My Thoughts

I love anthologies like this. I’ve read a few since first discovering them a few years ago, and I can never get enough.

Snowed In has the benefit of donating all the proceeds to Advocates for Trans Equality (A4TE), so not only do I get to read some fantastic stories, but I know my contribution is going to an amazing cause.

I also get to enjoy a few very fun takes on the same trope – being snowed in over the holidays!! With any anthology, a couple of the stories didn’t appeal to me as much as the others did, but they were all very fun regardless! I got to explore the writing styles of a couple new-to-me authors, while also relishing in the works of authors that have become staples on my digital shelves.

I really had a great time with Snowed In, and just in time for the holidays! I can be quite the Grinch this time of year (lots of family drama and trauma have made the holidays rather torturous some years). Being able to find little bits of enjoyment when I can eases the anxiety and the dread. And this anthology wad definitely way more than just a little bit of enjoyment.

Mini-review:

I'm not the biggest fan of Superman, but people around me insisted that I should watch this specific show and I'm glad I listened to them. For starters, it's genuinely funny; the idea of making a romcom-ish take on these characters feels so refreshing and charming. The anime-inspired aesthetic is another of its strong points, which helps the story become as engaging as possible. Finally, the voice acting is great, with Jack Quaid giving a particularly endearing performance. I wonder where My Adventures with Superman will take us next, since the second season seems to wrap up pretty much all storylines and arcs.

Maybe the Fever should be disbanded. It’s a win for Caitlin! A win for Paige! A win for Kiki! A win for Aliyah! A win for all future rookies! A win for anybody who watches them play! Nobody loses and who even lives in Indiana anyways!

These headlines are absolutely ridiculous considering that the doc follows TWO other players… not one headline mentions Kiki Rice or 2x national champ Kamilla Cardoso??? I don’t understand why the media can’t spotlight multiple people at a time. The movement going on right now (similar to the doc) isn’t just one person.

My Thoughts

Another anthology done, and more stories to enjoy!

After reading the Contemporary counterpart, I was really excited for the H2H Paranormal anthology, and I wasn’t disappointed. I definitely recognized more authors here, which says a lot about my reading tastes of late. But I was also introduced to a couple new authors that I enjoyed!

Like all anthologies there were hits and misses. But overall, I enjoyed these stories quite a bit! Especially the idea of Cupid working overtime for the corporate dating industry. There was just something borderline pleasantly evil about that.
