bij mij ben je veilig."

Ik sta twaalf treden midden in de horizon. Er wordt gefluisterd hier en gedronken of nee gezopen. Ik brokkel af en aan. Ik klamp me vast aan gedachtes. Ze vermorzelen me, maar net niet genoeg om te verdwijnen.

King K. Rool and his crazy croc army are setting sail, and charting a course for Super Mario Spikers! I thought it would be cool to do a breakdown on all the Kremlings in the roster (so far), including their king. Their designs and personality are a bit grungy compared to the typical Mario fare, so their representation here leans a bit more into the "hardcore" territory, having real dangerous and painful armor and weapons. These are crocodiles you don't wanna mess with!

The king himself is who we'll cover first, of course! Design-wise, he's heavily inspired by his look in Smash Ultimate, which has always been my favorite design of his as it blends everything good about his Rare and "modern" designs seamlessly. For his outfit, he's got body paint and a nice monarch-like collar around his neck. His belly already makes him quite armored, so he doesn't need much protection; he can take on everyone just how he is.

Krown Throw is based on, what else, his boomerang crown move from the first Donkey Kong Country. It's arguably his most iconic move, so why wouldn't it be here? Krazed Kroc, on the other hand, is mostly original, although his stomach glowing green was based on his Gut Check counter in Ultimate.

If there's one thing I'm not 100% on it's the posing. I think it fits him well, but he was made pretty early on in this project, and it looks a little stiff. Plus he's at a weird angle that no other character is, which makes it a little off when put next to them. Maybe if I ever go back and redo some of my older characters I can make him better. Aside from that though, I'm pretty happy with how he turned out.

Kritter takes what I said earlier about "hardcore" designs and amps it to 11. He's covered from head to toe in armor, and those claw extensions look fierce! There was actually an origin for this armor - concept art for Mario Strikers Charged of all things! I took inspiration mostly from the first design, but I made it a little more "exposed" - both to give this outfit more its own identity, and to fit the Kremlings' aesthetic a bit better. I also took the bigger claws on the feet and put it on the hands, which also looks like Bowser's armor in Charged.

Outside of that though, there's not a ton I sourced from Kritter's game appearances. Kremling Klobber is a fully original move where he piledrives opponents he's close to, it's not from anything, but it's definitely something Kritters would do in a competition like this. Their stats also give them "mobile powerhouse" vibes, which I think suits them well.

Next is Klaptrap, probably the second most recognizable Kremling outside of Kritter. The idea behind its design here is obvious - maximize it's biting power! Klaptraps already have strong jaws, so making them much bigger and much more sharp makes them way more dangerous. Killer Klamp makes them bite down on enemies and swing them like a dog - Klaptraps seem a lot more like feral animals than the other Kremlings that walk on two legs, so making them animalistic works out pretty well for them.

It's hard to tell with the metal jaws blocking it, but the design was based on Klaptrap's Assist Trophy in Ultimate, which in turn is pretty much just its Rare design in HD.

And... that's it. Not a lot to talk about Klaptrap. Just a really cool design with some cool abilities. Nice and simple.

Klinger stands out among these guys as having the funniest design. Mainly being that he's hitching a ride on those weird blue machines that move on rails from Super Mario World. This wasn't something I initially planned for, because Klingers in DKC2 always move on ropes, so I wanted to find a way to make a moving rope work. At first I thought they could be carried by some unseen flying Kremling and the rope just extends off-screen, but then I thought of these things from SMW and thought these would be a perfect fit.

Kind of goes against the whole "emphasize the Kremlings' badass-ery and hardcore-ness" thing I had going on with them but I don't really care, it's funny lol

That doesn't mean Klinger isn't threatening even with this silly rope though. For one, he still has that big sword of his. I'm pretty sure Klingers carry them in their mouths as they climb, but this time they're slashing enemies with it. Swinging Slasher, like most of the other moves thus far, is pretty much original, but imagine how cool it'd be if a Klinger swung from its ropes and tried to slice the apes in half?

And that's about all I have to say about these guys. Kremlings are one of the most unique characters among the extended Mario-verse, and I really wanted to do them justice. I definitely have ideas for more Kremlings, but that's for another day. Overall, I'm really happy with how they turned out.
