i am actually kind of fascinated by the worm fanfiction environment because it’s like. worm is fucking massive. there are a lot of works that are hard to write fanfiction for because they kinda say everything there is to say about themselves already within the pre-existing plot, but worm is not like that. worm is fucking massive. there are so many interesting worldbuilding details & character arcs we see implied but not played out in full that would be fun to make shit up about. if you gave me twenty minutes w/ a piece of paper and pencil i could probably come up with fifty different character-driven worm fanfiction ideas. 

like here: aisha introspecting about how her big brother carried her away from one of the worst days of her life but now she can’t figure out how to do the same for him. recounting of how 13yo alec escaped from heartbreaker. what danny was thinking and doing while taylor was gone. day in the life of the travelers w/ one bit from each of their perspectives to demonstrate all the different plates they were spinning and how inevitably those plates were gonna fall. dragon & defiant character developing convo while they’re chasing after the nine. I Could Go On. i don’t even have to bring AUs into it until i get into the thirties, probably. fuck it, if you wanna get real creative, write about the day one of the civilizations the entities previously visited got kersploded. there are a million one-off lines you could develop.

and yet. 85% of the worm fanfiction out there is just like. “what if taylor. had a different power that is less cool and thematically fitting than bugs.” the tedious convoluted AUs that would be the bottom of the barrel in literally any other fandom somehow comprise The Vast Amount of worm fanfiction. people will be out there putting characters in situations you did not know it was possible to put them in. why are we making our amy and alec dolls kiss, and more importantly, why is that one of the most notable alec fanfictions. it’s like a fucking rollercoaster ride of people seeing a universe with one million billion interesting characters in it and a bunch of free compelling narratives to explore already attached and going “Hmm. No. I want to see everything that already happened except it’s written worse and Taylor has Wolverine knifehands and keeps stabbing people.”

I was wondering, how did DU Drow took to Orins betrayal? To her being the one that stabbed him in the back, and so how did his infatuation and imprinting on her changed or twisted? Did he feel anything when he saw her again? Did his body or mind remembered how he felt about her once? Also do not worried for long replies because I’m a sucker for them 🧛🏻‍♀️

You know, actually I like thinking about the very moment of the betrayal a lot and the rollercoaster of emotions DU drow would have experienced LOL I don't know EXACTLY how Orin managed to get away after mushing up his brain (and him being immediately rendered unconscious sounds a little boring to me) but I assume, wherever they were at the time - probably mindflayer hideout at Ketheric's I believe - she lured him somewhere where she could make a quick get-away and leave him behind either locked away or stuck when he inevitably reacted to what she did, before his mind started drifting away.

Which is just to say he would have had a few minutes of consciousness left immediately after-the fact. Orin got a head-start because he simply could not believe what had just happened: lots of "what did you do? what did you do? why did you do that?" followed by unbridled anger as reality settled in. He assumed he was going to die, so, If he could have gotten to Orin in time DU drow would have killed her. Instead he was left alone in what was probably the most terrifying and anxiety inducing few minutes he ever had in his life before his body and brain just gave out lol

POST the tadpole he remembered nothing. He had no feelings of sadness or mourning when he saw her, just a lot of rage. The weird "imprinting" he does on people was reset when his brains got scrambled, and he felt no love or affection for her from that point on. That said, I think he found something a little gross in the satisfaction he felt upon killing her, like he finally "got her" - if you catch my drift.

What's a little ironic (and kinda sad) here is that it's thanks to his affection towards Astarion that DU drow could even begin to understand concepts like consent and boundaries - these would have been key to realize that the position he put Orin in for years was profoundly uncomfortable and unfair, and perhaps with that in mind he *could* have somehow reached out to her and maybe even spared her of her own fate (I'm not entirely sure about this because of how faithful she was to Bhaal - but it would have at least raised the chances THE TINIEST BIT), but since the relationship was only possible BECAUSE his memories were erased, leaving nothing but resentment towards her, that became an impossibility. You can't have both; his infatuation with her either ceased and he completely forgot he ever cared for her and hence had no motivation to save her, or he remained utterly obsessed and never developed the relationships necessary to understand his role in his own demise.

In that later scenario the best he would have been able to do by the time he got to her was insist they go rogue, fuck Bhaal and fuck this, come with me and lets go be crazy [together] somewhere else and of our own accord - but obviously, Orin would have had no interest in the offer lmao and things would have ended up the same as they did in the main campaign - except now DU drow is a slightly worse person and doesn't have Astarion to hone him in. Even after she died I don't think a relationship between them could have sparked either, likely BECAUSE his obsession with Orin would have skeeved him away entirely.

Okay so. I'm like, 99% done with V3 and I realized I've barely shared like any of my thoughts here so. SPOILERS AHEAD

-The fact that Ryoma wanted to die and was fighting to find something to live for only to find out that he had NOTHING...that shit was sad bro

-Was NOT expecting Kirumi at all but in retrospect it's the least suspicious ones that you should be the most suspicious of. Also her execution was p brutal

-ANGIE WITH THE CULT...the fact that she managed to brainwash half the group had me terrified. Also her Atua worshipping got real old real fast. I hate religious cults lmao I was literally sitting there like "I REALLY hope she's the one to die this chapter" bc if I had to read one more sentence of her being like "Atua will save us all <3" I WOULD have gone to play in traffic.

-Angie needed to go but TENKO 😭 She was just a hopeless lesbian in love with Himiko she did not deserve what happened to her

-Speaking of Himiko I was kinda meh about her at first but after the chapter 3 trial her character developed so wonderfully...it was so nice to see her grow and change and learn to express herself 🥺

-TRAINING TRIO MY BELOVED FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER I would kill for them genuinely.

umm hi... ig im back?? the past months were a rollercoaster for me, i graduated high school and im now in uni studying biomedical sciences which is kinda hard but yeah at least its fun. however the main reason i couldnt post was bcs i was focusing on my mental and phsyical state, i got diagnosed with different anxiety disorders and its been really hard for me. but writing distracts me and brings me peace, so ig i should write more loll. anyways enjoyy :)

on and on with your boyfriend, it had been five minutes with the both of you just yelling back and forth. Actually, you were the one doing most of the yelling, he just sat there annoying every part of you.

"kylian just because you don't want to talk about it does not mean you get to walk out of the room." You yelled. The both of you were talking casually until he said something along the lines of going out with his friends tomorrow, and all you replied with was how he wasn't spending much time with you lately, and how lonely you felt. What did he do? Walk out the door. "I don't want to argue right now, i'm sick of it. I'm leaving." He spat out, letting a mocking sigh of frustration as he walked out the door. The fact that he walked away without letting you talk about your feelings angered you, so you followed him out.

"listen to me, you're making a big deal right now. nothing happened. I don't get why your yelling, you know everytime you accuse me of something it turns into an argument, and I'm honestly just not in the mood right now." He mumbled while looking at his phone. His response was so hurtful towards you, thinking back to all the times you were there for him and would listen to him.

"You think I'm being overdramatic?" You asked, your calm just as irritatingly calm as his. He nodded his head, face still looking towards his phone, his eyes were never on you, and you just wanted some respect.

You felt the pain in your abdomen worsen as you yelled through the pain. "Y-your not even looking at me. Why is it so hard for you to listen to me??" You scream out, a small lump forming on your throat. He threw his phone next to him, stood up and looked up at you for a quick second before looking away. He then turned back to you. 

"Y/n, I'm not trying to hurt you, I was only trying to avoid an argument." He whispered. "I wasn't trying to argue, I was trying to speak my side. I just wanted to tell you how I feel so empty without you here. You're most of the time at training and by the time you get back you're so tired to spend time with me. These free days are when we can actually spend time together." You mumbled. He gave you a look before looking up.

"But what about me? I never have breaks so when would I ever go out with my friends and do something I enjoy?" He spoke. His words felt like a stab to your heart.

"Do something you actually enjoy? Fuck off Kylian, you could have just broken up with me if being with me is something you don't actually enjoy. You know what? Do whatever the hell you want, I'm gonna be the one to leave now." You spat, walking out the door. 

The moment you walked outside, a rush of cold wind hit your face, your body automatically starting to shiver. You blamed yourself for not bringing a jacket, but just thought of going back soon. You found an empty bus stop to sit at, and decided it would be a good place to think about something to distract you, but that's when the pain started getting worse. Your hands grabbed onto your lower stomach and you squeezed your eyes shut, hoping it would make the pain subside. All you wanted to do was to be in your boyfriends embrace, for him to cuddle you, kiss you, cook for you, take care of you, and just love you. But right now, from his words, it seems like he didn't enjoy being with you, which one made you feel worse.

It got to the point where you didn't know if you were crying over kylian or the pain, but you decided it was both. You were never good with cramps, and you were extremely sensitive. Kylian was always aware, but this time it seemed to slip his mind that you needed him.

He was at home, thinking back at everything to see where he had made a mistake, his hands were fisted up as his heart began to ache out of fear. The moment he laid his eyes on the jacket he knew you were outside freezing. It was extremely late and it was freezing outside, and you didn't even take a jacket with you. Forgetting about the argument, he rapidly stood up, deciding to look for you. As he was taking his jacket out the coat rack, he noticed the chocolate wrappers littered in the counter and the painkillers you used for your period left there. It was then when he realized, you were on your period. You did not like sweet things, and if you were eating this much chocolate, it could only be one

reason.

"Fuck." He mumbled, grabbing the car keys and running out the door. His footsteps echoed around the streets as he got to the car. He hoped that you were okay. As he looked around while driving, you were nowhere to be found, and he only started panicking. He took out his phone, hands barely being able to hold the phone from how much he was panicking.

Finally, after getting a hold of himself, he pressed on your contact, praying that you would pick up, but to his luck, it went straight to voicemail. If anything happened to you, he would not be able to forgive himself. He cursed under his breath, his vision becoming blurry as he thought about the worst case scenarios. He should have never been so hard on you when you were only trying to spend time with him. Guilt filled his body as the only thing he wanted was for you to be in his arms.

He kept looking around the neighborhood and that's when he found a figure sitting in an empty bus-stop. His heart almost beat out of his chest as he found you. After making sure it was you, he parked the car nearby and sprinted, glad to see that you were okay.

"You idiot." He mumbled as his voice wavered. It was laced with fear. "If you're just here to insult me then you can leave." You mumbled, looking away. Kylian immediately took off his jacket, wrapping it around your form as he gently held your face, bringing it close to his so that he could kiss you. You flinched from how warm his lips felt against yours, but slowly melting into him. No matter how upset at him you were, you were always his, and you could never resist him. As you were kissing, you began to feel droplets of what you thought was rain falling on you. Breaking away from the kiss, you saw the first snowfall. You've heard of couples kissing on the first snowfall, but never about it snowing as you were kissing.

Kylian pulled you into a hug, as you shivered and hugged him back. The cramps started getting worse and worse by the moment, and before you knew it, you started crying again. Taken aback, Kylian stared at you with fear, examining you to see what was wrong. You held onto him tightly, telling him your stomach was hurting, another pang of guilt hitting him for not taking good care of you. "Aw my baby...I'm so sorry, it'll be okay, I promise. Come let me carry you and get to the car." He kissed your head. You were too in pain to reject him, so you let him carry you to the car. You felt calm and though the pain was still there, it wasn't as bad as it was before. He put you in the front seat next to him and adjusted the seat so you were laying down instead of sitting. The cramps were getting worse. He hated seeing you in pain. He covered you with a blanket he had stored in the back seats. You were still sniffing here and there as your mood swings and cramps were getting the best of you, and that you really felt uncared for through his words, though he probably didn't even mean it. During the car ride home he put on calm music. After you got home, Kylian carried you carefully bridal style. He opened the door and softly laid you down on the couch and you looked up with half lidded eyes. You had almost fallen asleep on the ride back. The lights started to wake you up as you whined, wanting to go back to sleep. You wanted to make everything okay again.

Kylian was about to head to the bedroom to go get something until you held his hand. "D-did you mean it? When you said you wanted to do something you actually enjoy and that was to go out? Am I too boring?" You mumbled. He sighed before sitting right by you. He leaned down towards you as he placed a kiss on your forehead, and then your nose, and then your lips.

"N-no. I didn't mean it. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have walked away when you were talking to me like that. I should have listened to what you were going to say. I'm sorry I didn't take care of you, I'm sorry you had to go through this because I'd me. I do love you, so much.

And I promise we'll solve our conflicts together. Okay? we'll talk the rest out tomorrow, rest and sleep now okay?"

You nodded, trusting his words. He was never one to disrespect you and you know he wouldn't say anything like that and mean it. You decided you'd just talk to him tomorrow and that you'd go to bed for now. He made you mean to eat and put a heat pack on your stomach as he peppered your face with kisses and rubbed your belly so that you could go to sleep. You cuddled against his chest as he hummed a tune that you could sleep too. He cooed at your sleeping figure. He pressed a last kiss against your head after passing out right next to you.

pointed out X-Virus, in his hushed voice and his blue eyes, behind those blue goggles, were staring intently at Masky.

Kinda like the way he stared at you before stabbing you with a poisonous syringe.

Masky stared back before laughing, and you felt the vibrations from his chest against your back,

"I couldn't give two shits."

Maybe those words shocked you.

"Let her go."

Those words shocked you more. Did he care-

"Oh, so she is your girlfriend?"

You felt a gloved hand roughly grope your left breast, while the other held you in a head lock. Masky chuckled, his breath going through his mask holes and hitting you on the back of your head.

Clearly he was trying to get a reaction out of X-Virus.

X-Virus' goggles' shined under the dim light as he reached in a worn out looking backpack hanging on his shoulder, and pulled out a baseball bat filled with nails.

"I said, don't move!" snarled Masky, like a rabid dog.

"You said don't take another step forward," corrected X-Virus, and you could hear his grin.

"...you know what I FUCKING mean." Now was your chance. He was distracted.

Taking your chances, you elbowed Masky as hard as you could.

An grunt escaped his lips and he dropped his crowbar. He INSTANTLY snatched your hair, pulling at all the roots. You screamed, and to your advantage used your bigger arms to hit at Masky.

"You fucking bitch," seethed Masky.

"I'll teach-" CRACK.

The sight you saw next would be rated X in the movie theaters. Blood and tissue and bone exploded as the bat swung through Masky's skull.

His mask fell at your feet, and his body fell limp. He was a corpse now.

X-Virus was breathing heavily, clutching his bat. You both looked at each other.

He let out a deranged laugh.

Maybe you felt like crying.

And then suddenly the windows to the cabin, slammed open. Harsh, cold wind came through the entrances.

"I should've known the Slenderman would come after me," muttered X-Virus to himself, clicking his tongue, "I killed his two best proxies."

He then gave you a look before grabbing your wrist, yanking you with him.

"W-what are you doing?" you cried, trying to keep up as he slammed open the cabin exit, and took you towards a huge tree trunk.

"I'm saving your ass."

The tree trunk had a hole at the bottom.

"You've got fight in you," said X-Virus and you could hear his sad grin, "But you won't be able to survive a fight with the Slenderman."

Without warning he pushed you into the hole, and vomit escaped your throat at the following drop. It was worse than an airplane takeoff or rollercoaster.

Blackness took you.

And then you found yourself whenever you called home.

You were back home.

It was over.

I can do both!! Here’s Like A Worm In Your Head first!

Essentially it’s a Miraculous AU where Pre-Emotion, Félix accidentally finds out that Adrien is Chat Noir and is so normal about this. Extremely normal. It changes absolutely nothing. No, this doesn’t consume his every waking thought, what are you talking about?

(He is very much not normal about this.)

As for Consider The Spare, this is a much larger AU that I’m currently planning and kinda obsessed with where Adrien and Félix are both twins and sentibeings and things are A Little Bit Worse For It. Gabriel and Emilie are/were not very good parents to either of them, for different reasons.

The idea is that Gabriel/Hawkmoth forces Félix to work for him and take on the Peacock Miraculous around Season 2 to work with his Akumas and to not tell anyone about it bc Nathalie refuses to work for him like that. There’s a LOT of details about this AU that I don’t wanna go into yet because I’m still finalizing things and technically it’s still in the planning stage, there is just a LOT of information for the planning stage so I added it.

Anyways here’s a mini section of what I’ve got planned and what I call ‘Argos goes through a rollercoaster of emotions in three chapters’

Part of the reason it was created was so I could have an altered version of the senticousins square, and so I could have Argos and Chat Noir fight and interact more.

Depends on your definition of best. Aiden plans all the cool/exciting stuff and he actually has the money for all the stuff he wants to do with her. Ash's dates are more romantic, if only by virtue that they're in quiet places where they can be alone. Tho neither of them plan dates a lot they just kinda end up alone together lol

3. Who's the best at carnival games?

Aiden's been to a lot of carnivals and he's a good shot with a BB gun! Ash doesn't really like carnivals (overstimulating) but she's good at the fish pond and ring toss.

4. Who drags the other onto rollercoasters?

Aiden LOVESSSS rollercoasters so much, its a great way to get his adrenaline up! He'll ask Ash a lot to go on one too, but he won't force her (rollercoasters are *really* loud, especially all the people screaming, and he wouldn't make her do anything that causes her pain)

5. Who does the most chores?

Ash is pretty strict about chores, and she makes sure any household stuff is evenly split between them, but...I mean, she helps Aiden with his own chores cuz he's really bad at cleaning and stuff 🫠

6. Who gets drunk faster?

At some point in the future: Depends what you mean. Aiden has a higher tolerance but he would also drink WAAAAAY more than Ash ever would, so he would get drunker "quicker", but if they were drinking exactly the same Ash would get tipsy faster (vertically challenged struggles fr 😔)

7. Who watches more reality TV?

Aiden likes all that crap like Big Brother and stuff, watches reruns at night when he can't sleep.

Ash is more stubborn than Aiden is but her way is probably waaaay better than Aiden's way 🤡 Aiden might insist for a bit but he also finds arguing to be kinda boring so eventually he would drop it

Ash doesn't believe in ghosts at all, and Aiden is really into the idea of ghosts and would LOVE evidence, but he also doesn't believe in them.

I don't think Ash has texted a meme to anybody in her entire life. So...Aiden.

Aiden because he types really fast and he doesn't bother to fix the mistakes lol

Ash has never been on a plane, and she doesn't like doing stuff that's outside her comfort zone, so she's the more nervous flier. Aiden doesn't like flying but only because it means he needs to sit still for more than an hour and he cant do that shit happily 🤡

Thank you discord for helping me settle this. We settled on Aiden because his parents/tutor definitely would have taught him how to do that so they could be in contact/to teach him about their job. Ash only does them for school and they end up really short and simple.

A Particularly Funny Ride on Nitro

I've been on Nitro a grand total of two times thus far (and unfortunately what you see above is the only photo I have of it as of right now). But even amidst everything I've been on, from Pantheon to Twisted Timbers, this thing is still such a grand slam. It's something I always put my hands up on, from start to finish. But during my second ride on Nitro this past summer, in which I went by myself, I was sitting in the same row as these 2 guys. I sat in the center-left, while they occupied the center and far-right seats. Initially I didn't pay much attention to them, but as the ops prepared to send us out of the station, their convos caught my attention. One of them said to the other as the ops checked our restraints "Bro this does NOT feel safe." Now just to make it clear, rollercoasters, especially modern ones, are arguably safer than airplanes. And Nitro was manufactured by Bolliger and Mabillard (B&M) , who are known in the industry and public for their efficiency, safety and fail-safes. But hey, for 2 scared guys, a big coaster is a big coaster, and I can't change that.

Our train pulled out of the station and began to climb the chain lift. I was growing more and more excited as I do, but those 2 were not exactly having the best time. Both of them were going "ooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit" throughout the climb, and although I was keeping my eyes on the road, I'm sure they were trying not to look down and only make their panic worse. I'll link a POV of Nitro below, so you can get an idea as to how big its lift hill is:

So yeah, pretty long climb. We finally crested the hill, I raised my arms, and they started screaming. They weren't high-pitched screams or anything, more so a constant "OHMYGODOHSHITOHFUCKOHSHITOHMYGODOHMYGODOHFUCK-". Plus, I'm fairly certain they were deciding what was better throughout the ride: holding onto the restraints for dear life, or flailing their arms in an attempt to fly away from the coaster. Now, I'm the kinda girl who laughs on a coaster, with the occasional woo! thrown in. And it's hard to say when the shift occured, perhaps on the hammerhead turn back to the park, but my laughter eventually turned from "oh my god this is so fun" to "oh my god these boys are going apeshit." I wasn't looking at them or anything, but every so often I would see a hand flailing around to my right. And it wasn't like their screams were being muffled by anything; eeeeeeeeveryone in the train could hear them.

Once we hit the final brake run, I was still laughing hysterically. I looked to my right, and they looked like they'd seen a ghost. They were limp in their seats and almost hyperventilating. I tried to calm down as much as I could, and asked them if they were okay. Their response?

"Blgrhub" I think they were okay.

They quickly vanished after I left the station, and I unsurprisingly never saw them again. But wherever those 2 are now, I hope they're still okay. Maybe they're back at Great Adventure right now for Holiday in the Park and are once again riding Nitro; it's one of the few coasters they still operate at this time of year \o/

I was wondering what characters from Failtopia you think have a lot of angst potential (besides Erica—I do really like her, but I admit I feel like the majority of the community ignores most of the others). Personally, I'd say both Shrimp and Friend have backstories that allow for a rollercoaster of emotions.

AGGH THE ANGST POTENTIAL THIS SERIES HAS IS SO FUN TO WORK WITH!!! Long rant under the cut!

Friend and Shrimp are definitely good characters to explore with the trauma they’ve gotten before/during the series. As much as people talk about Friend and Lee together, we need more people talking about Friend’s emotions in the aftermath of Lee’s betrayal. Lee was very much abusive to Friend and their relationship (no matter if you see it as romantic or platonic) was undeniably very toxic!! And Shrimp literally had her father leave her to go exploring or whatever he did in that D&D stream (idk I didn’t watch it fully) AND she got bullied at a young age for her dream of being a singer, plus being on a world saving team at the age of 14 isn’t exactly the best thing to happen to a child like her!

I’d also like to mention Mar has amazing angst potential! dude had to witness first hand the effects The Consequences Of His Actions had on Miitopia from the hero’s side, and it is NOT PRETTY. Plus a good chunk of his now teammates were had to deal with this twice, the first time being directly his fault! like. Mar hurt members of his family! Yea it was in the past before The Incident’s formation, but you can’t tell me he doesn’t feel SUPER guilty about it!! Imagine how he felt with Hank’s reveal!! He was just as much to blame for Lee’s villain arc as C!Fail was. I think more people should seriously explore Mar as a character cuz he is so interesting to me

This may seem like a strange one too but.. Simple Bob!! If there’s any angst in this series that’s overlooked, it’s his. He’s a demon hunter, not only that but just like Erica, he’s had people die on him before, with absolutely nothing he could do to save them since he’s not a healer! Punnyatta, Bob’s mentor, was killed by Hank not long before the events of S1. I just wish Bob got better treatment since all his demon hunter stuff is so interesting to me and has a lot of potential!

Rose is also good for angst too since she had to fake so much stuff just to keep up her Rosalina thing! Like, where does Rosalina end and Rose start?? She’s got a whole identity crisis more, and her becoming a worse person as the season goes on is also really cool to me!! Deko obviously has a lot of interesting stuff too that (just like Bob) gets kinda looked over. DUDE WAS EXPERIMENTED ON!! He was ridiculed for something he couldn’t control and permanently changed himself because of it. and that isn’t even mentioning meeting an alternate version of himself who’s better off than him in every way. Dude’s self esteem was low before, but now it’s in the GUTTER. Dude’s struggling

There’s so much more I wanna say but I don’t want this to get too long lol, but I swear you can make some good angst with any character (even Joker’s ‘canon’ story, with him being in an unfamiliar world and all)
