Episode 1085 is so good. Tears in my eyes for most of it, but Oda has that perfect twist of the absurd with the really heartfelt. So there were our three idiot captains as well, of course. Man, I love it. Think I have to do a montage of the 3 times they've put their brainless competitive faces on the scene and made us laugh. Good to see Luffy and Law at the helm of their ships too, though. Even though it was in an act of recklessness. Kid, Kid, Kid.

And Bepo first telling Law not be reckless. Law telling him to shut up and follow. Bepo agreeeing. Penguin and Shachi saying it's not okay, and that he should do his best to persuade Law. Thereby, that is Bepo's role usually on the ship!

Anyway, so much of it, the majority of it, was about Wano. And I loved the way they framed it. What a tale (gonna love seeing the Straw hat flag flying over Wano. Oh, and Franky, Nami, Brook and Chopper tearing up over Momonosuke. Love 'em all).

I'm rereading some Punk Hazard chapters, and beside all the other stuff about the soul switcheroo thing, I like how there's a few genuine caring moments with both Nami and Sanji (in the switched bodies) still worrying about the damage the body took,

that despite the initial shock & discomfort (or comfort) of certain characters, they still are very concerned when they have to be in dangerous situations.

Omg literally all of this is SO GOOD and sorry to piggyback off of it, but I also don’t think Luffy would be thrilled that when it came down to it Sanji asks himself what Luffy would want. Luffy’s entire issue at WCI was that Sanji was just doing what everyone wanted and even just the fact that Sanji was trying to decide based off what Luffy would want him to do would make Luffy unhappy

Also this panel from baratie rotates in my mind like a rotisserie chicken

And I can just see Luffy going through the same motions to say “I didn’t come get you at WCI for you to give up your freedom, for you to prioritize what you think I would want” and I think ultimately Sanji’s choice to destroy to suit would have been “Luffy’s choice” but Luffy’s choice would also be whatever Sanji wanted, as long as it’s genuinely what he wanted and idk if Sanji really understands that and he’s trying his hardest and you can see him growing as a character but he just can reconcile with the fact that death is an unacceptable option for Luffy, that Luffy will always at least try to save him

Everytime there’s an incident I think to myself “Luffy would not be happy about this”

Also some more things I was thinking about :

Love how the Denjiro angle fit in, him being Kyoshiro plus the grief does affect a person's face, maybe this was a little extensive but it is true nevertheless. But absolutely loved how it worked out.

Also it's super funny how Denjiro thinks it's Kinnemon's plan when it's just Kinnemon being simply simple and dumb😂😂

Also also also the whole backstory was fun to watch, not the sad parts, they were super moving.

I loved the transition of when Oden was fighting Kaido and they showed us Sakura leaves, and then just for a slight moment they transitioned it into blood and back again, that was so wow. The bloodshed all around was represented by Sakura leaves.

Also when Kanjuro was leaving and Kinnemon was like, WHO DREW THAT, YOU COULD DRAW THAT WELL? That was kinda funny

Also also also, a part of me is still anxious because I don't know what's happening with Sabo, Istg if something happens to him. I'm just gonna cry for days and be super angry🫠 (what more can I do? But I swear I won't forgive that.)

Omg yes! I cant find the right words for it but someone mentioned how previous one piece arcs become even more relevant or you appreciate it more as the story goes on. I love how from punk hazard to wano can be viewed from momonosuke and kinemons perspective as their journey to gather allies to defeat kaido and reclaim wano odas storytelling is top tier

What is even going on in one piece

Pretty Simple Really:

After Arriving in Wano, Luffy made enemies of Kaidou’s crew rather quickly.

We found out that Kinnemon and Momonosuke are from the past thanks to a time devil fruit

The group has developed a plan to take down the Shogun at this festival on Kaidou’s personal Isle, Onigashima. To do so tey’ll need supplies and the last 3 members of Oden’s personal group the The Nine Scabbards. (Currently: One is a mountain Bandit that wants nothing to do with them anymore. Another is a prisoner in a mining jail ran by Kaidou’s Disasters, Queen. The third, we have no info on.)

However, Luffy gets into a fight with a drunken Kaidou and gets his ass kicked and taken to the prisoner mine.

The Straw Hat’s are shocked as they’re trying to do their own plans: with Franky trying to get the plans to Onigashima’s palace, Robin infiltrating the Shogun of Wano, Orochi’s Palace with Nami and Chopper backing her up as ninja. Zoro wandered off and meet a wierd laughing and smiling guy named Yasu.

We see Big Mom arrive, but gets knocked overboard thanks to one of Kaidou’s other All-Stars, King.

We meet a courtesan named Komurasaki who is considered the most beautiful woman in Wano and Orochi wants to marry.

Robin’s plan fails and she is forced to retreat with Chopper and Nami.

Meanwhile, Orochi grows furious at Toko, the child that Komurasaki brings with her. Toko laughs at Orochi uncontrollably and Komurasaki turns out to be the daughter of Oden and stands up to Orochi. But she is cut down by the Yakuza boss who is allied with Orochi, Kyoshiro.

Yasu has helped the straw hats to his village where everyone is laughing

Zoro is then in a wintry area of Wano and loses his Shusui sword to a guy named Gyukimaru.

Also, Zoro is attacked by a merc named Kamazo who was chasing a woman named Hiyori. Hiyori is actually Komurasaki and is grateful to Zoro.

In prison, Luffy meets an old man named Hyo, the former Yakuza head. Hyo and Luffy fight in torture arena thanks to Queen and are forcd to wear seastone collars that can detonate.

Chopper also finds Big Mom, who has amnesia.

Back in prison, Caribou and Raizou are trying to stage a break out whole Hyo shows Luffy new Armament Haki power

Back with Zoro and Hiyori, they find Yasu is to be executed by Orochi because he’s been linked to the covert message system that Oden’s forces are using to get ready for the revolution.

Yasu turns out to be a former daimyou and curses Orochi convincing other suspected prisoners to be let go. Yasu dies and all the people from his village can do is laugh

It turns out the SMILE fruits made by Caesar have a one in ten chance of giving you powers. But the other nine results is you lose all emotion except for this giggly happy persona.

Its revealed the Kamazo had been a product of that and he was actually Killer from Kidd’d crew.

Law gets into a fight with Hawkins and Sanji fights Drake

Now, Big Mom has arrived at prison, caused the breakout with her rampage and now Luffy wants to know the advanced armament Haki.

That’s pretty much it.
