funny how this fic started off as an "unserious" idea (not cracky, more so i didn't take it that seriously, it was basically so i could rotate certain characters from my head into a google doc), i didn't expect to care abt it as much as i do now like i have a basic chapter layout for half of the set chapter count, specific scenes prewritten, a planning doc with around five pages thus far, the basics (title, summary, etc), random scenes for it spinning around in my head, and a bit of chapter one and three pages of chapter four written 😭
and i started properly thinking stuff for and working on this fic like...two days ago

i am standing in my room, leggies rooted to the floor. i am in shock .frozen and i have no idea how to proceed. there is a perpetual pathetically sobbing serpent under my blankie.
#stares at the camera and stage whispers#i can't be responsible for another living creature. i can't. or . er. i can. but I SHOULDN'T#i'll have to suppress every violent urge in my body to keep this thing alive for several months#i CANNOT fling him out the window. i WILL NOT grab his entire face and squeeze. I SHALL NOT chew on his tail.#now i'm reminded of that post where it's a pretty princess cage on the floor and comments go [that aint big enough for a dog]#and OP is all [it's not FOR a dog 😀]#yeah. that's me right now imagining a full grown yakumo in a cage by my bedside#SO FOR EASE OF MY IMAGINATION AND TO increase yaku's chance of surviving these next months#i'm going to try real hard to imagine him exclusively in pocket snake form (scrunches up my face in valiant effort)#his enclosure (crib?!?!) is flanked on all sides by eiden plushies#since yaku is an adult there is a smaller chance of him suffocating on eiden in his sleep. wait. actually#arranges the eiden walls to give some pockets of air. i don't trust him. he WILL suffocate on eiden given the opportunity#he gets one of those tiny dollhouse cooking sets for enrichment LOL#or i'll give him a bunch of those make-your-own gummy kits with elaborate setups and tiny egg gummies#crying yaku is the excuse i need to finally get a humidifier#i can survive not misting myself.. usually... but yaku will cry himself into dehydration. it's misting time#he gets an entire alcove closed off in the corner with his basic needs met. i cannot perceive#he can lurk in privacy as much as he wants. there are at least TWO hot rocks in there with garukaru's faces painted on em#there is a duplicate open-space alcove next to it for when he actually wants something from me LOL#is he a free range snake? can i take him to a bunch of restaurants and shove food into my sleeve for him? he wants to sample the delights..#tempted to put a bell on him just so if he gets loose in the basement i'll know to fish him out#but he's pretty cautious... he won't get into any fatal situations in the house right? ...does he know how to swim?!#at least one day is reserved for testing yaku's swimming capabilities.#he is going into the bathtub while it has a film of water. gonna test his traction. i hope i won't get panic-strangled#asks

Genuine question. What do I do if I like basically every single perfume sample in a set I got
#i bought the commodity fragrances exploration kit because i was so curious about all the scents#and i’m slowly making my way through them. i’m not really bothering with the paper strips; just spraying it directly onto my skin#because i want to see how long each scent is detectable on my skin; how they interact with my body chemistry etc#i mean like i have some clear favourites but there’s really only a couple i don’t care for#(book personal because it doesn’t strike me as unique; i feel like any sandalwood-based essential oil perfume would smell fairly similar#paper personal because it’s so faint as to be barely detectable; juice overall because i have something similar already)#i really like the smell of moss but it doesn’t smell like Me somehow so i don’t think i’d get a bigger bottle#milk personal is the only one of the milk line i’ve tried so far and i liked it but found it a tiny bit faint#i’m going to wear milk expressive all day tomorrow and see how it does#i got a free 7.5ml bottle of gold personal with the black friday sale and i’m So glad because i love the entire gold line so so much#expressive is my favourite but i’m really glad i have almost 10ml of personal in total#paper expressive is so interesting to me. it reminds me of a campfire#book expressive smells like the most wonderful greenhouse i have ever walked into#i haven’t gotten heavily into the bold line yet but i feel like i’m going to have to do complex equations by the end of this to figure out#what i want#right now i’m leaning towards a duo set with gold & paper expressive but that could all change#i’m going to wait til my birthday in february anyway#like i have 18 samples plus the 7.5ml bottle of gold personal which i love.. i’ll be surprised if i use everything by then#*use up everything i mean. i’ll definitely try everything at least once by then#also i want to spend my christmas money on something actually sensible#i have no such plans for my birthday money as yet#personal

#got him got him got him got him got him#at 85 pity on a guaranteed... rather late but he's HERE#i am exceedingly pleased i like him so much#he was a personality pull for me but i actually ended up liking his kit a lot? which was a surprise#so erm. SLAY#oh!! considering building him a team... likely rosaria xingqui zhongli#which gives me a reason to finally fucking build my (c6) rosaria and (c5) xingqui#zhongli of course slays the house down. i wouldn't have it any other way#means possible abyss team fenangling (IF wrio is floor 12 worthy...) but we shall see!#he'd have to outperform either alhaitham/raiden/nahida/zhongli or childe/fischl/kazuha/bennett...#oh lol would be good for an abyss rotation that prefers cryo chars. really the ultimate goal is a GOOD team for every element#i don't like running the abyss all that much but i do love making team comps for it#mostly for the primos though. it's about the grind#REALLY i'd like to make wrio an exploration team but (to me) that requires zhongli kazuha (parkour) + a bow character (sniping birds)#but idk. maybe i make a wrio exception. he deserves it#anyway. currently collecting bugs for him to eat. reminds me of fiending for scarabs for cyno#see this is why i should get itto. complete the trio. boys who eat bugs#and THEN i can run monogeo <3#anyway. back to wriothesley. who fucking named him that. dude doesn't even introduce himself by saying his name#fucking. “call me your grace.” dipshit#and his kit... really really happy that it's 1. fun and 2. actually packs a punch... perhaps he may be more than a pretty face after all!#granted my half-built wrio has a crit ratio of 8% cr and 187% cd. slightly horrific but when he slays he SLAYS#that's what a lvl 90 crit dmg weapon plus a crit dmg ascension stat will do to a mf. oh and like three lvl 20 artifacts#also love how they animated his punches -- he's light on his feet/bounces after the atk sequence. feels fluid + real#the attention to detail is so nice!!! i love these little things they're so wonderful#see i would love to compare it to heizou's atk sequence but the guy avoids me like the PLAGUE. istg i got THREE 5*S on his featured banner#no heizou. i remain heizouless. it's ridiculous. also very funny. literally what are the odds... c6 yaoyao + 6 copies of xiangling... no zo#hmmmm i'd probably wish more on wrio's banner but. erm. i will likely not use any of the 4*s here and i already got TWO DORIS. bad bad bad#sorry thoma and chongyun... i love u but u i don't want to build u </3#in short. i love wriothesley i am EXCEEDINGLY happy. he's living in my teapot and i'm gonna get him to friendship 10 so fast...

#kit plays da:v#like my big problem is that#zara wasn't really a big deal?#in like a she wasn't really as big of a threat#and like had a much smaller part to play way#yeah lucanis wants to kill her and rightfully so for everything at the ossuary#but then she loses her prize...science experiment I guess and does nothing?#at then end of tevinter nights I felt like she hated this man#for killing venetori and was going to go after his family as pay back#so all I keep thinking about is what if she had#what if she did kill catarina as punishment for lucanis escaping#wait that reminds me do people who didn't read that story#understand why she was bathing in blood in the game#I've only played through the game once so far#and even then I haven't finished yet because of irl obligations#but did she mention it? was there a codex entry maybe?#idr and important things getting shoved into a single codex entry bothers me SO#zara kills catarina which already makes her more of a threat#maybe we get a fun little show of zara using catarina's blood to keep herself young#then maybe you fight her and then illario joins in and it feels like he's helping#but oh no oops whoops illario accidentally lets her get away#such a shame too bad guess all we can do is plan catarina's real funeral this time for sure#then maybe that leads to lucanis opening up a little more about his life with catarina and his feelings about her#then it can be all about tracking zara down with illario being shady#maybe fledglings are going missing the closer you get to that quest#because she was bathing in blood but like where did all that come from#did she have imported or#anyway here she's killing crows to mock lucanis and possibly rook#then you fight her again and it goes like in game#maybe with extra little jabs about possibly doing the same to rook as she did to catarina depending on relationship status

If I ever do get properly into dst character modding I like have to make an oni character mod at some point, but the issue is Id want it to be an Olivia mod so bad but also Nails is as far as I'm aware the only legal character name wise and as such it feels like it has to be them, y'know for the bit. But also I have already written too much Olivia dst dialogue and I need an excuse to use it damnit
#rat rambles#oni posting#starve posting#also good ol dr winslow would be dead in seconds I think#not that most of the cast would fare much better but I believe in olivia to last longer#more importantly though it would simply be easier to justify olivia kit wise as while nails was involved in printing pod stuff they didnt#yknow. invent the damn thing.#idk we technically dont have olivia initials yet she Could have a w middle name if we believe hard enough#we have a jackie middle initial tho so shes off the table doubly because she also would have like 50 in each stat lol#also again olivia constant dialogue is just so much more fun to write#especially when it comes to mob examination quotes#also several jokes and bits that I could technically do with nails too but olivia is easier to craft a consistent voice for#as much as we get a surprisingly large amount of characterization for nails they still only have one log of dialogue at the end of the day#like I have hcs and stuff but they are fragile as hell#klei could come out swinging and recontectualize everything theyve ever said at any time if they wanted to it wouldnt be hard#again its one log with little context to most of the things they say#so while we have a glimpse of their character we don't rly see them in enough contexts to rly get a solid general characterisation I think#not that I want more per say my point is simply that any hcs I do have could easily be disproven by not a lot of new information#like itd be very easy for them all to crumble into dust the second klei adds more logs#technically many of my olivia hcs are equally fragile but those are mostly the ones that dont matter much in this context#like idk they could be like fun fact olivia actually loves kids and gets along great with them but I doubt thatll happen#oh that reminds me scariest thing abt oni actually is the idea that some of our lil scientist guys could have kids#like the email abt there not being a bring your kids to work day doesnt inherently mean any of the characters we know have kids but it#makes me remember the possibility and that scares me#like I dont wanna think abt devon potentially having a kid I dont wanna imagine them putting pictures of their baby with toast online#I mean I do but its still like wtf why do you have a life that existed thats scary and it also makes me sad but its also funny so its good#I still stand by my frankie and mason divorce hc frankie got custody of the baby devon got custody of the food blog#its a good think jackie and olivia dont have a kid thatd suck for the kid so bad#like imagine your moms being the worlds saddest wettest cats of women and just having to grow up with that#and theyd be terrible parents for sure jackie would be an absent father and olivia would become an alcoholic
