Oden was tasked with entertaining the kids for an evening, so he put on the wano-equivalent of the kabuki play "Shibaraku" because that's always a sure hit.

Also since Buggy's facepaint reminds me of aragoto style kumadori-makeup I liked the idea that it's inspired by his admiration of Oden somehow. The style Toki gave him is an ipponguma meant for rambunctious characters, Shanks' is getting a more down-to-earth wagoto style specifically Fujiya Izaemon's but that's not important

the air is uncharacteristically warm for halloween—perfect for getting a head start on trick or treating. you steal a look at your boyfriend, JACAERYS VELARYON, clad in his wicked witch of the west costume. lucerys stands beside him, mirroring jac'es costume as glinda the good, urging little joffery to walk up to the next house alone.

you've got little aegon on your hip, fast asleep, while viserys inspects both his own and your candy bags. he seems quite keen on swapping all of his malts for your peanut butter cups.

"at least we get to dump them at my mom's once the sugar sets in." jace whispers, eyes still following joffery as he meekly heads toward a couple handing out full-size bars.

you giggle, "you're forgetting how hyper you are after a few too many airheads." you're right, of course. jace tends to become the most talkative in the room after excess sugar—not that you see it as anything to complain about. you could listen to him go on for hours.

"oh, come on, i’m not that bad," jace whispers back, though there’s a mischievous grin tugging at his lips. you roll your eyes, adjusting little aegon on your hip, whose costume is barely hanging on, his dinosaur hood slumped against your shoulder.

"do you remember last year?" you nudge him gently with your elbow, watching joffery stop short of the door, second-guessing himself before lucerys waves him on. "you stayed up until three in the morning just to tell me all the reasons dragon eggs could be more scientifically plausible than people think."

jace laughs under his breath, the sound soft, nearly drowned out by the crunch of leaves underfoot as you move to the next house. "okay, maybe i get a little carried away."

"a little?" you tease, arching a brow.

his eyes twinkle, smile bright in contrast to his green facepaint. "fine. but you were fascinated, admit it." his voice lowers as he steps closer, breath hitting your ear.

"just a bit." your grin widens, but before you can lean into him more, joffery pulls on your sleeve, interrupting the moment. "look!" he says, proudly holding up a handful of full size snickers bars.

jace chuckles, reaching out to ruffle his hair. "i’ll trade you two for a couple of those airheads."

you hit his shoulder, "don't ruin his night with an unfair trade!"

your boyfriend feigns hurt, "and to think...i was going to split it with you." before you can respond, the kids are rushing off to the next house.

he locks his fingers with yours, "c'mon, can't let the babes steal all the fun," he smirks, "or all the candy."

The beginning of this project was laid back in early August. Back then, the bloody tears from the Nightbringer Aphelios skin were drawn (it's worth mentioning that they also kicked off the Bloody Tears skin, I guess it's needless to say that this was also the kick-off for the regular tears). + This was basically my first attempt at going beyond eye textures. So I have to finish this project not only because I love this champion so much, but also because of the honesty in my art. So yeah, thank you, Aphelios. See you when you get your new skin, kid.

MOONSHADOW MARKINGS S7

a maybe mildly comprehensive rambling

Whenever we meet an elf in the show I stare at their markings and this is what I've got from season 7

Lets kick it off with the Moon Cubs!

First off there's the cub who's making embarrassing Callum her new favorite hobby

From what I've seen, her markings are most like Callisto's

Then we have the cub with the yellow eyes

The only moonshadow with markings I'd call similar is this friend from the tabletop game

But they're only a little bit similar and I don't know too much about the tabletop game so I'm not sure what such markings might mean 😅

Either way, what the elves paint on themselves has meaning, which leads up to the cub I really want to talk about-

Last of all is this little guy, who's got a nose stripe like Runaan

Past Runaan specifically

I'm fairly certain this sketch is of the past bc I'd find it confusing to change up his facepaint and mend his horn for no reason, on top of that Ethari is wearing his og outfit and also has different markings. The markings stay for a long while, I think the creators described them as like extra-long lasting henna's, so the fact that 2/3 cubs might have assassin markings is Interesting to me. There's a lot of moonshadow markings that go across the cheeks like the oldest moon cub's does, so it could be only one cub with possible assassin markings, but i find it curious either way. Like how and why are marks picked for elf children, especially marks that seem to have correlation to roles/careers/etc? Do kiddos get markings similar to what their parents have to kind of show familial connection? Or do parents paint the markings based off what they'd like their kid to be or what the kid seems enclined for? And if so then how often do the markings get swapped? People can change their mind on what path in life they want as they grow, and kids can change their mind on something like that every day.

On the note of swapping markings-

In that past sketch, it looks like Ethari has fewer marks on his cheeks and shoulders, then in the episode we meet him, he has these circle-y markings filling up the space on his cheeks and shoulders.

And then in season seven he has very swirly-ee markings

Similar enough that I didn't notice on my first watch but different enough that I'm staring wanting to know the meaning

Since it seems like markings correlate to roles/jobs/whatever and also the rank the elf has in that position, I'm guessing the increasing amount of circles on Ethari and the second nose stripe on Runaan is to show their moving up in the ranks. But the change from clean, geometric markings to more organic swirlies for Ethari feels like a more personal thing. We know home boy has a steady hand, so even if Runaan painted his markings before they wouldn't look this different now. Maybe he wanted something more spiral-y to lowkey match the mark over Runaan's heart or the patterns he adorned his husband with?

I think I actually know why, though: "Similar but different."

When there's stuff you did with someone and suddenly you don't have that person anymore, doing that stuff is hard. To put it lightly. There's this part of your brain that screams something's incorrect, something's off, something is wrong. Because this isn't a you thing, it's a you and that person thing. But they're not here. It's not supposed to be like this.

That's were the "but different" comes in. If you change it up then it's no longer what you did with that person, at least not exactly, and that can be enough to make it manageable. You still achieve whatever the objective is, just differently.

So if Runaan and Ethari painted each other's markings, then I believe that this is one of Ethari’s Similar-but-Different's. Painting them the way his husband did was painful, it was supposed to be Runaan's hands creating those shapes, but now it was his own. So he changed them. He couldn't just stop wearing them, they're kind of like a uniform, so he made them similar but different.

More on changing markings- As far as I'm aware, no elf has changed markings more than Runaan. Not canonically, but in the Xadia phone game. The game was never compatible with my phone so everything I know about it is from other people's posts, but from what I've seen it looks like Runaan has the most marking changes out of all the elves. He's got different markings in his moon phoenix skin, the wasteland skin, the halloween skin, the theif skin, featherblade skin, another one that idk the name of, and maybe more? No idea how many skins the characters have, but I don't think I've seen major marking changes in the other elves skins? Could totally be wrong though

Either way, I think Runaan's markings are going to change and I think the game might have hints as to how.

Runaan no longer believes in precision violence, hell the boy just realized he's alive, too. So he's probably got a career change coming, which means a uniform/markings change.

So what's a stabby boy who no longer believes in precision violence gonna do? Probably protect, I think. There's a whole brand new city/kingdom and undead souls running rampant every time the sun goes down, so between that and more, there's tons of stuff to protect and defend. And I think he's going to become some type of guard or something like that.

How will this change his markings? I think they'll look most similar to his moon phoenix skin markings

Our guy was "already dead", actually died, came back to life, and realized he's actually alive. That's just got phoenix vibes all over it. We're also introduced to moon phoenix's by a guardian in the show. But besides vibes, I want to point at the marks on his cheeks in this skin. They're these two little lines beneath his eyes atop his cheeks, kind of like...

They're slanted at different angles and I think the dragon guards markings are supposed to remind you of dragons its the shapes for me but I think Runaan's new markings are going to be similar, sort of twin little lines across his cheeks under his eyes like his old friends and his phoenix skin.

I think his arm markings will probably change too, but I'm too sleepy to go on about that, goodnight ✌️

I have like- a headcanon that the toons had “shifts” in gardenview so things would be fresh and they’d switch places a lot- and one of those shifts is gift shop shift where they set up stands and have little activities- like poppy gives out bubble wands and samples of her pop- looey makes balloons-! goob or scraps depending on the day help the kids make crafts- Shrimpo…uh- Shrimpo gets used in looey’s pie face tricks during fundraisers. Pay a dollar? Shrimpo gets a pie to the face.

but I think glisten- in particular, would have a tiny little facepaint/makeup stand and- because late 90s early 2000s, it’s mostly little girls- but occasionally he gets boys at his stand- and I’d like to think they either grew up into gay theatre kids, or super masculine trucker men who also leave the house in pink eyeshadow and are very comfortable in their genders- like- Parents probably accused glisten of making their children gay with face paint at some point-

something TOOTH-ACHINGLY fluffy with secondo 🎃 out of all the papas he seems to have the most pictures with kids, so I have a headcannon that he loves to be around them & even participate in their mischief every once in a while. Maybe he and reader help the kids at the Abbey with apple picking? Or help them put on their costumes/face paint/wigs for Halloween? have fun with it!

Secondo is so focused, moving the brush with such precision as he applies the facepaint. His brows are furrowed, lip pressed into a thin line, squinting to make sure he gets the pattern just right. He sits back in his chair and looks over his work, tilting his head while a hand rests on his chin as his eyes follow the delicate lines. You watch him from the other room and find yourself with a dreamy smile playing on your lips.

“You are all done, Giacomo.” Papa grumbles and sets down his brush then gestures towards a nearby mirror. The child happily turns to the mirror, looking cheek to cheek and smiling ear to ear.

“Papa, I look just like you!” Giacomo exclaims, turning back to look at Secondo, his eyes shining brightly.

“Si, si. Now, go get your costume on. Mass is soon.” His voice is the same as how he would speak to adults, stern and deep, but children seem to be unphased by the threatening nature of it. You like to think it’s because he speaks to them like actual people.

“Grazie, grazie, Papa!” Giacomo chirps before scrambling out of the room. You come up behind Secondo as he starts organizing his brushes, draping your arms around his shoulders. He gives a content sigh, relaxing against your touch.

“How many children are going as Papa Emeritus the Second?” You purr in his ear.

“Six.” Secondo answers then pulls himself to his feet, slipping from your grasp with a sly grin. “Helped pochi cardinali too.” He smoothes out his robes as his eyes flicker over your body. “This is your costume?”

“What, is it not up to your standards?” You frown and fold your arms over your chest. Admittedly, you didn’t try very hard, opting to wear all black (which isn’t too different from your daily outfits) and a witch’s hat.

“You won’t win the costume contest.”

“The costume contest is for kids.” Silence hangs in the air for just a moment until you cannot hold back giggles any longer. You love when he’s playful like this and you can tell it’s because it’s his favorite time of year.

“Halloween Mass is extremely sacred, amore.” Secondo teases as he starts to stalk closer to you. “We have to appease the spirits.”

“Well, maybe you should paint my face, then.”

“We don’t have enough time for that.” His voice sounds buttery smooth as he towers over you, a smirk playing on his lips. “Do you have the unholy offering?” You hold up the bag of candy you put together and he takes it, rifling through it with a gloved hand. “Hmm… you’ve put together a good selection.” He holds the bag firmly in his hand and reaches out to you with his free one. “Shall we go celebrate the undead?”

The chapel is decorated top to bottom with black and orange streamers, bat decals, broomsticks and more. You work to organize the babbling, excited children into a single file line. Secondo looms in front of the children, back to looking stoic and authoritative, but you know it’s just an act for his audience.

The children of the abbey go up one by one, uttering the sacred words of the unholy spirit (“trick or treat”) to receive their offering from Papa. You are Papa’s helper and you make sure each child has their own time to be with him, though there are some times you get distracted by the sweetness of it all. He bows down to each child, close enough so that he can hear them, and asks them how they are honoring the dead this year.

The truth is, Papa doesn’t have to do any of this. It’s not his responsibility to ensure the children of the abbey have fun Halloween, but it warms your heart to see him here, playing along and enjoying himself. It’s Giacomo’s turn and you can’t help but smile ear to ear at his incredibly accurate Secondo costume.

“Ah, Papa.” Secondo bows his head to him. “I should be asking you for your blessing.” He offers a small smirk as he gives Giacomo a few pieces of candy, and one extra — for good luck. His eyes fall to you watching him and you’re unable to stop yourself from swooning.

Maybe you’ll let him paint your face later.

Do you have any unexpected Laswell headcannons?

Mine is that she's a ringer at those crane games. She knows they are rigged but knows exactly how to play them to win everytime.

She's freakishly good at guessing people's height. On the rare occasion she's wrong it's only by an inch either way.

The only male celebrity she'd even admit to finding charming is Jeff Goldblum. She's seen Jurassic Park, she doesn't get it but she gets it.

Oddly good at doing facepaint on kids which comes in handy with the sheer amount of nieces/nephews she has on her wife's side.

A killer in darts, no-one she knows is stupid enough to go up against her because she's better than all the boys combined.

Has met Jonathan Banks and considers him the greatest actor to have grown up in Maryland, will not shut up about it to her wife if someone gets her started. Yes, she has watched Breaking Bad. She feels so bad for Jesse.

Likes listening to Don't Fear the Reaper as background noise while doing things she really needs to focus on.

Imagine this.

Your dearest partner Secondo retires at the age of fifty-six. He gives up his career as the lead singer of Ghost and his position as Papa in favor of his younger brother, Terzo.

And unlike Primo, he would love to spend his retirement away from the Ministry halls. So he writes a formal request to his father and Sister Imperator so that he gets to take whatever work he has and gets to move away, preferably back to Italy.

And he takes you with him. You get to pursue whatever career you wish while he gets to stay at home, cooking and cleaning. He likes doing that. There's an odd sense of comfort in it, getting to walk around his own house without the facepaint, just a comfortable shirt and some loose sweatpants, his penis casually hanging out and occasionally slapping against his thigh, not restricted by underwear.

He wears a cute, pink apron as he makes you breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert... He even learns how to professionally brew coffee and (with Primo's advice) started a little garden where he mostly kept veggies and some herbs for tea.

Maybe you have kids, maybe you don't. But if you do, he loves them to bits and is a wonderful father. He teaches them both English and Italian. He helps them discover the world in a safe, but not constricting way.

You tell him about your day as you drink your beverage and have your loving husband massage your aching shoulders. He kisses the top of your head and prepares you a nice, relaxing bath.
