Top 10 Games Of The Year 2024

It's time to look back at this years games I played and go what are the best this year?  I would say on the whole this year was worse for games both on the industry level but also in terms of the quality of releases but luckily this list isn't about that but the games I personally played so they could be from any year. 2024 saw tons of industry layoffs, tons of game delays, tons of game cancellations and a lot of strife in general. Still, the art form was still arting and I want to share my feelings on this art. I played over 150 games counting demos this year in my hunt for Sapphic games to share with people here and across the internet although many of those were demos or otherwise incomplete games. 

I will not be including Early Access games on this list since they are not done and therefore I don’t think can really qualify for being compared with the rest of the games. Still, I want to mention Elemental Survivors, Hades 2, and Fields of Mistria all of which were some of the most fun I had playing games this year but are all experiences I intentional cut myself off from because I don’t want to hit content walls and shit.  To that effect I am not including game demos or incomplete fan games or whatever so a game like Pokemon Odyssey or the updated Gales of Nayeli Demo couldn’t show up here even if they were both also fun experiences since I want to compare a full experience of a piece of art [I don’t think you need to beat a game to experience it enough to talk about it but here I want to have explored to my satisfaction].

10. Kitsune Tails 

Mild spoiler but there is a second campaign of the game after you “beat” the game and that really elevates this game from what felt a bit like a slog to me to an exciting platformer. The game sells itself as a lesbian platformer but you know minor spoiler the first character has like an acearo arc which is nice representation although when I came in thinking I was gonna be getting a poly lesbian arc I was a let down. There is still lesbians and bi women and stuff so we do have good sapphic representation I was just during the time of the plot really not sure how to feel. Still despite that bit of jarring plot and I think a slow start to the game I really liked the way the game flows with it’s second protagonist, her movement is just a lot more fun and smooth rather than the kinda boring tride and true Super Mario World formula of the first protag. I am not the biggest platformer head, I played tons of them but these kinda classic games aren’t my favorite so it’s not “made for me” in that sense and I often found it a little too annoyingly hard for my taste but luckily the easy mode makes the game very playable for someone who just wants to do the plot and have fun on any given level without worrying too much about platforming. 

9. Dragon Age: The Veilguard 

I kinda don’t like this game yet I can’t lie the Sierra Laider, my rook took up so much of my brain space for so long it would be a lie to not put this game somewhere even if I did the heavy lifting for the game. In basically every area but the core combat loop the game is flawed and Combat suffers from repeated enemies and stuff like that. Yet, the game would have been an excellent First shot by a new team trying a new fantasy game series. And while this was a fantasy game it was blessed and cursed with the dragon age name which I think hurts this game more than it helps because while certainty engaged the lore in so many places It discards things or ignores them and it feels lkke death by 1000 papercuts. Umm i played it a lot and you can be trans [but not a lesbian you can never talk about that] so I do love those things. The hair looks Great. Welcome to the top 10. 

8. Pokemon Emerald Rouge 2.0

So this game was technically on the list last year but it got a 2.0 version in 2024 and it was an amazing glow up for the game that was already good enough to be in a game of the year list and managed to show up twice. There was just so many improvements to this game, the overall hub was massively improved, the experience of getting pokemon was improved, runs are fast and fun with a massive roster of pokemon to capture, you can give your pokemon Herbal Remedy Tea [HRT] to change their gender, you have so many different challenge runs you can do and it feels like you can always shoot for better and stronger runs. It’s just a really great game that has more flavor to me than any other attempt at Pokemon Rouge Likes I’ve played so far. If you enjoy Pokemon battles and collecting pokemon then this game is perfect. 

7. Fire Emblem: The Marrow’s Golden Country 

There is a lot of little things in this game that erk me but overall I can’t deny that this is one of the best Fire Emblem games ever made, one of the best SRPGs, etc even if I don’t love every design choice in this game. I didn’t enjoy being made to change parties for multiple maps with no option to skip, I didn’t like this forced death map near the end of one of those maps where I crushed the high difficulty enemies with my tactics turn after turn after turn just doing totally fine and turns out oh you just have to lose not because I got ran out fast enough but because I just realized oh I got like everyone to max level killing these guys again and again. I also find the second male lord the game adds to the party to be annoying an unneeded and it really felt like it was there cuz idk Sacred Stones has two lords or something cuz Zeke doesn’t really add much to the plot where Blair is clearly the star here. Final complaint is that there is  secret lesbian poly route I wanted to unlock but I had done exactly 1 support with a guy with Blair and that meant I simply couldn’t unlock it, there was no way to remove the support, just one time accidentally talking to a man once removed the option for CLair to have her 5 girlfriends. It was a really feels bad moment and it’s something I realized in the last chunk of the game making for a really awful feels moment.  That said I mean there is a fucking secret lesbian poly route in this game with the main lord and that’s fucking amazing. The ability and map design in this game is fantastic and we really get a lot of fun takes on the Fire Emblem formula though the playthough. The plot itself is up and down in quality but it’s overall a fun story with some great characters I really loved. If you like Fire Emblem you should play THe Marrow’s Golden Country, it lacks some of the modern QoL i’d really like to see but you know use save states and it’s kinda like having turn wheel. While I said a lot of negative stuff it’s more like the disclaimers because everything else is just really great, it’s firmly in my top 10 FE games and it might just be in my top 10 SRPGs. 

6. Saints Row Reboot 

When the Saint’s Row Reboot came out people hated on it but I was cautiously optimistic yet I refused to download epic so with the game finally coming to steam and going on sale I went ahead and finally grabbed it. I honestly really loved this game and I don’t really get why people were haters outside of the racists who I understand were mad that the default protag was a black woman instead of a white man in this game you can do character creation with and the canon queer cast of saints row had a pride flag in their home unlike the previous canon queer cast which simply didn’t have a pride flag? Regardless, I think the gameplay is fun, maybe it’s because I don’t play Triple A games but for me I wasn’t like “Oh it’s another open world game” it felt like I as playing a saints row game which are open world so it was just another one of those. I thought the cast was actually super charming and fun, they were cute and had a great friendship dynamic. There was a fun payoff for playing in co-op mode too near the end of the game you get some special lines for playing in co-op where it was normally ignored. It’s a crime that this studio was shut down I would have loved to see where the next Saints Row went but at least this game is a banger. 

5. Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising 

I genuinely think this is a contender for best fighting game of all time it has a lot of little issues but this game is also kind of top of the line in almost every single area. While the plot is…not great and centers the male protag gran rather than allowing the female protagonist to be an equal to him in the plot it still has a story and the story mode allowing you to fight generic enemies and play in co-op is a really fun single player mode and having plot at all is nice even if it’s mid AF. Then all the arcade modes have nice little ending arts, there is the side modes, there is a lot to do other than just going online and climbing later which is great and something really every fighting game needs. The visual presentation makes for one of the best looking video games of all time and the voice work certainly is the very best in all fighting games by a long shot. This games cast has the ideal 50/50 gender ratio for a mixed gender fighting game always presenting men and women in equal amounts rather then just throwing a few women in and feeling fine with them being the “sexy” roles every gets to full be their own weird character.This game also has multiple instances of canon queer representation with multiple trans women, a lesbian and a non playable bisexual boss woman. Among the other subtexter characters. It be hard for a better fighting game to be made. 

4. Tales of Berseria 

A sadly common case of a fantastic game held back by a terrible ending yet Velvet and Magliou are both still such great characters that it elevated it to the upper half of this list. The gameplay of this Tales Of Game is also really great with the party feeling really good together and the action RPG combat feeling just really solid and smooth to use. As often happens in these Tales Of games some of the Sketches are really bad and you can feel the old japanese man writing the story take over the mouths of all the characters so everyone can hear their feelings about how men and women are. It feels super unnatural and actively makes the characters worse where some sketches feel great and add more context, it’s this cat box of if I open this i may be annoyed or I may be delighted but it’s just not consistent enough to know. Despite the random little flaws I liked all the characters in the cast, I had a lot of fun with each character and I wish for them to all have better fates then being stuck in a prequel game that required a status quo to be reached. 

3. Vampire Survivors 

This has become my go to “stiming” game, when I just need something to play with almost no thought while I am chatting or working or something, this is a perfect game to just have my hands doing something while I work. The Ode To Castalvina DLC is brilliant, expansive and fun and fills the game with amazing music. With that amd their 2 non IP DLCs along with the core game I've loaded with things to do while also having fun things to do to unlock a large chunk of the roster though there is definitely stuff I did and will use codes to unlock if they sound boring. Even the built in cheat code system really does improve this game though it really let's the player set their own fun and way more games need to bring it back. 

2. Potionomics When I first played Potionomics when it released I really felt like the game needed voice acting and then sure enough this year it got it and I finally decided to beat this game with all of it’s fancy new features. The voice acting, cozy mode and polyamory took this from a good game to one of the best games ever made. This is truly a polished masterpiece and a true showing of the love of the devs to make their game so much better and for free for PC players too since they thought this was stuff the players who bought it before deserved to have. I did eventually hit a point where I stopped wanting to make potions and just wanted to do plot in my cozy mode run but luckily I was pretty capable of doing that since I had so much extra money. 

1. Sword Of The Necromancer  Sword of The Necromancer really blew me away and easily became one of my favorite games of all time after finishing it this year. An unbury your gays adventure where a woman does everything for the love of her life. I just really love everything about this game, the art style is really great, the voice acting is really solid, the animated opening is fantastic, and the music is great too. I really like being able to summon the little guys with the necromancer sword and have them fight for me, I am a big summoner enjoyer so I enjoyed that part of the gameplay and the combat being fairly simple was nice for me. I beat the game in about 9 hours of gameplay so it’s not super long just a nice lesbian adventure and honestly, I suck at games so it might be extended by my own deaths and stuff.  I don't want to wax on forever so read my review [https://www.tumblr.com/alexissara/750871073687535616/sword-of-the-necromancer-review] for more.

Pour le redraw, je n'ai littéralement utilisé que 3 couleurs : rouge, bleu-vert, et un peu de jaune pour l'œil. J'ai utilisé toute sortes de nuances (même le blanc est une nuance de rouge), et des modes de calques pour faire varier les teintes ^^

Part 1: main concept

Shanks raises ASL brother Masterlist

This involves a lot of rearranging of cannon events. But basically Shanks realizes that Luffy is living alone and promises him the next time he comes to Dawn island he’ll take Luffy with him. Crap finds out and take Luffy to Dadan, where he meets Ace and Sabo. Shanks returns just in time to stop the Bluejam pirates from separating the ASL brothers. He spends some time getting to know the other two boys and decides to take them with him.

Skyward Sword/Zelda au

Luffy remembers his past Life and Nika while separated from the crew. The crew is trying to find him while slowly remembering their own past lives. They are only finding bits and pieces but one memory stands out. The death of Nika at the hands of Asura.

The whole story follows the idea of Skyward sword. That Luffy is Nika reincarnated and needs to finish the job Nika set out to do before he past. Other people (the red hair pirates or the revolutionary’s) are helping him remember his past life while stoping the Strawhats from interfering.

Summary: the newly inducted, fourth moon introduced to the Upper Three Moons.

A/N: So, because the kitsune has a tendency to play back and forth from good to bad in Japanese folk tale, I chose to base the reader off of kumiho, the Korean fox demon as they are more prone to being depicted as maneaters).

The delicate hues of ambered glows that emerged from the darkness. Struct to life with a single cord, a note plucked from the night that gave birth to thousands of flames as though called damning phantoms to their duty. Cast to spent eternity in hell, guarding the depths of the hallway through the infinity castle. Glows that echoed across infinity, danced upon shadows across tatami mats. Traced silhouettes upon silk bound by lacquered panels. Deep walnuts met exquisite shades of wood that elicited the envy of foreign porcelain. Delicate as they were immaculately selected a testament to the lord of hell himself, soaked in the blood of innocents that had built the unattainable fortress; soaked with an ominous glow that threatened to snub the life of those who entered its corridors.

Each strike upon a chord a threat that abducted its victims from their refugee, dragging them to the depths of hell to answer their master’s call. A sharp note that once bore warmth, now a whisper of death’s welcome, the musician’s long lanky fingers danced across the strings. Nails gouged notes that screamed of treachery. Hair reminiscent of ink spilled in vein, dreams that would never attribute to any merit, music drowned by the depths of night to never be heard in the light of day as etched into the instructions upon her skin, and guided her siren calls. A single strum far more than capable of calling forth the undoing of man, devoid of emotion in each calculated placement. The upper ranks each a preference of their own space, save for the few.

              The attendees less than they had been in prior attendance, the caution she bid with each press of her rouged lips in greeting to the newly arrivals. The first Upper Moon savoring his space, and secrecy as he so often craved. A figment of past eras, poised as the markets that etched upon his skin and refined as the well-practiced long fingers that tipped the lavish ginseng tea to his lips. The lush spread of black hair that captured the envy of the night draped upon his shoulder. The compose straight of his back, perpendicular to the floor beneath him, his ankles tucked beneath him as straight as the line that formed at his lips. Content to himself, the notes of melancholy are a mere tune to enjoy in sacred solitude.

              Unlike the bickering of the two upper ranks before the biwa player. The second moon quickly seeks out the company of the third. Sunkissed hair, as pale as bright as the sun’s rays that met against sheltered, porcelain skin. Dewy flesh as soft as imported cotton, as lavish as freshly spun silk that met the highs of his thick ebony eyebrows. Playful iridescent eyes that captivated the light delighted in hues of kaleidoscope twinkled as they toyed with their prey. The number of his ranking etched into his irises. The wave of his hand jovial despite the tense atmosphere, and his voice as harmonious as the false kindness touched upon his features. Subtle childlike expressions that concealed the vile aspects of his personality, mocked sympathies as he whispered concerns to the stress lines that blossomed at Akaza’s brow. The tilt of his head projecting artificial concern, “Ah, I was so sad to hear of Hantengu and Gyokko.” Cooed as the way he attempted to draw near the Third Moon, the equip of betraying his façade. “I was so worried about you Akaza.”

              A mere growl the only evidence of speech dormant within the tense expression bore by the redhead. His doll-like crimson eyelashes furrowed dripping with spit as he averted his eyes from the taunting blight.  The markings at his brow crinkled, and creased at the highs of his cheeks, the shade of midnight etched into his flesh. Wrinkled at the grit of his teeth, the amber of his emblem eyes quivered at the clench of his muscles. Restrained trembles resolved agitation confined to the hierarchy embroiled on his mind from the prior meeting of the upper kizuki. The small growl of at the base of his throat, threatening the vein that drew at his temple.  “Oh dear, Lord Aka, you’ll wrinkle,” the predatory nature in which he considered drawing his nail at the outer marking upon the Third’s cheek, with draw upon the strike of a biwa cord resonating within his bones. The corner of his lips rid of any tease of concern, elicited amusement and joy. His canines revealed as the happiness emulated his features, “My, my, it would seem our new little fourth has arrived, I’ve heard rumors. I’m so excited to meet Lady [YN]. To think, she is so close to acquiring your rank, Lord Aka—” Shattered fist that drew upon the bottom of the Second Moon’s jaw. Snapped bones fragmented and teeth that struck the floor. Splatter of black blood, followed by the press of silence. The delight warm in the demon’s eyes despite the dislocation of his jaw torn from the hinges of his skull.

              “Akaza,” slow and stern. Deep and rich, drawn authority. “You will show respect.”

              The hum of his voice resignation in the quiver of his shoulders. The touch upon his vest offering no concealment, exposed to the calculating gaze of Doma, who merely delighted in the well place fear of his subordinate. The growth of his jaw snapped and grotesque as the grin that met at his teeth. “Ah, Lord Kokushibo, you’re so considerate, but please, we wouldn’t want to scare the little Fourth Moon.” Mocking, and depraved of sincerity the glint upon his gaze, a den of wolves at all angles. The first moon merely detached and appraising the arrival, the Third posed and ready threatened at the new arrival while the second merely delighted at his unease. Satisfied as the clank of the koma-geta intentionally drummed to the slants of the wood. Each step deliberately falling in line with music unheard by the remainder of the Moons.

              “Oh, don’t mind me,” warm and harmonious as the steps that echoed upon the wood flooring. Rouged lips as vibrant as blood matched only by the hue lingered upon your gaze. The compelling marking of your ranking etched into your eyes, drawn to predatory slants. Movements fluid and as the sway of your hips, unbothered by the delicate embellishments, gifts of slayed lovers catching in the lantern glows. Luminescent as the fires within your eyes, the pout of a smile forming, at the reveal of your upper thigh, the fold of your kimono exposing skin to the night air. Shoulders born, the draw of your hair long and luxurious. Intricately weave and revealing the lavish nature of odango, curled upon impossible lengths, questionable so, and hinting upon the figments of magic as the press of the fan, a false pretense of a docile woman. Conveying only one that cultivated your pray, drew attention to the depths of your clavical and the heave of your breast, as well as the canine that revealed in your smile more than enough to elicit the wrinkle of the Third’s nose, and the further grit of his teeth. Demure and coy as the roll of your shoulder in a mock bow, the bend of your knees in greeting to the Upper Tier moons.  The curl of tails falling at your back, toyed upon the steps you drew forward in greeting, poised in charm. The plush of your tails, traced upon by Kokushibo counting as they swayed, unable to conceal the nature of your being. The dangle upon the hair pins, harmonious, and musical each pitch falling upon the screams of torn lovers devoured in the dead of night on a rendezvous turned blood bath. The draw of their appeal tempting Doma to curl his fingers from one specific one. A delicate one, intentionally placed, as fragile as blown glass. Aged and polished, bearing an unspoken significance standing apart from the others as revealing as the smile Doma bore the callous of his finger drawing to allow its jingle.

              The snap of your fan swift, a clatter that drew Lord Kokushibo’s many eyes, observation and traced upon movements nearly missed upon Akaza’s. The threat poised in your stature, revealing the concealed lethality as your fan cupped under the Second’s chin forcing his jaw and his attention to your own. “Careful, I’m not certain you can afford my services.” Delicate and struck upon the biwa cord intended to maintain the façade of seduction slipped between venom.

              “Oh my,” Doma purred despite the obvious tension of disarray upon the Infinity Castle, predators poised, and mistrustful. None among you willing to entrust yourselves with one another, and such clear disrespect while portrayed as playfulness etched into unspoken territories. “They say, little foxes never reveal their true selves.” Delighted and warmed, allowing his chin to press into the fan at the quip of his grin growing dark and sinister as they traced the guarded the embellishment, “but there is always something that gives them away.”

Beneath the Veil Headcanons | Kokushibo, Doma, and Akaza

Initially, your presence has agitated Akaza. He places a significant importance upon his battle prowess, and any new addition to the Upper Moon draws his focus. Most commonly, it’s because he desires a challenge.

Adores the opportunity to combat a new opponent, especially one who is immortal, and able to rise night after night, and free him from his boredom.

However, in your case, the flow of your pride, and the confidence in each of your steps elicits his ire. The draw of your rouged lips, touched upon intentionally placed laughter, callous and artificial as the Second Moon’s, and at first, your resemblance to the upper rank is more than enough grounds for Lord Akaza to hold you in contempt.

The ranking just below his, he thinks, no is confident that he could eliminate you from the rankings if not for his Achilles heel. A woman amongst the Upper Ranks, while not impossible, or something he has not happened upon before, yet the dire situation that the Demon forces have found themselves against the Slayers, the opportunity to evade your existence as he had Nakime, and Daki is unlikely.

Close quarters, and frequent meetings he is stuck with the eyesore (you), and he is bitter. Aware that finding another replacement for the Upper tier will only elicit Muzan’s ire, and so he is left with little choice but to accept the stain of your smile upon his night.

Endure the taunting and teasing, regardless how much his skin recoils at the linger of your touch. Internal war, if only you were a male his stance would be far simpler.

Though of course, as a newly inducted Moon, you are unlikely aware of his aversion to women, and it’s easy to take such slights personally. Just as the way you conduct yourself leaves the impression that it is fully your intention to toy with him, only furthering his contempt.

Yet, as time goes on, and small details of each of your pasts, or positions are revealed whether in little slips of having to frequent each other’s territories, or one slipped from Doma, who just delights stirring the pot, you’ll discover that there is more to your compatibility than initially believed.

The reality is that you are both by nature in desperate need of trust to cement your bond whether romantically, friendship, or just work peers. But it will take so much time, or mere forced together orders from the Master for him to accept your partnership on various missions.

No matter how I look at it, tact-wise, Muzan is likely to keep you within Akaza’s vicinity. Ironically, Akaza believes he is safeguarding you when in reality, you’re his caretaker.

Intended to shield him from the depths of reality, and sweep away any potential female opponents that may stray into his range. It’s going to be difficult, and one full of back and forth cutting remarks. Both of you are prone to being fairly forthcoming with your communication and ires, and as such, communication is likely to flow quite a bit better than it would with the other moons.

Both of you are fairly adaptable, and makes the work relationship easier to navigate in the flow of battle.

As one who utilizes a fan, the only difficulty is that your fighting stances are a little more difficult to navigate, and will take trial and error. Especially as Akaza does not desire your assistance—nor accepts you as a warrior.

You are not prone to being on the wavelength, and butting heads will come rather routinely for the both of you, but I imagine that Akaza will falter in most disputes.

Not because you haven’t entirely pissed him off, but as he remains traditional at his core, and values the more historical entanglement men and women have had for centuries.

Although, admittedly, your inability to shy away from conflict may actually delight him.

I mean, he’ll never admit it, but you discover that he is far more willing to seek out your company, allowing more time to actually remain around you.

Seeks to protect you, though there are little threats aside from the remainder of the UpperMoons tha could pose a threat to your existence, and because of this, it won’t be difficult to catch on to the fact that Akaza actually just enjoys your company.

though he cannot articulate why that may be.

Oh the dynamic duo that draws exhaustion from all parties in your vicinity. He delights in your pluck, and is instantly smitten with you.

Oh, he delights in the banter, in the opportunity to go blow for blow. Unlike Lord Akaza, your gender means very little to him aside from the fact that if the Second were to perhaps take a small nibble… the thought has crossed his mind you will be delectable.

Far more delicious than those of his worshipers, or any courtesan.

Craves the moment in which he may finally infringe upon your bites. Though it will not be any time soon—you are in no rush to challenge him for his placement, and thus taking a nibble out of you will result in Lord First’s clear disapproval, Lord Akaza has more than expressed his disgust at his tastes, and he is certain that the Master would not accept searching for a replacement.

Which may secure his existence, but he’s not confident enough to make that bet, and so for now, Doma will just delight in peeking beneath the veil.

He has a natural talent for sniffing out the details you do not wish to dispose, such as the aged embellishment you safeguarded upon your meeting. It’s so pretty.

What if he were to break it?

Oh the thought gives him amusement, and because of this, he will push and play. Press nerves, but beneath it, the cold and guarded exterior you often display, is not fooling him.

Just as his false pretenses are not luring you to any deceptions any time soon, you are well aware that Lord Second is not as dimwitted as he pretends to be.

No, rather, you are so faithfully aware that the smallest part of you cannot understand how Lord Third does not see the way the cult leader lures him time, and time again.

You are both adapt at processing, and because of this, there leaves little missed opportunities for the both of you. An opening, and similar fighting styles will make for a lethal combination.

While you have the ability to seize tactical movements, Doma has the ability to prey upon emotional weaknesses, only furthering your opportunities.

Sadly, it’s the consistent skipping over small details that could lead to the downfall of the both of you. While Doma is more than willing to get to know you.

Oh he adores the challenge, and welcomes it as it comes, or he forces it. He so desperately seeks out company, perhaps due to his own upbringing and staleness of life, you offer a rare treat amongst the mundane, but if you are wishing for something more there will be a complication of how forthcoming Doma himself avers to be.

The real question is if either of you are willing to reveal your hands, but the teasing is more than delectable.

The oldest of the Upper Moons will show very little interest upon your arrival at first. The reality is that for the swordsman, many such as you have come, and gone just as swiftly as they have arrived.

He is aware you are a mere last minute addition composed of pressure from the Demon Slayer Corps, and as such, he has a tendency to meet your inclusion as little more than formality.

Keeping to the hierarchy, and unspoken protocol of the kizuki. Yet as you continue to linger, and force yourself into his company, little things such as expressing that you will be seeing him soon, and falling through with such sentiments is likely to gain his interest.

Especially if you follow more formal, traditional methods that are reminiscent of the Edo era. Intuitive by nature, the both of you have the ability to make decisions regardless of how complex the situation may be.

Such formalities, and flow of your time together, the way he finds himself allowing to come undone, and touch upon past selves, he’s curious. So to the point he would not admit to such, and yet, you have caught his attention.

For you, it is the fact that Lord Kokushibo, renowned for his reclusive nature has taken up an interest in you. While it’s true that he will not be changing his nature, nor can you expect him to grow more extroverted.

It is not who he is, and never will be, you will delight in the way he entertains your company. Quietly awaiting your arrival to his accommodations, the sudden appearance of a second tea cup upon your arrival, and engaged conversation.

You know you are warming up to him. The blunt approach to the both of your natures is a contribution to the flow of discussions, and as such there’s a warmth that comes naturally between the two of you should you only give it time.

However, that’s the catch. It will require a depth of time but you’re both immortal so… you are not one to dispose of your hand, cloaking yourself rather than readily reveal vulnerabilities, and the same can be expressed by the Upper Moon.

Your bond is one that is unspoken, and is as natural as the flow of the winds and breath within your lungs. A natural understood, able to see each other for who you truly are, and as long as you allow yourself the ability to accept the time it will take—you will find that your connection is one of sparks.

If it is a romantic connection you are seeking, you may find yourself savoring his touch, and the callousness of his hands. The quiet purse of his lips as he listens to your recent encounters, and the small smile that forms at his lips.

If it is not a romantic connection you desire, then you will find friendship will come just as easily, but ultimately, a work relationship will be one in passing.

Not a partnership in which you routinely work together, but rather a co-worker that you have a great repertoire with.

The best part of having a corrupted Alya is that Alya has the power to manipulate illusions and she knows everything about Marinette. Especially how easily Marinette sways or bends to Adrien, so she is obviously going to take advantage of that.

Add a younger Marinette being forced to watch on top of that.

Okay so this has been circling around in my head for like two weeks like a fly hitting windows in a sun-room.

So I'm back on my Tails kitsune AU bullshit and I've also recently gotten into Cult of the Lamb so now they've mashed in my brain into a hodgepodged gloop.

And it's all going below the cut if you wanna read my brain worms cause it's long

***Trigger warning for like blood and cults and kidnapping and drugging. Just to give people a heads up (nothing too graphic or detailed but just in case and let me know if you think I missed anything I might need to warn people about)****

Little side note before jumping into this: do not tag as shipping, there is no shipping here it's all platonic and familial. If I see a ship tag I will block you.

Starting off it doesn't matter if Tails is actually a kitsune or not (I personally prefer that yes he is just for the post situation of the gang all being like "okay so what species is Tails actually???" )

I've just had this idea in my head where some cult somewhere is started and they worship kitsune's as godlike entities. They then catch wind of Tails in the news or rumors and their target is now locked.

So this cults leader gets the 'big brain but head actually empty' idea to kidnap Tails like any sane cult leader would.

Now these people somehow stumble ass backwards into kidnapping Tails and keeping him contained. And by keeping him contained they're basically drugging Tails just enough he's conscious but nonreactive. And they basically dress him up and drag him to their ceremonies as more of object than a kid. Tails is hating it and actually scared cause what the hell is wrong with these people let him go home.

Meanwhile Sonic and the gang are all freaking out cause "WHERE IS HE??!!!!" Cause lets be honest kidnapped by a cult was not on any of their bingo cards and at this point they don't know that's what happened, they only know Tails is gone and none of the usual suspects have him.

Rouge starts going through her contacts on the side looking for any crumb of information and gets a lead. And in typical Rouge fashion splits off on her own to look into it. She then comes across the cult and infiltrates their compound.

During her snooping though she overhears the leader of the cult and his subordinates talking about "living forever through the blood of their god's mortal form", sees a statue of a multi-tailed fox and all the red flags are immediately up for her. Internal panic button is smashed. 2 + 2 = fucked up situation.

She's already pressing the "get your asses here" button on her communicator and tears off as quickly but quietly as she can looking for Tails. When she finds him he's in a locked room just laying in bed, all dressed up in a white outfit. Which strange for her to see him just laying there since normally he'd be out and gone long time ago She sees what they've been giving him next to the bed and she's now double pissed off. (I like to think it's at least been over a week Tails has been missing, but if you wanna get really angsty make about 6 months, just as long as Sonic was locked up in Forces).

As gently but quickly as she can she bundles up Tails and carries him cause at this point he's got so much in his system he can't walk or talk, blinking is kinda his only form of communication at the moment. To which Rouge doesn't know what's worse, for Tails to have been asleep for the whole time unaware or to be awake for the whole time and know what's happening.

Tails on the other hand is just so happy to see her and scared that he starts crying. Which is just breaking Rouge's heart to witness as she starts to backtrack out of there with him, with him just silently crying nonstop in her arms.

Unfortunately only about halfway to the exit they discover Tails is gone and the place starts going into lock down with cultist swarming the halls of the place. And even though Rouge is an excellent fighter, she's in close quarters with a kid who can't walk so she's quickly overrun by cultist who tie her up and take Tails back.

The leader then using all of his one brain cell figures she's already signaled to the other's where they are and he knows it's only a matter of time before the fastest thing on the planet busts their door down looking for his little brother.

The leader announces to the group they're moving up the ceremony to now much to Rouge's horror and they drag her along too kicking and screaming cause they don't have time to drop her off in a cell or anything.

Everyone is now in this big ceremony/chapel room that has a big stone table covered in white flowers, that suspiciously is the perfect size for an 8 year old fox to lay down on. And the leader does just that laying Tails on the table.

Rouge is throwing an absolute fit and cursing everyone out cause no way in hell is she gonna let this happen, it's to the point multiple people are having to hold her down even with her tied up cause she's kicking up such a storm of rage.

Meanwhile, Tails is mentally absolutely freaking out in a panic and is terrified out of his mind, especially when the leader brings out a large ornate knife and starts chanting something.

As the leader is finishing up and reeling back his hand with the knife Sonic busts in and sees all of this. Immediately rushing to the table just as the cult leader goes for the downswing.

Sonic just barely catches the knife about an inch from Tails' chest grabbing on to the blade of it and cutting his hand which drips onto Tails.

Now Sonic finally has a moment to process all of this and what exactly is happening and for obvious reasons he is beyond pissed off. He's probably not far off from turning into dark Sonic or it's creeping around the edges of him. And just as he's about to send the cult leader to meet his maker he glances at Tails' face and that's the only reason he doesn't kill the leader right then and there. Cause Sonic thought Tails was asleep but now he notices not only is Tails somewhat awake but tears are streaming down his face.

So Sonic does the next best thing in this situation, knocks out the leader in less than a second and just pulls Tails into a hug off the table and starts just sobbing with Tails in his lap curled up on the floor. Cause the horror of what about happened and the relief Tails is okay and he found him in time hits Sonic all at once.

The rest of the cultists are still frozen cause for Sonic, Tails and the leader all that happened in less than a minute and the group is still catching their bearings of everything that just happened. Which is a good thing cause in that moment everyone else catches up and runs into this whole scene.

From their perspective though they just see Sonic sobbing over a limp Tails with blood on his chest (from Sonic's hand but they don't know that), a guy knocked out (or possibly dead??) next to them, a big stone table that suspiciously looks like an alter also next to them, Rouge who is still cursing up a storm tied up in the corner and held down by like 5 people, and a room full of people in matching robes that look like the guy up near Sonic and Tails.

The rest of the group now splits off with Amy and Knuckles running over to Sonic and Tails, Shadow going for the leader on the ground, Omega going to help Rouge, and the rest of their friends they had helping them splitting off to take care of the rest of the cultists.

From here everything gets resolved, cultists and leader locked up, Tails getting what ever drugs they were giving him out of his system and going home and everyone somewhat going back to their lives. Sonic however does not leave Tails' side for a while and hovers around him which for the first few weeks Tails appreciates cause if he's honest he doesn't want Sonic to be far from him either after everything and really doesn't want to be alone for long. Tails get constant nightmares about the situation and is snuggling with his big brother almost every night. Which is great for Sonic cause he's also getting terrible nightmares from the ordeal and feels better when he wakes up and Tails is right there.

It does get to the point though where after a bit of recovery and time healing the mental scars Tails has to convince Sonic that he can be go back to running around and exploring without Tails right next to him. It takes a lot of convincing and scheduling regular check-ins (like 5x more than they previously had) but Sonic and Tails slowly get somewhat back to their normal lives.

If you wanna get angsty though have it so Sonic is just a second too slow in saving Tails and the fallout from that. (couldn't be me though I'm a hurt/comfort girly at heart, give me the angst but everyone's okayish in the end)

Rena Rouge redesign!!!

I took inspo from conductors, mardi gras, and her og design. This redesign was challenging for me to do since I do like her og design and didn't want to just copy-paste that one. My thought process and bts sketches are down below ^_^

My first thoughts were of conductors since she plays the flute, and conductors control the orchestra like her powers control illusions. That's why she has a button-up suit and even a waist-fabric thing in some sketches. The mask follows the same music theme with it being inspired by the phantom of the opera. I wanted to turn her ears into a scrunchie-type accessory and give her curlier hair.

I thought more of the mask and made it look like a kitsune for a bit before remembering that Alya is Creole. So then I took inspiration from Mardi Gras which is huge in Louisiana. I also experimented with the ears more, making them attached to the mask instead of the hair. There are also more diamonds in her design, and I tried to simplify the design since it didn't feel enough like a hero suit. (No more boots!)

Colors, design placement, and the hair were a NIGHTMARE and I felt very indecisive, but I eventually settled on something I liked!

Sonic, of course, found Tails at Westside Island.

Dread found Sails when his crew left him. He was on a nearby island.

Nine is currently a free god that has no one. Of course, Rebel and Knux know they have a god but don't know who it is. The council is still trying to find him as well.

Once the gods are found, they are loyal to whoever, and they can break the promise if they wanted to.

Mangey is torn between Thorn and Prim once he found out what happened.

Sails can either follow dread or stay with the crew. When They found a new gem.

Tails will follow Sonic anywhere as long as he is alright.

Nine is a free nomad still. Don't have to follow anyone for the time being.

Yeah? If I understood correctly lol

Well, Sonic is based on Scott Mccall, main protag. After around season 3 he becomes Alpha and eventually turns Silver.

Tails is based on Stiles Stilinski, Scott's best friend. At some point (i forgot the exact season) he gets possessed by a nogitsune which is an evil kitsune spirit, but dw he gets freed.

Russell(OC) is based on Noah Stilinski, although instead of being Tails' biological father, he adopted him.

Bernadette, Sonic's mom, is based on Melissa Mccall (Scott's mom). She's a nurse and yes she does eventually figure out.

Jules, Sonic's father, is based on Agent Mccall (Rafael Mccall). Divorced from Bernadette and pretty much a ghost in Sonic's life, he's never present for him.

Amy is based on Alisson Argent, although in this AU, she doesn't die. She's a beast hunter, but eventually becomes an ally.

Shadow is based on Derek Hale, he's a werewolf and an ally. He helps Sonic gain control with the price of helping him find whatever Alpha bit Sonic.

Silver is based on Liam Dunber(?), frequented same school as Sonic and got bit by him kinda by accident.

Knuckles is based on Jackson Whittemore, starts off as kind of a jerk, eventually becomes an ally. He's a kamina. Also dating Rouge.

Rouge is based on Lydia Martin, she's a banshee and frequented same school as Sonic also. Don't really have much to say about her, I didn't draw her out yet, even lol!
